Parker's Restaurant: what do users think?
Chris daCamara: If you’re going to offer Chicken and Waffles at the price point Parker is charging, the Chicken had better be amazing… it wasn’t.My dish came out with three pieces of chicken, full bone-in - two very small breasts one small drum stick. All three were undercooked. Of the parts that were mildly edible, the dredge coating was underwhelming at best and mushy, not crispy.I was offered anything else on the menu as a replacement dish… I opted for the Waldorf salad. Also underwhelming. The good news is the famed Parker house rolls are still life-alteringly delicious. With so many other dining options for brunch in the area, I’m regretting having selected this one for the party who accompanied me.
Luke Richardson: Better fast food chicken than other places.
Richard Greensted: This has fallen from the heights. Eggs Benedict were overcooked and actually rather unpleasant. I was told I couldn't have a bloody mary because the manager didn't approve. Eventually they relented. I love this hotel, but Parker's is to be avoided.Food: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Melissa Gautier: The breakfast was delicious
Jonis Shahidi: Food: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Will Langston: Somehow we missed that it was in a hotel. It looked like the best breakfast where we were. It was. The service was great, the food was great. I would never have made French toast out of a pretzel, but now I know how good it is, so I will. The bathroom is upstairs.
Johan Chabrel: Traditional American fare in elegant setting at Omni house hotelFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Chris Fortunato: Out of this world breakfast in a location full of history. The Parker rolls and boston cream pie were both invented here and are a must try.I also suggest the corn beef and hash. While not as impressive as the rolls or pie, it was great. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and unlimited refills. The coffee wasn't the best, especially company to the numerous shops in the vicinity.
David Matke: The food wasn't very good, especially considering the very high price.Food: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Susan Decasale: Had breakfast, was good but ordered Parker house rolls and boston cream pie, both stale, sooooo disappointed 😞Food: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Erika Lawless: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Marilyn Barba: Excellent food. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Our breakfast was amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
Jason Macey: This restaurant serves the original, best Boston Cream pie. It's not much of a surprise that the hotel and restaurant were favorites of the writers who frequented them over a century ago, nor that it is a must-experience today.
Jasmine Kings: Happy with all the food and the staff was excellent.
Kayla N: Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. It was a little pricey but that’s to be expected for a more upscale hotel restaurant. Their prices matched the quality and service.Only complaint is I wish they had a more options on the menu
Karthik Murthy: I Was in town for meetings and stopped in to try the Boston cream pie before my flight. As soon as I said I just wanted to get dessert, the server's attitude changed completely ( There were empty tables everywhere! I would slightly understand this behavior if the place was packed....but it wasn't). 5 mins later, I was served a Boston creme pie that tasted like it had just barely defrosted. Parts of the cake still tasted like they were frozen. I guess they wanted me out of there as fast as possible.Incredibly underwhelming cake and disappointed in what felt like snobbery by the waitstaff.
Tim Samuel: Quite frankly, terrible food. It is overpriced merely because of the status and history of the building that it is made in. Breakfast potatoes were bland, did not see a shred of seasoning as far as my eye could tell. They also upsold us beverages, involving us refusing it the first time and only accepting it after we were asked again "Are you sure?", because it seemed as if it was provided complementary; unprofessional and tacky. Now for the famous Boston Cream Pie, this thing is dry... the whip cream that it was accompanied with also tasted like something you would get from the supermarket. Not impressed.
Andrew Mueller: Review is for the Boston Cream Pie only. It's phenomenal. Got one shipped to Northern VA via Goldbelly. Pricey. AF!!! But we'll worth it. The cake itself is a warm milk sponge and is FANTASTIC even after being frozen. The cream portion is rock solid, and then that dark(ish) chocolate topper? Woo boy...glad I splurged on it.
Anastasia Balandina: 5 stars, 10/10, will recommend and go again. Gorgeous restaurant inside the hotel, very nice staff, and the food is delicious. Had the French onion soup and the Boston cream pie. Absolutely great!
