YMCA of Greater Boston - Huntington Ave: what do users think?
erika: Amazing, clean, lovely staff. I’m so thankful for the 2 free personal training sessions I got! Jonah taught me how the strength machines work and it opened up so many opportunities. Now the gym isn’t just a place to walk on the treadmill. It’s a community, a place to work on goals, to get fit and healthy, and it’s therapeutic! Love the Y!
Ruth Khowais: The Y offers many exercise classes, and they are all well run. I also appreciate that they are community-oriented, hosting camp for children, meals for school children, and community dinners for the neighborhood.
Corey Morrell: Always busy. Always. Too many people too little equipment. Huge functional area taking up too much space where there can be 12 other hammer strength or other things.
Kevin Koerner: The gym & workout areas are nice, newer equipment & clean. Many of the cardio machines have been out of order & I would like wireless connection on these machines for ear buds or headphones. Some locker room lockers are rusting and should have rust removed & repainted with oil based paint.
jay weber: a beautiful pool, rarely crowded at the times I swim.
Johnson MrBear: Have done a COVID booster here. The people are friendly. Got Pfizer and 75$ gift card! Awesome deal!
Dahlia Popovits: The Oak Square, Allston, YMCA, has so far been my favorite. I love the water aerobic classes...a different class for every day of the week. The instructors are clear with instruction, and care that you do not hurt yourself, at the same time. The facility is clean and comfortable, and very well organized. Highly recommend!
M.M. L.F.: Many scheduling options, clean and spacious facilities. The pool could be a little warmer though.
Katie Heney: Great value and conveniently located. Facilities are clean and equipment is well relatively well maintained. Everything you need is here weights, pool, great class options, etc and staff is friendly. I look forward to going to the Huntington YMCA! Would recommend!
Ann Beha: the pool is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The exercise floor is always well staffed and well equipped. Im impressed by the cleanliness and was very touched to see lifeguards help older people get in and out of the pool. Bravo Y!
Michael Dauwer: Home
Robert Melo: Good service and people. Excellent Machine.
Monica VRodríguez: I thought it was the best place where I can workout. At my 45 dealing with a sedentary lifestyle I thought this was the best decision to be healthy physical and mentally, but it was a great disappointment. Some group classes instructors are just rude, impolite and petulant. Seems like they’re trying to sabotage the YMCA so that the number in their classes does not increase. We don’t pay a monthly membership to get bullied by a instructor repeating your name all the time demanding positions while I was trying to strengthen my body while trying to train my ear to understand the names of yoga poses in English. I’m not a beginner and I use to fallow the others, like everyone but is was mostly my name that I hear and things where escalating. I’m not writing this lightly, but I decided to write this review because is so unfair that a great place like this is being sabotaged by this kind of persons.
Norberto Campos: I love this place is great been great to me In our community God blesses place
Rachel Peranzi: I've had a wonderful experience at the Y but it is extremely upsetting that their child watch still isn't open in urban areas when it has reopened wealthy suburban areas. It doesn't feel equitable and dramatically impacts my ability to go to the Y. I even emailed with Marvin Morel, Membership Experience Manager, and he just ghosted on the subject when I pointed this out.But that aside, the facilities are wonderful, children's swim classes have been awesome and the guy in charge there is so nice, and my experience with Jen for personal training has been amazing.
Franerys Ventura: I love swimming lessons because my baby has learned so much
Herbatitans l: Been going there sence 2019 it just that you have to know when is the best time to go there. Because it can get pack real quick.
Petr Horvath: They have a good amount of squat racks. 5/5
Zak Binx: Gym is pretty much unusable during peak hours.Random hours are also full enough you'll struggle to get to things like squat racks or free weights. No leg curl machine, and leg extension machine is broken and had been for 6 months. If you want treadmill or bikes, no one uses those and there is plenty
Allan Valerio: Good gym but they should extend the opening hours!! Closing at 6pm on a Saturday...
