The Skating Club of Boston: what do users think?
Chris Murphy: First time visitor to the club for open public skate. We called ahead to confirm we could rent one of the skate assist units for our toddlers to use (first time on the ice for both of them) and we were reassured that if we arrived early, we could claim one for our session. We arrived 20-25 min early and all skate assist units were already “reserved” for a private birthday party. We get out on the ice with my two little ones and the birthday party is using the only 5 skate assist units as ride on toys pushing each other around at high speeds and messing around - all kids were 8+ year olds. Please fix this - discourages us from wanting to come again/peruse any lessons or courses from your location.
Mary: It is the best place to take your kids for ice skating classes. Both group classes and private classes are available. There are also some charging stations available in the parking lot.
Bruce Barnett: Exceptional facility for folks who love ice skating.
Kelly Angelo: I thought it was great went for the National Excel Skating Competition. We all had a great time. I didn't realize how big this place is. I found pictures of my cousin from his high school hockey days back in the 60's. This place is amazing
Tom Tom: Beautiful facility showing dedication to figure skating first. Wonderful.
Joshua Jadwin: Only a review of Skating Academy Boston. Not the skating club as a whole. Very disappointed. Tried for two classes. Save your money and take the kids to open/family skate and teach them yourself. Would not recommend for novice skaters under 6 years old (maybe this is too young to teach skating for most kids anyhow) . Nevertheless, the actual instructors seemed to have little training. Some did not know how to encourage or talk to young children. The teacher to student ratio was insufficient. A supervising on ice instructor was abrupt and and borderline mean to my little guys. Class felt haphazard (Evan more than usual for a class of 4 year olds). No effort for the type of imaginative play that I've seen with soccer and swimming classes for kids of the same age. There were different instructors each week which makes it tough for kids trying something new.
walid makouk: Best in the east
Todd Nichols: Beautiful Rink..
Eric Gagnon: The club is open! Everyone needs to wear masks, and only 10 skaters per session are allowed on the ice, and coaches need to stay on the boards, but the club is open and Triple Axel's are being practiced.
David Velepec: Went to visit the rink but we were told it was for members only and we were asked to leave. Maybe the women at the desk could of asked us if we were interested in a tour.
Tony R: Wish I could give 0 stars based solely on the utter buffoons that drive in and out of this place.
Mark Seu: This is the best figure skating club ever
Robert Allen (86Carrera): This is a beautiful facility to watch figure skating in. The seats are very comfortable. There is a good amount of parking. The facility is clean and kept up nicely.
Richard Fernandes: Beautiful place for skaters
Matthew Mattis: I will share my experience with the Skating Club of Boston. But, I would like to call out some reviews where I find it really pointless.Parking - Yes, they charge for parking because they need to maintain the building and make money. Try going to a concert or sporting events, they charge more than $15 to park!Eating - they have a small restaurant that makes a good amount of plates and there is an upstairs bar for members only. The only problem is that they tend to close earlier than the rink and it's expensive.Free ice - not sure what one member wants. But, complaint that there wasn't "open ice". Do you mean Public Skating? They have it on Fridays and Saturdays. If you're talking about pond ice, then make an effort to make one of your own and maintain it. Either that, move to Minnesota where they're are plenty of them there.Instructors - they will help your kid. But, they're your kid and your kid is more comfortable with you tying their skates or fixing gear. The Instructors are there to teach and will help if needed. It's not a daycare where you drop them off and leave. Seriously.Speed bumps - I agree that the speed bumps are very large and it's because idiots have sped and almost hit several people in the past. That's the reason they put it there. When it first opened, the bumps weren't there. But, after several close calls, they decided to make them. And, they made them bigger because the original design, people still sped through. So, if you're bottoming out, it means you're going to fast!As far as the facility, it's a nice facility, restaurant needs to match the hours of the rink and the store pretty much makes their own hours. Good luck trying to sharpen your skates if needed as you need to make an appointment and it could be days. Sometimes, they offer walk-ins. But, rarely. As far as the facility for training, it's great for elite skates. But, maybe too much for beginners/recreational. Some coaches tend to use the hallway and comfort areas, making it very irritating for parents waiting for their skaters or trying to squeeze in some work.
