Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston: what do users think?
Regiane Ventouris: I couldn’t be happier about joining Boston Studio last year. At Arthur Murray, I have the opportunity to get a formal education and get out of my comfort zone by learning new dances such as foxtrot and waltz which were completely new to me. I would like to thank my instructor Gary, for being so patient, pushing me, teaching me discipline, challenging me, and even for saying NO when I want to change the music or the choreography at the last minute! Gary, you are a wonderful dancer and instructor and I am so proud to learn with you!I would like to thank Harrison for making me feel so safe and confident on the dance floor. It is a pleasure to dance any rhythm with you. I wish I could have dance lessons with you and Gary at least five times a week!!!
Niel johnson: We took the plunge earlier in the year and have enjoyed ourself so much that we signed up again for further classes. All of the staff are very friendly and so willing to help and have a joke with
Kate Evans: So you think you can't dance? Oh yeah, you can with this crew. Top shelf instructors who are committed, patient, and fun! Bjorn is my instructor, but all the instructors are great. The Boston studio vibe is inclusive and cool. Fellow students support each other. It's such a happy and no pressure place to be after a tough day at work. I can't wait to get here at the end of the day. Energy is next level. Six months ago I moved with the grace of a robot. This weekend, I cha cha cha-ed at an Afro Cuban concert with friends who were learning how to dance before they could walk - and I held my own. To be able to move like that and be comfortable doing it - having the confidence to do it - is incredible - and worth the hard work you put into it. Thank you to Bjorn and the entire staff and my fellow students for making the decision to do this one of the best things I've ever done for myself. See you on the dance floor! :-)
Dolly Lakkis: Can't say enough about my two teachers.Harrison and Kathryn are the most patient as well as talented teachers ever.Being 12 years at AM u can easily say that all the teachers are fabulous but my soft spot is for my duo.
Emily Goslin: Arthur Murray is my happy place!! All of the instructors are rock stars. This is THE place to dance and be yourself. ❤️
Katherine Rich: We have loved our lessons at Arthur Murray! Grady has been a fantastic instructor - teaching us both basic ballroom steps and coming up with choreography. And, the whole team is always incredibly friendly!
Sam Hoffman: My fiancé and I learned our first dance for our wedding at Arthur Murray Boston this year. We were so lucky to have had Grady as our instructor, as he was the best teacher we could ever have asked for - patient, thoughtful, and encouraging. Though we didn't have any dance experience before our lessons, we ended feeling much more at ease on the dance floor. Highly recommend this studio!
Debra Hammond: Dance lessons were a Christmas gift and we started them on our anniversary. It began as a date night. Then came the father-daughter dance for our daughter’s wedding, and a reprise of Color My World on our 40th anniversary. The instructors are great, very supportive and tuned in to your needs. It’s a warm environment and a place to make new friends.
Noriko Miyakoda: If you want to become a more confident dancer, I am telling you it's a MUST to go to Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston!! They will help you learn the basic dance steps and take it step by step to a new level. I highly recommend contacting them. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish, in dance, by diligently working with an instructor or with multiple instructors (I suggest working with multiple because each instructor sheds new information on a dance).
Ioana Preston: Here I am going on to my 6th year as a student at AM Boston! Unbelievable journey, amazing experience! The instructors and students there, we are a family, a wonderful community that share the love for dance. Dancing, taking lessons, learning new techniques, preparing routines and solos, competing, it is all now an important part of my life. When you dance, you touch the stars!
Stephen Gildert: Fantastic, friendly dance school. Very welcoming of dancers of all abilities. Structured dance programmes help you track progress. Lots of activities too. Dance teachers are all excellent. Big shout out to Sami who has guided our progress so well
Sriram Emani: I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started, but 3 years later I'm going strong and training in 10 styles of dancing. The quality of instruction is top notch, personalized and encouraging. Being able to dance regularly at community events and showcases keeps you on your toes and ensures you aren't pushing it off to later like we tend to do with hobbies. Couldn't have asked for a more supportive community that celebrates each step and milestone. I highly recommend joining the Arthur Murray Boston studio to learn that you can be a fabulous dancer and have a great time doing it!
Josh Ahadian: The staff are extremely knowledgable and personable. The variety of dances I am able to learn from experts one-on-one and the ability to practice in group classes and party settings provides a nice variety. I only wish it didn't cost as much as it does, but they offer many different payment plans to fit your budget.
Amanda Marr: We had a wonderful experience with our instructor Olivia. She took our concerns as newbies into consideration and was able to help us achieve exactly what we were looking for: natural, not stiff, not over-choreographed first wedding dance. She helped us give a basic structure to the dance and lots of helpful suggestions and tips/tricks. We even had enough time to squeeze in some mother/son and father/daughter lessons into our package as well. We enjoyed each lesson and her personality and professionalism put us at ease.
