Boston Vision: what do users think?
Light Flash: Front desk staff and technicians could not be more professional. Dr. Melki was very patient and explained all of the options for cataract surgery to me and my family. He answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Dr Melki and all of the staff at Boston Vision for cataract surgery.
Jonathan Sims: Boston Vision is truly exceptional. Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to visit several of their skilled doctors for various reasons, including regular checkups, a cataract consultation, and the intricate process of fitting scleral lenses. Dr. Yao, in particular, is incredibly helpful for those with challenging-to-fit eyes and need assistance in finding the best contact lenses.
Dave: I highly recommend using Boston Vision as your eye care center. My poor eyesight was impacting many daily activities, and I felt like there was no hope in getting my vision corrected (Keratoconus is my problem). I was wrong. Dr Melki and Dr. Yao worked on finding a solution and my eyesight improved drastically! Still need to work with both doctors to make sure everything is as intended (the common yearly checkups). Thank you to Boston Vision’s friendly staff, and both Dr. Melki & Dr. Yao!
Jesse Chisum: Understandably nervous for such a procedure! Boston Vision and all the staff that I encountered made my experience low stress and painless. The process from start to finish was explained thoroughly. The day of surgery was as easy as it could have been. I was cautioned about the 4 hr post-op nap, light sensitivity, burning, itching irritation that was going to occur during that time. It was not intolerable but it was everything they said it would be. My recommendations: pick up a sleeping mask to cover the eyes and take a Tylenol when you lay down. Have some napkins handy for all the tearing your eyes will be doing. When your 4 hrs are up and you open your eyes, it’s a whole new world!Seven months post-op update: Vision is great! No problems at all. No need for glasses. Very happy customer.
Meghan Veglia: Amazing experience! Dr. Brenner was so helpful and informative and the staff that assisted made me feel so comfortable! The procedure was quick and painless and my only regret is I didn't get it sooner!!
Jennifer Lofgren: Surgery was traumatic and was the worst biopsy experience I have encountered. I felt EVERYTHING and warned Surgeon. So painful when it should not have been. The Male Assistant who took my eye pressure prior to surgery was professional and deserves props and overall my eye is healing nicely but this is all that is good. I can't say I will be back or recommend.
Nancy Lew: Best office and extremely competent eye care.
Jane Holmes Bernstein: On time. Efficient and courteous service throughout. Thorough examination, clear explanations, helpful recommendations.
Luis Moreno Jr: The staff is great. I had a small issue at check in but it was taken care of to my satisfaction. I trust my eyes with the great staff at the Brookline office.
Felipe Sanches Edaes: Great place with excellent receptionists. Overral it was a great appointment and I will go back there if needed.
Gerson Puerta: Good job tankyuo gracias
Evan Routhier: My girlfriend had a lasik surgery here scheduled for 8:30am and was told it would be done by 10:30. When we arrived, the receptionist thought the appointment was for 9:30, so we had to pull up the confirmation email that it was at 8:30. We ended up not leaving the clinic until after 1pm, and almost all of that time was spent in the waiting room, where we kept being told it ‘wouldn't be much longer.’ This made me miss several meetings I had scheduled for the afternoon. We also got a parking ticket as I kept going to add increments of time to the meter but missed one by a few minutes. Even if the surgery results are fine, there is either very poor scheduling or just no consideration of patient time.
Elizabeth Dasilva-Monteiro: Staff and the department doctor was all awesome!
Elihu Shmails: Good but appointments take way too long. Well over 90 minutes for an exam.
Susan Salvaterra: The staff were very nice and helpful. DR. Brenner has been my Doctor for a long time. Has given me excellent care. THANK YOU Dr.Brenner. taking such good care of my eyes.
