Megan Fosha: You won’t find anyone more committed to helping find the right solution for your skin than Anh. I go to her once a month and she is always so personable and listens to my skin concerns. She loves what she does and is always reading and educating herself about skin science and the newest technology.There are complaints on here from clients who think the Hydrafacial is too expensive or didn’t do anything, but as someone who has had it done several times- you need to be patient and the price is the same as anywhere else. It’s expensive technology and the serums used aren’t cheap. You won’t get completely unclogged, no-pores-showing skin the first time, but it will help get rid of a lot of junk (you can see in the water afterwards!) and makes pores smaller. You need to stick with it. I had large clogged pores that are now either gone or way smaller, but I’ve been going once a month or once every six weeks.Anh never tries to upsell me. She is there for me and if I need something, she’ll recommend any of the products she has, which are all top of the line and she puts thought into what she wants to sell. She is honestly the best and she works super hard to run a fair, effective business in a trendy part of Boston!

While thankful it has kept her healthy, the downside has been the aweful effects they have had on her once-radiant skin. Despite multiple visits to dermatologists and changes in medication regimes her face continued to be reddened, inflamed, and broken out. While visiting parents weekend last month I was shocked to see how much worse her skin was. My husband and I immediately went to Back Bay Skincare and Spa where my daughter had gone before for other services.We met Anh, who was SO professional and knowledgeable about the effects of chemo on the skin... and immediately knew her prescribed regime was likely the culprit of her skin getting worse. Anh made recommendations of a special product they sell that is made especially for people like my daughter. She, however, wouldn't sell me products or schedule anything until she saw her skin for herself. (A lot of establishments would have taken advantage of my situation and sold me anything they could, and I would have let them.) We scheduled a consultation Anh. After 1 week of using the products her skin had markedly improved, and at week 2 my daughter is thrilled with the results. Finally this two year struggle is well on it's way to being resolved just two weeks after first meeting with Anh. We feel SO fortunate to have found this gem. Haras Liz: When I was at Tufts Medical a friend suggested this salon, and even though I know work in Longwood I continue to get facials here. I love their facials. They are very thorough and precise. I have oilier skin and like to get facials for cleansing and pore extraction. I have been to swanky spas with much more expensive services but none, in my experience, are as good as Rachel Beauty. One of the best things about getting a facial here is the scalp, temple, shoulder, and upper back massage while wearing a mask. Don't let the humble looking salon fool you, the facials are perfect.

My skin was so out of control before I came, I had dry skin, acne and discolorations all at once that I tried anything and everything that I was told would help. Marissa Henson: Everyone at VV is knowledgeable and extremely skilled. The thing I like most about the vibe there is that the focus will always be on the area you’ve gone there to address, and there is never an off handed comment about other procedures they think you should consider. If you ask for honest feedback about a skin concern then they will give you an opinion and recommendation, of course, but only after the patient brings it up. This is an awesome practice for two reasons - 1) it is a careful and considerate way of discussing a topic that could be sensitive to patients and 2) I don’t ever feel like anyone is upselling me. Building trust with patients is the key to retaining them for the long haul, and that’s probably why I always see so many happy faces there :)

My skin has been a huge insecurity of mine and Ashley has never made me feel embarrassed or bad about it. She’s always given me her honest opinion and helped me make a plan of action to tackle my problem areas. I cannot thank Ashley and the entire staff at Vega enough! They make me feel beautiful every time I leave, I am so grateful I’ve found them and will definitely be a client for life.

Stephanie (SMP): Short review: No matter what happens at Vega or the severity of the situation, never expect to get your money back. And considering the treatments are expensive, buyer beware. Owner will also ghost you when you ask to get money back.Long review: I have been to Vega Vitality a few times before for a facial and a medspa treatment with no issues. I went back a few weeks ago for a new procedure I had never done. The NP knew I had never done this particular treatment. I ended up getting a massive reaction to the procedure which caused me two doctor visits, an antibiotic and multiple creams to fix, as well as over a week in hiding. When I first reached out the money I had the reaction I sent an email with photos to them. Their patient coordinator just responded that the NP who did the procedure would get back to me. 2 emails later she finally did at the end of the day and said it was a normal reaction and people get red and irritated. I'm pretty sure she never opened up my photos or read my email in detail as my situation was nothing like the normal reaction. I felt unheard and ignored for a full day while I was in the throws of a massive problem. I asked for the owner to call me which that evening she did. She thankfully took it more seriously and gave recommendations over text for treatment. She admitted that they did not do the procedure on me on the lowest introductory setting because "I had micro needling before". Every area of my face that was on the low setting (forehead, chin, nose) I had no reaction. The rest of my face where the setting was higher I did. This is my view is their negligence as I had never had this particular procedure.Despite me having to spend $500+ on doctors and remedies plus cancelling a weeks worth of plans and being in massive discomfort, I have yet to get my money back despite asking and the owner is now ghosting me about it. Procedure was $750, no small amount. I was offered nothing for my troubles. Zero.While they can't control me having a reaction to a procedure they COULD have lessened the severity of it and taken a more conservative approach And for a client who had so many problems on a procedure that effected their life for a week+, to not give me my money back or offer up anything is just poor form.

I would definitely give a 5 star review if they had two micro needling machines. Because I go with the same friend every time, we have to do micro needling every other time because of the one machine. Same if we both want to do microdermabrasion. Otherwise everything else is fantastic! Dan was great with massages too!

Blank B: I am moving out of the country, and by accident purchased a facial credit from Skin Spa without knowing that it would be processed without being able to select a date, and there are no available appointments before my flight date. I called the front desk here to ask if they could help me get a refund due to my situation. They asked me to rebook for another day at a far away location right before the date I leave the country. I told them I could not book one because, after not seeing any availability at this location, I booked a facial at another spa place and can not cancel that one due to their cancellation policy. Then they told me that “I am refusing a solution for this situation,” so I asked them if there was any way for them to reach out to management, and they said they would not report this because it would not get approved, and that there's nothing they can do to help me.
