123: Was locked into a 3-year contract with an alarm system that didn't work half the time.

Adam B: Used this company for home alarms. From the get go I did NOT want a contract but was kind of pushed into one. Over the years i needed to buy more equipment. It was never used. I couldn't return the equipment. My girlfriend fell ill and we had some financial issues. I asked to be let out of the contract but it was denied. Then when I was finally done after 3 years and asked for services to be canceled it was never canceled and I was billed an additional 3 months. I worked with a billing specialist to be refunded the 3 months, in email I put my new address however they supposedly mailed my check to my last address which after 4 months of emails I still have not received my refund. I've messaged through fb messenger as well which shows messages read but NO response. Seems like this is going to Need litigation. Would not recommendService:Security cameras

Juliana Lewis: My service with this company has been sub-par following the salesperson closing on me. Not only have they failed to get my doorbell properly operational (I’ve had it for a year and without stable connectivity the entire time) I now have to pay to have a technician troubleshoot. It’s not as if it was working consistently and failed, they never got it operational to be begin with so why do I have to pay $99 / hour for a technician to come out? They also call me repetitively to tell me about my loss of signal, which is a constant reminder that the doorbell hasn’t been installed properly. Today they called me to tell me they received a “closing signal” at 3am, while I was sleeping. When asking the person who called me what this means, her response was “I don’t know, I’ll transfer you to service.” I was on hold for about 10 minutes (mind you, they called me) and was connected to billing. Then that person told me he was told I had a billing question. Not only did I not call, but I didn’t have a billing question but now I’m concerned as to why they are receiving any signals from my residence while I’m sleeping. So now I have no answers, more questions and my frustrations are through the roof. I will absolutely be leaving this company and going with ADT.Services:Installation,Technical support

El Martillo: - Great store, people and service.- I bought a used Ducati Multistrada that came w/ 1 key.- Inquired at the Dealer and they quote me a price of $400 to get ONE more KEY done, because it was a "high security", "smart", "laser cut" ... key- I asked my locksmith in Boston, who referred Car Alarm Systems 2 me.- They didn't have the piece to cut the key initially, so they volunteered to order it for their machine to cut the key 4 me.- They ended up cutting TWO high-security, smart KEYS for $85.- I highly recommend Car Alarm Systems.

I took a brand new vehicle (literally off the lot) to get a sub and door speakers installed (installation 7/10). I get a phone call from one of the employees telling me that there is a scuff on the bumper.He also mentioned that he checked the cameras and that the vehicle was brought to them that way.I’m obviously asking myself how thats possible.luckily a buddy of mine owns a building next door, which has a camera pointing in the perfect angle of where the “scuff appeared”. In the cameras you can perfectly see that there is no scuff when I drop off the vehicle.The least I would ask for is some honesty.Make sure you guys check your vehicles before trusting them!

Parkway Audio and security has provided great service and provided me with a premium sound system for a very fair price!Everyone was extremely nice but Vin is the one who directly helped me. I wanted to upgrade my stereo and sound system in my 2015 Nissan, I thought just replacing the speakers would be good enough. Vin informed me that most likely I would not hear what I wanted to archive. But he said I could think about the complete replacement and was not pushy at all. I really appreciated his professionalism and knowledge and came back less then a week later to finish the job. I purchased a cheap amp on Amazon and Vin agreed to install it, but again Vin advised me most likely I would not be happy! He was right and I realize you get what you pay for. I am so glad I returned the Amazon amp and have everything Alpine purchased here in my SUV. I Could not have hoped for a better Soundsystem! They were rude and they never help you with nothing all they wanna do is just charge you more money for lights that I don’t even know is gonna work on my car. I wouldn’t recommend this guys, plus they don’t even know what they are doing.

griffin windle: Gene and his team are just the best!!! I had an electrical issue with my car and Gene serviced my car immediately when I got there. After 20 minutes of determining the battery wasn't holding a charge, he crawled into my back seat and manually opend the trunk where the battery resided. He quickly diagnosed that some of the lines were loose, fixed those, recharged my battery, and I was on my way. I can't say enough about how they take care of their customers. Just a great bunch of guys that look out for their customers even when the issue isn't something that they typically service. Can't thank him enough.

They handled all of my requirements and chose the best equipment available. They worked with me on every aspect of the install and when we ran into some problems with the equipment they continued to work until I was extremely satisfied. This team is well led and totally customer oriented. I can honestly say that I have never had the opportunity to work with such consummate professionals in my life. If there were 6 stars I would be giving them that rating. I will never use another company for my automotive needs!

Brian S: 15 years ago I had my 2006 VW Jetta outfitted with an amplifier and a Focal component speaker system. I'm sad to report that after 15 years of trouble free use, the system needs to be removed because we are parting with the car. We enjoyed a quarter million miles listening to great sound in this car, and it wouldn't have been the same without it. Now, this same system will be re-purposed into another vehicle, and enjoyed for many years to come.

Yamil Kouri: All the one star reviews are jokes. This is hands down the only place you should take your car for any installation. They installed a remote starter for me and were extremely accommodating for my schedule. I then talked to them about tinting my windows and originally they couldn’t fit me in until June, then Jim gave me a call and was able to do it a month sooner. I cannot praise them enough. This place is professional and accommodating.