David W.: Nice and new looking rink but really wish they had better wifi since on their best day it's barely 1.5mbps. I also wish they put in a restaurant/bar like most new rinks these days have instead of just a snack bar. Last gripe is that they didn't build enough parking for events so they charge $15 for parking which is kind of crazy given that you already are buying tickets for the event/show...shouldn't that include parking since there is no other way to get there and it's in a very industrial area.
Gerry Gan: Incredible skating venue! ...and it's not freezing rinkside!
Vik K: Great place to skate with a group for fun, but not the best spot to practice any skills. Extremely crowded on weekends, the facilities are all new and clean. Beautiful second floor, with a library and lounge. Good place to take your kids, even beginners.
George Athanasiou: We had BOCH ICE and settled instead for this highly privileged skating club which to my knowledge doesn’t even have open ice for the public?? Great!!!Froggy's "pond" or Hartshorns Swail (park) which is a humongous field (that is below grade) Norwood fills with water every winter for the town to skate is a great alternative!...If only the weather would comply & stay frozen And then we wouldn’t need all these overprice skating rinks that have no time available for paid open ice.
Nagela Nukuna: Only the most incredible skate shop! I love it here - the staff is incredible, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The facility in general is tremendous. Love this rink!

Steriti Memorial Rink: what do users think?
Kimmi Driscoll: Great activity for all. The rink is well kept, and skate rentals were decent. The only major issue was that the rink guards were not really enforcing safety - there were a lot of kids laying on the ice and getting in the way of skaters.
Robin Beaulieu: I finally made it over this past Sunday, 3/6/23, from the West End of Boston. Had wanted to skate before in February, but they were closed for Super Bowl Sunday. Arrived @5:00pm & skated til almost closing @6:45p. First time on skates in twenty years. Didn't fall once because the ice was cleaned every 45-50 minutes. The staff were very helpful & the skate rental/concessions attendant ladies were kind (one in particular). I had a great time all by myself. The group was intergrade w/ families, teen-age, & college age peeps, LGBTQ-2 friendly, a rainbow 🌈 of ages & nationalities. Most people were considerate of other less experienced skaters, w/ a few exceptions. The ice rink monitors were 'very chill, & loved seeing the stackable milk crates jerry-rigged w/ ice hockey skate laces. My only regret is that i didn't start attending earlier in the season. And 😲, rental & snacks all for $8. w/ tip! I felt like i was back in the '90's ;) Definitely going one more time before they close to the public for the season. It took me less than an hour to get my 'skate legs' back. I'm a fan!
Sita Van: Great rink. Always fun.
ahish chinnu: Great place for ice skating. Cheapest fairs to rent a pair of skates and a large well maintained open rink to practice ice skating.
Erik Paulsen: This was absolutely awesome
raj pathak: Jic
Kofi Boateng: This is a well-sized rink and spacious rink. I recommend going there during the early hours of the free skate sessions. Skates are $5 CASH ONLY, skate sharpening are $5, and they sell snacks as well. It overlooks parts of Charlestown and is well lit during the day and night. They also have crates for children and beginners. Hight recommend. Just a 4-5 minute walk from TD garden/North Station.
Copira: Blew my expectations. When I was visiting Boston, I already knew what city center ice rinks were like from my experience in New York. But the rink was clean, the skate rental prices were more than reasonable, and the rink itself wasn't crowded at all. I went on a Saturday night, mind you. The rink is a great place to check out if you want to ice skate after a long day exploring the city.
Priyanka Desai: Awesome skating rink. As a beginner I found the timings and price very reasonable for public. They have it open for public on weekends which is very convenient.
Raghavendra Mujumdar: Amazing ice rink that’s open to the public for free at certain hours. They offer paid classes for beginners. This facility is close to North End T station.
Krusti Krusti: great cheap place to skate all time you want
BlondSpock: Great facility for free public skating. Snack shack is cash only, but otherwise it’s a great spot for free public skating.