Andrew Yellis: The Situation:We were getting married in six weeks. My fiancee was a ballerina through the end of high school. I have danced three or four times, max.The Process:I looked online for a place that was convenient and had reviews for people who can't dance. The second studio I looked at was Arthur Murray, and they were (thankfully) the most responsive. After one intro lesson we knew we would stick with the studio (and the instructor) to get our wedding dance together. The Result:Six sessions went much faster than I ever expected. We learned and progressed with every minute spent in the studio (and really appreciated the extra practice time that came with the lessons). Dancing did not become the most dreaded part of my week in large part thanks to our instructor Catherine and I even (gasp) had fun.In the end, we came out with exactly what we asked for. A simple dance without strict choreography that flowed and allowed us to be creative within the basic structure we had built. I was told later that everyone watching had been aware she danced and I did not - and I exceeded expectations (since they were zero). All credit to Arthur Murray. If you are nervous or out of time or have dancing skill horribly mismatched with your partner, you owe it to yourself to schedule a lesson here.
D Harmon: Arthur Murray Boston is a wonderful place to learn to dance: top quality instructors and a wonderful and friendly group of people. I enjoy the group classes, the private lessons, the weekly dance parties, and the many other special showcases, balls and festivities. They work on technique so that you don't just dance, but you actually look good doing so. Be prepared to open your wallet, but remember you do get what you pay for, and in the case of Arthur Murray of Boston it is worth it!
Roxane Sadaghiani: Bijorn is the kindest dance instructor ever! He, no matter what, makes you feel you are the best and become motivated to practice more and more and enjoy dancing more and more!
Brooke Smith: We attended an 8-class lesson plan in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and are so glad we chose Arthur Murray. We worked with a few instructors, all of whom were so helpful (neither of us had much history in dancing). We felt confident heading into our first dance on our wedding day and proud of what they had helped us put together! Thank you Arthur Murray Boston team for your creativity, inspiration, and persistence in teaching. We are so grateful! Highly recommended to all couples looking for lessons.
Ron Akanowicz: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI've been taking lessons at the studio for over a year now and really enjoy the level of instruction I've received. I can see I've made real progress in my dancing and enjoy it even more! Thanks AMDSB!
Constance Innocenti: My husband and I just finished our first block of classes at Arthur Murray Boston dance studio. Definitely my new favorite hobby! I now want to learn ALL the dances!Side note: during covid they have been extremely cautious not to spread germs. Instructors are wearing masks and gloves. There is hand sanitizer available and separate clean and used pens. I feel comfortable going there and it has been a great activity to do during this social distance period.
Anthony Scheff: My wife and I took ballroom dance lessons at this studio to prepare for our first dance, and we could not be happier with the results. We worked with Gary and Mariah, who were both wonderful. Our lessons were masked and socially distant because of the COVID pandemic, but they made us feel safe and comfortable. Our guests raved about our first dance, which is definitely more reflective of the professional instruction we received than our own dancing abilities. Whether you want to practice for a specific event or are just looking to become a better dancer, we highly recommend the Arthur Murray Studio of Boston.

Boston Ballroom Dance Center: what do users think?
jinyou wang: Female instructor is an unbalanced dancer, so one side looks better than the other when demonstrating. Rude teaching style. Will push expensive dance shoes from her mother's store. Once you pay for a pair, good luck returning if they don't fit well, even when still brand new. Also will try any excuse to cancel your remaining lessons but keep your money, especially if you (or everyone in your group) did not buy those shoes.
Matthew Russell: Marisa and Peter are excellent instructors and a pleasure to take lessons with. We went to them to learn a first dance for our wedding and they taught us a wonderfully choreographed dance starting from no real knowledge about dancing going in. They also made sure that we could dance for the rest of the wedding! Lessons are always fun and perfectly tailored to skill and learning style. We will be continuing even after the wedding.
Bill Kaiser: Peter & Marisa are THE BEST! Very knowledgable, skilled, friendly, funny, professional, and caring. They taught even ME to dance (passably) for our first dance at our wedding. They have amazing energy. We love them.
Kyle Butler: So I was here hanging out in the parking lot and I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be their but then 2 older people came out of Boston ball room dancing with machetes and starting screaming at me to leave and that I was tresspassing after calling the police I was informed that it was the owners these people are crazy and totally unprofessional
Toby Balsley: These are Fantastic Wedding Dance instructors. Low pressure and high quality. Also, for the more long-term minded dancers, they have a dedication and patient focus to detail that continues to surprise me. As teachers they don't hold back. Indeed this couple has a latin style that's tough to beat.
Daniel Figueroa: Marisa and Peter helped my fiance and I learn to dance for our first dance. They created a custom, choreographed dance. They were patient, kind, funny and extremely helpful. They recorded us so we could see what we looked like. Highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn to dance! Thanks again guys!
Jonathan Lichkus: Boston Ballroom Dance Center is excellent. My now wife and I took private lessons for our first dance at our wedding. Neither of us had any prior experience yet Marisa worked with us step-by-step to craft a beautiful dance. She was incredibly responsive to our preferences and ability. She made sure all the details were addressed including how we would enter and the exit the dance floor and how we would dance with our parents. Our first dance went perfectly and was a complete joy. We got so many rave reviews afterward and we have Marisa and Peter to thank. Even beyond the first dance, my wife and I now know basic steps to different types of dance that we can use for the rest of our lives. The time and effort was definitely worth it and I completely recommend Boston Ballroom Dance Center.
