RA H: So, a friend of mine asked me to go and see this doctor or practitioner there named Sophia Derosa because she and her family had seen her. She booked me an appt and it took 4 months to even see this practitioner. I was told by my friend who booked the appt they accept my insurance, AETNA. I was sent a 30 PAGE screening docs which took me an entire hour on my laptop to fill out, put my insurance info in etc. I showed up for the appt and the receptionist Caroline took my AETNA insurance card smiled and scanned it. She gave it back to me and told me to wait in the lobby. I had a great appt with Sophia but when I returned to the front desk they told me I owed them $400!!! I was shocked and asked why, I gave them my AETNA Card. The other receptionist in a very shallow tone of voice said oh sorry we don't accept AETNA you'll have to pay out of pocket. I paid them in full because I didn't want to cause a scene.After I left I called my friend and she flipped out and told me they did tell her they took AETNA. I called them back and Caroline said oh I'm so sorry I'm just so sorry and told me my friend must have been mistaken. I finally spoke with the office manager Sarah and asked why I wasn't told my insurance wouldn't be accepted when I walked in. She told me it was discussed when the appt was made and they don't inform clients when they walk in because they presume you know (if you can wrap your mind around that). I told her my friend who booked the appt confirmed to her they accepted AETNA. Sarah told me my friend was informed they do not and that they had "notes" proving it. I called back my friend and she said that was a "bold faced lie". I called Sarah back and told her my friend confirms that is not true and I would love to see the "notes" in question. At that point she didn't want to continue she offered me a full refund and I took it. This entire process wasted a half day of my life and it also wasted Sophia Derosa's time as well. It's disappointing because I enjoyed working with Sophia.Don't walk in and give them your insurance card. They will smile, scan it, give it back, and not inform you if you're not covered. Check their website and call your insurance company to confirm. My friend has been a patient there for some time and she wasn't confused, the staff simply didn't do their jobs. It's very poor business practice by this medical office.Which insurers are accepted also isn't noted anywhere on their 30 page questionnaire. It is on their website if you scroll to find it but I think most patients would consider that irrelevant if you *walk in the door* and they smile and take my insurance card no questions asked. In every other doctor's office I've ever visited if you presented insurance not covered they would say to me Sir you understand we don't accept this insurance and you will be paying out of pocket today, correct? Then a client might say I'm sorry I thought you did, I won't be taking the appointment, goodbye or respond yes I understand please proceed. Not at Rothfeld! $400 an hour is expensive, know what you're walking into before you walk in.UPDATE 6 WEEKS LATER:The Rothfeld center only partially refunded me the $400 visit. $200 was charged on my Amex card, and instead of refunding me they DOUBLE CHARGED ME. I had to have Amex create a merchant dispute, which the Rothfeld Center took almost 6 weeks to respond to. When I phone Stephanie Foster they're billing manager, she told me it was a "simple error" and she would correct it the next day. She never did. I phoned, called, emailed, NO ON IN THIS OFFICE PICKS UP THE PHONE WHEN YOU CALL. I now have to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's office to get my money back because they won't refund me.THIS PLACE IS NOT A DOCTOR'S OFFICE, DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $400 PER HOUR AND TRY TO SELL YOU RIDICULOUSLY PRICED VITAMINS TO SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS!

Pamela Lebowitz: Saved my life! A friend recommended Dr. Rothfeld to me in 2004. My blood pressure was out of control after taking the bar. The infusions resolved my problem. I was subsequently diagnosed with Stage IIIB breast cancer. Fortuitously, the Vitamin C infusions that I took for the BP appeared to start killing cancer cells, as evidenced by my mammogram. I did Vitamin C infusions from the Rothfeld Center before and after my chemo and radiation treatments. I am cancer free. I see Dr. Rothfeld as my true primary care doctor, although I have a "regular" one. I don't know what I would do without him.

I had a 9am appointment once takes me an hour to get to this office, and there were no patients ahead of me at 9am and still waited 35 minutes to be seen. Tim Dwyer: I’ve had chronic pain in my left shoulder for many years due to AC separation, torn rotator cuff and arthritis from sports injuries and lifting heavy weights. The arthritis pain has lingered and I was getting yearly cortisone shots. I decided I should give the prolotherapy a chance and after completing the treatment, I’m now able to workout pain free! The results have been remarkable.

