Kayla Pringle: As someone with an egg allergy, it’s not common for me to have a great tasting birthday cake. Oakleaf has managed to make two amazing gourmet cakes in my life in the past year; the first being the most delicious Pumpkin Spice vegan cake that was my wonderful birthday cake I don’t think I’ve ever had cake that good!! The second was for my partner and was a lovely red velvet cake that I’m still waiting for someone to share a slice with me! The customer service when ordering the one for my partner was phenomenal and I truly trust no other shop when it comes to cakes!
brianlidawg: Great spot to grab a quick brekkie! Very quaint atmosphere combined with stellar pastries and coffee give the place a warmth and homey feel. They make their own Chai latte blend and its delicious! Their croissants are tasty too! 10/10 would recommend!

Jacob V: Oak Leaf did our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect. Aside from tasting amazing, they worked with us to customize certain decor on the cake, including adding a fondant figure of our dog on the side which looked exactly like him. The delivery was smooth and well on time in advance of our ceremony/reception, and the cake itself was a hit on our dessert table.

Daniel Bergen: I got the chocolate lovers gourmet cake for my mother's 80th birthday, 5" for an astounding $40 and it wasn't chocolatey at all, the frosting only tasted like butter and sugar, and I got bad heartburn. Definitely not worth it.Response to reply below: not only did I ensure it served at room temperature as they tell you repeatedly, I wondered what it is about these cakes that they are so insistent that they are served that way. I have had lots of cakes before that were served chilled that tasted fine, maybe they are skimping on ingredients. Anyway, this cake wasn't very good and not worth the money.

Vivian Carrera, née Chen: My husband's favorite anime is Dragon Ball Z, so when it was almost his birthday, I decided that I was going to get him a Dragon Ball Z cake. I found multiple top rated bakeries in and near Boston. To my chagrin, all of the bakeries turned me down because making a Dragon Ball Z was not considered very Instagram-worthy.I kept on looking, however, and finally found Oakleaf Cakes. I contacted them with barely a line of notes because I assumed Oakleaf would just turn me down. To my surprise, with only 6-7 days until my husband's birthday, Oakleaf said it would make the cake!Because Oakleaf was not among the highest rated bakeries in Boston, I expected an intricate cake due to the high price, but did not expect a great tasting cake. I was wrong! As someone who generally does not enjoy cakes, I actually really loved the chocolate chocolate cake Oakleaf made for my husband! My husband also loved how the cake looked and cherished it so much that he could not bring himself to eat the dragon fondant sculpture until it went bad!We are so impressed!

Nicholas Price: Several years ago, before we got married, my wife got a birthday cake from Oakleaf Cakes Bake Shop. It was filled with realistic jasmine flowers made out of frosting. It was so beautiful and delicious that we knew we needed Oakleaf to prepare the cakes for our wedding day. And they did not disappoint in the least.For our wedding, they provided three elegant and delicious cakes to sit on top of platforms on our desert table. In addition, we ordered a large number of macaron's accentuate the beauty of the cakes and the rest of the desert table. And yet again, both the cakes and macarons were delicious.The staff were friendly and easy to work with. They delivered everything to the venue on time. We would highly recommend working with Oakleaf for any special cakes you need.
Susan Sommers: Staff was wonderful, but the cake was tasteless. We bought a little chocolate cake with white icing for my husband’s birthday. It was a beautiful cake and well done, just had no flavor to the cake. The icing texture was wonderful, but, again, lacking flavor - definitely not your average buttercream sweetness. (The cake was served appropriately two hours out of the shop’s display case.) The sugar cookie tasted like shortening rather than buttery. So disappointed. Five stars for the staff, one star for the cake and cookie. Bottom line, not our style of cake.

Randi Simons: I ordered a vegan cake from Oakleaf. It looked beautiful was wonderful to eat. I had some confusion about my payment when I placed the order, and ended up having to call and ask them to cancel the order so I could resubmit it. Communication was a bit difficult because no one answers the phone when you call, but my calls were returned and I got all the assistance I needed, so I was grateful for that. Would definitely recommend.

Leonisa Love Songs: I order a vanilla cake with caramel filling. When we cut the cake the filling was not caramel. It tasted like Brown sugar with butter. I would really advise them if they do not have the type of filling please do not tell your customer yes you can do it. The cake was ok, the decor was nice but the filling was terrible . I was really disappointed.

Alison Kinzie: We love Sweet Tooth! We frequent Sweet Tooth whenever we are planning a special occasion or simply looking for treats to bring to a friend’s house. And so, when we started planning our wedding, having Sweet Tooth do our cake was a no-brainer. The 2-tier wedding cake and 250 cupcakes were absolutely delicious, unique, and stunning / meticulously designed. (Glenn actually used an image of my wedding dress to replicate the lace pattern in the icing, and decorated with flowers from my bouquet!) As a testament to how amazing the dessert was, our wedding planner told us that they were having a tough time getting our guests onto the dance floor as everyone was in the dessert room enjoying cupcakes! Thanks so much to Glenn and the team at Sweet Tooth for making our special day so wonderful!

