Michael Goulde: I made an online appointment for one-year service on my 2023 BMW M550i. I was told the service would take about an hour. I called back a few days later and asked about getting a state inspection. They said the service would take about an hour and a half. I brought the car in and the service advisor said the service would take about two hours. After three hours, I told them to forget the car wash and give me the car. That's when I found out they didn't do the inspection I asked for! If I had known it was going to take 3 hours I would have dropped the car off and gone home. Instead, I sat in the waiting room for three hours! With no updates after the original estimate of two hours had passed. It seems to me that the person I spoke to on the phone and the Service Advisor were on different planets. I don't think the Service Advisor had any idea why I brought my car in. Geez!

Bryan K: Found a 2013 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD with 50k miles for sale on CarGurus. The only reason we entertained coming to look at it was it was priced right at 100k miles below industry standard for the model year. We drove 3 hours up from to Boston from CT to look at it after doing a video chat with the salesman Steve. We had some back and forth on the price, after showing them two independent sources that their asking price was overpriced, they came down. We went up to look at it, first thing we did was a test drive. Steve took us on a very long test drive as I wanted to drive it to check for mechanical functionality but my wife wanted to drive it also as it was going to be her vehicle. When we got back to the dealership and I started my in-person inspection of the vehicle, I found some issues that should have been noted and corrected by the mechanics that do their "170 point safety inspection". Steve was adamant that Herb Chambers BMW will spend whatever necessary to fix the issues I found to my satisfaction, however the issues I did find were only the surface of some underlying problems that could surface 6 months down the road which would then become my problem. Steve was great, very professional, very personable, really did put some time and effort into this sale and I felt bad about walking away from the deal. I did get my $1,000 deposit back in a timely manner. I would have given this 5 stars even though I didn't buy the vehicle, if it weren't for the serious issues I found with the vehicle that should have been corrected before I wasted 10 hours of my day, on a Sunday, arranging a babysitter for our two young children when daycare centers aren't open on Sundays, getting the bank check, insurance binder, etc.Thank you Steve. And thank you Herb Chambers for a professional encounter. I would recommend you give them a chance to earn your business. I would have bought a vehicle here if they had another Highlander.

Deakins Keith: The dealership charge you $199 for checking your alignment status even though they aren’t able to fully complete the alignment job due to some parts issue. You are wasting time and your money merely for understanding the problem rather than getting actual effort itself. In my point of view , if the technician unable to do the alignment job completely no matter what, then they shouldn’t charge anything from the customer because after their help your vehicle is still tilting both side like before.
Louis Coiro: I went in for service which included an oil change, replacing a light and to have a recall completed. I had received a $100.00 gift card from Herb Chambers in the mail which I appreciated. The service manager said that the car was also due for a vehicle check service. He told me this entailed a detailed look at all components, checking all fluids and that this was a very through and extensive look at the vehicle. My car has 143000 miles on it so I thought this would be a good idea. Within 10 minutes of the car service starting I received a 30 second video regarding the vehicle check services performed which cost $249.95. I felt this was a waist of money as it was not as complete as what was told it would be.

Leena Pen: Review was long over due but customers should beware and ask ALL questions before coming to this location. Upon arriving, everyone from front desk to service were pleasant. It was until the service was actually being done that problems occurred.Pre paid and ordered one xenon light costing $390.89. They never contacted me to let me know my part came in. I was told it would be 1-2 hours to install but when arriving to my appointment I was now told 4-6 hours or by EOD. Mind you its about $100/hr for labor.After drop off, got a phone call 15 mins later to inform me that my bumper had to be removed in order to install this light which is an extra cost on top of the 4-6 hour labor cost. Sounded fishy to me so I contacted Tully BMW in Nashua (Where I usually do service) and they actually laughed and said "so every time your light needs replacement it's gonna cost over $700? this isn't a Ferrari."After going back and forth with BMW medford I knew they were agitated and wanted my car out of there. I eventually got another phone call within the next 25 mins letting me know my car was ready for pick up. Final total for labor was $170. (I have all my receipts) Much better than the $400 they wanted to pocket me for.I come from a family of BMW's, 4 series, two 5's, and 7. I will be sticking to Tully BMW in Nashua after this headache.

Brooks Goddard: My most recent experience with the Herb Chambers’sMini-Cooper service department on Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton was as successful as my previous experiences. I arrived in a sputtering 2014 Countryman and was attended to right away. Mark Ravin processed the car and told me 30 minutes later what the matter was and that 2-3 hours would be needed for repairs. I took advantage of the comfortable lounge and the proximity to Clear Flour Bakery to pass the time. I purchased this car used in 2015, and it has served me very well ever since. We always go to Herb Chambers and its representative Mark Ravin when our car needs service.

