Citizens Bank Opera House: what do users think?
Arthur Abelowitz: Sound was poor and theater was cold
Linda Lyerly: Grand entrance and not a bad seat in the house. I've been to several performances at this theater, sat in a different section every time, and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for Playbill touring shows without all the fuss and expense, this is the place to be! Venue staff are accommodating, the seats are relatively comfortable, parking can be a pain so take the Uber, and be sure to have your vaccination card as this is one of the few venues still strictly enforcing the mask up/vaccinate policy.
Daniel Sabbatelli: Consistently great cuisine in a pleasant setting
Maria Bareiss: This is a gorgeous theater. There are a lot of stairs, but there ARE elevators! The lobby gets crowded but that's normal. The stage was easy to see, the sound was phenomenal, and the ushers were very, very helpful! Park in the garage on Lafayette and pay in advance at the cashier's office. Very conveniently located.
robert pascucci: Absolutely Loved it!
SometimesLv x: Beautiful theater, amazing show! Leaving is very crowded so be patient and hang back because it takes a while for everyone to bottle neck down the stairs and out... organized bathroom lines / great audio sound system acoustics.
Nathaniel Taylor: Each time I go it is well organized and clean. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable
cliff utstein: Amazing venue, but some of the seats are broken
Lisa K Holsberg: Great venue! The sound is great.
Louphye Cayemite: I never go there
Scott G: My family went to see My Fair Lady at the Opera House. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The architecture is amazing and pretty good views from the seats. Nice variety of refreshments during intermission. Overall nice venue for a show.
Mark Palazzo: Wonderful venue. Great show.
Julie Kanach: Excellent front of house staff. Clean bathrooms, well organized. Beautiful theater.
Mary McCarthy: Just beautiful. Easy parking. Great show. Restaurants very close by.
Nancy Bleam: Amazing architecture. We had a great view from our seats. The sound system was great!
Tom Westheimer: The show was good, but the sound system was not great.
Peter Drougas: I would love to tour this place as a museum! Many of the not so great reviews are warranted. Sound system for voice made some wording difficult to gather.Seats are old, no cushion. Staff was okay, but seemed tired of dealing with the public. Especially people that have never been there before. We did not have to experience the bathroom limits. Although upon leaving found ourselves going down too far and being in the bathroom area.It was a slow walk with leaving. I can see how on a rainy day, no one clears the exit doors quickly enough to keep things flowing. But there was an Officer waving people on to cross the street. Which helped to clear the entry.I would plead with you to not stop in the middle of the traffic because you are not sure where to go. Please tuck yourself out of the way. Just saying!Otherwise a nice place to see and event.
Nitza Correia: Beautiful venue!
S BoweRs: Update: I do wish they would change what they offer in concessions. It's quite annoying to return from intermission to the sounds of rustling bags of candy. Perhaps they could get the plastic containers of candies that the Emerson Colonial Theater sells. It makes such a difference! It felt like coming home today - so glad to have theater back! Very impressed with the vaccination verification process and the efforts of staff to remind everyone to start masked. Thank you for all your hard work!!
Sofia Briskin: The building is amazing which gives you an atmosphere of a real holiday
Pablo Mazo: Excelente

Emerson Colonial Theatre: what do users think?
Mark C: Champions of Magic show!Great show!
Roland Houle: As a big guy, I worry about whether the seats in theatres are going to be too small or if there is going to be enough leg room. No problems here. Good facility and the wood working and paintings in the lobby are beautiful.
Beverly Jones: Great little/intimate theater - would give it 5 stars except for how tight the seats are. There is absolutely NO leg room - at 5'4" I just can't get comfortable. (I have no idea how taller people manage it!)
Abigail Adams: Great production quality, balcony seating is not for anyone with long legs (or fear of heights), and the orchestra "pit" is on the stage. This makes for an interesting effect on staging. I was very impressed with the captioning availability!
Phil C: Beautiful theater. Great show
D S: Great theater experience! Love that it's more intimate than some of the other venues.
