I had to reschedule my interview twice because of work and being sick but don’t give someone a deadline for documents before they even decide if they are interested in your positions. We worked with her to get our then 10 mo’s sleep figured out because he was still needing to be nursed multiple times a night and would only nap on my lap, and our previous attempts at pick-up/put-down and Ferber hadn’t really worked. Bailey L.: There are too many agencies in the same area to settle for Boston Nanny Centre. Rather than upload examples from emails of how unprofessional and rude they are, it’s best to tell you about my experience. This is not everything in it’s entirety. I am using an Alias, as they will be the first to suggest I’ve got the wrong agency. Read the other negative reviews as well.At first they were very kind and efficient, but in the end, they did not care about what is in the best interest for the family and for the Nanny. They will turn it around and blame you, but they tried to pressure me into accepting a position before I signed the contract, knowing full well that I had a change of heart. This would not be in my best interest, but especially not the family’s.They also “slipped in” details of responsibilities in the contract, that were never discussed nor in any descriptions relating to the family. They used bullying methods to try and get me to accept a position, by telling me things to make me feel guilty about the parent and child, they claimed I knew about, but never mentioned to me in any discussion or email. They also strung another family along (I had two offers simultaneously) until I decided which position I was leaning towards, even though I clearly stated in multiple emails that I had reservations with that one family, and most likely wouldn’t be interested, regardless of my decision with the competing family. I was told over a phone conversation, “It’s not like they have anyone else so they are willing to wait”. Once I expressed interest in the other family, only then in an email did I read, “I agree, you have too many reservations for it to be a match”. I was then informed the Mom would be “shocked”. If that Mom only knew how she was being strung along….. I wonder if this was done so that family would not seek out a competing agency? I’ll never know.At times a business deal doesn’t go through, even after a contract is signed, but clearly all they care about is the money. The family I initially expressed I would want to Nanny for was very classy and supportive of my decision, even though they really wanted me to join them and were clearly disappointed. The agency should use this example as to how they should behave. If something doesn’t go their way, they turn on you in such an unkind and brutal way. If the family was even aware of how the agency handled this, I have no doubt they would walk away as well. Had I accepted the position in writing to make all parties happy other than myself, in the long run it would have been worse for all.How you are left feeling at the end of a business deal, regardless of the outcome, is a true reflection of who you were doing business with. If you are looking for a business with integrity, this is not the one.After posting this, you can read below the response that is completely no excuse for mistreating a candidate. It is an extremely common business phenomenon, that one decides to stay at their current position after giving notice. Contracts such as marriages don’t work out either. It is the fault of the agency for not advising their clients to hold off on informing their children of an acceptance, until after the contract is signed. Even then, people in the business world walk away. I had not signed the contract, and as I stated, they added things in there that would have caused me to walk away regardless.They are extremely manipulative and only care about the loss of the placement fee. I would expect them to defend themselves on here, but they should be grateful I did not share their unprofessional behaviors and games that they played with the families or upload the emails.

L D: Unfortunately we didn’t make a match after many weeks of working with this agency. I feel that the agency doesn’t have enough suitable candidates versus number of families they take on. This results in families competing unfairly (in my view) and the nanny ultimately holding all the cards making unreasonable demands. They also don’t seem to realize that the reason you are looking for a nanny in the first place is because you work full time and have children, hence always can’t respond to a call or email immediately. They made this seem like my fault which I didn’t appreciate

They have been highly responsive to both emails and phone calls offering a quick turnaround time. Any questions I had about potential positions they were able to assist in answering. While working with them on placement you can tell they have both the families and nanny’s best interest at heart. It is imperative to make sure the nanny is a good match for the family and they put the proper protocols in place for the vetting process. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future should I need to begin work with a new family. Their support and professionalism is unmatched.

