Boston School of Music Arts: what do users think?
Paul Marquez: Professional instructors who make learning fun! We appreciate that the children have performances to work toward and that all of the staff are always helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
Christopher D. Anderson: BSMA has been very patient with a beginning musician (who doesn't always handle criticism well!), I'm very impressed at how encouraging and inspiring the instruction has been. Now if I could just get my son to practice more . . .
Olumide Adebo: My son does violin lessons here and it's great to have that in the neighborhood.
Nneka Edwards-Burgess: As an adult learner, the atmosphere is not intimidating. My family and I enjoy learning together.
Soondarie Barker: Linda and Julie are the beautiful faces of BSMA. They are extremely efficient. They readily tackle any questions or scheduling conflicts. The instructors are knowledgeable and always friendly. They do a wonderful job of tailoring lessons to meet students where they are. Last, but not least, Sharon and Yuri are talented and passionate musicians. They have set the goal of filling hearts with the power of music and are committed to seeing that goal through to fruition for all who enter the doors of BSMA.
Tracey Worthen: Good music school close to my neighborhood. Great teachers and a good learning experience.
Ingrid: I do not have much to say than it is a fantastic school, well organized, where your child learns. I can see the progress. Great school! Music is like a balm for the soul!
Jane Wood: I learned how to play piano and do vocals here! I have been going here for 5 years and I have never had a bad experience! The owners are very cautious about Covid-19,which is a good thing! The teachers here really teach you what your limits really are and help you achieve your goals! Would really recommend for anything from ages 6+!
Eliane Shwairi: I started taking lessons and I like the place so far.
Kate Bosolango: I learned two of my main instruments at this school. They have wonderful professors and quality facilities.
Alyssa Whitworth: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Natalie Mitchell: wonderful atmosphere
Pierre Mentor: I enjoy the way they show me some lessons...then i do a lot of progress, when i practiced the guitar from them...🗼
Khu Duong: Friendly and knowledgeable staffs.
Alessandra Pollina: We’ve had a great experience so far with children’s piano lessons. The instructors are fantastic with kids, and the school has been easy to communicate with and be a part of.
Jeanel Humber: I love the classes. My daughter loves Ms. Sharon and has a great time in the class with her friends. She has learned about a lot of new instruments. It's very educational! "
george howard: Great place for young music learners
Avi Meyers: I feel lucky to have found Yury, Sharon and the Boston School of Music Arts. I began my journey at the age of 4 with classical violin lessons. These gradually turned into guitar lessons at the age of 15. I have always had a deep passion for music, but never quite felt fulfilled from it. When I began to write my own music, I realized this was the best way to focus my energies, and the next logical step was to find a voice coach. This led me to Yury, and we began a series of lessons. I soon realized I had stumbled upon more than a voice coach. Yury is my music mentor, he allows his students a chance to grow, and develop into artists in the most organic way possible. His knowledge of music, and skills on a plethora of instruments are unmatched. Couple this with the professional and warm-hearted nature of Sharon who runs the school, and I can't imagine why anyone would take lessons anywhere else. I felt compelled to write this review and encourage anyone with an interest or desire to play music to come down to the Boston School of Music Arts and get involved in this awesome community of musicians.

Page Music Lessons: what do users think?
MengDe Zhu: I called the number below and heard a voice message saying it is closed during holiday, reopening at Jan 3rd. But it is already Jan 7th. What's wrong?
Ngan Tran: I have been learning piano at Page Music Lessons for about 8 months now. My instructor is Sarah Yang, she is an amazing teacher who is very patient and helpful toward my learning process. The staff there are also very nice and friendly. I really enjoy the lessons and have a great time every time I come to the studio. I would definitely recommend Page Music Lessons to any of my friends who is interested in learning a new instrument.
Sanford McMurtry: I started taking piano lessons a few weeks ago without any previous experience other than having learned to play guitar over the past 15 years. Within a couple of weeks, Thomasina has helped me understand how to read music notation and play several songs. I am thrilled with the progress and recently upgraded my membership to the Full Membership plan and can't wait to take advantage of the benefits that are available with the membership.
Rebecca Ercolani: I have been taking piano lessons at the studio for just over a year now. As an adult, I had no prior experience to playing a musical instrument and because of this, was hesitant to begin knowing the learning curve I would be facing. My instructor, Pierre, has been extremely helpful and patient in this process, beginning my journey with the basics and gradually building up my skill set as I have been ready. He does an excellent job of teaching musical theory, which I found not only interesting, but beneficial as I learn more about different pieces and genres. The office staff is very kind and flexible, making it easy to reschedule or cancel lessons as needed. If you are looking to learn a new musical skill or brush up on one you already have, I would certainly recommend Page Music Lessons.
Ronan Barrett: I have been taking lessons with Page Music for approximately 3 years. Throughout that time I have enjoyed the experience of learning to play guitar. Matt has done a great job of challenging me to develop my skills at a pace I am comfortable with. SInce the pandemic began, lessons shifted to being virtual and we have hardly missed a beat. Via Zoom, Matt continued to work together. In fact, being able to play with my own amp. has contributed to my progress. I would absolutely recommend Page Music to any adult interested in learning to play. Virtual teaching did not affect the standard of instruction in any way.
Kurt Wagner: I'm an adult who has taken electric guitar lessons at Page Music Lessons for several years. The instructors are highly skilled, supportive, and extremely easy to work with. I also really enjoy the monthly jam nights, which gives students a chance to play together in a low pressure, fun, environment; but one which can be as challenging as you want to make it. The pandemic has obviously changed the way they operate, but the instructors have adapted and their personal Zoom lessons are virtually as good as live lessons, and very convenient! If you're an adult who has been thinking about starting or resuming playing music, this is a great time to do it, and I would highly recommend Page for lessons.
Deven Smith-Clarke: Great group of people. Instructors are good, and the song nights are great to play with other musicians.
Qi Liao: I have been taking piano lessons at Page Music for over a year. When I came here, I can hardly read the notes. After one year of commitment, I have finished one book and was able to perform my favorite Bach. Thank you Jasmine and Page Music. You are the best.