Jeff Gallant: Peter and Marisa are the best. My wife and I are not naturals but we looked forward to every lesson. There are not two more positive, professional and patient people than Peter and Marisa. They helped us achieve a great first dance memory we will always cherish. We recommend Boston Ballroom Dance Center enthusiastically!

Hamby Ballroom Dance Studio: what do users think?
Maryann Jacobs: My husband and I have been taking weekly private couples lessons with Suzanne for over two years, and have been thoroughly impressed. When we first took dance lessons over 25 years ago, we thought our instructor was great. But after working with Suzanne we see what a truly gifted teacher can offer. She quickly figures out what we are doing wrong and offers good suggestions on how to fix mistakes. She doesn't just teach the motions of a "step" but goes into the body position, balance and technique that make it exceptional. Suzanne is patient when we repeat mistakes or demonstrate "fish memory," and employs creative teaching techniques- when one approach doesn't resonate, she quickly changes tack to find one that does. She is very personable, professional and courteous, with a quick wit and sense of humor. We have a blast and laugh through each lesson. We highly recommend Suzanne Hamby to anyone wishing to begin learning ballroom dancing or improve dance technique.
Whitney: My husband and I recently completed a package of dance lessons at the Hamby Ballroom Dance Studio. We adored our instructor, Dick, who was patient, kind, and made us laugh, all of which helped us relax and learn the proper dance steps. Over the course of 1.5 months, we got enough of the American foxtrot down to make the first dance look successful.Thank you, Dick and Suzanne!

Ballroom in Boston: what do users think?
Elizabeth Caruso: Great space for lessons and dancing "in the wild".
Jamie & Lara Gullbrand: We loved our wedding dance lessons with Hana! Hana helped us learn new moves and get a lot more comfortable dancing! We had a lot of fun with our first dance on our wedding day thanks to these lessons!
Brookline Smythe: I received two 30 minute lessons for my daughter's wedding and the result was awesome! The instructor choreographed for us on the "A Whole New World" and the guests loved our dance. I will upload the video clip if I can.
Christina DesChambeau: My fiancé and I had an absolutely fantastic and fun time in our wedding dance crash course! We learned so much in such a short amount of time. Thank you Hana and team!
Jay DesChambeau: Wedding dance crash course was wonderful. Thank you so much!
Christina Gondek: We did a wedding dance crash course and it was everything! Hana was so wonderful and made sure to answer any questions about the spins or holds that we had, helped give us tips on where to pause for photographer pictures during our wedding, and demonstrated the spins for us as well. Definitely recommend for anyone who has no ballroom dance experience and wants to learn proper technique.
Linden Wu: My wife and I learned our first dance moves at our wedding from this company. We started out with a free group intro class and ended up booking five private lessons. Hana worked with us and was great throughout the whole process! She did all the choreography, and it really worked with our three excerpts from different pieces of music. We learned a lot of moves and things to think about when dancing, and I'm happy to say that our first dance was a success! We really enjoyed learning with her and look forward to dancing and learning other styles of dance for recreation with this company in the future.
Christopher D'Amico: Ballroom in Boston far exceeded our expectations. We had several sessions with Lilia in preparation for our first dance at our wedding. Neither of us had much dancing experience going into the process but we never felt awkward or intimidated with Lilia. The first dance went from something we were dreading to something we actually looked forward to on our wedding day because we felt so confident after working with Lilia. Thank you!
Ram Kulkarni: My wife and I took the Slow Dance 101 class which covered four sessions of 45-minutes each over four weeks. Our instructors Lilia and Bradley were wonderful. They gave clear instructions of each dance step, demonstrated the step, and then watched us to practice the step. We had not taken any formal dance classes before. I was unsure whether I would be able to learn and remember all steps, but I was pleasantly surprised that I did. After each session, the instructors sent us a video recap of the steps we learned. That was very helpful. Overall we loved the class.
Kathleen Carroll: We took Slow Dance 101 over zoom and enjoyed every minute of it! Lilia and Bradley were helpful in providing clear instructions and feedback and we left the class with a solid foundation and repertoire of moves. We also liked that they provided recap videos to help us practice. We look forward to taking more classes in the future and would love to do an in-person class someday as well!
Evan Krentzel: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI am so glad my SO and I found Ballroom in Boston! The classes are extremely fun, informative, and affordable. Bradley & Lilia are fantastic teachers and break down the dance moves into easy-to-understand pieces. I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in dancing check out Ballroom in Boston!
Sarah Wilson: We have taken several of the virtual classes for slow dance. We have been practicing for our first dance at our wedding, but have found that doing this together has made some very special moments. Bradley and Lilia are amazing teachers. They go nice and slow and explain everything so very clearly. I found it very easy to learn from them even over zoom, which can be tricky. In addition to fun, clear and amazing classes Lilia and Bradley are very responsive to their email. They are always willing to answer questions and give you their support! We are about to start some private lessons with them in order to boost our confidence in our dancing. With these two I feel relaxed knowing they will ensure we look amazing and this allows me to just have fun dancing. I highly recommend their classes to any new or old couple, whether you are looking to learn for your first dance or are looking for a way to have fun with your partner these two will ensure you are comfortable, understand the moves and most importantly laugh!
