Steven Van Dyke: Kate helped us to remodel our backyard. Her plan was elegant and she executed it with great attention to detail. She helped us to maximize the space, and to use it in new ways. She connected us with a very capable contractor for the building of a new wall and new deck. She included us throughout the design process and was always very responsive to our questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Offshoots to anyone looking to beautify, re-imagine and enliven their outdoor spaces.
Corey Zehngebot: Kate and team are fantastic to work with. They were able to transform a small, urban, north-facing backyard into a functional, beautiful, and lush space for a family with small children. The yard now is now a green oasis in the city thanks to the careful selection of plants and flowers and thoughtful detailing!

Laura Lechner: Mark has been managing our front and back gardens in the South End since 2013. He has been responsible and responsive. He listens to my wishes and makes them happen! His color and design work is wonderful and I'm always so pleased to see everything after he is done planting. His plants are top-quality. He's always available for a consultation and he quickly replaced a plant that was not flourishing (that only happened once in all these years). I look forward to continuing to work with him.
Adeo Alday: I can't wait again this year for my roof top planters organized and water irrigation connected as the weather gets better over time. Mark on the rescue in couple of weeks! He did a wonderful job last year choosing the right trees, grass, plants etc and putting them together to compliment my furniture and create a special space I enjoyed so much with friends and relatives. Amy Goldminz: South End Gardens has been making our gardens beautiful for eight years. We have a front garden, a back garden as well as a roof top garden. Mark knows our favorite color palette - purple, yellow, blue and white - and makes sure we have blooms popping up throughout the season. Mark is very creative and offers wonderful suggestions to help make our vision a reality. He comes in early spring to plant, then visits multiple times in the summer to make sure that everything remains healthy, lush and beautiful. Mark lives in our neighborhood, and is just a phone call away if something needs tending. In the late fall, the clean up and winterizing of our sprinkler system leaves everything immaculate and ready for the next spring. I would highly recommend South End Gardens to anyone who wants a beautiful garden and great service.

Kevin Gill: Had a really awful experience with this company. Full disclosure - I'm admittedly a smaller client, I have a small 10'x10' garden in front of my brownstone that they've serviced in the past. I called the owner (Mark) in the first week of April to try to get them scheduled to come back and he told me they were booked for the entire season. Mind you, my garden is probably 2-3 hours of work, and the landscaping season doesn't end until at least seven months from now, but he is completely booked? The condescending/arrogance over email and lack of interest in the work made the everyday customer like me feel like I couldn't have been less important to this company. Searched Angie's List and found a 5-star company who couldn't have been more pleasant and were happy to take on the work.

Gregory Joseph: Beware of this company, and their drivers. They are careless and not willing to own up and pay for damages which they may cause!One of their drivers backed into my parked car, and then drove off. I live across the street from the driver, and confronted him about hitting me, and he apologized, and gave me his companies contact information. The company took a couple weeks, but finally got back to me, and denied all responsibility, and is now refusing to pay for the damages to my parked car. Which by the way only total $600.00.If you look at any of their trucks, they are all riddled in bumber damage. I recommend you choosing another landscaping company before having them park on/near your property and vehicles. This is not professional way to treat people, and to think that I was trying to be a nice guy by giving them a chance to own up to the damage before having to try and chase down their insurance company, and possibly have that increase their premiums.

Elizabeth Caruso: We used Green Op for several years, as the company has grown and expanded. Josh has been generous, accommodating, and communicative. They did our regular lawn and garden maintenance, plus spring and fall startup/cleanup. The mowing and cleanup were great for a long time. GreenOp always adjusted their services to the specific needs of our gardens each season.I value the personal relationship we have with Josh, and I like supporting a young person's local business.However, as GreenOp has grown, the crews who came to us changed. The workers did not seem to think about what they were doing, and had no actual plant knowledge. Without supervision, the work suffered. Leaves and grass got blown into our pond. Perennials were pulled up because someone thought they were weeds and didn't check. Some tasks on the spring or fall list we're not done or done wrong. This past spring, the cleanup was only partially done, and, inexplicably, several shrubs were hard pruned, ruining the shape and cutting off this year's blooms. At that point, I reluctantly discontinued our relationship with GreenOp. I recognize that Josh needs to make his company profitable, and he also wanted to try to keep me as a customer. Unfortunately, our needs no longer fit GreenOp's business model. I appreciate Josh's efforts and wish them well as the company matures.

Jennifer West: I hired Holland Tree & Landscaping to remove a tree that had fallen on my roof during a recent windstorm. Initially they did a great job, came quickly when most companies were booked, safely removed a fairly large section of tree in tight quarters, and charged a decent price. However it was my understanding from a conversation with a worker that they would make a clean cut at the tree where the large top section broke off. (We discussed where to make the cut.) It wasn't until they had lowered the crane that I realized they did not do this portion of work. I spoke with Leo about returning and scheduled it for while I was out of town. (This is an insurance claim situation so I was willing to pay.) I returned to find the work not complete. I contacted his scheduler and still have not received a response a week and a half later. Now I am stuck with a broken tree top. So initial work was decent, follow up..not so much.