Niall Corrigan: My daughter has been taking violin lessons at Page Music for about 18 months now. The experience has been very positive. Her teacher, Taylor, has been wonderful - patient and encouraging. She takes an approach that might be described as Suzuki light, and will often spend some time on musical theory or history during the lessons. Daughter genuinely looks forward to her weekly lesson. The facility is also great. Conveniently located on Newbury St right by a the Hynes T-stop. They have a simple billing system that works well. The staff are extremely accomodating and responsive. They host regular recitals offsite that offer a non-threatening opportunity for students to play in front of a group. Finally, one of the managers/instructors (Rick) occasionally brings his dog to the studio - and she's fantastic!
Phyllis Wilker: I started violin lessons at Page about five months ago and I have really enjoyed them. I had studied violin when I was younger, but I hadn't taken lessons since high school, so I was more than a little apprehensive. My teacher, Taylor, has been great for me. She points out techniques that I need to improve, but she is also kind and encouraging. She has expertise in various types of violin playing - classical, jazz and bluegrass and she has been open to teaching me different types of music, as well as some music theory.
Michael Davin: As a 60 year old learning to play an instrument (guitar) for the first time, I'm thrilled I chose Page Music. My overall experience has been educational, relaxing and exciting. Matt is an amazing teacher! His patience and encouragement for a newbie like me has been inspirational. I look forward to continuing my lessons as I chase my goal of becoming a proficient, recreational guitarist. Thank you Page Music!!
John Cragin: Outstanding instruction that combines knowledge, patience, flexibility and humor. I might be one of the slowest students ever but I come away from each lesson knowing more and inspired to keep learning.
Juan Kim: Hey! I am just curious how much it is for a monthly lesson?
Stephanie Walther: I have had a significant improvement in my voice in the year that I have been taking lessons. I also participate in the jam nights, song nights, and recitals that Page offers. They give me a chance to work on stage fright, stage presence, working with an ensemble, and working with songs that stretch my comfort zone. My instructor and the jam/song night leaders have been incredibly supportive and positive as I learn to use my voice. It's been a great experience.
Kevin: I've been taking lessons with Aaron and Emily for a while now and have been extremely happy with the progress. They're friendly and helpful in providing a customized plan for improving, as well as extremely knowledgeable about theory, which is more than I had expected from lessons. Overall, the environment here is great, generally fun and relaxed, which makes it helpful for learning.
Eric Lavalliere: I've been taking Lessons at Page for Just over 6 months, my experience has been great! The first few months I stuck with one on one lessons to learn the basics. Recently I also got involved with song and jam nights. This has really brought everything together. The great private instruction combined with low pressure group classes is awesome.
Cara Donovan: My son and I have taken drum lessons with Dan at Page Music for almost 8 months. There are varied opportunities to play with others/before an audience. Dan is a patient and animated teacher and we look forward to our weekly lessons. I would highly recommend Page Music for first time musicians. They are flexible with proper notice to change if you need to. Instructors are knowledgeable and talented.
Ronald Lohse: I returned to playing piano after several years away. The studio and the instruction here is first rate. Plenty of opportunities to perform if that's your thing. Also, they have been very flexible whenever I have needed to reschedule. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking to start or continue their music education.
Kathleen C. Stone: I returned to playing piano as an adult and have studied with several teachers, but the most outstanding is Jasmine at Page Music. She is a terrific musician, trained in classical as well as jazz, and a great teacher as well. She pitches her lessons to my level, and combines playing with a little theory, and she never minds having to repeat or re-explain a point. I am delighted to be her student.
Julio Butter: I've been taking voice lessons from Page Music for approximately 6 months now and have been learning a lot! I am really happy for the service and quality of the lessons, and my voice improvement has exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend music school for any musician out there.
Sarah Fortune: Over the past six years, both my son and daughter have taken lessons at Page in drums and voice/bass respectively. We have been consistently impressed because their teachers have uniformly made learning to play instruments joyful. Not that the teachers don't have high standards and ask the kids to practice a lot----but the teachers allow the kids to explore their own musical interests through their respective instruments. This experience has contrasted with the kids' years in other, (more formal?) music schools where the curriculum marched through a series of learning to play books that were soul killingly boring. Also love the flexibility in scheduling.

Musicians Playground: what do users think?
Doug Vinitsky: Excellent instructors and environment
Riley Fox: Yo!! MP is the best!! If you're on the fence and reading this on Google just try it; the people (both other members and the staff) are so encouraging, talented, and chill. I have advanced dramatically as a guitar player since I started in May and have made some awesome new friends. My favorite things about MP include labs where you get to jam with other people, repertoire where we work on specific songs every week (Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven recently), the ability to practice and plug into an amp whenever I want, and the numerous events outside of classes (happy hour performances, hikes, Friendsgiving, etc.).Shout out to Eli, Kevin, and Kenan for the guitar wisdom, the Alyssas for maintaining the best vibes in the studio, and Rylee for having a sick name. 🤘😎
Neha Gupta: Musician's playground is one of the sweetest deals around for anyone who is looking to pick up a new hobby or reinvigorate an old one (piano, voice, guitar). I was intimidated at first thinking everyone would be really advanced with their music skills, but I was relieved to find that most members have full-time jobs and see this as an outlet and something they do for fun. Alyssa (the owner) creates a warm and welcoming environment and prioritizes building a community with happy hours and holiday events - it's a great way to get to know new people in the city!
Brittany Felder: This place is absolutely a musicians paradise! You have the option of going to guitar , vocal or piano labs and expanding your musical knowledge in all of these areas. You also get private lessons to expand on what you learn and focus your journey!I think the coolest part of musicians playground is being able to dabble in various instruments and still have a focus. It’s also an amazing way to meet high quality people and share in music together. This place has such a homey community and it’s very welcoming. Ive picked up a second instrument since I’ve started here and have already had the opportunity to perform! 10/10 would recommend
Korede Ogundele: Great coaching, great atmosphere, and different options for membership packages
Muthukumaran P K: MP is more like a family to me. I started 2 years back. Since then my piano progress has been stellar. I picked up guitar as well. High recommend any anyone/everyone to join the MP community! :)
Roseanna Chu: This place is AMAZING! It's a great place to learn voice, piano or guitar. I love that there are "drop in" classes as part of the membership and the instructors are incredible. They put on a happy hour every few months so students can showcase what they're working on. The atmosphere is so inviting and supportive. If you're thinking about lessons, just do it!
