Jennifer Littman: My husband and I absolutely love, love the farmhouse table that Lighthouse Woodworks built for us out of white oak planks that were salvaged from a Kentucky barn. We visited their expansive woodworking shop in Boston and were impressed not only with the shop, but the time that Lucas spent with us, sharing what he could do and making sure that he met our needs. He and Dan sent us pictures along the way and had the table delivered to us in a timely manner( just over 30 days). This was an amazing feat considering we live on Nantucket Island. We had researched tables in other big name, high end stores. The price and quality that Lighthouse gave us out did everyone else. It will outlast us, our children, and our grandchildren. Monica Moulton: I ordered a custom table and am happy with it. It took about 2.5 months, but they set the expectations with me, so I knew this was their timeframe. Everyone at the shop was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They took their time explaining everything about the different types of wood they work with and how it would/could work with what we wanted. They also delivered it and set it up at home for us.If I had to make one criticism is that, the table isn't finished at the bottom, just the top. Now, we don't use the bottom of the table obviously, so unless someone can prove or explain why that's a bad thing, we're still very happy with the table. It's beautiful.I will be ordering more products from Lighthouse Woodworks in the future.

Darwinsom: Everything I saw was in excellent to new condition. Despite being sold as previously rented furniture. We were told it was all steam sanitized which is the only treatment for bedbugs. We were told that this is why they can sell "used" mattresses.The prices were quite reasonable until you check online sources such as Wayfair. Yet here you can try things out. Like Home Goods etc. Can't say anything was comfortable except for one OMG chair.This would be a perfect place to stage a condo.My friend was highly motivated to buy a loveseat and liked the idea of being able to sit on it.The salesman was very nice greeting us but with each question he was casually difident responding that "he didn't know." this despite his being told that she had a specific possible maximum length. Questions about all other measurements were also answered with "I don't know" until we finally asked if he had a tape measure.During the entire time of our visit no other customers were present. Another employee could be seen hard at work at a desk & our salesman kept returning to his high work space do something.Moving is a fixed price of a low $120.00. Delighted he pointed out that that was for a whole living room set or to our loveseat. Well ok....didn't help us that was true.While my over motivated friend kept asking about the one (really poorly built loveseat. No tags showing where it was constructed, no warning labels, no measurements) and delivery time etc. at no moment did the salesman venture to help past jokes.I asked if I could take some photos to put online before we started shopping. I tried my best to take representative ones attached.Wouldn't go back.

Siddharth Parasnis: Javon provided the best customer service. When my house mate moved out we needed to replace a couch. I placed an order online but saw that there was a coupon I could have used. Javon was able to retroactively get me a significant amount of store credit for a sale happening on the site after I had already placed my order. It ended up being a complicated process but he was very helpful every step of the way to get me the most value for my purchase. This was all during a literal pandemic so it was completely online and over the phone. If you need furniture that is completely clean and serviceable but don't want to buy something new, this is the place.

So why 4 stars instead of 5 you ask.... well I received a mattress and a box spring set from here and it has a musty odor to it..I've checked for stains & bugs which I found none and I still have the original plastic on it but theres a lingering musty odor like smell to it... maybe it's the materials used to make it. I paid for the dining room on 9/11/21, and on 9/2821, I called and I was told the manufacturer no longer made that set. No one called me. I went to the store; I was given all kind of excuses. Now I have no dining room to eat on and I am told that I will just be giving my money back. After three weeks now I am back to looking for another dining room, and the manger of that place does not seem to care. Not even an I am sorry fir your inconvenience. I would not send my friends there.

Today is February 18th and my baby is 2 months and half, I still haven’t received my order. Most of the time when I call the store no answer. When someone finally pick up it’s either they hang up on me or say a manager will call me but no one follow up. When I go to the store they can’t explain what’s going on. I understand with covid things might delay but not for 3 months. Still now I can’t reach a manager, they can’t tell me what’s going on. At this point I just want my money back because I don’t feel like a valuable customer.

Camilo Cardona: I purchased a sofa two weeks ago from Walter who completely failed to disclose their “no return” policy (even though the website says there is a 30-day return policy). When the sofa arrived to be delivered to my home, the delivery men were not very helpful. They took one look at both of the entrances to my apartment and immediately said the sofa would not fit... did not even take the sofa out of the truck. They left in a dash and told me to call the store where I purchased the sofa (Jamaica Plain).I gave Walter a callback and he informed me of their no return policy but said I can receive store credit. I went around to the Jamaica Plain and Chelsea locations to see if I would like another piece but none will fit through our apartment door.I have been given the runaround by the corporate office, Walter, and Ed the general manager (who I have called 50 times this week, and has not picked up or returned any of my phone calls).Now they are saying, they will refund my money back but will charge me a 20% fee. Why can't I get ALL of my money back from something I never even had a possession of???Save your time and money. Go somewhere else that will be straightforward and honest.

Donna Ryan: Shopped at Boston store and enjoyed. Cool styles and made in USA were appealing. Worked with "designer" who was sweet but really no help (and she was gone before our order arrived.) Waited many months for products and 2/6 arrived with poor factory finishes. So disappointing! Delivery was an absolute nightmare - first delivery was 10 p.m. on a rainy Sunday evening (after cancel on short notice Friday afternoon and no communication on Sat). Crew unprepared, scratched my closet and ceiling, filthy handprints on walls. Tried to move everything fully assembled with drawers and legs and struggled mightily. Second delivery was 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday, and crew confused about pick up items. They ultimately got the job done, but these deliveries were the most stressful I've ever had! I would never shop with them again and can't recommend them.

However, this company has a major quality control problem. 3 of 4 items in my furniture order were returned. Wooden tops had gashes in them. On a $1000 desk, the powder coat was bubbled/poorly applied. This should not happen.Yes, you can return for free, but this wastes time. Room and board should improve their quality so we don’t need to return.Despite excellent customer service, I would not shop here again.

Armed with a tape measure we explored a multitude of size options for our bedroom storage. We even received a great lunch recommendation within walking distance! Furniture is beautiful and high quality. Finishes are exact and fine to the touch. Only downside? I want more!

You pay a higher price but you get what you pay for and that's something that will last a lifetime. You cannot compare Ikea and room and board. The staff is also amazing. Super helpful and never pushy. Sometimes I just like to come in and hang out and they are just happy to see me enjoying myself! My girlfriend and I just bought a couch and plan to buy more because of how amazing they've been. 10/10 would recommend over West elm or other comparable companies.
