The Brattle Theatre: what do users think?
Michael Berube: Fantastic/Eclectic choices for showings, tickets that aren't too bad, near to the Harvard Square T/Parking Garages... An Arthouse Lovers dream
Michael Jenkins: Came to see “Fremont” as part of the IFF.Loved the movie. Love the venue.
Stephen Kluczkiewicz: Went to an afternoon showing on the Sunday of the Boston Underground Film Festival with my daughter. It was an hour and a half animated shorts collection my brother put together, and it was very interesting and entertaining. Lots of talent from these artists that my daughter appreciated as she's studying animation. The Brattle is an old style theater for those who haven't been there. No seats that tilt back or hold your drink, but they were comfortable to me for the hour and 40 minutes I sat in my seat. I know they show older movies here, so definitely a fun place to go for a date or night out. Also, it's right near Harvard Square, so there are plenty of places to eat before or after the movie. Definitely worth going here.
David Finn: Cinematic Paradise. Any opportunity to catch a movie at the Brattle is a great one. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Fantastic concessions, including popcorn with REAL BUTTER. I adore the Brattle!!!
Sami Shahin: This theater is a gem. Classics, Indies, foreign films; this theater has it all!
Nabil Nasser: A film enthusiast's paradise
Alex C: Charming theater in a gorgeous area of town. I've been wanting to catch one of their showings of older sci-fi/horror flicks but have yet to have the opportunity. I did get to catch the annual Bugs Bunny Film Festival, however, which was a blast!
David Eynisfeld: Fantastic little theater, cool bathrooms
Mark Carper: Historic place, great movies all the time... What else? Oh! Popcorn with real butter! I'm a fan for life - as is my recently-15 year old!
Steven Clancy: They make you wear a mask. No other theater requires that.
Caitlin Belle Isle: I love coming here, I’ve seen Ottessa Moshfegh talk about her new book, the documentary Meet me in the bathroom, and Wes Anderson’s movie The Royal Tennenbaums. It’s always really clean and the building is absolutely beautiful. Masks are required and although they are offered at the door I would recommend bringing your own. Also, don’t sit upstairs if you’re short you won’t have a great view lol.
John Jj: Awesome classic theatre
Michael Pierce: Both the Brattle and Coolidge Corner Cinema are mainstays for me as I'm a perpetual deep dive cinephile, love all kinds of foreign as well as the classics, nor, technicolor, anything Kubrick and Welles etc
douglas roberts: Classic art film theatre, excellent programming.
Steve Hiday: This is an excellent film house in Cambridge. The frequently show awesome doubleheaders of old-school cult flicks. Recently saw Mad Max Thunderdome here (part 2 of a Mad Max double feature.) Another fave was Brazil and 2001 Space Odyssey. Check the listings often!Olympic Otter
J. Mark Carper,_Ed.D.: Still fab after all these years! Son and I each have season tic - a bargain AND supports a great Cambridge "institution" (which term I use in the best way(s) possible!)
Francesco: Wonderful cinema to see the classics.
Michele Delfino: So glad to share this theatre w our 16 yo. His first 35mm film. Pee Wee's Big Adventure on the big screen.
cheer: Lovely theater!
Julia Cooper: One of my favorite places! Always a delight catching a movie here. If I had more time I'd probably be here several times a week, but alas.
Kirk Hardy: Intimate theatre that plays a very well curated set of some new releases but mostly film series type stuff. Lots of great double features, lots of stuff you always wanted to see in a theatre but couldn't. They also do some great showings coupled with Q&As with people involved or knowledgeable. Go see something! Even if it's just whatever they have playing that day.

Coolidge Corner Theatre: what do users think?
Alex C: Great theater with an excellent selection of films. Comfortable and ample seating and a fantastic sound system. I went to see one of my favorite films, Akira, and the sound blew me away. There calendar is full of classics, too. I'd be here all the time if I lived closer.
Sarrah Marcotte: LOVE this place, the people are super kind, it has a very vintagey movie theatre vibe. Prices are exactly where they need to be, bar service was great, and they have classic movie theatre snacks. They also always have such great movie selections and fun after midnight movies' sometimes too. I would go here 1000% over any other kind of chain movie theatre.