Ridge Salomon: The service there was great, I had a fun time using the space and not only is it a great space, but the staff there was very nice and accommodating, I would recommend connecting to Musicians Playground to anyone who wants a photo/video shoot.
Alyssa Palladino: I have been attending the Battle of the Bands classes at Musicians Playground, and I leave with a smile on my face every time. The whole team is so kind and they make it such a fun experience. I get one on one help on piano while also getting to play in small groups and a larger group with singers and guitarists. Alyssa and the entire team at Musicians Playground are so kind and welcoming, and I have a blast when I come to Musicians Playground. I would recommend MP to anyone who wants to take the next step, or the first step, in their musical journey. Look no further, this is the place!
Gerdine: First off, the booking process and the professionalism of Alyssa and her assistant Will are unmatched! I am a photographer and I have booked at a number of places, but this was by far the best space I’ve been to and the service was impeccable! I was able to do a great lifestyle photoshoot, and there was so many places to be creative. I appreciated the different elements of the space. I definitely plan to have my clients book here for the future. If you are a photographer looking for a space to have your next photoshoot, I would look no further, you will have everything you need here! Also, Will was the absolute best!! He was always available to help and checked to see if we need anything , he was so helpful! Overall it was such a great experience and I highly recommend it!
Jean-Pierre Salazar: I came to Boston for 1 month and decided to try out music lessons here. I had never taken any music lessons so I was a little hesitant but MP really has something for people of all skill levels. The value I got from unlimited group classes and 4 private lessons in that month was insane. Everytime I went in I walked away with some new understanding of my voice or piano playing. I did private vocal lessons with Kelsey who was always very encouraging . I sent some videos of our private lessons to other friends who had taken vocal classes and they were in awe of how supportive and kind she was. Most importantly, all of my sessions with Kelsey felt collaborative and helped build my confidence/abilities. I'm glad I could start my journey in vocal training with her. I wish I could take Musicians Playground with me wherever I travelled. I will continue virtually :). Make sure to take advantage of the band sessions if you are local . Im grateful for all of the wonderful instructors who helped me experience my first taste of music instruction. Really grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this community. Thank you!
William Phillips: Located in the heart of Boston, Musician Playground is the best studio to grow as a musician. As a recent college graduate who has always had a passion for music, this organization offers the support, direction, and guidance to achieve one’s goals. Some key features of the studio include practice rooms, a self-serve kitchen, rental space, and much more. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and talented as well. They provide their students with the confidence and skill to improve their musicianship. Currently, I am taking piano lessons which have been a wonderful experience. I believe I have finally found my community.
LDee Boutique: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueRented this space for a Photoshoot and the entire experience and service from the staff was wonderful, from start to finish! Alyssa and Will were amazing and the space is beautiful.
Christian Roman: Whether you've been playing for years or are just starting out, Musicians Playground is designed to help you become the best musician you want to be. The teachers genuinely care and inspire their students every class to create music and push themselves to learn new things. There is never not something to be excited about at MP as a member, whether it's live performances or the song of the month. Alyssa is wonderful and created an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in. If you've been looking for a place that invites all musicians, builds friendships and relationships, and will make you grow overall , Musicians Playground is perfect for you
Pragya Jalan: I started taking classes at Musicians Playground about a year ago - and I have loved every moment of it. I wanted to learn Piano and was looking for adult classes and a friend on mine suggested Musicians Playground. From the beginning everyone was super friendly and welcoming - from all the instructors to all their clients, and everyone is really helping each other succeed. I have been taking private lesson with Daniel as well and I can really see the difference from when I started to now. Every week I look forward to attending the classes as it really helps we unwind. Even during these trying times, they have seamlessly transitioned to online classes to continue teaching. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn an instrument or take voice classes.
Calvin Lin: It’s been a few months since I’ve joined for private the group vocal lessons and I’m really enjoying myself here. The community aspect is something you don’t usually see much of in other music schools so it really stands out in this regard. Otherwise the teachers know their stuff so no complaints there :)
Shawna Simon: I recently started taking the online classes and they are so much fun! The teachers foster a warm and supportive environment which has helped me to grow musically and personally. It feels great to take this time, not only to improve my musical skills, but also to be part of this wonderful virtual community.
mark sheremet: I was a volunteer at Musician's Playground and I absolutely loved it! The amount of enthusiasm all the teachers and volunteers have for the place is astounding! Everyone is working hard and smiling in the process. Alyssa manages the school phenomenally, making sure each and every student gets the attention and instruction they need to improve their musical abilities. I am definitely coming back soon!
翟曦雨: I took group lessons and private lessons. They are great! My private class teacher Daniel Nerger is very nice, smart, responsible, patient and effective and funny and even helped me find my girlfriend! Will go to Musicians Playground as long as I’m in Boston.
Ryan Gregory: I've had the pleasure of photographing several events at Musicians Playground, and every time I enter the space I am greeted by warm welcomes and music. The energy there is contagious, and I highly recommend MP for hosting events and music lessons. By far one of may favorite places to shoot because of the quality of the people and the space.
Steven Frey: Absolutely love this place, the whole team is incredibly knowledgeable, make very clear lesson plans & goals, and have set up a great community! After nearly 8 years of not having music as a part of my life, MP has been the catalyst to bringing it back into my daily routine!

Cambridge Piano Lessons: what do users think?
Rachel Rosso: I take lessons with Sienna at Cambridge Piano Lessons, and I have had a phenomenal experience as an adult trying to get back into learning piano and taking lessons. Sienna is an absolute genius. She has a brilliant way of explaining music and how to play the notes on the page. She challenges me and provides feedback that helps me to learn more about the foundation of the music. She also provides explanations in music theory (without going too much in the weeds!) which allows me to understand the basis/foundations of the music that I am playing. I feel like I have definitely improved and am getting the attention that I need to advance my skills.
scarlet ryane: Extraordinary! Each week, I feel so blessed that I get to work with Rasa. (You don't have to take my word for what a great pianist she is, you can hear her recordings on Amazon or see her videos on youtube. I saw her on YouTube and was struck not only by how beautifully she plays but also by her obvious physical ease while playing pieces of the highest difficulty.)It was when I saw her on YouTube that I thought, I wonder if she is taking students? I was afraid she would only want to teach budding virtuosos, but she is extremely patient, and is very attentive, willing to help me figure out what my issue is with a technique and then help me make the shifts and changes I need to, to get it right. When I started, I had played piano on my own in childhood but never took lessons. I looked for a teacher because I simply wanted to gain skills so that I could spend my "golden years" enjoying learning pieces I liked. I didn't think I would ever be great but I just wanted to enjoy myself. In August it will be 2 years and my ambition has totally shifted. I do enjoy myself -- But now the pieces I intend to learn are much more advanced. With Rasa's advice and guidance, I feel the sky's the limit! (even for me!)