Kandise Kanelos: Great summer camp, my daughter loves going there and loves all of the activities. She comes home happy and tired everyday!

Karla Milan: Ellen was great she answered all my questions if I was confused about anything. Will hope to see her again in 2 years
Joseph P: Great presentation! The hybrid class was excellent. The Trainer had great knowledge and presentation. Trainer also made the group feel comfortable and confident. I strongly recommend this training center for all your CPR needs.
Bradley Case: I would recommend to anyone wishing to learn CPR and AED usage.
Joyce Morganelli: It was a good experience. Brian taught well, allowed us to ask questions at any time. Hands on practice was individual and as a team. Overall a good experience.
Samantha Mansfield: Had the pleasure of taking CPR/First Aid certification courses here in GBST Woburn. Ellen was a fantastic instructor. Got the information clearly to us, let us ask questions, and did demonstrations for and with us. It was the best red cross training I've attended in six years. I felt I learned updated and truly useful information. Thank you!
Julie Donnelly: Took the Saturday Red Cross adult/pediatric cpr/first aid/aed class. The trainer was wonderful, she was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the class fun. The room was large enough for all 10 of us, and the technology worked well. One thing to note: parking lot is very small.
Cherline Vilnor: Contents clear and relevant. Great course
Charu Walia: It was a wonderful, very informative, thorough and hand on class. The instructor Stacy was very knowledgeable and made sure to give clear instructions, examples and scenarios to get the actual idea of what it would like if you would have to provide basic life support. All the props used in class were clean and in very good condition. I had a very good experience and would definitely recommend the class to anyone.
Johnrey Conde: Nice presentation, 5/5
Adewunmi Oluwaseun: The trainer was fantastic in delivering the entire course's content.
Kate Gleason: Very Professional and informative
Yohanda De Jesus-Diaz: Had fun. John was a great instructor and funny.

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center: what do users think?
Mike Fitzpatrick: I like it
David Moore: If you’re an adult looking for weekend access to a basketball court, don’t bother with this place.Court is rented all weekend basically and half the time it’s also rented on weekdays. I’m unsure when Im then supposed to play basketball here. There’s Men’s play on Wednesday but if you’re like me and Wednesdays aren’t convenient to play, you’re SOL.Also on Sundays they don’t open until 2 so hope you don’t want to work out or play Sunday mornings
Carollynn kraft: Took off with Brotherhood Banquet the move out to the State of Rhode Island USA is the Fire Fighters Brotherhood the Balloon Bubble Mortgage the player from Health Care Proxy 5LINX 15 Maple Street #203 Dorchester Mass 02121 aka Durable Power of Attorney 588 Columbus Avenue Boston Massachusetts 02118 the player
Kevin Krueger: The amenities here are extremely nice
Alexandria Stoddard: WOW!! This made for a super fun cold winter day diversion in Boston for our little family. My kids 2 and 5 swam for a few hours and thoroughly enjoyed the mini water slide and fun splash pool features. There is also a lot to do there for older kids with a tall waterslide for 48" and above as well as a lazy river. Not a big space but super clean and has very attentive lifeguard staff!! The family changing rooms with a shower and ample changing space were an awesome bonus. It is in a slightly rough neighborhood thus the security upon entry; however we felt safe throughout our entire visit including playing in the neighborhood playground after.
Faze Raptor: The pool is good but it’s so stupid how it opens randomized you guys need to have a schedule
Dailson F: This place seriously needs to get better employees and reduce their membership prices. So much for serving the community. Capitalism at it’s finest. (Profit, profit, profit is what they seek by charging expensive membership fees with limited access to some of the areas in the gym).