Abi Varsos: Quite possibly my favorite place in the world, I have literally never had a bad experience at Coolidge Corner Theater. With a variety of spaces for all different types of viewings, you seriously cannot go wrong! I used to live around the corner, and I definitely took that for granted! Every time I go, I wonder why I don’t go more often. What movie should I see next?
Nivea Bona: Very full premiere of Chevalier. The theater is cozy and well organized.
Dan Peluso: Best cinema in Boston, by far. So much heart here, the lovely theaters and events will put the spirit of movies in your soul. They have plenty of events that show movie classics, and be sure to buy tickets for special events far in advance because they do pack the main theater. Movies typically start 15min after the online time.
Isaac Blodgett: Best theater ever. Absolutely worth the ticket price
Anke Roost: Great place!
Isaac Balinski: Great movie selection, great general atmosphere. Sign up for their newsletter to get a calendar of movies!
RoadTrip NewEngland: One of our favorite places to catch an indie flick in town. An historic an beautiful theatre, they run special film series, and the occasional crossover author reading from Booksmith across the street (I’ve seen John Waters, and Werner Herzog speak here in the past). It’s become our go to theatre for every new Wes Anderson movie- and you’ll find their schedule full of art films, foreign language, and independent cinema releases. Lots to do, shop, and eat in Coolidge Corner- so make a whole afternoon for it. Located on the C Line of the Green Line, it’s also easily reached via bus from Allston and Brookline Village.
Ahmed Eid: Small theatre feels like hanging out in your living from, but with better scree, sounds, and strangers.
Valentine: Cinéma traditionnel magnifique
Ramon Ham: I'm impressed with this place.!!! Very nice. Me quede impresionado con este lugar!! Muy bonito.
J. Mark Carper,_Ed.D.: Love this old place ... I've watched movies, performed (in Coolidge Corner Community Chorus) and win a fabulous baby shower cake in this place. In my way again, tonight, to see a film with my son, NC-Y ❤️
Ken Yin: If you ever want to experience cinema, by that I mean the good old fine cinema, this is the place. All the masters work from Stanley Kubrick to Akira Kurosawa… the best of the best!
Jim Bowley: The Coolidge Corner Theatre, long an institution for its curation of interesting film an cinema is even more essential now in its programming in a world in which streaming services openly proclaim “90 minutes or less” or “60 minutes of less” as the right timing gates for engaging in great film. There are some films that deserve the kind of focus, concentration and engagement that you only get when you invest the time to watch closely. The Coolidge Corner is best in the metro at curating these experiences through selected new releases, film festivals but most important classic films not played elsewhere. I’ve been seeing films here for years but never appreciated it more than today.
Brian Fox: Another amazing Brookline gem. Best independent movie theater in the countr!
Coral Ashley: Love the Coolidge xx
sean: “If you don’t go to this theater, you aren’t cool.”-Johnathan Fitzgerald Kennedy (local)
Dianne Kaeli: I love this place.
Johanna Hughes: Fabulous venue
Duncan Grant: As enjoyable as the movies themselves

Somerville Theatre: what do users think?
Albert Sisson: Lovely old theatre. Seats are very narrow. Small stage. Parking is difficult. Small municipal lot near by, T station next door.
Shena the Diva: What an amazing venue! It's quite charming and quaint in it's historical way! I personally want to thank Amanda, Ms. Connie and the phenomenal Usher's for their extreme support, care and attention to detail. They made my personal challenge, "To Get Out of My Way" really to work! I came out to see the beautifully talented Sona Jobarteh in not such good weather and some kind of crazy traffic jam, but I made it! What an unforgettable and mesmerizing performance! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Bravo! ❤
SC: Very kind staffs, good event : independent film festival
Paula Collins: Fun little theater. Parking was easier than expected in Davis Square too!
Ivo Floyd: Great Atmosphere and helpful staff
Anthony F: Great venue and experience. It is a small place inside, so be wary when the house is full, but the snack bar and options are plentiful. The floor is sticky, so be prepared to have a bit of a tough time while getting to your seats.
Luke Malone: vintage theater, great vibes, great film selection. good popcorn with real butter, beer on tap, kind staff. had an experience getting a flat tire a few blocks away when I had tickets to a movie, staff was kind and understanding, gave vouchers since we missed 80% of the movie going out to get a tow. would be back regardless but it meant a lot on a rough evening.