Eugene Kovalev: We went here to learn to dance for the first dance at our wedding. Our instructor taught us so well that even when the DJ played the wrong song we managed to improvise and no one realized what happened, everything apparently looked good. So yeah, 5 stars just for the results.
Scoutdoors Brand: Great organization, highly recommended!!!
Emma Sutter: The Pound class with Dorthy is unreal - so much fun, she's energetic, funny and makes working out so enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Sarah Olander: Ballroom in Boston is a great place to learn to dance! The instructors are friendly and welcoming. I bought a groupon almost 2 years ago and have continued to take classes still.
Matthew S: I made dancing my 2018 hobby. For a full year I danced at Ballroom in Boston, and that year I spent more days at the studio than not. I cannot say enough how great of an experience it was. With no prior dance background, and no partner, I was able to learn a variety of dances by going to Ballroom in Boston. The group classes they offer are great no matter your level and it's definitely worth checking out their calendar to see what is being offered throughout the month. In my time at Ballroom in Boston I took private lessons with several different staff members. Each of which had a unique, yet very understandable, approach to teaching regardless of the material or level of difficulty. If you choose to take private lessons, don't be afraid to try different instructors to find someone that matches the way you learn. But they are all truly fantastic.Lilia Weisfeldt is the owner of the studio and easily one of my favorite people I've had the honor of meeting. She has a very obvious vision of how she wants her studio to be and doesn't stray from it. Her studio is intended to feel like a home to anyone that enters, and you can feel it from the moment you arrive. She will always go out of her way to introduce herself to a new face and make them feel welcome. Lilia is an absolute joy to be around, and will always try to help you develop and achieve your dance goals.
Michael Moreshead: Ballroom in Boston is truly special. The folks who work there, and the woman who owns it, are authentic, warm, and a joy to get to know. Of course, they are also great dancers and wonderful teachers. I had a billing issue that was really my own fault, and they were immediately understanding and helpful, even when they did not have to be. A year and a half ago I walked in with my fiancee to learn a few steps before our wedding. My life is richer and fuller for having done so, well beyond what the money can measure. I am happy and proud to recommend Ballroom in Boston to anybody. Lilia has built a remarkable place in Lower Allston.
Shannon Draucker: My husband and I had an amazing experience at Ballroom in Boston. We signed up for the month-long Groupon deal and took a bunch of classes: tango, swing, rumba, foxtrot, and cha-cha. We were total novices, but everyone was so welcoming and friendly and made us feel totally at ease as we tried something completely new to us. We then decided to sign up for some private lessons as we approached our August wedding. Our instructor Matt was absolutely wonderful. He helped us learn to dance the rumba and foxtrot to our first dance (including an entrance, exit, dip, and some fun turns!) and made us feel challenged, yet comfortable, the whole time. We will definitely be back for more classes. Thank you to the whole Ballroom in Boston team for introducing us to our new hobby!
Jan Taylor: Love Ballroom in Boston! Lilia and her dancers are so talented and professional. I worked with Bradley, who helped this pretty uncoordinated gal, find her grove and learn my dance while he was SO patient and made the whole process fun, exciting, and rewarding!
Pallav Asija: I absolutely love this place. I started as a total beginner and had no idea how to move. The staff was so friendly and patient, that learning came naturally. Lilia was so easy to talk to and guided me on how I can maximize my learning. Every single class was so much fun and engaging, that I highly recommend anyone visiting Boston to try this once. It's absolutely worth getting a membership here.

Dance in Boston: what do users think?
Norma Heine: Quiero tomar clases de baile para Séniors como ejercicio..
Elektra Alivisatos: We found Michele online to help us prepare for our first dance at our wedding. We had never done any formal dance lessons together but had a vision of what we wanted. Michele did an excellent job choreographing our dance to meet our abilities and preferences, including adjusting the music speed! We looked forward (and miss them!) to our lessons with Michele which were often filled with lots of laughter. Highly recommend working with Michele if you're ready to show off some moves for any occasion!
Melissa Grasso: Michele was literally the best part about planning the wedding. The only thing we wanted was a choreographed dance and she made it happen in 10 weeks (you don't need that much, we just wanted the extra time). She'll take you from zero to whatever level you want to get to. We really looked forward to our lesson every week. It was fun and Michele is hilarious. Couldn't recommend more highly. We're planning to return to take regular lessons for fun.
Jessica Olans: Michele was so much fun! She was patient with me and my husband who have zero coordination or dance past. It was truly a pleasure getting to spend time with Michele at the studio each week leading up to our wedding. We were in need of one more practice and she had us at her home which was above and beyond!! Thank you Michele!
