Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices: what do users think?
Luisa Martínez: This place is heaven sent! Being pregnant and away from home without enough support can be really challenging! My husband found this place online as I didn’t have health insurance since I was not local. They made me feel supported and heard! The staff is really amazing and helpful! I got a referral to assess my pregnancy and to get health insurance. I was given beautiful and useful baby items for my baby girl. My baby is currently 7 months old and the staff and nurses from the referral place still check on us to make sure we’re doing just fine! I’m very grateful with all the support and help received in more than a year. I truly recommend this place!
The Director: Thank you for what you do. This place is for real and needed. they offer choice.
Sam Becker: Fake clinic, don't fall for it
Ali Sorrels: This is a fake clinic. They do not support women's choices. If you are looking for reproductive healthcare options go somewhere else. They are predatory and are seeking to hurt women.
LaVonne Rhodes: This is a FAKE CLINIC, not a medical facility. They are not required to comply with HIPAA laws so your medical information is not confidential. This is a coercive, antiabortion clinic with a clear agenda to prevent abortion. If you are looking for unbiased medical care please go to Planned Parenthood or a medical doctor.
Salt of the Earth _Light of the World: This is the most incredible team of warriors I have ever met. Despite so many oppositions and misunderstandings trying to shut them down, they remained focused on their mission and stood firm through the trials. Their success story is truly a miracle in which legacy will positively impact the city for generations to come.
Alty Vazquez: As a volunteer in this place for several years I am very pleased to see the kindness, care , and respect the staff here provide for women who comes looking for free pregnancy services as pregnancy test, women that need emotional support during their pregnancy stages due to the lack of support from their partner or because they are on their own. Also educational classes & videos on how to take care of herself during her pregnancy, and of the baby once he/she arrives are part of these amazing services.
Jeanette Davis: I would like to say that the staff at Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices is very professional and caring. Boston Center offers many services for people facing unplanned pregnancies as well an after abortion group which helps people struggling after making the decision to abort. The care is real here, for ALL people.
Lana Choucri: This place is a true safe haven for women who are faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Classes, counseling, referrals, baby items etc are provided at no cost to those who need them. I found some of the other reviews strange that say it’s not a health care facility and not to go. Mental health counseling IS a part of health care. If you need someone to talk your options through with, or need support and resources if you’re deciding to have your baby, the people here will show you kindness and offer support.
Danielle Ha: The people who work at BCPC are very genuine and kind. As a volunteer with them, I’ve seen the way that the staff cares about each individual that walks in and does everything they can to meet each person’s needs. Plus, their services are free to clients! Definitely worth calling them if you’re facing an unplanned pregnancy.
Karry Muzzey: Know that if you are looking for medical advice and unbiased information about choices related to pregnancy, you will not find it here. This center's main motivation is to dissuade pregnant people from seeking abortions.
Jade Eager: DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING OPTIONS FOR YOUR PREGNANCY! I found their indeed ad for an office job with them and they reveal that THEY ARE PUSHING WOMEN TO CHOSE LIFE. They do NOT offer abortion services. They require employees to sign an agreement to also push this and make sure they have the same beliefs before hiring them. check out my screenshots of the ad on indeed. I shared them to here as well, it just won't attach to my comment for whatever reason. Just click images and you should see it.Pregnant ladies, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE! SPREAD THE WORD
Nina Alexandra: If you are in Boston and looking for post-abortion counseling, I urge you to come to this center. I read the reviews prior to coming and was afraid of some of the low ratings. However, I needed to go and now after attending counseling there I feel compelled to let others know that this center is here to help you. It does not judge, it truly is a safe space. I hope someone reads this and knows that you can get support and that you are not alone in this.
Amanda Frost: Called and realized they are anti abortion, regardless of your situation. They do not provide medical care at all! They also are NOT licensed or certified professionals in any sense! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Please go to Planned Parenthood or Health Quarters if you are in the North Shore area if you need actual support!!!!!!!!!!!
Kimberly Bowler: Thank you for the work you do. I brought a friend here a couple of years ago for a pregnancy test and she was treated with the utmost respect, love, and care. I highly recommend this place to anyone who asks.
Jennifer Fries: These are not doctors, and it's not a licensed health care facility. The name is deceptive.
Maggie Fryerwood: These people are not healthcare professionals. This is a crisis pregnancy center, NOT a health clinic. PLEASE, if you are considering your pregnancy options, GO TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD.EDIT: Since you responded, I'd like to ask a question. Where do you get the information that you provide to patients regarding abortion care? Is it medically accurate and evidence based? I'd love to know your sources, please. Otherwise, I am completely not convinced that you are not in fact a crisis pregnancy center.