Victoria Collins: I love my lessons with Rasa! She is not only an incredible teacher, but has also been a true mentor to me over the years. I have improved so much, and thanks to Rasa, my love and passion for music just keeps growing stronger.
George Keith: Lisa Lederer does a fantastic job of teaching violin to kids. We've been taking lessons with her for a couple years now, and I'm very impressed, both with her tutelage, and with the results she gets.

Amy Dancz Voice Studio: what do users think?
Greg Trost: Best voice studio ever!
Savanna Smith: This studio is well organized and well staffed. I had the pleasure of working with three of their amazing teachers, primarily Larisa who is very sweet and encouraging! I'm an adult beginner and she tailored the experience very well to my needs and interests. She is knowledgable, flexible and well-organized. I am more confident in my singing and general music knowledge thanks to this studio!
Lindsay Brownell: I'd highly recommend this studio for anyone who wants to learn how to sing! I'm an adult and started out as complete novice, and within a year I was amazed at how much I'd progressed.I took voice lessons with Sarah via the Amy Dancz studio starting just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. My lessons were shifted to Zoom, and they worked out surprisingly well! I also loved that we had quarterly Zoom recitals where I could perform my pieces and watch how other students were also progressing with their respective teachers. The physical location is easy to get to (right off the Red Line downtown) whenever in-person lessons resume. There are multiple teachers at the studio, and Amy helps to match you with whomever is best suited to teaching the style you want to learn. I've enjoyed it immensely!
Lacey Cukier: Very professional and great responsiveness. Quality voice teaching
Oscar Bravo: Great room to practice
Sarah K: This is my first time ever taking solo voice lessons, (I’m in my mid-20’s), and I’ve been learning from Veronica for a few months now. I came in wanting to dig into some audition pieces, and ultimately get some strength behind my voice to extend my range. I am so, so impressed. If you’re willing to really dig in, she has so much technical knowledge to impart and knows how to change something small for a better sound. Even though I fear going in each time because I don’t like the sound of my own voice, I come out of each lesson feeling so much better about myself and what I can do. Learning how to improve and taking little steps to do it has been really rewarding. I cannot recommend this studio enough.
Cami Chen: I have been taking a mix of private and group voice lessons here for ~ 6 months. The little prior experience I had was from doing non-auditioned voice ensemble in school many years ago. The instructors at Amy's studio are knowledgeable and encouraging. It keeps me motivated to continue challenging myself creatively. The studio has a supporting community of amateur and professional musicians, and provides frequent opportunities even for beginners and intermediate students to sing in front of small audience.
Arun Daniel: Frankie is a great voice teacher. He understands your needs and works with you at your level. He also teaches excellent techniques to improve all areas vocal performance.
Hannah Bend: I’ve been taking lessons from Amy for almost ten years; I can’t recommend her enough! She’s really good at explaining concepts, knows a lot of different ways of approaching a tough spot so she can really customize her teaching, regardless if we were working on classical, Broadway, pop, etc. She’s been 100% understanding that I don’t want to perform and only encourages me to push for what I want, but for her performers she’s constantly organizing recitals and relaying other opportunities to sing and grow. It’s been a pleasure to watch her studio grow!
Emily Bieber-Harris: Amy's been a great teacher and coach. She not only knows how to bring my voice out to its full potential, but she's been invaluable in helping me polish my presentation and interpretation of my songs. I've seen her bring out the best in beginners and she's helped me as an experienced singer, so I absolutely recommend her and her studio to singers of any level!
Jamie Hart: As a professional vocalist and professor of voice , I rarely take voice lessons myself. I went to Amy to brush up on my classical skills and I was floored with the progress I made in such a short time. I have TWO degrees in classical voice and none of my previous teachers had been able to rectify some of my problametic vowels. Amy gave me new exercises and concepts to play with that have helped me tremendously. I now use the exercises with my own students with great success. I also proudly send students to this studio when I am unable to teach. I highly recommend this studio for a high caliber of professional training from brilliant and experienced teachers.
Kevin Eldridge: Amy is an incredible teacher - she breaks down singing technique in an easy to understand way and shows me that my voice is way more capable than I thought it was! She provides very practical exercises and examples that help me better understand the mechanics of singing, and provides helpful feedback whenever I fall off of my technique. Most importantly, she makes lessons fun! I highly recommend taking lessons with Amy.
Aaron Vienneau: I'd never met someone I would call a 'scholar' in their field until I met Joshua Dixon. He's a world-class vocalist and an extraordinary instructor. My absolute favorite quality about Josh is his ability to practically apply his plethora of musical theory in ways that make sense -- and are appropriate -- for your progression as a vocalist. He adds a depth to musical instruction that I've never encountered before: a capacity to talk about how musical techniques relate to your vocal system and how that system supports your tone/pitch/volume. Its with this objective foundation of practical knowledge that Josh begins to instruct you in a way that can be conformed uniquely to your areas of improvement. I've, without a doubt, learned more from Joshua in the 5 visits I've had with him than the 5+ years of previous training I've had throughout my lifetime.
Lisa Liu: When I moved to Boston last year, I knew I wanted to challenge myself artistically. Among all the choices I had—dance, painting, acting, among others—I chose vocal lessons with Amy Dancz and have not questioned my decision since.Amy is the best vocal instructor I could ask for. Not only is she professional and remembers minute details about your progress between classes, she makes singing *fun*. Additionally, Amy is just as comfortable with developing vocal skills for pop as she is for classical music (and the same holds true for all genres).Furthermore, in addition to two recitals a year, Amy offers studio class every month, which is a class devoted to emotional arc and musical expression. This class is unique, as it highlights the diversity and talent of Amy’s students. And the best part about studio put simply—it brings together a group of people who love to sing and are willing to learn more.If you are looking for a vocal instructor in the Boston area, you won’t be disappointed with Amy Dancz. I recommend her with no reservations. Looking back at all the progress I made in the past year, I know I am a stronger, more confident singer. I can’t wait to see how much more I will grow as a singer with Amy’s instruction.
