Oishii Boston: what do users think?
Ben Pry: The food and atmosphere at this restaurant is amazing. They Excel at using food preparation as an art form. I highly recommend this to anyone for a unique experience, but it is pretty pricey for what you get and I don't come here very often.
Scott H: Had dinner a few nights ago, was ok but not much impressed. コスパよくないと思う。Chawanmushi - excellent 美味しいChuu toro - so so, had some tendon in it マーマーIkura - not great, the rice was soaked with egg goo.Hamachi - fine.Seaweed salad- ok. The seasoning was nice but seaweed not very fresh.Shrimp tempura roll- fineService - not great, for example waitress had no idea why I was asking about seasonal fish and didn’t care 旬の魚知らなかった. Response was, if we don’t have the fish, we cross it off menu.No serving chopsticks or utensils provided for shared dishes.

Phillip Tran: Had a great experience here both times I've been. Some really unique offerings such as the salmon on fire that have a gimmky presentation but also taste delicious. The fundamentals are great: good selection of sushi to choose from with high quality fish that breaks apart very easily in your mouth.I loved the savoriness of the squid ink pasta. Would definitely recommend this for first time patrons. Also very creative presentations for desert. And delicious too!
Dominique Francon: Just a lovely experience. The bar, the sushi bar and the restaurant areas have distinctive vibes but each is great. Fresh fish and innovative dishes. Something for everyone.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Crispy Pork Belly, Salmon on Fire, Sushi …More

Celine Ann Trinidad: Unless you’re ready to spend, maybe Oishii is yet to be for you. If you have some to spare, then it’s definitely worth a try! Their sashimi is one of the freshest I had in Boston.Definitely on the pricier side, but once you’ve tried you’d know why. The effort for the vegetarian options are there, the Vegetarian Truffle maki is done creatively. For dessert, the Coconut Sphere has an interesting flavor profile that must NOT be missed.
Brian Martynowicz: We decided on the Omasake tasting menu and were not disappointed. The server was extremely knowledgeable and explained the dishes in great details. Everything was yummy. Alexander Petersen: Tried the omakase and it was the best I've ever had, and was frankly very impressive. Sam Jiang: For a $30 Seafood Udon Soup, I would expect more variety of good quality ingredients, but I got 10 small shrimps and some frozen imitation seafoods that you can get from any Asian market for less than $5. I would have walked out and went to any different places in south Boston for food with better price, but I was invited there by friends so did not want to be rude. I feel bad for my friends since she could have saved money.....
javier rivero: Great Japanese restaurant in Boston! Traditional Japanese cuisine, fresh ingredients, top ultra fresh quality, we love the sea urchin sashimi! Seafood risotto, and amazing deserts! The restaurant is cozy, private and with friendly staff…
Frankie Li: Service was awful. We(me and my friend) were assigned to a 6-seat table, then another waiter came and said we were in the wrong table, but this person said it was our fault to choose this table, and the attitude was rude.Food is normal, but price is high-end. Not worth it, AVOID!(unless you wanna have an experience about rude service&normal food with extremely high price.

O Ya: what do users think?
Junji Morokuma: If you understand what O Ya means, this is exactly what we have experienced tonight. Literally a What?! taste palette explosion on top of very tasty Japanese seafood dishes and absolutely further more. Of course you would dine here every day. However, the jolt of your much needed and unexpected experience beyond already delicious Japanese seafood is right here, and only so.
Ava French: O YA is an exceptional restaurant that offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant’s ambiance is elegant and sophisticated, and the food is absolutely outstanding. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are perfectly balanced, making each bite a tantalizing experience for your taste buds. But what really sets O YA apart is the outstanding service provided by their servers, and in particular, the amazing server Jessica. Jessica is a true professional, and her knowledge of the menu and the sake is truly impressive. She is attentive, friendly, and goes out of her way to ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. She is a true asset to the restaurant, and we highly recommend that you request her as your server when you dine at O YA.Overall, we highly recommend O YA for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Boston. The food, ambiance, and service are all outstanding, and the restaurant is truly a gem in the heart of the city.
Creative Cuts: Not worth the price. Not enough fish options, some dishes repeat like the salmon and mushroom dishes. Extremely salty. Very disappointed.Food: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More

