Darren A.: I struggled for years to find dress shirts that fit me properly off the rack. I tried several of the online "made to measure" brands out there with very unsatisfactory results. I decided to give Sordillo's custom-made shirts a try. Carmine took my measurements, showed me fabric options, recommended the right collar and other trim options, and promised a perfectly fit shirt. He delivered! He nailed the fit on the first try, and the fabric and workmanship are simply beautiful. Carmine is an old-world craftsman who knows what he is doing. He clearly loves his work and cares about his customers' satisfaction. If you don't appreciate the concept of "su misura," then Sordillos might not be for you, but if you want the look that only bespoke tailoring can deliver, at a fair and reasonable price, then I would definitely recommend Sordillos.

The very experienced and friendly Carmine not only found a perfect fit but he also adjusted the older suit overnight. Nice craftsmanship and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Teresa Daye: Did not get to experience the work because I could not get past the rude phone call. Here from out of town, and called to ask about cost for altering an item. Reply was rude, admonishing, "I don't know what kind of dress it is!" While that is so true, the tone was nasty and harsh.

Brian Wang: When it comes to alterations, Sordillo is awesome; superior service and a keen eye for details. People entrust him with $$$$ suits, so do I [though mine aren't nearly that expensive]. Adjusting sleeves with functional button holes? No problem. Adding functional button holes to your suit? No problem. Tight deadline? No problem.I've yet to commission a custom-made suit, but when I do, I'm going to him. There's a vast selection of fabrics, including Loro Piana. The new location is on ground-level as opposed to his basement location on Boylston St.

Devin Fauteux: Our initial experience here was very nice, but we returned for a fitting and the store was locked. 15 minutes later we returned, the manager had shown up and was already helping another customer. He was rude and condescending to us about his own being late, and did not even address us until we had been standing in the store for another 5 minutes, without any apology or even being cognizant that there was an 11 am appointment.

Kavon Karrobi: Hands down THE BEST clothing experience I've ever had! It was truly a pleasure and a joy meeting Phillip and working with Phillip on my custom suit for my wedding. Phillip was phenomenal to work with and helped me look my absolutely very best for my wedding. In-person and email communication was excellent and timely throughout the entire process from start to finish. I started working with Phillip 7 weeks before my wedding, my custom suit then came in 4 weeks before the big day to try on and do any final tailoring, and then I had my finalized custom suit ready for pick-up 2 weeks before my wedding day. Hive & Colony go over every detail when it comes to designing your suit, and while it may seem overwhelming, they really guide you through the process and make it simple, easy, and smooth for you. As someone who barely knew anything about what goes into a custom suit, Phillip really made the selection and designing process enjoyable and educational, and I came away from that experience feeling comfortable and confident about my wedding suit and any custom suit I do in the future. I will definitely be coming back to Hive & Colony for any future custom suit I do and very much look forward to hopefully working with Phillip again when that time comes. Kyle Thelemann: I went to Hive & Colony in a scramble as my suit supplier cancelled my vest about 4 weeks before my wedding (thankfully not my full suit), so I went into the Copley store with hoping they could help. Geordan studied my suit material and construction and came up with a perfect match that rounded out the look I was going for. From measurements to final fitting took less than 3 weeks and was perfect timing for my wedding.Furthermore, during my final fitting, Phillip went above and beyond to make sure I had a great customer experience by giving me style advice on and even went so far as to give me his own personal pocket square because it was a perfect match. I got a ton of compliments on my suit and Hive & Colony gets a lot of credit for helping me put it all together.I was blown away by the customer service and communication from Geordan and Phillip especially since I only spent a fraction of my suit budget with them. I should have picked them from the start to do the full suit. Lesson learned for next time.

Richard Feindel: Daryn and the 9Tailors team went the extra mile to make sure I had a well tailored suit and shirt for my wedding. Pricey, but fabric quality and full canvas construction are excellent. 10/10 - would highly recommend 9Tailors for a groom who needs a perfect fit.