Alex Willisson: I started taking weekly lessons with Amy over a year ago, starting from essentially no singing experience beyond some stuff when I was little. Amy's a great instructor and is wonderful at mixing encouragement and constructive criticism. I'm constantly asking for technical details and she really knows her stuff. Looking back I can tell how far I've come since I started taking lessons. In retrospect, I'm guessing I didn't sound very good when I first started, but Amy always picked out the good things to say and helped me find what I could improve. I definitely haven't been the best student (I've certainly gone weeks without practicing between lessons!), but I'm always looking forward to my next lesson even if I come in shuffling my feet and saying that I haven't practiced at all since I'd last come in.I highly recommend taking lessons from Amy. Even if you're just toying with the idea of singing, just try it out. I was pretty hesitant when I started but I decided to dive straight in head first and I'm very glad I did.
Doug Reichgott: Our daughter has been taking lessons with Amy for a few years. Amy is a great teacher who has shown an ability to work with kids. We have heard tremendous improvement based on her teaching. She also provides additional opportunities other than lessons including performance and studio classes.
Ashley Feldman: Amy is spunky and very encouraging! She is great with teaching technique, selecting material suited for my voice and introducing me to various auditions and workshops in my community. Her studio is a comfortable environment overlooking the Boston commons and i have already seen tremendous improvement in my voice within just a few months of working with her. Her enthusiasm shines through and she genuinely cares about my progress and vocal health. Amy is very patient and provides me with a safe space to be myself and work on my craft. I would highly recommend!
Teague Bick: A very supportive and excellent teacher. Her lessons are tailored to the individual - she can dive deep into theory or just surf the top, drive deep into classical singing (her forte) or bring you on a safari through pop. But above all, she teaches practical and correct technique, and gives plenty of opportunities to practice and expand oneself as an artist. The only downside is she made my mother weep - tears of surprise and joy at "My son sang that?"
Jason Kaplan: Amy brings boundless enthusiasm, passion and skill to every lesson. After just a few months under her direction, I’m enjoying new levels of confidence with my voice. Most of all, I enjoy Amy’s ability to adapt to different vocal/musical styles. It keeps our lessons fresh and my range diverse. If you’re searching for a vocal instructor in Boston, look no further than Amy Dancz.
Laura Edwards: Voice lessons with Amy have been life-changing! No exaggeration. Above and beyond being incredibly talented and extensively trained, Amy seems to meet all her students right where they are and help them to achieve their individual goals. She gives both constructive criticism to help you improve, as well as lots of praise and encouragement to keep you inspired and motivated.I went to Amy to start singing for the first time since middle school, and because I'd always thought it would be fun (though scary) to audition for a community theatre musical. She's been amazing at getting me back into my voice as well as preparing me for any auditions I decided to take on. Since starting lessons with Amy less than a year ago, I have already completed one musical and am now a principal in one going up next weekend! What I think is especially great about Amy though, is that she is very attentive to each student's needs and goals. Through recitals and monthly group performances which we get the opportunity to participate in as her students, I've met a lot of other students of Amy's who are singing for very different reasons, but who are all really happy and getting exactly what they want from the experience. If you have even a slight inclination to take a voice lesson, run - don't walk - to get one with Amy Dancz!

City Strings & Piano: what do users think?
Ruby Shiu: My daughter thoroughly enjoys her piano lessons with her super engaging teacher, who guides her playing through her own imagination and fantasy. It's a joy to see them at their lesson!
Xochitl Rodriguez: City Strings in my experience has surpassed my expectations! Both instructors I had through City Strings, most recently, Charlotte on the viola (!) have been lovely people and dynamic, patient, and creative instructors! Taught me to be a new viola player loving the instrument and and the learning process. They are also immensely knowledgeable! - so, highly highly recommend to anyone interested in learning any instrument- for me it was viola and violin and it was excellent times. Shout out too to Dominic for always facilitating everything seamlessly and in the most easy way for me. Thank you all!
James Hudson: Fantastic teachers and instruments. A wonderful experience!
Keely Faridi: Sean is an amazing teacher. He is incredibly patient and uses several different methods to teach the same song so the musical concepts are understood. We’ve had Sean a few years and my daughter has come a long way. Dominic makes everything seem less and is super helpful with rental companies.
Michal Urieli: My son studied piano with City Strings. I was impressed from the start with the thoughtful communication, and flexibility in scheduling in-home classes based on my busy schedule. I communicated mainly with Dominic, and with my son's piano teacher, Sunny. Dominic is kind, helpful and thorough, and Sunny, a Juilliard graduate, is a gentle, incredibly talented, and committed teacher. I would highly recommend City Strings to anyone. We are currently taking a break due to travel plans, but intend to return to City Strings when back in the city.
Erin Grau: From a curious 4 year old to a confident 7 year old musician, we've watched our daughter thrive with Sally as her teacher. She started playing violin, and now plays both violin and piano, she can read music, and even writes her own songs. Her little sister thought it looked so fun that she started playing when she turned 4, too! When our oldest first asked to play violin, I had no idea where to turn because I am not a musician, but after some research we found City Strings & Piano, and they've been so easy to work with, so professional, with such a strong roster of professionally trained musicians and gifted teachers, and they have the cutest and well-organized recitals. Even during the pandemic, they found creative ways to engage the kids in music. We highly recommend them!!
Janie Hwang: My 10-year old daughter has been studying with Julia Birmbaum from City Strings for almost 2 year. Julia has done a great job helping her with specific songs, etudes and scales. She works with her on fundamentals, finger and bowing technics. The City Strings program provides a nice platform for lessons / recitals. Their cost structure offers good value and they have done a good job transitioning to virtual - in-person based on individual families comfort level with in-home lessons.
nathan richardson: We have been working with a wonderfully gifted and patient piano teacher who has really stimulated my twin 6yo’s . We play for friends and have done recitals- super impressive systems.
