Gourmet Dumpling House: what do users think?
Mike Gioia: Very good! Best I have had in New England so far.
3220 えいち: 美味しかったです。いつも30人くらい並んでいますが並ぶ価値あります。
Jungmin Lee: So many Bostonians who have NOT been to Asia (recently, or ever) sing praises of the dumplings here. To be honest, the XLB (soup dumplings) here are an epitome of horrible quality and craftsmanship: uneven, inconsistent, thick folds; grey skin that is way too thick and heavy and doughy; greasy insides that give you acid reflux. Even a home cook, much less a chef who makes a living by selling food, would be ashamed putting this food on the table in Asia. And the other dishes - they are quantity over quality. Greasy, gooey, heavy, gross, but sure you get a gallon of it. Just no.
Ju: Gourmet Dumpling Home, not Gourmet Dumpling House. Gourmet Dumpling House is truly a home 💜 thank you Gourmet Dumpling House for serving the Boston community for so many years. The soup dumplings are incredible and the food comes out so quickly and fast. It’s been a honor to try your food! Thank you for everything Gourmet Dumpling House
Jack The Cat: So incredibly sad that this place is going out of business! Thank you to everyone who worked there!
Yi hsuan Tsou: Food was awesome, but the wait was hurrandes.
sanya: Amazing food, pretty good service! Just a really, really, really long wait time.
Marcia W.: Heard this place was closing and I loooove dumplings so I went here for the first time recently. Lunch time on a weekday, it was very busy and full, so I just did takeout. The takeout/hostess girls were eh, not the most polite. They didn't have any patience for me ordering from them for the first time. They only recognize take out orders by the items you order (by name, not order number) so be prepared to list off what you ordered! They told me to come back in 20 minutes so I did and still had to wait a bit. But I heard the hostess tell a takeout customer that the place is not closing so I don't know what's the truth. I guess we'll know July 1st. As for the food, I love pork pan fried peking raviolis with the thick wrap. They do not offer this type so I got their closest similar one instead, which did taste decent... and I tried their XLB, which was good, not a lot of soup broth though, oh well, maybe because mine was not dine in lol. Dim sum items really should be dine in, I have found that when it's take out or delivery, it just tastes less good.Few finicky bits: credit cards require minimum $20, and they only accept Visa or Mastercard for credit cards. And this place is very not handicap accessible. It's a very tight snug fit.If they are closing, then I guess they were caring less about customer service, sort of understandable. But if they are staying open, they could stand to make a few changes in my opinion.
Isaac: Updated: this location is CLOSING 6/30. Taiwan Cafe, Gourmet China House and Dumpling Cafe are reasonable substitutes if you are looking for soup dumplings.Fantastic spicy fish stew and soup dumplings. Usually has a wait so best to arrive early and all people have to be present before you're seated. Quality is still quite good but not as great as it used to be years ago; that being said, still worth a visit (if the wait is less than 20 minutes).
Conor Walsh: Absolutely amazing! I love everything about this restaurant. Quick service, your in and out in no time. Food is amazing, I highly recommend the soup pork dumplings. I would eat here any chance I get. Keep up the good work.
ענת דרור: מסעדת פועלים אוכל ממש טעים וטרי
S Holmes: 小籠包は美味しかった。四川水煮魚も辛さが丁度良く食欲増進してご飯がすすんだ。お店は狭いのでいつも混んでます。
Spencer Guo: Not worth the hype - the soup dumplings were pretty dry and the wrappers pretty thick. The cumin lamb was well spiced, but not crisp as I think it should be not with as much cumin as I'd expect.
Leonardo Maldonado Ramírez: A nasty waitress came out after us demanding to be tipped 20%. The food wasn't that great and the service wasn't that good either. We left some tips but she forced us to tip 20% saying that we must do so. We felt sorry for her deep need for the money, thinking she must really need it. Please don't patronize this tourist trap with agressive waitresses.