Golden Tiger: This facility is misleading and does not offer support clients who are pregnant may be looking for including accurate information about abortion services or counseling support for abortions.
Melaney Fodera: So proud of this establishment and blessed they are here in Boston for families willing to consider their choices.
Katielee Brewster: I have had the best experience with everyone who works at BPC. they have helped me and my husband not stress about the little things that you really need when having a baby. The support and joy that has come from all the people who work there is amazing.. anyone who is struggling with how they will make things work with a new baby should definitely give them a call.. going to the classes there have become one of the best times for me and my husband as we prepare for our child.. we both live this place .
Grace Sullivan: False and misleading information was given to me about my reproductive health! These are not professionals.

Boston Hypnobirth: Birth Doulas and Prenatal Massage: what do users think?
Kevin Schwartz: Outstanding! My wife went into premature labor unexpectedly and had to go to the hospital where there was lots of commotion and energy in the labor room. Bonnie arrived like a night in shining armor and completely shifted the energy in the room and my wife's state. She set a calming, supportive environment through lights, music, massage and gentle but confident coaching. My wife had the natural birth she had hoped for and I truly don't think this could have happened without Bonnie's wisdom and calm, guiding presence. She worked wonderfully with the medical staff at the hospital to advocate for my wife's wishes while balancing safety and inputs from the medical team. Several of the nurses remarked on how easy she was to work with as a Doula and how much everyone enjoyed the way everything evolved. 5 stars and really don't know what we would have done without her. Bonnie is GREAT at what she does and I can't recommend her highly enough!
Nicole Nichols: We had a wonderful experience with Bonnie as our doula and are incredibly grateful for her support. From our first call, it was clear that Bonnie was genuinely passionate about her work and shared in our commitment to having a positive birth experience.Despite hiring Bonnie late in pregnancy, she was super helpful in fitting in all of our pre-birth prep classes and worked hard to ensure that we were armed with as much info/education materials as possible. Leading up to birth, Bonnie was always a phone call or text away and assisted us in navigating some of the hospital politics we experienced - she was always a voice of reason and helped us slow things down in order to achieve our goals and keep to what was important to us. During labor, Bonnie was right there with us with her encouraging words, empowering approach and bank of skills to help labor progress - her knowledge of Spinning Babies and relaxation/massage techniques was invaluable and ultimately what we credit with the timely labor progression and positive experience we hoped for. We are so happy to have worked with Bonnie and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
Andrea Carusona: Deciding to work with Bonnie was one of the best decisions we could have made to ensure that I achieved a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Bonnie has loads of experience and helped me feel confident that together we could make it happen. She was available for any questions and support leading up to the birth so I knew that no matter what came up she would calmly know what to do. Once I went into labor Bonnie came over quickly and helped me get through to active labor, then we traveled to the hospital together (I was so relieved to have her help in the car!) and once we arrived at the hospital she helped me and my husband advocate for the birth experience that we wanted. Bonnie knows how to navigate the hospital system very politely but is also insistent on getting the Mother what she needs. I feel so grateful that we were able to work with Bonnie!
Sara Tatnall: I highly recommend Boston Hypnobirth. Bonnie was by my side through the majority of my 42 hour labor, and I don't know how I would have navigated it without her. I wanted a natural, physiological birth but had a number of high risk factors, and Bonnie's experience with hospital advocacy was invaluable. She was committed to helping me achieve the birth I wanted even when things went sideways with my labor. Ultimately I ended up with multiple interventions and having her there to explain made all the difference in understanding and accepting the interventions as necessary - instead of feeling coerced by the hospital staff. She brought peace and confidence to an otherwise difficult birth. I am eternally grateful to her.
Lorenis Liriano: Bonnie was Amazing! She provided not only a relaxing massage that relieved my pain and tension but she gave me advice and insight as a doula. In our session I feel like I learned so much about my body and pregnancy. I plan on returning you can tell she genuinely cares and loves what she does. I highly recommend her! She also has affordable options and has lots of experience.
Justine Portmann Katz: I had a really wonderful experience receiving prenatal massage from Bonnie as I entered the third trimester of my first pregnancy. I had been experiencing some low back and pelvicdiscomfort and walked away from our session feeling at ease and powerful in my body. I am looking forward to taking an in-person Spinning Babies Parent class with her, and continuing to receive prenatal massage care from her for the duration of my pregnancy.Bonnie is a deeply knowledgeable, kind, respectful, warm, and gifted birth worker.
