Center For Anxiety and Related Disorders: what do users think?
Lisa D.C.: If their intake process is any indication of how this organization is run, I would avoid this center at all costs. After filling out paperwork and then rehashing concerns for my little one for over 20 minutes, they nonchalantly shared that the program was not a good fit. The delivery of this information was so cold and scripted, it was awful! They should do a better job training their screeners as they are the first contact person and parents and individuals are going through a hard time to begin with!
Julie Palleschi: I went through the program at CARD recently and found it to be one of the best experiences and things I have ever done for myself. I have lived with anxiety almost my whole life and sometimes it was crippling. This programs and the clinicians here were outstanding in teaching me the tools to work with my anxiety and be more productive and a better version of myself. I use the tools they taught me daily and I am a better person for having went through this program. I highly recommend it.
Bob Ciccolo: Great Website !! Your Group will help many people !!
MCI: These people change lives.
Darian Radzikowski: I had a great experience with exposure therapy for my crippling phobia at CARD. Honestly never thought life could be like this for me, but despite the long wait time — it was worth the treatment!
Kristen K: I had such a great experience at CARD. I had a lifelong medical phobia and I was so scared to even go in for the intake. I had anxiety for a week beforehand even though I knew the intake wouldn't even begin the treatment. They were so kind and put me at ease and were very sensitive to my anxiety. Exposure therapy sounded really scary, but it wasn't! By the time we did the exposures I was ready to handle them with the help of my counselor. I saw a student in training and she was absolutely wonderful! Reasonable fees as well based on income and the credential of who you see there. After about 20 sessions I was cured and am still cured almost two years later. I used to have severe fainting responses from even hearing people talk about any medical thing. I even got a concussion from fainting which is what made me seek help at CARD.Now it's not just that I can cope better with medical situations -- they just do not bother me at all! I was able to take my daughter to get her ears pierced and help take care of my husband after a minor surgery (both during my treatment at CARD) and those things were on my "never can do this" list. Today I got my COVID vaccine with zero anxiety before or after, and I also didn't have to fear fainting in a room with a LOT of other people. THANK YOU, CARD!!!
Michael Coughlin: The way that I was treated by this organization was despicable. I approached the BU center for anxiety related disorders to let them know that I was suffering from acute agoraphobia and panic symptoms. It took weeks to get started and the 6.5 hours of questions told them when I told them from the outset: that i had acute agoraphobia and panic symptoms, which I needed treatment for weeks and months prior to this. They claimed I was irritable and perhaps hypomanic at a later date, but I was simply irritated by how much of a hassle it was to get the care I needed from them. Going to a psychiatrist directly would have been a much easier path to deal with acute symptoms. It’s my belief that BU CARD is more appropriate for someone with chronic symptoms. As my panic and agoraphobia symptoms were going away on my own through my own exposure therapy, Things went sideways when i had to go to my primary care physician for medication because they failed to schedule the medication consultation I had requested weeks prior. The doctor gave me Paxil, which triggered a hypomanic episode and it was great that BU caught it right away.At first it seemed liked they were helping me because during this period of psychiatric emergency when they recommended I go to the McLean Hospital partial hospitalization program, except they failed to connect with anyone directly and made no effort to introduce me to the organization. They basically just discharged me to figure it out on my own and I was never able to get in touch with someone at McLean even though I was in urgent need.Next, they introduced me to an outside therapist, who didn’t take any insurance, and who was unable to give me the appropriate care because she couldn’t prescribe meds and the person who could said there was 3 month wait. So this was just basically another dead end referral.Additionally, they told me if my symptoms got worse I could call their on call nurse practitioner, except when I called her to report such conditions she said she couldn’t help me because I was already discharged. So there you have it - I was experiencing a psychiatric emergency, they showed me the “virtual door” even though all of their referrals an suggestions were dead ends. If they had a heart; they would have made sure I got the connections and care I needed before me kicking me out of the program. At the very least, maybe they should have just told me go to the ER if the referrals fell through and take it from there, but there was no such guidance or care. I understand if they were unable to provide such level of care but it’s disgusting to give someone in urgent need a care the boot. All they had to do was make sure the plans worked out and maybe this whole incident could have been nipped in the bud. Instead, things got progressively worse over the next 2-3 weeks.
Brendan McIntosh: My friend who struggles with really bad anxiety was denied help. This is ridiculous. I heard the phone call and the doctor rudely hung up on my friend after hearing about his conditions. This is disgraceful. I am disgusted by the doctor who did this and I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you need help, do not come here!!!!