Stephen Shen: I really enjoy my piano lessons with City Strings & Piano. Dominic has been so responsive to questions and finding the best fit in a teacher. The convenience of a teacher coming to my residence has saved me travel time and potential delays that would have taken away instructional time. My teacher Rita has been so patient and is so knowledgeable with a Ph.D. in music from U. Michigan. I feel that I'm really getting a fair value from my lessons. Would highly recommend for these reasons.
Joe Masi: I can not say enough about Dominic and his team at City Strings & Piano. His staff is absolutely amazing and have taught my 10 year old son how to play violin. A special thank you to Irene for her patience and commitment. If you or someone you know is looking to learn or advance their musical knowledge then look no further!! City Strings & Piano is the only place to go. I sincerely mean that. Joe M. NYC
Taneesha Crawford: My 4 year old son is currently taking lessons with Ms Cara since October. She is AMAZING!!! very friendly, patient and makes his lessons fun!
Michael Healey: My son (who's in third grade) has been taking violin lessons with City Strings since last fall. We're very happy with it. The price is reasonable, and you can't beat the convenience of having the lesson in your own home. But the best part has been my son's teacher, Caroline, who is excellent. She's great at dealing with kids on their level without talking down to them. She's got all kinds of tricks for motivating them and helping kids understand music!
Kenechi Ufondu: I've had an awesome experience with City Strings & Piano. Very professional and talented teachers. My violin skills have dramatically improved since starting lessons with them.
Jamillah Davis-Hernandez: We started our son with violin lessons in May. We have been so pleased with his instructor Steven. He is so flexible with his schedule and is patient. I recommend City Strings to everyone. Dominic also works with you on finding the perfect instructor for your child. They’re just amazing!!!
Camillia Matuk: My 3.5-year old son has been taking violin lessons from Dominic at City Strings & Piano for a month now, and he loves them. Dominic knows exactly how to how to make him excited about music and about practicing. In addition, having Dominic come to our home, and being able to rent instruments directly from him, has really simplified the whole process for us. We look forward to our lesson every week!
Angie Kamath: My daughter loves her lessons with Cara. In a month she has learned a few songs and has been excited to practice. Cara and City Strings have been super responsive to all of our questions and we could not be happily in terms of how quickly and easily we got set up with a great instructors. We would highly recommend City Strings.
M I: My 10 y.o. son took cello lessons with Adrian for 5 months and his skills not only improved a lot but he is also now more motivated to keep practicing every day. It was so helpful to have Adrian come home for the lessons and he was very kind, polite, friendly and of course very knowledgeable. We’ll miss having lessons with Adrian every week; we regret we cannot continue with the lessons as we are moving to another country.
Julianne Sachs: We have had a great experience with City Strings. Our son has picked things up pretty quickly and our instructor has helped make the lessons fun and engaging!
Cara Macari: My 5 year old daughter couldn't wait to start violin lessons. It was only after finding City Strings and Piano that we were able to find a teacher that was not only a masterful instructor, but also knowledgable about various teaching approaches, and flexible and responsive to my daughter's specific learning style. She got to participate in a wonderful recital experience. I highly recommend City Strings!
Susan Mitchell: We have two sons who have both taken lessons at home with Cincinnati Strings. Thomas, who is 10 years old, has been taking violin lessons, first with Dominic and now with Scott Jackson, for over three years now. Duncan was 16 years old when he started taking piano lessons with Jordan Neiman. The teachers have all gotten to know both boys as individuals and adjusted their teaching to best suit their learning styles while making the lessons fun. Sometimes it can take several different approaches before a new passage or piece can be mastered. Scott and Dominic, with patience and perseverance, are able to push Thomas beyond what he thought he was capable of doing. Thomas in turn has not only been learning to play violin and develop a love of music, but along the way is himself learning about patience and perseverance. Having lived in different cities, we have worked with a variety of music teachers and we have been really pleased with Cincinnati Strings. The convenience of having the lessons at home with these fantastic teachers and the added option of their group class really is the best I could have hoped for.

Brownstone Music Lessons: what do users think?
Alejandra Williamson: My older son took piano lessons at a music academy when he was 5, but he never got “hooked”. Therefore, we decided to take a break. Last year, 4 years later, he mentioned he wanted to play piano again, so we did a Google search looking for a private tutor considering all the deal with Covid. This time we were looking to start piano for both of our sons. We came across Brownstone Music and decided to give it a try. I did not know what to expect of a piano lesson online, but I was truly impressed by it! Brett was able to engage our boys in piano, each during their own private lesson, to a point that both boys were excited about continuing! The week after their first lesson, the boys played the songs they learned with Bret and felt very accomplished when they realized they could play them with their eyes closed!Far beyond providing an opportunity to develop music skills, weekly piano lessons with Brett have built our boys’ confidence, determination and curiosity. Playing the piano has opened a window of great possibilities for them, they play the piano anytime they want and practice with enthusiasm, and they have also put together little concerts for us that we all feel very proud of. My younger son even composed his own song a few months ago. He is fortunate to have Brett be his first piano maestro. Bret is patient, encouraging, kind, funny, and very professional. We love him and respect him very much!
Sarah Yorra: My 9 year old has been taking lessons for a couple of years. Brett is always patient and positive and communicating is easy. The transition to remote during the past year has been handled very well. We have really enjoyed our experience with the studio!
Julie Tsitron: Brett's approach to piano lessons for kids is relaxed and stress-free. He uses humor, positive reinforcement and open communication to help his students build confidence and feel empowered in their own learning. And it works! Our son has made tremendous progress in just a few months and most importantly, looks forward to his lesson every week. We're so glad Brett moved his classes online and has seamlessly continued to work with the kids during the pandemic. He's also super responsive and flexible when it comes to any questions or concerns from us (the parents). Thanks for being so awesome!
Story time with Kelsea: I’m so grateful to have found this piano teacher! He really is the best!! My son Loves his class And has learned so much in such a short time..I find his techniques inspiring, he approaches his students, asking permission.Giving them power to say “yes or no” if they are comfortable moving forward, also asking them to be “specific” in what they are having problems with, giving them a lot of positive reinforcements.. confidence to push through...Again I’m very pleased..grateful and happy to have found him..
