The eye doctor didn’t test for my astigmatisms either which I told them I knew I had & said I could “choose” between two different prescriptions to see which one worked for me. Finally, I asked them to send me my prescription & I never received it.

Numa Perez: Optometrist was not particularly polite, she was short and to the point, affect was entirely flat. She may in fact have missed a flip of the lens during my exam (she asked 1 or 2, then again flipped to 1, I said 2, but I don't believe she actually flipped back to 2 before proceeding). She also advanced the axis measurements in increments of 5, which may not matter but I've always had non-multiple of 5s numbers in the past, and this time I ended up with 175 and 5 degrees (previously 173 and 180). Don't get me wrong, I'm a general surgeon myself and know what it's like to work in the healthcare field. I don't expect airline level customer service at an optometrist appointment. But a "hi, how are you doing today?" gets you a long way when it comes to patient rapport, especially when there were no other patients waiting. My wife's optometrist is much more personal and exact with his exams, so I'll be going there from now on.
Jeffry Flores: When I arrived at location, Dr.Doug was not there even though I received text messages that he would see me on the day of my appointment.I was examined by tech Julia which was in a rush and did not even seem to pay any attention to my eye condition but just care about leaving early. I would not recommend this location.

They just handed me a clip board told me to fill it out and the doctor would come out.Once my exam was done they showed me the glasses. When I asked a question the receptionist gave some off some shoot answer that did not my question at all. Which came off as "well we already out your order in and you will get them when you get them". I just got out of there and probably won't look back.

HC I: This amazing place is a family owned business and they are extremely passionate about helping and educating people. I've been to many opticians over the years and in the short time I was with these knowledgeable ladies, I learned more than I've ever known about what I should be looking for in frames to fit my face. They found a temporary solution for my ill fitting glasses I'd bought from a well-known eyeglass store when my previous pair had broken to tide me over until I get a new proper-fitting pair. They also have a wide selection of beautiful, stylish frames. Thank you SEE!

A Fan: The staff is attentive and professional. Another plus is that SEE is not owned by a certain notorious conglomerate.HOWEVER, strictly speaking on the retail side, this store isn't entirely my vibe. First, a lot of what's on SEE's website isn't in the store, and vice versa. Second, the price tag before and after the separate prescription charge, per frame, isn't appealing. And third, although the frames at this location vary, they all seem to look the same. I tried on several but didn't like how most of them looked on my face. I kept an open mind as best as I could, but the different-but-similar Harry Potter, stage performer, 1980s serial killer, unibrow-friendly, and funkadelic great-grandmother frames didn't complement me. The few relatively OK-looking frames that didn't fall under the aforementioned categories -- and that kinda sorta worked with my aesthetics -- didn't work with my budget. Sigh.It's a cute and cozy store, but I simply can't justify paying so much for prescription glasses that don't positively wow me.

Cove Arts Photography: Run away. Frame collection includes a good number of v attractive designs. Run away anyway. I don't know if it is a prob w the entire corporation (suspect it is, but didn't stickbaround for conclusive proof) but the Newbury St Boston location has been so amazingly incompetently managed that I wouldn't go near the place if shopping for glasses.We've had to return glasses three times for incorrect lens grinding. Cancel prepaid orders for failure to deliver after 12 or more weeks then wait 7 months for refunds from corporate. Drive 40 min each way + pay $20 for parking when told glasses were ready for pickup when they weren't - twice.The frames look great. They are overpriced & not worth a moment of the nincompoopery with which one must tolerate to get a finished pair of glasses. So run away. Run TF away.

I gave them another chance since I’ve loved my glasses and always had great service. But not this store. Not sure if I wore my invisibility cape but that’s how much help I got. Barry Chaiken: Returned to have lens replaced after UV-coating failed. Paid for new lens and promised a 3 day turnaround for me to drop off frames and have new lens, which would be made in advance, placed into frames, and then completed glasses send back to store. Glasses were not even shipped after 3 days, finally shipped on day 4 and arrived after weekend 6 days late. Asked store to keep me informed of status - I had the flu and did not want to go out in the cold - but never heard from them either by a call, text or email (I gave them all my contact information and asked them to keep me informed). I called them every day, and they had to look up my order - like it was a burden for them. Finally picked up my glasses 6 days late, store was empty, so not sure what the staff does. It surely is not focused on customer service. I gave it 2 stars only because the glasses are fine. As for the customer service, etc., my recommendation is to try one of their competitors.

