Trident Booksellers & Cafe: what do users think?
Freddy Guerrero: Excellent you will not be disappointed
Leah Barrows: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Krista K.: Bookstore with delicious food - what a gem! A great spot to get breakfast.
Krista and Chris Dion: Great affordable dining in a unique environment. I used to be a regular in the 90’s and was pleased to see Trident was still going strong. Healthy options as well as pure comfort food. Fabulous independent bookseller and gallery for local art. Trendy gift items and lots and lots to read with complementary wifi.
Tooba: Go-to place for a nice brunch. Plenty of seating, and is not too noisy even when the place is packed full. Service is very quick and friendly. Love the bookstore too!Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Eggs Benedict, Home Fries, Sweet Potato Fries …More
Sameeksha Tiwari: A must visit place in the very heart of the city. Loved it.
Winnie Briggs: This bookstore has been around for decades. It was a great bookstore when I was a teen and it continues to be one now! In fact, I’ve grown to appreciate it more now that I’m an adult! Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Besides books, they sell fun little “knick knacks”- perfect for gifts and stocking stuffers. Author events are held upstairs- I recently attended Caroline Kepnes’ author talk. This bookstore also has a cafe, serving hot food and drinks. 10/10. Without a doubt, one of Boston’s best independent bookstores.
Mike Fenn: Got a fun sticker book and delicious iced tea. There's even a second cafe upstairs!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Samir Abou Nassif: Great place for friends and food. The selection of books is amazingFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Daniel Zewde: One of the first bookstores I visited upon moving to Boston and it's one of the most charming places I've ever been. The food is good, service is friendly, and selection is GREAT.
Lauren Smit: I LOVE this place. Local bookstores are always a gem and this place had so many knickknacks and great independent books!Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sara Van Schaik: Quiet atmosphere on bustling Newbury Street for working, reading or meeting with someone. Range of drink and food options that are served quickly. Always love getting a seat at the counter!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Caitlin G: Got the caesar salad, but the dressing was definitely not caesar.
Jordan Mansfield: Great service, wonderful coffee, and lovely bookstore atmosphere. Get a window seat upstairs if you can!
Sereynita Sabarre-Altarejos: Nothing beats like a bookstore with a restaurant offering great food. Though it can be chaotic at times but it seems that people/customers don't seem to mind. However, if you want a real quiet place, you're better off somewhere else.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are great.Kid-friendliness: Lots of customers with kids, so it is kid friendly and they have a kids menu.
Robby Lender: It’s a nice bookstore and it’s got good food, but it’s really crowded and the books are kind of expensive. I don’t like ordering through an app.Vegetarian options: They exist, but you’ll have to figure them out yourself.Kid-friendliness: It’s very busy but there’s a kids menu. I’d take your child elsewhere if you can.Parking: There’s no parking, so if you can’t find a parking garage or street parking, good luck to you.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no visibly available elevator, but the place was so crowded that if you manage not to run over more than 8 people, you can probably find it.Dietary restrictions: Ordering is all done through an app, so you’re at the mercy of the app if your special request goes through.
Catherine Grace: I can't believe I only discovered this place in the past year. I love bookstores. This one is unique. You must stop here if you're coming through town. I went for the tarot time comedy show upstairs. I didn't end up ordering food but I enjoyed this fancy Chocolate espresso drink topped with whipped cream.
Stjepko Jančijev: Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Dan Rosen: A super cute, convenient, and speedy spot offering a variety of all-day breakfast and hearty lunch/dinner items, and stuffed inside of a delightfully crowded indie bookstore. We got the poutine and Cape Codder sandwich. The fries were decent but definitely not traditional, nor what I was actually hoping for. The fries were good enough but the mountain of shredded cheddar and stewed beef on-top (instead of duck fat gravy and cheese curds) definitely made this dish entirely one-note, falling flat almost immediately. Hot sauce helped, but the dish couldn’t really be saved. The sandwich was very tasty, with the challah bread offering a fluffy, chewy, sweet contrast to the deli turkey. However, the size of the sandwich definitely would warrant a denser sandwich; what I mean is, there wasn’t much turkey or bacon on there at all. The bread does most of the heavy lifting here, which is a shame because the teaspoon amount of cranberry mayo we tasted was excellent. They skimped out. The sandwich would also benefit from a second pickle on the plate, but I digress. It comes with chips. This is truthfully like a 3.5-3.8 star place but because of the environment and menu and service, I’ll round to 4. I’d definitely go back, but with my expectations just a bit lower than what the menu would suggest.

