So far we've purchased two washing machines, a dryer, and a refrigerator here, and our experience with the first three were great. I felt like the salespeople we've spoken to have always been very knowledgeable and have never tried to upsell us for a bigger commission. Until our most recent purchase, I felt that the follow-up customer care was also great. When our washer purchased in 2019 wasn't leveled correctly, NEA found someone to come fix it. When our dryer stopped working, the salesperson helped me diagnose a blocked vent duct over the phone. Recently, I purchased a top freezer, bottom refrigerator after my fancier side-by-side (purchased at Lowes, long story there) burnt its compressor after three years. The salesperson I worked with really helped us find a refrigerator that maximized our space and even had a water line...BUT he failed to mention that all refrigerators of its kind ship with their doors opening a certain way AND that the doors must be swapped before delivery. This being the second refrigerator I've purchased in my lifetime, and the first that didn't have the teeny side-by-side doors, I didn't think to ask about swapping the hinges. When delivery day came, the deliverymen didn't even level the fridge, leaving it sitting at an angle from side-to-side. Once they left, I discovered that I couldn't open the door all the way because it hit the kitchen island. Because of this I can't even open one of the produce drawers all the way or move the shelves. Apparently I trusted the salesperson a little too much, because this is now my problem to fix at my expense. NEA wants $160 to have this fixed, even though the salesperson admitted over the phone that he should have checked at the point of sale about the door hinge. I'm moderately handy, but I simply don't have time to do this somewhat involved project and the instructions from the manufacturer are terrible. Not to mention, I need the $160 to pay for the food to fill this fridge, with food prices being what they are.New England Appliance should change their tagline to "Our mistakes are your problem."
jennifer trapani: Can not express enough how amazing John and Jim were that delivered our fridge to the second floor today. I live in a 100 yr old house in Dorchester which didn’t make it easy to manuveur around corners and doorways. They made it happen and were so efficient! Worth every penny for the delivery fee! I had nothing but problems with Lowes And still had no fridge after three attempted deliveries only for them to ring bell and drive off.

Carried a fridge up 3 flights, took off two doors , removed the “ old oversized “ refrigerator and you would not ever know they were there.5 Stars everyday. We found out later when it eventually it flooded my kitchen and water broke through the floor and into my basement. Company took NO responsibility whatsoever. Spent almost a year trying to get them to pay for the repairs.REPLY to owner: Whatever you say. I know what I experienced and it was nothing short of a nightmare. Also, we eventually got your insurance to pay (after almost a year of back and forth)--which ultimately places the fault squarely on that end. Save your empty words for someone who doesnt know better. You are only trying to save face for this business. Your business is awful.

They did the delivery fast and efficient I couldn't believe it. Was worried at first because the fridge was big and my door ways are pretty narrow. John took it apart down to the last screw on a 100 degree day I felt so bad but he got it in and I was very impressed. I'll never shop at big box stores again. They even helped my mother who is 86 sweep and clean behind the fridge after they pulled the old one out. Thank you new england appliance!!!! We will definitely be back and I'll be telling my family and friends about the wonderful experience I had with you guys. Hard to find stores that take their job serious these days. They literally beat everyones else's prices. Eric W. was also super helpful and patient when I came in like very week because my items were on back order to check when they were coming. When I got home from work… the doors were still crooked and now one of the lights didn’t work and there was an extremely loud noise coming from the refrigerator sporadically. Called again… was told the reason the doors were crooked was because we had food on one side and not the other. We had No food inside! Then was told to put food in … even though I kindly expressed my disbelief.. I put food in… NOPE!!! Called and explained the situation… was told that the light needed to be replaced… something about the wires… by this time I was done. This was a refrigerator that was supposed to have 2 little indentations on the screen of the water dispenser. Called… said I wanted it picked up and returned… too many problems. Went in to the store to see if they had anything else… nope… so return being done. Great… NOPE! Today is August 24th and they tell me… we can’t pick it up until SEPTEMBER 3rd!!! When I told them that won’t do… I need the credit and the fridge picked up earlier than that so I can put a fridge in my kitchen.( I have kids and need a refrigerator!!!)They tell me that I can drop it off!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Was supposed to get a phone call back from a manager… nope!I am so disappointed and feel like once they got my money… they just don’t care 🤷‍♀️

