Puppet Showplace Theater: what do users think?
Daniel Wei: Fun shows. Good for toddler and young kids. Near subway line and free parking on Sunday.
Jeff Sylvan: I recently visited Puppet Showplace Theater with my 3-year-old son and was genuinely impressed by the experience. The staff continually ensured that all children had a good view and were well taken care of. The puppeteer displayed great passion and dedication to his craft. The performance quality exceeded my expectations, especially for a show aimed at such a young audience. The children were captivated and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Daniel Levin: I like going with my mom and my nieces here
Francia Vazquez: Great place to visit, we saw the Happyland música and it was amazing, our little one (22 months) love it. We'll definitely come back soon.I recommend getting there early as the place is small.
Vanessa Mourao: Cozy, fun and welcoming!
Ana M: Great place to bring the kids for a show! My girls loved it. Super friendly staff and great seating policy so all the little people can see. The puppet show is elevated which I really appreciated.
Dmitry Vasilyev: Kids love this place!
Susan Fernandois: Wonderful as always!
Evaline Hsu: My 3-year-old son and I enjoy our time there! We try to go to a show once a month! My son likes to hang out (coloring, reading, looking at the puppets) there before and after the show. It's a wonderful place for family and introducing young kids to puppetry. Yes, after seeing three shows, my son's favorite game lately is to put on a show at home using his stuffed toys. We love this community theater!
Jim Kiely: Puppet Showcase is an oasis of joy for children and adults. There is nothing quite like being with others in a dimly lit room and having collective disbelief so suspended that everyone is transported to fictional worlds by characters made of cloth, wood and papier-mache. I can’t think of a time when Puppet Showcase Theater held as much importance as it does today.
Ashley Lorenz: Always great. My 9 yr old still enjoys the shows!
JW Johnson: My family and I have loved the Brookline Puppet Showplace Theatre for many years. My three kids used to enjoy going to shows as children and we have many fond memories of vibrant birthday parties full of fun and adventure.  In fact we all have some very lovely memories of Mary Churchill and Mr Davis (I forgot his first name, oh dear) from back in the days that the children were small. It all started because my eldest son fell in love with the puppets on the Mr Rodgers show and wanted to see "a real live puppet." My wife and I had no idea where to go to find such a thing but were very pleased to discover a puppy theatre in our very own Brookline! As I mentioned before we had several birthday parties there and organized more than a handful of school field trips so that other kids could see the puppets and the marionettes.  My daughter in particular admired Mary Churchill and at one point wanted to become a "Mary puppet lady," as she called it. That sadly never happened but she did instill a lifelong love of puppetry in her own children as well as her nieces and nephews. As a very little girl my daughter once wrote Mary a long letter filled with childlike questions and Mary was gracious enough to not only write her back but to send her pictures of all the special puppets. I believe that they kept up a correspondence for some time and she was very influential in my daughter's life. She even credits Mary with helping her open her heart to her path to teaching.  Mary was always kind and she had a special way of making each and every child feel important and listened to.  She had the most bright and pretty smile too.Even though my daughter never really became a puppeteer we have continued to love the Showplace Theater. One of the best family adventures we ever had was to go to the Zoo to see the Zoo at Midnight show. We at first had thought that the giant monsters and spooky things would be too scary of the children and we were almost correct. At first they were very scared, but the staff, especially a lovely young gentleman named Paul, were always right there to help the kids through. By our second trip to the show none of the children were afraid at all!We were very saddened to hear of the departure of that very dear Paul Wattkins.  As a very young boy my grandson J (I hear that I am not supposed to give out their real names online) was terrified of the puppets. The first time he saw them he shrieked and burst into tears. Paul seemed to notice this and went right over to him and showed him how th4 puppets worked which made them not so scary. Paul always seemed to have a very intuitive understanding of kids and what it was they needed. He was quite a musicial too and my grandson (who I think had a little crush on Paul after the scary monster incident) used to love to be part of the musical parades and interactive singing. It will be a sad day when my grandchildren say they are too old for puppets but I know that day will come. However I hear that they offer classes and maybe our family can continue our love of the puppet theatre by learning to perform with puppets.
Siamak Malek: Very friendly staff. Entertaining. But completely devoid of any diversity. If you want to see puppets who cover various shades of pale, with straight hair in colors ranging from blonde to a light brown doing northern European fairy tales this place will deliver. A good place if you're nostalgic for 1950s cartoons. If you're looking for an experience for your child that will reflect the society we live in, I would avoid this place.
Veronica Barron: High quality performances for children, & also for adults. Amazing mentorship of artists at all professional levels. Really really good classes, for both hobbyists & pros, kids & adults. I love you, Puppet Showplace! 💕🤖🦖👏🙌[Edited to add: since writing this review, I now teach classes here occasionally! I wrote “really really good classes” based on the many wonderful classes I’ve taken as a student over the years; now that I’m also teaching, can attest that the students are really great!]
Jongchan Park (JC): It was really entertaining and joyous time. My son was invited for birthday party of his friend, and he was very excited😊. The show was awesome and every kids were interested in the show. They looks providing very nice service for party in addition to the fun show. I hope they can keep the show amid COVID time for kids and families.
A L: My daughter‘s friend had a birthday party here and we loved to watch the puppet show! It was wonderful experience.Hopefully they reopen as before.
Don Doughty: Heard about the Bad-News, how do we support your efforts?Discovering the "Puppet Showplace Theater" takes you into a wonder-filled world of live story-telling, not just for children but for adults too!I had the fun to see an adult presentation, where we were transported to the fantasy world painted by talented story teller.I have taken the time to edit together several photos from the end of a Jan-2018 convention show from the Boston Weston Hotel and look forward to seeing him and his fellow cast members tell another spellbinding tale.
Mary Beth Holman: What a delightful afternoon. I esp appreciated the theater's focus on diversity and inclusion.
Darien shannon: We had our twins 5 year birthday party here. They easily and professionaly accommodated 40 of us (including adults) for the puppet show that was also open to the public, and for an hour party after it was closed to the public. Our kids and their friends really enjoyed the show, and the space for the party. I would recommend this for great children entertainment and as a place to host a children's birthday.
Gavin Kleespies: Great place, the show was really good and not too long for a kid. Enjoy the Q&A after the show.
Mama Llama: Cute place