Cabral: I normally don’t do this but as I’ve been awaiting a phone and 10% refund for 2 1/2 months, I figure it’s time to shine the light on @ sweet tooth bakery.The 1st pic is the cake I ordered from Sweet tooth for my daughter’s college graduation party, pic # 2 is the cake I picked up on Saturday and Pic # 3 is aftermath on Sunday and was left without a cake for the party.I spoke to Dave on 8/13 after I’ve left several messages and emails as of 8/2 he was very dismissive and asked why it took so long for me to call them with issue, had to remind him that no one has responded to my phone call or emails. He also repeatedly kept telling me the pricing of the cake would’ve been different for a “tall cake” as I informed him, money was not the issue but the quality and design. He proceeded to tell me that they are not responsible for the cake after it leaves there facility, again not my issue.I did spent 30mins on the phone initially to ensure the cake would’ve been created as above and Jennifer ensured me it would as you can see from the pic above it was not even close, per Dave they are “unable to reproduce a cake found on google.” The baker should’ve informed me they he was unable to produce such cake but instead he told me that he would be able to make it as such sDave, informed me that Jennifer would call me the following day and issue me a 10% refund and as of yet I have not received a call nor refund.Sweet tooth was one of my favorite bakeries however I am truly disappointed in them and have lost faith in their services!! I hope they’re able provide their staff and bakers with adequate customer service training so others do not go through this experience.

Chana Green: I sent cupcakes as a birthday gift today. They arrived on time, however they were tipped over. I’ve ordered from Georgetown many times, however this may be my last time.
Maya Shen: Decent cupcakes, especially you like frostings, but if not, 1/2 of these cupcakes are frostings. The quality alone doesn’t justify the price as they’re quite small, the cheesecake one have lumps and cake’s not all moist, so some inconsistencies there. However the flavor profile for each cupcake is very nice, all well decorated and the store’s located at one of the best parts of Boston.
Tristen Sierra: Absolute WORST experience! I was in DC and purchased $80+ at this location. Included in my purchase was 2 ice coffees. I got on the road for a 5 hour drive and about and hour into my drive we picked up the coffees (out of the cup holders) to drink them. But unfortunately I was unable to drink them since there was a hole in the cup and the coffee went all in my cupholder and then when I took it out and turn all over both of us on the car. I am mediately called the location with no answer. I called several times and left several messages. I also reached out to their corporate location and called several times once I was holding online for an hour and then they hung up on me. The location has never called me back nor has their corporate office. I emailed the corporate office who got back to me and really could care less. All they did was offer me a gift card for my next return. After the horrible customer service that I encountered I would never returned any of their locations. But mind you in my initial email to the corporate office I explain to them that I live in New York which is five hours away from one of their locations. And I would not be going back. When I told them that unfortunately I’m not going back to your location due to these factors they completely stopped reaching out to me. This is a disgusting way to do business!
Tracy Morris: I ordered 2 dozen birthday cupcakes suppose to decorate with the little happy birthday on the top none of the cupcakes where decorated with that, just some sprinkles on top of the icing so disappointed I try calling no one answered the phone, not sure what kind of business they are running. This place was never like this.

Patrick McKenna: To start they are overpriced for what you get and there was a long line. Despite the line we decided to try it. The location is convenient, inside is nice, and the cupcakes looked delicious. As for the cupcakes themselves, the standard vanilla on vanilla was delicious. However, the chocolate peanut butter cupcake tasted horrible. The peanut butter tasted as if it was made with salted butter, and the chocolate had a burnt coffee taste to it. The purple unicorn (essentially vanilla with food coloring) tasted as if it was just cream cheese that sat out for a week as the “icing” was crunchy. The actual cupcakes were hard and lacked and sort of freshness. My wife ordered Gluten Free, and could barely get through one, as it was hard, crunchy and tasteless. The staff were cold, just pushed people along. That being said the gentleman boxing the cupcakes was amazing, super friendly and funny. For the amount we paid, we were highly disappointed. We expected so much better, especially with all the bakeries in the city. Would not recommend.
Jenny Kim: I think they’re fine if you go in person, but I would never ever order online again. I ordered cupcakes for my birthday and perhaps, in retrospect, I should have checked them in store, but they got my order wrong. When I opened the cupcakes at my party, I got really sad that they weren’t the ones I ordered. I ordered about a week in advance so they would have time to prep them, but I guess they did not. They gave me a cheaper set than the one I ordered (which had more decor). I would have been more okay with it if the store had warned me upon pickup that they couldn’t fulfill my order in the way I wanted, but they didn’t communicate that to me. I honestly had to really hold back crying (maybe dumb but it had already been a long day). Moreover, I made this online order on the official Georgetown Cupcakes website so I guess I had trusted it would have been fine. I guess I’m just disappointed and frustrated at the lack of communication and the lack of accuracy. They also initially couldn’t find my order so what should have been a quick trip took about 10 minutes while someone walked around the store and kept on searching for bags of orders until they found mine. Anyway, long story short, I think that they’re okay if you go in person, but if you’re doing an online order, please check before you leave the store. I wish I had.
Serena Ray Fox: I don’t exactly see the hype. I tried it a while ago and don’t really remember what it tasted like, all my mom said is that it wasn’t very good from what she remembered, but then I tried it again this past February and I was disappointed again. I don’t think 12 cupcakes are worth 48 dollars, I think the price is only justified because it is a popular spot in Boston.