Cream Tee: We went to see Sona Jobarteh conceryamd had a good experience. Staff was nice and parking lot is close by. The only issue is the seats are a tight fit. Other than that everything was great!
gypsy girl: I remember going to this movie theater as a little girl . I sat up in the balcony and saw pippi longstockings in the '70s it was one of my best childhood memories the movie theater has not changed much! I thoroughly enjoyed the movie we saw!
Saul Horowitz: Best movie theater in the Boston area.
Sherie C: More a testament of the times than the venue, the crowd was very obnoxious.
Charlie Lindler (King Recycle): Great cute theater.
Federico Stoppato: Old style movie theater. Boring draft on people's neck
Øystein R.: I love it, it's everything that's great about cinema. Fantastic old main theater and gloriously divy smaller ones in the basement. Good beer selection
Sami Shahin: Saw Cocaine Bear here a few weeks ago. Saw The Hateful Eight on film here YEARS ago. Love this place
Gino Geruntino: Nice venue, though you should be prepared for a tight squeeze into their theater seats.
sara: Lovely theater. It's not very large but the atmosphere was pleasant. Hated that there was no parking for the event nearby but that's just the area I suppose.
Ryan Forest: elite
Radio OfHorror: Amazing theater Ian and his staff run a great theater with amazing events. Love coming here for the for Boston Sci-fi Film Fest
Justin Spognardi: Charming and historic local theater I always prefer to see movies at if I can. Four stars because the man behind the counter was very rude and short with my friend and I last night and we were both put in a bad mood for the evening because of it. Ill be back, but I felt I had to share.
Rob Gant: My favorite place to see films. Especially indie and experimental stuff.

Huntington Avenue Theatre: what do users think?
Bill Barnert: Love the new renovations! There are actually fewer seats now, so they'd be more comfortable. And the red & green lights on the bathroom stalls to tell you which are in use is brilliant.
Jeffrey Basch: Beautifully updated theater with good lines of site.
Bob Harrison: Great theater, great renovated space... Creative take on gender neutral restrooms with a concept that works!
David Zabner: My favorite theater in Boston. They never miss!
Michel DiPalma: Seems to be recently redone. Newer seats. Polite staff..and well managed..

Paul Griffin: Great theater, where you feel close to the action. Clyde's was excellent.
Danny van der Rijn: Show was good but the new seats were very uncomfortable
Alexander “LEX” Smith: NewLy Restored HuntingTon Theater! Saw the show “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” by August Wilson. Brand new seats 💺 and ReFurbished Auditorium. Check it out!!!
Phylly Goodman: Powerful performance by gifted actors. A "Must See" while in Boston!!
S N: Went to see Jo Turner's come and gone. The show was terrific. The theater after renovations is very clean and well organized. The seats are comfortable. I like that they have lights in front of each bathroom stall to show which one is empty.
Comfy Chris: I watched a play here called “Good People” back in 2012. It was an excellent production.
Darby Smotherman: Theatre!!
J.C. Denton: They check your vaccine status to enter. This is the opposite of freedom for the patron. Yes, the theatre people have the freedom to do this, but we also have the freedom to boycott them! To hell!
robert walters: 3.5 hours? Really?
P KING: The Bluest Eye. If you wonder if a Toni Morrison book can be made into a play and convey the depth and power of TM's work the answer is YES.This is the best theatre experience I've had in quite a while. I was honored to experience it. Thank you
Jerry Burnside: Being remodeled
Daniel Levin: Love this place
Louis Vanson: 3 yrs agowent for a twosetviolin concert, wonderful experience and interior
Ronnie Floyd: Under construction 🏗

Lyric Stage Company of Boston: what do users think?
Tabitha Brown: Love the Lyric! Comfy and cool place! Great atmosphere and staff!
Perla Walling REALTOR: I purchased season tickets and enjoyed every play! I'll be getting season tickets again:)
Hilary Croach: Wonderful theater. Every seat is a good seat!