Paggy Lin: It was a fun experience. The ice was nicely shaved when I went there on a tuesday from 12p-3p. It was also a decent price. You can bring your skates and get on the ice or you can pay for $5 for skate rental. Ice skating is free. Very nice price will come back here again. There may be a lot of kids from school and little kids learning how to skate. So it’s like for beginners but also have to watch out for the others. It is also accessible through the train station. Parking is hard to find if you’re lucky enough you can park right on the same street as the skating rink. The street cleaning you need to watch out for the hours. If not park somewhere close to Regina’s Pizza which is only a 5 min walk from the rink. North end of Boston, will come back soon!!!
rafael paes: We went to this place this week to do ice skating and it was wonderful! The place works from 3 p.m. to around 6 and you can go there do skate for free. You can bring your skate or you can rent a ice skate for 5 dollars. The place is very organized and they stop sometimes to clean the ice! They also can provide boxes to help people who don't know to skate yet.The have place to eat/drink inside of the place and is not to far from north station t station.
Fredrick Pelletier: Come on down for public skating. Ice is great and a great view of the North End while you skate . Get a bite to eat and a hot chocolate. Yes there is skate rentals for the public. There's a Bocce court too.
Nightmare: Friendly staff.
Timothy H: Wonderful public rink, no cost of admission and five dollar skate rentalsSkates here are much better maintained than the ones in the outdoor rinks at DCR Kelly
Vivian Cunha: I LOVE coming here. $5 skate rentals, the arena is huge and just no hassle at all. There's restrooms, rest areas and even a little shop to buy snacks at.
Stuff I Find Interesting: Very nice place, beautiful scenery. Inexpensive.
Edwin Dou: Only 5 dollars for skate rent and you can skate until it closes. Not to mention the nice view of the harbor and refreshments from the store beside the rink. Definitely worth coming for!
STACE: Nice and spacious ice rink! Bring an ID and $5 in cash for skate rental!

Warrior Ice Arena: what do users think?
Bobby Leighton: Great facility and helpful employees
Laurie Fenoff: Watched Bruins practice. Grandson and I loved it!
Amanda L: Recommend doing the public skate and checking out the Bruins open practices.
Tony Guaetta: It was great that high schools were able to skate there
Tommy Uhll: Incredible facility. Was in town for a Bruins game and went to watch the morning skate! They also host hockey camps and clinics. Hockey fans should definitely check this place out.
Sarah McDonnell: Nice rink, warm and clean but the seating is tight during professional games.
Angus Lindsay: One of the best ice surfaces in the Boston area! Amazing facility
ant sarro: Amazing customer service and easy access
Misha Huntington: go see the Boston Pride show you Boston is truly the best sports city in the world.
frank he: Best rink near Belmont
Andrea Mathiason: Nice rink a little cold
Elaina Cho: Public skating at the Warrior Arena , large area and space, but you're not allowed to do anything but skate in a circle. You would think such a big space would allow at least a two foot spin in one place for fun, but the guards/ guard is so strict. I've never been to a rink that strict before.
Kim Curtis: Must pay to park, which is $10 for 50 minutes of skating. Makes the cost of public skating $25. I was disappointed in the ice. It was spongy/slushy near the Zamboni entrance. There were a couple of other mushy spots with which I was not impressed. Beautiful arena and family friendly.
Billy Freedom: Area has gotten too nice!!! They are charging to park which is tough to stomach for a kids weekday practice. I get it. The concerts across the street can make em parking money, but the place doesn't work any more for kids hockey.
Eddy Noonan: 1st Class Bldg. A pleasure to watch a Hockey Game here.
J Malo: Top Notch facility
Jon Langbert: Clean, large, well-maintained ice rink.
Staci Donlan O'Brien: Went there for a birthday party. Will go back to skate. Fun place. Dress warm.
Justin Fong: Bruins practice arena is beautiful. Also the ice is better than every other arena around here for obvious reasons.
Ronda Dorson: Okay place my son really enjoyed himself did not know there was public skating I feel $12 is a little steep or just skates
david reese: Fun to play under the banners

Kelly Outdoor Rink: what do users think?
Erica Holm: this place is an absolute treasure ♥️♥️♥️
Carlos Lopez: It's a small ice rink, but there is no entry fee, free parking, and skate rentals are cheap, $3. Its free if you bring your own skate. Skate rental due hurt the feet, but not all of them have tried different places they are a little better then some of the places i have been to. If you get cold theres a warm room and there are restrooms. Can get semi busy but family friendly. Might not be easy to spot due to its location but if you are around the area not a bad spot.