Elise Becker: The eye doctors are great. They don't rush through appointments, and they've always taken my concerns seriously. The company itself, though, is awful. I scheduled my first appointment when I was still new to the area, and I told the receptionist I lived in Watertown and would prefer to visit an office close by. She scheduled my appointment at the Lawrence location, saying it would be the best in terms of proximity to Watertown....Lawrence is, at minimum, an hour away.Twice they've changed the time of my appointments without telling me. I showed up the first time an hour late and the second time an hour early and was told by the front desk staff that my appointment times had changed. I know it's not a "me" problem because I don't have this issue with appointments at other companies. And when I have been right about the times of my appointments, I would have to sit in the waiting room for anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes. They also have a habit of cancelling appointments. So far I've had three canceled for different reasons: the doctor would be out of the office (understandable), they scheduled me at a location where my doctor wasn't practicing (?????), and they scheduled me at a location that was still under construction at the time of the appointment (???????????).One of the techs also messed up my glasses prescription to the point that I couldn't wear them while driving. I'm switching my eye doctor, because it's just not worth the trouble. Boston Vision has a good network with excellent doctors and resources, but they just can't figure out which way is up.
Zena Lum: Professional staff, quiet, calm surroundings, and convenient location to Green Line Brookline Village or if driving, plenty of available meters.
Josephine Cavicchio: The staff very friendly and helpful. My first time as patient there very pleasant and experience was good with Dr lee very nice and explained things to me very well
Hayden Ho: I had my ICL surgery and it was great. However, I had my 1 day follow-up appointment after the surgery and they were 45 minutes late to see me. When they did see me, it tooks them 3 minutes. What's the point of having an appointment when you have to wait for that long? I just hope that see this review and work on their time management, because it is a waste of a patient's time to wait that long just to be seen for such a short amount of time. I originally had a ride home from a relative because I was told it will be quick for the follow-up. But because I had to wait for so long and they had to go to work, I had to figure out my own ride home. So many inconveniences just because they cannot make their time accordingly. They didn't even tell me that they were behind schedule until I walked up and asked after waiting 20 minutes after my actually appointment. They told me it will be another few minutes which turned into an extra 25 minutes after that. The doctor who saw me didn't even apologize for being late. Again, was really frustrated with such service and just not respectful of the patients time and schedule.
Sunny Grodberg: Very efficient and good experience
Halley Angel: I knew that I wanted to get the LASIK procedure, but I was a little anxious about the procedure and the days after. Dr. Melki and the LASIK team were incredibly helpful - they sent me videos explaining everything, answered any question at my consultation, and double and triple-checked my vision to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. I was feeling a lot of anxiety the day of LASIK, and everyone I talked to at Boston Vision was kind and understanding. The procedure itself was not the scary or painful experience that I initially thought it might be. It was a strange feeling looking into the laser and feeling pressure, but it was over quickly. After the procedure, I felt incredibly supported by the team, and my recovery was smooth - I did lose my medication eye drops, but Dr. Melki and the Boston Vision employees quickly responded and helped me figure out what I should do. I have been really impressed with how well I can now see into the distance; obviously that is why I signed up for LASIK, but actually adjusting to having the vision I achieve every day with my contacts or glasses has been exciting.

Boston Eye Care Center: what do users think?
Bob O'Brien: Excellent work and went above and beyond to answer many questions on eye conditions.
Thom Wilde: I’m gonna walk you through this step by step. You arrive to a broom closet stacked with equipment. You can see the beams and 2x4 studs. You are then redirected to the elevator lobby to fill out sensitive medical forms. After this you get to sit in the broom closet where he makes NO ATTEMPT AT HUMAN INTERACTION while he one click at a time enters the information from the forms into his system. You have enough awkward time to notice the multiple security cameras pointed at you that you did not sign a release for. He then turns and addresses your obvious impatience and says “ I can’t help you if you no leave a good review”. I left and will be flagging this, lord I don’t have anything nice to say, clearly unprofessional and not up to basic building code seemingly illegal practice.
Leith Sharp: Dr. Ying was incredibly kind, thorough and he took the time to really work out what was wrong with my eyes. I had an eye infection for over a week that was really starting to worry me and I had a big conference coming up that I had to run. He gave me an appointment on the same day that I called, then diagnosed the problem and then sent me home with the cure. And it was all very affordable. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend this amazing ophthalmologist!!
Tami: What a pleasant experience. Dr. Ying is pleasant, thorough and happy to explain all the tests and results. I particularly enjoyed the no pressure atmosphere.
Deviyani Misra-Godwin: Fantastic service and really great value. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Dr. Ying was excellent. I Agree with the review above - the best optician I’ve had!
May Cai: Dr. Ying is very nice, and the best eye doctor i have ever visited. :) They are very effcient and take patient satisfaction as their no. 1 priority.