Michael Spero: Great breakfast. Boston cream pie is definitely a must have.
Christine M: Oh mannnn that Boston Cream Pie is magic!Everything else was deffo mediocre & way spendy (ie BLT), but I'd come back for that superfluffy cake again & again ❤️The space feels way elevated bordering on stuffy, but we were advised by the host that there is no dress code, soooo...Sweaty, dehydrated, post-Freedom Trail miles, 137% humidity, shorts/tees/(empty)CamelBaks cake it was.Supersweet service, despite our conditions.

Nikita Shuntá: I visited Boston for my 33rd birthday and ate breakfast here. It must be a popular place because it was packed & the line went out the door. This croissant breakfast sandwich was worth the wait & so delicious. I still think about it being back in Washington. It's a must try if you ever dine in.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Divakar Jain: Delicious food as always. Had the Homemade Quinoa-Black Beans Burger and the Tofu Burrito Bowl. We were full and yet wanted to have more. The only small complaint was that the delicious cookies and cream milkshake was too thick for the skinny straw. Would definitely recommend the place though.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Fred Muehter: Pulled pork sandwich was excellent, Cobb salad was lacking flavor--disappointing.
L. Cartwright: Walked down charming old Charles street to find this cute breakfast spot. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. Food was really great! Tried Huervous Ranchero and Bagel Breakfast Sandwich..will Def go back to try other menu items!
Garry O’S: Such a great spot for a traditional American pancake breakfast. So much so that I came back a second time on the one trip to Boston. The value for money, and it being situated in a spectacular neighbourhood, makes it even better.
Ellen Seeherman: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Gelitza Sabogal: The food is amazing! Diego, the chef, did a great job creating the perfect and delicious Menu!!It has an influence of Latin American food
Egor Gurev: I don't see the reason of the hype around this place. The food is average, nothing special, I have see much better french toast and benedict in many places. The main disadvantage is the people, they are standing right near your table and staring in your plate. Feel myself like on a market in India.
Eva Sultana: Review for brunch!I’ve been to the paramount twice thus far and it’s always been a good, cute brunch spot. It’s smaller on the inside, but they do pull out tables outdoors during the better weathered seasons. I believe it’s also a stop of the “haunted ghost tours of Boston”, so that’s fun.The restaurant gets packed due to its limited capacity seating, but I’ve never had a long wait. The food is efficiently brought out after ordering as well, so I’d say service time is generally good. The menu has a variety of wraps, bowls, French toast and pancakes. I enjoy the shakshuka with eggs, and the French toast is their popular dish! The coffee menu is good as well. Overall, a yummy and quick brunch for under $30/person for a meal and coffee isn’t too shabby. I recommend this restaurant!
Breanne Durham: Absolutely wonderful experience at this family-owned restaurant. Diverse menu (lots of fresh options) and friendly staff.
Jarrito Fresa: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Tim Neil: Be prepared to wait if you go around peak breakfast or lunch times, but it’s worth it! The cozy seating and quick service provides for a true classic diner experience. Don’t be mistaken, the food is solid.Recommended dishes Huevos Rancheros …More
Alejandro Andres Henao Palacio: Restaurante con un excelente menú. Muy bien servicio. Y excelente administración.

John Harvey: Its ok if you do not wish to leave the hotel. Had two servers in the evening, one was very polite the other could do with some training on how to listen to a customer. Raymond Gordon: This restaurant is perfect. They made me an omelette exactly how I like it. The staff were fantastic and cooked the omelette on site for me. They made me a real nice ice coffe as well. The seating area was quite and relaxing. Everything was clean and a more elegant experience with cloth napkins.Prices were on the high end, but I was told that I would have to travel about a mile to find another decent breakfast joint. The family did not want to leave the hotel room but they had to go items where I brought a muffin, bacon and a breakfast sandwich up to the room. The breakfast sandwich was very delicious, tasty and very filling. The bacon and eggs were plentiful and way better then the local DD.The muffin. Was real tasty but was an average consistency as to what one would expect from a muffin sitting in a case.We were told upon entering the hotel that we had $10 off if we ate here, but upon exiting they said it was only for dinner.Over all we would eat here again as there are plenty of seats, the service was top notch and the eating area is very pleasant.Parking: Very expensive parking garage and not sure if they validate.