E.J. Bing: I have never been so disrespected by an employee in my life. I was looking for weather stripping when an employee was walking down the aisle. I said “excuse me ma’am, do you have this type of weather stripping?” (I showed her the picture on my phone from your website. She asked another employee who stated it was in the aisle I was in. I kept looking and a minute later, she told me to check the aisle next to it, which I believe had pneumatic nail guns. I looked and of course it wasn’t there so I went back to the original aisle. She looked at me again, ROLLED HER EYES AT ME, and said in an extremely disrespectful manner, “I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, YOU NEED TO FIND IT YOURSELF.” My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe what I just heard. It took every ounce of my composure to not scream in her face who she thought she was talking to like that. I bit my tongue and asked the female employee in the paint department who went out of her way to search the computer to find it. Turns out that particular brand is only available on your website. I thanked her and went to get the original employees name. She was manning the self checkout but her name was not written on her smock. I’m making sure to document this in writing and will be contacting the manager by phone.

So I have to hire another company to be able to come and open a box to take two Chairs out. because I live off town I couldn't get to her if not I will do it myself.These have been the worst experience ever and I will never buy from lowes again. So this day I still waiting for somebody to call me and say sorry but I know that never going to happen. Your customer service is the worst in the store.

He even made sure I had the correct special light bulb. Lowe’s should look into cloning Deandre as an employee. By far the most helpful Lowe’s employee I’ve ever come in contact.

This time, we call. Nope, not yet, it's behind too many things. Wait shopping. Go home. Come back.This totally messed us up as we were selling the property and ended up installing it, but no time left to do other things.No apologies, just "business as usual" I repeat they were supposed to have it in stock [inventory] but why give a time The Following Day if you can't actually sell it?!One star for a bad experience? That bad experience cost us money. And my renovators had to be paid for going back and forth.There are only a few people who can actually help. Older guys and they're great. But when you finally find the one of two max you that you need they're swarmed with customers.It's hard to find wood that isn't cracked. In general they are stocked though unless it's a sale & I get that.Check out: cashier allowed a customer to "oops I forgot something. Then the shopper was gone for 5 minutes. There wasn't much & nothing heavy that had already been checked through. I wasn't the only one in line there were two more behind me. I got uncharacteristically angry. I got glared at.Returns are efficient. FYI if you're a casual shopper, check the contractor area. Things are cheaper but the same. The garden center has good sales. Be ready to haul your own Christmas tree and mulch. Oddly, they will help you to your car. There's room to pull up.It's very frustrating in there. Go for the circular items.Oh and they block the disabled aids.

dEDa Deda: I go to home depot because they offer 10% off for veterans. Now they require that you download an app to get the discount. I let them know I don't have a phone capable and they say you can't get the discount. Before all that was required was showing a military/veteran ID card.The staff have very little to know knowledge about trades, building, construction, etc. I often end up explaining to them how things work. Also had to explain to two different cashiers how to do a transaction (I'm a former employer from over 10 years ago) because they didn't know how to use their own computer.

Bruce Band: Went to the garden center a 2 Pm today. Loaded up a flat bed with River rock and potting soil. Went up to check out and were told that the garden center check out was now closed. There were 8 of us in line and we were told we could take our flat bed in the store, but with all the plants they have lined up inside the store you couldn’t get by. They didn’t want our business, I will go to Home Depot tomorrow!