Rue D: Not worth. Our waitress was unpleasant and the food was not worth the price point. Came here based on the good reviews hoping for a good experience and left underwhelmed.
Lenny Euler: NOT WORTH. I have enjoyed quite a bit of fantastic sushi in NYC. O Ya is not even close. You deserve so much more for $300. This is not it.Let's start with the (few) positives. Much of the sashimi was decent, the mushrooms + "potato chip nigiri" were fun, desserts were good. If they charged $100 for this half of the menu I wouldn't object.HOWEVER -- Nigiri were entirely disappointing. Miniscule portions, which is not a problem per se, but the nibbles of fish were so overwhelmed by the extra ingredients that you hardly tasted them. Uni nigiri had the criminal addition of large pieces of lemon zest, which overwhelmed the delicate flavors of the uni completely.Ambiance and service were not what you would expect of a high end sushi restaurant. Not unfriendly, but felt more like a bar. Also, although food was prepared directly in front of us at the counter, it took a circuitous route back through the kitchen, rather than being served fresh by the chefs. For $300, you can literally travel to NYC and back and get better omakase for half the price. Don't bother with O Ya
Steven M: Loved it
Javier Rosa: Great food, good vibes, great service!
Megan Sorel: Food was insanely good. Wide selection of sake, whisky and other liqueur. Great atmosphere, amazing staff.

Monir Monir: In the pantheon of fine meals there’s great and there’s those that transcend greatness and indelibly stamp themselves on your brain. O Ya is among the latter. Among the offerings some integrated caviar, sea urchin and wrapped up with a wagyu beef course. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very helpful with our sake pairings. I like to go nuts with my credit card on anniversary dinners and O Ya was worth every penny. I would gladly go back and it’s a must try for anybody who loves sushi.
Genwyn: An amazing experience in the heart of Boston. The service was enjoyable and lively, the food was divine, and the drinks kept flowing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Betsy Feldman: Amazing flavorsBeautiful presentationEverything perfectWonderful, entertaining evening with much personal attentionOur waiter, Tim, made the show perfect.Haven’t seen a real professional waiter in a very long time; knowledgeable, informative, well versed, helpful ……. can’t say enough about this guy!Only feedback would be to change spoons; they are textured and too thick getting in the way of the food. If that is the only criticism from me, O Ya is right up there with the best of the best. It was an awesome evening!!!!Thanks to everyone on the O Ya team (and I mean “team”) for making my niece’s 59th birthday extra special.Betsy FeldmanVegetarian options: One guest in my party has dietary restrictions and another just a few dislikes/preferences. Jeff: Not the “Bang for your buck” kind of place. And not the “oh that was expensive but it was worth it” kind of place either.Service was okay but the potions were so sad. It might look like a lot, but you’ll see it’s either this V shaped bowl or a super flat bowl. Soup base for the ramen was about as good as a higher end ramen noodle packet you would get from the supermarket.I would not come back again and I will not recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I would strongly urge them not to waste their money here. The dish in the picture was about $14 FYI

Alexander Clark: Had an amazing time here. I can’t remember our waiter - a gentlemen with longer black hair - he was fantastic. While some portions are a little smaller, flavor is massive. Joce Noyes: Let the record show, Douzo Sushi has got me to eat 'seafood'. As someone who was raised by New Englanders, who broiled everything, and we never a fan of spices. I hated when it was fish night. Everything tasted bland, and fishy. The food here is delicious, and doesn't have that taste that makes you think you've made a massive mistake. I have yet to have a bad meal from here. My only compliant, and I tried octopus and the slices were so thick, I couldn't get thru them. Ask for thinly sliced next time, lesson learned. Thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone.
Y W: I deeply regret choosing this as my first meal in Boston. From Miso soup to wagyu, none of the dishes were tasty. If you're from a city with decent Japanese restaurants (like LA, Chicago, or major East Asia cities), avoid this place.
Felicia Andresen: The sushi was good but quite pricey!
trey higgins-alves: Love the menu it’s awesome to have pictures of each item like a catalog. Service and food was above and beyond.
Steve Chen: Pork katsu is a bit dry on the inside though the fried skin is well attached to it. Coppa pistachio is a great dessert. If you have some space in your stomach, definitely order it.However, my waiter is a bit non-responsive. Never really speak with me. He did everything in silence and made zero ey contacts.

