Boston Martial Arts Center: what do users think?
L AR: I have been training at Boston Martial Arts for more than 10 years. After trying a number of different martial arts and schools, I was thrilled to find a dojo that is inclusive and diverse, offers a fun and cooperative learning environment, and teaches a really engaging and interesting art. After having had a bad experience at another dojo I realized how important it is to have a teacher that I deeply respect and whom I could see myself learning from for a very long time, and Mr. Mark Davis is that for me.I trained here throughout my grad school years and return to train whenever I can even though I no longer live in the area because the school and the art have beclme an important part of my life.Highly recommend.
Aditi Agrawal: Positive:Professionalism,ValueExtremely good. An important component in my daily life . :)
Andrew Norton: Truly unique and amazing atmosphere. Although I am simply a beginner, I have trained in different martial arts systems in the past, and the Boston Martial Arts Center is by far the best school I have trained at. Our teacher, Mark Davis is perhaps the best individual I have studied under in any field. The entire staff are amazing ; welcoming, professional, fierce practitioners. This is 'Real Self Defense' and a fascinating system. As students we also benefit from being in a School that has direct connections to Mr. Stephen K. Hayes, and Hatsumi Sensei. Unbeatable!
Cyrus Bardouille: I liked the focus the classes and environment helped me to develop. Being able to channel my hyper activity into calming my spirit and building mind and body allowed me to grow.
No Name: I've been a student here for ten years. I've trained at other martial arts schools, and in other systems, and I have never found a more welcoming place, where the instructors are not only dedicated to giving their students the best training in self defense available, but also to helping their students better themselves through the martial arts. Mark Davis, the head teacher, keeps the atmosphere fun and family friendly, while also delivering the most serious treatment on the subject of getting home safely. This isn't a sport martial arts school; the training available here has only one purpose- to keep you safe. It has the added side effects of building confidence, agility, strength, and a sense of purpose. This school really brings out the best in people, and the people who train and teach here are the best in the world.
Joe Szep: Mark Davis is a highly knowledgable, friendly, and patient instructor. He is a rare source of accumulated knowledge and wisdom. You are encouraged to learn new skills and develop yourself. I have made many friends at the dojo. It feels like family to me there. Whether you are interested in learning self-defense or martial arts, you should come by, check out the dojo, and try a class!
Jennifer Kronmiller: great atmosphere.
Robert R.: Bad Atmosphere.

Ilya Borisov: Kung fu school! Cool style! Realy unic!

Wah Lum Wellness Methuen MA: Outstanding school with generations of experience teaching and sharing the martial arts

Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?
Erik Gee: I've been going to CCMAA for the past 12 years now since I was 5. The community is fantastic and has been an integral part of my life ever since.
Gabriel Balderas Aviles: My daughter started taking classes here about 3 months ago and she's been very happy with her teacher, Lucien, who is an awesome teacher for the children of all ages. He keeps them focused and gives them well reasoned explanations of why they're doing the moves. I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in learning Kung Fu.
Betty Ly: My kids take the youth beginner class and the instructor is awesome!
Sara Kolaczyk: I have been going to Calvin Chins martial arts academy for over ten years now and I’ve learned so much in that time. It was such a great community to grow up in. All the teachers are great and it’s so much fun
Xiaoshu Jing: My students had an 1 hour lesson at Calvin Chin Martial Arts Academy yesterday. They had great fun! 3 Kungfu Masters are so professional. Love it!
Stephen Yu: I have been a disciple of Grand Master Calvin Chin for the last 6 years and benefited a great deal from his teaching and knowledge on improving my martial arts skills and health conditioning. I found the combination of Tai Chi and Shaolin Hung Kuen is unique and complementary for balance, speed, and power. The school has excellent facility and class curricula for all age groups.
Sabrina G: I have learned so much in the 11 years that I have been attending the academy. The environment is so welcoming and I always look forward to classes!
Zachary Iwatsuki: I've been going to Calvin Chins Martial Arts Academy for about 10 years. Over the course of that time I've learned about my inner self and how the body should move to make the greatest force against something. I've also made a brand new family with a lot of friends. But most importantly, I've learned how to defend my self in bad situations. These days, there are more cases of rape, assault etc., and self defense can make a difference in the outcome of these horrific cases. I strongly suggest going here.

Yang's Martial Arts Association Boston: what do users think?
John Cataldo: Excellent productive, creative learning environment staffed with learned and caring staff !In an
Matt Johnson: i went to an intro class in push hands that turned into a nightmare. the class was taught by two instructors one of which was not actually an instructor. We started pushing hands and when i bested the "non instructor who formerly was a state trooper, he dropped his shoulder and pommeled me upward into my jaw. He broke 5 teeth and dislocated my jaw. i do not recommend this school.
zenaida Gonzalez: My son enjoys it a lot
George Dominguez: Great place, full of love and respect.
Ali Mammadov: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Rachel Nenner-Payton: Ben is playful and rigorous. A perfect combination for our 7 year old son.
Nicholas Boston: There are plenty of "McDojos" all over - this, is not one of them. The moment you start training traditional martial arts at YMAA, you realize what's real and what's fake. If you expect training to be easy, you will be sorely mistaken (note: the training here is always extremely careful.) The instructor is amazing and you immediately feel like (and become a part of) a family. I cannot recommend this school enough!