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University: what do users think?
Kristopher Fronk: Fun and easy good entertainment
Syrah M: We enjoyed the play!Parking at 375 Longwood is convenient. Great outing with family and lots of places to eat afterwards within walking distance!
Janet Huang: Affordable shows and good opportunity for younger kids to get exposed to theater.I saw Make Way for Ducklings and Willy Wonka here. I believe the shows are performed by students and not professional actors. Make sure you have the right expectations when purchasing a ticket. I prefer productions in Umbrella Theater in Arlington.
Kathy Venetis: I had a wonderful time at the play along with our 1st graders. I recommend it for young kids!!! GOOD ACTING!!!
Shira Frager: Great Venue! We went to see "Make Way for Ducklings" and it was excellent.
Rob Lyttle: Always a great time, friendly and helpful staff.
V K (jeannie): Great venue, not too large. All seats have great sightlines.comfortable too. Wonderful performers in Matilda, the Musical, the children mostly had free training: acting, singing dancing. Matilda was a 9 year old, Lavender,7!!
Cecile Braun-Jones: Love love love their family friendly productions and community outreach and involvement . Great program and great shows for the family. Not a bad seat in the house
Sarah Clabby: Extremely grateful for how inclusive this theater was for children with disabilities. My son is autistic and we discovered the social story in the “Resources” section which made a HUGE difference as we prepared for and during the show. They also had a squishy toy available upon request and, upon seeing him having a difficult time entering the theater, a staff member offered us an extra set of ear muffs for the show to reduce sensory input. We were able to take several quiet breaks and potty breaks during the show, as other children also needed the same so it did not feel disruptive. Overall, it was a truly wonderful afternoon and a special place for children with special needs!
Patty Wojtowicz: Wonderful, creative summer camp for kids!
Paula Lacolla: Actors were good, seats more comfortable, first time going to a show so enjoyed it...
Ben Saraydarian: Best Theatre to take Acting Classes at in my opinion. Better than Disneyland!
Benadryl: Amazing Place to take theatre classes. You learn a lot with amazing teachers.
David Hornfischer: SawRagtime.,Terrific show. Strong cast incl kids. Great score. Show ran a bit long. Could have cut a song or two
Mimi Owin: I didn't hate the place , ...I j6st didn't go there my pn says I did🤨
Ale A: Tuve la oportunidad de ver la obra de Willy Wonka y estuvo fenomenal, los actores de lujo. El teatro me gusto mucho es fácil llegar y las instalaciones me parecieron muy limpias y el personal muy atento.
Stephanie Conley: I love the plays they do
Behzad Taimur: Great cultural and extra curricular activities go on here for most of the year. Being close by and visiting here often helps makes the academic experience more fulfilling. The Riverway takes you downtown and elsewhere. Nice pretty area. A little riverlet and parks nearby. The area has great student life.
Artsy Autumn: Our family has enjoyed many great productions over the years featuring local talent!
Scott Harrison: Nice
Anthony Pesaturo: Wonderful