Naydabae: This place is very tiny and you would need to sit very very close to other people but that didn’t bother me nor the person I went with. We ordered so many dishes but the one that stood out was the soup dumplings! Very good and juicy!
Joseph Vazquez: Good place to get dinner. I don't recommend it for a big group of 6+, they are usually full on weekends and don't have many chairs. The dining area is very small so say good bye to personal space. The food was okay for the price point around 15 USD.
Erik Harriman: Best Chinese food in town, soup dumplings are slammin.
Amber J: This place was unexpected. But so worth the crowed restaurant. They pack you in. I was with a work group and there were six of around a table right next to the serving station. The whole experience was unique and the food on point. We tried a few different dumplings and they were all amazing.
Geoff Finn: Really enjoyed the pork and leek dumplings, and the spicy pork and vegetable main.
Victor Burgos: You can't visit Boston without eating here, everything was excellent...Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Manya: food was not as authentic as i had hoped. tasty, but obviously toned down for less adventurous palates
Tooba: A very no-frills chinese restaurant. Their service could definitely be more friendly (hence the poor ratings in-general). :(Their food is amazingggg though and keeps me going back for more. MrEgzekutor098: Obsługa średnia, nie było ruchu a kelnerka jakby nas chciała wygonić.
Xudong Wang: The food was good, however the cashier had so bad attitude that made us feel very very disrespected. He refused to print out the receipt and said "outside" after we placed the order and paid by credit card. We did not know the details of the expenses at all.Food: 4/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Cheepers _: Yummy food and a nice atmosphere. Somewhat hard to find/enter off the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible without assistance. There are two heavy doors. The first is coming off the street, and it leads into a small room about five foot by five foot. The second door slams. LOUDLY. Very heavy doors and not easy to access with a wheelchair or with physical impairments.
Allison Hughes: This is not a real restaurant, just a scam to make money quickly while treating customers terribly because they don’t care if you come back or not. They would take your money and then not give you the meal. Kitchen is very uncleanly, food is disgusting and they likely put fillers like wood shavings in it. I know 3 different people who have gotten food poisoning from the food.
mike chaisson: Got some dumplings very tasty hot and fresh. Nice little place will return when I can use chopsticks. Willing to bet all the food is super delicious.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Steamed Dumplings …More
Chad Veal: Got a dumpling, a rice, and a chicken and it was all great. Quick service, and a nice mirror on the wall (watch out the mirror is a little disorienting)
Waren PLT: Start with the downer - the employees. They could make an effort to be more friendly. Granted they were wearing masks and it was little busy, but still. Now to the good. Location is good. They take credit card. Food was delicious, so much so I came back the next day for seconds of their beef scallion pancake - the bomb! And, so many choices, dumplings were yummy. Definitely a keeper for our next cross country Boston visit.
Kim Jansen: Ga hier vooral eten! Service en sfeer even negeren, het eten is top!!
Josée Ross: Food: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 1/5More
Patrick M: There was a big adult size rat that ran into the dining area , the staff showed no care or sympathy about the rat after me and other customers pointed out the GIANT *SS RAT was just chilling around everybody as if it was their pet rat.I’m never eating here again!! I should’ve gotten my money back too !
Kevin Swift: Good dumplings
Adam Vieth: Avoid this abysmal establishment at all costs. Fried rice wasn’t fried and was just white rice with oil. The steamed dumplings were accompanied by a healthy helping of boiling water. It was not disclosed that 18% gratuity was added onto bill no matter party size. Shady practices and depression inducing food. Stay as far away as humanly possible.
Sav Stewart: Recommended dishes MA PO TofuMore
Nelsy Nunez: Bad! Waitress was very rude and was rushing us the whole time. Food took a while and when we got the bill there was an added 18% though there was only two of us. The service was not worth the 18%. Food was okay. First and last time.
