Boston Ballet School: what do users think?
Madeline Hsu:
Jennifer Guan: Good for classes and dancing
Peter Houston: Great place for ballet enthusiasts.
Robin Abdallah-Doukkara: Great classes, amazing instructors, safety plans for social distancing , virtual class options for those who do not want to go in person for class!
Scott Davis: Great school with professional staff and positive vibes
Jim Granville-Wilmot: This place shows outstanding service towards their clients and the public. Highly recommend.
Jeanne Fuller-Jones: always a fantastic experience. Full on Forsythe was amazing!!
Chelsey Anderson: I went to the adult classes here for about 6 years off and on. I grew up doing ballet, and love the adult classes here. It's often hard to find high quality adult classes because the students have a very wide range in abilities, and the classes do a good job of designing and choreography that is both challenging but also intuitive to learn. I really enjoy class with Arthur Leeth, his choreography is great and his combinations are beautiful and challenging and really fun to do. Excellent experience.
Rohit Pal: This is really amazing placeAnd the studio fabulous
Miguel A. Velazquez: George is an incredible instructor. A true master in the art of ballet. To have a maestro play the piano live in every single class is a gift. I continue to learn and be inspired with this class.
Dianys Mendez: Very good
Kathy Marco: I take adult classes and its my favorite place to be. The teachers, the music the students. An hour and a half of pure joy plus and incredible workout.Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!
teka: Poop
Rose: I absolutely love both the Boston Ballet Company and the classes. I take adult beginner classes and the teachers are SO kind and helpful. The atmosphere of the adult classes is very friendly and welcoming and you don't feel judged for your level or body type. I have had such a wonderful experience and have met so many wonderful people. Also, I love going to the ballet. They are top notch quality and have the highest level of excellence in technique and musciality. So inspiring! Check them out either for a ballet performance or for classes! Young and old are welcome at Boston Ballet!
Temi Ogunbodede: I work here and I sincerely LOVE it! I gave my parents my complimentary tickets to see "Sound of Shades" and they loved it!!!
Kalah Williams: I am in the Boston ballet I just have it stared yetI am so happy to be going there!
Dr. J. G.: Somehow it does seem that four stars should be more than liked it, and five should be absolutely superlative. With Boston Ballet there were some very precious and treasured evenings of watching lovely performances. The first time we went a colleague had invited and Rudolf Nureyev was to perform in Don Quixote with Paris Ballet, and all dressed up with high expectations off we went. Halfway through the performance I was wondering why the title performer seemed less of an attraction and the young lover more so, was I not artistic enough to know subtleties of ballet? I had assumed Nureyev would be doing the title role. Then on it was an addiction not easily satisfied what with meagre economic resources and high costs of the evening, but then a few years later it became possible, just about, and I went ballistic, buying a year's subscription when offered on phone. So it began for the short year that it was. There was the eternal superlative Swan Lake, and that was the first one we saw, with me a friend with her Russian heritage and therefore much more knowledgeable in ballet. I loved it, she had seen better and merely said she had as much or more fun watching me.I don't remember which was the third one, because Sleeping Beauty I saw in NY with American Ballet, but in Boston I recall vividly performance of Romeo and Juliet, with its poignant music and its conception of Death as a character. In between I was fortunate enough to see a film about Kirov Ballet in downtown Boston, and a performance of Swan Lake by Bolshoi on cable - then it was new - in the friend's home on their small television. It was a revelation, and remains the peak of my ballet appreciation so far. What with beginning with Nureyev in Paris Ballet and finale with Bolshoi, still, the Boston Ballet with the two memorable performances we saw remain memorable. The music, watching them take flight as swans and perform as humans, everything fairy tale. As it is meant to be.
Laura Pagluica: Every performance by the Boston Ballet is spectacular. The recent production of Swan Lake was better than even expected, with brand-new costumes and set. And of course the Boston Ballet Nutcracker is a Boston tradition.
Cassi Norgaisse: Their world-class performances are not too be missed. New home at the Boston Opera House is simply magnificent. The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition.

Integrarte: what do users think?
Oneness: Their studio is not the biggest one in Boston area, but they are probably the most professional ballet teachers and dancers I met for adult ballet class, both Carlos and Erica are very nice and encouraging. Every time I took Erica’s class, I can feel her positive vibe. She did every demo throughly, every student, from very basic beginner level to very advance pre-professional one , will learn from her. She is very patient to correct your posture, and knows exactly those common mistakes students usually will make. For adult students like me, ballet is very good and important exercise for mind and body, and taking class in Integrarte is always a good experience.