g vdb: If you like getting ripped off and believe $249 is an acceptable price for a simple alignment… Come to BMW of Peabody! Otherwise, I recommend going to Sudbury or Norwood instead.
susan koen: My new ( new to me) BMW 4 series coupe, incidentally, not purchased at BMW of Peabody but another BMW dealership, developed an acute problem around 4pm Friday afternoon. I brought it to BMW of Peabody and was helped by Matt H. Service Advisor, despite the late in the day hour, he was able to have my car evaluated quickly. Matt was professional and efficient, Thank you Matt! Also, many thanks to the technician that evaluated my car and diagnosed the problem; thank you for taking the time to look at my car ( tho not good news) I appreciate you too!
Dawn Ferreira: I’m not feeling the love from BMW. I just purchased a pre-owned BMW and was scheduled to pick it up yesterday, but was told the inspection sticker station ran out of paper, so we rescheduled for today. We arrived to find out that our car failed the inspection, so we would have to come back next week to get it taken care of. The car was pulled up and we were given help connecting our phones to the car and that was it. No apologies for the inconvenience, just “it happens all the time” because of the computer system updates. congrats on the new car, thank you for your business…nothing. We got in the car and noticed the engine light was in. We called the sales person and he was off site, so our call went to voicemail. We tried to find someone to help, but nobody was available. So frustrating! We thought the issue might be related to the sticker issue and decided to head out. As we were driving we also noticed a crack in the windshield. Ugh! The sales person called up back and recommended bringing it back to be serviced and they would give us a loaner. Talk about a huge let down on the delivery of my new car. Who delivers a car to a customer with no sticker and the engine light on?? Does anyone double check for these things? We returned to the dealership and directed to the car loaner desk. Again, no apologies, no assurance that we will make this right..just wait here for a loaner. We finally get the loaner and leave the dealership 2 HOURS after our initial arrival. I was so excited for today, to pick up my new car. I’m now sitting in the loaner as I write this review. At this point I feel like a number, something to push through to hit the month end numbers. The most impersonal car purchase of my life (this is our 4th BMW purchase). This experience has soured me so much they I’m not even sure I still want the car. My recommendation to anyone looking for a pre-owner BMW is to look elsewhere and don’t shop at the end of the month/quarter. Most employees that we spoke with were exhausted and just exhausted. Could be short handed, which I could understand, but the lack of curtesy is what I’m most upset about. I feel like nobody really cared about my purchasing experience.

L C: Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Seems like this location’s focus is selling cars rather than service. I accidentally scheduled repair of my cracked windshield at this location rather than the service center I love on centennial drive. I was handed loaner keys and basically told to find the car myself outside in a sea of bmws. When I returned and paid, I was told they could not find my keys. Finally bringing my car out, I asked if I could remove the tape from the windshield and the guy said I think you leave it on for 24 hours and maybe don’t open your windows too but you should ask your advisor. I walked inside to ask my advisor and him and another advisor were saying different things. 24 hours or 48 hours. Working in healthcare and knowing nothing about cars, I had to google my own answers. Very disappointed in this location. I truly thought Ashton Kutcher was going to come out and say I was being punked. One star for finding my keys. Go elsewhere for any service.
Bill Atherton: Loaner car available if needed however ended up not leaving for service; turns out my car not being able to shift from N to D in a carwash is a "safety feature" to keep you from slipping into drive and bumping into someone. Stupid. But the people are always great, and my work, if any, is covered by a(n) (expensive) warranty. Work is done quickly and efficiently and they give the car a wash after service. Great service shop. They have a nice little Cafe (with a TV) in waiting area where you can get coffee, tea and cookies or muffins.

Did mostly everything online, came in and met the sales person Ray and sales manager Rick. Everyone was awesome and welcoming. Super easy to work with. This is one of the biggest vehicle purchases I’ve ever made. They made it effortless. Smooth process. I drove about an hour to get to this dealership. I bought my last BMW closer to home near Boston but, they were “too busy” with “other customers” to help me out. It worked out for me in the end. Glad I came here. I appreciate it so much. I’m truly happy. This is my best car buying experience yet and I hope to do business with you again. Well worth the trip!
Glaucia McKinney: I had a wonderful experience purchasing my new car at BMW oh Peabody! The sales person, Luis Mendez was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Beautiful and clean facility. It was a very smooth process. I had to drive 1 hour to get there, but it was so worth it!

Justin Yu: This is the second time I’ve taken my vehicle in for service and they have messed up something. First time they spilled oil during an oil change. To make up for it they gave me a free complimentary detail. Brought in the car for the detail and they damage the driver door ambient lights causing a bright spot and broke my front plate cover. Not bring in my vehicle here for service anymore.
Dr. Altschul: The most courteous and swift service, done perfectly the first time! Shout out to "Nick" in parts for helping me out with a really tricky order. He was exemplary! Even the sales associate, "Greg D.", said hi and helped to make the appointment run so smoothly. Just a nice guy...I bought the car from him in November 2022 and it's just 5 months later for a routine tire changeover. How many sales people actually care after you drive off the lot until ready to buy again? Greg is a true BMW enthusiast and gentleman. I will only do business with SOUTH SHORE BMW.

gus toreno: The human element continues to be excellent. . The only problem i had was that they used to send same vehicle or better when you got a loaner, and now (i did not know that) they send X1. I have a problem with my legs and it was very difficult to get in and out on the X1 (i drive an X3). So i had to say no to changing the tires so i could get my car sooner.My service advisor and the gentleman that brought the car were both awesomeThank you very much!!!

He surprisingly saved me money by telling me what I really could hold off on and what I may not need if I plan to sell my older model in the next year.