Ben Saraydarian: The best children's theatre I know. Puts on 8 great productions every year. They always make sure you have something to do and each show that you are in is a blast!
Benadryl: Great place that does A+ Children's productions. They also don't cast based on age or how much you register. So everyone get's the role that the creative team thinks you would be best at!

Leyka Louis: How do I sign up or join the program?
Karen George: Teaching artists, avoid BCT! I suppose the programs at BCT may be great for children, but it really depends on the staff hired to teach. This is especially true since BCT leadership provides little to no framework or guidance for teaching artists when they are planning programs. Even if a student's experience at BCT ends up being a great one, rest assured that the opposite is true for an employee. Besides the fact that communication from leadership staff to employees at BCT is limited to nonexistent, they violate employee contracts by failing to pay their employees for work until a month or longer after their scheduled pay day.
Genevieve Young: It is often said that Boston Children's Theatre trains "people first and actors second." This can certainly be attributed both the professional training and the supportive environment found in all aspects of the company. Both myself and others have noticed  that it is not only my performance skills that have improved. My self confidence and communication skills have transformed since my training has begun. BCT is a place where everyone is not only able to be themselves, but their truest selves.
Patricia Gill: BCT has been bringing quality shows to Boston for some time now!
Tanja Conley: Excellent

Pete Mac D: Decent aquarium, but quite small and not many larger animals. The penguins were the highlight for my kids. I much prefer Mystic Aquarium though.
Wayne g: Great place to bring the Family
Shay W.: Visited this aquarium while on a school trip with 150 kids. The tour was amazing and the building is beautiful. The fish look like they are very well maintained as well as the property. This was such an amazing sight to see. If you're in the area would absolutely recommend for a visit!
Marissa: Nice place to visit and spend a little time.
Mohamed Abulleif: Lovely aquarium. Love the stingrays, they're like cute little wet dogs
JesseOutLaw James: Good place to kill 3 or so hours
Pd: Nice aquarium but no sharks. Also, got a little bit crowded.
Mark G: Really enjoyed this.
Mary Rodriguez: Muy bonito
Michael Dicellis: Great for the family
Sean Sweeney: Went with my family, had a private viewing to see Reggie the seal...it was great!!
Sharayu Bhat: Good place to visit on weekends with family.
Ivannia Arias: Definitivamente un acuario impresionante 😲 hermoso 💚 yo como loca
hany Mekhaeil: It very beautiful
Lindsey Bassett: Dont be fooled by the reviews, they're written by parents who think this place is great because their kids had a good time. Kids are easy to please and entertain. This aquarium had no fun interactive exhibits or shows, no sharks, no octopus or squid, no whales, no turtles. The amount of families with young children was insane. Nearly every parent walking around with empty strollers, it was a huge fire hazard, and also so inconsiderate!! Apparently maximum occupancy rules dont apply here cuz this place was packed. Safety doesnt seem to matter to anyone running this place? I will never return.
Pooja Sarda: Nice treats and songs
yoon lee: Stop making up generous review on this museum! No ASTC, AZA? Not worth to spend $$$ for only half hour worth collection. Shut down this aquarium!
Chelsea Worster: Amazing!!!!!!!