The staff offers exceptional customer care (from great style advice to figuring out best payment options) and the selection of frames is fabulous! The limited edition collection offers something for everyone and the frames hold up well. I've worn glasses my whole life and this is the first shop that makes shopping for a pair a true pleasure. Stephen Leung: Don't go here.It's been more than a month since I ordered my glasses and they aren't even fitted properly. I can't believe they tried to charge me extra for this debacle. The service is heinously incompetent and the shop is greedy and apathetic. I'm never going back and neither should anyone else.Here's what happened:1) I place my order for a pair of eyeglasses, get told it may take 10 business days.2) Two weeks later, someone calls me from the shop and tells me that my glasses are ready. I rush over there, excited, and then the same person I talked to on the phone spends 20 minutes looking for my order. Then I get told the optician isn't in to make adjustments and fit the glasses.3) The next day, I haul myself back and get them fitted. That night they feel horribly uncomfortable.4) The very next day, the nosepad arms break off.5) I go back to the shop again and they have the nerve to try and charge me for the repair. I yell at them and they eventually waive the fee, and they say it will only take a "couple of days" to get them repaired.6) Two long, full weeks later, I get another call that my glasses are ready. I specifically ask them if the optician will be there to do a fitting. They say "yes, they're here every day".7) I come in, and get told the optician isn't there AGAIN.Completely egregious.

It was simple to make the appointment and while the exam itself was pretty quick it was quite thorough. I received good advice about a condition I have and was recommended an over-the-counter medication, I picked out frames and did not feel pressured into making any decisions and never felt I was being "upsold." An overall great experience, and would recommend it.

Dion Chay: My go-to for any issues I have with my sunglasses. The staff members were very helpful when I needed a minor fix to my favorite Von Zippers (this was after unsuccessful tried at Sunglass Hut and Macy’s). I’ll be sure to hit up this Cohen’s first from now on.

Nikia Phillips: Cohen's Fashion Optical used to be excellent when they were located on Washington Street in the Downtown Crossing Area as well.However, they're now located at 101 Arch Street and I have to tell you "Buy Beware".I have been wearing glasses since I was 9 and contacts since I was 21, I am now 41. (You'll see where I am going with this in a couple of minutes.) I'm going to cut the shirs talk, every other retailer I go to for contact lenses I always order a box. A box of contact lenses usually consist of 24 lenses. Today, Tuesday, May 7th I go in and I am presented with a smaller box which contains 12 lenses for about the same price as a 24 lens box.Therefore, I questioned it the guy whom works there seemed a bit aggitated and defensive. Nevertheless, this place is:1) overpriced2) they are beating business professionals that work in the area etc.2)they truly do not have a concept of "Customer Service"In fact, the male I dealt with this morning is loud, very rude and overbearing. Needless to say I won't be going to Cohen's Fashion Optical, no matter where it is.I won't even go into the transaction that left me with the $50 credit and that's why I ended up getting my contacts from there. They don't call you back when they say the will. It was one problem after the next.Customer Relations, if that's what you want to call it, consists of one female in a office, in another state.I'm going to leave my complaints right there...I'm just sucking it up because of the credit I had there.UPDATE: As you guys can see someone from Cohen's Optical Responded to this review but don't be fooled. I emailed her and to date (Wednesday, May 15th, 2019) I haven't heard back from anyone. It's synonymous on how they do business.

Kevin Sullivan: I walked in there the day I was leaving for Europe with no appointment to try to get my glasses, that broke, fixed. The man at the counter said he could not replace the part that was broken, but said I could get new glasses. He showed me different ones and I picked the one I liked. By that time the eye doctor was in and he saw me right away and performed an eye exam. While I was in my eye exam the man who puts the lenses in the glasses was in and he took my prescription and put the appropriate lenses in the glasses. I tried them on and left, all within an hour 5 hours before I left on my trip. This business is great, great and professional people, great in working with their customers, and great on getting things done quickly.

Chuck Fang: The people here know what they do. Michael especially is an expert on making the right glasses. I have high astigmatism in one eye and high myopia in the other, so tough situation where you need to make precise measurement for the lenses and good choices on the lens material. Previously, with other glasses stores, I have always had glasses that didn't sit well on my face because the weight between the two lenses was unbalanced or the material was poorly chosen. The pair of glasses that Mike made for me is the most comfortable one I have ever worn. I moved to another city and I ask the stores there to replicate exactly what Mike made me, and the optometrists all said that the pair was very well done.