While I understand that the staff may not have expert knowledge about construction and the products they sell because I'm sure they do not get paid enough but, I still expect better customer service. I called ahead to ask if I could have a 10-foot butcher block cut in half, and was transferred to the wood department. The person I spoke to said it could be done, but warned me that the edge might be a bit rough. I agreed to this and planned to sand it down myself. However, when I arrived at the store, I was told that they could not cut butcher blocks after all. I was frustrated because I had specifically asked about this before making the trip, and now I was left with a 10-foot piece of wood that wouldn't fit in my car or apartment. The staff did not offer any solutions, so I ended up canceling my order. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by the lack of basic problem-solving and communication skills demonstrated by the people I spoke to. As a result, I don't think I will be shopping here again. It ended up working out because I found less expensive better quality and a higher quantity of butcher block at home depot. So I guess I should thank the rude employees.

I purchased many major appliances from Lowes and spent thousands of dollars with Lowes and the level of service that i have received as payback is appalling. I received multiple damaged dishwashers that where very much dented. Not to mention the cooperate office does not value its customers time and keep you on hold for ever waiting for a manager to speak with. I even asked if a manager could call me when they are available and the person i was speaking with said no but you can call back when it is more convenient for you. So, I can just start the whole process again and wait on hold longer no thank you. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere unless you like damaged goods and zero customer service skills.

Nearly none of the lighting on display had a price tag or even the tag that tells you what shelf you can find it on. All of the small samples of laminate flooring were completely out of stock, and a thick layer of dust on the racks where they're supposed to be. Seems pretty obvious that no one is paying attention to their work around here. Also, they've installed security cameras with flashing blue police lights in the parking lot, a sure sign that crackheads are in the area.

I asked to call the manager and the manager was even more unprepared instead of resolving the situation I was even more unprepared than Matt and I see how sad the lack of training these people is, I am very well attended at the home depot and it is easy to put the job name on the receipt and at lowes it is difficult for employees to know how to put the P.O on receipts.I don't understand why this, if they doesn't work, should be at home.

Marcus Cyr: I have to finally say something! This is my neighborhood Lowes (Woburn). I am a veteran that uses this store to the amount of several thousands of dollars a year. The customer service is unacceptable. The employees at the returns/exchange desk require additional, remedial training on the objective of customer service! They often have bad attitudes, no smiles, shake their head at you when they don't agree all the while in a disrespectful manner. They are more inclined to tell you what they "CAN NOT" do for you versus what they can do to make it a happy experience and leave Lowes with customer satisfaction. I had an issue the other day with a price match on something I bought earlier in the day, they gave me every reason why they could not, I brought the policy with me. I went through one associate, one customer service manager, then asked for a store manager. When the store manager arrived, she was a good example of how to treat customers. (She should be praised, I did not get her name, she was a female ASM with reddish hair). The ASM did not give any grief, herd me out and agreed. She then processed the price match (refund) without issue. All the while, the untrained folks behind her mumbling that they should take back the return instead of price matching per their (Lowes) policy. My question is, why couldn't the previous associates respond with, "Let me call and a manger and see if we can do this", instead of arguing, making false accusations, and telling me they can't. Retraining is a must! My suggestion to leadership it to have a "down day" and have MANDATORY training that the employees have to sign and acknowledge, they understand and are subject to reward or discipline based on their work conduct from then on! It is time to stop letting the retail & service labor force dictate to employers.Additional Note: Patty is a good example of how Lowes employees should appreciate customers!

Matthew David: Big corporate hardware store... I've had a few very knowledgeable employees, but its been hard to find of late.Ive ordered several appliances from Lowes. All of the last set came damaged. Two were obvious and not functional impacts and their delivery department took care of it. The third was hidden by their installer and affects function of the unit and I missed their window where they will help remedy. They do have good deals here and there, but if you order appliances, please watch everything they do from unloading to installation and functional testing, unlike what I did.