Seth K: They were closed. No hours on the windows. No hours on Google maps. That's a special level of dedication.Anyway, if/when they open, they have higher prices on the pick a brick wall than regular lego stores. Also terrible selection on the wall. And no VIP points.
Wai01: Not worth the price of regular ticket. Thank God I purchased a Go Card thru Groupon. Because, if I would have purchased a regular ticket for my party of seven I would have been mad. My kids had some fun, but it's a money grabber. The set of the city of Boston looked cool. The 4D movie was boring and prepare to get WET.

Went several times before it was closed and they only 1 one short ninjago movie that was way over played. So much stuff was ok the first time then a bore after. Got him a license plate and some rock candy ( well that’s more for me ) 😂. Really wished the sold large lego sets like the model giraffe they have outside of the store.

David Button: I understand I went two days before Lego began renovations. I agree they should renovate. Don't sell any tickets if many displays did not work and portions of the room where closed. As an adult I expect I should also be interested and enjoy. Maybe my 9 year old is too old and not into Legos, but after leaving we both thought the experience sucked. I know it is a majorrenovation and I hope Lego will step up their game.
Shaad Masood: Many displays are broken / not working. Earthquake station / Space Rovers / Airport.Cell reception (Verizon) poor inside building. Logging into public Wi-Fi was difficult.Friendly staff.Would like to see more emphasis on hygiene. I.E wiping down stations / equipment frequently.Kiddos enjoyed the 4d movie / VR station / play gym.
Amanda Fenderson: Did I miss something? Almost $40 per ticket for what?? Basically it's a second floor of 2 rides and a bunch of building stations. My 4 year old was bored after 30 minutes... LS Tours: THIS IS A MUST if you have a school group visiting Boston! We have arranged a number of visits for school groups and including this most recent visit, the experience is seamless from start to finish! We reserved our timed visit well in advance with their group sales rep and everything was as we agreed to once the group arrived. Thanks Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum for always taking good care of our groups!
Allison Hunt: Cute, quaint, educational, affordable! And great views on the tea room patio.

Leena Appicatlaa: Having read so much about the Boston tea party and its significance on the American war of independence, this was on the to do list in Boston. The tour starts with a meeting similar to what it must have been in the 17th century. An interactive way of getting introduced through actors dressed in the colonial style. The museum has interesting artifacts and a little holographic show. There is also a short movie depicting the events. The tea tasting experience was good and we did take up the bottomless cup to taste all the teas.Overall a great way of learning about history and good for kids too.
Stacie Hines: Very fun experienceVisited on Weekday Wait time 1 hr+ Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $31+ …More
Elena B: Highly entertaining and enthralling tour, combining different activities: costumed actors impersonate historical persons and recreate events from the past, everyone can throw a tea box into the water and walk on the replica of the 18 century ship, watch dramatic video... A fascinating combination of old artifacts and newest technologies (talking portraits). This tour exceeded my expectations; and totally worthts the money. I highly recomend it.
Mike Rickles: A friend of my daughter had just come to Boston a few months back, so when my wife and I decided we were coming we called her and asked for some travel tips. She recommended we walk the Freedom Trail and go to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. Even though she is 27 years younger than us, we respect her opinion and did both. I can't say enough good things about this place! The actors were always in character. Even when I asked questions they answered in character. It was very interactive and interesting. It was history at the core but the audience all seem to be enthralled. Then they added technology in ways I could have never imagined that was so seamless and impressive. I am in my 50's and loved it just as much as the young lady that recommended it to us which illustrates that it is entertaining for all ages. I don't know who runs the show around there but in my opinion they should be given a raise! From beginning to end it was splendid. I think David Letterman used to call this "EDUTAINMENT". And that it is.Highly recommend.
Vee H: Staff were wonderful. They reenact parts during the time Era surrounding the Boston tea party.