Kelvin Mack: Great place to help a lot of people in it
K. S.: They are the worst at communication. The aquatic staff is not supportive of community kids needing support from the neighborhood 😕 we don't have pools so does that mean our children can't be swimmers ? There is no where for our children needing to condition for winter school sports to practice. Today unbelievably the croc center was absolutely rude to me and my child who is on a community swim team eager to get back into the sport after COVID-19 restrictions...The uneducated lady who answers the phone has knowledge of NOTHING at the croc center . WELP THANKS FOR TRYING TO STEAL HER SPIRIT. We will be going to the Boston YMCA.... at least they could suggest times when the pool is open and not so crowded stay movated don't let anyone STEAL your dream ... NO THANKS TO THE FANCY CROC CENTER total thumbs 👎👎👎👎
A M: Amazing space. My son has had a great time in after school program, on the basketball team and will be starting summer camp with them soon.
robert hector: Wonderful
Kofi Boateng: This place is a relatively decent place to work out within the community. There are very few fitness centers within the Dorchester community, so it's nice to be able to have this as an option. They recently added some new equipments after reopening during the pandemic. Most staff are cordial, which I appreciate.
charlene lewis: Early voting place
Jeanette Bailey: Helpful.
La viajera con niños: Sus clases en las mañanas son muy buenas.
Randall Pedroza: Great people and affordable family fun
Kayla Smith: Really fun. I've come here since I was a kid and some how I end up back. But I'm not complaining. The staff are great the area fun. I definitely recommend
Beteline Nherisson: My kids always has a good time whenever we go there.
Vanessa Simon: Awesome facility
Kapone Cooper: Great place for the family to swim and go to the gym
Elizabeth N.: Great place for my kid

Dorchester YMCA: what do users think?
Den Den: The Dorchester YMCA has been a great experience. I joined for many reasons and from the receptionist Shante, to the spin instructor Marilyn and my swim instructor Robert all have made this journey such great experience. I went into swim with no expectations because drowning was always my fear. Robert guided me and was patient with me every class. He showed me the basics to lead me to feeling comfortable to doing all that we practiced on my own. He is really a great teacher /instructor, very positive attitude, and hands on. I continue to use his guidance whenever I'm there. Its been a joy being apart of the Y experience.
Elle Marrone: Friendly people, neighborhood feel, clean workout rooms, and equipment is in good condition.
Leanora “His queen” DiGaetano: My 8 year old LOVES your pool!
Moses Andrade: The mens bathroom not clean just smells bad.
Moe Rego: Positive:Professionalism,QualityMs. Shontae, Brotha Sam, and the staff have been friendly, professional, and helpful!
Gloria R Chapman (Glo): Happy water aerobics classes are offered!!
Matthew Gibson: Positive:QualityThe Dorchester Y has a pool that is open year-round, even in these crazy times. So establish or renew your membership and grow healthier holistically.
JoAnn Smith: The Zumba Here is Awesome!
Charles Horner: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI enjoy the time I spend at the Ymca. I feel it is very important to invest 💯 in your health and wellness. The Ymca provides a safe and clean place to work out ( amazing gym) I appreciate the commitment to the community also 👍
kimberly sadberry: Zumba classes are the best! A studio full of people interested in getting a good work out, having fun, and doing something good for ourselves. The instructors are welcoming and full of high energy! :)
Lisa T: The swimming instructors are patient with the children
Julia Roy: Great people, great facility, affordable membership price
Ociny Marius: This is a good place to send your child.
Russell Mcgee: Clean and friendly, the staff are very helpful, I enjoy my time there..
Lydia Harden: I love the Dorchester Y. They have the best staff, you never have to wait for equipment, and the pool is great. Also it is literally the cleanest YMCA (or gym) I have experienced. Super affordable monthly price. Enough said!
M P: Best swimming lessons for my kids
Gina Montalvo: Girls did good the gym was nice
Simona Rits: The staff that runs the kids karate program is great! They are so patient with the little ones, and great at getting them engaged.