Bernise Bartlett: Bartender was very confident about making a Bloody Mary. To say the least, it was not a Bloody Mary. Maybe dirty toilet water, but not a Bloody Mary. However, if you get Bill for a bartender he makes true ABSOLUTE BEST bloody Mary’s. Bill is amazing.

Ray Stevens: As a hotel restaurant and bar, this is about what you'd expect with the exception that service was better than anticipated. We had a group of about 10 people for drinks, appetizers, and pizza, and the bartender and servers were very attentive and friendly. On a weeknight, it wasn't overly busy, allowing for good conversation and good energy without being too chaotic.Vegetarian options: There were several menu options for vegetarians in our group
Judy Ellen Corcoran: Clam chowder was delicious, but the spinach salad with orzo and feta was awful. The balsamic dressing was very salty, as was the feta (saltier than feta *should* be). It's also very pricey. $6 for a cup of coffee? Really?? Service was very good, however.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Vanessa Friedrich: Bad service, too quick, attentive.Springwater in a plastic bottle for $4 is just not incredible...The prices for the portions don't fit. The salmon was good, the new england cakes are a starter portion, the tiramsu was the worst we've ever had.The atmosphere is bad, it's a lounge feeling, no restaurant at all. To many TV screens, tables too close to each other. In total, for a snack ok but not for a dinner.

They have a nice crisp to them, topped with some seasoning. Ufff! So good. We wanted to try the milkshake that looked fun, but got too full to order anything else. The atmosphere was okay. The seating is compact, and there was no music playing in the background (noted it was already loud with so many people talking at the same time). But the server was very nice. The experience of just being there with good company was it. Great food and great company.

Our group of 4 loved the atmosphere. We will be back.Vegetarian options: Lots of tasty options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free par excellence.
Doug Cormier: Ordered take out through mobile order service and was double charged. Upon arriving to pick up my order I was told I was double charged and instead of saying come inside let’s take care of this she laughed and said looks like you are having a big breakfast. So figured I’d reach out to toast tab thinking it was an error on their part. It was not. I reached out to north street grille and was told I would be refunded. A day later they call and tell me since I took the food I got what I paid for. Like I wanted a hundred dollars worth of breakfast for two people. The food literally went in the trash I could not find someone to give it to. Sad to say I will not be back.
Bridget Doran: Service was amazing and the food was outstanding!!!

Sonsie: what do users think?
Oliver Stewart: Came here with my brother for his Birthday dinner, this place would also make a great location for a romantic date. The service was great and the food even better. We had the Pork Belly Bao, Shitaki Mushroom Gyoza, Salmon and the Chocolate bread and butter pudding. The Gyoza and the pudding were the standouts to me but all of it was delicious.I washed my dinner down with one of the better espresso martinis I've had at a restaurant. The only real downside was we were sat near the entrance so whenever someone came in we got treated to a cold blast of air.8/10 would gladly return
James “Jamie” Kuesel: The food and atmosphere were very good. The salmon I got was fantastic. However, it was very overpriced, especially for what you got. The salmon was basically just a maybe 6-10oz salmon, a few vegetables in a broth thrown by its side. For $36 dollars that just isn't worth it. Should be $22 tops. The dish should really come with some carb. Maybe some rice, potatoes, or even just some bread to fill you up. Could push it to maybe worth $25-28. The pizzas seemed fairly priced but many other dishes seemed overpriced as well.Unless the dishes are changed, via either adding more to them or reducing their price, I will not be coming back. Otherwise good.