Tora Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?
dongying jiang: The food is delicious.
Tiffany Zhu: Extremely bad experience. The waitress didn’t fill out the water, no soy sauce even we had seafood don, did not take the empty dish away, even when I give the tip, the waitress hold the machine tight and would not let me hold it??? So ridiculous. Bad food as well, gyu don is definitely something they bought from supermarket
Steven Nguyen: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Guinea P.: The lady doesn’t seem to care. The soy sauce was all over my hand. No complaints about the food.
Eros _1: I believe the quality of the miso soup can determine if a restaurant is good or not, and the miso soup at Tora is rich but a little too salty. I would rather have a rich and salty miso soup over a watery and bland one. I had the Eel Don and it was pretty good no complaints nothing mind-blowing. Overall it’s a pretty good place especially for a quick bite👍🏻
Ido Simyoni: One of the best sushi I’ve tried in Boston . Had the torch salmon roll and spicy tuna crunch. Loved it so much that j can’t wait to get more. I only wish they had the poke bowls all day long and not just for lunch
Coco Jing:
Mandi Tahiraj: My friend and I found this spot on Instagram and our appetite for sashimi is practically insatiable. So of course it was on a must visit list on our trip to Boston. We went there mainly for their uni/ikura (sea urchin/salmon roe) bowl but sadly that was not available on our visit. So we opted for the prawn bowl, a sashimi combo bowl, and the negitoro bowl instead. At first glance, presentation is beautiful. In my opinion, the sashimi fish was ok. It’s good but not as fresh as I would have liked. My husband even said the fish was a little more fishy than sashimi at our usual spot. My favorite was definitely the prawns. They were super sweet and sticky, just the way prawns should be. The negitoro, which is minced fatty tuna, was interesting..It wasn’t as fatty as I would like and had quite a bit of iron taste. I doused quite a bit of soy sauce onto the bowl to help.I would go back to try the uni/ikura bowl if it’s available and get the prawns for sure.
Jose Velasco: Pound for pound king of sushi in Boston10/10
Ricardo Vergara: Great good.
Yu Chun Kuo: Best fish quality ever tasted for under $50A little pricy but worth the valueUpdate:Quality control is not well maintained, for both seafood and non seafood entries. The quality discrepancy is more noticeable on the hot entries. I have ordered the same dish for more than 10 times, and can confidently say that “add more pork/beef” option doesn’t guarantee more protein. One time I even requested the added portion on the side so I can confirm but was told this was not possible, which further supported my claim. My suggestion is that if you’re going to get the hot entries, don’t add more protein. Even so, you’re likely to get a small portion.
Lynn: Fresh food and fast delivery. Would recommend to all!
Vanessa Phillips: Tora is my favorite restaurant in Boston - I bring all my friends here when I have a chance (though there can be a wait if you go at a popular time since they don't take reservations). They have a lot of good food, but at this point I get the buta shogayaki don almost every time, would highly recommend if you're in the mood for something hearty/savory. Service is always nice and quick.
Sophie C: Wow! I ate here for the first time last week and it is now my new fav restaurant in Boston! Everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. I have been searching for a great simple and authentic sushi place for a while and I’ve found it! Soba salad and the sake don are my favorite.
Chen Kevin: Food: 4/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Michael B: My favorite sushi in all of boston. Amazing bang for your buck. I eat a lot of sushi & have tried many places. Compared to nicer spots like Zuma and Douzo, this place still takes the cake for me for a more casual night. Parking is hard and chinatown is chinatown though… but I still highly recommend whether you are dining in or getting take out.

