William Freedberg: Not the greatest. Two employees for the whole store, and dishonest about what is in stock. The person I spoke with didn't know the item I was asking about even existed, but after a few minutes on hold said they carried it. I came in and another store associate looked around and said they didn’t have it. I later called and got the first person I talked to, she told me to come by again and she'd find it for me. It turns out she didn't know they had it in stock but the manager had just told her they probably have it. Then she confirmed she didn’t know where it was, and had me go look myself, and of course I didn't find it. Waist of stairs.
bing yu: A chain of handmade stores, affordable, but no surprises. There are many kinds of wool, but the knitting tools are seriously out of stock.
Anna Woods: it was fine i mean it was a michaels. slightly overpriced but i blame corporate for that but it was well organized the staff was kind and the spring collection is lovely. However, the staff has changed, and the dark haired girl at the counter now is shockingly unpleasant to customers for no reason. Will be going to blicks in the future

They have lots of cool beads and a variety of styles. It's not cheap, but it's also not outrageous, so if you are into jewelry-making, and are looking for unique items to use, you'll enjoy this place. I have also only had positive experiences with the customer service too, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers are referring to, but the woman I always see there has always been very helpful and friendly! I love this place! I did show up once and they were closed during regular hours so I would recommend calling first if you're schlepping out from far away!

Caryn Uebelacker: at first I was excited to find the shop. Great area, looked clean and spacious for a small space. Two women in store were wearing masks, so I asked if I needed one and they said no. Not quite sure if they both worked there, or if one was a customer. At any rate, I was in there for at least another ten minutes with no words said to me, and no eye contact AT ALL. I started to think I should see how long it takes for the staff member to notice me, and decided I didn't want to wait any longer. BIG mistake on their part, because I am a paying customer and left (and found another store not too far away).I know customer service folks get a bad rap these days and I hesitated before posting this. I don't want to be the one who complains, but then again I don't know who was working this afternoon. If this was the owner, shame on you. If it's someone else, then the owner needs to address this.

Cassie Allen: I have absolutely no complaints about the staff, I have found them all to be very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. However, I have found the prices at this location to be quite steep. They are higher than ordering directly off of Blick’s website and it seems like every time I get something it rings up higher than the shelf price. I’m sure this is due to the downtown location, but it’s about 20% more expensive than ordering online, which is good to be aware of for budget-conscious artists out there.Edit: I have updated this review to 4 stars from 3 stars given the information on the price match from Scout. I did not give 5 stars because it did take me a while to find the information on Blick’s website and you can’t sign up online from what I can tell (at no fault of the staff at this location). The web match rebate also factors in the cost of shipping at $7.95 on purchases under $69, so it’s still in your best interest to spend more. These are all things I wish I had known before shopping here, but I will likely visit again and use this price match.

I came into the store with a list of items needed for my architecture class and little to no knowledge where to even begin.I want to give a special thank you to Hana for coming to my aid. First of all, she took the time to carefully select the appropriate items I needed and gave me recommendations on what she thought was best for me. Not only that, she answered all my questions adequately and made sure I understood what I was getting. Additionally, she even took the time out of her day to write me a list of the few items that weren’t available in the store and signed me up for a student account to which I will receive the student discount, which I was formerly not aware off.All in all, my time at Blick’s was a successful one and if I ever need to come back for anything arts related again, I will definitely be back.