Crystal Bueno: My son started piano lessons on his 14th birthday with Brett. He learned to play "Happy Birthday" at that first lesson and he was absolutely hooked. Brett makes the lessons fun; my son feels encouraged, challenged and supported, and we are proud that he's making tremendous progress. While we've been in this strange time of Covid quarantine, Brett started doing lessons remotely over Zoom. Music has turned out to be such a great outlet for stress and anxiety -- for the whole family -- when everything else is completely upside-down and in turmoil. We are very grateful to have found a great piano teacher. In my son's estimation, Brett has "boss piano skills!"
rafa shareef: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy 7 year old has been taking piano lessons with Brett for just a few weeks and he is already doing really well. Having never played piano or any instrument I am so impressed with his progress. Bretts skills with children has kept my son interested and looking forward for next class.
jen maloney: Brett is a gifted teacher. He uses positive reinforcement and humor to create a comfortable and supportive environment for young students. Brett doesn’t just teach my son how to play the piano- he has the patience and skills to help my son cultivate his individual curiosity about sound, rhythm, and song.I once asked an artist “what do you teach your students?” And he responded “what I learned yesterday.” Brett brings his eternal learning to his teaching. His commitment to his pursuit at the piano is infectious. You can see that he wants to share his knowledge and research and journey with his young students.I recommend him with the highest regard.
Paul O'Beirne: Brett has been a fantastic teacher with our son. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
Lizeth Ortigoza: More than just a piano lesson!Brett is a very talented instructor, very patient and responsive yet warm in his communication style. His unique way of teaching thorough kids to critical thinking, literacy skills, and emotional intelligence plus they have fun and gain self confidence.I'd certainly recommend Brett to any parent who has always wanted their children to learn piano lessons.
Ann Drobnik: Brett has been a phenomenal teacher for my son. Piano lessons have brought out a different side of him. He loves playing and wants to play...all the time! He feels a huge sense of accomplishment and has made incredible progress in a few months. As a parent, it's amazing to have an intrinsically motivated kid treating us to mini concerts every night. I highly recommend Brett!
Joane Gabriel: I don’t know where to start, I guess I’ll start by saying Brett is awesome. He is very patient and humble. My son is 8 and has been taking lessons from Brett since February and the progress he has made is amazing. I definitely would recommended any parent that is concerned about finding the perfect piano instructor to stop looking and give Brett a call. Thank you Brett for everything Brett!
Jennyfer Bagnall: My 9 year old son has been taking piano lessons with Brett for over 2 years. In that time he has played music from all genres, performed in front of an audience, and generally grown in both skills and love of music. He loves Brett, who is easy to get to know, encouraging, and talented. I love that Brett encourages a fun and creative approach and encourages the students to compose their own music.
Jennifer Friedlin: Brownstone Music Lessons is fantastic. Our teacher, Brett, has a great way of teaching young kids to play music by memorization and then moving on to reading music. We have been really impressed by our son's progress over the past six years -- he is now 11. I believe that Brett is so successful because he knows how to engage the kids and also when to give them space during their less motivated periods. There were times when my son was on the verge of quitting, but Brett pulled him through, always explaining but never hammering home the importance of practice and dedication. I'm really grateful to Brett for instilling in my son a love of music and an understanding of the dedication it takes to be great at music as well as anything else.
Lucy Stroup: Brett is a great teacher and is especially amazing with kids. My daughter loves taking lessons with him and his method has made her love playing piano.
Andrea Cherrington: My daughter loves Brett! She started composing after only a few months of lessons and he has a way of motivating her that I clearly am incapable of :)She’s learned a variety of songs, and was able to showcase her learning at the recitals Brett offers (not mandatory). He’s incredibly organized, on time, and patient with children. We had tried a few other teachers, and my daughter was begging for Brett, so that made our decision pretty easy.

LB Music School Medford: what do users think?
Alfonso Lau: We love LB Music School! My son has been taking piano and singing lessons since 2018 and we couldn't be happier with his progress. His teacher Katie does a great job keeping him engaged and building his confidence. I also took singing lessons with Katie last year and saw an immediate impact on my vocal skills. Carolyn the administrator is the best! Super welcoming and an effective communicator. I highly recommend LB Music School in Medford!
Adam Carroll: I'm an adult who has been taking voice lessons at LB Music School since 2017. Not only have I enjoyed my weekly solo lessons, but I've also had the opportunity to join other students in the school's a cappella group. My wonderful teachers Deborah and Katie have made me not only a better singer but also a more confident person. The school's administrative staff are also incredible: another review mentioned how they make you feel like you're the only person attending, and that's absolutely true.I waited a long time to start taking singing lessons. Once I finally began, I can honestly say it changed my life! Don't sleep on LB if you're in the same boat—check them out!
Cristina Del Sol: Experienced, kind and motivated teachers. Super positive learning environment! The best place for both kids and adults to meet music!
Mike Quinn: This is an excellent music school. My kids have worked with several of the teachers and they were all great! I highly recommend.
Mary Gillespie: LB Music is an outstanding music school. I started there with no background in music. I gave it a try and several years later I’m happy to say I still love it and over the years I’ve learned guitar, singing, and currently started piano. Everyone who works there is amazing. 5 star recommendation. Try it!
Katherine Dewey-Rosenfeld: I couldn’t be happier with the experience we have had with piano lessons through LB Music School. My daughter (6 at the time) was interested in trying piano lessons and we were able to start almost a year ago via Zoom due to Covid. I wasn’t sure what that would be like but it has been amazing. My daughter loves her teacher, Katie, and I’m not only amazed with the quality of the lessons but also the wonderful relationship she has formed with her. Katie has such a knack at engaging young students and makes the lessons accessible and fun. She has progressed so much in her abilities and it has helped her develop not only her talent but even better, her confidence. I would recommended LB Music School to anyone that asked, especially for someone new to an instrument because the environment is so inviting and supportive, which has been so important for my young musician!
Syhomara Escobar: My son has been taking piano lessons at LB music school for over two years and he absolutely loves it here. All the teachers that he has worked with have been very kind and patient with him. I would highly recommend LB music school to anyone that is interested in music.