Katie Way: Michele is amazing!! Before meeting Michelle, my now husband and I had no idea even how to box step which was nerve-wracking going into our wedding. But over 6 lessons, she helped ingrain the proper steps and the rhythm (well my husband still struggles with rhythm but thats a different story). Michele was fun to work with, she was very lively and observant. By the time our dance came around we both felt comfortable and ended up having a blast. She even helped us with a few spins/twirls which our guests loved. We highly recommend Michele for anyone looking for dance lessons! Thank you!
Trevor Schwartz: Michele is amazing! She taught my mother and me our mother-son wedding dance twice, 10 years apart (once for the wedding and again for my mom’s 70th). Michele was quick to assess our ability and teach us appropriate moves. We loved her creativity and easy to follow instructions. Highly recommend!
Emily Cannizzaro: We had the best experience working with Michele. My now husband and I were nervous about our first dance. We knew we didn’t want to slow dance back and forth like we were back in middle school. We also knew nothing about dancing and struggled to even do the basic box step when we first started our lessons. We were intimidated and unsure if we could pull off a real choreographed dance. We decided to trust the process and Michele and slowly the lessons became easier and more fun than ever. It was a perfect date night to get away from the craziness of wedding planning. We’ll never forget this dance. The pictures, videos and looks on our guests faces will be memories we cherish forever. We can’t thank you enough Michele for our perfect first dance! Highly recommend this studio and you won’t be disappointed if you choreograph a dance for your big day with Michele!
David R: We loved working with Michele! We came to her with literally zero dance experience. She was welcoming and encouraging, and choreographed a simple and fun dance that we loved. Michele was also flexible when we almost changed our song with two weeks to go, helping us explore some new ideas before we eventually came back to our original song. We are so happy we found her!
Brady Lenahan: Michele does a great job. We enjoyed the lessons and the dance was a success on wedding day :)
Ryan Callanan: We couldn't have been happier with our experience with Michele! She made us feel comfortable and gave us little tricks to remember our dance moves. We didn't do a choreographed dance but she gave us the tools we needed to make us look like we did! To all the engaged couples preparing for their first dance, GO SEE MICHELE!
Catherine Mills: We found Michele on Yelp and the wonderful reviews are all true. She was so much fun to work with and our dance lesson date nights were a blast. Michele took two people with four left feet and helped us learn a fun a beautiful first dance for our wedding. She pushed us out of our comfort zones and taught us a lift that shocked every one of our wedding guests!
Brian Hanafin: Michele was a fantastic dance instructor! She tailored our lessons exactly as we were looking for and we are now well prepared for our wedding in just a few short weeks. Could not recommend her enough!
Juan Arcila: Michele is a fantastic teacher! She is personable, patient, and makes the classes very fun! We looked forward to her classes every week while we practiced for our wedding dance. We can’t wait to perform it! I highly recommend Michele!
Emily Geller: Highly recommend working with Michele at Dance in Boston if you want to learn or improve your dancing. We saw her for several private dance lessons to learn a dance for our wedding. I’m not very coordinated and had never taken a lesson before and Michele did wonders teaching me and being patient as I learned. I’m shocked how much I improved and so quickly. We felt so confident doing our dance and dancing the rest of the night at our wedding. Already been using the techniques at other events too. We had so much fun at all the lessons and have already recommended her to our friends! Super helpful she has evening classes which made it easy to fit in the few months before our wedding.
Conor Moore: My fiancé and I did 5 lessons for our 1st dance. We were both very self conscious about our dance ability and by the end, totally confident and ready for our wedding! Michele is a phenomenal teacher, I truly couldn’t believe the progress we made in a few weeks. Would highly recommend!!
David O'Connor: Michele is awesome! My wife and I used her to prepare for our first dance at our wedding, and she made the whole experience so relaxing and enjoyable. She instantly made us feel comfortable, and we shared plenty of laughs along the way, not to mention successfully taught us a great dance! Would highly recommend! We also love her dogs :)
Jen Hickey: My fiancé and I took dance lessons here for our wedding dance and had an awesome time with Michelle. She was kind, helpful and informative- we loved the classes and working with her!
mike n: My wife and I took lessons for our daughters wedding. Our Daughter and son in law also took lessons. Michelle is great!!! Great communicator and teacher.
Jordan k: Had a wonderful time practicing our first dance here. Michele is a great teacher
Marianne Gorski: Michele said she makes ballroom dancing fun and she was right! Looking forward to our first dance thanks to Michele.
Felipe: Michele is a fantastic patient instructor with great vision on how to arrange a dance, and above all patience for those of us who are less skilled in the dancing arts. Over four lessons she helped us put together a gorgeous routine that impressed all our guests, and which made us feel good about ourselves on the dancefloor, including several turns that looked technically challenging and which proved to be a breeze under her tutelage. She also did a great job of defraying our nerves and making sure we were properly prepared.Absolutely recommend her for any and all dancing needs.

Balera Ballroom Dance Studio: what do users think?
Dexter Wang: Top studio in greater Boston for International Ballroom. Huge competition size floor. World class teachers and top visiting coaches.
Andrew: Excellent floor.
Basil Issaev: Open by appointment, following covid protocols and keeping everything clean and neat.Best Ballroom floor in the area!
Lyoni Fisher: Great floor!!
