Brooke Baumgartner: After booking most of our vendors myself, I realized I would need assistance in planning the remaining details and coordinating everyone involved with my wedding. I reached out to Paula and was immediately excited to work with her! Both her and Lisa were warm, reassuring, and professional the entire lead up to the wedding - I felt that I was truly in good hands! They both had so many ideas on how to make our wedding personal and special and totally understood my design vision. I also appreciated how they always made sure we were getting our best value from our venue and vendors and spending our money where it counted. On the wedding day, both Paula and Lisa were there for us coordinating all of the vendors, setting up our gorgeous reception room, and solving last minute challenges. I am beyond thankful that I found the Marrero events team and do not know what I would have done without them! I would happily recommend Marrero events to anyone I know getting married in the Boston area!
John Barr: Paula and her team did superb job throughout the process. We decided to hold the event at our home. She walked us through the process upfront including the pros and cons. She presented experienced, professional vendors for my wife and daughter to select. She made multiple visits to our home, as needed, and throughout the process. She told us that it was her prime objective to make sure we did not have to worry about any detail on the day of the wedding. She was true to her word. She earned the ultimate seal of approval from my daughter, the bride, when at the end of the evening she remarked to me “best day of my life”. For a Dad, the best thing one can hear, and due in no small part, to the incredibly hard work of Paula and her team.

Tina Chen: We worked with Marrero Events for almost a year leading up to our wedding date. There are so many good things about our experience working with Paula and Alison to possibly be able to enumerate here. Ever since our initial consultation, Paula understood us and our personalities perfectly, and tailored their service to our needs. They handled all of the nitty gritty stuff that we didn't need to know, but gave us full creative control over all the big picture decisions. And in some cases when they could tell we were struggling to make decisions, they helped exactly the right amount to guide us to a decision we were happy about and confident in.On the day of, the event ran far more smoothly than we could even imagine possible. Due to rain, we unfortunately had to make the decision on the morning of to move the ceremony indoors. It was also unexpectedly cold for a late spring day in Boston, and all of our female guests in dresses would have been freezing, if not for the Marrero Events team driving around town on the morning of to buy thick blankets for all of our guests.Both in planning and in day-of coordination, Paula and Alison made our wedding day everything we wanted it to be and more. Kerry Patriarca: Booking Marrero Events for our wedding was hands down the best vendor decision we made in the entire wedding planning process.  I was originally convinced I didn’t need a wedding planner or day-of coordination, but as the final month of planning approached, I was overwhelmed managing all the details of planning a wedding from across the country.  Paula, Nathan, and Isabelle were life savers and truly amazing to work with.  From our very first conversation with Paula, we knew we had made the right decision as she immediately put us at ease.  From identifying a few final vendors who were perfect and in our budget, to vendor coordination, to all the planning and organization in the final weeks, to helping us manage thru the craziness on the day of, Paula and her team are consummate professionals and so good at what they do.On the actual day of our wedding, I don't know what we would have done without the Marrero Events team.  It was raining off and on, putting my dream outdoor wedding plans in jeopardy.  Nathan, who was onsite with us all day, was incredibly flexible and patient with me, keeping me calm while I was stressing over the changing forecast and working to ensure we put all the backup plans into motion.  We moved the wedding inside, and then when the rain stopped at the last minute and I had a change of heart, he helped me move the ceremony back outside.  We ended up having the most memorable and wonderful ceremony (albeit a little wet!) which was better than anything we could have imagined. Melanie Fleet: When we first started wedding planning in January 2020, I started looking into wedding planners and magically found Kasie at EFD. She was just so refreshing to talk to and so helpful in sharing thoughts and ideas, even before we decided to hire her. Then COVID hit and planning came to a halt, so we lost touch for a few months but would check in every so often and she was so happy to just chat and give advice. So when we decided to just go for it with our fall wedding, even though it was going to be a mini-one per all the guidelines, I knew I had to hire Kasie! Fortunately she had some great mini-packages that ended up being invaluable to us (ceremony & logistics planning) and I can't recommend her highly enough. She helped with SO many things I didn't even think of and was creative with ideas to make a pandemic wedding work. She even helped guide us on how to write our own vows and gave us tips for my brother who was our JOP. She was always just a phone call or text away (and still is!). Our wedding was perfect and couldn't have done it you Kasie, thank you!