Asked the staff why there was no fudge filling and was told they had "a fudge flavor", whatever that means. Ended up tossing them in the trash.

TwoRe La: This place use to be good, but after the pandemic they are making the cupcakes much smaller in size. I went there on Sunday and the two cupcakes that I order were hard and dry. Even the cupcake paper that they were baked in was hard to come off. The cupcakes were dry and not moist. This use to be one of my favorite cupcake places to go to in Boston but not anymore. I'm not sure if they have a new baker but I'm very disappointed. Now I'm going to try and find a new cupcakes spot in Boston.

The reason is I have to be fair and judge the taste based on local perception of what is good.

The cannoli at Bova’s have a completely smooth filling that’s not too sweet. The other pastries I got are also delicious, but the cannoli are the must try!Edit: I returned to try the tiramisu. All I’ll say is, if I lived near Bova’s I’ll gain twenty pounds in a year.

Jennifer Chang: Lackluster experience here after ordering a 6” chestnut birthday cake. I expected it to have 2 layers and it to contain the light, airy chestnut I’m used to having at other Chinese cake bakeries but it was one layer with the top layer a sickenly sweet, dense “chestnut” (tasted more like mung bean) filling and a mound of whipped cream. You can tell even from the untouched cake picture that the top is mostly cream and filling. For $42 it was not worth it at all. I won’t be back.

Unfortunately it's nicer to look at than to eat.For those who are considering it, the cake consists of lightly sweet white sponge cake (reminiscent of dense white Wonder Bread in texture and taste) with whipped cream and mango chunks between layers, topped with mango slices. The mango is tart and not very flavorful. I was hoping it would be filled with some type of mango mousse, but it's not.I imagine their other fruit cake is similar, but would probably work better as the strawberries and/or other berries would complement the light cake and cream better than the tart and tasteless mango.

I then called the lady and asked what happened and then she said that I have write in the tip line for $5 when I know that I did not do that since I just went there to pick up the cake and left quickly for the birthday party! I then asked her to send me the receipt that I have wrote in the tip line for $5 and she said she can’t since I did it in the machine. I was like what machine ?! I know $5 is not a lot of money but it is NOT RIGHT to SCAM customer like that and then hung up on the phone with them ! This will be my first and last time buying from them ever again!!! So please pay attention to your receipt and the tip line. Also, their sponge cake tastes old and the taro cake has too much cream!

Doris Herrera: Party Favors gets a 3rd star only because if their options of party supplies. Their pastries are usually not as good as you would expect. The presentation of the pastries are beautiful but flavors I think are just ok. Hit or miss.The only thing that I've had that blew me away was the chocolate decadence. Delicious 🤤 other than that, do yourself a favor and find another place, there are plenty of options in this area.Last year, the last time I went in there there, I got some cupcakes for a baby reveal party and half the cupcakes didn't have the filling inside 🤦 As you can imagine that's not only disappointing but also embarrassing. I went in there, talk to someone about it, I was very polite might I add but I never got a call back. Nothing was ever done about it.They do have a nice selection of party supplies. Especially for milestone birthdays and things like that. In my opinion a bit too overpriced so I don't shop there for my birthday party supplies per se but I do like their selections. I have bought specific items from there.

Pickup was seamless. She's a sweet and talented person, extremely talented. The cake was gorgeous in addition to being incredibly delicious.

This last weekend, we were assigned to pick one up and drive it 3 hours west for our grandson's 3rd birthday party. Cakes are delicious, icing is fantastic and, if you're getting a few contrasting flavor cupcakes to cover your bases, they are excellent too. Donna's does excellent work with decorations - standard or custom.Prices are moderate and service is great. I'm mobility impaired, and they'll gladly bring my order out for me and put it into the car. Must order a couple of days ahead, but there is plenty of motivation to do that.