However, I have noted on a number or occasions that the staff at the check out registers is often more interested in carrying on conversations among themselves than focusing on getting the customers rung up and on their way. Maybe management should emphasize to the staff that, while they are working, the customer comes first and should be their primary focus at all times. I realize that personal conversations or chatting with fellow employees is something that we all do at work, but as a customer, I would have a better experience if I didn't need to wait for them to finish their conversation before they focused on me.UpdateWell it happened again yesterday when I came in to return an item I purchased earlier that day. The clerk processed the return, but while I was waiting for the receipt, another employee came over and she started talking to him and got in the other computer, focusing on him, and left me standing there waiting for the receipt. When I interrupted her and asked for my receipt from the printer, unbelievably, her response was, “Just give me a minute.” Lucky for me the other employee reached over to the printer and finally gave me the receipt. I think there still needs to be some additional training here.

This store is incredibly robust with every little thing you might need (from my amateur perspective, but holy cow they have such a variety of tools, equipment, supplies, resources).Not to mention, the store was very clean, easy to navigate, and my stop to just see if they had what I needed included 3 different very friendly, helpful staff members. This will absolutely be my go-to spot for all my home improvement needs - I know that sounds corny, but it is absolutely true. I’m so impressed.

Jim B: Jack came by a couple weeks ago to assess an issue with squirrels running up and down the chimney. We called Jack for a chimney cap but he explained caps don't work too well where we live, but a screen would do fine. This was on a Saturday and he was back the following Monday morning and installed one. Not only did he save us money and fix the problem, he was incredibly friendly and sincere. I'm glad we called his company. If you don't, you don't know Jack!
Shannon Holbrook: Jack did a great job installing our new gas fireplace. He is friendly and knowledgable. Our neighbors recommended him after he installed a wood stove for them. We had a few minor issues after the fireplace was installed and Jack dealt with them quickly.
GP: We had to wait several weeks before Jack visited us to replace a chimney cap and investigate the possibility of a squirrel nest in our chimney liner. The fall is one of his busiest times, but we were very fortunate to have Jack work on our stove, liner and cap issues. He is superb, he works very efficiently, and frankly, he is the best!
rachel Cantor: I can’t even begin to tell you how enraged I am. This wasn’t even my situation so much as my friend’s but I am so appalled that I feel compelled to tell the story. My friend hired and scheduled an appointment with Mr. Hill 2 weeks in advance. She then asked me to come by and wait for the chimney sweep. I planned to arrive 15 minutes before his scheduled time just to be on the safe side. About an hour and a half before the scheduled appointment time, Jack called my friend at work. He left a message saying he had finished his previous job early and he was wondering if he could come by earlier. She was tied up at work and sent me a text message with his phone number asking me to reach out to him. I IMMEDIATELY reach out to Jack. The phone went to voicemail so I left a message stating I live in the neighborhood and was heading over to the house, I’ll be there momentarily, feel free to head over! Less than 5 minutes after I left that voicemail, I arrived at my friend’s house. I sat on the couch in complete silence while I waited for Jack to arrive. Now remember, I raced over there so he could come early. It is about a half an hour before the scheduled appointment time and I receive a text from my friend saying that she received an email from Mr. Hill’s secretary stating he needed to reschedule because no one was at the house when he arrived. I WAS THERE THE ENTIRE TIME!!!!! I am mediately call Mr. Hill’s cell phone. He answers and I tell him I that I have been waiting for him at the house but my friend received an email that you arrived and no one was there and you need to reschedule? Also it is still a half an hour before the SCHEDULED time. He says “ya i was over there, left a message but no one got back to me so now I’m not even in the area anymore”. I asked him if he knocked on the door because I was here to which he replied “well no”. I said no you did not and the appointment time has not passed so what is the problem? His response, he repeated “ya I’m not in the area anymore so I have to reschedule”. HE WAS NEVER THERE!!! Long story short, and this has been a long story! HE LIED! Hope you had a nice afternoon off Jack. She will not be rescheduling!
Irwin Nesoff: Very honest. We have a wood stove and scheduled a chimney cleaning. He showed up right on time and looked over the stove and checked the chimney outside. He then told us that they were clean and did not need to be cleaned. He could easily have done a cursory cleaning and charged the full fee. There was no charge at all for the visit. If you are looking for an honest business I highly recommend.

