Page Music Lessons: what do users think?
MengDe Zhu: I called the number below and heard a voice message saying it is closed during holiday, reopening at Jan 3rd. But it is already Jan 7th. What's wrong?
Ngan Tran: I have been learning piano at Page Music Lessons for about 8 months now. My instructor is Sarah Yang, she is an amazing teacher who is very patient and helpful toward my learning process. The staff there are also very nice and friendly. I really enjoy the lessons and have a great time every time I come to the studio. I would definitely recommend Page Music Lessons to any of my friends who is interested in learning a new instrument.
Sanford McMurtry: I started taking piano lessons a few weeks ago without any previous experience other than having learned to play guitar over the past 15 years. Within a couple of weeks, Thomasina has helped me understand how to read music notation and play several songs. I am thrilled with the progress and recently upgraded my membership to the Full Membership plan and can't wait to take advantage of the benefits that are available with the membership.
Rebecca Ercolani: I have been taking piano lessons at the studio for just over a year now. As an adult, I had no prior experience to playing a musical instrument and because of this, was hesitant to begin knowing the learning curve I would be facing. My instructor, Pierre, has been extremely helpful and patient in this process, beginning my journey with the basics and gradually building up my skill set as I have been ready. He does an excellent job of teaching musical theory, which I found not only interesting, but beneficial as I learn more about different pieces and genres. The office staff is very kind and flexible, making it easy to reschedule or cancel lessons as needed. If you are looking to learn a new musical skill or brush up on one you already have, I would certainly recommend Page Music Lessons.
Ronan Barrett: I have been taking lessons with Page Music for approximately 3 years. Throughout that time I have enjoyed the experience of learning to play guitar. Matt has done a great job of challenging me to develop my skills at a pace I am comfortable with. SInce the pandemic began, lessons shifted to being virtual and we have hardly missed a beat. Via Zoom, Matt continued to work together. In fact, being able to play with my own amp. has contributed to my progress. I would absolutely recommend Page Music to any adult interested in learning to play. Virtual teaching did not affect the standard of instruction in any way.
Kurt Wagner: I'm an adult who has taken electric guitar lessons at Page Music Lessons for several years. The instructors are highly skilled, supportive, and extremely easy to work with. I also really enjoy the monthly jam nights, which gives students a chance to play together in a low pressure, fun, environment; but one which can be as challenging as you want to make it. The pandemic has obviously changed the way they operate, but the instructors have adapted and their personal Zoom lessons are virtually as good as live lessons, and very convenient! If you're an adult who has been thinking about starting or resuming playing music, this is a great time to do it, and I would highly recommend Page for lessons.
Deven Smith-Clarke: Great group of people. Instructors are good, and the song nights are great to play with other musicians.
Qi Liao: I have been taking piano lessons at Page Music for over a year. When I came here, I can hardly read the notes. After one year of commitment, I have finished one book and was able to perform my favorite Bach. Thank you Jasmine and Page Music. You are the best.
Niall Corrigan: My daughter has been taking violin lessons at Page Music for about 18 months now. The experience has been very positive. Her teacher, Taylor, has been wonderful - patient and encouraging. She takes an approach that might be described as Suzuki light, and will often spend some time on musical theory or history during the lessons. Daughter genuinely looks forward to her weekly lesson. The facility is also great. Conveniently located on Newbury St right by a the Hynes T-stop. They have a simple billing system that works well. The staff are extremely accomodating and responsive. They host regular recitals offsite that offer a non-threatening opportunity for students to play in front of a group. Finally, one of the managers/instructors (Rick) occasionally brings his dog to the studio - and she's fantastic!
Phyllis Wilker: I started violin lessons at Page about five months ago and I have really enjoyed them. I had studied violin when I was younger, but I hadn't taken lessons since high school, so I was more than a little apprehensive. My teacher, Taylor, has been great for me. She points out techniques that I need to improve, but she is also kind and encouraging. She has expertise in various types of violin playing - classical, jazz and bluegrass and she has been open to teaching me different types of music, as well as some music theory.
Michael Davin: As a 60 year old learning to play an instrument (guitar) for the first time, I'm thrilled I chose Page Music. My overall experience has been educational, relaxing and exciting. Matt is an amazing teacher! His patience and encouragement for a newbie like me has been inspirational. I look forward to continuing my lessons as I chase my goal of becoming a proficient, recreational guitarist. Thank you Page Music!!
John Cragin: Outstanding instruction that combines knowledge, patience, flexibility and humor. I might be one of the slowest students ever but I come away from each lesson knowing more and inspired to keep learning.
Juan Kim: Hey! I am just curious how much it is for a monthly lesson?