Kevin J. Smith: Magnificent!
Maria Berte: My daughter just finished two weeks of summer intensive training at Integrarte, and we could not have chosen a better place. She found great ballet classes taught by Carlos Molina and Erica Cornejo, as well as an engaging Jazz class. The level of instruction is excellent; the teachers share their passion for dance create a very friendly, safe and kind environment where students feel encouraged to enjoy dancing, and explore their abilities.I highly recommend Integrarte.(A plus: This academy lets you choose the weeks of the summer in which to enroll, making it easier to plan trips and other family activities).
Jane W: It's one of the best and most welcoming places that I've been to. Carlos and Erica are so established but they are so nice. In some places, the teachers only correct the students who dance well, or they act like they're looking, but they never bother with less experienced students. But you know, those students are the ones who need the most help! The teachers here really teach with passion, and you can see that they are truly happy people, and their energy fills the studio. There is a real difference between taking class here versus working out with teachers don't make it, not try hard enough, and always complain about students. Good teachers like Erica and Carlos don't come around often. I am so grateful that they make this quality of teaching accessible to the general public.
Shennar “Zher” S: Great place!
Daneris Cruz: I take the beginner class on Thursday. Erica and Carlos take turns teaching and they are both very nice and provide a lot of corrections. It's amazing because they are world class dancers so it's lovely to watch them demo the steps.
Clara Rodriguez: I absolutely love the location and ambience of this beautiful ballet studio. As you walk in you get this feeling of old and new. I recently went to visit my younger sister at one of her ballet classes. Being her first time starting ballet this school not only offers a class for beginners but they offer a follow up class beginners 2 that helps those who still don't feel confident to start the next step level to ballet. My sister was star struck when she heard Erica Cornejo from the Boston ballet was the owner of this fairly new school and one of the instructors. As I delved into the location I was warmly greeted by the owners upon speaking to them they told me that they not only offer ballet but have Yoga classes, as well as very unique dance classes like salsa, and Baroque.

Koltun Ballet Boston: what do users think?
Robin Ross: Our 12th grade daughter has been a student of Alex and Alexandra’s for almost 5 years. In that time, we have watched her ballet training sky rocket. She dances in the Level 7 pre-professional group, and the school was transformative for her. Aside from the stellar training, the care and knowledge she has received from her coaches and teachers, she has made life long friendships with other ballet students she spends her afternoons and weekends dancing with. Our daughter is pursuing a dance career, and we feel that there is no other school in the area that could provide her with the training and resources to successfully achieve her goals. Five years ago we put our trust in Koltun, and we have not be disappointed! If you are looking for a rigorous program where your dancer will participate in classical and contemporary performances and competitions such as YAGP and UBC, as well as receive the highest level of technique and training, our opinion is to look no further.
MC N: QUALITY AND CARING PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION FOR SERIOUS DANCERS - If you are reading this review, it is likely you are searching for a ballet school that is right for you. You may be looking for your child’s first ballet school, or thinking of moving from your current school. We found Koltun when looking to move. Our daughters entered Koltun’s level five and six after spending years at a big-name ballet school. While our former school had an admirable children’s program, it became evident that it was not teaching our daughters at the highest level as they progressed. Our previous school was associated with a professional ballet company, but none of its students were being selected to be in their pre-professional program. That raised eyebrows. If the school could not prepare its own students for success in its own company, why were we there? We looked to see where the students who were being selected were coming from. They were coming from Koltun. We decided to give Koltun a try. At first, we just dabbled by attending Koltun’s seven-week Summer Intensive Youth Program. The Koltun dancers were extremely flexible and more advance en pointe. In just seven weeks, our daughter noticeably improved. We decided to stay.Koltun is a school for dancers who are serious about classical ballet and modern dance, and want to perform and compete at the highest levels. Ms. Koltun herself was trained in classical ballet from legendary Kirov stars such as Irina Kolpakova, Tatiana Terekhova and Sergei Berejnoi. She was a principal dancer at Boston Ballet, and has toured Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine with the San Francisco Ballet. Ms. Koltun and her staff are passionate about dance.Koltun’s school seems to have stemmed from her successful and popular workshop on stretching called “Alexandra’s Ballet Stretch” which can still be viewed on YouTube today. Her school remains focused on stretching, flexibility, strength, and classical technique. What is it like at Koltun Ballet Boston? You will find a state-of-the-art facility with multiple studios. You will find small class sizes. You will receive individual attention from talented instructors. The instructors will push you to be your best, and they truly care about their students’ success. You will find a great group of kids who develop lasting friendships both inside and outside of the studio. You will find that Ms. Koltun has deep connections in the dance community, and is able to bring star choreographers to prepare modern dance ensembles that frequently earn top awards at prestigious competitions such as the famous Youth America Grand Prix. Koltun routinely wins the Outstanding School Award at these prestigious events. Many of the students go on to enter professional companies around the world. All of the students learn to be the best they can be.If you are serious about ballet & modern dance, you should seriously consider Koltun Ballet Boston. I have seen reviews critical of this school after only attending for a few days. Those reviews are baseless. If they have you concerned, I suggest starting with the seven-week Summer Intensive Program. This program will introduce you to this outstanding school, its outstanding teachers, and its wonderful students.