Maruquel Sinclair: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Michele Dent: The staff are extremely knowledgeable and have years of experience in their Individual fields of expertise. Most importantly, they are dedicated, loyal, and lifelong members of our community. Thus, they understand the struggles that children must overcome in order to be successful in life. They work extremely well as a team and they have a shared vision of success for the organization as well as the community as a whole. Coach Trey, Coach D, Sensei Marvin Harris, Sensei Jerome Harris, Sensei Jerome and all of the staff work hard to create a safe and nurturing environment that is centered around teaching the whole child. They constantly go beyond the call of duty in order to meet the needs of the children in their care. It is truly reassuring and inspirational to witness this level of compassion and empathy from the teachers at the YMCA. It truly does take a village to raise a child and the YMCA has always been an integral component of this village in our community.
Carla Casey: The pool is always the right temperature. The instructor is FABULOUS!!!

Boston University Swimming Lessons: what do users think?
Louis Keen: Nice pool
Betsy Yates: Really nice instructor and a great facility for swim lessons - lower lighting, small pool ideal for young learners. Not sure if it was a scheduling snafu between swim meets and community swim time, but one of our lessons was overtaken by lap swimmers which made it impossible for our kid to do his lesson laps. Called main office, but they weren’t very concerned.
Chris Karl: Various classes for all ages. Visit the BU fitrec website for details. Classes don't require BU affiliation.
Pruthvi Reddy: The pool is top notch worth it
Bill Nash: Top notch operation from the pool manager (Dave) to the Vice President of Construction, and the Project Manager with whom I met with almost daily. I found them to be very demanding, but also very helpful, as my company restored a somewhat dilapidated competition swimming pool bulkhead. With the bulkhead completed, and substantial restoration of the entire pool finished by the general contractor, this years competition will be in a pool that looks as good as, or possibly even better than, the year the pool and the bulkhead were brand new.Guests should be sure to bring cameras and video recorders, because this year promises to be unforgettable.

Goldfish Swim School - Brookline: what do users think?
Bena Apreala: Sent my daughter (4 years old) here for 8 months.Good for becoming familiar with the water. Hyper friendly staff. Didn’t learn much, but was a step forward from being unfamiliar with the water. 3/5 stars because it’s welcoming and well run, but not the best at teaching kids to swim. Is a good stepping stone for a more involved and effective swim school. Also: Kids typically have a different teacher every week, slightly hindering progress due to the fact that they are unaware of each students needs
Sara O'Connor: I LOVE this place!! The staff is so friendly and my kids love coming. The facility is fun clean and bright.
Andrew Kazakoff: Staff is highly experienced and handles all kids well. They know exactly what to do in every situation. They are easy to schedule with and the price is very reasonable for the high quality service that they give.
William Jones: It is nice for kids and teens
Donielle Buie: Love the warm pool for all my kids, including one with a chronic illness. The structure of the classes helps the kids make real progress!
Patrick S: A well run and efficient center that is expensive and ineffective at teaching kids to swim.My kids attended from September 2021 until June 2022 and neither progressed in their ability to swim. Is this because my children are flawed, or is it because the instructors are ineffective? My older child faced many changes in instructors over this time, limiting his ability to develop any kind of consistency. Obviously the new staff he saw each week were unaware of his history and unable to encourage him effectively to overcome his fears. My daughter did have a consistent instructor, but he focused primarily on getting kids comfortable with water and sped through the skills without teaching them.In all this time the kids were supposed to be evaluated monthly. My son was only evaluated four times and my daughter three. My son progressed on only two of the ten skills evaluated. My daughter progressed on two and went backwards on five. The place is clean and efficient. The staff are friendly. But what’s the point if they don’t learn to swim?(And to the manager who responds to negative reviews with a request for a call, don’t bother. I did call. Your staff responded “well, kids are at different levels.” Yes, and it’s your job to teach them so that they progress.)
Ber Almeida: My 6 year old was not very pleased with the academy, and one day there was an issue they had with staff calling out. The manager Tim stepped in and was able to offer very surprising and amazing options, he asked Anna to take the class, she was very sweet and patient. After that session my kid said that was the best class she ever had at the school. I understand that there are issues in business but the way to handle situations and solve those issues, Tim was really kind and really exceeded our expectations. If we stay in the Brookline area, we will continue to attend. Also a big shout out to Mak, for her loving way to teach and the positive impact she has made in my 3 year old daughter, Tess will always remember you with a smile.