Planning our Massachusetts wedding from Austin, TX was tricky but knowing that Kasie was going to be there on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly gave us such ease. Ryan Farrell: Working with Kasie and EFD creative was easily one of the best decisions my wife and I made through our wedding planning process. Kasie was there for us whenever we needed her and gave us great time lines for when we needed to get things done on our end. When we started to get a little lost through the planning, within a day Kasie was in our inbox getting us back on track. She was extremely thorough during the planning and come the wedding day she was on top of everything. Three days prior, the ceremony location needed to be changed and once we informed her on the new location, she took care of making sure everything was set up. When I was first introduced to Edna, I had to admit that I was probably going to be her most clueless bride ever. I didn't have a 'vision' of what my dream wedding would look like and I had no idea how to answer some of the basic questions most planners ask. Edna was the first planner I spoke with who didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. Charlene Chia: Hiring Edna to be our wedding planner was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. Having never planned a wedding before, we really did not know what we were getting ourselves into and it was extremely helpful and comforting to have an expert right by our side, guiding us through each step. For example, when we first met Edna, she graciously went through our budget with us. We had no idea how much things could cost! Edna quickly pulled us back into reality and worked with our budget to get us the best of what we could afford.Edna was also a huge time saver. We both work full time, and before we had hired her, it took us two months just to find a venue for our wedding. Within two weeks of hiring Edna, we had booked all of our major vendors, including the photographer, videographer, officiant, and band! There was never a time when we felt we could not reach her. She responds to all messages promptly, even if they are sent late at night. On the actual wedding day, Edna took charge of everything logistical. She was working hard, behind the scenes, to make sure everything looked gorgeous and ran smoothly.
Lacey Potter: What an amazing duo Edna and Kasie are. Both of them have an eye for detail but in two very different ways. Edna has an eye for design and can easily make your event vision come true. From designing your own logo to helping you with center piece ideas. Kasie on the other hand has an eye for logistical details. My wedding party is still raving about the day of schedule she created. Everyone knew where to be and when. If someone was missing Kasie was on it before I could notice. Both Edna and Kasie did an amazing job recommending vendors and coordinating all of them. I truly can’t thank them enough for making my wedding day one I’ll always remember!
Angie Steinhardt: Our experience working with Kasie Blanchette was absolutely fabulous! She has excellent organizational skills and a wonderful, warm personality. Despite the complex nature of our wedding, Kasie found a way to make it all come together so beautifully! I received numerous compliments from my guests on how well-planned the wedding was and many even mentioned that it was the best wedding they ever attended. The wedding involved a large robot in the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception; hair, makeup and nail services for the bride, maid of honor, and 4 bridesmaids as well as the addition of two special wedding games (a dance and trivia contest with prizes for each). This by all means was not easy to coordinate, but thanks to Kasie, I was able to include all these things which made my wedding so much fun and very memorable. She even helped to put up and also take down all the flowers in the church and reception site. Having her around throughout my wedding day really put my mind at ease as I could actually enjoy my wedding day without having to worry about the flowers, where the robot needs to be, or the shuttle service. Kasie would periodically check on me to determine whether or not I needed anything which was also very helpful. After the wedding, Kasie was a big help in cleaning up and making sure that I got all my gifts and wedding items returned. Thanks to her, we did not lose anything despite the high number of items we included in the wedding and the large number of gifts we received. I would highly recommend Kasie to any couple planning a wedding as she is sure to make your wedding day absolutely amazing!
Mary T: Can't say enough about the EFD team -- Edna and Kasie were absolutely terrific to work with! We had a complicated situation: a 175-guest wedding on the East Coast planned by a bride and groom on the West Coast with friends coming from all over the country and half the family flying in from The South. All in 8 weeks time. That is right, eight weeks. Edna was a superstar. She was always available for a phone call, a quick question or a big one, and she knew every vendor who's anybody in the Boston/Cape/New England area. I'm very particular, and Edna immediately read my style and steered me in the direction of the vendors who best suited it. We had an L.A. vibe with a New Orleans flair in a Cape Cod setting. She made the whole weekend into a three-day party. She and Kasie attended my floral sessions with me on my very short trips to Boston from LA, and attended my tasting at the venue on Cape Cod. When we were down to the wire on invitations, her strong relationship with that vendor enabled me to get many orders in at the last minute and with very stylish input. She never stepped on my toes -- just designed what she envisioned I'd love. She was incredible with the rentals, which get complicated: tablecloths, chairs, silverware, you name it. She even asked if we could borrow a small sample of the wares we'd picked, so we could match our "look" to the florals and the venue. The vendor said no one had ever asked that before and was happy to let us borrow samples! It's this sort of personal touch that I could not have planned my wedding without. Kasie was amazing on the ground on the day of. My mom and sister noticed how she held everything together and made it all look so easy. I now realize that's a huge part of the Wedding Planner's job. I can't say enough about this group. I'd do another event with them in a heartbeat. I was sad when it all ended, because I felt like we were all working for the same company. Then I realized I was just another bride!

