Matthew Hodges: Geoff and his crew did a fantastic job installing our new sprinkler system in our large, mature yard with numerous flower beds, rose gardens and moss garden. From the beginning, the Autowater Team showed a strong desire to install a system that met our needs in a smart manner that ensured we would not be wasting water. They put a great deal of thought into the best way to structure and layout our system. Our yard presented a number of challenges, but the team showed strong persistence - we have a large driveway with an extra deep footing that was a challenge to get under, but with a great deal of effort, they succeeded (where others may have taken an easier, but more damaging to the driveway route). They also did a great job getting the yard put back together after all of the work and helping with any questions we had programming the new system. We had used Autowater at our previous house to turn the system on and off at the start and end of each season as well - they always did a great job with that work as well. Ariane Breitenbach-Frank: I highly recommend Autowater Irrigation. They just finished the installation of a 4-zone drip hose system with a wireless connector, that includes 4 raised beds. I could not been happier with the job they have done. At the beginning Geoff (the owner of this family business in the second generation) came out to take detailed pictures and delivered a detailed and very competitive quote within days. A few days after I signed the contract the outside plumbing was scheduled and finished in a day. On the day of the installation (also done within a day) Geoff again explained the entire process for the day, where they will have to dig trenches, confirming placement of valve boxes and timer, etc. The team arrived on time, was neat and very nice, and left the yard in a great condition. Chris (the Project Manager) gave me a final run through, explained different zones, how to use the app, and left me with the assurance, that if I had any questions or concerns, that someone I can count their customer service to take care of it right way.

Eric Lee: Great company to work with. Responsive and the install team was highly knowledgeable, and VERY neat. They showed up when they said they would for both the estimate and the actual work day. They integrated about 6 drip zones on top of an existing lawn irrigation system taking into consideration, sun exposure, slope, etc. They did a great job and I would highly recommend you consider them for your property.

David Cantrell: Over the course of about 3 years, my wife and I were discussing completely redoing the landscaping around our house. When we moved in, the lawn was in bad shape. This was not a surprise and just something to take care of. I began asking for quotes from different landscaping companies. All of them suggested getting an irrigation system as well as a new lawn, which surprised me. I did some more research because if we were going to spend that much on a new lawn, I didn't want it to die. Each landscaper had their own recommendation for an irrigation company. Some worked directly with a subcontractor and included it in their cost proposal. After selecting, I needed to select an irrigation company. Autowater was recommended by one company and I found the site online. The examples of their work looked good, so I asked for a quote. Geoff called and we scheduled a time. The first visit, Geoff pointed out that our water service line was still original and suggested we contact the city about a replacement. Not wanting a lead service line, I paused the landscaping work and had that taken care of. Geoff made zero money on that, but recommended it for safety. The home inspector didn't even point that out. Throughout the entire estimation process, Geoff explained everything in detail and what the options were. Autowater was extremely accommodating with regards to scheduling and making sure the work was done in the right order with the landscaping work. They walked us through the timer system and how to control the stations and change settings. They warrant the installation for a year. We have stayed with Autowater for the annual winterization and spring activation as well. If you're considering a new lawn, get an irrigation system. Grass needs a ton of water. And having it automatically managed is great. Autowater does fantastic work. And it's not just sprinkler heads. They also do drip lines for shrubs and flowers. Highly recommended. If I had a second house and needed a lawn, I'd call Autowater for irrigation.

ANIMALS ARE LOVING: Horrible experience. They are dishonest. Never answer the phone. Once they know your phone number and you find a problem with their work, they will not pickup on purpose. I have been waiting over a year for them to come repair the sprinkler system. They never set it up right a while ago. The people they use to install the systems have no idea what they’re doing and set our sprinkler up to the wrong house. Then they came back realizing that we need a different meter for sprinklers vs water meter. Very unprofessional only way to get your stuff back from these people and have the job done right is to have the law require them to do it. Sprinklers all popped out of the ground too. MJ: I just fired Lucas Irrigation, we used them for over 6 years with really mix results, but this year was just over the top. They charge more than then most company and their service is poor. They also use my credit card on file to pay some invoices without my approval first; I did not want to pay because I did not believe we should have been charged twice for starting the system which ended up being over 200$ and was not set the way we wanted to . Totally unethical and really not happy with their services.

Vincent Wood: Last winter we had Lucas Irrigation perform the winterization of our irrigation system. When I turned on the system this spring, water was spewing out from one of the water pipes and there was a gaping hole in the pipe. We initially had a plumber assess the damage and he actually told us to reach out to the irrigation company who winterized the system because without a doubt the system was not winterized properly. We wasted our time reaching out to Lucas Irrigation about the issue. The service technician that arrived already had the demeanor of not taking responsibility for the shoddy service. He even commented on some shoddy work that Lucas Irrigation had done previously but denied that it was his company that performed the work. They denied responsibility for the faulty work performed last winter and blamed it on an internal plumbing issue. The technician pointed to water sitting in the pipe as evidence but that water was present from the time I tried to turn on the system. This review pertains their driving behavior.This morning (05/11 8:10am), their driving technician merged in the far right lane of I-90 east at the point where cars merge to get in the highway and almost caused me to ram the highway wall.Upon alerting the driver audibly (horn), instead of correcting his mistake, he swerved the service truck sharper towards me.Causing me to brake real hard to avoid a collision and almost get rear ended. To me that screams road rage and insurance fraud. I left my number for the owner to call me, to no avail.

Gaurav Singal: One of the most dishonest companies I’ve ever worked with. They improperly winterized my system twice. The first time I had the burst pipe replaced by another plumber at my own expense. The second time they tried to blame it on me for “turning the system on too early.” After numerous requests to have them explain how exactly turning the system in April could result in a 2 inch tear in a copper pipe, they finally admitted it was their mistake and agreed to fix it at no charge. I subsequently received a bill for $400 for the repair, which I assumed was a mistake and emailed them to retract. They never responded, but two weeks later, without informing me or obtaining my consent, charged my credit card which they had on file the full amount. In decades of service relationships I have never met any company that behaved so dishonestly and with so little respect for their customers. Please avoid them at all costs, for your own sanity if nothing else.

When the system was turned on this past spring, we were not told about any problems, come to find that the system was noted to have low pressure and grass was dying. Dan Cahan: I do not recommend working with this company.I received quotes from 5 companies and Berardi had the most competitive price on what seemed like similar system designs. When it came time to install the system, it became apparent that the sprinkler layout would not match what we had discussed. My lawn is an irregular shape, with varied amounts of sun and shade, therefore requiring different amounts of irrigation in different places. There are also some plantings for which we discussed specific considerations.The owner asked for additional money to install a system that would do what we had discussed and also told the foreman that I would have to pay in full before the crew was to leave. Whether the owner did a bad job making the original quote or if it was a bait and switch, I don't know. I had them to pack up their equipment and leave. I had another company do the install with a much better design at a similar price. It was clear Berardi was working to use a specific number of valves and heads, while the other company looked at the lawn, zoned it appropriately, and installed the needed equipment.