David Fidler: Good set up for young kids learning to swim
Robert Jones: Rude instructors, disorganized and unprofessional.
sarah barrett: My son, Finnegan, wouldn't put his face in the water before coming to Goldfish - after his first 30 minute trial lesson, he was eager to go back. Within a month he was begging for more time in the water at the end of his lessons. Within a few more weeks, he was putting his face in the water in the shower after class - without his goggles! He has made incredible improvement and I am so thrilled and impressed by his success. Thank you Goldfish Brookline!! Ps. I love that you give out ribbons at the end of each class - we have them hanging in his room - it provides such motivation & positive reinforcement!!
Paivi Albaiti: Warm water, great teachers and pleasant atmosphere, my kids are finally enjoying their swimming classes!
R. Swartz: They are not transparent with their no refund policy. No mention was made upon payment, nor are there any signs on location stating "no refund." The staff is not accommodating to parents that are paying the high membership fees! The staff at the front desk is rude and not willing at all to help. Good luck getting a call back. You would think they would be welcoming and a little more warm to someone who was sending their kid there for 4 months of lessons.
Sarena Nichol: My kids (6 and 9) loved lessons at Goldfish. They've been asking to do more lessons since our week long intensive this summer. My only complaint is how fast lessons are filled up. We missed our chance to sign up for the last session.
Paola Michelle Contreras: I thought the parent-child swim classes for my daughter were excellent. She became used to the water and learned quickly that water can be fun and also something to be careful in. She quickly understood that the edge of the pool was the safest place to be. We attended when she was in her early twos for about six months. I tried to transition her to independent classes per the instructors suggestion but I didn't think that it was a good fit. She really hated being with the instructors without me and I gave up after six weeks of protest. However, I liked the environment enough that I might try to take her back after she has started pre-school and more used to separating from us.
Brocc: My son 5yrs has been at Goldfish Swim classes since around the end of June and before he was very afraid of water, after months he is able to swim, go deep under the water, float and he loves to go to his classes, every kid has a different time frame to learn and sometimes could take time. I highly recommend the Goldfish Swim School, my son enjoy to learn swim techniques and I enjoy watch his progress, thanks to the instructor Adrian.
Janet Williams: My great granddaughter has enjoyed attending swim classes, she’s on vacation in Florida, but will resume her classes in the fall. She is more confident in exercising the various skills to help her learn to swim and navigate the water. Her instructors have always shown patience and care with each of their participants. She has been practicing some of her techniques here in Florida! We look forward to returning soon.(Score 10 out of 10)
Angela Perez: It is a safe and clean environment for the kids and staff are very professional they watch every single step of the swimmers, my daughter was afraid first two times but after she is confidence and every Friday she is very excited to try again. She is learning so fast
Ariana Serrano: This swim school is absolutely HORRIBLE. $171 a month for what ? My 3 year old son goes here and all they do is sit him on the ledge half the time and he’s either by himself or with one other kid. The instructors always look MISERABLE, even the girls at the front desk. A YMCA is so much better than this.
Antonio Aurelio Fagundes Jr.: My kid had a terrible experience at Goldfish Brookline. I would never recommend it.
Jackie Palacios: Very good place for all kids type of ages to learn how to swim and learn to have fun inside the water.Instructors are very patient, friendly and know what they're doing when it comes teaching kidsThe only thing I recommend is if kids are doing above and beyond and trying their best with their lessons to continue rewarding them like they where doing before. My son loves it and his been going there since 2018
Lena Kikuchi: Great place for kids to learn to swim. Friendly staff, very well trained and organized. Space is bright and very clean. Flexible make up schedules and very accommodating to fit your family's needs! Highly recommended!

West Suburban YMCA: what do users think?
Fatikhan Gasimov: Horrible. I signed up to use pool but i couldn't. Too many people at the same time. Waste of money as well as time.