Lillian Dubiel: My wife and I worked with Bonnie in several of her capacities- initially, I approached her for prenatal massage, but we ended up hiring her as our intrapartum doula, she led our Spinning Babies parent course, and provided individualized labor and birth education. Bonnie is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and very familiar with Boston’s many hospitals. Her Spinning Babies expertise and doula experience definitely helped me to successfully achieve my desired physiologic birth outcome. In fact, our labor and birth happened so quickly that Bonnie barely made it to the delivery! Without a doubt, the pre-labor education Bonnie provided us prepared my wife and I for labor and birth- she taught us the tools and mindset we needed to get us successfully through our short but very intense labor. She also squeezed me in for a much-needed postnatal massage a week after delivery. She is readily available by text/phone at all times and was attentive and responsive to our individual needs. Bonnie is also very well-connected in the doula, prenatal, and birth world here in Boston, and was able to make us several great recommendations for other service providers. She is queer-friendly and well-versed in queer family-making and made us feel very comfortable. We highly recommend her!
Jessica Stout: I met Bonnie at week 32 of my pregnancy when I discovered that my baby had turned breech. After what had been a completely uneventful pregnancy up to this point I found myself spinning into fear based thinking and seeking wisdom and guidance from the birth community. When I reflect on this time I cannot be anything but grateful that this moment of fear lead me to the amazing, wonderful, empowering Bonnie Rovics.I knew after our first meeting that not only did I want Bonnie to support me in caring for my body in pregnancy and my baby through massage and spinning babies strategies intended to encourage the baby back to an head-down position but I wanted more than anything for her to support me, my partner and our baby in our birth experience. Bonnie consistently took the time in our meetings leading up to my birth to ask questions, understand me and my preferences and learn how she could support me in meeting our goals for birth. When the time came for us to go to the hospital Bonnie was always one text, or call away. She beautifully navigated giving my partner and I space to be together when the time was right and showing up in person to support us when we needed her in person support. Bonnie helped us to advocate for ourselves and our birth preferences in a hospital system that is based around schedules and interventions and ultimately supported our entire family in having a birth that looked nothing like our original “perfect birth” but was ultimately entirely perfect on it’s own.I can’t recommend Bonnie enough to anyone on the journey of birth. She is an extraordinary massage therapist, supporter of women’s rights and advocacy and grounded and talented doula.
Danielle Sommer: I have given birth with Bonnie 3 times. In each case, she has been an an amazing supporting resource and positive champion for my well being. Throughout my pregnancy her prenatal massage was a welcome respite from the aches and pains that can accompany your growing body. It was also so helpful in preparation for the physical act of natural labor. Her presence at the actual birth is encouraging and welcoming support and she also is able to provide pain natural pain relief and physical help throughout the birthing process. And once your baby is here, she continues her loving help and support in so many ways a new mom needs. If I was doing it again, I'd have her there.
Brittany Eisenbarth: Bonnie was the absolute best doula I could have asked for during the birth of my second child. She is a genuine person who is passionate about what she does, and sincerely cares about helping you achieve your best possible birth experience. She put so much time and effort into educating and getting to know me and my husband while I was pregnant, and when I went into labor, she was a true advocate for me in the labor & delivery room. She is well-versed in hypnobirthing and spinning babies techniques, and bonus, she is a massage therapist and gives the best prenatal massages! Bonnie is now a friend for life, and if I end up going for baby #3, Bonnie will 100% be my go-to.
Hayon Shin: Bonnie was an excellent doula for us. Even though we hired her pretty last minute she very quickly orientated us and helped us prepare for our birth. During the labor she and my husband tag teamed to help me and throughout the entire 14 hour labor she was so on top of it. I don't know what I would've done without her to help manage the pain. She was awesome and we're so grateful to her!
Natalia Sesma: I went for a Prenatal massage with Bonnie, she was very patient to explain how my body was getting ready for delivery and showed me some acupressure points to use to help with pain during surges and other start labor. I left the session relaxed, confident and hopeful to receive my baby. Now that my baby is home with me I look forward to contact her again regarding lactation
Blake Sims: I loved my online class with Boston Hypnobirthing! Bonnie was extremely flexible, knowledgable, and a huge support as my partner and I prepared for the birth of our baby. The materials, visualizations, breathing exercises, and general education about both our options and how to do our best to ensure a birth that fit our preferences was invaluable. We delivered a healthy, joyful baby and both my partner and I felt calm and secure throughout the delivery process. I highly recommend working with Bonnie and Hypnobirthing Boston!