Nadia Tabbara: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Vincent Cheung: A very authentic Chinese food experience. We got the Taiwanese style wonton noodle soup and the pork soup dumplings. The noodles had the perfect bouncy texture and the more mild flavor actually complimented the very flavorful soup dumplings. The soup dumpling were well stuffed and bursting with broth. It was a perfect lunch stop!

Dumpling Palace: what do users think?
Aishwarya Mahulikar: Horrible experience! We were served something we didn’t order and when we asked for it to be taken back (didn’t even ask for a refund) the staff responded very poorly. They refused to take any feedback or offer a different dish and instead kept arguing and made the entire experience very unpleasant. I don’t take bad reviews lightly but this place certainly calls for it. Do not recommend!
Swara Fadnis: ZERO STARS. I ordered one thing, got something completely different, and got charged for it. NEVER EVER GOING HERE. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Elaina Gianatassio: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Ratikal: Watch out for the automatic 18% tip.We tried out the 3.5 star rule with this restaurant. For context, it usually means the service isn't the best but the food is fantastic. Look at the reviews here and you'll notice the pattern. The service wasn't bad at all for my group. The lady told us to fetch her when we were ready to order. Once we were ready, we did and she was quick to put the order in. It's atypical from usual restaurants sure, but I didn't feel like there was any nasty interactions. We got soup dumplings, pork fried dumplings, hot spicy chicken, I can't remember what else but at a restaurant called "Dumpling Palace", the dumplings were awesome. The pork soup dumpling was so good that we got seconds. All in all, really good food.
Russ: It was a chill area. The inside was simple. The food was delicious, I got so full! It didn't take too long to get seated(2—5 mins).Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Scallion Pancake, Pork Soup Dumplings …More
Ruthie: The food was just okay (definitely not worth the relatively-high prices). The restaurant was almost completely empty and although our table had been done eating for 25 minutes, the waitress completely ignored us. They totaled up the cost of our dishes incorrectly and we ended up paying more than we should have. They will also try to trick you into tipping twice for larger groups. Please do not get food here. The average food is not worth the horrible and deceptive service.
Nina Dorson: Food is maybe a 6/10Very bad service (rude waitress and waiter, gave wrong dish, forgot dish entirely, practically rushing us out of the restaurant to get more $$ from others)
Shivani Jadhav: They literally took our plates before we could even finish our food. They were rude to my group for no reason!!Vegetarian options: NO VEGETARIAN OPTIONS AVAILABLE
Nat Werth: They could do away with the Covid–seating to make room for more seating, but a trip to Dumpling Palace will never disappoint. This time we had the soup dumplings, fried duck buns, and scallion pancakes (as always). I will sincerely miss this restaurant after my departure from the Boston metropolitan area.
Alison Ye: Recommended dishes Pork Soup DumplingsMore
Aydan Kearns (Ada): Tried this place twice... First time, it was dead silent. I was going with a friend and there was no music and no one paying attention to us, the only customers in the restaurant. The waiters are rude and uncaring, they don't care. Extremely slow service and no one wants to help you with the menu, getting more water, etc. Second time, I went with my boyfriend. As a Chinese man, he tried to ask them questions about what to eat, and they responded for a bit and then just walked away as soon when he started asking more questions. The people there are unbothered, they will ignore you on purpose and find their phones to be more important than the customers. We left, and I will not be going here ever again...
Charlie Daigle: Unbeatable. Get Xiao long bao and pan fried crispy noodle (Buddha's delight) with beefOr the seafood fried rice

Alanna Nails: Mui mal servicio la que está delante es una mal educada
Shreejit Poudyal: the lady who served us was very rude and was literally shouting at us for nothing.
Bhavana Bandaru: I wish I could give 0 rating. The waitress is so rude.
Anna RH: SCAM! Staff was rude. Food awful, they goofed up the order. Charged 18% of gratuity for 2 people and when i asked why was this added she started shouting and saying sign it, just sign it . Barely managed to get this picture
Philip: WARNING! They scam people by including an 18% tip in the bill and also rounding up beyond that!!! We almost ended up paying another 18% tip on top of that. People like them are what make Chinese people look bad. They need to be reported to police.Food was not good.