Bruno Peterson Oliveira: Great !!!
Arthur Lue: I’ve been with Liene and Basil of Balera Ballroom Dance Studio for over ten years now. This is, hands down, the best ballroom studio in the Boston area. At all levels, from kids classes to socials classes, from teaching wedding couples and beginners to some of the top competitors in the country, the staff is excellent and professional and caring. The floor is huge and beautiful, and you can tell how much love and care went into this place. I cannot recommend Balera highly enough.
Giorgio Gaglia: Caring and high-level teachers, big floor and nice sound system. I have been going to Balera for standard training for a few years and I have always been happy. Good for kids and adults alike, strongly recommended!
Thomas Martin: I've been teaching at balera ever since DANE closed. The floor is nice and big, the music system works well, the other instructors are very nice, and the floor is rarely crowded. The studio routinely brings in traveling coaches, such as Jonathan Roberts, and Isaac is the friendliest studio puppy ever!!!
Marie Stoeckel: We have been regulars at Balera Ballroom social dances on Friday nights for many years. We enjoy the competition size dance floor and the mix of music from International Standard to Latin to country two-step. There is always a class at the beginning of the dance, taught by various instructors. It's a comfortable, friendly environment for singles and couples.
Renee Gao: Visited and definitely not recommend. The teachers there seems to be nice but the general atmosphere do not promote an encouraging space for beginners to grow and learn. There are a couple students who were very nice and even reached out to help while some other would judge your dancing terribly. There are even some students who would promote their own dance classes (they do not teach at Balera) which for me was definitely a clear sign to leave. Though the environment is pretty nice and there's a huge space for dancing. So if you have minimal standards and just want to dance this would perhaps be suitable, but if you are dedicating more time and energy to dancing I would definitely not recommend Balera
Alex Arazawa: I've been a student here for many years. The ballroom is beautiful and the staff and coaches are all very talented and friendly. Highly recommended!

Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Cambridge: what do users think?
Michael Creedon: The teachers were very patient and supportive. We had fun at every lesson
Manasi Doshi: If you're looking for a neat, clean studio with friendly and professional instructors, this is your place. The dance program is catered to meet all types of student requirements - wedding dances to dance competitions with everything in between. I've been loving every thing about the studio: personal and group lessons, themed dance parties, and (the best part) the instructors. Rubin is fabulous! He introduced me to so many dances in a few short weeks while ensuring that I keep improving my technique. The instructors are all extremely skilled and great at what they do. All of my lessons with Christian, Lance, Dasha, Valerie, Dave, Mady have been excellent. And Natalie makes the whole experience perfect!
Larisa Gorbatova: Absolutely best choice for those who is fond of dancing! Very professional team and amazing atmosphere! I moved to Cambridge last November, and was looking for a dance school, where I could try various dance styles. Arthur Murray Cambridge had a lot of information on its website, unlike some of the other studios I tried, and Christian, one of the co-owners, responded very quickly to my request. In a week I became a student, and now it's kind of a second home to me as well as to some of my fellow students. The guys are doing fantastic job, not only teaching you how to dance, but also inspiring you to find your own way of dancing through life❤️
Tiffany Wong: Arthur Murray Cambridge is truly a gem of a studio. The staff is so professional and friendly and they really strive to make each lesson effective. My husband and I went originally to choreograph and learn our wedding dance but we've continued taking lessons over a year later! It's a great activity to do as a couple and I love feeling more comfortable with moving my body. Our instructor Lance is the BEST!! He knows everything. There are lots of group lessons as well so you can learn outside of your personal lessons. Mady is so fun, Ruben has so much flair and Dave breaks down topics so well. It's also such a joy to see Natalie's radiant personality at the desk every time I'm there! :)
Olaf Christensen: What a great place to be!When I entered the Arthur Murray Cambridge studio for the very first time I was just planning to take a few private dance lessons in preparation for our anniversary party. Needless to say, I got hooked immediately and haven’t stop dancing since. The instructors are fun, amazing and talented; always trying to accommodate my dancing skills and needs. Under Christian’s and Kia’s lead, they make this studio a unique, artistic but relaxed, yet vibrant place. I think that’s what attracts most of the students and makes socializing easy. You just want to be part of the team.In the beginning I was terrified to put myself out there, to dance in front of other people or to participate at any of the ( absolutely fun!) studio events, but the instructors helped me to feel comfortable, and build up my dancing self esteem. Now I can’t wait to dance my next solo and participate in bigger events like the Dance-O-Rama.Kudos to Natalie who always welcomes me with a smile, but most of all to my wonderful teachers! Rubin, you not only made me fall in love with Lindy Hop, but you also opened me up to a whole new world of dance! Lance, you add a special spark to every dance! My only regret is that I didn’t discover the Arthur Murray Cambridge Dance studio earlier!Isabella
Sumaiya Iqbal: Arthur Murray Dance studio at Cambridge is my happy place :)Starting to dance there was a part of my exploratory actions to find an activity and a place to be carefree, smile, perform, express myself, ... and love myself! And I found all of that in Arthur Murray Dance studio! My trainers, Rubin and Dave, are passionate, funny, caring, and above all, great dancers! But all the other staff are warm and welcoming. I highly, highly recommend Arthur Murray Dance studio at Cambridge!