Catherine Callaway: I cannot recommend Luba’s services HIGHLY enough!! While my fiance (now husband!) and I were up to our ears in work in PhD and MD programs, Luba somehow pulled off a truly MAGICAL wedding, beyond anything we could have ever dreamed.Luba is incredibly organized, kind, flexible, whip-smart (she has a PhD in chemistry and speaks at least 3 languages fluently!!) and a truly fascinating person. Her passion for Italy and especially the Tuscan region is one of the things that drew me to her when I was interviewing other planners.Besides wanting my wedding to be in Italy where my husband and I met, I did not have a vision or a clue of how to plan a wedding when I first came to Luba (you might call me a rare “Type-B” bride). She thoughtfully, gently, and expertly guided me through each decision point – date, venue, photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, ceremony details, extra events, wedding website, etc. – making suggestions and providing sage advice, and at the same time helping me clarify in my head what I cared about most for the wedding. She even helped my family and I plan a trip to Italy a few months before the wedding (we are from the U.S.) and helped coordinate a tasting with the caterer, make-up and hair trial, a visit to the venue, and tours of nearby villas and borgos to recommend for guests. I was thrilled with all the vendors she recommended – especially my make-up artist, she is a genius!!NO detail is too small for Luba. She got me thinking about pieces of the wedding weekend that I never would have considered on my own, and recommended some amazing Italian traditions to incorporate (e.g., the cake show!). She taught me the importance of having events take place in different areas of the venue so that when guests transition (ceremony – cocktail hour – dinner – reception) they get some new surprises and feel the wedding magic all over again. She helped create the “flow” of my ceremony (we got so many compliments from guests on this) and made creative use of the natural beauty of our venue (Borgo Stomennano is absolutely magnificent) to save some $$ with flowers. She also provided the much-needed perspective throughout of which details really tend to matter, and which details we could let go.Luba was always easy to reach, even when she was in Italy or traveling elsewhere I could expect an email back within 24 hrs. She was largely in Boston while we were planning our wedding which made hopping on Zoom calls really easy. And last, but certainly not least, Luba is the FIRST to advocate for you sticking to your budget. We made a few decisions near the end that we knew were going to put us a little over (the late night pizza from our fabulous caterer was just TOO tempting) and Luba gave us quite a bit of (loving) pushback before making it happen. Elena Kontorovich: A week ago on a beautiful September Saturday of the infamous year 2020, our daughter become a Bat Mitzvah.She was the first one in the family to do so and we started thinking about this day a long time ago.However, it was not planning per say until we found Primavera Dreams.Luba redirected our nervousness and anxiety and transformed our panic thinking into a rational, structured multi-stage process of actual preparation. First, she calmed the proud parents. Then, she worked with us to create a budget, she spent a lot of time showing us function halls, she worked wonderfully with our Temple, she found us a talented DJ/MC, outstanding caterer, great photographer and videographer, and a balloon architect. She even recommended a dress shop for us, where we later bought the dress, the shoes, and earrings for the Bat Mitzvah girl in one short visit.She was always very professional at every step: organized, punctual, fast, prepared, attentive to details and tolerant towards our lack of experience.Here, it is time to say, that originally the Bat Mitzvah service and celebration was scheduled to be held in May 2020.We were ready to send the invitations, when Massachusetts got hit by Coronavirus in the beginning of March. Those were several hard weeks for all of us. And on top of everything else we had to quickly adjust our expectations and work fast on plans B, C, and D for the Bat Mitzvah.Once again Luba was on top of her game. She was there for us with the emotional support and with the proactive planning.Cutting the long story short… our Temple, Luba and all the vendors recommended by Luba were very flexible, accommodating, creative and understanding along the way. Six months after the announcement of the quarantine in MA, our daughter had a beautiful, meaningful Bat Mitzvah service outside the synagogue, broadcasted live via Zoom. While our family enjoyed the after-party Zoom call with our daughter’s virtual guests from around the world, Luba met the caterers in our house, directed all the work and met us there with her calming and comforting smile.We had a wonderful catered and serviced brunch in our backyard, which was transformed by our balloon artist into a beautiful avatar-inspired space under the sky. The catering company performed above expectations: they set up, served, cleared, and sanitized between the waves of guests. Luba was there on the site helping as well.All three generation of our family were on site enjoying the brunch and thanks to Luba and Primavera Dreams, we all felt like the most valuable guests there. Such a rare and cherished feeling, I have to say.We still owe our daughter and ourselves a party to celebrate her achievement and a family milestone. We hope to throw it in a year or two. We will pick up our planning with Luba where we left it. Dina Iskhakova: I just noticed that Primavera Dreams is celebrating its anniversary. By coincidence, we are spending some quality time at home with the family and got to reminiscing.In July of last year, though it seems decades ago, Luba has organized my husband’s, Alex, round-number birthday celebration in Italy.To say that it was impeccable is to say nothing about it. By Primavera’s measures, it was not a large celebration - around sixty guests and two full days of festivities. But for us, when we started the preparation it seemed absolutely daunting.How do you get together people from half a dozen countries all over the world? Many of them have never met each other. How do you make sure they enjoy their time together? And, by the way, the budget we had was (very) far from unlimited.Well, looking back it still seems amazing that Luba was able to get it all together and made it look simple in the process. Even during the celebration itself every minute felt like fun times - and none (except for sudden onslaught of mosquitos during an open-air cocktail hour - but the spray did help) felt like fighting emergencies or straining to get things right.Of course the location - Lago Maggiore in Italy - is gorgeous and inviting to begin with. But there are lots of choices and actions that could’ve gone wrong. Luba led us every step of the way - from choosing the right venue among many highly variable options to play-by-play entertainment and through every detail including the choice of flowers and the right photographer.Every time I think back on the festivities I smile and the quarantine seems just a little less painful when we reminisce.We hope - no we are sure - that there will be another family celebration in Italy and Primavera Dreams will be there for us to make it memorable and enjoyable.Thank you Luba!