F Conway: I highly recommend Koltun Ballet Boston’s training. My daughter has learned and improved so much these past 2 yrs in their pre professional program! The teachers have so much passion and care for the students
Peng Xu: Koltun is a place for kids who truly love ballet. My daughter has been dancing at Koltun since she was 4. All the teachers are very dedicated and professional. The teachers care about each and every student in their class. The community is all very supportive of each other.
Dorothy Mills: We had a wonderful experience at KBB! Tremendous support and technique provided by experienced teachers and mentors. This school trains beautiful dancers with amazing futures! Highly recommended!!
LI YIN: My daughter is 13 years old and she attended the summer camp of Koltun Ballet in July 2022. During 7 weeks, she believes that she has greatly improved her ballet technique. Before that, she studied ballet in another school with big name in Boston. She officially enrolled in Level 6 study in September 2022. She is very willing to study here and has never missed a class.Studying at Koltun Ballet is demanding, with great attention to detail. For a mother who accompanied her child to learn ballet in two countries, I understand very well. For a ballet dancer, she pursues every movement as perfect as possible. At the same time, training in strict accordance with the requirements will prevent children's feet from being injured. Once my daughter felt discomfort in her right foot, Teacher Natalia sat with her and checked her instep, ankle and toes. And told me that the day's class would reduce her to some training. My daughter is very willing to be with her Level 6 friends. After each training, they will happily chat for a while. There was a one-hour break in class on Wednesday, and that was the time when she was happiest. She thought it was an interesting time, and she even thought it was too short. Here, she also has the opportunity to enter Level 7 courses and rehearsals, so she can observe higher-level training. The teacher here is very responsible, Ms. Koltun took a long time to help my child choose right pointe shoes. Natalia would sit beside and teach her how to sew pointe shoes. The sewing requirements for beginners' pointe shoes are not the same as well-trained professional. Natalia would take my daughter to try and sew.During the months of studying in Koltun Ballet, they have performed 5 times. When my daughter performed at the BU dance theater for the first time, the senior students of Level 7 took good care of her and took her to the warm-up venue. Take her to see a photography exhibition. The photos on display were all taken by the photographer for the students of the school. It was raining heavily that day, and the care of her sisters from Level 7 made her feel very warm.In the school, photos of the students here during training and competitions are displayed. The current largest lounge has been decorated as a photography gallery. Every time I wait for my kid to finish class here, it is a wonderful art time.In the UBC and YAGP competitions in January and February 2023, all level students have achieved good results in both solo and ensemble. Koltun Ballet wins the best dance school in YAGP 2023 semifinal Boston, and Lesley Telford choreography awards. Ms. Koltun is the first one to send messages of congratulations and thanks to the children and parents.Whether it's performances or daily training, I can feel that the teachers here are proud of the students.❤️
consuelo del castillo: My daughter has attended Koltun Ballet Boston for a few years now. She loves the school, the environment and the friends that she has found there. The school is very serious, and it offers great training. It can be challenging at times but the enthusiasm that the teachers put in it is invaluable. We are overall very happy about Koltun Ballet Boston
Judith Steen: Koltun Ballet Boston is a school for kids who love dance or want an opportunity to become professional dancers. Alexandra and Alex, who teach senior professional students, have a strict work ethic and expect the students to work hard. Other outstanding teachers at the school include Natalie Clark and London Mills. They provide candid feedback and are highly dedicated to their students. Some of the teachers have won choreography awards, including London Mills. The school exposes the students to professional dancers through master classes and brings in notable contemporary and classical choreographers to work with the students. If your child needs support or has a problem, having an open discussion with Alexandra or the teachers results in action. The school won the 2023 best school award at the YAGP regional semi-finals.
Li Zhu: Amazing ballet school! my daughter loves learning dancing there since 2021!
liying tian: Absolutely The best ever!!