Anil Mundra: Great ophthalmology and optometry practice. Dr. Ying is excellent and extremely thorough. Staff is very nice and helpful. Even took my insurance for refraction exam and eyeglasses prescription . And (the icing on the cake) they’re in the old Car Talk Guys (Dewey Cheetham & Howe) space!!

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston: what do users think?
John Oleary: Disorganized. Horribly run. Take no accountability for their mistakes.Blame and gaslight and abuse geriatric patients.
Killer Penguin: If you care about your well-being, go somewhere else. It’s as simple as that.
Nicholas Hajjar: Just tried to order contacts online and the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and refused to email me any information regarding my prescription. This is a problem I have had with them in the past and will be changing eye doctors, trying to even see is an ordeal with them.
Edith Raines: The best eye care specialists ever. They are amazing at taking care of patients and I am very grateful that they helped me to see again.
Catherine La Touche: I had to travel 2 hrs each way, and it was worth every minute. It was an across-the-board excellent experience at the Waltham clinic. Really friendly staff, very efficient process from start to finish, attractive location with easy parking. I had an extremely satisfying and productive meeting with the ophthalmologist, Dr. Rao.
Amelia Igoe: Routine cataract surgery in November. Day one after surgery complained about not being able to see with repaired eye. Was told to give it more time. 6 weeks later still blurred vision, headaches, unable to view TV or computer screens etc with repaired eye. Was told my brain needed more time to catch up with all the light now streaming through repaired lens. Sought second opinion. I have optic nerve damage from a hemangioma behind my eye which needs to be surgically removed. If the OCB surgeon had listen to my complaints and taken an extra 5 minutes to look into the back of my eye like the second doctor did, this would have been resolved months ago. This place is a factory and they just want to get you in and out. People, if you have issues make sure you get a second opinion. Don’t blindly believe what every doctor tells you. My hemangioma has been there for years and not caused by the surgery but the OCB doctor should have listed to my complaints and delved deeper into my eye. They have the tools to do that but didn’t.
Susan Rugnetta: We had a 2:30 appointment. We were seen by Dr at 4pm for 5 min. only to be told there was nothing they could do to address my mothers situation. I have low confidence in this assessment as the team was overwhelmed, tired and felt as if they lacked the energy to address my mothers situation. I will be booking an appointment at NE Eye for a second opinion
Kathy Cronin: Terrible disorganized practice. Scheduling office is confused and unable to book appointments correctly -- the most basic part of any medical practice. I took a half day off work only to sit in the doctor's chair and be told that I would not be having an eye exam to update my eyeglass prescription. That is exactly the appointment I had specifically requested. When the appointment booker mentioned that they might dialate my eyes, I even asked if that would be after my eye exam because I couldn't take an eye exam after my eyes were dialated. The scheduler said YES. This was not the case AND a total waste of time. They were not apologetic at all. Said "mistakes" happen. They did say they could try to get me in to see an optometrist first -- but they had no idea who was available and how much time it would take. I decided to leave. This was disrespectful of my time. No one apologized or called me after I left the appointment. I wish I had read all the accurate bad reviews before engaging with this practice.
Anne Marie Lourens: Consultation only - i will not return to this practice.
Brendan Fitzpatrick: Great care and visits with Dr. Raismann
Nicole Tomaszewski: I had a great experience here! I went into the visit very nervous about my eye issues especially with myself being so young and not knowing what to expect, but my concerns were taken to heart and fully examined by each individual. The whole process was organized and thorough from the moment I entered the office - there was a steady flow from check in to the moment I was examined by Dr. Wiegand. He showed me the images that were taken of my eyes and explained them in detail, and sent me home with a list of what to look out for and when to return, which ultimately put me at ease. His support staff and doctors were very knowledgable and caring - they work quick but are thorough and efficient!
Franziska: I’ve not yet been seen, but just dealing with the scheduler was terrible. They were rude, unhelpful and hung up on me.