Jillian Hope: As soon as we discovered Primavera Dreams, we knew our dream of getting married in Florence could be a reality. Being from the U.S., we faced some skepticism from our families when we first started talking about a destination wedding in Italy but fast forward 18 months and now they can't stop talking about how it was the most epic family vacation / wedding that they had ever been to! We couldn’t have done it without Luba. She truly became like a third mom to us (in the best way possible). She is all about creating an experience, not just for the wedding but for the entirety of the planning process. She even came on our venue hunting trip with us one year before the wedding date. I was VERY much a type-A bride and Luba was always quick to respond to my many emails, no matter what I threw at her. We ended up having more guests RSVP ‘yes’ than we initially expected and our wedding of 80 quickly grew to 110 but Luba wasn’t phased by any of the changes and thankfully had her associate, Dina, to help as a second hand. When it came time for the wedding weekend, I was actually able to relax and truly enjoy the happiest couple of days while Luba and Dina took care of EVERYTHING (coordinating transportation with bus drivers, putting down placecards, favors - to name a few of the 1000 things they did). Caroline Eisenmann: Whim is absolutely incredible, and was instrumental in pulling off a deeply beautiful, joyful, and easy wedding day for us. We decided to start working with Whim in September 2021, with hopes of getting married in Fall 2022. We quickly learned just how much of a crunch there was on venues and vendors— but that’s where Natalie’s tremendous connections through the industry came in. She quickly moved on a number of venues and vendors, sketching out different plans for us, but it was because of her fantastic working relationship with the events team at our dream venue (The Mount) that we ultimately scooped up a slot there when they had a cancellation.Natalie’s professionalism, know how, and smarts were so important all through the process—by and large we almost always went with her vendor recommendations, though she was great about presenting us with and pricing out a range of options. Down to a one, each vendor she recommended blew it out of the water: photography, makeup, band, etc. In addition to their incredible services day of, each vendor was absolutely wonderful to work with, just lovely and good natured, people that genuinely added to the day.And Natalie herself is that way, too: we knew we liked her from the first day we met her on a Zoom, but came to realize over the course of a year of working together both just how fun and how much of a force of nature she really was. (I’m going to miss talking to her routinely!) My mother and I were the most involved in planning the wedding and we both are, shall I say, not weak personalities— but Natalie was fantastic with working with both of us, and made the whole process if not stress free (how could planning a wedding be stress free?), as stress-light as possible, and also highly efficient and enjoyable.And the entire team was fantastic, too. Moira is truly a genius with florals— I had so many guests comment on how stunning they were— but the entire design of the wedding was truly breathtaking, and really felt true to us. Moira and Natalie were really responsive in talking with us and figuring out what we wanted.We felt how lucky we were to work with Whim the entire way through the process, but maybe nowhere as much as day of, when the whole team sprang into action. Sarah St. Clair: Nobody really talks about the wedding planning process or what it entails. We know by the end we will have this amazing day--but that day only lasts 24 hours. Most of the wedding process is in the planning and it is SO important to have a great planning team. Jenna Swensen: My husband and I first started working with Whim in the fall of 2019 after we had chosen a venue and decided that we needed a planner. From day one, we knew we had made the right choice. Our first time meeting the team in person was at a walk through at our venue, and they knew all of the right questions to ask.From day one, we felt as though they all really understood what our vision was and felt super confident and comfortable with the way that things would be executed.When COVID came along (yay!) we were cautiously optimistic that our wedding (originally scheduled for 12/5/2020) would be good to go, as were Natalie and her team. Audrey Reny: My daughter, the bride, is a surgeon with a crazy busy schedule, so I had the great fortune of working very closely with Natalie and her extraordinary team at Whim Events. We hold the unique distinction of being their longest running clients as we started planning over a year before COVID and then pushed the date back three times...so we got to know each other very well! In fact now that it is over, we are all missing the "whimen" and continue to have check ins just to say hello because we formed such a strong friendship and relationship! We definitely could not have navigated these uncertain times without Natalie's expertise, patience, attention to detail and sense of humor. Although we appreciated all the work that went into rebooking the event 3 times, what we reflect on with the most joy is the wedding weekend that they created with us. My daughter and her groom, and all of our friends and family, loved every single aspect of every single event! We heard over and over that it was the best wedding weekend they had ever been to because it felt so personal, warm and reflected the mutual love and respect our families have for each other! Starting with the Welcome Party, Natalie came up with special music and lush jewel toned linens and florals that set the warm welcoming vibe we wanted to kick things off. On the wedding day, her Brideside colleague, was organized, calm and so easy to be with even though we had just met her for the first time that morning. And the wedding ceremony and reception were ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, MAGICAL, LOVING, we literally loved every single detail! Natalie and her team incorporated all the personal touches that my daughter had hoped for with a creative, yet elegant and classic flair. The choices for the florals, the linens, the chairs, the chuppah, the