Tatiana Linscott: I usually don’t post reviews and especially negative ones, but this one had to be posted if nothing else but as a public service announcement. My experience at Koltun ballet lasted only 3 days during which I’ve witnessed Alexandra‘s never ending emotional rollercoasters and controlling behavior. She goes from smiling to screaming, from happy to angry in a matter of seconds. Everyone in the studio is tiptoeing and staying low in order to not provoke her into a rage. She justifies her behavior by telling the stories of her abusive ballet training back in the USSR. She told me that my daughter will be bullied unless she changes her hair color, and then she greeted us every day by the front door saying that she despises people who differentiate themselves in any way (and in this case was a hair bleach). My daughter had an hour break in her schedule between classes on Wednesdays, but was not allowed to be picked up or to go out, and instead all the girls were forced to stay in the extra room together and were told to do their homework. I haven’t seen any students chatting or walking in the hallways or smiling; it seems to be an intentionally strict, controlled environment to instill obedience in their students. We’ve been at the studio for only three days, but with so many red flags, it was clear that this place was not for us (or for anyone who pursues happiness and a healthy self worth). For reference, my daughter is 13 (placed into level 6 by Alexandra) started her dance career at the age of 2 at the Hawkins School of Performing Arts in CA. We’ve had a benefit of being an newcomer, an outsider with a positive previous experience, and my heart aches for those girls who grow up with studios like Koltun and don’t know any other way. Hopefully this review will save you a headache and a $500 non refundable deposit.
Jill Tays: Really thrilled with what they have given to my son—they totally brought him to the opportunity of going professional—great guidance and teaching
The Lambie Family: We came to KBB after my daughter found her previous studio unchallenging and not supportive. KBB immediately welcomed us into the family and made my daughter feel seen. The teaching is top notch in terms of not just technique and details, but also in discipline, independence, and confidence building. Classes are small enough that all the students get individualized attention. Ms Natalia is FANTASTIC as are Alexandra and Alex. They are supportive while believing in your dancer and pushing the dancers to be their absolute best. The change in my daughter's dancing was nothing short of spectacular as was the change in her personally. Even her posture improved! We love the KBB family and cannot say enough good things! If you are looking for a great environment and top notch training look no further! Highly recommend!
Natasha Clark: Perfect!!!
Olga Rolf: My husband and I came to Boston from San Francisco in November, 2019 to spend a few days with the family and had an opportunity to attend a class for the senior students at Koltun Ballet Boston. What a fantastic and absolutely inspiring experience it was!We were impressed by the way Alexandra Koltun could give a constructive, problem-focused feedback on her student’s performance while building their confidence, dedication, honesty, respect and commitment. She took the time to encourage each student to do their very best, and the students took pride in working hard to improve their routine every time they performed it.We could tell that the children had a great time! The skills and the values like team work, perseverance, confidence, the joy of dance, music and theater arts, imparted in each student will serve them well their entire life.Alexandra and Alex, have been well regarded in the World of Classical Ballet in the course of their impressive Professional Career, and they have also excelled as entrepreneurs and teachers by providing an outstanding technical training, instilling tremendous discipline in each student and creating a delightful learning experience for children.Their professionalism at the Koltun Ballet Boston is unparalleled. We saw first-hand how much coordination and effort it takes to put together the school like this! The staff is amazing as they have been kind and patient and have nurtured their students not only as dancers but as human beings and they all are wonderful inspirations to the kids. While watching the senior students rehearsing the Nutcracker, and in spirit of the Holiday Season, I thought of sharing a few facts about this magical ballet.Facts & History About the Nutcracker•The 1st production of The Nutcracker was to a sold-out show on December 18, 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.• The ballet is based on Alexandre Dumas’s (of Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo fame) adaption of E.T.A. Hoffman’s 1916 German fairytale called “The Nutcracker and The Mouse King.” The original story was too dark and scary for children.• Tchaikovsky and the choreographer, Marius Petipa, worked together on the Sleeping Beauty ballet 2 years before The Nutcracker.• 8 musical numbers from The Nutcracker were first performed as an orchestral suite 9 months before the ballet premiered. This Nutcracker Suite became an instant success.• In German folklore tradition, a nutcracker protects families and brings good luck, which is why it was given as a gift to children at Christmas.• The 1st production of The Nutcracker was not well received and was criticized for scenes that didn’t flow together, not enough ballet like Sleeping Beauty and Gisellle, and too many children on stage.• The 1st complete performance of The Nutcracker outside of Russia did not happen until 1934 and took place in England.• Audiences in the U.S. were first introduced to The Nutcracker music score in Disney’s 1940 film Fantasia.• The 1st full-length production of The Nutcracker in the U.S. was in 1944 at the San Francisco Opera Ballet.• In 1954, George Balanchine created his version of The Nutcracker for the New York City Ballet. This production brought new life to The Nutcracker launching its popularity in the US.• George Balanchine played the nutcracker role himself in Russia when he was 15.• More people have seen The Nutcracker and more dancers have performed it than any other ballet. It has become a holiday tradition!William and Olga Rolf
Kodun A: Amazing ballet school!
