L.A. Burdick Handmade Chocolates: what do users think?
Jaye Aster Broder: Yes, the hot chocolate is very good. I had the milk hot chocolate, which was a little too sweet for me but some of the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. We did not need to wait too long. There is some seating. It’s a really cute environment.
Barry: The girl working there was SO RUDE dealing with me !!!! It was closing time and explain just want to ask question BUT SHE WAS SO RUDE !!!! Bad experience!
Brittani Farrell: Beautiful shop, lovely looking desserts- rudest counter staff person that quickly encouraged me not to spend a dime here. I politely asked if I could bring in an outside drink, and I stumbled over myself nervously. The counter person responded with a harsh tone after putting his hands up in a rude gesture and saying “okayyyyy let’s start at the beginning with what you want to order”, seeming annoyed that I inconvenienced him with an extra 10 seconds of explanation. (There was no line behind me). I really hope there is a different culture that I missed here, because it had the potential to be a lovely business.
Heather G: Best hot chocolate of my life! I got the milk chocolate, it was very rich and so creamy! My travel partner got the dark chocolate and he liked it (I'm not a fan of dark) he said it was very bitter (the way its supposed to be) we loved this place so much we came back the next day! Very cute little place
Diarra Amoa: Great Hot Chocolate, though their Pain au Chocolats were a bit hard. 🤷🏾‍♀️👏🏾
Elizabeth Stewart: The hot chocolate is amazing but we were quickly met with a graying bussboy who yelled at us for stacking plates on one of the few open tables. Maybe do your job silently and stick to serving hot chocolate.
Enyo Pax: Always stop by here whenever we are around. Seating is at a premium but if you want to grab stuff to go it's great!
Bradley Osterhout: If you love chocolate this is the place. Amazing hot chocolate, mocha's, chocolate mice and baked goods.
Paul Tsvor: The best chocolates in New England 🍫
Moonstone08: The sweets, desserts, and teas are delicious. I haven't tried their hot chocolate yet, but hopefully I will get the chance soon since so many of my friends have been loving it.I was ordering their “Earl Grey Mousse Cake” for my mother's birthday and the customer service was so helpful in-store and over the phone. I would definitely stop by again, and I truly recommend their cakes as they are really flavorful and creative.
Lauren Smit: Expensive but REALLY GREAT CHOCOLATE!!!
Liubov Birger: Очереди долгие, обслуживание медленно, продукция так себе на 3+
Alex C: "The best hot chocolate in Boston" has been on my constantly growing list of things to try for a while now, and it was worthy of the hype. Absolutely decadent is the only way I can describe the white drinking chocolate. The Burdick cookies were a phenomenal accompaniment, too. The cashier was extremely nice and a joy to interact with.
권진주: 저랑 너무 잘맛는 L.A Burdick ~!!
Hank Cooper: I honestly believe that this is the best hot chocolate in Boston!
Nancy Schumm: Exquisite chocolatesLike works of art and SO delicious
Scott Hersey: Best hot chocolate ever.
A Grant: Smooth and delicious coffee and chocolate drinks. There is such a wide variety of desserts and coffee products to take home, you can plan on spending $25-50 a visit. Worth it! Arrive early in the day if you plan on finding a parking spot and a table.
RAY-CHUL: Ordered a croissant on 3/25 at around 4pm and was told they couldn’t warm it up…who serves cold cheese croissants!? Wasn’t impressed.
Fatima1 a: The best hot chocolate ever
Einar Lárusson: Awesome chocolate drinks and other chocolate products, go for extra whipped cream

Beth's Chocolate: what do users think?
Frank Carrano: My wife and I took a class with Beth--it was phenomenal. We learned a ton about the complexities of chocolate, tasted a variety of different bars, and made ganache, truffles, homemade Rice Krispie bars, and chocolate medallions. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
Wanbing Zhang: My husband and I had a wonderful 2.5 hr (which didn't feel like that long at all) taking Beth's class. It was such a pleasant experience seeing how the chocolates are made step by step and getting to taste a wide range of chocolates from different origin. We also got to take home a ton of hand-made tasty sweets which are just the cutest gifts to friends! Thanks Beth!