Brandon Cosby: I suffer from severe anxiety and severe ocd and have a hard enough time getting out of bed and getting through my day due to this so my mother and I called for help and my mom was reading good thing about this place but please trust me they don’t care the Poor”“specialist“ dr Berel said he wouldn’t help me because I’m ““ disabled““ I suffer from albinism so he refused too see then hung up abruptly and wouldn’t return my calls until I said I was going to be reporting him so it just goes to show they don’t care about their patients now I’m still gonna have to struggle to live my life
Steve Shannon: I am happy to say that after two weeks at the center working with Dr Hu, I’ve overcome a lifelong fear of flying. This fear has prevented me from ever flying on an airplane, and at 65 years of age, the long drives for vacations were becoming problematic. After working with Dr Hu and with Nate, a private pilot, I was able to take my first commercial airplane flight with little to no difficulty whatsoever. I was so relaxed I was even able to fall asleep on my return flight . I am very grateful for the work the professionals do at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone dealing with anxiety issues.
Nora Amir: They don't seem interested in helping those who need it the most and insert arbitrarily rules in order to qualify which leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I doubt that they will do their best to help you.
SLL: This is a great place with great people. They care deeply about the suffering of others and will go the extra mile to help those in need
Sam Stuart: They really don't care about correct diagnosis, long term outcome, follow up with patients and can actually be incorrect or downright ignorant "professionals". Do not recommend. I was a patient there and did a approximately 14 session therapy. That is what I base my review on.
Mike B: This place does not truly care about people suffering from significant anxiety disorders, despite the hype. I went here and was assigned a grad student who was extremely difficult to get along with(not just my opinion), wanted to argue frequently; let alone do therapy with her-which was a waste off time while it lasted. I kindly asked to be assigned a different student and the supervisor REFUSED for no valid reason and discharged me to fend for myself with my serious anxiety disorder. Attn: BUCARD - start caring about patients and get serious about the help you are offering, or lack of!

Health Psychology Associates of Boston: what do users think?
Victoria D'Angelo: so awful at communicating and not a good clinician. i told dr. greve about a traumatic situation and she did not provide any helpful feedback - all she did was shame me. not to mention i was billed a full year and half after services a near $600 without communicating that to me. and they claimed they reached out but never did. dr. greve was a waste of my time and money.
Lena U: There is absolutely no communication with them. I've written an email requesting an appointment as well as called them. Not only are they hard to reach, but they charged me a no-show fee when there was no communication or details on how to even attend the Telehealth appointment. I am baffled that a firm that is supposed to provide therapy is so difficult to work with.

Thriveworks Counseling: what do users think?
Kyle Collins (thepaplin): Jennifer Kneeland is fantastic and professional!
Mona Bazargani: I don’t know if this is a legitimate clinic or not, regardless I need therapy just for their mind numbing scheduling process. I’ve called this place to get an appointment with Dr. cavallaro three times. Each time they’ve kept me on the phone for minimum 45mins to an hour because they had to ask everything about me from my childhood origins to my daily life issues… to then never send me an appointment confirmation. The third time they told me, they think this doctor doesn’t take new patients but they’re not sure so they’ll call me. You think they ever called me back? When you call the exact location# it still goes to their general dispatch team which is outsourced to other states. I can confidently say this place is the Comcast of therapists.
Heidi Gonzalez: I had the pleasure of working with Kadesha Turnbull and was able to see the wonderful and amazing clinician that she is! She was always attentive to her client’s needs and built a strong rapport with them. She is also a wonderful person to work with as she was always open to collaborate and communicate with others, as well as take any input from others.
Julisa Curet: Kadesha Turnbull is a wonderful clinician! I had the privilege to work alongside her, and thus am able to say that her ethics and character shines in her work. Kadesha is a clinician who produces lasting impact to her client's lives.
Greg Bodenair: I have had such a poor experience with the Thriveworks Counseling support team. I have called on multiple occasions trying to get clarification on whether or not the clinician I was trying to see accepted my insurance, and then had further questions about billing that have gone unanswered after numerous attempts to get answers. VERY UNHAPPY with my experience.
Courtney D: Dr. Cavallaro is a true credit to psychologists everywhere. I worked with her for two years, and the breadth and depth of her knowledge and insight is astounding. She brings an authentic, intelligent, fun, empathetic, reassuring, empowering presence to her patients. She meets people where they are at, and helps them to get to where they want to be. She continually strives to increase her knowledge, and application, of evidence based therapeutic modalities in order to provide top quality care. To put it frankly, she is the absolute best!