Val Busler: Our daughter achieved amazing results during this year, coming only once a week. She is looking forward to next level.
Sarit M: My daughter Dafna has recently returned from YAGP finals dance competition in New York. Who would have thought that our dancers could become international finalists. Alexandra koltun and Alex Lapshin have pushed our students to their maximum in the most successful way, to ensure that they reach the highest standard of ballet, and modern contemporary. The style of teaching is very professional and the teachers there are just incredible. Professionals are given scholarships almost every year with Koltun Ballet Boston for they produce professionals right in Watertown. Dafna wouldn't have had half the opportunities she does without this studio and who knows where she would be without the exquisite training expertise. I would strongly recommend attending this studio for the best results always occur. Thank you to the wonderful teachers at Koltun we could never thank you enough.
Cherish Brunet: Having just returned from the world renown YAGP 2018 Finals in New York City with two of my daughters, I can attest to the amazing training the Koltun Ballet Boston dancers have been given by Alexandra Koltun, Alex Lapshin and their staff. An emphasis on technique classes combined with coaching in variations and ensemble pieces provided these young dancers the opportunity to stand out among the best dancers in the world. We are thankful for year round training in a beautiful facility with amazing faculty.
Amber Verhaert: Wonderful!
Alex Lapshin: Congrats to Koltun Ballet Boston with an “Outstanding School” Award winning - YAGP 2018 (Worcester, MA)We are simply very proud of our students and we will continue to work very hard to grow next generation of Artists. Bravo all

Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston: what do users think?
Regiane Ventouris: I couldn’t be happier about joining Boston Studio last year. At Arthur Murray, I have the opportunity to get a formal education and get out of my comfort zone by learning new dances such as foxtrot and waltz which were completely new to me. I would like to thank my instructor Gary, for being so patient, pushing me, teaching me discipline, challenging me, and even for saying NO when I want to change the music or the choreography at the last minute! Gary, you are a wonderful dancer and instructor and I am so proud to learn with you!I would like to thank Harrison for making me feel so safe and confident on the dance floor. It is a pleasure to dance any rhythm with you. I wish I could have dance lessons with you and Gary at least five times a week!!!
Niel johnson: We took the plunge earlier in the year and have enjoyed ourself so much that we signed up again for further classes. All of the staff are very friendly and so willing to help and have a joke with
Kate Evans: So you think you can't dance? Oh yeah, you can with this crew. Top shelf instructors who are committed, patient, and fun! Bjorn is my instructor, but all the instructors are great. The Boston studio vibe is inclusive and cool. Fellow students support each other. It's such a happy and no pressure place to be after a tough day at work. I can't wait to get here at the end of the day. Energy is next level. Six months ago I moved with the grace of a robot. This weekend, I cha cha cha-ed at an Afro Cuban concert with friends who were learning how to dance before they could walk - and I held my own. To be able to move like that and be comfortable doing it - having the confidence to do it - is incredible - and worth the hard work you put into it. Thank you to Bjorn and the entire staff and my fellow students for making the decision to do this one of the best things I've ever done for myself. See you on the dance floor! :-)
Dolly Lakkis: Can't say enough about my two teachers.Harrison and Kathryn are the most patient as well as talented teachers ever.Being 12 years at AM u can easily say that all the teachers are fabulous but my soft spot is for my duo.
Emily Goslin: Arthur Murray is my happy place!! All of the instructors are rock stars. This is THE place to dance and be yourself. ❤️
Katherine Rich: We have loved our lessons at Arthur Murray! Grady has been a fantastic instructor - teaching us both basic ballroom steps and coming up with choreography. And, the whole team is always incredibly friendly!
Sam Hoffman: My fiancé and I learned our first dance for our wedding at Arthur Murray Boston this year. We were so lucky to have had Grady as our instructor, as he was the best teacher we could ever have asked for - patient, thoughtful, and encouraging. Though we didn't have any dance experience before our lessons, we ended feeling much more at ease on the dance floor. Highly recommend this studio!