Amanda VanderBurg: Thanks Detective Violet Ness for an amazing night!! We had such a great time and you were an amazing host.
Deanna Patry: This was a fantastic night with a fantastic host!! Detective Ness brought out all the fun and kept us on our toes.
Anna Gardiner: Katie J did such a fabulous job I had to wonder if she was in fact an actor. Solving the murder was time well spent and Katie made it all that much more enjoyable. A high five from me!
Gregory Thomas: Detective Tom made sure that our group had a great time
Camille Tocco: great character description, interactive, really gets you thinking! fun team bonding in a virtual setting.
Justin Buehner: Nicole was great! Very fun experience.
Ashleigh Maisano: This was an absolute blast! Super easy to coordinate and our host/actor, Nicole, was EXTREMELY fun and professional.
Carla Johnson: We worked with Troy Murray and he was a ball! Enjoyed our Murder Mystery and we solved the murder!
J D: Did the Murder Mystery Party with my Company as a part of a Branch Manager Employee Appreciation gig. We were mystified and wow'd by the acting of out host's Detective Ness and Mo Punchin'(amanda and val) They were a pleasure to talk to and made the event fun and interactive. They were able to ask the right questions at the right time to encourage us to interact while at the same time letting US figure out the murder. Definitely would recommend as a Zoom Party(which we did) and i'm assuming Live would be just as much fun if not better. Would do this again for another Party.
Kyle Horn: This was a blast! Jade did an awesome job from the acting to the enthusiasm and putting up with my ridiculous group (plus some technical difficulties). 10/10 would recommend.
Jordan Hindiyeh: Renee Maria (Detective Ness) was stellar! We loved the Murder Mystery Dinner and would recommend her to anyone looking to have a KILLER time!
Anjelique Jackson: Renee Ness did a superb job with her character role and making the game fun & lively! Had a blast tonight with my team, the murder was definitely hard to solve lol :)
Esther R.: Renee Maria was an amazing detective host! So much fun! Thanks for your energy and humor :-)
John Mathews: Fun show with a detective that adapted quickly to our problems of missing people or saying things out of order and ran everything smoothly. Great job Renee Maria.
Nancy Brown-Holt: This Murder Mystery was fantastic! I want to use them for more events!
rebecca swayze: Thank you Hannah! I mean, Detective Ness. This was a great team outing and so much fun.
Stacie Ermis: Rebecca was a great host and the character descriptions were hilarious! Definitely recommend.
Jennifer Kolar: Troy Murray did a great job leading our team murder mystery event. Very engaging, organized, and kept us moving along. Troy was a great hosting detective.

George Howell Coffee: what do users think?
Guinea P.: Update:I had a problem with the loyalty program/Toast POS system before, but the manager Jake responded promptly and was very helpful. Amy explained the situation well, and helped me do an experiment to make sure the system works properly.Initial:It is one of my favorite cafes in Boston. I am particularly into their seasonal products like lavender or rose latte and coffee sangria.
Emily Shaw McLaughlin: This is where I take all my friends who want a really good pour over coffee.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Coffee Shop Parking space Difficult to find parking Parking options Parking is unavailable …More
Đan Nguyễn: I ordered a latte and a London fog-which is a tea latte. Both were great, but I definitely loved the latter. It was similar to a chai latte, but the spice was milder, and it had just a little bit of sweetness. And I love that they put the drink in nice porcelain cups, not disposable ones. Definitely will return and order it again!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Coffee Shop …More
Ariel robles alvarez: So good coffee
Tamás Vastag: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Nicolas Warren: Love the Huichol yarn paintings. The coffee is event better! George is a great example of ethical business practices in a global world. Great café for meetings, quick snacks, and exquisite coffee for the discerning palette.