Had Napoleon pellet stove installed within a week, after having fire and removing wood burn stove.He went above and beyond. I can now feel warm 🔥 and cozy for many winters to come here in Hull. Everything was done exceptionally and was left cleaner then it was before. Jack also made a recommendation to fix some work for us at top of the chimney done by a previous contractor. Mike Mullins: Jack Hill is the best. We had an issue with our fireplace that we needed fixed in time for hosting Christmas. He showed up exactly when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part (an exhaust fan) and had it installed all in a matter of days. That in itself was exceptional customer service, but then Jack went way above the call of duty when the electrician needed to get up on our roof to complete the installation. Jack returned and set-up the scaffolding so the electrician could access the roof. When that electrician failed to show, Jack returned a second time to erect the scaffolding for the replacement electrician -- even though it was Christmas Eve and even though Jack's part of the job had been completed. I highly recommend Jack, not only because he knows everything about fireplaces and chimneys, but because he has impeccable customer service.

Tim Hughes: At the beginning of this month, I called Jack about a problem I was having with my propane gas stove and explained to him that my wife had a baby earlier that week and I was desperate to have the stove fixed as soon as possible. We set up a date for him to come out but I was shocked when he called me back saying he could come days earlier than expected. He came out and was professional and quickly figured out the problem with the stove. Unfortunately, a part had to be ordered so he was unable to fix it for good at that moment but he came back the following week, fixed the problem which was a venting issue, and now my stove works great. His price was very very reasonable especially considering the fact that I flat out told him I'd pay anything to have the stove fixed because of our new baby, he could've pulled the wool over my eyes but he is honest and a true knowledgeable professional in his field. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in the south shore area.
Alison Tangherlini: Jack Hill came to our home to clean our pellet stove. That morning the pellet stove, which heats our home, was running fine. He was scheduled for 1:00 that day, so I shut the stove off about 10:30 so that it would have time to cool down before he arrived. He arrived with one other man and was there for about 35 minutes. He was rather short with me when asking if I knew how to clean it the right way.So he leaves, I go to turn the stove on... doesn’t work!! I immediately call Jack to ask if he knows why it may not be turning on. He was immediately aggravated and reluctantly said, “ugh I will be back in a little bit” and hung up. Showed up 30 minutes later, pulled the stove back out and said “sometimes things just break”! I said it just doesn’t make sense as it was working perfect before you came and cleaned it. He was unable to figure it out and claims that something with the electrical box must have coincidentally broke. He told us he would try and be in touch with someone who services our brand stove and be in touch. 3 days go by and he said no luck. I called him back and he was talking over me saying that he didn’t break my stove and it’s our problem! Told him we didn’t think it was right and he should try and figure this out. Repeated again it wasn’t his fault and swore and me and hung up!! Awful customer service!!!UPDATE!!We had another company come out to look at our stove that stopped working as soon as Jack left... sure enough it was his fault! He jammed wires into the motor when he pushed the stove back in as well as not cleaning any of the components. And to boot... when calling around for places to come and look at it, when mentioning Jack Hills name, they all knew of him from other customers complaining about his customer service and work. So yes it was Jack’s fault. And funny he never mentioned anything about not purchasing a Quadra fire pellet stove while he was in my home. Don’t waste your money having him clean your stove!!

Dan Finnegan: When one of our trucks broke down this summer, United in Braintree kept us up and running. We had jobs in progress around the state. Within an hour, United had us in a brand new F250 with all the capabilities we need. We pulled up to their office and the truck was out front, clean, gassed up, and stocked with the hitches and adapters we needed to hook up our trailers and go. It worked so well for us, we used them a few times throughout our busy season to expand our capabilities on demand and get more work done faster and more efficiently. Could not have been happier with the team at United, the quality of the equipment, the service, the speed, etc. they took time to learn about our operation and help us solve our challenges. Justina behind the counter is a fantastic help. They’re now our first thought when we have a challenge.