Kaleem Mims: Food was alright but do you really wanna go with the world’s most arrogant and rude waitress and a 65% tip? I think not, my bill would have been no where near $28.44. I want to point out that she charged our cards before showing us this check. We told her to split the bill and then took our cards before giving us an actual check with all the orders like how it normally works to pull a fast one. This is FRAUD. I don’t know what happened at that register but she charged my friend and I too much. She literally held both of her hands up so we can put our cards in each hand, very odd. It was definitely a learning experience, have fun with our extra money.

Jonathan Oustaev: Ordered from here twice. Second time was really bad. They barely sealed any of the containers so it was extremely messy with a lot of spillage. They also charge $8 for a poor quality miso soup and it’s very small! Restaurants don’t even charge $8 for a miso soup. I thought It would be entree sized based on that price..Update: got sick from this meal.
N Z: 10/10 food. I was reading some of the negative reviews after I stumbled upon this place by chance tonight and had one of the most amazing meals we have ever had and I felt compelled to leave a 10/10 review for this place. So many chinese food restaurants are the same and low quality but the quality here is fantastic and the food tastes both familiar and completely new and unexpected in the most positive way. Give it a try and I bet you’ll like it!
Brandi Peña: We usually get delivery from here but decided to eat at the restaurant. Plates are family style so we tried multiple items and everything we tried was delicious. The food came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh.

Yolo Man: I went here with my girlfriend hoping to have a cute china town dinner date. When we walked in there was no one at the door and we were weaved over by one of the ladies who pointed at a table. We were given paper menus and we asked our server what was gluten free (my girlfriend is gluten free) and he pointed at two things. We didn't trust that those were gluten free because one of them said fried in the name... While we were still looking a manager came over and we asked him the same thing. He actually knew what was gluten free on his menu and we ordered from him as well as boba. When we sat down there was tea on the table. Little did we know we'd end up being charged for it. Not just for the pot but for each person. We ordered two dim sum that were mediocre at best and our entrees were awful. My girlfriend got chow foon that was incredibly slimy with no flavor and gave her a stomach ache after only a few bites. My meal was okay but made my stomach sick after leaving the restaurant. Since no one walked by and asked how the food was we weren't able to get anything else. Our drink also never came... Only after calling the manager over many times did we even get the check. We asked to be given one item for free since the food was basically untouched and he said that he could only give 50% off of one item after arguing.Service horrible, food bad, don't expect much. My girlfriend works at a well developed restaurant. You can very well tell that this place is new.
Linda M: 4.5 rounded to 5. They get it right (taste and technique) with their har gaw, steamed black bean spare ribs, deep fried taro dumplings and shrimp n chives dumplings. I just wish the food was served hot and not lukewarm. Lots of choices. The carts are constantly circling in this scaled down version of old Hei La Moon (weekends and holidays only). Avoid the shengjiang manitou (pan fried pork bao) with a pathetic amount of filling (see photo).

Xingtai Huang: A big no. The chicken soup is as bland as water, a sacrilegious dish to Chinese food culture. I heard my ancestors crying when I was having it so couldn’t even finish. The dumplings are mediocre. Just take a walk to central sq to get something more authentic.
Sagger K: So just a heads up. The QR code menu at the door is not the same menu as when you order food.
J M: Overpriced and greasyRecommended dishes Shrimp Dumplings, Braised Beef Beijing Noodle Soup, Dan Dan Noodles …More
Julian Stanley: Fast and yummy!