Deven Barbero: Dawn and Ava were both great, have been back multiple times due to their service. Food and drinks were both phenomenal but they really have made the experience
Zeynep Beliz Oktay: I went there multiple times for brunch. Most plates are very delicious and good in portion. But I did not like their avocado toast style, too much tomato sauce.Anyway, I d bring anyone visiting Boston to this place for brunch, very safe decision!Edit April 2023: Apprently they changed the avocado toast, it looks like a more common and delicious combination of ingredients. Also adding photos of the croque monsieur and blueberry gem salad that we had this time, they were all great.
Grace Gong: amazing, and especially cute with the outdoor/indoor seating. peach burrata app was our favorite. The pizzas were great too. I got the prosciutto one! Highly recommend 11/10Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Esther Moon: I really wanted to like this place as Sonsie has been on my Boston bucket list for quite a while. But I don't think I'll be coming back (maybe for Brunch, as it seems more popular?)We went as a party of 8 for dinner on a Friday, and we ordered the pizza, burger, croquettes, chicken, pasta dishes and they were all okay. The croquettes had the texture of glue and didn't go down well at all. Pizza and burger was very average, not sure why it's so expensive. However the service was the most frustrating part. It took forever for us to get drinks, and our main dishes came out even before our appetizers. One of our appetizers did not even make it out so we canceled it. Our server was very nice, but it just seems like there weren't any steps of service in place.Dessert was the best part! Cheesecake and bread pudding really hit the spot!
Shane Buddemeyer: I have been here several times and its my favorite place to come to in Boston, Ava is the best waitress very personable and always attentive. The mixologist Al I believe his name is, will make drinks not on the menu to your preference and they don't disappoint. Dawn the manager will do everything to make sure your time there an experience to remember. Love coming here!
Rachel Walsh: Hadn't stopped in since they renovated so decided to go for a drink on Saturday afternoon around 5pm. It was pretty busy but not crazy. We were able to get 2 seats at the bar. It took the bartender 11 MINUTES to take our drink order. There were 2 bartenders on, plus support staff. Not acceptable. It isn't like we were squeezing in trying to get someone's attention, we were seated at the bar. Need more training.
Anne Nealon-White: We had dinner at Sonsie last night and every aspect was fantastic. The atmosphere is beautiful with art covering the walls and upbeat music. I cannot say a single bad thing about the food and cocktails. Our steak and scallops were absolutely delicious and the oysters were fresh. Our waiter was attentive and engaging. It was an, overall, perfect dinner. Try the Smokeshow cocktail.
Winnie Zhang: Had higher expectations since this place is on Newbury, but everything was mid, honestly. The service was fine and it’s not like the food was nasty, but it just wasn’t seasoned enough. The oysters were fun to eat.
Kasey Lumbente: I had a wonderful time at sonsie!! The food was great, but the service wasimpeccable. I had a wonderful server named Nova who guided me through the menu and wine pairings with ease. The scallops were top notch and you have to make sure to leave room for dessert - their bread budding is fantastic. Thank you, Nova for the great experience and I can’t wait to come back.
Diana Karina Blandon Silva: Service it’s ok but 50 minutes when there where only 7 tables in use for a burger and a salad that is way too much
Sharmila Bhatia: Sonsie has a vibrant ambience But I had a terrible experience with service. I was disappointed that there were too few options for breakfast & only a sweet option for someone who cannot eat bacon (the person with me) I ordered a sausage patty muffin & mine was served without the patty. When I informed my server, he insisted the grilled tomato slice was the sausage! I had a couple of bites & then opened the muffin & called him & showed it to him again emphatically telling him there wasn’t any sausage in the muffin - that’s when he took it away & replaced it. He also got out tea order wrong & then just said there wasn’t any English breakfast tea - clearly he didn’t like being called out or asked questions. I’m visiting the city & my first time at Sonsie. I Don’t expect this service & then be forced to leave a gratuity for this experience.