Rikki O'Hagan: This rink is so close to my family's house. It's so nice to have access and teach the kids to skate on a budget.
Casey Lu: Love this local ice skating rink! Free if you have your own skates, or only $3 for rentals. The train is right there so at times really noisy but such a good find for people who want to skate!!! Will be back regularly I hope
Timothy H: No admission and cheap rentals, this place is great for family outings on the budgetThey could use the Zamboni more often because the ice can get rather poor but it’s a public park so I guess that’s to be expected
Parsa Ayoubi: good
natedawg6393: 3/14/2021Closed. Website says open to 25 skaters at a time. Drove all the way there. Empty.Kids were sad.
Jongchan Park (JC): This place is perfect for playing ice skating with your kids. It's free skating, and you can rent a skate very economical price. 2$ for kids and 3$ for grown ups. Only you should count on waiting due to COVID restriction. 25 people at one session. Each session periods 2 hrs. Check their website first.I'll definitely visit again in next winter!
Khyati Girdhar: Everything was good. Because of covid it's long waiting time
Sherri T: It's a nice free outdoor skating rink for the kids but the skate rental hurt my feet & the ice was auntie rough. But overall, I had a great time with family. THANK YOU!
Matthew Hicks: If you're thinking of coming during school vacation week, please note that the rink is expected to be very busy.During COVID-19 there have been some changes. There is a strict limit of 25 people allowed inside the gate per session on a first come first serve basis. The sessions begin at 12pm (except Saturday -2pm), 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. Once 25 people are inside the gate is shut and no admittance mid-session even if people leave, in order to reduce the amount of contact between guests and to be able to sanitize the chairs and bathrooms as well as Zamboni the ice between every 25 people.A line starts forming on the sidewalk near the entrance. First 25 people in line will be admitted per session. This is a FREE rink if you have your own skates (wicked cheap rentals also) and these are the rules the staff have been ordered to follow. Please be understanding.
Angelica Scott: Great place to skate! Can be busy and hard to get in sometimes!
Cody Sensenig: Seems like a great place to skate and the rental skates don't look bad. However, they do run in 1h 45m shifts starting every 2 hours. It doesn't say this on the website (at least that I could see), but they most likely won't let you in unless you come right before the next shift. Just something to pay attention to when making plans about coming here.
Jim Harvey: Get there early with the capacity restrictions
Jonathan Mast: Please note that there is a 25 person limit on the rink due to covid. A new batch of skaters can enter every 2 hours. It would be advisable to get there about 20 to 25 minutes before the next opening to get a spot in the line. They count the first 25 people in line 15 minutes prior to the next time slot.
Philip Peterson: Great community resource
Brandon Maiden: Ice was great, staff was cool. Can't beat free. Will definitely return.
Anastasia Friar: Good place. Ice can be very rough when weather is warm so make sure to go when its under 45 degrees. Ice could be zambonied more often though.
Noel Brinkley: Outdoor rink in funky JP. They have time regulated sessions so get there early as they're limiting the rink to 25 skaters in order to maintain social distancing.
Sean Flaherty: I'm forced to give stars but I really just want to give information. It is December 30th 2020 during covid-19. There is a limit of 25 people at a time on the ice. I believe you're allowed an hour and 30 minutes to skate. Everyone gets off and they sanitize and clean the ice and then the next group of 25 gets to go on. I was there on the 29th at 12:20 and I was told we had to wait till 2:00 before anyone from the next group to get on the ice. Even if someone leaves before the hour and a half they don't allow a new group in. If you are planning to skate here know that you are likely going to have a long wait.
Michael Yarow: Excellent great fun!!!

SNOWPORT: what do users think?
Vmz Conrad: This is a very fun Christmas market! Unless your wallet is full, I would recommend window shopping. There was an advertised "curling" game that was similar to shuffleboard on ice. The experience is overall fun, and a number of vendors have great products, but the prices are generally a bit high.