Anna Clark: Likely the worst dumplings I've had during my trip to the States. Portion sizes are very small and the dumplings are so small and chewy with very small amounts of filling - if it wasn't for the sesame oil I would be asking if I had ordered 2 day old ravioli pasta! Staff were lovely.Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Nick Humphries: For having dumplings in their name, they sure do terrible dumplings. These were the smallest dumplings I have ever seen in my life, and not to mention they were over cooked and tasted more like bad tortellini than a dumpling. They weren't even that cheap eitherFood: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Dumpling …More
Saskia: Went here with my AWESOME roomie!!!!! I got pan-fried vegetable dumplings, and though they were yummy I’d say they were a little pricey ($8 for 6 pieces). My roommate was not a huge fan of her spicy lo mein with beef. Would I come here again? Sure, but probably not my top choice.
M K: Meh. Dan Dan noodles were surprisingly bland with cold tofu and a single piece of bok choy. Really missing peanuts or similar to add textural variety. Also messed up my order, but did quickly fix it.
Eun-bee: Didn't realize how bad Dan Dan mien could be. Tasted like chemicals and the noodles were mushy like potatoes. The portion was really small which I didn't mind because the food was not that good anyways, but the menu said it had bok choy. They gave me like one leaf... considering they don't have many customers anyways I would think they wouldn't be so frugal with vegetables
Rubel Ahmed: The chicken dumplings are tasty. If you are hungry, buy two pack, as the amount is not that much.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
rachael jin: The food was mid. I think this is a one time only thing where I will come into this restaurant. I’d recommend to just go to china town and get better food. Definitely needs improvement here.
emine gülce özel: Spicy chicken dumplings were smaller than it seems in the menu but they are super yummy
Bill Barnert: Vegetarian options: About 1/4 of their menu is vegetarian.

Winsor Dim Sum Café: what do users think?
Emma: I was excited to eat at Windsor based on the previous reviews however I found a lot of the flavors of their dim sum to be lacking in overall flavor. Most of it tasted very bland. Also beware it’s cash only, even though there’s a sign at the front desk that says credit card over $40.Recommended dishes Assorted Dim Sum …More
bill hua: Very small dining room and very busy around lunchtime. The dim sum is authentic and has a good flavor. The shrimp dumping is a must try.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Assorted Dim Sum …More
Michael Silano: Delicious dim sum, with a complimentary pot of tea.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Baek Z: This is my first time writing a review because I am truly astounded by the service I received during my last visit. My friends and I have been going here for over 2 years; however, after my recent experience, we will never be coming back. The restaurant is cash only (under a certain amount) and my friends and I thought we had the right amount of cash on us. However, we ended up spending more than planned and only had enough cash to leave about a 10% tip. During previous visits we always left at least 20% (even though the service is honestly subpar). Right as we were leaving, the server comes over and demands that we pay more. I kindly explained that we didn't have more cash and that next time we would be happy to tip more. However, she would not budge and was very adamant that we tip and basically forced us to do so through Venmo. For those of you who find this review, the food is not worth the rudeness of the staff. Plenty of other places in Boston with equal (if not better) quality food that will actually treat you well!
Dawn Tse: Cash only. According to their sign, if you spend above $40, you can use a credit card. But they required us to pay in cash anyway. The food was great. It's authentic and how I remembered it in Hong Kong.
Cheryl Doscher: It's a cash only place but they have a credit card machine and take online orders. No sign anywhere that says it's cash only, but they tell you when you walk in. Food is okay, but they are participating in shrinkflation.Food: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5Recommended dishes Assorted Dim Sum …More
Grace Zeng: Terrible restaurant, if you even call this awful place a restaurant. The food is barely acceptable, yet it is way too overpriced. The waiter gives you tea, but they charge you more per person even if you don’t drink it. The bathroom is smaller than my youngest child’s closet and it is completely disgusting. The waiters are extremely rude and just want you to order more to spend more money. After I asked for the check, I was planning to give a 10% tip, but they force you to give a 20% tip added on to the outrageous prices for everything else. When I refused, the manager came over and started publicly yelling at us. Tips are given for good service if the customer wants to, they are not decided by the waiters or managers. Clearly, this restaurant does not care to give the customers the service they need. They truly do not deserve to be given tips.I cannot put into words how bad this place is. Overall, this place is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to.
