Taiyaki NYC - Boston: what do users think?
brufleth: Mediocre soft serve with decorative toppings in an undercooked pancake batter cone. It isn't bad, but this is more about a pretty looking thing than a good ice cream treat. At roughly nine bucks a cone and often a long line, I'd pass unless someone really wants an insta moment.
Rachel: You can never go wrong with taiyaki, and this hidden gem in Seaport is the place for taiyaki. The staff were helpful and welcoming. I live in Florida but visit Boston often, and I will be coming back!
Derek Darko: Taiyaki NYC is peak ice cream. There isn't a single bad flavor. Try it as soon as possible.
Matt S: This was good. The custard tasted very nice
Nell: Super yummy, great taiyaki ice cream! the workers were nice and the food didn't take too long. the space was a little small but still nice :))
Melina Hopkins: Such a cute little shop! Friendly and fast service. The space is small and limited to six guests so it makes sense why there is always a line.
fRobert Myers: What's not to love about the 'gramable soft serve ice cream in a fish shaped pastry?
Casey Comisky (JokerES): Good, but a little expensive.
sruthi Kotla: I ordered chocolate and the taste wasn't according to the hype, disappointed because ice-cream started melting by the time I came out of the store, taste is average and didn't like the cone
sara ziane: Love it
Emily Hamman: Love these fish cones 😋 orders come out quick, which is great. Just wish the ordering process and getting in and out of the shop was smoother! Would also be nice if there was space to enjoy indoors.
Will Rosewater (Will): The nicest people and amazing service. Always get the custard!
shriti jaiswal: Tiny place with delicious ice cream menu. You can mix flavours. We tried the chocolate flavour. The fish cone is the different than most other flavour. It’s packed withh custard and taste lovely with the ice cream. Surely try if looking for a quick and different ice cream flavours.
Guy Zylberberg: Surprisingly great! Just make sure to expect a line.
Svetlana Pribytkova: Nice little place with fish cone ice cream
Lotty Melidor: My favorite ice place in sea port.
Thanh Tan Yves Nguyen: To the owner(s) of Taiyaki at Seaport, thanks to the 3 employees hiding behind the counter, we left after 5 minutes watching them hide while on their phones and took our business to Ben and Jerry’s around the corner.I guess today wasn’t the day for over priced novelty ice cream in a fish shaped cone.Ben and Jerry’s was much better anyways.
Biki Takashima-Uebelhör: We live by the one in Harvard, but this one at the Seaport is our favorite hands down. Their taiyaki ice cream is amazing (especially the Hōjicha and matcha swirl) but their taiyaki alone are soooo good (both azuki and custard) and have improved so much over the years. They do taste like the ones in Japan now (the Harvard one is about behind, with their taiyaki a bit deflated and on the small side). The service is great too. Really friendly staff, even when they are busy in the small space they’ve got and you have kids with you.
marc capitano: We got a unicorn Taiyaki and it was amazing
Pink Taroreh: YUMMMY!!! Every time I passed by this place, it always had a long line. But this time - Friday night around 9ish, it was empty. I got the “Straight Outta Japan” and it was so so good 😭♥️ didn’t expect the taiyaki cone would be this crunchy (but also soft) so so so good. Also theres red bean at the end of the cone. Perfect last bite!! Ice cream was also so soft and not too creamy! 10/10 would come back.