Brian D: Currently my favorite specialty coffee roaster. This could be the pinnacle of coffee at this point in time. Beans are all fresh (usually 2-5 days old), lots of single origin small lot options and the ambiance and staff is awesome.Barismo and Broadsheet are two other good roasters. Barismo has an attitude problem. Broadsheet is good for beans but doesn’t offer pour overs for some reason.
Byron Skaggs: Incredible coffee options of all kinds and bean varieties for each: pour-over, latte (the lavender latte is very good), cappuccino, etc.Baked goods and breakfast sandwiches are also very good.On the expensive side and often crowded - even overflowing into the hotel lobby next door.
Laura Elena Rosado: The best service, excellent coffee quality. Out of an oat milk latte, the most skilled barista in the world made this beautiful Pegasus/unicorn 🤩
Oisin Mac Allister: Excellent staff and service only okay food and coffee. I ordered a flat white and it was bitter considering the price I paid was 5 dollars for it and that this place is highly rated online this is not what I expect. With all the fancy setup and cool things to look at yet the coffee is bitter its a bit disappointing. The service was great and lovely staff and my coffee arrived very quick. I also ordered a pain au chocolat or a chocolate croissant as they call it this was also only alright and was a bit disappointing considering the price of it. Overall a bit of a dissatisfied experience in the food side but excellent staff and service.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp after entrance doors for wheelchairs and very wide entrance with double doors. Might get a bit snug once after that if it's busy as there's a que that builds up.
Jea Kim: Great place to stop by for coffee and pastries in Downtown Boston.George Howell has been one of my go-to spots for coffee in the downtown area. Since this is their flagship location inside the Godfrey hotel, empty seats were rarely available, but they did have extra tables in the hotel lobby. I was usually able to grab one of the comfy couch seats without any issues. My favorite menu so far is their shaken cold brew. It's slightly sweet but goes well with their pastry selections. I've tried the orange danish and sticky bun, and both were excellent. Their sandwich selections also looked nice, and I'll definitely be back to try those for lunch.
Talip Tarhan: Coffees are delicious. Place is comfortable and well designed .
Karen: Coffee is perfect!!
Yasmin Albrezat: Flat white was the best that I had in years.
EskWIRED: If George Howell had tasted the espresso that was served to me, my Barista would have been fired immediately.
bruno korbar: One of my all time favourite coffee shop, with a slight change since 2021:It became massively overpriced (sadly, that became a reality for anything decent in the states), especially for non-coffee wares. What bothers me though is the fact that the quality went down a bit. Or rather, not quality, but consistency.Quality of the coffee in GHC is excellent, however in 4 visits that I've made in the last 8 days, with the same order (standard blend espresso and the single origin espresso which hasn't changed) had massively different experiences. Like: "yeah, I'd pay even more for this" to "I guess it's ok for specialty" experiences. And I get why it is that you can't have perfection all the time, but if your charging 6$ for an espresso, I'd want it to be excellent. And 2 out of 4 times, it wasn't.
Graham Greenhalgh: Undoubtedly my favorite coffee shop. The quality of the roast is truly exceptional and each drink is crafted with care, making every order superb. Their passion for coffee is clear.
Millie Obregon: Quality coffee. Tasty breakfast sandwiches. Lively ambiance. This is a must go to coffee shop for a wonderful experience and excellent food/tea/coffee. My friends are super picky with what they eat and drink and they approved of this place!I tried a London fog and loved it. One of my friends had an iced coffee and the other got a tea. Both were happy with their choices. The sandwiches were also delicious. I got my egg sandwich with arugula on sourdough bread and it turned out so tasty!