lighting all came together to create the most spectacular timeless atmosphere. It felt like we had all snuck into a "secret garden at midnight" with sparkling lights, glowing candles, incredible white and gray roses and lush overhead canopies with greenery that made it feel cozy and so special to be part of the bride and groom's wedding celebration. We did not want the magic of the evening to end. And the band....they were the BEST. Everyone danced non stop for the entire night so thank goodness Natalie had us order "flats" for the women to change into on the dance floor! The brunch on Sunday was the final hurrah and everyone lingered over egg sandwiches until the last moment. Every vendor was incredible. The hair and make up teams made us all feel so glamorous and beautiful. The videographers and photographers captured it all with perfection and we will cherish the memories they recorded over and watch them over and over in the years ahead. We loved working with Natalie and her team and words can not express how highly we recommend them. We will definitely work with them again when daughter number 2 gets engaged!

Lisa Andrews: I have stressed to many of my friends that one of the most important wedding decisions you make is choosing the wedding planner. I cannot recommend Whim Events and the team of Natalie, Giovanna and Moira enough!!! I would give them 10 stars!! They helped us plan a large wedding for my daughter over the course of two years- including a Covid postponement. When we realized that we needed to postpone the wedding, Natalie took care of every singe detail of the rescheduling which was a life saver during such a stressful time. The whole team worked closely with my daughter to bring her dream wedding to life. I personally am not a party planning type and they allowed me to literally show up and have the best time of my life without worrying about a single detail. While I thought I would enjoy our wedding, it exceeded my expectations by a mile. They created a beautiful atmosphere where every little detail was thought out. On the day of there was a detailed time line so everyone knew where to be and if I had a question there was always someone right there to answer it. When unexpected rain showers appeared right before our outdoor ceremony, Natalie handled everything and kept everyone calm and relaxed. I have had many friends who have recently held weddings for their children and none of them have LOVED their wedding planner as much as we have. Each and every vendor they found for us was absolutely amazing. The Whim team allowed our family to truly enjoy the wedding and not worry or stress about anything. Colleen Chung: I cannot overstate how AMAZING Whim was through the entire planning experience and their execution of our vision was beyond my wildest hopes and dreams!! I really debated having a planner and in retrospect I can’t even imagine not having the Whim team. From the start, Natalie and the team were incredibly attentive and genuinely wanted to understand who we were and what we wanted out of the wedding. They presented multiple sketches or design boards to us with ideas and to make sure we were always on the same page. They were great at taking my edits whenever I had changes or at showing me as many options for a certain aspect as I wanted. They are super detail oriented, always on time, always great to work with and are A+ executors!The whole Whim experience was terrific but on the day of, they were truly unbelievable - things were seamless. No detail went unreviewed. I am a worrier, and on that day, because of Whim, I worried about nothing. Everything was STUNNING! I got SO many compliments from guests about Whim’s hospitality. Whim’s staff on the day of was professional, friendly, and were there to help guests with any question or request. Not to mention they provided a concierge for me on the day of to make sure I was all set with anything I needed. They truly made the day perfect!I’ll also mention that they are well connected with other vendors and even managed to get us a cake provider I found last minute on Instagram that was otherwise booked. Every vendor that worked with them had nothing but good things to say and I can understand why.Long story short, do yourself a favor and hire Natalie and the team at Whim. Natalie, Moira, Giovanna, and the rest of the team are an absolute pleasure to work with and definitely the best in the business. From start to finish, they work tirelessly to make your day absolute perfection. Our day was truly beyond anything we could have imagined. We unfortunately had to postpone our first celebration due to Covid, which seemed like it would be a disaster, but somehow Natalie managed to get ALL of our vendors moved to a new date within a matter of a few days. Natalie is connected to basically everyone in the industry as well which made decisions around postponing, moving things outdoors etc super easy. She even managed to help us save a LOT of money by splitting a bunch of costs with another couple getting married at our venue because she knew the planner working on that wedding. They also do all florals in house (by the amazing Moira) which is great because it felt like everything was truly integrated in the design process. We were also able to go to the floral market with Moira to get an idea of what flowers we liked which was such a unique and personal experience.Leading up to the wedding we were both totally relaxed as we knew everything was being handled (including things we never would have known to think about). The day of the wedding we were able to actually be PRESENT and enjoy the celebrations which is so rare. So many of our guests commented on all of the little touches, and could not get over how beautiful everything was thanks to the Whim team. Natalie even helped make sure my grandparents had a golf cart to take them to the ceremony space, and made sure there was a bus ready to take them back to the hotel earlier in the night. It was something that seemed small but something that was huge to my family. That is truly the essence of Natalie & her team. They helped make our day so incredibly special. We already miss our meetings with them because they are truly wonderful people. We will remember them and everything they did for us for years to come. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!!