Several years ago, when signing with an agency was fairly new in our our field, it seemed to me to be a good idea to keep a connection this way. Of course there were extensive applications (some on the edge of ludicrous), and interviews. Of these, only one conducted an in-person interview: Boston Nanny Centre. This meeting was less like an interview and more like a conversation with a friend; the woman I spoke with shared as many of her own nanny-stories as I did! While the other agencies were solely interested in qualifications, BNC, once they had those from me, seemed to be more interested in Who I Was. As they spoke of their clients, it was clear that they were more interested in them as people also. BNC actually approached me last year while I was living out of state because they felt that they had that perfect pairing with myself and a family who was moving into Boston. When I hit the four month mark, I was given a raise, and then two months after that, the branch nominated me for a company wide award.The most frustrating thing many people will find nowadays with employment is not being acknowledged when they work hard. Jovie Boston has been the total opposite as said above. When negotiating my contract with my current family, they always pushed to include more than the default PTO assignments of my length of time would require. The folks in management are excellent in their communications, whether it's company policy changes they need to alert us to, as well as scheduling PTO, or any medical/family issues, helpful tips, you name it. And even if we don't have anything important to talk about, every now and then I've just had a quick check in by them which does make me feel appreciated.My fellow nannies are fantastic! Another nanny who had to take my place while on vacation was awesome with my little guy, shout out to Yorlenis btw! The families I've worked with are awesome! I've had lovely and fun kiddos, with amazing and helpful parents whenever assistance may have been needed.To be frank, I could go on for a couple more hours, but I'll summarize. If you are a parent looking for childcare, I can't recommend this agency enough, but I may be biased, sure. If you want to work here, definitely apply! This is a wonderful place to work, and I would love to see even more nannies be appreciated and celebrated for what they do the same way I and many other Jovie nannies have been since I've worked here.

Ying Gan: My husband reserved the at home child care through his company website which using the Bright Horizon as the agency. Bright Horizon uses Jovie Boston's child care service and booked the time for us. We received the confirmation with the name of the person who will come to our home. Now that person has no show and we called Jovie Boston. We are told that the person we reserved is no longer working at Jovie. I'm wondering why Jovie didn't tell BH that this person is not available when BH made the reservation. Now we are still waiting for someone coming to take care of my kids while we can't focus on our work. Jovie should improve their communication with the BH agency otherwise please remove yourself from BH's list.Update 9/2 7:00pm:My husband received owner's call this afternoon and was told we leave hurtful 1 star review because the fault is all at Bright Horizon. Told us we shouldn't leave this 1 star review because she contributes to this community a lot while we are living in the same community (I was wondering why she knew we are in same community, okay she has our address in the reservation, and the phone number as well). While my husband and I were talking, she kept talking and didn't listen to us. Then she said we don't listen to her. It's about 20 minutes conversation, the content is all about her business and how we hurt her while we are the victims who didn't get the backup care service when we need it indeed. I felt so heartbreaking that the business in our town trying to make us feel guilty because we left a negative review due to their operational issue.I had looked into other negative reviews, we had the similar issue as Martin's. I wonder if the owner can spend more time on how to solve the problem instead of convincing us to remove the review, the issue might not happen again and every customer would be happy.I'm updating the review to 2 stars as Martin did which it's fair. Customers should have the rights to review and state the truth about our experience. (however, the owners kept telling us we are not her customer, it's Bright Horizon's) My husband and I felt really offended during the call when our privacy was used to blame us. Attaching the latest reply from owner too, in case it lost in future.I believe Jovie has provided good service because of the effort of their nanny and sitter according to the review. I wish someone in Jovie can solve the miscommunication between Bright Horizon and the similar issue will not happen again.Update 9/2 8:00pm:The review seems not showing up because of attaching photos. Deleting the photos now.Update 9/2 10:20pm:We haven't received any email as owner replied. We don't need a proof since we don't think she is not telling the truth. The problem is between Jovie and BH, hope it can be resolved soon.This is not a duplicate review btw.

Xu Jian: My company's backup care service helped us find and use Jovie Boston to provide backup care and the nanny didn't show up at the reservation time and when I called Jovie, they said the nanny didn't work at the company anymore. It's a really bad experience and I will never use Jovie Boston in the future

The management of the company was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions we had when we first reached out to get more information, and were extremely professional in guiding us through the interview process to find a nanny that we love. Our nanny has been wonderful, she is so thoughtful with our daughter and is alway on time. If you are looking for a childcare provider in the greater Boston area I would strongly recommend this agency.

If you're looking for reliability, look elsewhere.In response to the owner's comment below...So let me reiterate that these were last minute cancellations by your agency, giving no opportunity for other agencies to step in. One of the cancellations was due to illness, but the other wasn't.Bottom line is that you staffed three of the five days you were booked for, which most would agree is unreliable.FWIW, a CXO should be doing everything she can to make things right with her customer base, not bicker with them like this and try to deflect criticism. Not to mention threatening them and cancelling future bookings unless negative reviews are taken down. It comes across as small, petty, and unequivocally unprofessional, and it baffles me that someone with a background in marketing doesn't see that.I sure hope individuals and organizations take notice before working with you.
