Gina Sottile: Vinny and his crew did an amazing job on my damaged wood floors. I received a quote from another company who suggested a different solution and would not have been able to begin working for a month and a half. Vinny came within the week, cut out damaged boards, replaced them so that they matched perfectly, and refinished, the wood flooring throughout the house. He checked on the work himself and was meticulous both about making sure we had the best possible outcome and in cleaning up after the work was done. They gave and honest and accurate estimate, installed hardwood in our very large bedroom in only 1-1/2 days! And did so with excellent quality. Their work also included removing and disposing of our carpet and padding, removing all staples, and shoring up the floor in preparation for the hardwood install. They also removed all baseboards, installing the flooring under the baseboard when re-installed, which they also did. They even re-caulked the baseboard! That’s the proper way to install new hardwood. They do not cut corners! Very hard workers! We would definitely recommend them to others. My only negative was I had them replace some stair steps and molding on some of the stairs but only the steps were done (not the molding pieces). Everything from the initial quote and contract to the quality of the final work was excellent. The bathroom we had refurbished is quite old but it has very high quality tile in it which is why we chose to have it refurbished. We were fortunate to find "Sir Grout" and are very pleased with their work. The tile and grout now looks like new.In addition the real measure of a company is how it handles any issues that invariably crop up. In our case there was a minor problem where we had to request them to come back. They were extremely professional about the request and quickly returned and fully took care of the issue.I highly recommend "Sir Grout". Both Chris (the owner) and another Chris who actually did most of the work were really pleasant and easy to deal with. I would have no hestitation in hiring "Sir Grout" again.

Michelle Olson: Had my marble tile re-sealed and asked them about honing a WAY too slippery polished marble bathroom floor. They recommended a simple chemical treatment which ever so softly "honed" the tile (imperceptible to look). It was super quick, not expensive and worked as promised. I now feel safe getting out of the shower. Everyone was great - both in providing the recommendation and estimate as well as the execution guys.

C Whale: Boston Stone treated our countertops with Anti-Etch coating to protect against etching and stains. We did a polished finish on the SuperWhite quartzite in the kitchen and satin finish on the white carrara marble in the bathrooms. Several of our marble vanity tops had significant etching from things like toothpaste. Unfortunately, I didn't get any "before" pictures and the "after pictures don't do it justice. The countertops look brand new after the treatment!We had a lot of countertops -- so the crew was in my home for 2 1/2 days. They showed up on time, worked hard, and finished when expected. All of the crew had a good attitude-- some of the crew were always smiling. They were willing to get things right - meticulous! -- and even made suggestions for improving previously existing defects in our countertops. The crew was conscientious of our floors and rugs, cabinets etc. I am very pleased with their work and highly recommend this company!

Rhonda Prokos: This is the second time I have used Boston Stone Restoration and I wanted to give a review. In this era of declining service, I think any 1st class business needs to be shared. We have a marble kitchen table and a few years ago we had a terrible water stain from a glass that nobody could remove. I tried covering it with placemats but it ruined the look of the beautiful table. People had told me that marble in the kitchen was not a good idea but there is nothing like the look of real marble. I did not want to use quartz because to me it is not as nice as the real thing. Not only did they remove the stain, they added a coating that morphed by beautiful marble, but extremely etchable and stainable table into something as strong as granite. Now you can have marble in the kitchen and even have them on the countertops with this coating! It is amazing and the table looks better than when I purchased it. I then had them fix and restore the marble floor/tub in the master bath. The results are just unbelievable. The owner Paul was so knowledgeable and professional and the staff that came was clean, polite and professional. I can't recommend them enough.

E T: I paid $6150 for 700sqft + stairs to be refinished. The result is yellow blotches, stop marks, white areas of uneven application of product and other issues in every room — the photos speak for themselves. Moreover, we were yelled at every step of the way. Not allowed to be in our own house. Yelled at us to “vacate!!” They said, “you can’t be watching me,” walked off the job, then lied about what we were doing just so they could accuse us of causing a hazard and not be allowed to be around. They take no responsibility for the issues in the photos, no explanation given, and told us we shouldn’t have higher expectations. Actually blamed us for asking questions, like why did we see them bring in the wrong product. Only offered to return 625 out of the 6150 we paid so that we wouldn’t leave a bad review, not to compensate us for their bad job. We will need to redo this job at our own loss. Once again, the photos speak for themselves.FYI, the owner’s response to my review consists of lie after lie. I have never met a contractor with such disrespect and disdain for paying customers, and who lies and manipulates at every turn. I have contemplated many times to take this to court. Photos speak for themselves and I have records of what happened, as well as forum responses from other professionals that say this is an unacceptable job. Anyone with eyes can see.
Brian DeStefano: I have 30 year old parquet flooring and an oak staircase that was badly in need of a refresh. The detailed quote I received from Chris spelled out exactly what work was going be done, and what to expect when they were finished. I'm happy to say the work done exceeded my expectations, with extremely high quality work done by Marty.Marty used a newly purchased sander specifically for parquet floors that produced amazing results! This did create more dust than anticipated, but again an amazing job was done cleaning the areas. The attention to detail on the staircase refinishing was really appreciated as well. There was a lot of intricate work around balusters to deal with, and the work was done beautifully. Vlad Tarasov: We were in a hurry to get our entire 2nd floor's hardwood floors refinished, and Chris was prompt, punctual, and professional when squeezing us in on short notice, prior to us moving into the house.We needed two substantial patches to the old floors where the wood had failed, and the floors were damaged enough to need around 1/8" of sanding to take off all the scratches and gouges.When it came to the floor refinishing work, Martin was awesome! Sara Yost: We found Duffy floors via a YouTube video that Chris posted about bleaching cherry floors. We have Brazilian cherry hardwood floors that were a dark, reddish tint. They were a real pain to keep clean and made the house feel too dark.Duffy came in on time and did the job in a professional, clean, and timely manner. The bleaching/pickling process really did the trick and lightened up the floors. Unfortunately, the poly was very soft and did not cure properly. Chris said that it was a reaction to the bleach in addition to the humid air conditions that caused the problem, so they came back to the house and recoated the floors with a different, harder, high traffic poly on a dry day. It looks and feels amazing. With the refinished floors and a new coat of paint on the walls, we feel like we have a new house; lighter and more open.Problems and bumps in the road often seem inevitable with projects like this, but Duffy floors and Chris Potts took care of the problem and made things right. The floors look beautiful and we are extremely happy with the service they provided.