Gloria Ha: I visited Snowport in mid December on a windy, snowy, and piercingly cold day, which really added to the Christmas market feel. I passed through all of the stalls and stopped for hot chocolate that I saw in another review (which had gone up from $5 to $6 in the span of a couple of days!). It was nothing special but felt essential to warm up in the biting snow. In terms of handmade products there were some nice, very expensive glass art pieces and some cool upcycled bamboo chopstick produce holder. Overall while a lot of things looked nice, I couldn't justify the prices for myself.I ended up buying products from two food stands that were from New York, so much for shopping local! The truffle shop was giving free samples of their products (and of course, expecting you to buy what you tried). We did buy a few things there that we really liked, and checking online it seems like it was actually cheaper than buying online normally. We also got Mama Lam's hot sauce after trying the curry sauce and hot sauce. The hot sauce was so good (though expensive), and I'll definitely be getting it again. I appreciated being exposed to these delicious products through the market.Overall while this is probably the best holiday market in the area, coming from an avid holiday market/craft fair attendee in LA/the Bay area, nothing I've seen in Boston compares. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to attend (especially not in inclement weather), but it's a pleasant enough experience with a wide array of vendors.
Ann S: Great to see so many local places represented. I only recommend coming if you have a particular company in mind. Otherwise it’s very crowded and overpriced ($7 for a hot chocolate?). But the Chequessett Chocolate stall during the Winter Market was worth the excursion!
T. A.: Snowport is the type of outdoor experience that ushers in the Holiday Spirit! Supporting local vendors and learning about new businesses in the area feels good.Plus, the seasonal delights round out the experience; apple cider donuts, hot cocoa (even the adult kind 😁), ginger cookies and more.
Mohamed: Lots of fun to go and see the lights. Didn’t buy much at all but there’s nice food places around.
Oswald Batista: Very nice
Rachel Wu: Parking costs $30-50, got a chicken sandwich for $14 that was floppy and over salted, all the food vendors use cheap grocery store whipped cream and syrup
Diana Chaves: Great Christmas activity to do with your family. The Feliz Navidad drink (winter warmer offered in the food court section) is very expensive but delicious!
Seth Hendrickson: Way overcrowded and overrated. I’d rather go to Quincy market.
Eric Song: Cute winter market that's a staple of Boston winter activities. Vendors and food are always overpriced, but it's good to go once a season for the ambience alone.
Joe Sweeney: Super crowded, nothing to do.
Mirnes Sibalo: What a nice place! Had a really good time here with my wife. Has many different pop up shops/food/drinks. I came here on a snowy Sunday so the it was not too busy. Parking is a little hard to find in this area but it’s a great experience
Allstarplayergk: It’s trying so hard to be a European Christmas market and failing miserably. 15.00 for a 6oz cup of Luke warm bottled mulled wine. I saw the bottles they were using and you can get them for 9.99/2 liter bottle at the liquor store. Over crowded, tight spaces, expensive goods. We just got back from Barcelona and Paris and wanted to relive the Christmas market experience. Epic fail.
Erin Alyse: Amazing! Lots of stores represented here; perfect for holiday shopping. It gets overcrowded easily, though.
Valerie S: The market was awesome. I loved all the vendors. It was busy for a Tuesday evening but there wernt lines to get in. Great vibe and beautiful setting. Wish they had something like this in my city!
Andrea Moulton: great time at night shopping and sipping hot coco with friends. A must see during the holidays
Patrick Scott Welsh (Pag): Bah. Humbug. I guess that’s me. I was overwhelmed by the number of people in such a small space and so these things immediately lose their luster for me. It’s a lovely location and a really nice feel to it. Just would personally look to go back in a more off peak sort of time so I could have the more casual European holiday market type of feel which it’s trying to mimic. But a really cool range of shops which would want to make me brave another go at a less hectic time.
Tran Bac: Chợ ngoài trả lạ lẫm
Sindy Ortiz P.: This was so cute! Highly recommend. Of course its local wares and goods so bring out the wallet but im sure some may be able to drop prices if you ask! I’m planning on going until it closes! Lots of food, shops and some warm spots. The covered seating area filled up when I was there though some shops have heat lights which was awesome!
Jacob Tharakan Chacko: A good winter outing. It could be cold and winds could make it freezing but the spirits if high one can enjoy the place
Alex Issokson: Fun place to visit while in Boston! I recently went to walk around and try some of the food. First I tried the grilled cheese, which was just okay. It was warm, the chips were decent, but it wasn’t anything special. I also ordered some crepes, which I very much enjoyed. I definitely recommend the chocolate crepe—the batter isn’t very sweet, so it’s better than the savory crepes. My favorite food item, however, were the warm apple cider donuts. Crispy, hot, and fried perfectly. Lots of good places to try and fun places to shop at!