Robyn Hacker: I worked closely with Dr. Cavallaro for two and a half years. She is a skilled psychologist who seeks out additional training and deploys evidence based treatments working with clients. Dr. Cavallaro is also a very skilled evaluator and writes thorough evaluations answering complex questions. She is passionate about her work and excels working with people with substance use disorders and trauma histories.
Katie Larkin: Dr. Cavallaro is a phenomenal clinician. I have had the privilege of working with her professionally for three years. She is passionate in her practice and exudes empathy and compassion. Dr. Cavallaro is committed to her own professional growth and development which makes her that much greater of a psychologist for those she serves. She has been a primary referral for patients seeking support with substance abuse, trauma, grief, and coping skills. Her ability to treat the whole person using evidence based approaches is inspiring!
James Wilson: Dr Rachel Cavallaro is a prime example of how to be a person let alone a doctor, very professional , compassionate and attentive!
Kat Wilson: Dr. Rachel Cavallaro is professional and compassionate. Dr. Cavallaro is attentive and intuitive. You can tell she has passion for what she does. Dr Cavallaro really helps you work towards solutions that feel natural. I would recommend her to anyone.
Cole E: Dr. Cavallaro is a true professional who takes pride in her work. You can tell straight away and it makes all the difference. When someone truly cares about what they do, it shines in all areas.
Brian Friedopfer: Dr. Cavallaro was extremely professionally and really helped me. She made me feel comfortable the entire time and really helped me figure some things out.
Eric Anderson: Finding a quality psychologist can be incredibly stressful, but Dr. Cavallaro made the entire process simple and went above and beyond to accommodate my irregular schedule. I really appreciate her level of professionalism and compassion and I would recommend her to anyone.
Kyle Griffin: Rachael Cavallaro is simply the best there is in her field. Dr. Cavallaro is highly professional, a highly skilled listener, relates extremely well and provides solutions that are truly collaborative and creative. Her vast knowledge has led to accelerated growth. She is the kind of professional one comes across once in a lifetime. I highly recommend her services!
justin levy: Dr. Cavallaro is fantastic! Made me feel very comfortable.
Tanya Byrd: I would recommend Kim to anyone who needs a compassionate therapist. She exhibits amazing skill, humility and kindness.... Awesome Experience!
Brooke Wilder: Kimberly is top notch! Kind, compassionate, and attentive, which are all the qualities you would hope for in a therapist.
Pam Elgot: Kim makes me feel like I'm her #1 priority and I feel like she knows what she is talking about. Very caring.
heidi colon: I've worked with Kim, and let me tell you till this day clients still want her back, she is a great counselor and a great co-worker and a motivator.
Sonya Simkins: Really blown away by Kim's passion for social work. Incredibly smart, funny, and compassionate. Always puts a smile on my face when I talk to her.
Mike Nappo: I was Kim's clinical Supervisor for several years. She is a top notched Social Worker who knows her stuff. Add that to her great interpersonal skills and your have the whole package.

Thriveworks Counseling Boston: what do users think?
wes imel: Highly recommend Azizi Carle - a relatable & wise therapist
D A: Thriveworks is a scam. They are still charging me after I cancelled my membership with them. I had to cancel my membership because they said they provided a service that was non-existent
K B: I was told they offered ADHD diagnosis over the phone. So i booked 2 appointments and none of them were able to provide the diagnosis. They will lie to you over the phone to get you to sign up for their membership. The membership is $35 a month and $100 one time payment.
Mekah Allen: Do not work with this company, they are non responsive for weeks on end regarding billing issues and will charge your account with no written explanation why.
Luke Parker: Amanda Wayne is a God send
kira mcelroy: Amanda Wanye helped me so much!
Jessica Allen: Update: mom finally got her money back months later. My mom had an wonderful experience with her counselor but billing screwed her out of hundreds of dollars and won't pay her back! We've gone back and fourth for months. It doesn't matter if the counselor is great if billing is so unorganized that they can't tell you before you sign up that you are out of network!
Kelly Saramago: Kirsten is a wonderful provider who practices with such compassion & integrity. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a clinician!
Thomas Goldberger: Re: Kirsten Lowell.I am an Addiction Specialist physician and worked in a clinic with her for several years. She was Director of Substance Abuse and Medication Assisted Therapy and my direct supervisor. Superlatives are the only way to describe her. She demonstrated extraordinary wisdom, compassion, leadership and knowledge of the important issues. She has the intuitive and clinical skills that accurately hone in on an individual's issues. She is non judgemental and caring.Thomas Goldberger, MD
Kristy LaRocca: I have known Daniell Cohen (one of Thriveworks' counselors), for over a decade and she is one of the kindest, warmest, most open-hearted and non-judgmental people I have had the fortune of knowing. Daniell cares deeply about her clients and is highly invested in providing a therapeutic environment where clients will feel safe, seen, heard, and supported toward reaching their goals and finding meaningful growth. I highly recommend her.