Joh Kangiser: Great facilities, friendly pool staff
Vitaliy Kates: Terrible staff, don’t recommend any of the perosnal trainers, best to use it for basketball and workouts on your own. Highly dissatisfied and very disappointed. Can’t even take my shirt off to flex for the mirror/camera. Very inappropriate behavior from staff.
Paul Zeitler: I enjoy this YMCA! But there has to be something done about the High School Students sitting on their phones while on the equipment! Many people are complaining, but no one's speaking up!
J A: Worst experience of my life with any fitness center. Great disappointment, I use to go there in the 70s n early eighties it was great. Thought I'd go back to have my son learn to swim. I was promised a spot on a three to four month wait-list.Went through the motions followed the rules checked in months, later they forgot about us. We didn't exist. That's my experience in 20222.. very sad
Dianne Coscia: It’s awesome
Summersunshine: It has excellent pool. Staffs are extremely friendly. This ymca is much more new and clean than branches. Highly recommend this ymca!!
Maori W: I like this place in general. The basketball court with wood floor is well maintained. The front desk is always welcoming and helpful. However, the pool schedule is absolutely not youth friendly. There are only two afternoons per week, both on the weekend, where the pool is open to youth. According to the schedule, one lane is reserved as a youth lap during these time periods. However, every time we were there, all lanes were occupied by adults. There is no sign out there indicating which lane is for the youth lap. My kids never get the chance to use the youth lap successfully with their first try. They kept getting yelled at and kicked out by the life guards for using the wrong lane. They were also told they can't share the lane with an adult. But why allow adults in the youth lap during youth swim time in the first place? Why not put up the youth lap sign? They are also not allowed to use rec lane because they swim laps?!I am giving this review because, for one thing, I don't like the lifeguards throwing their weights around those kids (Not all lifeguards are blameful, some of them did try to help); for another thing, I don't think it is fair for the kids to be treated in this way given that they were the ones who followed the schedule from the beginning.
C. Pappas: The staff at the Y is amazing and they are very careful about Covid. The camp counselors are well trained and are very concerned about safety in all areas. My son had a wonderful time and I would sign up again in a heartbeat!
David Allen: Was a member as a kid.....a long time ago. Moved back to Newton 4-5 years ago and rejoined. Location convenient. They have made updates. Yes - Camp Frank A Day every summer for 2-4 weeks growing up. 2nd facility coming soon Wells Ave (the old BSC Newton).
Ron Peleg: Nice staff and decent equipment but absolutely horrendous mask enforcement in the middle of a pandemic. Staff will just let anyone work out with a chinstrap instead of a mask. Truly baffling how this place can be so lax about COVID safety measures. No vaccine requirement either. Work out at your own risk here!
Michael Bates: The pool schedule here is very poorly managed. It changes frequently with no notice, they allocate half to all of the lanes during peak hours to private use, and the lanes that are open are not regulated by swimmer speed (making circle swim effectively impossible). Other Y’s in greater Boston have reservation systems to mitigate these issues, so that hours/availability are fully transparent to members. I wish I still lived near one of them instead of this one. Its only redeeming feature is its location.
Hello!: The vibe and mood among people there is the most relaxing out of all the gyms I visited in the Boston area. I like the community aspect of it as they offer family friendly lessons and groups and there is an indoor track above the gym which is nice to walk and look below on the basketball court that always seems to have active games.
Jane Shattuc: Very friendly!
Insomnia Tech: Terrible Experience with Jennifer Plym
Bob Bob: I had been going to this gym for awhile, there had been the employee, Jenni Plym which would non-stop harass and follow me and my friends around. Yesterday my buddy was doing his PR, and he was unable to do the complete set. The weight was going to fall on his chest and me and my other friend went over to help. Jenni Plym came over and had suspended us for spotting. We ended up canceling all of our memberships because of Jenni Plym.
