The half-inch table top I got from Boston Glass Group was beveled and had square corners that have all chipped in the first year of use. I assume this is from the vacuum cleaning hose. I don't know if rounded corners would also have chipped but definitely don't buy square cornered glass.

Peter Crossley: I purchased a picture framing business in Brookline 18 months ago and inherited the former owner's relationship with Tom Dickhudt and Boston Glass Group. Although, I already had a long-standing relationship with a mirror guy in Boston, I decided to give Tom a try. I am glad I did!Tom has proven to be a reliable, responsive business partner. He gets back to me on the same day when I request a quote. He tells me when to expect delivery and always follows through. He always delivers a quality product, and if there is a problem Tom steps right in to correct any problem. Attached is a large framed mirror project that Tom and his team helped me with. I couldn't have done it without them! These guys are the real deal!

swetal patel: We ordered a 5K glass door from them, and the logo on the door was misaligned. There was no proof prior to printing. Tom did give us a discount and we paid another 1.3K to have the glass door with aligned logo replaced. The now newly replaced glass door again had issue closing and stainless steel hardware was damaged during the door replacement process. Fortunately, Tom sent his team again the following day to fix the issue. I suggested potential buyer to ask for proof before printing on the door as it was a very expensive and time consuming process to fix. I must say Tom did try his very best to fix the problem. He did stand behind his work, and I thus gave his company a 3.5 stars, but I do believe all these issues are preventable if he only accepts PDF or TIFF files (not .ppt, as it can misalign if one opens the files with different versions of ppt and slide scale) for the logo and provides customer with proof prior to printing. Who will be happy to pay 1.3K more and undergo all these headaches to have a door installed? Tom said he will return to replace the damaged stainless steel hardware.

Howard Hoffman: I am very disappointed with the job they did on my shower. They cracked my tile and my marble threshold which I had to have repaired at my own expense. The fixed glass panel is neither aligned with the tile nor with the glass door. I am going to have to have this all redone. $2000 down the drain.

Dave Aghassi: Prestige crafted a beautiful piece of glass to top my dining room table. They were actually less expensive than their competition in Waltham. I provided the dimensions and specific instructions regarding the curve of the four corners. After I placed the order, I became concerned that the edge of the glass would be too sharp to rest arms on while eating, and they placed the order on hold for me so that I could meet with them and show them the kind of soft edge I was looking for. They reassured me that I could have my deposit refunded if I couldn't get what I wanted. When I came in, the glass maker reassured me that the kind of polished edge I was looking for was standard for them. When I picked up the glass, two guys helped me carry it to my car and helped me seat it safely across the back seat. I was so pleased when I placed it on the dining room table and saw how exact the dimensions were, how precisely they had cut the curve on the corners, and how comfortably soft the edge was. They were professional from start to finish and crafted a beautiful and perfect piece of glass for my table.

Nick Cyr: The scheduling was an absolute nightmare. The office changed the day and time which was fine, the day before installation the office called and changed the time again. The installers then called and said they got done with their emergency job earlier than expected asked if they could come in 30 mins I said fine no problem, moved my schedule around and then 45 mins later they called back and said the office had another emergency for them to do immediately. Very unprofessional I would not recommend using this company.

It was a very tricky piece of glass to replace as the door was very old and the wood surrounding it too. Very impressed!! They also replaced a glass door in a bathroom cabinet with mirrors so I won’t see the stuff inside. The cabinet looks so much better now. Linda Gennari: This is the second time my boyfriend and I have dropped off a window sash for the glass to be replaced, both times we were given a turn-around time of 2-weeks, after 3 weeks without hearing from Commonwealth Glass we called them... The first time we dropped of a window for repair it was during Covid, everything was taking longer than usually. The 2nd time, CG said the window pane arrived with the wrong measurements...it would take an additional 2-weeks to re-order. No customer service calls to inform of the delay[s]. After waiting an additional 2-weeks without hearing from CG I called again to inquire about my window...The woman who answered the phone was abrasive and dismissive in her tone...reminding me that it's takes 2-weeks, and there was a mix-up...it came in with the wrong measurements ...it was not their fault...I reminded her I was told all that over 2-weeks ago. The woman said she would check on my window and call me back, after waiting 2-days I called CG again, this time a man answered, he said he needed to check the status of my window, he would call me back in 5-minutes. I didn't hear back from him. The following day I called again and spoke with the woman, she located my window telling me she would bring it to the front of their shop to have the glass installed. The following day I received a call saying my window was ready....Same day, I picked-up my window and while the glass was nice and clean the vinyl frame was a mess with goo and black marks all over the exterior frame. [This is a sidelight window, the long vertical window that goes on either side of a front door entrance.] I picked up the window frame and asked the woman and man who were sitting behind the desk what happened to my window frame, it's a mess? I presume the woman behind the desk is the same woman I spoke with on the phone...she said, That's the way it came in, we don't do anything to the frames. I stressed the fact that this window frame with black marks and goo, on the exterior-facing-side, is a paired sidelight window, I DID NOT bring my window frame in with all these black marks and goo on it! The frame was was unsightly, I was taken aback that a professional glass company would return a window to a customer without cleaning its frame...and then to insinuate that it arrived like that! The woman was not present when I dropped off the sidelight frame to replace the pane. The man behind the counter was the person I dropped it off with, he promptly got up and said he would have it cleaned for me...while she continued telling me they are not responsible for window frames, they have nothing to do with the frames, they just insert the glass.... I waited outside while they used a solvent to remove the marks on my window frame. We own rental property in Watertown and Cambridge, I did not appreciate my experience dealing with this woman, the next time I need a window sash repaired I will look else where.

The two sales people at the counter are real veterans and know their business. A professional hassle free experience. Commonwealth is a pleasure to deal with.

C.E. Spangler: I had a great experience at first - they were very responsive and gave me a detailed quote with several options for my project. We got up to the point of placing the order, and there was an issue with my credit card. Then the person I had spoken to several times so far, over phone and email, suddenly stopped communicating. I offered to pay by another method, and asked if they could try running the card again, and no response. My calls also went unanswered - I was given no way to get through or to leave a message. I don't think this is an appropriate way to treat any customer, even if their card is having a temporary problem. I ended up having to take my business elsewhere, after spending several days trying to get in touch with no success. Very disappointed.