Sakura Sunakku: what do users think?
Jessica Lee: I ordered two different shaved ices and was thoroughly disappointed. The ice was completely artificially flavored with syrup. The mango ice was topped with unripe mango chunks, and the strawberry ice was a sickly bright shade of pink that was simply unnatural. I cannot recommend any of the flavors. Do not order the shaved ice if you are looking for good bingsu.
Khanhly T: Good food!
Yvonne K: Super quick service during lunch and beef ramen was delicious! They were very generous with their beef too 😊 and good price!
Jenny B: Do yourself a favor and get the crepe ice cream. Don’t ask questions, just do it.You’re welcome.
Timothy Stepanski: Credit card minimum, microwaved all the food, very cluttered.
Lucy Mirando: Perfect little nook tucked away in the middle of Chinatown. The eel ramen was super delicious. It would be nice if they wouldn't use single use plastic bowls and silverware, but it might just be temporary due to covid. Hopefully they return to proper dinnerware. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with menu questions.
Sophia Seliger: Don bowls and dessert are great and very fast service
Bella Linda: We went for desserts. Tried the shaved matcha ice, it wasn't good. It was bland and didn't like match at all. Super disappointed with the shaved ice. We ordered two ice cream crepes, those were amazing. We'll visit again, but we won't be ordering the shaved ice anymore.
Victor T: Came here with a friend, he had the ramen, I just had some dumplings. His ramen was fine, but 15 minutes after I ate the dumplings, they had to come out. They tasted ok, but I'm not sure what else was in there to upset my stomach so fast.Food: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 2/5Recommended dishes Ramen …More
Jon Dillon: As somebody who has been to dozens of ramen places, their ramen is that good compared to the other ones I been to. It’s a bit cheaper, that’s for sure. I’d stick to WakuWaku Ramen, which is a few blocks down. Their ramen is better.
k: I love the ricebowls and soup. Havent tried the sushi but will try next time!
Paul Cabin: Expensive and the chicken ramen was not good. Both did not have deep flavor and chicken had clearly come frozen in strips.
Daniel Chituc: The definition of a hole in the wall place, but the food is fantastic and the prices are great. Honestly you can't ask for anything more.
sandy :D: i love this place so much and the workers are so kind! i love the takoyaki and shaved ice here 3
jacqueline montero: went back in january and really enjoyed our food!! the staff was friendly and fast service, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. food was very tasty and warmed us up since there was so much snow. chicken don was delicious. would go back again! 😸Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes …More
Paul Kernfeld: Yummy cha shu ramen in a cozy no-frills food court
Hieu Nguyen: Check out my favorite ramen placeThis is more Taiwanese ramen rather than Japanese ramen you have known before. BUT IT TURNED OUT GREAT 😍Chicken broth is clear and smooth 🤤Spicy cha siu ramen is very rich and nice 🤤Customer service is good🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Tabitha K: I’ll start with the restaurant, then talk about the food. First, a heads up: the chopsticks they use are rough wooden chopsticks you’d find in carry-out and disposable plastic bowls. If you’re like me, and the rough wooden chopsticks always chafe the side of your mouth, I recommend that you bring your own. As far as COVID-19 safety is concerned, there are plastic barriers separating you from the cashier, but no barriers between you and the other customers. Hand sanitizer is available by the cashier. The strength of the restaurant is the variety of food they serve: other than ramen and crepes, there also rice bowls.I ordered the Unagi (Eel) Ramen and the Chocolate Temptation Crepe.Unagi (Eel) Ramen ($14.00): The eel seemed fresh and was tender. However, I wasn’t really impressed with the broth or noodles. The flavor of the broth was really light and lacked richness, not at all like how I like my tonkotsu broth. The texture of the noodles was fine, but it tasted like store-bought noodles. As for price, I’d say $14.00 is reasonable: it’s comparable to other ramen prices, and there was a good amount of food.Chocolate Temptation Crepe ($7.95): I had never tried this kind of dessert before and so was really eager to do so. The textures worked well together. Since it was my first time eating this, I don’t really know how the price of the crepe compares to other crepes, but for the amount, I’d say that the price is reasonable. In conclusion, if you’re new to restaurant ramen or if you’re introducing someone to restaurant ramen, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are other places with more flavorful ramen. However, if you’re looking to try something new, I would come here; I haven’t really seen unagi ramen, and was really excited to try this restaurant when I first heard about it. As for me, I would likely come back. I'd like to try the char siu ramen and see if the broth will be more flavorful, or may an unagi don (rice bowl). And of course, I need to try all flavors of crepes.
W Hui: Their shaved ice is S.C.A.M.
Anthony: My favorite place to go get an affordable meal as a student in Boston!Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: No Delivery: No Curbside pickup: No …More
douglas roberts: Tiny place in a hidden away food court, but excellent ramen and ice cream creations 😋