Eric Johnson: Yeah, this one is getting the coveted 5-Star designation!!!!As always, I scoured the three w's to find the coffee establishments to visit while in Boston. Let me just say, thank you to all those other enthusiasts out there who recommended George Howell!!!So the day I visited GW it was roughly 14 deg F and to say a piping hot cup of Joe was welcomed is an understatement, but the heat wasn't the impressive part! The succulent deliciousness of coffee made with skill and precision is what we're talking about! So much so, that I actually circled back after wandering Boston Common to order another drink and purchase a couple of their house roasted offerings. In summary -Knowledgeable baristas capable of hosting an exciting conversation regarding the productA plethora of delightful offerings from multiple regionsAnd an array of accessories and gear that are actually useful put GW on list of I WILL ABSOLUTELY FREAKING BE BACK!!!
James Hoder: Always consistently amazing. Arguably best coffee in Boston. Reviewing because of a particularly beautiful latte this today.
Katherine Anthony: You ever have a drink that's so good that you can't stop thinking about it?I had an iced mocha from here. It had actual chocolate in it and (unlike some other places that use real chocolate in iced mochas) they mixed it in well so it had the chocolate-y taste. It's expensive but tasted so good that I'm coming here again next week. Oops

Tim Neil: Fun spot to grab coffee and hide away from the hustle and bustle of Newbury street! Their recent expansion provides for many more tables. It’s wonderful!I was pleased to see they’re offering one free refill on drip coffee for those dining in. Love the space and people!
samantha s: Great coffee but small ish food variety. Good amount of seating but still gets busy
Andrew Huang: I ordered a matcha latte with whole milk, which I received quickly in about 2 minutes at lunchtime on a weekday. It was frothy, smooth, not bitter at all, and just mildly sweet from the milk. The only thing that could have made it better was if they did latte art; it surprised me and disappointed me that there wasn't any, but it isn't a dealbreaker since it's just aesthetics.I also enjoyed the Smoking Jamaican sandwich, which took about 8 minutes to make. It was flavorful with roasted red and yellow peppers and Havarti cheese. It was spicy from pickled jalapeños and sweet at the same time from the mango chutney. The multigrain bread was also nicely pressed to add a light crunch. There was also a small selection of macarons, but they were out of pistachio so I tried a chocolate macaron. The shell had a light crisp, and the filling was soft and moist, but it was much too sweet for me.It is a very crowded place, but there is extra space in the back with about a dozen tables and leather bench seating along the walls.  While dining in, I saw a cleaner wipe all the tables, so they take care to keep the place very clean. I had little to no cell reception in the back room and I didn't see any available public WiFi networks from the cafe.Tip for first-timers who may miss the menu: It is behind you when you face the baked goods or the registers. It is in front of you when you enter, but you're also navigating steps and crowds that I completely missed it and had to ask if there is a menu.
Brit: Cute place, great location. Even better if you can find a seat, or it's not 6:45 when the baristas are ready to attempt their escapes at 7.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Caffè Nero: what do users think?
Tarik: Vegetarian options: I like cafe Nero i get my chie tea every day nice atmosphere calm thank you for the good service 👍
Jorge Peña: Good place and good coffee, cozy atmosphere. I wold definitely go back.
Tiffianna T: I really enjoyed this Cafe! The vanilla Latte's were excellent and the mini canolli's were delicious! There were also sandwich and healthy choice options available. The only reason 4 stars is because I didn't care for their regular brewed coffee but overall, it was a great experience!
Joan Luya: This is the third time they ignored customers and now I am sure it is intentional. The baristas turn their back to the customers and keep laughing and flirting with each other pretending to be busy hoping the customers would just leave.Do you pay these employees to work like that?I waited for 10 minutes and they never turned to ask what I wanted, so I left. Why would anyone waste their life in such a place? They absolutely do this on purpose.I certainly will never come back. Dirty coffee shop, very rude baristas. Tatte, Thinking Cup, Panera Bread are all much better options with polite baristas and nice atmospheres.
Marie Tranvouez: Very bad for tea.Granted it is a coffe place but to put a tea bag in a paper cup with milk is not done.