Jeffrey Lambert: Saw Into the Woods. Performance was excellent. The theatre itself was great. They got you through security checks quickly. Bar had excellent drinks served in real glasses.
A C: Recently saw Into the Woods. Excellent performances by all cast members. Unfortunately, it closes tomorrow. Wish it could be extended.
Diana F.: Went to the box office to get 2 tickets. The woman suggested seats J106 and J108. She did not mention there was a pole directly in front of one of the seats!!!! Luckily when we saw that we moved ourselves to other seats that had no obstructions. Customers should be informed of this when selecting seats!
Erin D: Show was amazing but it was so hard to concentrate because of how uncomfortable we were. There is no leg room in the upper seats. I'm only 5'5 and my knees were in the backs of the seat in front of me. Can't speak to the orchestra specifically, but do not buy either upper level if you can avoid it.
Nathan Maisttison: The theater itself is beautiful, and the show "Into the Woods" was spectacular. However, the seat distance between you sitting and the chair in front of you is horrific. I'm 5'8" / weight 165lbs, and I was uncomfortable. I seldom complain, but ouch, that was uncomfortable.
Joseph Ting: First time back to the Colonial Theater since before the pandemic. It seems to be in excellent condition, clean and the staff is as cordial and helpful as ever. Acoustics are excellent, unchanged. It's good to be back.
Larry Kaylor: This a very attractive venue on the inside. The sound was really good too.
PrimmnProper: Balcony seats are tight, but it is the Balcony so it is expected 😆. The check in Staff are Amazing! The architecture of the inside of the building is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
Jeremy Freeman: Very beautiful theater!!!
suzanne lalumiere: Loved the elegance and organizationof the patrons, safetyThis theatre should never be removed
Mike S.: Nice venue. Hint: reserve parking online before you go. Have been here several times, good shows.
Linda Brogna: Great seats! Great venue!
Timothy McMahon: Great show, beautiful theater right off Commons (Park at Commons Garage for an easy short walk). Superb acoustics at the Colonial, intimate setting
Marsha Ledbury Deinnocentis: Fantastic seating and showAwesome view and sounds 👌
Denise Perrault: Fran Lebowitz was fabulous!!!

Boch Center - Shubert Theatre: what do users think?
Steve Majerus-Collins: Great old theater!
Don Nolin: Beautiful venue. The seats were small compared to other venues.
Dan C: Great venue for stage performances. Not a bad seat in the house. Staff is friendly and competent
Craig Johnson: You buy wine and then they tell you that it can’t be brought into the theatre , so you have to chug it.
Steven Damalas: We attended the Urban Nutcracker show. The performance was quite entertaining and well done. However, the legroom at this theatre takes things just beyond tolerable. If I didn't have the foresight to reserve myself an aisle seat, I would have left. If you are shorter than 5'4" or an amputee, this place is for you.
Kyle Hamel: The theater itself is nice and seating is dated but comfortable. There's a nice parking garage nearby for easy access. However the main hallway is very cramped and impossible to move through when people are purchasing consessions and merchandise. The mens bathroom is located down a very tight and low headroom stairway and has many pipes and bars less than 6' off the floor. I had to crouch to walk through the bathroom.
Marquisa MURPHY-GLOVER: I Enjoyed yhe Urban Nutcracker. The Theater is historic and the staff was great.
Jeanette Bailey: The only problem I had was 88 steps up that never was re model. It's a very old building and seats were very very small, like a 100 years old.
Peter Marino: Great show!
MJ Martin: Stunning interior, great views, classic velvet seating and excellent sound. A beautiful night out.
Stephanie Heiffus: I was there for a musical performance and it was absolutely perfect! I was surprised they allowed photos and videos which was distracting and annoying, and the opening of upper level doors throughout show.
Rochelle Dickerson: GORGEOUS THEATRE!