Wu Dao Kung Fu & Tai Chi: what do users think?
Henry Bradford: I'm constantly looking forward to my next class at Wu Dao. Shifu Lindsay Lambert is an excellent teacher with a broad range of martial arts expertise -- she often says that good Tai Chi is relevant to everything, mentioning principles of Choy Lay Fut, Sanda, Shuai Jiao, and other arts. The Tai Chi class environment is friendly and motivating, while also cultivating depth and seriousness when it comes to technique. It feels like the kind of training I want to be doing for a long time. I started attending not long after a surgery, and Shifu Lindsay checked in with me to make sure the training and conditioning was going well and feeling doable as I recovered. Every week I feel more and more natural in the foundational Tai Chi I'm learning, and Qigong and conditioning exercises have been perfect for getting mobile and flexible again after a period of inactivity. Soon I hope to start training in the Kung Fu classes as well. This place is the real deal!
Tony Garita: Martial arts could be intimidating for new students, but I can say that Wo Dao is such a friendly environment that you will love to train and learn, besides that our instructor is amazing patient explain step-by-step inspire you to come back next class!! give it a try it’s life-changing.Tony
Junyi Yang: Best teacher! I’m not very good at sports but here I really enjoyed learning martial arts and I gradually build my muscles and confidence.
Liesbeth van den Berg: I have been studying kung fu at Wu Dao for about 11 years now, and coming to class several times a week is still something I prioritize over everything save life-threatening emergencies.Lindsay has been a wonderful teacher, with both a deep and wide knowledge of the various aspects of Chinese martial arts, from kicking, punching, blocking and locking to throwing. She keeps it varied and fun while at the same time making sure we absolutely nail the foundations such as stances, breathing, and posture.Studying at Wu Dao has kept me fit, strong, and de-stressed!
Carolyn Wilkins: I have been a faithful student of Tai Chi at Wu Dao for over ten years. I have learned so much! Lindsay is a wonderful teacher - knowledgeable, clear, and very patient. She fosters a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to push their limits and be their very best. If you are ready to expand your horizons and join a supportive community, Wu Dao Kung Fu is the school for you!
Naomi Dworkin: I have been practicing Tai Chi at Wu Dao for over 10 years. The quality of the instructors and classes has been consistently high the whole time. The new space in Watertown is bright and airy, and the other students make it a fun experience. Shifu Lindsay consistently challenges us with new and higher level practices, giving us plenty of time to learn the new material. She also always explains the martial art basis of the movements. Definitely recommend it for people to check out.
Shelby El Otmani: By far the best experience I've had at a martial arts school. If you're interested in developing an in-depth and well-rounded practice, you'll learn a lot from Sifu Lindsay and the entire Wu Dao community. I'm so happy I joined!
Daniel Mirabito: Great tai chi and Kung fu instruction and workouts. Good fundamental instruction for newbie and deep understanding of the art for senior students.
Bhanu Jain: I first joined Wu Dao in 2017 when I was searching for ways to train my mind and body to live a more wholehearted life; I couldn't be more grateful to have found this place! I have been a recurring student at Wu Dao since. Whether your goal is to train and participate in professional martial arts, or just to find a perfect balance of mind/body workout each week, Wu Dao is the place to go. Wu Dao is one of the few schools that teach traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi in Boston area; our Shifu caters to each student according to their level, while pushing them to unlock their next potential. Our fellow students and members are extremely kind and empathetic, making each class not only educational but also fun! Also, the review is incomplete without special mention of our 'Sojie', who you get to play with at every class. Who's Sojie? Well, there's one way to find out: Sign up today!
Kristin Schaven: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWu Dao classes are fun and challenging, the ability of the instructor to lead a quality class for students at all different levels is astonishing. The community of students is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Alex Stoyanov: I have been going here for over 12 years, and I absolutely love it. The instructor (and owner) is amazing and I love the method of training. This is the place to go if you want to learn self defense, or just want a place to train your body (and mind).
J N: I have been a practitioner of traditional kung fu for about 10 years. I am nowhere near being a master, but I definitely feel like I know a legit Chinese Martial Arts school when I see one. Wu Dao is the real deal! I had the pleasure of meeting Sifu Lindsay in person in August and attending one of her classes. The training methodologies are legit, the techniques are practical and feel immediately applicable in a real fight situation, and the experience is just pleasant all around. The CMA community here in the states can really use more practitioners and instructors like Lindsay. She knows how to respect traditional teachings and customs, but also bridge the gap between when the systems were invented way back when and how to train them effectively fit in to the modern world. You're not going to find a dogmatic school stuck in the past in Wu Dao.If you want to learn real kung fu in the greater Boston area with traditional and modern training methodologies, this place is definitely one of your best bets!
Sheppard Ferguson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI have been a fan of Wu Dao for ten years. Shifu Lindsay (owner and instructor) is able to integrate advanced practitioners with beginners, unlike many studios. She also has introduced me to a variety of techniques and disciplines, broadening my practice.
Samantha: Wu Dao is an excellent school. You will learn to move fluidly, with power and grace, without hurting your body. New students will focus on stances and leg work. The instructors are attentive and will help you develop your body's strength and flexibility. The gong fu curriculum includes qin na. I recommend also taking the tai ji classes offered here for the best development of your body and mind. Correct breathing is emphasized. You will learn qi gong, and how to apply it to your movements.Unlike many other schools, you will actually practice sparring at Wu Dao with MMA-style safety equipment. I can not stress how useful it is to have the movements covered in class put to practice, in a place you can still receive feedback. This helps develop an understanding of spacing and misdirection. They also have a good relationship (discounted classes, overlap in student body) with a nearby sanda gym, Sanda Fighting Arts, where you can learn sanshou and shuai jiao -- Chinese boxing and Mongolian wrestling, respectively. This gym is a hidden gem of the greater Boston region and should be sought out by anyone seeking to become robust in combat sports. Wu Dao is a safe and encouraging place for women and queer folks, as all places should be.My only wish is that the classes were longer than an hour.
Guillaume Gallani: Lots of space (which not all dojos here have), great teachers.
Ron Nigro: Best teachers. Best students. Can't say enough.
최성환: Awesome gym!!!good good