They've gone to great lengths to make sure I'm happy with my purchase (which I am, they have a great selection). I initially had some mild discomfort on the bridge of my nose. Rob provided multiple solutions and even noticed a small amount of looseness on the hinges and so ordered a replacement pair. It's evident that they put customer satisfaction first. I've been recommended to them by multiple people and I have had no regrets. I anticipate being a lifetime customer!

Kelley Perry: While Dr. Cope and the folks who work at this SEE Eyewear are always very friendly, I had a fairly poor experience ordering contacts. The first order I received was the wrong prescription and was not the same type I tried on during my appointment. They then provided me with a trial pair, which was the correct type - but this prescription was different than the first, and again, was not correct. When I called and said my vision didn't feel quite right, Dr. Cope insinuated I was putting the wrong contact in each eye (I wasn't). Finally, I said I'd like to just go back to the contact lenses I was originally using. They ordered them, and they finally sent the correct type and prescription! I'm happy it was eventually settled, but it took far too long for them to figure it out (this process was around 2 months from start to finish). It was also difficult to continue advocating for myself when I was getting pushback on what was clearly a problem on their part, not mine.My experience may not be the norm for this office, and others may have a fine time using this SEE location for their contact needs. However, I will be seeing a different optometrist going forward.
Kerin Perez Harwood: I saw a funky pair of glasses I liked online and figured I would check them out in person. As usual, the funky glasses I liked didn't fit with my face shape. Amy noticed I needed help and came to the rescue. She was very attentive and listened to what I was looking for and what I didn't like about my previous pair of glasses. She pulled around 6 different type of frames, one of which I would have never even picked up off the shelf if I was just browsing alone, the other was actually a pair of frames that were not even on the showroom floor. I loved them both! If it wasn't for Amy I probably would have just left with nothing, but instead I ended up with two funky pairs of glasses that I was actually excited about. Plus I got to take advantage of their buy-one-get-one 50% off sale. Let go our your resistance to ask for help and let Amy find your favorite glasses for you. Highly recommended.
diana renstrom: After many years of wearing specs, See is, hands down, my favorite place to get glasses! They have amazing frames, great customer service, (thanks team Cambridge, MA), the lenses are of excellent quality, and I learned, it is a family owned business. Needless to say, it is not by chance that people compliment my glasses on a regular basis:)

Shane Chandler: Really awesome place - by far the easiest and most enjoyable optometry experience I've had. Dr. Zappala was great. She was able to answer all of my questions and conduct a very thorough and efficient exam.Louise and the rest of the staff were an absolute pleasure. I was being very picky about my eyeglasses and Louise practically pulled out every single pair of glasses to find me the perfect ones. I've never had an experience where a staff member was so willing to take the time to help me right before closing (I typically feel really guilty coming in right around closing time, but I could tell Louise and the staff genuinely did not mind).I'm extremely happy with my experience and my new glasses thanks to Dr. Zappala and Louise!

H Vo (cheeseburgersub): Had a good experience with the exam and choosing frames, but everything went downhill from there. Picking up my glasses, there was little effort made to fit my new frames. I also asked if they could help refit my old frames, and they literally just stepped to the side and pinched the nose pads with their fingers. This was after having spent over $700 on exam for glasses and contacts, and buying a new pair of frames and lenses. They have little desire to help and just want you out of there. Forget ordering contacts through them, I rather not deal with these guys anymore.I've stopped by random eye glass stores before and some have even gone out of their way to replace the nose pads with no cost.

Upon first entering and inquiring about my needs I was immediately helped by a wonderful experienced staff member. Lois has been so helpful in not only setting up my appointment for fitting but listened to my concerns and reassure me that they could work with me.She went beyond just the standard steps. All of the staff were friendly and seemed to know their jobs.
N W: The doctor and optician are professional and nice, but the customer service is horrible, they just lack basic trainings of how to treat their customers. Also, there are signs in the store showing it is mandatory to wear masks, but neither of the ladies at the front desk wears a mask.

Eric Ng: Dr. George Lakkis is the best optometrist I've ever had. This was my first time being fitted for contacts and he made the process very easy for me. His technical knowledge his superb. What separates him are his people skills and his friendly personality in helping people. He recommended products where it fit my needs rather than recommending things that increased his bottom dollar.In my line of work in sales, this is top notch stuff. When I was being fitted with contacts and I was struggling at first, he cheerleaded and encouraged me but not in a demeaning or condescending way. He was very patient. It was an absolute gem working with him. In the future, I will continue to seek him out whether it's here at another location. He is the best and he is what makes the difference at this location.