Caroline Kerr: We started out taking lessons here for our wedding and stayed because it was a super fun community. The staff is all amazing and welcoming and it's a great place to learn to dance. They have social dance parties to practice your skills as well too!
Charlotte Slate: We had dance lessons before our wedding with Melissa and we can’t say enough about her. Melissa was so engaged, fun, PATIENT, and welcoming. She truly made us enjoy the whole process and helped us create the perfect and most fun dance for our wedding. Highly recommend taking lessons here!!
Anjanay Kumar: I've deeply enjoyed my time at Arthur Murray. The lessons are fantastic, but the larger offering of group, social variety, and skill classes are the real value proposition the studio offers. I went from being uncomfortable with partner dancing to able to hold my own in completely foreign dances based on my experiences over the course of 2 months at Arthur Murray, and I'm looking forward to the next two months and more.
Aimee Browne: I have had a wonderful experience at Arthur Murray of Cambridge. The community of dancers and teachers here are so kind and welcoming, it is a fan, relaxing and inspiring environment. The teachers listen to what you hope to achieve and tailor lessons to you specifically and work at a pace that is appropriate for you. I would highly recommend this studio if you're looking to learn!
Mia Tong: Arthur Murray looks nice from the outside but beware of constantly changing instructors and noisy surroundings. I got message reminders prior to lessons but an instructor contacted me via phone call to reschedule me and left a voicemail without confirming the new time. Then when I showed he waited ten minutes and feigned ignorance before letting me know that he left a message. It was a waste of my time as a customer and unprofessional behavior. The worst is that it was clear that it was prompted by a time that there was some tardiness on our side but to retaliate against the customer/client is not professional behavior and is rather rude and disrespectful. Overall it gave the sense of being uncoordinated because I was sent a message via IM which the instructor denied any knowledge of but was told in under 24 hrs via a voicemail of a different time and then told that the time that was confirmed via IM couldn't have possibly been scheduled, thus making it appear that it was my misunderstanding. Then we were condescended for missing the voicemail. It was unpleasant and bizarre, and meant to place blame on the customer/client.
Amanda Galeno: I had the most magical experience at this studio on a Friday night. I had been at the restaurant next door for what was supposed to be a first date...The gentleman did not show up. As I returned to my car a bit bummed and embarrassed, I looked up and saw the Arthur Murray studio.Inside were stunning chandeliers and people dancing beautifully. I decided to go in and check it out. I'm so glad I did. I was greeted by a welcoming, diverse, and extremely talented staff. When I explained what had happened they were able to create a lesson for me and I was on the dance floor smiling and twirling within 10 minutes. It was the perfect balance of fun and technique. They turned what could have been a depressing evening into a night of pure joy. I will definitely be returning to this studio.
Jane Smith: The first time I went I almost left because I was so nervous but I am very happy that I stayed. I was first greeted by Kat who is super nice. She introduced me to Christian who sat with me and asked me about why I was interested in dancing and explained my first lesson and then he introduced me to my instructor Tom. I have been going for a few weeks and now work with Lance. I didn’t think I would like having two instructors but I do like the different variety of teaching. When I am dancing I feel like a different person. I never thought I would be comfortable enough to stick with it. Everyone there is so patient and encouraging. I am so happy that I didn’t turn and leave and can’t wait to learn more!
Ada F.: Fun time with friendly and supportive everyone.
Raina Searles: Love taking dance classes here with my husband! We’ve been able to learn all the basics of dance and start advancing our skills.
Rachel Carron: I loved taking dance lessons here! Mac was a great and attentive dance teacher and kept things light and fun. We will be back for more lessons and social classes! The studio is awesome and attainable with offerings of free classes/events through Nift
Adam Kalai: Fun, friendly and skilled teachers. Helped me overcome my fear of dancing. Thanks!
Cambridge Ivy Inn: Outstanding and dedicated team of instructors that soon become your friends, leaders, and followers! All you need is the attitude - they supply the rest, the community, the joy of dancing, the muscle memory, and will babysit your lack of rhythm. It only takes a month to get out of the fog, to find your feet and hips. Price wise, I was skeptical at first - it is my nature, hahah. But if you take advantage of the many skills sessions offered for free, you will find it an amazing value. 6 stars !!! - Mark
Sam Naseef: We couldn't recommend Arthur Murray more highly! We wanted to prepare for our first wedding dance, and needed something to do while we were stuck inside over quarantine winter, so we turned to Arthur Murray and their virtual dance class offerings. Everyone we interacted with at Artur Murray was extremely talented, very helpful, and excited to help us in whatever way they could. We learned multiple dances that went along with our song, plus some other dances for quicker songs. The coaches also gave us a framework for the choreography so that we could have something to work from that made the dance look and feel great, and didn't require memorizing exactly what to do step by step for the entire song.It felt as though everyone at Arthur Murray was personally invested in making our first dance exactly what we wanted it to be.