Hiring them was the best possible decision we could have made!UPDATE on our Brideside coordinator, Katherine:When gearing up for our wedding, the ladies of WHIM were so organized and on top of things, we didn’t think we would need any additional help. At the last minute, we decided to hire Katherine, part of WHIM’s Brideside service. This was absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day, and I would highly recommend her to any and all couples, no matter the size of your wedding. Katherine coordinated breakfast and lunch orders for the bridal party, coordinated makeup & hair, ran out for last minute necessities (and champagne!), helped stock our trolley, helped with my grandmother, made sure things were running smoothly and on time, and best of all was the most kind, calming presence. My mom still talks about how much easier life would be with a Katherine around all the time! Hire Katherine if you want a smooth, stress free wedding day- I was able to focus solely on walking down the aisle, which was the best gift I could ask for!
Megan LaMarca: The Whim team has consistently blown us away. We hired them without hesitation as soon as we met with them because we could tell they genuinely cared about getting to know us and our dreams for our wedding. No matter the crazy emails or requests, they have always been on top of everything and we have known our special day was in the best hands. That was especially true when COVID hit. We knew no matter what happened, they had our backs. Rescheduling every vendor was a breeze thanks to Natalie and the team, and she stayed positive, but was realistic about expectations as challenging decisions had to be made. Natalie helped us secure a new wedding date for 2021, then, around a month and a half before our original wedding date, we let her know we still wanted to have a small ceremony and get married (why wait!). She and the team jumped into action to plan an intimate 12-person wedding and dinner party in our backyard, working with us on our new budget. We trusted them to execute on a smaller version of the vision we had worked for over a year to finalize, and they surprised us by transforming our yard into a dreamscape of disco balls, lounge furniture and florals. We didn't have to worry about any of the details and it was the perfect day, with so many of the fun elements incorporated that we had talked about earlier in the planning process. It was their first minimony, and they were fabulous, never missing a beat - a true testament to their expertise and the consideration they have with their couples and every detail, ensuring every element of the day has meaning and love wrapped into it. As we begin to consider what a "sequel wedding" may look like for next year, we have no doubt that Moira will design stunning florals (again), Giovanna will execute an effortless and timeless style and design (again), and Natalie will produce another perfect day for us and our loved ones to cherish forever. No matter what you're thinking for your day, you won't regret getting in touch with these wonderful women and trusting them to make the day more beautiful than your wildest dreams and your craziest Pinterest boards. Joe also sets up monthly meetings to keep us up to date and on track with the planning process.Before I conclude, I also have to mention how absolutely helpful Joe was during Covid. Like so many couples, we had to reschedule our planned wedding in 2020 due to the pandemic. It was incredibly stressful and disheartening experience, but Joe really took a huge burden off of us when he reached out to all our vendors and ensured we were able to reschedule without hassle. That alone was worth every penny we paid.Joe is amiable, professional, organized and gave us great wedding advice! His assistance truly lifted such a burden off of my (now) husband and my plate during the hectic and stressful wedding planning process. Kara Kulick: Hiring Mandy on as my wedding planner was legitimately the worst, most costly decision I have made in my entire life. The following account is my experience with Hummingbird Bridal.The actual day of my wedding there were various issues that went wrong. Mandy didn't memorize the items of my menu, which resulted in food being wrongly served at different parts of the night and also one of my two specialty cocktails not being made at all initially. At the end of the night, none of my to-go food was packaged as was previously requested. My $600 wedding cake was thrown into the fridge and my kitchen was left a mess. While this is more so the fault of the catering company, I certainly feel there was a lack of supervision with Mandy as my event coordinator. Gigantic, open bags of trash were left scattered across my property (in the middle of the woods where animals could have easily torn things apart). This is just a few of the many issues we encountered.Regarding my budget- what was most frustrating is that all along the way I sent constant reminders: "as long as it's within my budget" and "my budget should be okay with this, correct?" Not once did Mandy indicate 1) I would go over my budget at all 2) how much I would go over. Even when I spoke with Mandy after the wedding and confronted her about the budget overage, she continued to claim that every decision was "in budget". The week leading up to the wedding I was slammed with invoice after invoice. At this point it was already too late to make any sort of changes. Mandy sent me an email the night before my wedding telling me there was an extra $250 charge from my catering company for ice since it will be a hot day and an extra fryer. At this point my wedding menu has been finalized for over a month now and, further, it is expected to be 80 degrees on my wedding day (a very pleasant day for July). Why am I receiving a charge like this less than 24 hours before my wedding? I told her I did not agree with the charge. The next day, Mandy approached my mom with a $100 receipt for ice and told her it needed to be paid. Extremely frustrating.Altogether, at the end of this whole experience, what I regret the most was how much I trusted Mandy. I trusted her with years of saved money and with the most special day of my young adult life. After reading the positive reviews I assured myself, "it looks like she's great at what she does! Other people mentioned having a budget very similar to mine. Surely I will not be some random fluke that ends up having a negative experience." But I was. And in a very major way. Mandy did not consider my budget at all evidenced by the $10K I went over (in an email she claimed I went over by a little more than only $8K..that is not the case as I am the one reviewing and paying my CC bill).Mandy only cares about working with her pool of vendors and not about her client's budget. In fact, when I brought up to Mandy that I was considering working with a family friend's florist company, Mandy replied about her florist: "I will note that Julie's pricing is the most reasonable of the florists that I work with (in terms of highest quality and lowest cost.)" I ended up choosing my family friend and my flowers were STUNNING and over $1,000 less than what Mandy's florist quoted me at.Mandy did not branch out to find vendors that were in my budget and her lack of oversight the day of my wedding resulted in deep regret hiring her. Take your $6,000 to someone that actually cares about their clients!