David Gersh: I was suffering from bone-on-bone pain for both of my hips when I sought Dr. Franchi's alternative treatment to cortisone shots and hip replacement surgery. Having completed his recommended prolotherapy regimen to regrow fibers and separate the bones, I'm no longer experiencing pain and have become more mobile as a result. And should there be any regression, some additional boosters should resolve the issue. So overall I'm very pleased that I took this healthier, less invasive nonstandard approach.

Richard Curtis: I am a lifetime athlete and weightlifter @ 65 years young. After a number of years of pain in the right shoulder which not only was affecting my workouts but was interfering with my daily activities also, I decided to get it looked at. MRI revealed a partial - thickness rotator cuff tear. Did some research on Prolotherapy vs. surgery and decided upon the former. The key was with Prolotherapy your arm would not be in a sling for 4 - 6 weeks and other than avoiding any heavy lifting, you were free to go about your daily activities with 2 arms rather than 1! This was also important in the prevention of scar tissue, which is rather tough to get rid of in the shoulder joint. Dr. Franchi was very personable and showed genuine concern about progress or difficulties along the 5 week procedure. I am happy to report that Prolotherapy has worked VERY well for me - Thank you Dr. Franchi!

Michael Fresolone: During the early stages of the pandemic, I decided to start running again on a tread mill. Unfortunately, my knees didnt appreciate it and the bone on bone pain was tremendous. I got an xray that confirmed I have arthritis in both knees. I was told it was a matter of time before I would need knee surgery. The pain is real and surgery seemed inevitable as the pain was relentless. It was negatively impacting my work day as well as my sleep. I met with Dr. Franchi, he asked my age and I told him I am in my early 50's. He questioned the duration of the knee replacement surgery and offered his solution. Yesterday was my 5th prolotherapy appointment and all I can say is my quality of living has improved dramatically. Its not miracle work, its a science based method that has improved my life. I highly recommend Dr. Franchi. It has been a game changer for me!

S MR: Apprehensive - Don't be! I have had progressively worse knee pain in both knees for several years post knee surgery. Many nights I would wake up several times with a stabbing pain in my knee because I would be sleeping the same position for the past couple of hours. When I last saw my knee doctor about this pain, he recommended a cortisone shot. He said that my knees were filled with arthritis as well as some bone on bone discomfort. The cortisone shot lasted 3 months! What to do now! I wanted more long term relief and needed to do something other than cortisone. I listen to WBZ radio just about every day at lunch time and heard Dan Ray talk about BPT and Dr. Franchi for many years. After doing my own research as to what prolotherapy was and what it could do for me, I was sold! I was also impressed that Dr. Franchi called me to go over his therapy and if he thought I was a candidate. Today, I had my fifth injection in both knees and I am so happy now that I am on the path to less painful nights! Yes, the first 24 hours after the injection its a little uncomfortable but then the relief sets in you can feel the benefits. I might not be jumping up and down or running a marathon but I am able to get back to doing chores around the house and walking again! I am a prolotherpy client for life! Thank you Dr. Franchi!

Tiffany Ransom: I waited to make my review. My shoulder hurt so bad I wasnt able to wash the right side of my body. I couldnt sleep. I got to a point I wasnt able to move my shoulder. The pain often had me in tears. Putting on clothes was a challenge. I went to the doctor's they gave me 800mg Ibuprofen. This seriously was killing my liver and causing pain in my stomach. because I was popping them like candy (the pain was sooo bad) I would also take a gabapentin along with the ibuprofen. I started to have problems with my stomach and other things because I was taking so much pain killers. My doctor said they would give me therapy but would have to do surgery because that was the process they had to go thru. My shoulder needed to have surgery and after the surgery I would still experience some sort of pain. I was just going to go thru because no one could give me an alternative. Then I heard the commercial I called and went thru with the procedure. It has been over 6 months and my shoulder is pain free. I am more than happy. I literally cried. The doctor and his assistant was so flexible with ny schedule. They both made a wonderful team. I can't say enough about them. I called to see if there was a prolotherapy anywhere else because I couldn't understand how this procedure wasnt more widely known. I found a place. This person cost a million dollars and they charge for the consultation alone. You have to go thru all kinds a craziness just to get an appointment. Dr Franchi let's you know over the phone for free. I went to the office he let me know I only get charged if he gives me the shot. I wasnt expecting to get the shot on my 1st visit. I didnt have to wait weeks for an appointment. The only thing is why doesnt insurance pay for this procedure. Dr. Franchi does make this procedure affordable. But it still agitates me to no end that insurance will pay for all these procedures that will cause more problems. But a procedure the allows your body to heal itself isn't covered. I can write about the dr. ,the assistant, the procedure for hrs. But I think you got the point. Needless to say I am going back for my back.