Neva Corbo-Hudak: Beth's chocolate class was a terrific experience. She catered the class to our group, teaching us about chocolate basics, making ganache, moulding chocolates, a chocolate tasting, and more. We learned a great deal and left with many delicious treats. Highly recommended!
Devin Molloy: My mom and I recently took a class with Beth, and wow what a great experience! Her knowledge and passion for chocolate are unmatched, and she catered the class to exactly our tastes and interests. Everything was delicious, and we can’t wait to try out some of the new tips and tricks we learned at home!
Justin Satriano: We took a class with Beth, she's really knowledgeable, easy going, and fun to work with. We already knew a good deal about making chocolate, but she was able to teach us even more beyond that and coach us on technique. Highly recommend!
Ashley DeFilippo: Wow! To start, Beth is a creative and very talented chocolatier! I am a chocolate fanatic and addict and I have to say Beth's chocolate is one of, if not, the best chocolate I have ever tasted. For a few years now my boyfriend has gotten me assorted chocolates for my birthday and Valentine's Day from Beth's chocolate. And all of them are worth savoring every single bite. If eating chocolate is you or your loved ones thing I promise you her chocolates will not disappoint! This year my boyfriend surprised me by taking me and four friends to a chocolate class and it did not disappoint!! We were welcomed into Beth's home and made to feel comfortable and prepared to make chocolate. We started with a chocolate tasting and learning about chocolate, how it is sourced, and what it consists of. Beth was very well educated on the subject and it was amazing to hear so many knowledgable facts. Next, we learned how to temper chocolate and spread it to make crispy chocolate bark! After that we made chocolate ganache balls. As if that wasn't enough then we made chocolate medallions by tempering, piping, and topping them. We still weren't finished--we made dipped truffles and then went back and learned how to make ganache and turn them into covered truffles. It was absolutely amazing the 3 hours went by so quickly and involved tons of tasting along the way! And the best part was we got to take home bags and bags of chocolate!! It will not disappoint if nothing else buy a sampler of chocolate to support a lovely individual. But I highly suggest taking a class and really getting the best of both worlds!Beth's chocolate for life!!!!
Andy Webb: My daughter and I recently took Beth's chocolate making class. Beth was a great teacher who took the time to teach us about the process of chocolate making from bean to bar. It was really fun to learn how to temper chocolate and the chocolates we made and decorated were delicious. I can't wait to try what I learned at home
Louise Winn: Great class on learning to make chocolates. Beth is a great teacher and extremely knowledgeable. The chocolates were delicious.
Amy Brodesky: Took a great class on molded chocolates and truffles! Beth is a wonderful teacher -- knowledgeable, patient, and organized! I highly recommend the class and her delicious chocolates -- love the ginger, pomegranate, and coffee ones!
Kingsley Harris: Some of the most delicious, aesthetically pleasing, and adventurous chocolates I’ve ever had.
Mike Nelson: Delicious!
Tania Hide: Beth's classes are as exceptional as her chocolates! My 10 year old son and I attended a three-hour class and came away confident to make truffles and chocolate bark on our own at home. Highly recommended! I can't wait to attend another class.
Laura S.: I took the introductory class from Beth where we made chocolate bark, truffles, learned how to use transfer sheets, etc. We learned about tempering chocolate (key to successful chocolate making!), and made some delicious and beautiful chocolates to take home. Beth is very knowledgeable and passionate about all things chocolate, and is a very patient teacher. She has a lovely and welcoming home and her kitchen is perfect for chocolate making. Our class started out with a chocolate tasting, and I was thoroughly surprised by the different flavors apparent in different dark chocolate bars, and it was very interesting to taste an actual cocoa bean! I'm always looking for nice homemade gifts that I can share, and I made two batches of truffles after taking Beth's class that were beautiful and delicious. After taking the class, I had some follow-up questions, Beth responded quickly to my email messages and was very helpful. I'm looking forward to taking her class on molded chocolates in April. In addition, Beth's Chocolates are so pretty and delicious, I love her chocolates with ginger, and her chocolates with passion fruit.
Bill Laberis: Once you've eaten Beth's chocolates, no other chocolate will satisfy. The flavors, artistry, and top-quality ingredients make for the most outstanding chocolates available anywhere.
Julie Ann Goldblatt: I met Beth at the Newton Town Hall craft fair and fell in love with her chocolates. Since then I have taken two of her chocolate making classes and was very impressed with her knowledge as well as ability to teach the classes.
