Danielle Betz: All the bouncers are on a major power trip, turned a lot of people away. Kept asking everyone how much they had to drink including myself. End of the night they literally pushed people out of the venue and scream at people who are waiting for Ubers to leave. Ive never had another venue yell at people for standing outside.Cons: no ac, bouncers and security suck, overpriced drinks and 2 drink minimum for credit cardsPros: venue looks nice and good sound quality

Cohavit Gil: It sucks to have to write a negative review on this place bc I’ve seen some cool shows here and I’ve had fun here. But as another reviewer mentioned, the line to get in to MEDUZA on 3/31 was atrocious. I get management wanting to keep a line outside to make it look ‘popular’ or whatever, but this was excessive. Or maybe the management team is simply inexperienced (they recently made a ton of new hires) and they were understaffed and underprepared for a sold out show. Whatever the reason, we spent longer outside waiting than inside seeing the show! Even MEDUZA said something about the line when the dude got on stage. Not cool, Royale!
Holly Reyes: Royale is so nice, I went for my first time to see Jukebox The Ghost and was very pleased . Plenty of parking in the area. Park at tufts and it's right across the street. Staff was really nice.
Cindy: I haven't had such a bad experience until tonight (Friday, 3/31/2023). We waited in line in freezing light rain for over an hour to get inside which was at 12:20am. We had $40 pre-purchased tickets. And at one point while waiting in line, there was a very rude power-tripping security guy telling us to make way for the entrance doorway to which seemed like an apartment. A girl and her friend who have been waiting in line behind me with her friends left the line for a minute. The same security guy told them they can't "cut" the line when they weren't. He said he didn't see them leave the line so it didn"t matter. A guy not from the group said she and her friend had waited in line for a while, too. But he didn't take that info. One of the girl's friends tried telling the security guy the two had waited, but the guy threatened the friend about not getting back in the line instead. So the girl and her friend couldn't get back in line. Ridiculous power-tripping going on that night with that one security guy. He was disgusting.The dj was great and the drinks were good though.
Brian Nguyen: What a great venue. Two stories, multiple bars, multiple dj locations. Looks tiny when entering, can easily miss the entrance sign.
Shon Baranov: First time in a night club in my life and it was the best experience ever. Staff was very nice and helpful of any people that couldn't control themselves. I came twice to the nightclub. Friday night for the discord event and Saturday night for PAX appreciation party hosted by the Royale. Bouncer or security that was standing near the washrooms was very friendly and the females working at the coat check were the best. I would recommend this night club for your events and with great DJs playing great music.
Lily Freyer: Usually have a good time here, asked for a cup of water and the bartender got upset with me and took a dirty cup someone had brought up to the bar and filled it with water and tried to give it to me. Not sure why she was so upset as I was purchasing actual drinks at the same time. Gross AF

Jacqueline Rounds: I had just left royale and was finding an Uber home. I was alone, as a woman, waiting for the car to pick me up. I was asked to leave the area and I graciously explained that as I woman I do not feel comfortable leaving the spot I was in because it’s very unsafe, especially the area I was in. The security guard told me that he does not care about that and that I have to leave the area nonetheless. I understand the circumstances but one woman standing alone waiting for an Uber is not a problem and to neglect my own saftey is a real problem with clubs like this. I was once roofied here as well. I thought that things have changed but apparently they have not. Do better.

They also didn’t direct crowd surfers so people where just lost at the front of the stage. They weren’t wearing uniforms so I honestly had no clue if they even HAD security. Very disappointing :/

It is mostly crowded, but people inside are correct, I would say.Unfortunately, it is not that easy to get a drink since there is a long queue which can take 10–15 minutes until you can finally order your drink.The good point is that there are several security agents who are helping you if needed.3 stars that could be 4 stars without the queue for alcohol.

Erin Rauch: The place is great! Staff is welcoming and friendly. Big enough for lots of people but didn’t feel overly crowded. My only complaint is that when were were leaving, my husband and son had nice big cups of ice water with them that they were given at the concessions, which was nice to have after being in a slightly crowded room cheering and singing along to the music. The first person at the exit said as long as it was just water it was fine to bring them. The lady we saw next just grabbed them from my husband and son and said we couldn’t have them. Didn’t even give us a chance to say anything. Really rubbed us the wrong way as it could have been handled much better. We’ll only be back if it’s an epic show.

The manager was extremely disrespectful when he came over to our table holding my ID in his hand after our waitress carded my friends & I after we placed our drink order. He had bent my license almost completely in half, claiming that “other licenses don’t do this” and “they aren’t supposed to bend this much.” He had to forcefully bend my license an extreme amount, just to try to prove some kind of point. To me, this was completely uncalled for. I’m 25 years old and was dressed very conservatively. By no means do I look like an underaged teen trying to use a fake ID. Now, I’m going to have to go out of my way & pay money out of my pocket to fix my license due to the idiotic actions caused by the manager. On top of that, both himself & the waitress did not offer any sort of compensation whatsoever. No sense of sympathy. 0/10 will not be coming back here.

Alex C: This is one of the best places to catch metal/hardcore/punk shows. In fact it's one of the only places, too, so I cherish this establishment and the many venues it hosts. I've seen so many good bands here. The bar is reasonably priced and has a good enough selection. It's not exactly the cleanest place ever, and someone standing near me at the last show ripped a fart and their diet must consist of nothing but pepperoni, otherwise I'd give the atmosphere 5 stars.