Genki Ya - Boston: what do users think?
Olivia Marciano: Their food is great but we've been here three times and had poor service every time. They also like to BLAST pop music, any time of day, regardless of how crowded or empty it is. The atmosphere and service aren't really there for me, but the Genki Ya in Brookline on Harvard Ave has never disappointed. The food is great at both locations, though.
larry benjamin: Horrible customer service. And I hate to make it about race but this is an exactly what transpired here today. A few guest came behind me and they had me standing there and seated everyone else. When I asked what the issue was the lady at the bar kind of lashed out on me.
Đan Nguyễn: The food was quite disappoting. I am a Japanese cuisine enthusiast, and this restaurant definitely did not live up to my expectation. The sashimi did not taste fresh. It was so bland, even the salmon - I could not taste the richness of salmon fat at all. There were some other fusion type of dish, but the combination of cheese and other ingredients did not turn out very well in my opinion. I'd say it was a westernized sushi/Japanese cuisine place, not an authentic one.

Seb T: Stopped for late dinner after a Blue Man Group Show a block away. Fast service, excellent and tasteful sushis, good miso soup. Fried ice cream was ok but for us it wasn’t fried enough, dough was a bit too moist. Will definitely go back to Genki Ya Sushi…even if we saw one or two fruit flies (if you only knew what’s happening in other restaurants’ kitchen but just see it!!!). rakesh dhawan: Tried the cauliflower appetizer, taste was good (4/5). My friend ordered the ramen which was average (3/5), they do not have a veggie or vegan ramen option. I ordered the mushroom wontons which were good but not not filling enough so had to club that with a bowl of noodles. Both combined, it was a decent portion size. Try the hot sauce (very spicy)
Lucinda Barrett: 10/10 experience! best staff! best food! best drinks! 100% reccommend!! My server was Luci, we bonded over having the same name, exceptional server too! 🤩
Gresia Melgar: 5/5 It was a great experience best place for anyone visiting the Fenway Area.
Jin Li: Poor service and extremely subpar food for what they’re charging. We received foul and slimy sushi after waiting for 30 mins to receive service. My friend and I came for an early dinner right as the restaurant just opened so it’s really confusing that we had to wait so long for our server to acknowledge us. It was interesting to note that we saw that another patron who was seated after us received service within 5-10mins of sitting down (not sure if race plays a role as my friend and I were both Asian, but the other patron was Caucasian. Is this that infamous privileged treatment that I hear about but seldom experience?) either way, this is an overhyped establishment that isn’t worth its ratings for the low quality of Asian fusion food that they’re serving. The kimchi fried rice was incredibly disappointing and the ramen tasted as if they used an instant package that you can buy from a local Asian frozen section.
mollica kim: I'm disappointed because the reviews are great. I think I should of taken it as a sign when the server first off never introduced themselves and took over 20mins to ask us what to drink. Maybe we didnt look approachable? We ordered the spicy salmon, Brussel sprouts, chicken Ramen, and kimchi fried rice. Everything was mediocre besides the Brussel sprouts.
Brian O'Reilly: Great decor and vibe, excellent food, good presentation. I got a spicy salmon sushi roll and the veggie wontons. The service staff were courteous and helpful, and I didn't have to wait long for my dinner. My only wish is for more food: the portion sizes, other than the sushi rolls, are not as large as I'd like.Vegetarian options: The veggie wontons were excellent - but more like an appetizer-sized portion, not quite enough to be a main course.
Natalia Genie: I love this place! The vibes here are always top notch, the drinks are delicious and their burger is simply fantastic. There is something here for everyone
Sree Sreenivasan: OMG! This is now officially one of my fave restaurants. Ordered so many items off the menu and everything was terrific. And I mean everything. I was with two carnivores and would not have ordered anything vegetarian, but the waiter recommended a dish that I think is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Seriously: Shiitake Mushroom Tempura Roll (truffle salsa, miso, fried garlic, truffle froth). Wow. I want to go back right now. I’m going back and will try to stay at the Verb Hotel that it’s part of. #25MemorableMeals
A7EX -l: Never given a 1 star before but the food here is just too bad. Walked in on a Wednesday night and there was like 5 or 6 people eating in a huge restaurant. Should have walked out immediately. Food was terrible. Ordered a roll and it looks like it was brought from Whole food and sat in the fridge for 4 days. Beef and yakisoba were terribly sour. Potion is super small but the price make you feel like you’re in a fancy restaurant except it isn’t. Avoid.
Conner Jarrell: Cool place to grab a bite to eat if you're staying at the verb hotel. Sushi was good, burger was okay. Granted, I'm sure that isn't their best seller, haha.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Matt A. Murphy: Recommended dishes Spicy Tuna Roll, Hojoko Cheeseburger, Salmon SashimiMore
Seth Schorr: The food was good, but they were understaffed.Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Shannon Lepore: This place has a great idea but failed to execute on every level. I ordered soba noodles and what I got was an over-salted stir fry with egg noodles. We had to get up twice to find our server and again to go fetch our drinks. I’m not sure what was going on but the the service barely existed. Won’t be going back unless that change the menu or get new management.
Samantha: Cool vibe & delicious food, i think the veggie wontons & chicken katsu were the best!
Michelle Lee: Andy, Lisa, and Olivia were so great! Honestly, they recommended the most amazing drinks and I got the 678 while my date liked the Hawaiian Punch sash a ton! Their truffle foam sushi and Wassabi roulette are incredibly unique. The vibes are immaculate. This place is always busy but today they had chocolate strawberries for Valentine’s Day! The workers are a great team and they are constantly running around so that we don’t wait too long for water or soy sauce. Come! 12/10 recommend!!