Debra Hammond: Dance lessons were a Christmas gift and we started them on our anniversary. It began as a date night. Then came the father-daughter dance for our daughter’s wedding, and a reprise of Color My World on our 40th anniversary. The instructors are great, very supportive and tuned in to your needs. It’s a warm environment and a place to make new friends.
Noriko Miyakoda: If you want to become a more confident dancer, I am telling you it's a MUST to go to Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston!! They will help you learn the basic dance steps and take it step by step to a new level. I highly recommend contacting them. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish, in dance, by diligently working with an instructor or with multiple instructors (I suggest working with multiple because each instructor sheds new information on a dance).
Ioana Preston: Here I am going on to my 6th year as a student at AM Boston! Unbelievable journey, amazing experience! The instructors and students there, we are a family, a wonderful community that share the love for dance. Dancing, taking lessons, learning new techniques, preparing routines and solos, competing, it is all now an important part of my life. When you dance, you touch the stars!
Stephen Gildert: Fantastic, friendly dance school. Very welcoming of dancers of all abilities. Structured dance programmes help you track progress. Lots of activities too. Dance teachers are all excellent. Big shout out to Sami who has guided our progress so well
Sriram Emani: I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started, but 3 years later I'm going strong and training in 10 styles of dancing. The quality of instruction is top notch, personalized and encouraging. Being able to dance regularly at community events and showcases keeps you on your toes and ensures you aren't pushing it off to later like we tend to do with hobbies. Couldn't have asked for a more supportive community that celebrates each step and milestone. I highly recommend joining the Arthur Murray Boston studio to learn that you can be a fabulous dancer and have a great time doing it!
Josh Ahadian: The staff are extremely knowledgable and personable. The variety of dances I am able to learn from experts one-on-one and the ability to practice in group classes and party settings provides a nice variety. I only wish it didn't cost as much as it does, but they offer many different payment plans to fit your budget.
Amanda Marr: We had a wonderful experience with our instructor Olivia. She took our concerns as newbies into consideration and was able to help us achieve exactly what we were looking for: natural, not stiff, not over-choreographed first wedding dance. She helped us give a basic structure to the dance and lots of helpful suggestions and tips/tricks. We even had enough time to squeeze in some mother/son and father/daughter lessons into our package as well. We enjoyed each lesson and her personality and professionalism put us at ease.
Andrew Yellis: The Situation:We were getting married in six weeks. My fiancee was a ballerina through the end of high school. I have danced three or four times, max.The Process:I looked online for a place that was convenient and had reviews for people who can't dance. The second studio I looked at was Arthur Murray, and they were (thankfully) the most responsive. After one intro lesson we knew we would stick with the studio (and the instructor) to get our wedding dance together. The Result:Six sessions went much faster than I ever expected. We learned and progressed with every minute spent in the studio (and really appreciated the extra practice time that came with the lessons). Dancing did not become the most dreaded part of my week in large part thanks to our instructor Catherine and I even (gasp) had fun.In the end, we came out with exactly what we asked for. A simple dance without strict choreography that flowed and allowed us to be creative within the basic structure we had built. I was told later that everyone watching had been aware she danced and I did not - and I exceeded expectations (since they were zero). All credit to Arthur Murray. If you are nervous or out of time or have dancing skill horribly mismatched with your partner, you owe it to yourself to schedule a lesson here.
D Harmon: Arthur Murray Boston is a wonderful place to learn to dance: top quality instructors and a wonderful and friendly group of people. I enjoy the group classes, the private lessons, the weekly dance parties, and the many other special showcases, balls and festivities. They work on technique so that you don't just dance, but you actually look good doing so. Be prepared to open your wallet, but remember you do get what you pay for, and in the case of Arthur Murray of Boston it is worth it!
Roxane Sadaghiani: Bijorn is the kindest dance instructor ever! He, no matter what, makes you feel you are the best and become motivated to practice more and more and enjoy dancing more and more!
Brooke Smith: We attended an 8-class lesson plan in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and are so glad we chose Arthur Murray. We worked with a few instructors, all of whom were so helpful (neither of us had much history in dancing). We felt confident heading into our first dance on our wedding day and proud of what they had helped us put together! Thank you Arthur Murray Boston team for your creativity, inspiration, and persistence in teaching. We are so grateful! Highly recommended to all couples looking for lessons.
Ron Akanowicz: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI've been taking lessons at the studio for over a year now and really enjoy the level of instruction I've received. I can see I've made real progress in my dancing and enjoy it even more! Thanks AMDSB!