One that everyone is still raving about months later. I had so many design ideas and Julie was there to help execute them to a tee! She went above and beyond by having her husband customize a beer & champagne wall for my cocktail hour and a gorgeous greenery wall for my reception/photobooth space! Months leading up to my wedding Julie was the point person for all vendors and I can’t stress how helpful it was! I’m the biggest stress case and she was able to set my mind at ease. Days leading up to my wedding, Julie had a slight back injury and it DID NOT stop her from running a smooth rehearsal and wedding. I swear she’s Wonder Woman! If anything did happen behind the scenes I wouldn’t even know because she takes charge and makes sure you can be present for your special day. Honestly, what planner extends your cocktail hour for you because you’re running late??? Julie….Hire her, you won’t regret it!

We booked her for the partial planning package, and even though she officially started 8 weeks before the wedding, she sent over some questionnaires for us to fill out ahead of time that were immensely helpful, as they prepared information for our other vendors as well. Julie was exactly what we needed. She reminded us of little details we might need, and when we might need them. She organized all of our day-of items. She created a custom timeline for us and sent to all of our vendors, so I didn't have to coordinate with those other vendors, which was easily one of the best things she did for us. We thought she was an excellent designer. She did a beautiful job with our mood board and had so many fun design ideas that we would never have thought of ourselves. She was indispensable in helping pick our table design and florals. She has loads of experience and design sense. It shows.II. The Final StretchJulie really shined down the stretch. When vendors were being difficult she just handled them. She worked with us and all our vendors to create the perfect timeline so that everything would go exactly according to plan (it did). She coordinated with everyone. She made what could have been a stressful time a lot of funIII. The Wedding DayThe wedding day went perfectly, in large part due to Julie. She coordinated everything and did all the behind the scenes work so our day was stress free and perfect. Because of Julie’s hard work there were no surprises. There was nothing to stress about.

The best way to characterize her role would be to call her the conductor of our wedding. She guided us through the 18+ month process with expertise and professionalism, but also with creativity, flexibility and warmth.As is likely true for most people planning their weddings, a lot of “life stuff” happened in the months between booking venue and the big day. Julie helped us prioritize urgent vs non-urgent tasks and allowed us to direct our energy towards only the most critical things when it was in short supply. When our lives slowed down, she was there to chat with us for hours about our vision and always had great ideas on how to bring it to life.I addition to her personal skills, Julie’s relationships with other vendors were critical for us. She found our DJ, photographer and florist (among other vendors), all of whom were incredibly talented and within our budget. I don't think that it would be a stretch to say that she assembled a Dream Team. This is not something that we thought a lot about when starting to plan, but by the wedding day it was clearly a very critical component for success.We should say that our wedding was literally perfect in every way, in large part because Julie orchestrated the event with grace and skill. By the end of the process, she felt more like a friend than a vendor. Were we to do it all again, Julie would be our first call. We feel so lucky to have found her and would recommend her to every couple looking for a planner.