Dani Goldring: Great more affordable gym
Revathy Mahendra-Rajah: Fantastic family friendly gym with good options for gym classes & childcare for young ones.I especially enjoy the dance & keeping fit class for older adults & the instructor Jill who inspires our parents to get up & dance while learning many different styles of dance. The Y reaches out to young adults with disabilities & brings them in as volunteers & I enjoy interacting with them.Special shout out toKelly, Justin, Krissy & Tyler - receptionSamantha - membershipApril & Ivan - TrainerRaymond - track coachLaura - Human Resources👍👍
Chico Bonito: Amazing facilities infested by crabs: one has a feeling of awe when walking through this branch of the YMCA. There may be more room between the floor and the ceiling than between walls. The place is very well-maintained. Some narrow spaces.I would give it 4.5 Stars if it weren't for many of the people who work and work out there. Maybe it's a Massachusetts thing, but I have never felt more unwelcomed at a Y. Many of the young women who work at the front seem to have permanent sneers affixed.People are treated like they are impositions even by fellow y members. It would be great if management reaffirmed a commitment to openness and friendliness.
Janet Porcaro: The West Suburban YMCA is one of the cornerstones of the Newton community. Beautiful facility with state of the art equipment, brilliant staff, two fabulous pools. Every time I have a client moving to Newton, I recommend they join the West Suburban YMCA.
Steven McDermott: The building is old and therefore has dated facilities and heating/cooling, but the staff is wonderful and the machines/free weights are satisfactory.

Boston Red Cross Blood, Platelet and Plasma Donation Center: what do users think?
Ryan Taylor: The staff are kind people who work hard to make people comfortable. They've only been really busy once and they still took good care of me. Impressed how they work as a team.
Jailene Ramos: This happened last year and I forgot to write a review about it until now that I am looking to donate again and it seems this location has many available appointments compared to others. I had made an appointment and like many others in the reviews, showed up on time for my appointment and was turned away by an incredibly rude lady who gave me no good reason for rejecting my very valid appointment except for "we're full." Why would you have more appointment slots than you can handle? It was such a disappointing experience and I haven't donated blood since then because of it even though I'm O+ and it is greatly needed. I was going to try again and came to the reviews to see this habit hasn't changed so I think I'm good, I don't have time for this.
Arpit Jain: Really sweet people working here. I did a whole blood donation and it went great. Parking is free with a validated ticket at the garage next door
Bonnie Ho: I went to donate blood yesterday (02/19/2023) and had a great experience. Shout out to the team on staff yesterday. I have small veins so its difficult for people to find them, but they found a way and reassured me that I wasn’t a bother. There was also a person next to me who was super anxious but the a few staff members gave her comfort, held her hand, gave her an ice pack, etc.
E. Rockwell: Excellent center and very convenient! The staff is experienced, knowledgeable and kind! Donate blood and save lives!
Greg Kinlan: I showed up to give blood. The lady who administer the blood donation was very tired. She must have yawned 20/30 times in my presence through the intake and procedure. The actually blood donation was a nightmare. She inserted the needle into a bad vein and she needed to replaced by another phlebotomist. It was just a terrible experience. Go somewhere else honestly, the incentives are bad here because the experience is disappointing
Kyle Saylor: I am incessantly inundated by Red Cross with pleas for blood donations and every recent attempt to schedule an appointment at this donation center has resulted in day-of cancellation. My last attempt, they waited to tell me in person (after I had made the trip to the donation center) that they would not be able to facilitate my donation. It seems that the ‘critical’ need for blood donations isn’t enough motivation for the Red Cross to honor their appointments. I will continue my attempts to donate, but I am not impressed with this donation center.
Jonathan Leibovich: I attempted to donate blood earlier today and was greeted with two receptionists who had made up their mind about my appointment before I even said a word. I had scheduled an appointment earlier in the afternoon and was told that I didn’t have an appointment even though I had my rapid pass ready. I understand that it was an appointment late in the day and you want to go home, but to put in literally 0 effort for someone going out of their way to donate blood is just disappointing. If you’re going to put in the effort to donate blood, don’t do it here.