Zuma Boston: what do users think?
RY: Pros:- The food was great, the waiter sold us on the premium omakase and it was a good choice. Plenty of food and we were so full!- Our waiter was kind and attentive.Cons:- We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, and were told “your table will be ready in 1 minute” for the next 35 minutes by the hosts.- The music during dinner is louder than some bars. It’s crazy lol. If you’re sitting at a round table for 4, you can barely hear anything the person across from you is saying. You definitely will not be able to hear the busser explaining what each dish is. The vibes are good but the music could be turned down just a bit.- Every single time the busser came by to take our plates away we were asked if we had more food coming. They did not know we ordered the omakase. After ordering dessert the busser came by and asked if we wanted a dessert menu. Seems a bit unprofessional and unorganized.Overall, the food and waiter were great, but the rest of the experience was lacking.
Leah Tenn: Came here on 5th of may, everyone was rushing us to leave, the waiters were so rude, telling us not to take photos with flash and we were literally there with an influencer who is reviewing the place. Fast service but thats all they have to offer because they want you to pay and leave so they can use your table again. Horrible. Miami is way better. Not to mention they sat us next to the kitchen, having dinner with the chef is fine, but i wanted to be in the actual restaurant next time thank you.
Xhulio Jamaku: I only go here for one thing only, the burning man cocktail. Its out of this world.