Kristin S.: Very cute and intimate theater experience! We saw Sister Act here last night, and it was a lovely performance by a talented group. Sound and lighting could be improved, but I don't expect Broadway-level quality for this type of theater space, so it did not detract from the experience for me. The show was fun, the theater was unique, and the staff were all lovely. Since I am a person who ALWAYS has to pee, I must also mention that the ladies room was clean. 😁
Maryanne Katz: The Great Leap had Incredible acting and addressed a very interesting part of our history with China in a very entertaining way. Language is occasionally vulgar. It’s a small venue so every seat is good.
Christopher Rhodes: A gorgeous black box theater in downtown Boston. Seats comfortable, staff friendly, putting on great productions.
D. Daniel: Awesome show (Preludes) today! Meaningful, fun, and unique storytelling with such a talented crew. Hurry and buy your tickets!
C Renee Knott: Amazing small theatre! Amazing cast, very well staffed, comfy seating and a variety of shows to choose from! We cannot wait to go back!
Jorge Garcia: Excellent show, very well produced with superior set & stage designFine, unusually intimate theater experiencePleasant lobby, snack, & restroom areas handsomely decorated with theatrical posters
Fatima Baig: My favorite theater in Massachusetts! My husband and I have watched three different productions here and they were brilliant!
Michael Cranston: Mua Xuan Cua Be Lovepatrina
Frank O'Donnell: Spectacular space, and what a terrific show! THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG!
m brown: Very high quality performance of The Fabulists. Small intimate venue. Small crowd at a Wednesday matinee.
Vladimir: Little gem in the city
Bill Barnert: THE BOOK OF WILL: Great show ... I would not have guessed how engrossing discussions about publishing a book of Shakespeare's plays would be!
Susan Harrington: Very responsible regarding COVID attendance requirements.
Jd Lewis: Great place! So clean!
Miguel Bennasar: One of the best local production companies, love their work!
Jennifer G: Lovely, intimate Theatre, not a bad seat in the house! The actors know who to work the stage and play to each audience member.
Nicole Smith: I went to see the world premiere of Mr. Parent, which was excellent! And I am excited about several of the other shows this season and plan to return. One thing I appreciate about this theater is that they provide multiple ways for people to be able to see shows at a discount or for free - making the arts accessible is something I think is very important. There is also a parking garage on the next block that has $10 evening parking.Finding the entrance was the only glitch. There is a flag on the outside of the building, but the night we went (which was right before a blizzard, so perhaps different than typical, I am not sure) there were no signs by the doors or visible walking from the parking garage down Stuart St. We went around the corner and a woman on her bike helped us know where to go. Walking back up Stuart, we went into the alcove and up into the building (which has stairs up into it and looks like an apartment or office building). Tucked into an an archway inside the alcove was a sign for the theater. The theater space is intimate and a great place to see a show.
annette jacobs: Cozy, intimate local repertoire theater doing a wide variety of plays.

Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre: what do users think?
Suzanne Frey: Classic and intimate. Beautifully maintained!
Zach Moses: Well run classic ornate theatre in the theatre district
Annemarie Tompsen: Wonderful location for shows. Be careful of balcony seats if you have concerns about stairs. Would recommend leaving plenty of time to get seated as there is often a line out the door before shows start, Lobby isn't too big.
Chris Edwards: Beautiful theater. Great acoustics. Amazing decor. To paraphrase the host of the show we went to see, it's like seeing a performance inside a Faberge egg.
I Rush: Great seats almost everywhere in the theater. Good acoustics
Cynthia Perry: Nice theater
annette jacobs: Saw an amazing show. DrumFolk. Definitely see it. Incredibly creative, beautiful, educational, important!
Jesse W. Vlacich: Live music here 🔥🔥🔥
George Ware IV (ABostonArtist.com): Beautiful theater!
Sarah Simmons: Great old fashioned theatre.. I enjoyed Champion
Ann Whitney Sands Freeman: Never have I enjoyed a performance more. Outstanding, an experience worth the wait.
ML Older: Small ornate theater with great sound for musicals and plays.
Henry Quinn: Wonderful old over the top Rococo inspired theater. The acoustics in particular were great -- it's a medium sized room that feels intimate but tricks your brain into believing it's huge. Right in the middle of a lot of terrible Boston clubs, but the world takes all kinds, I suppose. Park in the Common garage, but but your entry ahead of time.