Mary Kennedy: When we first booked our wedding venue and learned it came with an on-site event coordinator, we thought we wouldn't need to hire a separate planner. Then the reality of wedding planning hit us - it's a lot of sending emails, managing vendor communications, and strategic timeline building. None of this was work our on-site coordinator was contracted to help with, and it started to become overwhelming, especially as we planned our wedding from out-of-state and dealing with covid.The best decision we made was to book Julie of Something Bleu to essentially 'project manage' the two months leading up to our wedding and be there to support us on the day-of. Knowing she was there to answer questions, create our schedule, and guide us through the decision making process took so much pressure off the final months leading up to the big day. And on the day-of, she was the one who made every detail, big and small, run smoothly. It really was thanks to Julie that my fiancé, our families and I were able to relax and enjoy the day. All the networking in the world won’t give you what Something Bleu will: a well-connected, experienced professional devoted to making sure your daughter’s wedding runs smoothly so your family can focus on enjoying the day.Julie was our go-to resource for vendor recommendations, communication, and follow-up questions. She coordinated with everyone at the church and the reception, and made sure the wedding party, guests, and vendors knew where they needed to be throughout the day. When there were challenges - and every wedding seems to have them! - vendors would contact Julie, who would then contact us with a solution already worked out. Her day-of assistance was critical to the success of the day. My husband and I can honestly say it was one of the best days of our lives, and we owe so much of the credit to Something Bleu!

We decided to ask for her “day of” services with about 2 months left until our wedding due to gradually increasing the amount of items and set up for the big day. Since our first consultation, I knew Julie was the right match for us as she was so kind and up front with the services she offered. As the big day drew nearer, more detailed decorations were added and she brought in her assistant Jessica who was amazing on the big day with her skills of setting up and attentiveness to us as a couple. They made sure we were aware of all the little changes throughout the day (including the change in timeline due to transportation being late) and managed to allow the event to go off without a hitch. I highly recommend Julie if you need any type of coordinator, whether a full planner of day of coordinator!

Julie handled all of the issues with the designated individuals to ensure that our day was seamless and stress free. I didn’t know about anything until after. After the ceremony, she was a dream, always there when I needed water, a drink, to find someone, to follow up on something, or even to sew back on my bustle. While a lot of amazing vendors went into planning the day, it was Julie who brought it all together and delivered us the most perfect day. Seriously, you need her. You will not be disappointed with the experience and it will ensure that you have the most perfect day like I did.

Maddie Maddern: I literally had dreams about getting married here one day, and I got to do just that on August 13, 2022. This is the most stunning wedding venue in the entire city, nobody can convince me otherwise. It looks gorgeous in photos, but you literally can't imagine how breathtaking it is in person.If the views aren't enough, their events team is next level (particularly Amber). Now bear with me through this part, because there's a reason we're still giving State Room 5 stars (spoiler alert, it's our amazing wedding goddess Amber).We had a bit of a rocky start after we signed the contract (nothing to do with Amber). We signed the contract in May and then backed off for a bit since our wedding was over a year away. Around October, we were speaking with our florist, and he asked if we knew Carolyn (our former wedding specialist) had left. We didn't and nobody from the venue ever reached out to let us know. I immediately emailed both our contacts there and both people whose emails I had were disconnected and had no email forwarding set up or any message directing me to another contact. I called the venue 3 or 4 times before finally speaking with someone and they let me know both people had left and they'd let me know when we had someone new. I was now trying to plan a wedding (at a not-so-inexpensive venue) with no wedding coordinator.Cue Amber! A literal angel who just made every wedding dream come true. This really should be a 4-star review, but Amber is so insanely amazing that she leaves me no choice but to make this 5 stars because anything less wouldn't be a fair testament to her. I am the most Type A a person can be and Amber answered every email, call, and panicked carrier pigeon I sent her way. She went above and beyond when we had issues with other vendors or needed last-minute changes that probably weren't even on her to help with.100% would recommend booking the State Room for your wedding (even despite the challenges) because the staff really is in another league.Thank you for everything, Amber!!
Essentially Erynne: This venue is just absolute perfection & our coordinator Amber was a dream come true. She went above & beyond to make our day amazing; when things weren’t done to her standards or what she thinks I would want, she worked quickly to fix them, never needing to let me know there was even an issue to begin with so I could just focus on the day. Our food was AMAZING, the bar staff was fantastic, & the space was to die for. We will never be able to thank Amber or State Room/Longwood Venues for helping to make our day so memorable!
Kaye Homam: The venue is beautiful and the service is fantastic. Parking is decently priced and the 2 floor venue works really well. The views are absolutely gorgeous. Day and night. The food was a little bland, but I am told that was because of the planner's food options.

Additionally, once we started contracting with them, they made it all so easy! They even helped us source special Prosecco for our event. They were also extremely accommodating when we decided to postpone from February 2021 to 2022. We had Amber assisting us leading up to the event and throughout our wedding day. She was responsive, helpful, and truly an expert in her field. We were in great hands with Amber on our special day and everything went off without a hitch! We are so grateful to the State Room and their staff for making our wedding day perfect.

I'm a Boston wedding photographer, and I have the insider view on what weddings are like. The team here is top notch. They are professional, kind, and courteous. You won't go wrong with a wedding here. :)The coolest thing about it are of course, those panoramic views from up high while still being able to be in downtown city life! It’s remarkable what they offer here- so much detail and care has been put into this space that you can really see how much thought went into creating such an incredible place for your big day or special event.