Constance Innocenti: My husband and I just finished our first block of classes at Arthur Murray Boston dance studio. Definitely my new favorite hobby! I now want to learn ALL the dances!Side note: during covid they have been extremely cautious not to spread germs. Instructors are wearing masks and gloves. There is hand sanitizer available and separate clean and used pens. I feel comfortable going there and it has been a great activity to do during this social distance period.
Anthony Scheff: My wife and I took ballroom dance lessons at this studio to prepare for our first dance, and we could not be happier with the results. We worked with Gary and Mariah, who were both wonderful. Our lessons were masked and socially distant because of the COVID pandemic, but they made us feel safe and comfortable. Our guests raved about our first dance, which is definitely more reflective of the professional instruction we received than our own dancing abilities. Whether you want to practice for a specific event or are just looking to become a better dancer, we highly recommend the Arthur Murray Studio of Boston.

The Brookline Ballet School: what do users think?
Angela Lohr: The staff is so unprofessional, I called someone who was on the phone today, she lies everything about the class which I knew already from other parents. I would not recommend this school at all . Recently the someone answered my review, the fact is the staff was lie all the time, we do not have to go to your school, honesty is so important for everywhere.
Angela Loehr: My daughter “ s friends are taking class in this school. Parents told me serval times there are many spot , in order to let all girls are taking classes at the same time . I called this school many times, finally there is one lady who answers my call . She is full of lies and made up the story there is no spot at all ! I am wondering who would like to take classes with this kind of unprofessional people . Maybe it is time for close this school!
Chris Phillips: My 4 year old daughter was dragged out of the classroom by her teacher. I had to step in to get her to let go. There were red marks all over her wrists.
Anna Booras: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismReally impressed with this studio. Owner is very kind and friendly.
Zoe Yun: Positive:Professionalism,QualityMy 6 year old daughter likes it, and I love it too. It is more professional but not too strict, perfect for kids.
Sky Boy GG: This place is a no no. They took six month of payment and when my daughter hurt herself and didnt want to go because she was so bored in class and was crying not to they said they cant make a payment. I was so angry didnt take her there ever again. If your kid can not make a six month commitment and I guess no kid can make definitely dont go there. She simply didnt learn much on the days she went was well.
Mariam Osman: My 4 years old granddaughter loves this place and teachers are very nice
Laura Anthony: This studio is amazing! They provide a great place for dancers to learn while still pushing them to be their ultimate best.
Isabel M.: I go to Brookline and I absolutely love it

Uptown Dance Center: what do users think?
Najai D'Raughn: Recently, I reached out to Ms. Leta Tavares, owner of Uptown Dance Center to speak with her about my 7 yr. old very talented granddaughter Virginia Rose.33 years ago Leta personally taught my daughter Virginia Tap and Jazz dance. Leta is one of the most talented and loving dance coaches that exist. My daughter at the time was about 6, 7, and 8 years of age. She (my daughter) was a bit shy but, she was very talented. I noticed after just a couple of weeks with Ms. Leta, she sprouted like the most beautiful flower. I decided to stay and watch and see what Leta had done to create this sudden shift in my Little girl's confidence. I remember, like it was yesterday. Leta spoke with the children with an affirming tone and used words that induced empowerment. Leta always said to the girls "great job!" Even when they did not follow her exact instructions. I think it would be best expressed by saying Leta positioned the children to believe in themselves that, they could achieve anything.Leta made such an impact on me and my daughter, that I decided thirty plus years later to seek her out in hope's of her working with my "not so shy" granddaughter who is as equally talented as her mom. I strongly encourage anyone seeking the greatest experience for their child to attend Leta"s school, UPTOWN DANCE CENTER BOSTON.Najai DRaughn
Goldsmith Joseph: Uptown dance is the best! I like the positive affirmations Ms Leta does with the kids at the end of each class to reinforce their confidence and boost their self esteem. Keep it up!
brandi butler: A gem to the community
Sonja Gordon: I have been dancing at Uptown Dance center for 2 years now and I have made so many improvements. Thanks to my teacher Ms.Leta I am now very confident In my new skills. Due to my improvements I’m an assistant teacher who helps out with younger kids. This helps me see that everyone learns at a different pace and I get to help others.
Pascale Pierre: Ms. Leta is a pro! My daughter has loved dance class since day one. She counts the days until Saturday so that she can get to dance!

Mass Motion Dance Boston: what do users think?