Vovó do Classificados: O teatro è muito bonito e confortável, mas o show q fui assistir pensei q era uma peça musical mas não era e sim filme com music foi divertido tb
Sara VanNest: Beautiful theater with helpful staff
Claudia Sarmiento: Nice cozy place
Kenneth Montgomery: Salsa concert
Peter Valle: Cozy place for a concert
Rob Caron: It's a nice small theater, but I had front row balcony seats and they were the extremely small and uncomfortable
Mark Delaney: Nice place to see a concert!
Lanna Krik: Worked a show here and some staff were very sweet and some staff were very rude/tried to tell us what to do at our show…..Staff members need to stop being stuck up/controlling.
Jeff Pavia: Nick Mason was unbelievable, great show, great venue.

Emerson Paramount Center: what do users think?
Michael Payette: The space is BEAUTIFUL. Audio was just fair. Yep, I have hearing issues.
Finding Jeffrey: The building itself is a work of art both inside and out. It may lack some modern features, but it would pass up a chance to watch a show here.
Doris K: Decor is pretty ugly but the seats are very comfortable! Good view of the stage even far up.
DAVID BRYANT: Enjoyable show, but very old, tight seats.
Lisa Z: Decent theater. Saw Frankenstein performed by Emerson students. Strangest but one of the coolest, most unique shows I've seen. Theater itself clean, comfortable, good prices, very helpful and sweet staff. Would absolutely go back.
Aminollah Maghanitoroqi (Amin): Experimental films in an experimental place
IMRANA JILANI: Beautiful
Gail Stewart: I loved, loved, loved Frankenstein put on by the Manual Cinema.
annette jacobs: Almost all plays are interesting and well done. Runs are incredibly short. I'm a subscriber so, if I need to change my tickets, particularly because I'm out of town, sometimes not possible.
Marqus santos: amazing shows
Jorge Garcia: We had extremely uncomfortable seats in a balcony box.The show was very short, just a little over an hour, & didn't really feature live performers. It was mostly projected images (& without spoken dialogue). Avant-garde, I suppose, but still disappointing when you want & expect a stage play.
douglas roberts: Really nice venue for theatre and music.
Colin McGibbon: Awesome
Rik Berghorn: This is a very nice theater.
Frank Gratton: The theater is absolutely stunning
Marlon Mejia: this theater is fantastic, its seats, and the sound is incredible... however they usually present boring and repeated shows every year. Cleaning can improve in some areas and especially in the bathrooms.
Pavel Antonov: A beautiful landmark
Richard Lear: This theater is really wonderful. I was truly surprised.
Bruno Martins: Beautiful cinema in good location near downtown and Boston common , also good restaurants around and subway stations to have easy access.
Samuel Henry: It was closed. Really wanted to show the inside to a theater buff
Agnelo Santos: Lindo demais

Huntington Avenue Theatre: what do users think?
Bill Barnert: Love the new renovations! There are actually fewer seats now, so they'd be more comfortable. And the red & green lights on the bathroom stalls to tell you which are in use is brilliant.
Jeffrey Basch: Beautifully updated theater with good lines of site.
Bob Harrison: Great theater, great renovated space... Creative take on gender neutral restrooms with a concept that works!
David Zabner: My favorite theater in Boston. They never miss!
Michel DiPalma: Seems to be recently redone. Newer seats. Polite staff..and well managed..
Stephen B: Wonderful renovation. Accessible, comfortable, everything you need.
Miguel Bennasar: Newly renewed theater, it is great and comfortable, tons of space in between seat rows, and restrooms for everyone!
Paul Griffin: Great theater, where you feel close to the action. Clyde's was excellent.
Danny van der Rijn: Show was good but the new seats were very uncomfortable
Alexander “LEX” Smith: NewLy Restored HuntingTon Theater! Saw the show “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” by August Wilson. Brand new seats 💺 and ReFurbished Auditorium. Check it out!!!
Phylly Goodman: Powerful performance by gifted actors. A "Must See" while in Boston!!
S N: Went to see Jo Turner's come and gone. The show was terrific. The theater after renovations is very clean and well organized. The seats are comfortable. I like that they have lights in front of each bathroom stall to show which one is empty.