Craig Cole: True story. 53 year old basketball and field hockey official with bone on bone and arthritis in both knees. Had MRI 2 years ago and my ortho just said "you are f----d"! Managed the pain but severely twisted my left knee in November in my last FH game and tried to ref basketball but could not run and recovery took 2 weeks +. I could barely walk. I'm on my 4th shot and reffing high school hoops 2-3 times per week albeit against Dr. Franchi's advice! I should've done this years ago. Thanks Dr. Franchi!

Instead of surgery I searched out alternatives and found Dr. Franchi after hearing his radio commercial on 98.5 The Sports Hub. I began treatments 3 years ago on my hip. I no longer suffer with aches and pain and I am not planning on a hip replacement anytime soon! I recently began prolotherapy treatment on my knees as my cartilage is worn out. KENNETH & FOSTER: Having had a significant knee injury, I tried Prolotherapy with Dr. Franchi to try and avoid major knee surgery. Eve Sinclair: Absolutely making Balans part of my wellness routine. The setting is intimate and very comfortable -- especially the rocking chairs. The neighborhood itself (Back Bay) is a cultural experience in itself. The Staff is welcoming, pleasant, and patient. Lucas, my massage therapist, worked the heck out of my problem areas! AND an "OMG, YESSS!" to the flotation room -- this experience should be in every spa. Alas, it is not. So work your way to Balans. You will Not be disappointed. A must visit!

Zara I: The front desk was extremely rude when I asked to book an appointment with Dazirae, who is the main reason the salon won best of Boston for facials this year. The owner is extremely shady and does not treat her employees well. The environment in the salon is tense and the employees are visibly under watch by the extremely overbearing manager. Overall uncomfortable vibe created by the owner of the spa. They lost three of their best employees last month and Balans Organic Spa is no longer worth the astronomical price tag because of that. Spend your money at the numerous other places that offer the same services in a better environment.

She was extremely knowledgeable in our consultation and very easy to talk to. The massage was one of the best in recent memories and while I’m fairly new to the facial game, it flowed seamlessly from the massage and was delightful. The float afterwards was the cherry on top, and Kristen even found me after to apply extra product that I enjoyed using during the facial. Would recommend and will be going back soon!

A A: My brother unfortunately had several negative experiences at this institution. When he requested assistance from the nurses, they did not come immediately or in a timely manner. On one occasion, he even fell down and was left unattended. In addition, there was one inexperienced nurse who was not aware of the proper procedure to remove blood from his belly, causing further complications.These unfortunate circumstances, combined with delayed treatment, ultimately led to his passing. As a result, I cannot recommend this facility for cancer treatment.Instead, I highly recommend the Mayo Clinic, which provides exceptional care and has a team of knowledgeable and professional medical staff.Don’t waste your time here at Dana-Farber!

Julie Mazzotti Yarusinsky: My first call to them was 54 hours ago, I have called 3 times and have emailed 2x, Today I got threw again today and was asked for my phone number in case we lost connection, I was on hold once again while they tried a 3rd time to find an coordinator, I was hung up on and no one called me back!! My husband has just been diagnosed 4th stage esophagus cancer and has been given 4 months to live and this place was needed for a second option, I received no help and no answers, I am now trying to look for help somewhere else, if you need immediate help, look elsewhere.

Amy Getchell: Went for my yearly cancer follow up appt in July. When I got there (not before), I was told Dr Iasello would be seeing me remotely. Why I had to drive to the office for that instead of staying home and doing it, I don’t know. I assume it was a billing thing. Whatever, I was already there, I guess.Then I get a bill for $690 for my 10 min “Skype” visit. My insurance paid $250, leaving me to pay the remainder. I paid $200 of it, not knowing any better. My insurance company, Cigna, told me I should only owe $50 to see a specialist. I called Dana Farber billing and told them that my copay should only be $50. They said that because Dana Farber bills through the facility rather than the doctor, like most other offices do, the insurance companies won’t pay the full amount. I asked why that was and was told that they get more money that way. I have to appreciate their honesty but I think it’s so wrong.Needless to say, I was sent to collections. I can pay it but it’s the principle. Hoping it doesn’t affect my credit.Time to find a new oncologist.

Charlotte Hyland: Great doctors, but the term "appointment" is used quite loosely here. Waiting 45 - 75min past my appointment time to see my oncologist or to receive treatment is the norm.Once the front desk attendant didn't check me in properly so I sat in the waiting room for 1hr before asking the front desk for an update, only to find out I was never checked in and my doc was wondering why I was so late!Once you finally make it into the exam room, the doctors are very kind and empathetic, and consider your quality of life when making treatment decisions.