Japonaise Bakery & Cafe: what do users think?
Y K: I always buy their shokupan, which is fluffy and subtly sweet. This place reminds me of bakeries in Japan.
Yoseob Yoon: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Matcha Cake, Matcha Cream Bun, Fruit Tart, Pastries, Cream Puff, Spicy Salmon Onigiri, Totoro Pastry, Green Tea Cake, Totoro Bun, Mochi, Almond Croissant, Strawberry Short Cake, Cheese CakeMore

Please come back!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Melon Pan, Cream Puff, Totoro Pastry, Almond Croissant Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options Paid street parking …More
Raquel Gonzalez Rebordinos: The owner updated his go fund and apparently the goal is to reopen in 3 months! I can’t wait to try it
Eleanor Marsh: When will this institution of deliciousness reopen? Any updates on construction/progress with meeting fund raising goal appreciated.
X Z: My roomie and I loved the strawberry puff pastries! Can't wait to see you again after renovation! 🙂
Sum Burun: Used to be good, really good, but have slowly got degraded under the new owner, who has lately grown arrogant. I hope their closure is permanent.
Carla Frenchko: I lived a block from this awesome little bakery back around 2005. I fell in love with their scones. They were full of berries and chocolate, soft and moist like little cakes. Haven’t been back but it looks like their menu has changed. I hope they are as delicious as ever.
Guamer from Guahan: Looking forward to their reopening. Great bakery and cafe. Modest selection of Japanese snacks and drinks also fresh daifuku.
Margaret Shelly: Great pastries, light, delicate, melt in mouth good. Also love their apple bread pudding, cakes and sandwiches.Right up there with some of the best pastry shops in Paris! Waiting for them to reopen soon
ʕ •ᴥ•ʔRa: Wonderful cute Japanese cafe. All the cakes and bakery are so cute.
Betty Hsu: I've been here twice and honestly can't believe I haven't come here more often. Both times I got the matcha azuki cream and no exaggeration, it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Perfectly flaky croissant dough, sweet red bean paste, and the matcha cream, oh....that matcha cream...I'm salivating right now just thinking of it. I could eat bowls and bowls of it all day and not get tired of it. How is it so good? How does it taste so light and barely sweet? I've also had the matcha chocolate bread and chocolate cream horn and will sing both of their praises to the high heavens. Normally I find chocolate cream to be heavy and sickly sweet, but Japonaise makes their chocolate cream just as light and subtly flavored as their matcha cream. Finally I've had their onigiri and it is quite good too, though perhaps not as radiant as their desserts. Then again very few things on Earth can reach the heavenly heights of the matcha azuki cream.I'm a bit sad I only discovered Japonaise a few weeks before they're closing down for renovations. But if it means they'll come back even better, I'm cheering them on every step of the way. Both times I went here there were lines and the space inside is quite small, plus they're pretty strict about only admitting four customers at a time. I felt they were fair precautions and it was entirely worth it.In the meantime I guess I'll have to settle for Paris Baguette or something. Idk if I could ever go back to any other Asian bakery after the joy and wonder that is Japonaise though.
Sarah Ann Cheong: My husband ordered a cake from Singapore for our friend in Boston and Maho made the process so easy and fuss-free, we are truly appreciative of your efforts to make our friend’s day! Highly recommended for the professionalism and yummy bakes (our friends who tried the cake and bread gave it top reviews!)
DL: 식빵 맛집 👍🏻
Steven Quezada: This is my favorite spot
Parker K: Japanaise is a wonderful little Japanese bakery that has some of the best tasting pastries I've ever had! All of their treats are made fresh daily, and they're all delicious! They have some pretty clever, cute ones too, like the Keroppi frog pastry, and the Totoro pastry. They have a range of japanese baked goods, as well as prepackaged drinks and snacks. The foods great and prices are great too. Come support them and enjoy a good meal as well!
Cassandra: I have been coming to this place for years even when I moved out the state are always have came back to visit this place is sensational
Dan B: I can understand why there's such a line to get in! I couldn't pick a favorite as every selection was delicious. Definitely worth a visit. Staff are super helpful and caring in packing your order, as well.
Bhaskar Edara: Really loved this place. Friendly staff and nice selection. Glad I found this place.
Mary Dann: Thank you for following Covid protocols. But even better was my blueberry croissant pastry! Flaky and buttery and just the right amount of sweet.
Alexander McDargh-Dunn: The Kombu and spicy tuna onigiri are the perfect snacks. The baked goods are phenomenal.