Leah Sandy: Have had a great experience with ThriveWorks since starting a year ago. It was easy to start as a new patient and they have flexibility to when they can do appointments.
Diana M. Galindo: I started therapy on April and my therapist Madeline Lydon is amazing. She has helping me a lot through y healing process
Emma Locke: Daniell is extremely compassionate, kind and caring. She creates a safe space for all and provides empathetic and thoughtful feedback.
Kara Murphy: Daniell is one of the most empathetic people I know. She is supportive, caring and insightful. Daniell creates a safe space for folks to be open and vulnerable.
Haley Roth: I couldn't recommend Daniell more highly! She is an empathetic listener, thoughtful and creative in her response and approach.
Cristiane “Cris” Salvino: Never told me I had to cancel the subscription which I didn’t even know it was a subscription, so they kept charging my account for $39. Called today to see if they could at least refund what was taken out today and they told me they couldn’t because I agreed to the subscription, and that it wasn’t their job to tell me to call and cancel I should’ve known. Pathetic!!
Joe Rogers: Tyler Schlicht is a great listener who offers great insight and advice on managing my stress and anxiety. Highly recommended for anyone who needs someone to listen and offer constructive advice.
Christina Gervais: They said our insurance covered the sessions to get us on board with them. AFTER DOING 3 SEASONS They informed us that our insurance is not contracted with them and said WE have to pay out of pocket We ended up with HUGE BILL because of there mistake. They didnt compromise And they automatically took it out the balance without talking to me or reaching a compromise awful awful place. Please stay clear so upset about this. I feel like they tell you at first that they accept ypur insurance only to get you signed up and purposely leave you with a bill a HUGE one 3 seassions later..UPDATE: I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE EVEN AFTER THIS RESPONSE 03/31/21
Greyson Andrews: Had to cancel an appointment because of work last minute and was charged $100. In the middle of a pandemic while people are struggling, this is adding insult to the already injured. Will not use thriveworks again.
Paige Fehskens: I am currently seeing Liz Thompson and I absolutely love her. She has incredible compassion, knowledge, insight, and experience. Liz is patient and optimistic yet realistic. She seeks deeper connections and is constantly looking to change as you need and as you experience both setbacks and moments of growth. I look forward to continuing my sessions with her.
Jennifer Yerks: Sarah Kalny is an amazing therapist. I have seen her in action as a co-worker and fellow mental health counselor. I recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist that will help you grow in an empathetic non-judgmental space. Sarah is kind, compassionate and responds to each individual’s needs. Sarah is passionate about her work and cares about her clients. I highly recommend her if you are looking for an individual mental health therapist.

Dr David Dybdal, MD, PhD: what do users think?
Jean Kracher: Thankfully I have been a client of Dr. Dybdal for more than 10 years. He has helped me navigate the throes of mental illness with his knowledge of medication combinations, keen diagnostic skills, wisdom and expertise of both conventional and alternative treatment modalities. It was through the application of these interventions and his sincere compassion that I have enjoyed being healthy for more five years. He has helped me with such things as overcoming trauma, grief, anxiety and depression where others were never able to help me transcend these issues. I have also learned some very important and basic concepts such as advocating for myself, setting boundaries, accepting myself, and realizing I am important as an individual. I am grateful for his help and the integration of assistance he has recommend through other providers and modalities. I strongly recommend Dr. Dybdal for his skillful, empathic and sensitive talents of the practice of psychiatry both as a psycho-pharmacologist and therapist.

Great counselor and a great company with which to work.

Philippe Gallier: Jess is the best listener! She really cares about your feelings. She is super empatheticGo see her!!!
Lisa Clarey: Today after 5 weeks of pleading and cajoling I managed to get my 19 year old autistic child to call Thrive in order to give them the verbal permission they required to enable me to make him an appointment. He was told by Thrive that this had been noted in his record. Upon calling tonight I was told that he would need to verbally authorize again. The kid is disabled, very shy, and had a meltdown. To h&&& with you, Thrive. Way to kick a person when they are down. You were recommended to me by BCBS, and you can depend on me to give them feedback on this terrible experience.