Stephanie Walther: I have had a significant improvement in my voice in the year that I have been taking lessons. I also participate in the jam nights, song nights, and recitals that Page offers. They give me a chance to work on stage fright, stage presence, working with an ensemble, and working with songs that stretch my comfort zone. My instructor and the jam/song night leaders have been incredibly supportive and positive as I learn to use my voice. It's been a great experience.
Kevin: I've been taking lessons with Aaron and Emily for a while now and have been extremely happy with the progress. They're friendly and helpful in providing a customized plan for improving, as well as extremely knowledgeable about theory, which is more than I had expected from lessons. Overall, the environment here is great, generally fun and relaxed, which makes it helpful for learning.
Eric Lavalliere: I've been taking Lessons at Page for Just over 6 months, my experience has been great! The first few months I stuck with one on one lessons to learn the basics. Recently I also got involved with song and jam nights. This has really brought everything together. The great private instruction combined with low pressure group classes is awesome.
Cara Donovan: My son and I have taken drum lessons with Dan at Page Music for almost 8 months. There are varied opportunities to play with others/before an audience. Dan is a patient and animated teacher and we look forward to our weekly lessons. I would highly recommend Page Music for first time musicians. They are flexible with proper notice to change if you need to. Instructors are knowledgeable and talented.
Ronald Lohse: I returned to playing piano after several years away. The studio and the instruction here is first rate. Plenty of opportunities to perform if that's your thing. Also, they have been very flexible whenever I have needed to reschedule. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking to start or continue their music education.
Kathleen C. Stone: I returned to playing piano as an adult and have studied with several teachers, but the most outstanding is Jasmine at Page Music. She is a terrific musician, trained in classical as well as jazz, and a great teacher as well. She pitches her lessons to my level, and combines playing with a little theory, and she never minds having to repeat or re-explain a point. I am delighted to be her student.
Julio Butter: I've been taking voice lessons from Page Music for approximately 6 months now and have been learning a lot! I am really happy for the service and quality of the lessons, and my voice improvement has exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend music school for any musician out there.
Sarah Fortune: Over the past six years, both my son and daughter have taken lessons at Page in drums and voice/bass respectively. We have been consistently impressed because their teachers have uniformly made learning to play instruments joyful. Not that the teachers don't have high standards and ask the kids to practice a lot----but the teachers allow the kids to explore their own musical interests through their respective instruments. This experience has contrasted with the kids' years in other, (more formal?) music schools where the curriculum marched through a series of learning to play books that were soul killingly boring. Also love the flexibility in scheduling.

Maestro Musicians Academy's Lexington Music School: what do users think?
Kate James: We are so glad we chose Maestro Musicians. My daughter is taking individual violin lessons. She is inspired by her teacher, who both supports and challenges her. She is progressing musically and is growing her confidence. My son is taking group piano lessons and loves the approach, which combines collaborative learning with personal feedback from his teacher and an app. He practices daily without being asked! Communication with the teachers and the school is clear and proactive so we always know early about schedule changes. Everyone has given us the feeling that they are deeply invested in the kids developing a lifelong love of music.
Matthew Derman: We've had an amazing experience over the last several months with our 7yo taking guitar lessons at Maestro. She's had 2 teachers in that time (the first one moved away) and both of them were patient, talented, devoted instructors. The staff is great at communicating anything we need to know, and very responsive whenever we need to reach out about something. Absolutely wonderful!
Huan Wang: My daughter has a great time with Danpei Han and Zoe Chau. As a parent, I like the active reminder system which never leaves me wondering "do we have class today?" We also like the piano adventure curriculum. The school offers recital sessions often when little kids would really enjoy and earn their trophies. The management and communication is easy and effective. We love the school and the people we met there.
Soo Jung Kim: I have two young kids who have been learning violin from Eric, for about 5 years - Both kids learned a lot from Eric thru online (during pandemic)/ in person lessons and Eric and Danielle at school are so responsive and supportive. I’ve seen the school has been expanding and very successful - happy to have this great music school in town.
kevin mckenna: Maestro Musicians Academy has been a wonderful experience. When my granddaughter first signed up for lessons, Daniel called me to make sure he understood what I was hoping she would take away from the experience. I told him that I wanted her to enjoy her lessons and to always remember the experience fondly; if she became a good pianist, that would be an added benefit. Daniel really did listen. My granddaughter’s teacher,Danpei, is remarkably kind and thoughtful, even as she gives clear instruction. She is warm and encouraging. Not surprisingly, this approach has spurred my granddaughter to take her lessons seriously and to practice more with each passing month. She eagerly runs up the stairs to her lesson and can’t believe how the time has flown when it’s over. I whole-heartedly recommend Maestro Musicians Academy! Our family is looking forward to our first recital.