Melinda Bruno-Smith: I had a very negative experience today with Betty, the Vision Field Technician.I would suggest some sensitivity and kindness training for her in addition to technical training. We produced inaccurate test results and did not redo the test. So uncaring.
michael giso: These people are horrible and cheat’s. They said the doctor I wanted to see was booked up in Boston and that she is in Waltham one day a week. They also said that I could get glasses there if needed. When I got to Waltham, I was told that this doctor is only in Boston. They further stated that we don’t do glasses here and never did. They then wanted all my medical cards to make copies of. Even when I told them that my cost was pre paid with Davis Vision, my eye insurance. The receptionist wanted me to pay them 50 dollars even though it was pre paid. They then proceeded to give my a shoddy eye exam. I later found out that they billed my medical insurance for hundreds of dollars as a medical appointment when it was just an eye exam. They also had the nerve to send me a bill for thirty more dollars for this sham. All that money and did not get what I went there for or needed. If you are smart never go to these people or give them you information. They should be investigated for their shoddy practices. Never never go to them and I guess that’s how the owners make there money for their fancy stuff
S.846 S.846: I went for a medical visit for the doctor to disregard me and basically try to convince me that nothing was wrong with my glasses. Not only did I waste my time, but the doctor I saw disregarded my concerns, and then proceeded to tell me not to get any second opinions. The whole visit was a waste of time. I didn’t have any resolution after my visit. I specifically booked this appointment to inquire about my eyeglasses and the headaches they gave me, not to be told to deal with it.
Robert Misurelli: Just received a bill 3 months after my appointment showing that my account is past due. They also don’t take vision insurance which is absolutely ridiculous considering you are being seen to check on your vision. Now I have to pay $400 out of pocket for a standard eye exam. Never again will I go to Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.
Libra Lady13: I had to have 11 surgeries n my optic nerve was severed by laser when Dr Ansari did the procedure.
Violetta Valery: Horrible! You'll go blind before they answer the phone.Like many high-earners who run businesses, they will not hire staff to take care of the customers. It's bad enough they make returning patients wait as long as they do, but they harass you with advertisements the entire time you are on hold - which could be 15 minutes.
Jan In Arlington: This is the best group of ophthalmic physicians in the state - probably the entire East Coast. It's unfortunate that there isn't a way to separate reviews of the administrative section from those for the medical doctors. My husband and I were referred to them by another physician and we've found every single doctor our family has seen to be outstanding. It would be sad for someone just glancing at reviews to conclude that the medical care isn't first rate, because they'd be missing out on superb medical care. The admin section, on the other hand, needs serious improvement. And no, I'm not related to anyone working at OCB.
Christine Grace Frances: I am very impressed with the care I receive here!
Lisa Le: I tried to make an appt as a new patient here and the Boston office was not helpful at all. They said I needed a referral, so I had my PCP's office send one. I called the next day to follow up and they said someone would call as soon as they received the referral. I waited a few hours and didn't hear anything, so I called back. The person who I spoke to said "Oh yeah, we have your referral here." Okay, fine. I inquired about making an appt because my left eye was inflammed and painful. They said they couldn't find anything available for the doctor I was referred to, but they would reach back out to me later once they got in touch with the doctor's other offices. I waited until 3pm and called back to see what was going on. I was on hold for 5 mins, then someone picked up and hung up one me. So unprofessional. I ended up going to MEEI ER and they were able to help me. As of today, I still have not heard back from OCB. I did everything on my part and they did not follow through on their end.

Jason C: Dr Wu is the definition of top notch cornea specialist and she has a very pleasant and professional staff to go along with her. Highly recommend
Hetal Patel: being seen by Dr. Hettler-Young was such a positive experience. No judgement, no stupid questions, no information was unneccesary or useless. Endless patience, and didn't make you feel like she was in a rush to see the next patient.Optical shop is right next door and if you're in there, see Lisa who helped me look for the perfect pair of eyeglasses and then didn't blink when I asked if I could use my old frame instead. She cared, went above and beyond to make sure I found a pair that suited me, introduced me to new styles, and didn't try to "sell" me anything, other than helping me find a frame style that looked good. Big props to lisa and her dedication to helping patients.
Farc Herring: Horrible service. I have wasted an entire day waiting for the ophthalmology.

Dr. Peter A. Rapoza, MD: what do users think?