Aaron Arnold: I love my career with the Red Cross.
Jennifer Woods: I attempted to donate whole blood today and had an appointment time confirmed. When I showed up I was told it wasn’t in their “system” (which mind you was a piece of paper). The receptionist went to ask the nurse and she refused to take anyone without an appointment. I showed the receptionist that my appointment was confirmed and thus I did have an appointment but they refused to allow me to donate. Seems like a pretty questionable system and practice to turn away an O negative donor.
Rachel C: I love the staff here!
李子俊: New edited: After the complaints, I received the call back and someone talked to me and apologized. On Feb 11 I donated again. I did not pass the pulse test at the beginning, and the staffs are patient to wait me calm down. Then I passed the pulse test and started the 2 unit platelet donation. They assigned the experienced staff and used the single arm. The needle injection is quick and successful.New donors, please always ask an experienced staff to inject the needles. I have 2 band-aids on my fingers as someone failed to collect enough hemoglobin. 2 mouths ago, the staff failed to inject the needles on my right arm. I could not bear the pain and screamed. I would not change my ratings until Red Cross replies and explains the detailsEdited: I submitted the complaint to the Red Cross consumer service email, still waiting for response.
Timothy Meeker: Staff was very professional, friendly and courteous when I was running late on the train. The facility is quiet, clean and very accessible. I gave platelets over two hours and my only real gripe is that the chair was broken, so my back got cramped - but still 110% worth it!
Richard Callahan: Professional but check in was slow
Bruna Vilela: There was an accident at 93. I ended up being 15 min late. They couldn’t take me in any longer. Mind you it was a 3 hour, platelet donation time slot. I never once took all 3 hours. I had my rapid pass ready and all. But they couldn’t take me in for being late. I’ve showed up on time every other time and had to wait to be taken in (which I never minded). When I asked why, they couldn’t even give me an explanation, all I got was a very awkward “yeeah…” no one planned this accident on 93 and it is ridiculous that they couldn’t be slightly human about it. Ended up having an empty chair for 2hrs and 45 min.
Susan Buta: Do not even begin to tell us how critical the need for blood is after cancelling my appointment for this facility twice two weeks in response to your "urgent" messages. 7/21/21. I was personally called by someone at the ARC. She basically guaranteed my appointment and yes, they kept the third appointment. It should not be that hard!
F D: This is my ever first blood donation. At this location, the nursing staff named Fei (or Phee?) (name tag was hidden) today, on July 18th, 2021, had the worst attitude. She used her monotone in directives and answers to all questions. She forcibly pulled a post blood donation paper pamphlet away from me without any warning because she wanted to place the barcode sticker on before giving to me. She seldom looked at me when I asked questions and stared on my phone screen for no reason for straight 5 seconds. Very passive aggressive that she was reluctant to help her fellow coworker when a machine was beeping and angry/annoyed at me for asking questions. I could not tolerate that almost I did not donate and wanted to walk out because of the fear that she may do something horrible wrong with her almost offensive behavior. Certainly I will never go to this location for any foreseeable future donations or if I will ever donate again to experience this terrible service. Unsure if she had always been this way or just today turned out to be a bad day or just toward me. Regardless of how often she used "please" in all her "commands," she didn't seem to mean it. Otherwise, it was pleasant to converse with other fellow blood donors and exchanged experiences.
Omer Zeliger: They cancelled my appointment without notifying me lol
D Harmon: The staff is nice. The place is nice. There were 12 chairs, over 6 staff, and only two people donating. The website said that there were no appointments available. The staff had to be persuaded to take me as a walk in. What's up?
Lefkoful: Avoid the red cross. They may be one of the only options in MA. But they should be avoided.
Julie J: Last time I went to this place and the took more than 500Ml of blood from body and the last who pinned the needle in my body was very hesitated to take the needle back. I was lousy for next 3 days and had to eat plenty of food to keep upright.