Rose Iorillo: I've walked by this studio every day for the past couple of years, and finally had the chance to check it out after being gifted a couple of free lessons. I had SO MUCH FUN! My instructor was super outgoing and we laughed a lot, but he also was a very clear teacher. I have years of dance experience that for the most part was social dancing, so he really focused on the technique without making me feel overwhelmed. The lessons aren't cheap, and this is definitely a more professional focus as opposed to dancing casually, but as I mentioned, it's a lot of fun. Would recommend for someone interested in leveling up and/or showcasing a lot of different styles of dance.
An Phan: The studio is spacious, well kept, the air is clean with room filters, masks are mandated, hand sanitizers abound, attendance is limited to comply with Covid 19 regulations. The instructors Alex and Dan are highly qualified, energetic, friendly and flexible to students' schedule. I love coming to AM Dance studio in Cambridge for the energy of the place and the incredible learning experience from both individual instructions with extra added teachers and from useful group classes.

DanceSport Boston Ballroom Dance Studio: what do users think?
Susan Keane: John paul did an amazing job choreographing a mother and son dance for my son and me. John Paul is an amazing teacher and choreographer And I highly recommend DanceSport Boston! We could not be more happy with the amazing dance that we learned only after three lessons.
Mary Grayken: Have been enrolled as Dancesport Boston student for over three years. John, Anne Marie, and Ferdinand, lead teachers here are seasoned professional dancers and competitors, who are also gifted, caring and good humored teachers.I used to think of ballroom dance as being corny. Becoming a Dancesport Boston ballroom dance student has not only helped me grow as as dancer, but has also enabled me to re-learn proper posture, develop healthy eating practices, and strengthen social skills..Two Thumbs Up DSB
Lily Kwan: Good to see what's going on.
den pas: Anne Marie and Paul are very welcoming and they will make you feel at home. Everyone is friendly which is a plus because I came in to the studio and didn't know a single soul, but I didn't have problems finding a dance partner because everyone is so accommodating. I always look forward to the group lessons, I learn different steps every class and was able to dance the basic steps on my first and second months with them. Now I'm thinking of doing private lesson to enhance my level of dancing and experience. After each class, I always go home with a smile in my face! :)
Marci Bracken: Loved working with DanceSport Boston. They have great teachers and a very fun supportive environment! MY husband and I took lesson together for fun and we laugh and enjoyed it always. We also learned a few things too :)
Tim Obrien: We started taking ballroom lessons in 2012 to get ready for our daughter's wedding. After three months of lessons I could lead our daughter through a rumba that wasn't going to win anything on DWTS, but it wasn't bad either. After the wedding we were having so much fun we decided to stick with it and see where it went. Where it went was, when our other daughter got married in 2015 we did a whole lot of dancing, not just the Father/Daughter dance, and my wife and I did swing number just to show off. We went on a swing cruise last year and we're going on another one in January, so it's become a thing that we can do together and enjoy.Ann Marie and John know what they're doing. Put yourself in their hands and you will definitely progress and have a lot of fun.
Lyn H: DANCESPORT BOSTONProfessional, positive and focused dance instruction from highly qualified and skilled instructors. The quality of dance lessons combined with the relaxed and supportive atmosphere of the DanceSport Boston studio promote student comfort, confidence and most importantly progress! I couldn't be happier with my private lessons which are tailored toward my dance goals. Group classes here are fun and varied - dance community welcoming and friendly. Studio owners, instructors and staff all work together making DanceSport Boston a top notch dance studio. LH
Kate Salas: Ballroom dancing is the best way to celebrate date night! Ann Marie's social basics class is fun and provides beginner dancers with the necessary skills to attend social dancing events. I would highly recommend Dancesport Boston to couples who enjoy each others company and are looking for a fun, inexpensive way to spend date night.
Linda Abi: I've been a student at DanceSport Boston for nine years now and I can't say enough about the owners / instructors and their teaching - just great! Over the years I've taken mostly group lessons and a couple of privates. If you thought about taking dance but a little intimidated you should really give it a try. The confidence, the exercise and the joy of movement you experience is well worth it. It is a wonderful sport that you can enjoy throughout your life. And last but not least, it opens up a world of new and lasting friendships!
Kevin Burley: I started dancing at Dancesport about 6 years ago and due to their dance instruction I have developed a whole new life for me.if you like to dance , they are the best?
Carol Taylor: I've been taking lessons at Dance Sport Boston for about a year, and really enjoy them. At first, it was a bit intimidating for me to join a group dance class without a partner, but the instructors quickly put me at ease by frequently having everyone alternate partners during the class. The instructors are terrific - former professional dancers who break down the dances into simple, clear steps that are very manageable for an out-of-shape, inexperienced beginners like myself. Private classes are terrific - as you get one-on-one instruction, which enables you to improve your dance skills at a faster speed. This is a great resource for someone who has always wanted to try ballroom dancing (but is nervous to try it solo), for a couple looking to inject a little romance into their relationship, or a bride/groom to be trying to 'up their dance game for their wedding'. I've met some terrific people here and look forward to continuing my dance lessons for years to come.