Julie Wood: Love love love Beth's chocolates. Not just because I am a chocoholic, but because they are fresh, delicious, and artistic. For those in the Boston area, I highly recommend taking Beth's course on making chocolate. You'll be surprised by what you can do in just one afternoon!
Maya Chelminsky: A really fun chocolate making birthday party for a 15 year old!
JanBroganbooks: This is just simply the best chocolate I've ever tasted, with a mix of rich, chocolate and unusual and delicious flavors and fillings. Unique flavors and pretty to look at - they make great gifts if you can stop from eating them yourself.
Eliza Lewis: I have taken a class from Beth at Beth's Chocolate and have been a regular customer. The chocolates are so incredibly good. What I particularly love is that there are so many varieties; while it's hard to choose favorites, the malted and the fig chocolates are at the top of my list. There is truly something for everyone. Unless you don't like chocolate; but who doesn't like chocolate?
Julie Benyo: The freshest, small-batch chocolates you'll find. Exquisite flavors from simple pleasures like rice crispie bark to exotic, party-in-your-mouth passion fruit chocolates.
Michael Rothenberg: Really delicious and subtle flavors that appeal to chocolate lovers as well as those (like me) with less educated palates. Beth is dedicated to her craft and will fill custom orders. This is really high end chocolate but very reasonably priced.

Beacon Hill Chocolates: what do users think?
カイジ(魁士): お土産に買って喜んでもらえました。小洒落た綺麗なお店です。味は分かりません。店員さんの話すスピードが早く、あたふたして恥ずかしかったです。
shobh raj: Bad customer service
Kyler M.: Cute chocolate shop - on a cold day, grab a hot chocolate and sit a while.
Exposing fake fuckery: I would NEVER go here ever! Me and my friend where the only ones in the store he was on an important phone call on speaker because his phone ear piece is broken where about to order and the girl goes can you take that phone or speaker so we don’t hear!!!!!! Stuff your over priced chocolate up your yuppy behind your rude gross and disrespectful!!
Michael DiBona Sr: Really appreciate great Chocolate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mary Ellen Tucker: Great chocolates. Recent visit revealed serious staff shortage. I would have purchased more if the store was not so crowded. I hope they are able to resume full service. The truffles are splendid!
Nicolas Depauw: (Almost) the best chocolates in Boston, maybe in the US...I'm originally from Europe and American chocolate is not quite the same honestly... but at Beacon Hill chocolates they improt truffles from all over the world I believe, or at least a lot from Europe, and that's always been my go-to place.I've tried many shops across the US and thus far its always been my favorite.I said "almost" at the beginning just because there is one local chocolate shop that I may like better, but chocolates in the US are already very pricey and that place is twice more per truffle than Beacon Hill, which is just nuts. 😅Beacon Hill also offers truffle classes (never been myself) and they have those awesome handmade boxes that can be bought (for a premium) which makes it a really really neat gift for any occasion!Highly highly recommended!
Sam Russell: Huge selection of chocolates and truffles. I was a bit surprised at how few were local chocoaltiers though :( . Friendly staff.
Sandip Patel: Delicious artisan chocolates. Bought some and shipped some to share this delicacy. And then visited again for more. This store also has varieties of chocolate bars from across the world. I also bought a Mexican hot chocolate bar made by Seattle chocolate company. It definitely had a kick of cayenne pepper. The store also sell gelato and ice in limited flavors. Not a large selection of ice cream flavors but I have to try it next time. They do serve their famous hot chocolate that I wish to try in winter. Staff was polite and assured me the chocolates shipped will be kept cold during shipping to avoid melting in this sweltering summer. If you like to gift chocolates, they have many gift options that fits many occasion and is personalizable. I definitely recommend this place. So many flavors to try, you will definitely love some.
Jose Ramirez: Nice
Elaine Smith: Good selection of chocolate
ilike3tacos 117: Best selection of luxury chocolate and speciality gifts for the holidays great for anyone
Katherine Anthony: Pretty steeply priced chocolates, but there are a lot of them! I wish the prices for all of the store items were more visible. Same for the truffles, it would have been helpful to know which ones are cheaper and which ones are more expensive. I got a hot chocolate and was pretty hesitant when I saw that they use powdered hot chocolate, but was actually very impressed! It was strong but not overpowering and served at the perfect temperature. Very cute store to go in around fall-winter time.