Joshua Yen: My experience with Sound in Motion has been magnificent. I had a custom sound system installed into my Tacoma back in March 2020. When I got the truck back, I looked inside and it was as if nothing had happened. It was an extremely clean install.I had Dynamat Extreme sound deadening installed in all 4 doors and the back wall of the Tacoma, as well as inside the subwoofer box. Everyone comments that the truck cabin is very quiet and is comparable to riding in a luxury vehicle, which is what really brings out the high quality speakers the SIM team put together. Everyone who hears the system says how "tight" it is, no buzzes or vibrations, even at low volume, and is mind blowing at higher volumes.There were a few tweaks we had to make, which is typical of high end sound systems, due to a faulty tweeter. The process of narrowing down the problem was time consuming, but the SIM team was stellar!In the end, I ended up jumping at the chance to go ahead and upgrade the front stage speakers. All I can say is wow, I’m so happy I did, unbelievable!!Jim, whom I dealt with, is a very professional, honest and fair individual. I would highly recommend Sound in Motion for all of your vehicle upgrade needs. They just moved to Watertown into an awesome space, I'm really happy for them.I’ll definitely be back for other work I’ll need in the future!I’m honored & pleased to have a sound system designed and installed by the Sound in Motion team!

Dave Malekpour: I have been a customer of ADT for 13 years. Over they last year my system stopped working properly and had a difficult time getting a technician scheduled. Finally yesterday the tech arrived late, and after working on the system for quite some time basically states the system only could communicate when sun was out and weather made it stop communicating both internally in my house and with ADT. That’s insane!Additionally I’ve had on going issues with Zones and contacts that won’t work. They’ve repeatedly sent me batteries which after changing still not working correctly. When the tech came he only changed the batteries again not replaced the sensor which I suggested when I made the appointment.My system has not worked correctly for over a year. Last night at 3am the system chimed repeatedly that glass break 34 was not communicating... same as it was before the tech appointment which took weeks to get.Today I called and spoke with a customer service advisor and requested 1) a credit for the last year of it not working and 2) a tech to come tomorrow and make it work properly, the answer was no to both. 2-3 weeks for next appointment. And offered me an upgrade but that would cost 2000 over 35 payments for the hardware and increase from 59 to $81 a month for monitoring....What???1) system can only work when it’s not cloudy2) supervisor ‘Mary” I spoke with said they’d only credit 2 month on new upgrade but still have to pay for installation and increased rate3) the new system would work in all weather as it uses different cell towers - so clearly they know my system which can’t communicate has not workedI cancelled and reporting to BBB and will seek my credit through BBB.Warning they are not a good company to work with and after 13 years will take my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same.Worst customer service ever experienced by a consumer oriented company. Buyer beware.

Becca Maniar: Don't do it.Total scam. If I had realized I wasn't dealing with ADT directly I would have originally looked up the reviews for this company. I didn't realize ADT subcontracts with other companies and this one is awful. They didn't use the system that was already installed saying it was out of date and needed to be replaced when they just wanted to upsell a new system. Then they start installing right away, drilling into your walls and spend all this time putting in a new 'control box' before reviewing the options and costs associated with the system. Also the $100 gift card to help cover the install and system cost is a scam. They don't tell you you have to apply for it. And apply within 30 days from a form they don't send you. And then you finally get the form after 30 days are up and are supposed to go get a damn cashiers check or money order for $4.95 to send with the form to get the damn card.DON'T DO IT.

Google user: Called ADT to install a home alarm. They sent this company to install it. The installer did not install the system correctly, so it wouldn't work. It took 2 return visits to "get it right." And best of all the first installer need my Budman stein, because he walked out with it under his jacket. Warning! If you go with this company count the silverware before they leave.

José Guilherme Ribeiro: Every week I get an email harassing from this company, "Protect Your Home - ADT Premier Provider" . They don't even have an «unsubscribe» link so that we could put an end to their agony! I wouldn't install a security system from these jokes on my neighbors dog's house!

Lyn Jones: What I was told on the phone and what actually was required to install my system was incredibly different. Thanks to the sharp negotiations have an incredible man, Frank, we were able to come to an agreement He also was able to obtain two gift cards for me for $100 each rather than just one since so many things were different Even to the set up time

Hector Cepeda: Beware!!! These guys don't identify themselves as an authorized dealer. They mislead us and lead us to believe we were signing up with ADT. Once we realized we were signed up with them we attempted voiding the contract which we were left no option to stay locked at 3 years. Otherwise they will hold you responsible for 75% of full equipment charge (over $1,500). At no point did they offer customer satisfaction even after we argued how unhappy and unsatisfied we were by being mislead! In addition, they offered a second keypad which we wanted installed by our garage door. The second keypad was installed INSIDE our boiler room! Go figure. Who's going to use a keypad inside the boiler room in the basement. When we called to have it moved, they refused! We will bite the contract because we have no option but buyer beware of false advertisement! I'm contacting our attorney and consumer affairs first thing Tuesday due to the Columbus Day Holiday!