I'm a trans man, and haven't had a lot of experience with formal wear, but the lovely employee(s) at 9 Tailors (shout out to Olivia) made me feel welcomed, supported, and confident in my suit and shirt choices. There's ample sitting room to wait and the staff is highly knowledgeable of their craft. Expect to get fitted here-this is not a place to shop & browse necessarily. Highly recommended!

Jason Morris: Darren at 9Tailors was awesome to work with - it was such a great experience to be able to design my wedding suit from the ground up, while somehow still being incredibly affordable. We were able to put together a unique but tasteful suite that ended up fitting perfectly. There were some quality issues with the first order of the suit but 9Tailors were able to get a new suit ordered and adjusted quickly with plenty of time to spare. The end product was perfect and I received so many compliments on the day of my wedding.
Ben Hart: 9Tailor is great! They were attentive during my planning and measurement session, providing excellent guidance and feedback. They were matter of fact with my fabric selection and did not push to drive me to a more expensive option. Just helped me to chose the best fabric for my needs.There was a hiccup in my order in that the suit came in the wrong color (blue vs grey as ordered), but it ended fantastically. The blue suit looked utterly amazing and they offered to make the grey suit at half price to make up for their mistake. Their focus on my experience will bring me back for years to come! Next year, I'm going purple!

I have also come in to browse their End of season sales and worked with them on a french cuff shirt. All of my experiences have been positive.Regarding my most recent appointment, I worked with Samantha on a rush order. She helped me via a virtual appointment to confirm that my measurements on file were the same. They were able to action the item before my deadline including small alterations to the fit of the jacket and pants.I certainly recommend and will be using them again in the future. Hopefully my next appointment will be in person so I can enjoy the swanky office space!

Mike DiRico: 9Tailors has become my go-to for when I want to look my best and I cannot recommend it enough. There is nothing like having clothing specifically tailored to you. Sam and her team are as good as it gets, they take the time to understand exactly what you want, over a glass of whiskey if you like. Even better is the honest advice. Sometimes its hard to tell what a color or pattern will look like from a swatch and the 9Tailor team is expert at finding the right look. Even at times steering me away from something I was looking at that wouldn’t have been good for me. That kind of honest advice is greatly appreciated. I've always made-do with clothes off the rack, which has worked fairly well until I was looking for something sharp to wear to my own wedding.I went to 9 Tailors after they were recommended by a friend. I went in with no knowledge of bespoke clothing, and wasn't sure I'd make it past the sticker shock of the price of a custom suit. Sam was very patient (she even asked for my pronouns, which was a welcome surprise). She could tell I was very hesitant about the money, but assured me that 9 Tailors would work with me to create something I'd love, and if not, I'd be able to get my money back. In the time it took for me to decide to go ahead or not, I asked Sam a few questions about how 9 Tailors came to be, and who they work with to produce the garments. It was after this conversation that I decided that I did want to make the investment, and support Sam and her business. It's important to me to shop small & local when I can, and it's a plus that I get to support a minority-owned and woman-owned business.The process itself was fairly easy to go through. Sam took a bunch of measurements for my 3 piece suit and we looked at different fabric, cut, and button options. She allowed me to pick what I liked, and offered suggestions to help. She let me know it would be about 6 weeks until I'd hear back. When the suit was ready, she had me return to the store to try things on, so that we could see what alternations were needed. I also added a custom shirt to the order. At my final fitting, I went to try everything on and noticed that the shirt had a snag through it. Sam confirmed this and let me know she would rectify the situation and make sure I had a defect free shirt to wear for my special day.In the end, I had a great custom suit for my beach wedding and felt super happy about my decision the day of. If you have the ability/opportunity to work with Sam on custom clothing, I'd highly recommend her and 9 Tailors.