Neretva a: Tourist trap - better off drinking puddle water than whatever they're trying to pass off as hot chocolate. Swiss Miss is a gourmet option compared to what they're serving. The chocolates are hit and miss ... well mostly miss. It was $40 worth of disappointment. Do yourself a favor and just go to Burdick's.
Tyler: Great customer service and fun selection of chocolate. We're going to make this a must stop shop next time we come to Boston.
Youri H: One of the ladies at the store was rude. I didn’t stay any longer. I saw other reviews complaining about the employees. Still the same attitude.November 5th, at 2pm.
Miles Hicks: Wonderful little shop. Lots of great options, I highly recommend the stuffed fig.
Deborah Sampson: Stunningly beautiful chocolates. Outrageous prices
Todd B. Vick: My wife and I were in Boston last week on vacation. We were quite fortunate to discover Beacon Hill Chocolates. I purchased a box of personally selected chocolates. These were the best chocolates I've ever had, and we've bought chocolates from all over the U.S. from California to Massachusetts. I highly recommend this shop. Their customer service to top notch and their chocolates are fantastic. I'll certainly be ordering from them via their internet site for years to come.
Sheila: My mom just bought these little wedding themed boxes for my brothers wedding here. Each chocolate was an absolute DREAM. I just finished the boxes I got my hands on and now I'm planning a trip tomorrow! I can't live without now!
Yue Li: I had pistachio gelato. The best I’ve ever had, even better than the ones in Italy!

I got the dark hot chocolate 70% and it was so enjoyable. One of those drinks where each sip is to be cherished. The owner and his employee were so friendly and engaged me in conversation. I could tell they really believed and were passionate about the product. It was nice to receive a small gift also. Thank you so much and will definitely stop back especially for the hot chocolate. Place is small but quaint. They have a nice selection of nuts and let you try them before you buy.I bought the spicy chocolate almonds and cinnamon almonds and they were delicious. They sell by the pound but their prices are fair. We also bought some hot chocolates and they were really good and not super sweet. This place is definitely worth checking out if you’re a tourist in Boston like myself.
Katherine Anthony: This store smells heavenly, exactly what a chocolate store should smell like. The worker there was very nice. I had a pretty nice frozen hot chocolate. I didn't buy any chocolates, they were pricey but seemed worth the splurge.
Sebastián Franchini: Es weno 3
Mark Alcarez: Lots of options. Good for gifts any time of year.

Also, the class was BYOB and prior to the class Melissa went out of her way to give us some thoughtful recommendations. We went with her favorite Japanese beer which was so delicious I will continue to buy it. We left feeling like we could replicate our own dumplings at home and are excited to do so. HIGHLY recommend!!

His knowledge of Italian cuisine was impressive, and his ability to break down the dishes into simple steps made the class accessible to everyone, regardless of their cooking experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the hands-on experience of preparing the dishes was both fun and educational. The highlight of the class was undoubtedly the food itself. We made an array of delicious Italian dishes, including fresh homemade pastas, caprese salad, tiramisu and drank lots of wine.Overall, I would highly recommend Chef John's Italian cooking class to anyone looking to learn more about Italian cuisine or just looking for a fun and exciting culinary experience. Chef John's passion for cooking coupled with his insight on the industry made for an unforgettable experience, and I would happily give this class a five-star review.
Morgen Taylor: What a fun, educational and delicious cooking class! My sisters and I took our Mother for a birthday surprise and it was a hit! Such a fun thing to do with family and friends. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Huge shoutout to Chef Gary! And his amazing co chef. Just a lovely experience all around. I highly recommend the Italian Dinner with Tiramisu Finale in Boston class. Hoping to return again in the near future!
Peter Melchreit: Chef Dana Love gave an engaging, fun, and delicious lesson. His cooking tips cut down on my dumpling cooking by literally hours. I highly recommend him and his course for anyone looking to enhance their culinary skills.
Lisa M-N: I attended French Bistro Class last night - so fun! Not only was Chef John great at sharing his knowledge and technique of French cooking, he was able to unite our group from early on. We arrived as perfect strangers, with a simple commonality of love of food and cooking, and departed as a group who seemed to know each other for years!High quality ingredients along with the relaxed camaraderie of the evening, makes for a 5-star rating all around!