Sande Raney: I really can't say enough good things about LB Music School! Our experience with them has been incredible since I first sent an inquiry email almost 2 years ago. Carolyn the administrator at the Medford location is amazing! She was so helpful in setting up our son Christopher with Lena, a voice teacher who was perfectly suited to his needs and goals. A few months later, when Lena moved from the Boston area we were disappointed but Carolyn then introduced us to Bethany and she has been fantastic ever since. Chris's voice range has increased quite a lot over the last 18 months. Bethany pushes him out of his comfort zone but let's him know he can do what she asks. The rapport she has with him is really great. Also, the way the organization pivoted to virtual instruction during the Covid-19 shutdown was brilliant. It was something to looks forward to for Chris each week - at a time when there was not a lot of things to brighten our days. I would highly recommend LB Music school to anyone! They really care about their students and go out of their way to make everyone's experience exceptional! If I could give them 10 stars I would!
Hussain AlNasser: This is one of the best music schools we tried in Massachusetts area. The teachers are top notch and they take every attention to teach music. We tried couple of teachers with my son throughout the last 2.5 years and they were outstanding. On top of that, you will find the administration team attention to every student, as of you are the only one attending. COVID time was difficult for everyone, and the school jumped back very quickly to resume classes remotely in a way that not only engaged our son, but also added music to our lives in a time we needed it the most.I highly recommend them for music classes for kids and adults alike.
Greg Slawson: I've taken lessons at 3 different music schools, but this is the best one for adults. They actually match you with a teacher based on your experience and musical interests, and the teachers work with you based on your musical goals. I was also given the opportunity to play (and perform) with an adult rock band! This school has lots of young students too, but has a greater number of adult students and really understands their needs!
Patricia Carmenatty: My Son has been taking violin lessons at LB for over 4+ years. The reason we keep coming back is plain and simple.. They are great! The teachers are patient and knowledgeable in what they do and how they teach their students. My son started out with Jane Park as his teacher.. she was awesome.. then she went onto other ventures and we now have ABE.. He is amazing.. my son talks about "how cool" he is. My son feels safe, confident and eager to learn which makes me feel happy to be a part of the LB community.
Anastasia Alcala: My daughter has been taking piano lessons at LB School Medford since kindergarten. She is very fond of music and her teacher at LB School helped her choose the right instrument for her age. The teacher is very good at making the lessons fun and challenging and my daughter is learning a lot. The staff is very supportive, helpful and friendly. We have a wonderful experience and we hope to continue for many years. We highly recommend LB School Medford.
nathaly p: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis music school is filled with amazing teachers such as Ms. Bethany Hickman who is my daughter’s singing teacher, she has taught her so much and has helped advanced her vocal skills. The patience, love and nurture this place puts in really makes it special!!!!!
kim gianino: Excellent! My son has been taking guitar lessons for a little over a year there and has learned so much! His teacher is awesome and he loves going to his lessons every week. The staff is so friendly and responsive to my emails/ questions. Highly recommend LB music school!
Mike Levine: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLB Music school has amazing teachers! I've been taking lessons here for years and I've loved it!
Joe Toporowski: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI've taken guitar lessons here for years, and the teachers and staff have been amazing. Well educated teachers who are extremely adept at teaching and playing. Fun and relaxed environment, and a full range of age groups. I look forward to my lesson each week, and definitely recommend LB Music!
Bob Levesque: “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream!”“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life”Last year, that small step led me to LB Music School in Medford, and has become an incredibly positive step in my life.I have always wanted to learn how to play the Violin, even as a kid, but life got in the way one way or another. Now, as a retired Engineer, with the encouragement of my lovely Bride, I decided to take that step, and researched music schools and individual teachers, looking for a teacher with reasonable fees and a good reputation, that teach what I want to learn. That’s where LB Music School came in.Talking with Carolyn, at the Medford location, we discussed MY needs, skill level, and taste in music, my expectations and goals. She assured me their school was right for me, and she was right! She set me up with the best violin teacher for my goals, Abe, and I have not looked back ever since.Abe has been extremely helpful, always encouraging, and inspirational, and has me on the right path towards my Ultimate Dream of playing the Violin. Please believe me, music lessons are NOT just for KIDS. In fact, I think adults get more of an immeasurable sense of satisfaction and self-confidence from achieving what seemed like an elusive goal…playing a musical instrument.Learning to play an instrument at LB Music School is great for your self-esteem and even better for your Soul!I love it!Bob Levesque
Marcela Rosas: We have been part of the LB Music School community for a few years. Our two children really love their piano lessons and go to the school happily. Teachers and admin staff at LB are very professional, they communicate promptly about any eventuality, and operations run smoothly. The school pivoted in a day or two to Zoom lessons back in March 2020, which helped with my children not to feel too isolated. And they pivoted back to in-person lessons with very clear hygiene policies as soon as health guidelines allowed. A special shout-out to Carolyn at the front desk, who goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and resolve any issues.
Alyssa Fedorchak: I've been a student at LB Music School for four years, and have enjoyed every moment. I'm an adult student who works in Boston during the week, so finding time for lessons and to practice was going to be difficult (so I thought), but I'd always wanted to play the guitar. The school is open late enough during the week that I was able to have lessons at a time that worked for me. My instructors work with me at my pace - they stress that practicing every day, even for 5 minutes, is better than not picking up my guitar at all. I've been so impressed with the quality of my instructors that I've also signed up for bass guitar, voice lessons, and band class! I learn so much about not just the instrument and how-to, but also about myself. I've now performed in multiple recitals with very little stage fright. Even as an adult, learning an instrument (your voice is one, too!) has instilled me with so much confidence in myself.
iury taia: This is my first experience with a music school and I couldn't be happier with the service and skills of the teachers and customer service provided by Carol.
Chrystal Lavallee: We have been a member of the LB Music School since 2017. We started in the Young Musician classes that built the foundation for music and worked our way to private lessons. We've had two wonderful teachers, both of whom we adore and built a wonderful relationship with. Ms. Annemarie moved away, but we have been with Ms. Christina since 2019. We can't sing her praises enough. She is kind, thoughtful, patient and a wonderful teacher. Since the Spring of 2020, we have moved to remote classes and they are going wonderfully. We love Ms. Christina's teaching and the communication of the school as a whole. Everyone is super responsive and easy to work with. This is definitely a place you'll want to start your child's musical journey!
