0: First and last time spending my money here. I spent $136 on a 14k gold nose stud only for the piercer to give me the wrong size jewelry. Not only is the jewelry too small but the post itself is silver. The piercer didn't measure the fit of the jewelry properly. In fact, she didn't bother measuring it at all! She simply just told me to tilt my head back so she could try to see up my nose, then she took a guess. After voicing my concern she reassured me it would fit properly and I trusted her since she is the "professional."When I reached out via email since my phone calls went unanswered they told me I would have to go back and pay an additional $15 for the post and $10 for the installation. None of this was communicated with me at the time of purchase.

Recently thought 2 of my piercings closed up after being out of the country and losing the jewelry for them so went to get them repierced. The looked and saw that they were still open just very constricted. Opened them up, put some new jewelry in, and got on my way for far less $ than I was expecting.

I do not want to go to another piercer ever. fast, professional, knowledgable. Hes been doing this since 1999, so I trust him endlessly to do it clean and appropriate.I originally wanted a different piercing and he straight up said "no." because he knew the risk and didn't want to take that chance for either of us. The shop is clean, the waiting area is comfortable and I've been treated well every time. The shop manager is good at her job. Parking in this neighborhood kinda sucks, so if you're driving, give yourself extra time to make a couple rounds. They used to do walk ins on Saturdays, which I took advantage of. It's my understanding they became appointment only because of covid. Prices are totally fair for the industry.
Kara Coraccio: Got a piercing with Emrys yesteday, and can't recommend enough! I initially went in for an industrial but unfortunately I don't have the right anatomy for it. Emrys explained everything in great deal, and we came up with a great option to get a forward helix piercing to eventually incorporate with a prior piercing with a chain to get a similar industrial effect. Emrys was so nice and professional, and I felt super safe and confident that I was getting a quality piercing experince. Will definitely be returning in the future!Services:Piercings,Ear piercing

I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was warmly greeted and told I could get a piercing within 30 min - I ended up having a scheduling issue and needed to run another errand and was told as long as I come back before they close, and understand those who walk in and wait to be seen before I return will be prioritized, then I can come back later on, which was perfectly reasonable and worked great for me! When I came back an hr later, I was able to be pierced within 10 min of sitting down. I got my belly button pierced by Angie and she did an awesome job, was very kind, reassuring and quick! I even had the option to TEXT the shop number to personally chat with Angie, show her pics of my piercing and ask aftercare follow up questions. Kallie was so amazing! Camilla Ball: 200/10 would recommend Lucky’s to a friend. Juliet did my ear curation and was so patient with me because I had no idea what I wanted. She was creative and honest about what would be possible with my anatomy and healing considerations. Lars did my piercings and they were INCREDIBLE! I wish I had a kid so they could have the experience of getting pierced for the first time by Lars. If you have any kind of anxiety around piercings, I would highly recommend Lars. They walked me through every single step and made me feel so comfortable if I needed/wanted to stop for any reason. Their voice was so soothing I left feeling like I had just been at the spa!

I’d never been to Lucky’s before but it’s a beautifully designed space, and very clean with good sanitation practices. Bonus points because all of the staff I interacted with were masking!

The people at the front desk gave her some toys to hold while she was nervous waiting and Madison had the perfect studio to create a comfortable environment for any age. The only downside is they’re so good they’re booked far in advance so I couldn’t sneak in my own piercing, but will definitely be booking in the future. I was nervous, but the whole thing was so chill and I was surprised at how quick and easy Joe made it seem. It felt professional, smooth, and sanitary, and it honestly hurt less than when I got my earlobes pierced elsewhere a few years back. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant septum piercing experience.