Alexander Clark: Had an amazing time here. I can’t remember our waiter - a gentlemen with longer black hair - he was fantastic. While some portions are a little smaller, flavor is massive. Every dish including gyoza, sushi special rolls and the tuna fried rice and others we tried was very well made. Highly recommend their cocktail menu as well. Will return when possible!

Tanzila Jamal: Great atmosphere, decor is beautiful. Food was pretty good! You definitely get the bang for your buck with the warm sake, we ended up not being able to finish it. Dessert was very disappointing and overpriced, which is why I couldn't give this a full 5 stars.Overall, it's decent sushi if a bit overpriced. Would definitely come here again for a fancier outing.
James Bell: Top notch sushi. Great vibe. Bucket list sushi stop. You will not be disappointed with the food, service, or music.

Joce Noyes: Let the record show, Douzo Sushi has got me to eat 'seafood'. As someone who was raised by New Englanders, who broiled everything, and we never a fan of spices. I hated when it was fish night. Everything tasted bland, and fishy. The food here is delicious, and doesn't have that taste that makes you think you've made a massive mistake. I have yet to have a bad meal from here. My only compliant, and I tried octopus and the slices were so thick, I couldn't get thru them. Ask for thinly sliced next time, lesson learned. Thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone.
Y W: I deeply regret choosing this as my first meal in Boston. From Miso soup to wagyu, none of the dishes were tasty. If you're from a city with decent Japanese restaurants (like LA, Chicago, or major East Asia cities), avoid this place.
Felicia Andresen: The sushi was good but quite pricey!
trey higgins-alves: Love the menu it’s awesome to have pictures of each item like a catalog. Service and food was above and beyond.
Steve Chen: Pork katsu is a bit dry on the inside though the fried skin is well attached to it. Coppa pistachio is a great dessert. If you have some space in your stomach, definitely order it.However, my waiter is a bit non-responsive. Never really speak with me. He did everything in silence and made zero ey contacts.
Nick Goharzadeh: Nice modern sushi place. The octopus ceviche was delicious.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chocolate Fondant Cake, Seafood, Sushi …More
Jupiter Now: NO customer service and the salmon sashimi was not cut properly. Host barely said hi and did not say thank you/good bye when I left. Server never said one thank you. $26 for a quick week day lunch is not cheap and I want to support restaurants but not when staff are not doing their job!
Brandie Hughes: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes SushiMore
João Rigoni: Close at 10 even though google says 11:25
James Sullivan: One of the best servers I've ever had at a sushi restaurant. And, some of the best chirashi I've ever had. Incredible for the price point.
TravelCat Supreme: The food is good. I found the staff to be pretentious. I was dining alone and was never offered a table in the restaurant area, only the bar. Apparently, dining alone is not worth an actual table with a real chair. The young woman with the blue hair who helped me in the bar area couldn't even bother to smile. She was MUCH friendlier to the two guys who also sat in the bar area. There is better service out there.
Ashton Laurent: Visited for my spouse's birthday recently. He went for a few sushi rolls, while I had a house salad and basic chicken teriyaki with fried rice. My salad (with dressing on the side, so it's not like it was anything but greens and fried onions on top!) somehow took far longer to get than my spouse's starters, and we needed to ask twice for it.His rolls were "alright" but my dinner was awful. The fried rice was gummy and sticky, and the chicken tasted and smelled like it was due for the garbage bin. I took a few bites but left the rest alone - I'm not looking to risk illness for overpriced, underwhelming chicken teriyaki. The service was okay, and the restaurant itself had a really confusing ambiance. Thankfully there are a hundred other restaurants in the area that can do it better.