Kun Chang: very nice dance studio. good size, nice people, and free parking.
Sharone Jelden: LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! My daughter has danced here for 9 years. She absolutely loves Mass Motion and has developed into a talented and strong dancer because of this studio. She also has a group of amazing friends at dance; it's a huge part of her life and what she most looks forward to doing. Dedicated staff, skilled teachers, incredible year-end recital, fun outings together... I can't ask for more from a studio!
MH Paget: My daughter is in the intensive program. It is very challenging, especially since she has never before danced seriously, but the program is incredibly rewarding for her. She is learning many different dance styles (not just ballet, like so many other studios) and she loves the teachers. Their Nutcracker was so well done and creative; the kids loved doing it and it is a testament to how much children in the program can develop as dancers.2021 Update: my daughter is now in the senior intensive program and has grown as a dancer (and as a person) by leaps and bounds. After three years, I have also grown to LOVE the community that is MassMotion. Wonderful families, dedicated, creative teachers who care about their students, just all in all a great studio.
Shiuan-tung Peng: Clean and organized
Karla Rios: I have left voice mail after voicemail. Have been calling usually twice a week for the last month. It is July 22,2019. I have been trying to put my daughter in a dance class but no one seems to be answering. I have even gone in person and there seems to be no one there. Not sure if it’s because it is actually closed; there are no signs saying they are on vacation . Nothing
Jenna Wertheimer: My children have danced here for the last 13 years. Not only have they learned so much in terms of dance technique, they have learned discipline, self-control, time management and have so many opportunities to perform and hone their craft. They started in the child classes and have moved into the intensive programs and it has been so worthwhile. They’ve developed great lifelong friendships. I recommend it for anyone looking to dance, either recreationally or in the intensive program. Their recitals can’t be beat—it’s a theatrical production that will blow you away year after year.
Michelle Ottaviano: Just wrapped up another year at Mass Motion Dance Boston, and am reminded, as always, why my high school and middle school daughters have called Mass Motion their dance home since they were 5. The quality and taste of the production, dedication of the faculty, and strength of the community are showcased at the recital, but present in every class. The faculty manage to maintain a strong focus on technique and still give the kids room to be who they are without an over abundance of rules. They provide the right mix of freedom, support, and rigor to foster a love of dance! And with so many types of dance offered -- tap, ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and Irish Step -- every child can find something up love.
Sharon Herman-Berreby: Mass motion Boston is the best dance studio around! My daughter started at age 4 taking a class once a week for 1.5 hrs that included jazz/ballet/tap .This combination approach allows young girls to fall in love with dance as they get exposed to different forms of dance . Now my daughter dances intensively at Mass Motion and she loves it ; not only has dance become a passion for her but Mass Motion has become her second family away from home . No other dance studio provides such a great community feel while fostering a love for dance ! Finally , the recitals are AMAZING!!!
DK Traore: I have been dancing here for 7 years and I love it so much
Glen Thompson: We love Mass Motion Dance! I have three kids that take dance classes at Mass Motion in Medfield and they all love it. The people here are fantastic. I can't say enough great things about this place.
Lila B.C.: I have been going here for 8 years. Love it. Wouldn’t want to go anywhere else when it comes to dance!
Valerie Levine: Our daughter has been dancing at Mass Motion for four years and she loves it. The teachers are amazing and the studio is truly a community. The recitals are incredible and the kids (and parents) look forward to them all year! They have all levels of dance, from recreational to intensive, and all forms of dance. We couldn't be happier with Mass Motion Dance - Boston.
Cheryl Cramer Toto: Mass Motion is more than a studio. It's really a wonderful community of dancers and their families. The owners, managers and teachers are incredibly dedicated and talented -- and my daughter (now in the Intensive Program but started out at 6 in a child hip hop class) has become such a strong, well-rounded and passionate dancer under their wing. The end of year show and their Nutcracker holiday performance are really special events.
Justin Bernard: Best place in Boston to send your child to dance! They also put on the best end of the year recital that I've seen. All of the teachers are excellent.
Judith Donath: This is an excellent dance program for children and teens. The teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and inspiring. The program is unusually flexible: for teens who are serious about dance (~10 or more hours a week) there is an intensive program,, but others can take just a few classes.
La Toya Douglas: This place is a complete rip off. They will take your deposit then you would not hear from them them. There is no way to confirm the start date because they never answer their phones, when even messages are left. They will take your deposit then tell you they don't provide transportation, even though it clearly says they do on their website. Then when you ask for a refund they will deny you, even though a service was never provided. This company is a fraud...beware!