sarah K: I’ve been to Boston tattoo company multiple times at both Somerville and Medford. Recently I got a tattoo in Somerville and it was genuinely the worst experience I have had with an artist. I went with my partner to get matching tattoos and the end results look drastically different, which is really disappointing because they were supposed to be really special and now they’re just a sad reminder of this horrible experience. To start, the tatto was literally three lines and somehow the two tattoos look different. They tattoos both vary in thickness, mine looking very thick and my partners looking thin. The artist showed up 20 minutes pst our scheduled appointment time and then we waited another 30 for them to set up, which is completely fine and expected. When we finally went to his room for the tattoo he placed the stencil on my partner and said we needed to let it dry and then left us alone for another 15ish minutes while he went to get coffee. My tattoo is completely blown out and the ink spread and also extremely faded somehow? I have multiple tattoos, and every artist I go to says I heal them well, so I know this wasn’t for my lack of applying aquaphor after the tattoo. The tattoo quality itself is horrible. I’ve had some really great tattoos done at BTC (and if I was based off those I would give them a 5 star, but based solely of this appointment and interaction I have to give them a 2/5), but after this I can’t go back because it was truly so uncomfortable and such a let down.Service:Tattoos

The jewelry piece itself was admittedly more than I expected ($260 for 14k rose gold, hammered 3/8" ring). However, I wanted to get something high quality and subtle. It does seem like they have a decent variety of rings, so I'm sure someone can find something in their price range. Kimberly Doyle: I am not into piercings and only have my ear lobes done - so when I went in I stated that I was a little nervous and looking for more information. The process was very transactional - I did not find the staff or piercer that friendly. I was in and out and just felt I was talked down to. I was also disapointed to find out that they did not provide their customers with saline solution for the piercing. Like i mentioned, I am not familiar with piercings but I felt a $40 piercing fee was a little high. Overall, I did find this place clean and efficient just not personal.Service:Piercings

They were both professional, friendly, made great conversation, and most importantly did an amazing job! We love our tattoos.The shop is on the smaller side but it’s clean and comfortable. Ray was extremely flexible with modifying the stencil so it was perfectly what I was looking for.We were there for around three hours including checking in and stencilling and everything. They’re pretty large tattoos (wrap around our thighs) as well.I would definitely recommend walking in!

My mom passed this past Sunday so feelings are very raw and new .We wanted my mom's signature that actually is a flower that she did not a name. We gave him the writing sample and expressed how important that it was to match. He took the time to go over every aspect of what would work best what could happen and what would be the best way to do what we wanted. We all got the same thing in different spots and they all look like she took a pen and drew it herself. I'm so happy with this experience and will definitely be back to see him in the future. My line work is incredibly poor (some double lines where a single line is suppose to be, and different line width) , and it was really disheartening to pay $200 for a very simple line drawing of an eye and a moon. I’m so incredibly grateful I have a tattoo artist back home that can touch this up.

I chose my earings and then the person who was doing the piercing, in my case Owen, Told me to come in. I was nervous but he was very nice and had a good vibe. he was all about consent and made sure I was prepared for anything he did, how much it hurt, what he was about to do etc... Charnae Coles: I just had the worst experience here. I went to the shop inquire about a tattoo and if it was eligible for a walk in appointment. When I arrived the micro aggression that I received was ridiculous. The receptionist barely greeted me and would only talk to me through the cracked door with his arms folded. Every question I asked him was given a swift response of we don’t do the type of tattoos you want here maybe try a “street shop”. He then switched his response to my questions to “it’s up to the artist discretion”. When I asked was it possible to speak to an artist I was told no one had time to speak with me although I saw multiple artist not serving clients at the moment. It’s is very disheartening to receive this type of treatment especially being a black woman living in the suburbs of Boston. If you are a Black person avoid this place.

James was super nice. He looked at my jewelry and gave me a consultation how to place it nicely and comfortably on my ear then I said right away let’s do it. It’s a super friendly and relaxing environment and it’s fun hearing the artists joke with each other during appointments. I love how my tattoos have turned out and they’ve all aged well (the oldest is about a year and half old at this point) despite my disrespectful lack of sunscreen. If you’re looking for American traditional tattoos or clean black and gray designs, go to Arthur!