Alisha Wilton: Visited for a band one night, was impressed by the great staff here.Venue itself is a reasonable size for what it is, plenty of room to stand about with a drink in the bar area, and a reasonable amount of room near the stage. Limited seating.Drink prices are what you would expect, with the drinks on tap ranging from £7 to £8.50, not my favourite selection of tap drinks, but they're workable. Bartender was friendly.The venue regularly hosts live bands (tickets required), most of which are good, of not a bit obscure. The staff have the entry process down to a fine art, dealing with the line of people quickly and effectively.Bands have a spot near the entrance to sell their merchandise.A fight happened to break about during the music, and it was dealt with quickly and fairly.Over-all a good experience, I'd recommend this place if a band you like is playing.My only complaint about this place is the grubby toilets.

Olivia L Hulme: To say that I am disappointed in my experience with A Tent for Rent is an understatement. AJ and his team came recommended as a 'preferred vendor' of my venue, given their extensive prior experience tenting weddings there. I signed a contract in March 2021 and was thrilled to have secured a beautiful sailcloth tent for our wedding. One year later, I received a new contract to sign with a 34% price increase over our original contract, with AJ citing an "off hours installation fee" required for our venue, despite him having worked there numerous times and this never having been charged previously. Left without any options, and only three months out from our wedding, I was forced to sign a new contract, and AJ refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. One week prior to the wedding, I received yet another contract to sign, as numerous permit fees, catering tent costs, and generator fees had been left off the second contract. The dishonesty, disorganization, and lack of professionalism couldn't be more glaring. Unless you want to end up paying double your originally agreed upon price, run, don't walk, away from AJ and A Tent for Rent.

We rented a 40x60 pole tent along with a catering tent, tables, chairs, and linens. The bistro lighting in the tent was gorgeous! Liz was so easy to work with, she answered all of my (many) questions promptly, worked easily with my event planner, and offered helpful solutions for what we needed. The installation team was incredible, installing our tent in the pouring rain and doing so with a smile on their faces! Thank you for helping us to have the wedding of our dreams!

I recently used them for my wedding venue (my backyard) and as a covid bride I was afraid my wedding would look like a graduation and let me tell you, this tent was absolutely beautiful.10 days prior to my wedding, I hit a little snag with weather. Of course it was going to rain the day of my wedding, but thankfully Atent for Rent was so incredibly accommodating and put my mind at ease. They allowed me to upgrade my tent from a 40 x 60 to a 40 x 80 and after planning a wedding in a pandemic i can honestly tell you there are a lot of vendors in this industry that would look at you and say tough. But not them! I cried on the phone with joy that my wedding would be able to go on without a hitch!We got a clear top tent, and they exceeded my expectations. Debra Nelson: Working with Atent for Rent was one of the easiest parts of our wedding planning. We worked with Alisha and she was so helpful and responsive to all of our questions and concerns. We had a heartbreaking issue arise with another vendor 4 days prior to the wedding and Alisha was a lifesaver. She even reached out to other companies that they work with to get us the items that we needed. More specifically, the morning of the delivery I changed the color of a specific linen and she personally went out before the truck left and informed them of the change. Atent for Rent is an excellent company; they arrived on time for both set up and take down, they quickly updated our order following many changes, and provided suggestions for tent set up, etc., as needed. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone, in fact, I can definitely see myself working with them again in the future. I would also highly recommend their clear top tent. It was a huge hit and looks absolutely beautiful at night with the bistro lights!

Bill Dittrich: Long established local rental company. Just moved to a new location in Dedham not really very far from old West Roxbury store. I rent mostly heavy duty lawn equipment and other tools too expensive to buy for one time or occasional use. I also see lots of wedding or other party things: dishes, glassware, silverware, etc. Fair prices, nice, helpful people.

I have to give a special shout out to Brian for helping me get my garden ready for my plants. As always, Brian is the ultimate professional. If he doesn't have an item, he'll refer you to someone that does. I was able to rent a Tiller on really, really short notice. I called 1st thing this morning and all they had was a small one, which is what I needed. Brian reserved me a P/U time and his co-worker gave me a quick tutorial on how to work the machine when I arrived...It took me less than 4 hrs to get my garden ready and I couldn't have done it without Brian's help...Please come down and support your local businesses...

Ordering process over the phone was very straightforward and clear, the quote came with a clear breakdown, arrangements for a 4th floor walkup delivery were made with no problems. We had to make a few additions to our order, which were easily done over the phone.Delivery was made within the pre-arranged window. The crew were efficient and professional, and did a very good job maneuvering tables up a narrow staircase. Dinnerware and linens were spotless, and came in very well-organized containers for ease of return. We were one knife short, but everything else was exactly as we had ordered.Collection was again within the pre-arranged time - and on a Sunday! They were very efficient at getting the items out, and were pleasant to work with.Very highly recommended. We will definitely be using them again.

Panos G: They worked with us! I have rented fr them in yrs past with out a problem. Last Fri i rented a pwr washer for my contractors. The contractor was very upset that the pwr washer didint function to his expectations. We returned the eqpt and the contractor spoke to them and they refunded the rental fee in full. I will be doing more business with them.