Christie Sullivan: Chef Gary and Carmen were so friendly and welcoming! They taught us so much and made it a really fun night. Can’t wait to go back!
Cat Draper: We had chef Gary and Carmen for an Italian Dinner in Boston — both of them were amazing. Super interactive, really informational and friendly. We loved the class and are planning to do a larger group again there soon.
Eric Powers: I highly recommend this company. They have an excellent website that has tons of options and makes booking classes very easy. I had to reschedule because of an unforeseen conflict, which was also quick and easy (via email). Reminder emails with instructions and directions were helpful. The classroom was well-equipped, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was great! We had Chef John P, who was fantastic! He taught and entertained about two dozen people for three hours. He provided excellent instruction while including stories and experiences from his past; he talked about the origins of ingredients, the history of dishes, ideas on how to do different variations of the dishes we were making, etc. - just an outstanding job.All in all, a great experience that is worth every penny and we will definitely be back again!

ROYCE' Chocolate Boston: what do users think?
Proddy Sukcharoen: My favorite is their chocolate-coated potato chips!
Ari Radcliffe-Greene: I'm giving this place five stars because the execution is well done. However, these chocolates all have a kind of malted flavor which I disike. I don't know whether that is common for Japan or whether it is the signature of this place, but it is not my cup of tea. I would prefer to make my own chocolates or go to Gate Comme des Filles, which I believe has the best quality chocolates in Boston. Although the owner there is eccentric.
Janak Joshi: Amazing Japanese chocolates. Incredible taste and consistency. What's the tip for during checkout?? :)
Arin Friedlander: Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate, friendly staff and even a free ice pack in the bag to keep it chilled. Highly recommend the refrigerated varieties, especially the Darjeeling.
porsche 930: Great chocolate, but extremely over priced in the US.
Emely Torres: Staff working today were so nice and very helpful!
Lina Lin: The chocolate is unique and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Louis Shinohara: Friendly Staff. Chocolate here is great! Very unique and delicious without a doubt
Changyan Wang: Very nice and they gave an extra bar for free!
Jea Kim: Japanese chocolate shop that specializes in milk chocolates.Royce chocolates have been one of my favorites chocolates ever since I tried them in Tokyo couple of years ago, and I was excited to find their store in Boston. Their soft texture is a huge differentiating factor from other generic or European chocolates, and although the prices are double what you would pay for in Japan, they were still worth getting. They still had a fence right near the entrance to limit in store shopping, so it was somewhat difficult to browse through their menu. Nevertheless, I will come back to get my favorite milk chocolates and their new flavors. If you’re a fan of soft chocolates, I recommend trying them out.
Wanlin Guo: Good service, but u can only look at their menu instead of looking at shelf right now
Sheng-Chieh Lu: Very rude staff. We could understand the current covid situation but the service was very awful. Customers are not allowed to look around and the staff doesn't want to explain more about their product either. The staff lady seems like doesn't want to spend any second with the customer, that's not the service we had in a Japanese brand shop worldwide.
Jane W: Very rude and unprofessional. Didn't expect the service from Royce. I understand it is under covid so nothing is usual. Yet the direction was unclear. It only allowed online order and pickup which on their website showed the ready time would be two days later. And they actually gonna pack your order right away. They could have just put a notice out with that QR code to explain. And the female staff was screaming all the time.
Zichang Ruan: Taking covid seriously, can't walk around the store, but you can order right behind the door
Jahnvi Shah: Is it eggless?
Abhishek Setty: Super yummy chocolate! Definitely pricey $$I would suggest this
Maggie Xiang: Had better experience here this time ..she was really helpful and they have more selection than last year
joyce: This royce has more limited option for nama chocolate was the classic ones are all there!
Yuri S: Went there three times at their business hours. NEVER OPENED.
Parker K: After being closed since the start of 2020, they're back open as of Jan 31st. The new management has already shown great changes. The store is super clean and we'll stocked. Employees are plentiful and extremely helpful. The new uniforms are sharp and the store finally has a great new makeover that matches the great quality of these chocolates!
Suri Roth-Katz: It's disappointing to plan a trip to store that says it's open only to find it closed...