Rob Taylor: I have read some fair but not great review for Dr. Rapoza. He was absolutely great for me - the entire experience of 2 lens replacements was great- he called me for follow up and my eye sight is very good. I am going on 2 years now. I would not be guided by a 2 or 1 3 rating - reminds me of the 1980s and the east European judges in the Olympics- there are other reasons at play here I think/
Susan Hahn: I am a patient if Dr. Rapoza's for Fuchs dystrophy. He did a successful DMEK procedure on my right eye. Left eye scheduled soon. I'm very happy with the results and the way I was treated.
Jia: I had a lasik consult with him last week. The wait time to be seen was an hour and fifteen minutes and was told by the assistant that’s a normal thing there. I didn’t have anything else in my schedule so I waited patiently. The doctor Seems like a nice doctor overall. His assistant was extremely nice and friendly but the thing I was confused about was that his assistant did a lot of the general testing such as the Snellen (E) chart that the doctor normally does. I also felt as if she rushed through it. After the doctor examined me he said I had to come back in a year which I found crazy. He said he wanted to see if my vision changed and also that I have an astigmatism and that if nothing changed that he’d be happy to do the surgery. I’ve never heard of any provider doing this. I’m thirty years old and my vision hasn’t changed all that much. I didn’t like the explanation he gave me so I have another consult with another provider for a second opinion. He’s not a bad doctor, I just felt rushed in the visit and didn’t really like the outcome of it either.
Katy Vitiello: extremely skilled and extremely nice!!!! trust him with your eyes! You'll be glad you did!
Martha Perez: He is the best doctor ever , he fixed my damage eye for a surgery there I have in another country.
Jessica: Extremely friendly staff, beautiful office, and Dr was sweet as can be!!!
Nicole Salvaggio: I recently got a consultation with Dr.Rapoza for lasik. Everyone there was so friendly and made sure i was taken care of. Dr. Rapoza is a great doctor and made my experience there very comfortable.
Steve Linsky: I've been working with Doctor Rapoza for 18 years, 3 surgeries and 3 lesser procedures. He is a pleasure to deal with and is a skilled physician.Dr.Rapoza fixed issues that no other surgeon wanted to touch. I could not recommend anyone more.
charlie blute: I have been a patient of Dr. Rapoza and he has done cataract surgery on both of my eyes. He is a competent surgeon and is very skilled in his craft. I would highly recommend Peter for anyone seeking eye surgery or a consultation regarding their vision or any difficulty with their vision.

Judea Beatrice: I've been going to Dr. Baumal for several years and have received the highest quality care. Very grateful for her and for the excellent staff at this facility. Sometimes there is a wait but these doctors and techs are extremely thorough, talented and committed to their work. I feel like they care about my eyes more than I do. It's great to know I am in knowledgeable and caring hands.
Lin Clifford: They are the BEST. I travel from western NH to be treated by Dr. Hedges and Dr. Duker and have never been sorry.
Farc Herring: I have been waiting 3 hours to see the doctor as my appointment was at 1:30pm. I will be finding another doctor.

Sr. Helena Burns, fsp: Outstanding in every way. Saw a student doctor, then a seasoned doc. Super helpful and thorough. Optometrist on site was great. Snazzy & extensive selection of eyewear!
Deidre Waller: I have been coming here for over 30 yrs. The staff is always responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. The optical shop is up to date on stylish frames and they offer a variety of brands for contact lens wearers like myself. You won’t always get the same physician but I totally support educating new clinicians.

MARGARITA0077: I GOT A FAST APPOINTMENT THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT...
Trish Sullivan: I never write reviews but this place has awful service. I do not recommend going here if you want to get your contacts in less than a month. Every time I ordered contacts, I was never called when they came in and had to constantly call to track them. Even when I had them label the right and the left eye on the box they messed that up. The last time was the final straw and the last time I had to deal with them since I’ve had no choice but to switch offices. I ordered my contacts they said they would mail them to my house, 3 weeks later they still weren’t there(I had run out of contacts a week earlier). I call and they have no idea where they are but the manager will call the next day. Obviously I never got a call back so I had to cal and the front desk said oh they were returned here the address didn’t work(not shocked since they never do their job anyways so they prob messed up my address). I never got to talk to the manager but if I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve had contacts my entire life and they normally come within a week, I’ve never heard of it taking 3-4 weeks for my monthly prescription. No communication at this office, and it appears no one does their job and contact you when your contacts come in.