Comfy Chris: I watched a play here called “Good People” back in 2012. It was an excellent production.
Darby Smotherman: Theatre!!
J.C. Denton: They check your vaccine status to enter. This is the opposite of freedom for the patron. Yes, the theatre people have the freedom to do this, but we also have the freedom to boycott them! To hell!
robert walters: 3.5 hours? Really?
P KING: The Bluest Eye. If you wonder if a Toni Morrison book can be made into a play and convey the depth and power of TM's work the answer is YES.This is the best theatre experience I've had in quite a while. I was honored to experience it. Thank you
Jerry Burnside: Being remodeled
Daniel Levin: Love this place
Louis Vanson: 3 yrs agowent for a twosetviolin concert, wonderful experience and interior
Ronnie Floyd: Under construction 🏗

Improv Asylum: what do users think?
Rahul Gawande: Absolutely hilarious! They did a great job with their new set. It’s a must see! Go for the later show if you’re looking for something less family friendly.
James Washer: This was recommended to us by multiple sources, however didn’t really live up to the hype. The cast are all very talented, however a lot of the show seemed to be pre-rehearsed with multiple skits etc, which is not the improv we came to see.
Maddie Archer: A 100% must visit while in Boston! The show we went to was so much fun we ended up coming back for the midnight “raunchy” show as well. Such a great night out with friends, definitely recommend.
Anushka: Amazing show!!! Solid improvisation. I liked it and that the audience was involved in the performance. My husband and I enjoyed it immensely, cool jokes, we laughed heartily. Definitely recommended to everyone. Don't miss this show- this is a brilliant !!!
Ian Dunbar: Phenomenonal time, highly recommended if you get the chance. Just make sure to lean into it.
Karen Nakitende: We didn’t know what we were going in for but up to now we still laugh at the jokes. 10/10 highly recommend
Brian Hoffman: Been several times. Always a fun experience. Great place to bring out of town visitors.
Tim Asinger: The show was great, very original and high energy
Kate Rodgers: We had the best time here!! Caught a Sunday night show and it was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone 👏🏼
Laura Love: We loved the late night show (Raunch!). It was our first time, and we cannot wait to go again. The cast was hilarious!
Eco S: I thought the show was pretty mediocre. They didn’t use the crowd suggestions to the fullest and the actors weren’t that good. Each skit got cut off before it could even get good. It felt like a high school performance.
Deborah “Debbi Lee” Flagg: First timers. So much fun! Would recommend and return! Great job!
Robbie Ashton: Shows sell out multiple times a week, and for good reason; easily the best comedy in Boston
Alex Drake (Adrake1234): Very funny show in the North end great day to end the night!
Gustavo Herrera: Funny! I wasn't expecting it to be so fun and engaging. The place is in the basement of a building in the North End, a little bit small, which is what makes it more engaging. There is a full bar on premise so you can get hammered before the show starts, it makes it even more fun and funnier. Highly recommended!
Keke Butterfield: I had a few safety concerns. One way in and one way out. The world is crazy and I need to feel like I have options. Chaotic inside with no one to tell you where a line starts or ends. The bar seemed pretty sufficient.
Derek Shaw: So much entertainment, so funny, and truly just an all around great time!!!!
Victor Robinson: Was a lot of fun. Took my 16 year old daughter and her friends. Lots of laughs.
Jason Burke: Meh. Not saying improv is easy, it’s not. And I do think a lot of these people were witty and good actors on the spot. But the material was extremely bland and TikTok-ey. But I guess that’s also the audience in Boston? Can’t kill ‘em for it hence the 3/5, but if you’re interested in comedy in the form of Tim Dillon, Nick Mullen, Shane Gillis, Tom Segura, old Howard Stern etc (that brand of humor that pushes buttons), I don’t think you’ll enjoy this show. If you're into comedy from former theater kids, you’ll love this show.
Danijela L: Crowd pleasing sketch comedy spot for late night weekend entertainment.
Chris Femino: Funny and personable.