Andrew Creamer: I ordered a tux from Blank Label that was supposed to arrive about 1.5 months before my wedding. Around the time that my tux was supposed to arrive, they sent me an email saying that the order would be delayed by over a month -- potentially not arriving in time for my wedding. When I tried to follow up with additional questions, they were unresponsive, and it was impossible to reach them over the phone (despite many calls). I will not be using them again, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
Emily Fishman: I have been buying shirts here for several years and my partner and I decided to splurge on 3 piece suits for our wedding. Kaitlyn's knowledge and advice about how to make things fit perfectly was clearly a strength and communicating about each step of the process could not have been easier. We looked great and more importantly, felt great. It's not easy as a menswear company to make two genderqueer, fat people comfortable-- but Blank Label was up to the task and exceeded expectations all for a very reasonable price given the product.If you're not a cisgender man, they might need to remake the suits (which they are happy to do!) but it might be a good idea to give it more lead time than their usual 6-8 weeks.

I had bought suits off the racks for years but knew I could do better.Michael, Lindsay, and frankly the entire team were stellar in their communication, fittings, and their want to ensure I felt comfortable and confident in every.single. garment I bought. The prices, while more than a country boy like me is used to spending, were more than reasonable for the quality, fit, and customer service I experienced. I have since bought a few more shirts and another suit. This will be my go-to formal and work-style spot for clothes. I'm actively asking friends with sub-par suits to go for a fitting by saying "I know a place!"Do it. Pull the trigger. You won't be dissatisfied.

He will drive to your house/apartment in Atlanta (if that's what you want - you can also meet him at the Blank Label office), he brings plenty of fabrics samples for you to evaluate, and he is available to answer questions. He really cares about helping make garment(s) that best fit you and will take the time to answer any question or concerns you may have. He has been in this business for awhile, so he has plenty of experience and knowledge, but yet he is also very personable. He always made me feel like a valued client even though he clearly had much wealthier clients who spent much more money than I did. Finally, he is honest about what to expect, even if it's not what you want to hear. I highly recommend contacting Blank Label in Atlanta if you are considering custom clothing for suits, dress shirts, etc.

A firm handshake, friendly smile, and glass of bourbon later, I'm hooked and engaged, taking in their thoughtful suggestions and throwing caution to the wind with my mohair wool blended bright blue suit, with light pink lining.Flash forward four weeks later, and I'm back again, bourbon in hand, staring at the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my entire life; me. While the suit doesn't maketh the man, this particular outfit had me feeling like a king, and the courteous staff were eager to help inflate my already ballooning sense of self-worth!From start to finish, a fantastic experience. Be warned though, for you will never again be able to enjoy an off-the-rack suit again after getting your garments at this incredible establishment!

Nicholas Stamoulos: The staff especially Leo were very accommodating to my schedule. The initial visit was thorough and the Avatar from their High Tech Machine seems very accurate. The fit of the suit was great aside from needing to shave off a piece of 1 shoulder pad-I have odd shaped sloped shoulders. The fit was pretty impressive and accurate compared to modifications I've had to make from services of two other in town made-to-measure vendors.
Martin Connolly: I've been to Alton Lane a few times now for shirts and a suit, and it's been a fabulous experience every single time. Victoria and the staff there treat you extremely well. The atmosphere is great, and the customer service is terrific. All my shirts have come on time and fit perfectly. My suit needed a minor alteration that was completed in one week and now it fits and looks great. I would recommend Alton Lane to anyone looking for a unique custom clothing experience.
Robert Zeuli: Anyone who wears a suit every day knows the importance of custom clothes. Alton Lane does a great job at making you feel at home and keeping their clients on a first name basis. I bought my first shirt in March 2017 and since then have customized multiple garments. I wear an Alton Lane piece almost exclusively every day and would never go back to a department store. For the young professionals reading this don't shy away from custom clothes because you feel like it may be expensive. It is an investment in yourself as a brand and will last you 4x longer than anything else you can buy. Plus it's designed by you, for you ONLY.

