Merry Rejouis: This place is very segregated seems like the Blacks are on one end with a black instructor and the Asians are with a separate instructor. There’s no products for black clients and the people are rude . The Asians instructor follows you to the restrooms , She stares at you while you’re getting your hair done through the mirror from the other end of the room. Felt very uncomfortable! She’ll leave her side to come to behind the student that was doing my hair just very weird Energy . The student was very professional, gentle, caring made sure I was comfortable after telling her I felt uncomfortable. The minute I walked in the school the Asian were not welcoming at all. The products are not for black people with textured hair . 5 star to the student an work I hope & pray she hurry up an graduate from this school because this school is not it.

She wanted the cheap way out and decided to go with East Boston Beauty Academy. When she called she was hooked up with Elma.Elma went to my home in Revere, on a Saturday, and did my mom's hair and make-up. My mom looked so amazing!! She said when she looked in the mirror she couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. My mom's hair & make-up came out so beautiful. Her favorite part was that Elma made her nose look thinner and pointer. (My mom has a really wide nose. lol)I came home from the Salon and almost cried at how beautiful my mom looked. Elma very politely told me I looked very beautiful and offered to put fake lashes on for me. (Lina at Oxigeno J. said I didn't need lashes) Elma was shocked that I had no lashes on and said for my wedding I really should have them.So I sat down for what I thought was only going to be lashes. I noticed Elma was doing more than lashes and I'm not going to lie I was very scared since my face was already very caked. My face was left pale and with painted eyebrows by Lina. Elma had to add highlighter, blush, and eye lashes she even brushed out my eyebrows to make them look more natural. After I looked in the mirror and I was beyond happy with her work. Elma made me look like a princess. I regret not doing everything with her to begin with. She even helped me get dressed!!!! I will forever be grateful for Elma you have no idea. The last wedding I was in, my fake lashes were falling off before it was even time to sit down for dinner. But the talent at Lyndsay Simon Beauty is truly something else. Val and Kelly were assigned to me and immediately from the hair/makeup trial I knew I was in good hands. Kelly is a wizard with what she can do with hair. Val truly listens to every word you say and truly hears you. At my trial, I wasn't completely in love with my makeup, so when it came time for my wedding, I told Val my hesitations and she heard every word. Charlotte Bidgood: I will start with the positive:The independent artists who LSB works with are great. I was very happy with my wedding day hair and makeup. Amy for hair and Julia for makeup were a delight and I would work independently with them again in a heartbeat.Unfortunately several things did not go well in the lead up to the wedding. If you are a detail oriented and proactive planner bride, I would look elsewhere.-I had two no-shows / last-minute cancellations by artists, one for my trial and one for my actual wedding. My make up artist apparently had COVID twice in a span of a few months.. once in May for my trial and again in July for the wedding…Both cancellations were last minute (which I fully appreciate is the nature of COVID, but I am left questioning if both of these were real…) You have to go to the studio for the trial. Their studio is in Boston which is not local for me - several hours away - and I had an early trial on Sunday, so we drove up on Saturday to stay the night. I received word about cancellation at 10pm that night when we were already in the hotel getting ready for bed. I then had to take another day off of work and trek up to Boston again to redo the trial.The second cancellation happened on Thursday right before my Saturday wedding. I am not a “makeup person” and have super sensitive skin and was very nervous about the whole process. None of those notes got passed to the new artist who ended up attending my wedding day. Again - it ultimately was fine!! - but an incredibly frustrating lead up.-Difficulties with bridal party scheduling. LSB refuses to discuss scheduling with you until 2 weeks out. I asked a few times but they would not budge. When they finally made the schedule two weeks out there were several mistakes so I ended up re-doing it and going off of my own schedule on the day-of anyway.-Difficulties with communication. LSB only communicates through their portal which requires a link and a log on every time. You can’t simply email, call, or text as you can with all other wedding vendors (in my experience)- There we’re a couple times when I had to wait a several days for a response, meanwhile I would see LSB posting constantly on her instagram.