Jeff Cabral: Nice atmosphere, great coffee, and decent muffins and pastry -perfect for stopping in the morning, or after a show.
Steven Gauck: When it comes to coffee shops, ambience is paramount (not a pun intended or reference for the venue across the street). A few things stood out: A diverse choice of seating, from community table to a comfortable living room environment in front of fireplace. We really liked the casual seating in front of the large picture windows. We also appreciate coffee served in ceramic mugs rather than paper cups. Last thing we noticed and appreciated: Not being prompted for a tip at check out.
Amy Reed: We really enjoyed popping in here for breakfast. We had vanilla latte, chocolate croissant and breakfast sandwich. Very nice and helpful service. We had a nice little table for two. Great people watching spot. Nice vibe.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Iced Latte …More
ada santi: Does this place have a manager? That one star is for other days, tonight was below zero. I went to get a coffee and the guy and lady behind the counter completely turned their back to me waiting for me to leave! Is that your customer service? I waited a little and watched the guy making coffee for other customers and even taking their cups to their tables and still refusing to take my order. So I left and went to Tatte for a nice cup of coffee and a super fresh pastry that you can never find in Nero after 11 am!I respect my money a lot and you won’t get a penny of it if you can’t practice basic social manners. The behavior of your baristas tonight was repulsive beyond belief.
Dan Drago: Quality pastries and sandwiches in a nice ambiance. Great hot and cold drinks selection. Definitely worth a visit.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
kassie jane: Excellent atmosphere, all staff are super friendly and hard-working. Come here almost daily to work virtually. Excellent peppermint mocha.
Charles Marc (Root): One of those feel-good coffee shops. Great spot to grab coffee as you work. There is WiFi and the staff are really nice... It has plenty of seating area . Go check it out and thank me later😀👍Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Geraldo Kimball: The aroma of fresh coffee beans fills the air as I enter this small but cozy shop. The baristas are working hard behind their smoothies and lattes, preparing them for customers who will undoubtedly love what they make!
Carlos Zeledon: Always a wonderful experience in this Nero
Rebekah ettedgui: My husband and I travelled to Boston this weekend from Canada. We stopped by this local coffee shop for breakfast. My 2 year old grabbed a chocolate milk and ran to to sit down with his dad. One of the barista’s started to shout “Hey sir siiir will you pay for that?” People turned their heads because she really made it sound like a robbery. I, who was presently on the line up, had to intervene and say know one was stealing. I was going to pay. I ended up spending $30 at this shop but it was NOT worth it. The girl (light skin with brown long hair in case you frequent this shop) didn’t even apologize for her unnecessary rudeness.
Melise Nguyen: Came here twice and staff too busy talking with a long line of customers who are waiting to order. On one occasion, I was completely Ignored with no line until an elderly couple came in behind me.

Thinking Cup: what do users think?
Glen Anderson: This is a great place, we visited marathon weekend so it was busy, was initially put off by the long line, however it moved very quickly and before we knew it we was sitting at a table with our food and drink. The coffee was excellent and the food delicious. We visited a few different coffee shops in Boston and this was by far the best and the staff were friendly and very efficient.
Jorge Estol: El mejor café ( "cortado" ) que he tomado en USA

Anne R: Great atmosphere, great coffee, food is ok. It's almost perfect.I was in the area hunting for a cozy cafe to sip and write, but sadly no wifi. Which can be a plus for some trying to avoid remote workers, but it's a place that begs for writers to congregate especially given its name. The owner is really engaged with guests and the staff is super friendly.Next time I'll grab my latte to go and hit the library down the way for my writing session.Wheelchair accessibility: Owner seems quick to accommodate guests with accessibility needs.
Parth Modi: The bahn mi and Greek sandwich were ice cold. Flavorless. Tofu was unseasoned. The pickled jalapeños were sweet? The earl grey tea was the best part. Loose leaf and the pot kept it warm.French hot chocolate is dark chocolate flavor. Not what I expected but could appeal to others.