KC Chen: Everything at the restaurant was great especially the yakitori! The vibe was nice, staff was friendly and very efficient. Super affordable! There is a line so do make reservations ahead of time!Would definitely recommend!
Marc: When asked by a friend how the food was, "Love in a bowl" was the first thing that came to mind.Absolutely incredible.
Tian Zhao: Our first visit since its relocation from Allston. Grilled hokke (atka mackerel) was too salty, and fried beef tongue was a bit overcooked. The others were pretty good. Would recommend fried oysters, chicken namban, and yakitori.
Jiayu Shi: I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant and plan to come back often. However, I've noticed that like some restaurants in Boston, the waiter swipes your card in front of you at checkout and asks you to enter the tip in front of them. The minimum tip amount is set at 18% of the total price after tax, with tipping options of 18%, 20%, and 22%. Personally, I don't appreciate this type of behavior from restaurants and it makes me uncomfortable.
Ryan Wetzel: We've gone out to the new hot spots all over and come to realize, some of the absolute best are the staples that have been around for the long haul. Varied menu from yakitori to sashimi to noodles, you won't find better Japanese food in Boston. Prices are reasonable and solid selection of Japanese beers and sake. Took me 20 years to find this gem and will definitely be back.

Nhu Phung: Great food! Taste like Im back in japan, highly recommend everything--okonomiyaki, skewers, nigiri etc.
Biao Li: In comparison to other Izayaka locations in Boston, this is by far the best one. Super busy on weekends but well worth the wait. Friendly staff and service.

Yi Soon Bakery: what do users think?
Feng HU: 我早上9点多去买肉松包,问他是当天的吗,他说是,我买回来吃了,100%不是当天的,吃着硬硬的,无语了
정신영: I love this bakery's almond crepes. Definitely the best dessert I've had in Boston. When I come to Allston, I always stop by this bakery. Almond crepes are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The taste is a fantastic balance of rich nutty and sweet. Once you try it, you'll know what I mean.
K C: Expensive for typical Chinese bakery. I'd rather pay the same money and get something from Tous around the corner.
cat: Their birthday cake is very dry and doesn’t taste fresh at all. The taro one is the worst that tastes more savory than sweet.
Brendan Cunningham: Fresh and varied selection everyday. I visit at least once a week. Everything I've tried has been delicious but love their red bean bread, thick toast and egg tarts. Friendly staff.
KaLe E: My family use to go here almost every week, we loved their breads. It's been almost 10 years since we have last visited, but the filling/consistency has changed. The red bean bun had the tiniest red bean filling, kinda lame. When cutting the bun in half and looking at the center you can see that the bakers didn't even fill out the bun.Taro bun was okay ...
Jainu Ajit: Such a cute bakery! Affordable prices and delicious pastries! Must try for sure
Mike: Small selection. Mooncakes we’re good.
George: I love their... Everything. So affordable and tasty! Even though everything only costs a couple dollars I always end up spending a ton here and buying bags of breads and pastries. Highly recommended.
Qimei Ran: 当日打电话预订生日蛋糕并取回,芋泥馅的,物美价廉,推荐!
Bianca Zhang: My favorite chinese/cantonese bakery place
Vincent Kuo: Great Asian cake and bread, friendly staff, affordable pricing. Can’t ask for a better Asian bakery.
Ken Kaku: The best fruit cake!
Otoshi Moni: Bad customer service. Asked the lady at the counter if they could write "happy birthday" on a cake, said they can't very rudely.
Sss Z: I got egg tarts and pineapple toast. The toast is nice. The egg tart is kind of not sweet enough for me.
Michael Furmaniuk: Nice Taiwan style bakery, some great options just wish they still did the zai dan mien bao.
Cindy Shyr: Most delicious Chinese bakery items.
Charlene Tsai: Used to be a five stars but the quality has decreased a lot.The red bean toast is still good but the taro toast is just toast. 404 taro not found 😔😔😔😔Pineapple cakes and wife cake are mediocre too.
Briana Cordova: My husband and I love to come down here to walk around and we always make sure to stop by here to grab something! Very friendly staff, too!
Weiyu L.: Went there sometimes, cakes taste good. But today, the casher had an extremely disparaging look when I asked a package size about red beam cakes!! I do not know why. Will not go there anymore..
Heather Cook: SO YUMMY! I love that everything has labels and prices, super transparent and cute.