Amidst changes in suppliers and a great deal of confusion, which was all out of the control of my representative Victoria Perez, she still managed to rush order my Suit and have it in just in time for the event I planned to wear it to. Victoria kept in touch with me throughout the entire process, even to the extent of texting me when the Fed Ex delivery truck pulled up on Newbury Street. She did a great job making what could have been a very frustrating circumstance as seamless and efficient as possible for me. In terms of quality and fit I could not be happier. Every time I wear my suit, people go out of their way to compliment or tell me how much they like the suit. All the shirts fit perfectly as well. The environment of the store is very unique and comfortable. Its the perfect combination of service, relaxation coupled with great advice and an awesome selection of clothing. I will definitely be back to add to my collection of Alton Lane Attire.

The environment of the place is awesome. You get a nice view of Newburry street while enjoying a cocktail at there in house bar while looking at fabrics. I called customer service and told them my plan, they made sure he had his favorite bourbon (Blantons) there so he could enjoy it . Samuel Wong: The service at the shop is impressive and they give you the impression that they know what they are doing. Alton Lane brags about offering a premium product but they are a load of crap. They surely do charge premium prices which are not warranted judging by the quality of service. The suit takes 8 weeks to make. A couple days after I went to get measured for a $2300 suit, I asked for them to change my extra pants order but that I still wanted the suit. They said that they couldnt do it and that all orders are final. After some nonsensical discussion they said the best they could do was give me a 75% refund for the extra pants. I am now stuck with the fury of having about $300 thrown in the trash and am awaiting a suit that will remind me of the mistake I made 2 months ago. All I wanted was store credit for the extra pants as I intended to buy another suit.I should also mention that I sent 2 emails to customer service about this issue, only to be ignored. A few minutes before my first email I asked for an invoice from the same email address and got a response within the day. They seem to be intentionally ignoring customer requests.This place has great reviews which is why I bought from them in the first place, but they are clearly not interested in pleasing their customers. It should take more than a glass of scotch and sportscenter to convince you to buy a $2000+ suit.

Zachary Hastings: Never again! I have never experienced a more unprofessional, rude, flaky, forgetful business owner in my entire life.We brought in seven suits to be tailored for a wedding. Gave him a date we needed them by and he assured us they would be ready (more than three weeks out). I called him that morning and he told me they were finished and I could pick them up that afternoon. I stop in after work and he hasn’t even started them. They are still sitting on the same rack where we left them 25 days earlier. He assured me they would still be done by the next day (three days before the wedding). I stop in two days later and he isn’t even halfway done.When all was said and done, I had to delay my departure until the morning of the wedding and the suits still weren’t pressed. They stink like cigars and he overcharged us by over $600 compared with what was quoted.He might do good work, but there are plenty of other tailors in Boston who do good work and won’t rip you off and can actually meet a deadline.Stay as far away from this guy as you can!Service:Alterations

Paul Petronello: I had a fantastic experience at Gregory’s. I was traveling from New York to Boston on a Saturday for a wedding that evening. Realized that my suit pants were incorrectly hemmed. Thought it was insanely low probability that I would be able to get a same day tailor especially without a preexisting relationship. Decided to search around and make some calls and that’s how I found Gregory’s. I arrived at the store around 2:45 Saturday, he took my measurements and advised me to both hem and taper the leg for a cleaner look. He then let me leave my luggage at his shop and gave me a lunch recommendation around the corner. I came back around 3:30 and the pants were done and absolutely perfect. Best tailoring experience I’ve had in my life. Still can’t believe I was able to get it done same day before a wedding. He is a master of his craft and a really nice guy to work with. Jessi L: Gregory seems to be a very nice guy. However, back in September, he provided one price for 4 dresses then charged us a higher price at the end. Made my friend and I go there three times to pick up the dresses and they were not ready. Each time we had to sit and watch him work on our dresses while he said "5 more minutes" or "why don't you come back tomorrow, promise you that they will be ready". For all the wait time we did, unfortunately he still rushed the job and the dresses were longer than they should have been. It was only him back then, so may be he was understaffed. It was not the great experience we were hoping as per his positive reviews. If you are in a rush, do not go there!