L Bercaw: We've had a wonderful experience with Maestro Musicians Academy, including tremendous knowledge gain in just a few months. Progressing from never having played an instrument to recital-ready in one semester would be impressive alone, but more importantly, our budding pianist has developed a passion for both on-site lessons and practicing at home. Highly recommend!
Alice Tewksbury: Our music teacher is fantastic! She is friendly, skillful, caring, and continues to challenge students to progress. They offer a comprehensive program and provides great resources for the students and parents to excel in their musical journey.
Sherri Ovsiew: My grandson is doing so well with his piano lessons. Who could believe that in only 4 short months he’d be reading music and playing familiar songs on the keyboard. He loves Daniel and has so much fun as he learns. Anyone who has a kindergartner knows that they only do what they love. Thank you, Daniel for helping Ben to love music.
Harlan S: The instructor was great and management needs to improve.
Bo Cui: I would definitely give 5 stars without any hesitation, Danpei had performed a terrific job and it is actually above and beyond our expectation. I would recommend to anyone who has a child that need some music training.
Aderonke Bamgbose: The director of the program is great and very supportive. The teachers are great and very supportive of students. This is a great community for kids and parents.
Hong Jiang: Well organized music school. Great teachers!
kal vikram: My daughter is taking music lessons here. They are very professional and have fantastic teachers. She loves all her singing classes.
nil san: Maestro Musicians has been a good experience. Daniel has always been very responsive and tried to accommodate any change requests. My Daughter learned a lot from her music teacher Kelly, who is very patient and made lessons fun. My daughter always looks forward for her classes with Kelly.
Lily Yang: The teachers at Maestro Musicians Academy are very professional, caring and encouraging. The management is also very helpful and supportive. Maestro Musicians Academy inspired my kids to enjoy music more and more!
shubha david: My daughter is in 7th grade and has been taking piano lessons with Maestro Musicians Academy for the last 6 months. She enjoys her music and her lessons with Ms Danpei Han who is a very talented and patient teacher. The academy is very professional and the program director Mr. Broniatowski is easy to communicate with and responsive.
William Lewis: My teenage daughters are taking piano and voice, and we are all are very pleased with the quality of instruction provided as well as personality of their instructor. Communications with her and the staff are top notch, the in-person lessons (following COVID guidelines) are very close by, and they are very flexible regarding lessons in these trying times. Highly recommended!
Jennifer Skaggs: Maestro Musicians has been a great experience for my family. Their instructor allows fun and creativity while also making progress each lesson. My girls look forward to attending each week!
Hui Li: We love Maestro Musicians Academy at Lexington! My 7 yo has been learning cello for about 6 months with the academy and she has already grown a lot!The director Daniel is very responsive and easy to communicate. Whenever we had any questions, he always responded promptly to resolve the issues. Our cello teacher Hannah is very patient and professional, she always explains the music and makes sure we understand first when we learn a new piece. Additionally, she also provided us a lot of supplemental materials. We could see her passion in playing cello as well as teaching cello. We would continue learning with Maestro Musicians Academy at Lexington, and would recommend to our friends as well!
Netice Dokmecioglu: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueFriendly and professional music school. We are very happy with their services. My daughter is taking weekly singing lessons and she started to sing really beautifully. They have good communications which is a plus. I am sure you will find what you are looking for here.
Kortnee Campbell: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat teachers and really tailor lessons to you child (8 year old taking piano lessons). Nothing beats in person lessons but they’ve done an amazing job switching to virtual during the pandemic.

Boston String Academy: what do users think?
SONG EUNKYUNG: They ignore parents and don't keep their word. The program wasn't what they promised and they changed the program on their own without any consultation with us. They originally told us that our children would have 3 group rehearsals and one private lesson, but the private lessons didn't start until several weeks into the program. And even then they decided to change the rehearsal/lesson ratio on their own. We feel like our children got worse over the time they were there. Our children were taught 2 lines of music over the full fall semester and they didn't seem to even play that well. Most disappointing is that they don't keep their word and they only make excuses for this and that. One of our children actually said he no longer wants to do violin after studying with them.
Eui Choi: I wish I could give 0 stars. They taught our son 2 lines of music over 3 months of "private lessons" and 4 lines of music with the group over the same time. The program might sound inexpensive, but it was mostly a waste of time and money. You can surely learn a lot more for the same amount spent on private lessons. I don't know if there are different directors at the different locations, but the directors at the Allston location have been despicable. Most abominable was telling our child he shouldn't perform in the holiday concert after he had participated in the group rehearsals all semester. They don't care about the children or the families, don't listen to what you have to say, and only talk at you without actually responding to what you've said.