Amber D: Such a magnificent experience! From the ushers to the performer, one you step inside, your reminded of the magnitude of the vibrations felt on stage, no matter what seat is chosen.
Chris Moos: Beautiful theater and the quality of acting and music is outstanding
Steve M: Enjoyed the show, but also the legroom is better and seating more comfortable than many other area theatres.
S N: Went to see what the constitution means to me. It was great. The seats were comfortable. The bathroom was clean.
Beatrice Kelsey-Watts: Lovely theater, no drinks service still.
Leah Klein: Beautiful mid-sized theatre. Comfortable seats and friendly staff. See anything from plays and small scale circus to dance and concerts here.
El Has Campeador: Almost human, almost the old days, except for the masks and Vax passports.Still awesome acoustics. Great place to listen to music.I miss normal.
Morgan Ploch: The Christmas Celtic Sojourn is a can’t miss! Wonderful production! The theatre is beautiful and I felt very safe with the vaccine verification and mask monitoring. Only complaint (not enough to dissuade attending again) was hearing sirens and car horns during the show.

Citizens Bank Opera House: what do users think?
Arthur Abelowitz: Sound was poor and theater was cold
Linda Lyerly: Grand entrance and not a bad seat in the house. I've been to several performances at this theater, sat in a different section every time, and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for Playbill touring shows without all the fuss and expense, this is the place to be! Venue staff are accommodating, the seats are relatively comfortable, parking can be a pain so take the Uber, and be sure to have your vaccination card as this is one of the few venues still strictly enforcing the mask up/vaccinate policy.
Daniel Sabbatelli: Consistently great cuisine in a pleasant setting
Maria Bareiss: This is a gorgeous theater. There are a lot of stairs, but there ARE elevators! The lobby gets crowded but that's normal. The stage was easy to see, the sound was phenomenal, and the ushers were very, very helpful! Park in the garage on Lafayette and pay in advance at the cashier's office. Very conveniently located.
robert pascucci: Absolutely Loved it!
SometimesLv x: Beautiful theater, amazing show! Leaving is very crowded so be patient and hang back because it takes a while for everyone to bottle neck down the stairs and out... organized bathroom lines / great audio sound system acoustics.
Nathaniel Taylor: Each time I go it is well organized and clean. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable
cliff utstein: Amazing venue, but some of the seats are broken
Lisa K Holsberg: Great venue! The sound is great.
Louphye Cayemite: I never go there
Scott G: My family went to see My Fair Lady at the Opera House. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The architecture is amazing and pretty good views from the seats. Nice variety of refreshments during intermission. Overall nice venue for a show.
Mark Palazzo: Wonderful venue. Great show.
Julie Kanach: Excellent front of house staff. Clean bathrooms, well organized. Beautiful theater.
Mary McCarthy: Just beautiful. Easy parking. Great show. Restaurants very close by.
Nancy Bleam: Amazing architecture. We had a great view from our seats. The sound system was great!
Tom Westheimer: The show was good, but the sound system was not great.
Peter Drougas: I would love to tour this place as a museum! Many of the not so great reviews are warranted. Sound system for voice made some wording difficult to gather.Seats are old, no cushion. Staff was okay, but seemed tired of dealing with the public. Especially people that have never been there before. We did not have to experience the bathroom limits. Although upon leaving found ourselves going down too far and being in the bathroom area.It was a slow walk with leaving. I can see how on a rainy day, no one clears the exit doors quickly enough to keep things flowing. But there was an Officer waving people on to cross the street. Which helped to clear the entry.I would plead with you to not stop in the middle of the traffic because you are not sure where to go. Please tuck yourself out of the way. Just saying!Otherwise a nice place to see and event.
Nitza Correia: Beautiful venue!
S BoweRs: Update: I do wish they would change what they offer in concessions. It's quite annoying to return from intermission to the sounds of rustling bags of candy. Perhaps they could get the plastic containers of candies that the Emerson Colonial Theater sells. It makes such a difference! It felt like coming home today - so glad to have theater back! Very impressed with the vaccination verification process and the efforts of staff to remind everyone to start masked. Thank you for all your hard work!!
Sofia Briskin: The building is amazing which gives you an atmosphere of a real holiday
Pablo Mazo: Excelente