Marilyn MC: 6/29/22 my Husband and I just arrived at this medical center . They have parking valet and self park. From hotel to here a lot of winding roads can be a bit confusing . Thank Christ we found our way to Dana Faber. You need to wear mask at all times. Their mask is first class tho . first floor you get your name tag and asked pre-screening COVID question . Then you go on the second floor for check in and lab services . So far everyone we have encounter that work here is five service. Found a nice little chapel , alway make sure in the chapel or not that you pray specially in places like this . Pray in the name of Jesus that is the name above all names .

Through it all, Dr. Glastein was there for us and assuring us that we would have success! Failing a fresh embryo transfer after retrieval, we had success upon our first frozen embryo transfer and are now roughly 33 weeks pregnant! Dr. Glatstein is a passionate, patient, and kind caregiver. We were so thankful to have him on our side. Don't wait to make an appointment... go see them now!

The compassion everyone here has for their patients is undeniable- this is one of the only Dr.'s offices where I know I will receive a warm and genuine voice on the other end of the phone for scheduling, nurse calls, etc. We never felt rushed into making any decisions, and their ability to teach us about the IVF process along the way was invaluable, which was a major contributing factor to our success. Lidia Lidia: Scammers! We were deceived. Do not believe a single word from a doctor or nurse! They will tell you about your insurance company in the smallest detail. They will provide you with services even without taking care of whether your insurance company covers these costs. They will tell you that everything is settled and you do not worry about anything. The only thing I do not understand is if the insurance does not cover certain expenses, so why do they continue to provide services and then kick money out of people? I can not talk to anyone for six months. When I call constantly answers the answering machine. And if someone talks to me, then only those people who do not have any idea about the situation that has occurred. Be careful and do not expect that the doctor will really help you. Prepare as you should for a meeting with your doctor and take a lawyer and a dictaphone with you. Because then there will be no one to protect you. And who knows how much you will be provided with services without the knowledge of the insurance company. After all, you will be strongly persuaded that they have agreed on everything for you. And then they will tell you that it's all your fault. I'm not a professional, I believe doctors. The oath of the hypocrite and so on. But as for me it is fraud.

Christina Laughlin: I had my eggs harvested at age 38 just to be safe.I have 22 eggs stored and frozen.I finally met an amazing man, got married and am trying to conceive the old fashioned way.It's nice to know I have a backup plan.Update: Unfortunately I had a false sense of security. Only one embryo made it to day 5 with a pgd result of normal. I did not get pregnant through IVF New England. I had another subsequent for harvests and on my transfer did have a successful pregnancy at age 42.

Joel McCarthy: I'm very surprised to read some of the negative comments about RSC (now IVF New England). We had a great experience with Dr. Pang and the rest of the staff - Linda, Paula, Ann, etc. I agree that they may be very serious sometimes and not always "warm and fuzzy"...but they are doing serious work and I always felt they were honest with us and gave us all the information we needed to make the best decisions (even if the information was sad and hard for us to hear)...they don't sugarcoat things - which we appreciated. We welcomed our beautiful son into the world in October, 2015. Couldn't be happier with IVF New England. We will be using them again for baby 2.

Asus a: Although this center statically has performed a high number of IVF, but for the reason below we decided to change the facility:- Request a copy of your record and verify the information after your diagnostic. Be sure that there was no misunderstanding.- IVF New England does not perform such an important operation in a Hospital- The calls are answered by answering machine and you need to leave a call back number. Unfortunately, this is commune in other facilities as well.- We really appreciated our Doctor. Despite her online reviews mentioning a rude attitude, she was serious and determined and I felt I can trust her when she performed my Sonhysterogram.- We did NOT found the staff sufficiently knowledgeable:a) The conversation on the phone was miss report when we requested the medical record.b) The laboratory tests which we informed that we have already performed one month before, was repeated unnecessarily.a) The phlebotomist kept the tourniquet tightened during the whole process of making ready the tubes and collecting blood around 7 min. (max should be 1-2 min).b) The nurse schedules a CBC test one day after I used 1 gram Antibiotic! (Antibiotic has effect on the count of your white blood cells)These are little errors and we have experienced such errors in lots of others facilities. As a patient I write this review in order to help other patients and medical facilities reduce human error maybe by strict training and monitoring or other solutions to be find.