Skate @ Canal District Kendall: what do users think?
kingsley st jean: That was a good experience, for first time trying ice skating, the space is not to big so that give every body whise trying ice skating cor the firat time to have a closer thing to stay on the for a little rest
Alain Bolaños: Buen ambiente. Chicos muy amables y serviciales. Me hicieron descuento porque me estacioné en un parking sin validación.
Christopher Fernandes: This rink is conveniently situated in Kendall Square close to restaurants and the T, and I enjoyed skating there. The skating throng is amiable and of all ages at night, when the lights create a lively mood.
Jane Hannah: Amazing location a reasonably priced, well-kept rink. There is a worker who skates like a sleek speed demon, and it is fascinating to see.
Lydia Chew: An outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. Tickets are $16 (includes skate rentals). They have both figure skating and hockey skates. The rink is smaller than the indoor ice skating rinks I'm used to, but comparable to other outdoor rinks. The view isn't as nice as the one at other Boston rinks (like the Frog Pond at the Boston Common or 401 Park at Fenway), but slightly cheaper to compensate. There are quite a few businesses nearby where you can get a hot drink or a bite to eat.
Joshua Soto: Awesome spot for a quick stake. Not too crowded and well maintained.
Michael Moussa: Can't beat the price
Laurie Lodge: Very attentive instructor, great experience!
Brian Foley: Staff was great - they made everything really easy (except for the skating itself, of course, but hopefully that'll come in time!)
Igor Toropov: Nice rink near office. Half size of standard hockey rink.
Raffi Raffi: OMG SO FUN MY CHILDHOOD LIFE WAS THERE ALWAYS
Maurice Karpman: Outdoor skating is fun, but rink is small and oddly shaped.
Scott Shedeck: Helpful and friendly staff, but small rink that gets super busy and chaotic
Tammy Wong-Bigelow: They are very nice and the prices are very reasonable. When the skates I bought online were hurting my feet, they allowed me to use their rental skates free. My 5 and 2.5 year olds had fun there.
Basak Ozer: My 5 year old took a lesson with Imani. At this age young when trying something new, connection is what matters the most, and the teacher makes a huge difference. Imani is gifted with little kids. My daughter felt comfortable, safe, had so much fun, and wants to try again. Imani was helpful answering lots of questions from us parents as well. thank you
Chris Mauri: Nice place to be outside on a warm winter day. All skill levels represented so great place for beginners to slide around.
Sarah Dewart: Excellent teachers. Great staff. Very clean and well run.
Katelyn Crossley: The staff and service here was above and beyond expected. They made sure that we had everything we needed and it was a wonderful day.
Heather Satterwhite: Such a fabulous local rink!
Keila Knobel: My 13 y.o. had her first ice skating lesson at the Skate @ Canal District Kendall and she had a great time
Theresa Vallese: I enjoyed skating in this rink which is conveniently located in Kendall Square near the T and food venues. During the night, the lights make the atmosphere festive, and the crowd that is skating is friendly and includes all ages.

Jay Grossguth: Very brite! Nice lighting. Clean building and very nice employees.
Christine Coakley: It was ok
Daniel Fitzgerald: Great place for kid's to learn to skate
Shelly Ferrari: We enjoy the beach even tho it's a little rocky and now the rink serves food. That's a real plus!
Belgica Betances gonzalez: Lo mejor que isieron
Ethel Flores: The food was excellent. A South Bostonian all my life. Great place to soak up the sun and meet other Southie folk.
Prapti P.: Great addition to the area, fresh and high quality food. Two of us had the "D2" Dog which is a pure Wagyu beef hot dog and it was the beefiest meatiest hot dog I've had. I got it with spicy brown mustard, and relish. The mustard had a bit of a kick, while the relish was tangy and slightly sweet. My boyfriend had his with the house sauce and lettuce. The lettuce was actually crisp, and the house sauce was creamy with a tang. The only thing that prevented this from being 5 stars is because I wish they had slightly toasted the delicious bun. The price I think was perfect at 5.25 per hot dog, it was a good size and the quality was great. Perfect for grabbing and making your way to Castle Island.