Ido Simyoni: Needed banana bread and oatmeal just before Boston marathon and was happy to find it at Thinking Cup which is right by Boston Common. Their coffee roast is neat.
Andrew Marquis: It's been a staple for years, but it's so crowded and it's first come first serve. Young customers have no concern with sparsely taking over a large area even while families cannot find a place to sit. Ahmad A: This is the first time I try this branch. The coffee was OK. The surprise was the extremely expensive French hot chocolate. It was the most expensive drink I ever ordered in my life probably. The size of an espresso cup and it was I think five dollars. It tasted like melted chocolate. I think you can make it by buying a chocolate syrup or some. The vibe is very nice from inside.
david shaw: Excellent coffee and breakfast options. Great location opposite the park.
Alex C: Friendly staff, consistently great pourovers, and phenomenal breakfast sandwiches. Great spot!I really like the loyalty program, too.
Reid Chave: Nice, chill atmosphere and good food! I love their fruit tart and their lighting setup. For some reason, they stopped providing WiFi to customers (open or password-protected), which makes this not the best place to study (combined with the lack of outlets). This is disappointing for such an otherwise great coffee shop.
Krystina “Gibbs” Gibbons: Pretty good coffee shop in Boston. It's what you expect, pretty crowded and loud on a saturday morning. The cappuccino was okay, I was told by the server that they make authentic cappuccinos and cant add any sugar or flavors to them. I respect that but the foam was that of a latte, to be honest, and the espresso was a little weak. My wife ordered a hazelnut latte and im assuming they male their hazlenut syrup in house because there were chunks of nut throughout her latte. Dont get me wrong it tasted delicious! But crunchy.

Ogawa Coffee: what do users think?
Shivi D: The best matcha tea and avacado toast ive had! This is a small coffee shop but has a very asian vibe to it. The spring match tea had rose taste with dried rose petals. One of the customer clicked a picture of my matcha tea because she loved it so much. The avacado toast had a cipotle sauce that went so well with the toast. I absolutely loved this place it can get crowded but totally worth it!

Caitlin McPheron: Tasty bagel and coffee! Very chill, cozy vibe. We ordered the avocado and tomato bagel and the bacon and egg. Americano and an espresso. Bagel was a bit rubbery.
Sandra: Best coffee in Boston and their latte art is incredible!
Jess C: Went to try their seasonal menu item: Matcha Rose Latte. Very pretty and also a very good drink. I like it a lot more than their usual matcha latte. I need to go order it again before it is gone.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Grace Anderson: Such a nice spot and felt truly authentic to its Japanese roots. The atmosphere was cozy and modern. The coffee was great and the snacks were amazing.
Nataliia Ivanova: Very good coffee
Ido Simyoni: After visiting Ohana Coffee in Kyoto station (japan), a month ago, I decided to go there for breakfast after my morning race. The avocado toast was amazing (I only wish they added egg to it) . The Japanese mayo on it made it very special. I drank the smoke maple latte and it was very good. My partner had the vanilla lavender latte with bacon and cheese bagel and said both were very tasty. We will Definitely go back and highly recommended for breakfast or brunch while in Boston.
Robin Olden: Great latteFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Dietary restrictions accommodated Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free, Dairy free …More
Maya: Great environment and coffee! Highly recommended!
Kathy: Decent drinks. Came here on Easter Sunday and it was not busy. My husband waited 20 mins for drinks even though he was the only one in line. The tall employee with curly hair looks like he hates his job and it shows.
Seb T: Was on the go and stopped at this nice, small café. Pretty crowded of course and I really appreciated that the employee asked me if 10 minutes waiting was ok BEFORE taking my order. Since I was on a schedule she made me an Americano with shot of expresso and it was ready in a minute. Very good, STRONG, simple black coffee, no bitterness. Can’t wait to come back for a specialty coffee, they look tasty!
JH: I love the matcha here! Authentic! And not too sweet.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Anne Chao: I love their bagel ! It’s soft and the flavor is great! The matcha is also really great. I have been there twice, and I have tried their ice and hot matcha latte, and both of them are great!