Lorelei Meuse: Bishman Blanchard is a talented, kind, and knowledgeable help. The first salesperson we spoke with encouraged us to leave, hence the missing star, however Bishman was able to turn this appointment back around and into the experience I originally dreamed of and deserved when looking for a suit. He helped me find a material that was perfect for my style and event and ensured I was comfortable during the entire experience. We wish they were all like Bishman!!

Drew Erskine: Back in August 2022 I want to This Boston location for a suit for my wedding. The process started well be ended horribly. We I received my suit, the packaging was damaged and essentially crushed. when I went to try on my suit for the first time I couldn't even put the jacket on it was too tight. I reached out to the tailor and ended up driving 2hrs to Boston to get it tailored. upon arrival there was no tailor in the show room (even when I scheduled an appointment to meet with one.). I ended up dropping off my suit hoping that it would be fixed fully knowing nothing could be fixed if it was too small.That's exactly what happened. They sent me back my suit with no alterations done and told me it was fixed. I used the customer service online to try and get a refund but to no avail. Instead I received an instore credit which was no help at all. All I want is to be refunded my $500 since you messed up my order TWICE. The customer service is atrocious and I have no confidence in their work. Nor do I recommend going to Indochino, spend a few more dollars and go to a local shop. Better yet go to suit supply down the road.
Edward Kong: I've had mixed experiences with this place. My first made-to-measure suit was done at this location years ago, and it's served me well for a number of years. But the last time I got a re-measurement and 3 shirts done, the shirts came back with *very* short sleeves (the rest of the fit was too tight as well). Typically shirt sleeves are supposed to show a bit past the jacket, but these were a good 1" too short. The 10-day alterations window is really impossible for most, and short sleeves are not alterable anyway.My advice to anyone reading this: call Indochino ASAP to work something out. They may be able to re-make garments that are un-alterable. Apparently, they've recently changed their management and the current (unspoken) policy is 30 days. I really wish I had known this sooner... That said, I do see why their advertised policy of 10 days -- this likely saves them a lot of money on alteration costs...Personally, I will be going elsewhere from now on, but hopefully this helps someone. I think there's still value in this place and I hope measurements & customer service have improved under current management.

So, are we supposed to buy it without even knowing if a fit or regular style is more flattering, for example? Absolutely disappointing experience.

I got fitted for a suite by Dengi who was very knowledgeable about the fabrics and style choices. It was almost perfect so I scheduled a final look and got one more alteration done.

It takes a while for things to show up when they are custom made but it is worth the weight because they fit perfectly fit perfectly even when you gain or lose a little bit of weight they still fit perfectly Ari knows my taste and always brings samples of things that I didn't think that I needed but it turns out that I do.

Scott Tromanhauser: I couldn't ask for better service. I've been using TJ for 10 years, more so in the last 5. My rep, Ari Gray, is the best! Can't say enough good about him. he provides great advise every time. If you have a body habitus that is anything other than male model-like, you definitely should consider TJ to get you into better fitting clothes. Stop trying to buy off the shelf. My guess is you will spend less or not much more in the long run. They will also alter things if you grow or shrink (I've done both!) If you are a professional, or just trying to make good impressions, well-fitting clothes make a big difference. You will not get that from a catalog or a department store, and generally from a small men's store. They simply alter something that is close. Why not get something that is fit perfectly for you?

valter fernandes: I often wonder why this man treated me so poorly,payed arm and leg for a suit that came with a stain on it.He never picked up any of my calls after a payed for my suit. I sent my groomsmen over to get suits from him and he literally didn't get a suit for the best man until 3 days before the wedding.... I would dodge this one if you can. you don't believe me? Try giving him a call and leave a voicemail.