Victor Nien: As a Taiwanese traveler, I recommend this one if you are looking for Dim Sum in Boston city. Very traditional flavor.
Tony Mu: Be kind and accept credit cards please
Albert Wu: Cash only at this place. Foods are ok but pricey. Service is adequate. Traffic can be very congested in these Chinatown streets. There are probably better choices for dimsum in Boston Chinatown
shinlin LIN: This is a small and crowded place but the food was nice.其實我最希望吃的是腸粉系列點心但是都非常可惜當天沒有供應 😭
Ronald Tu: Average. Pretty busy. Shared table with others. You have to pick from picture. Small space, so you don’t see carts moving around.Recommended dishes Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Assorted Dim Sum, Chicken Congee …More
D Narry Julie Ton: NOTE: $40 MINIMUM if you want to use a Credit Card.Food: A+Waitstaff: FI recommend ordering to go instead of sitting in to eat. Even though dimsum is meant to be eaten right away.Today I experienced something quite horrible. I was a witness to a girl getting shamed and berated by waitstaff. She apparently had eaten and didn’t know that the minimum charge for credit had to be $40+. She didn’t have any cash on her and doesn’t use Venmo. Her bill came out to be around $25 or so. The female staff up front continuously shamed her and treated her so rudely. (very loudly in front of a room full of people eating) She kept going on and on about how she should “know better.” That “this was Chinatown” and “you should be carrying cash on you.” (This is amongst many other things she said to the girl)In the end, she continuously berated this poor girl. And after this girl left, I was the next person in line to pick up my to go order. Apparently, this waitress was still upset about what happened previously, so she started giving ME attitude. Absolutely ridiculous. Don’t vent your frustrations on the next customer that didn’t do anything to you to provoke such a thing. Unprofessional and childish.1) If you are going to have a $40 minimum, maybe you should ask people beforehand if they are paying with card. If they say yes, let them know that you have a $40 minimum limit to use a charge card.2) Not everyone will carry cash around with them. Many people don’t. Don’t expect everyone to know how “Chinatown works.” You are expecting an impossibility. A new person visiting your restaurant for the first time doesn’t know the “rules.”3) Be kind. I’m fairly certain it was that girls first time at your restaurant. You treated her so horribly. There is a good chance she left crying. What is the matter with you? Everyone makes mistakes. And this mistake is also partially yours for not clarifying better before you sat her down and she ate her entire meal. I imagine if that was my son or daughter and someone treated them that way. I wouldn’t tolerate it.To end off,Do better (to the waitress at the front desk today). It may have been a long day and you may have had it rough, but that doesn’t give you the right to harm another person like you did today.
Patrick W. van Deursen: Nice selection of dimsum. Restaurant is filed with Chinese, a good indicator that it is not american-chinese. There are only a couple of tables, a number of them larger, so if you are with a small party be prepared to share. Food is great, service a little less, though quick.Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Buns, Dumplings, Assorted Dim Sum …More
Patil Roupelian: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Velindo Lopez: I had a bad experience. Normally I don't like to leave bad reviews because I know companies have their days off however this was by far the girl at the cashier was very rude to serve me a lot of discrimination for tourists not recommended
The Guy: Good dim sum. We enjoyed it.
Debra Sleeper: It was OK.. The food was alright but the service was iffy. I could not get a glass of water and was told when we got the check they don't allow credit cards for purchases under $40. I had to leave and go find an ATM. My bill was $38. No one told me and waitress was unfriendly. Did not say thank you.I a. A good tipper usually but this time gave a 15 percent tip. Will not return.
Jennifer L: Went here for brunch with friends when we were visiting Boston! The portions and price were very good. Only downside was that it was cash-only, but there was an ATM across the street! Food was delicious and can’t wait to come back next year!
Gabrielle Bhride (Abby): Sizable portions, excellent food, and really great customer service. The environment was pretty standard fare, but the food was top knotch for a great price.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