divine Onyeme: Zuma is always a good idea especially because of the 5 star service. The staff make you feel welcome, the food, drinks and desserts are consistently good. Dining here can get pricey but I would say that the price is worth it especially during the weekends or a special occasion like date nights.
Jennifer Rosario: Excelente ambiente, la comida riquísima
anna yamamoto: Second time going here and the food is great! Id say the sushi is overpriced and not worth the hype but the miso cod is delicious! The beef with the truffle shavings were great too! The waiter was honestly a little annoying, but nothing major! We were all full by the time we finished but she kept asking us if this was really enough food for the table. But all in all the food is great!
Michael DiBona Sr: Everything unbelievable. Must go.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Olga Siriachenko: Recommended dishes Yellowtail Tartare with TruffleMore
Elizabeth McClain: Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Go.
Andrew Lu: Could see it being an expensive, casual date night. Expensive, but good value. Pretty loud music.
Elizabeth S.: 5 star dining experience! Our favorites included the mashed potatoes, (mashed in front of you) and the seabass - wow!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Will G: Zuma has been my favorite omakase in Boston for years, but having gone 3 times now my recent experience was disappointing. I would like to start by saying Zuma produces disgusting amounts of food waste; atrocious restaurant policy prevented me from taking my entree home from brunch (presumably because the appetizers were "all you can eat") My issue with this is that I made a 2:00 reservation, and within 30 minutes of sitting down we were told that it was last call for kitchen, and soon after, for sushi as well (so much for 2 hours of unlimited food!). The brunch price on the website is $86 but when you show up it will be $95. The amount of food we got was great, but given the advertisement of unlimited food that was incorrectly priced on the website, I felt let down here too. We never even ordered more from the unlimited section, so the fact that I had to wrap my included entree chicken sando in a NAPKIN because I was full but didn't want an ENTIRE plate of food to go to waste as I watched an orchestra of servers taking almost full plates from customers makes me unlikely to return. I would love to see any kind of real menu change/refresh, eating at Zuma feels the same each time, which is nice, but nothing more; I would love to feel the surprise and delight of my first meal with Zuma again, but the same menu each time makes this impossible. Many of the dishes felt overpowered by either truffle, or yuzu, which is my personal taste but was agreed upon by my group. I am grossed out by their lack of environmental concern about their undeniably unsustainable model given the prices that should be able to allow them to waste less food. When I eat at a restaurant I would like my future children to be able to enjoy the same food I did, but the dizzying lack of environmental concern makes me question whether I should be spending my money here if my goal is for these restaurants to still be around for future generations to enjoy. Overall I felt uncomfortable while dining, which was a horrible feeling at my previous favorite restaurant.
jason pena: They food might good and all but they treat there own employees like trash. It doesn’t make any sense. Management is horrible. If management makes good money they will only care about themselves. What is the point of working for a company like this ?
Mark Versavel: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Miso Black CodMore
Jim Taylor: The ambiance, customer service and food were absolutely amazing. Their employees are educated on the food they present, and approach the table with positivity and professionalism. The attention given is why this restaurant is second to none. We sampled everything in a tiered presentation and the food and service was spectacular. I won’t go to any other Japanese restaurant. This is my “go to” place from now on.
Wei: Food and service are good. A bit overpriced. Nice place if you want something relatively fancy.

Austin Boie: sushi had good quality fish, but fell off the rice which wasn’t as seasoned as you may want. Rest of the hot meal foods were actually great w/ crunchy textures to the chicken teriyaki, and that box curry taste from the roux (a good thing).Serving style feels rather distant, but could be for a bunch of reasons from time of day to our group being a group of mainly white people~If anything, not really of focus when you’re getting food for solid prices + feels consistent w/ the quality of the of Chinese-American Japanese restaurants I’ve had across RI.

Deborah C: Came here on a whim for dinner Wednesday night, and it was just the two of us around 6pm. More and more people trickled in but we were given our choice of seating. It's a unique space with different seating options and lots of window seats. We ordered the Party Boat, which was more than enough for the two of us. Each piece of sushi tasted fresh. Next time we probably would opt for ordering smaller dishes to share, but the boat was pretty good value for the amount of food we got.The service was also very friendly and attentive. Every time my water got low, it would get filled back up right away. Would definitely come back for a casual meal!
Erin Quinn: Great vibe, beautiful interior especially the window bar, kind & attentive service. The sushi was delicious (not to mention beautiful). Can’t wait to go again!Dietary restrictions: I have a serious gluten sensitivity, and I was given thoughtful respectful guidance as to my menu options. They have gluten-free tobiko - yay!!!!
Zoë McGinnis: Awesome place, I go there almost every week! The maki combo is the way to go. They have super nice wait staff and a nice little wine shop too.
Chloe Wilson: Such a cute hidden gem! We wanted to get a drink before another reservation and this place didn’t disappoint. Really creative sushi options and they were all sooooooo good! Marina M: This place is amazing between the food and the vibes I can't wait to come back! They have vegan options and beautiful seafood. The music is at the perfect volume and the wine cellar is so pretty. The wines they sell by the bottle to take home or by the glass with sushi. The seating was different but perfect for larger or smaller parties. The sushi was perfect, rice was perfect texture and had great flavor with the nori.