Monika Burns: We recently worked with Bonnie as a doula and were very happy with our experience! We took a Hypnobirthing class initially and loved the approach to childbirth, so it was important to us to have a doula who was experienced in/focused on Hypnobirthing techniques. Bonnie has a great deal of experience in hypnosis techniques and many other key elements of natural childbirth. We had a great initial meeting and intake session with Bonnie over Zoom and were also able to have a wonderful prenatal massage/rebozo scarf technique session in her outdoor studio area. When I went into labor, Bonnie came right in to meet us at the hospital. She did a great job of supporting both my husband and I during labor - we really appreciated her suggestions, pain relief techniques, massage, and overall support during the labor. We had a very positive birth experience and Bonnie was an instrumental part of that! We are so happy that we got to work with her during our son’s birth and definitely recommend her as a birth doula.
Vinsu N. Shah: Bonnie worked wonders with my post partum massage. I was in a lot of pain post baby, Bonnie took the time to understand my birth experience and really targeted the massage to address all of my concerns. I was also very reluctant to have such close contact while in quarantine but Bonnies setup put me at ease. I highly recommend her for post partum moms!
Kat P: Bonnie’s healing hands truly are a GIFT! I am so grateful to have found Bonnie during my second trimester. I didn’t realize how badly my body needed a little TLC until after my massage- I left feeling like a new woman! Bonnie has done a great job creating outdoor space for added comfort during this Covid period. Her great energy and personality an added plus too. Starting up with Bonnies Hypnobirthing classes next and can’t wait to dive in. Already looking forward to my next massage! Do yourself a favor and book one too!
Naomi Howard: I first visited Bonnie for a massage at the beginning of my second trimester earlier this year. Her space was cozy and comfortable and her massage was exactly what my body needed. After a rough first trimester, I was dying for a gentle but strong massage and it really hit the spot! I unfortunately couldn’t see her again until late in my third trimester due to covid-19 but left that session so much more relaxed. The constant headache basically went away and a lot of built up tension was released throughout my body after just one visit. After seeing her that day, my husband and I decided to hire Bonnie as our birth doula and we were so happy to have had the opportunity to have her by our side for the birth of our second son. Her presence was so calming and there is absolutely no way I would have made it through without her. She knew exactly when and where to massage and apply counter pressure, and provided constant reminders to breathe and relax into contractions. Throughout labor, she suggested different techniques and positions to help me cope with the pain and pressure. Thanks to Bonnie, I was able to stick to my goal of avoiding any form of medical intervention and best of all, my husband was able to remain calm and confident and provide me with the support I needed from him. If I can convince my husband to have a third, first thing I’ll do is call up Bonnie!
Meghan A: First off, Bonnie is amazing. Her patience and ability to explain things was second to none, which is exactly what we needed after long work days. She kept the classes interesting and really seems to love what she does and genuinely cared about us and our success. Her class was more than just a collection of techniques that could be read in a book. From her we gained a very strong sense of confidence that we could have a positive birth experience and learned so much that we were excited to share with other expecting parents. It is amazing how little we really knew about childbirth, outside of what we have seen on TV and heard (in bed, on your back, medicated, yet screaming in pain) … and this wasn’t even our first birth! My husband and I felt fully prepared and actually excited to go through the birthing process this time around and to use the techniques we learned while taking hypnobirthing classes with Bonnie. Yes … my husband too. He learned so much and really was my greatest support during the entire labor/birth experience. I referred to him as my Moula (man doula). During my labor with our first, he felt helpless and unable to meaningfully support me, however after these classes, he did an awesome job supporting me through the birth of our second, both physically and emotionally. He felt a big sense of purpose during the labor which he credits our training with Bonnie.During my short 6-hour labor, I felt completely in control of my body and my breathing, and succeeded with my goal of having a completely natural delivery. In addition, unlike my first birth which was medicated, traumatizing, and resulted in a very long recovery process, this birth was empowering, and in-line with my birth plan. I leveraged many of the coping strategies, benefited from the relaxed state the hypnosis scripts provided my body, and best yet, my recovery has been extremely easy.Bonnie, sincerely and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! We are so grateful for everything we learned with you, the kindness and care you treated us with, and the confidence you instilled in us. Everything went so well and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.
Moira Griffiths: Bonnie is fantastic and full of knowledge. I have been suffering from gestational carpal tunnel in both hands and the massage helped to relieve some of the discomfort. She also recommended sleeping on a wedge pillow to alleviate pressure off my arms from sleeping on my sides. That has been a game changer. I am actually able to sleep again! I highly recommend a prenatal massage with Bonnie!
Dan Lee: Bonnie is awesome! My muscles are unusually tight and tense due to chronic pain and autoimmune condition. I need strong pressures where the muscles are tight and need very sensitive touches in the area where it’s inflamed due to my condition because it’s super painful. It’s been difficult to find someone who would know how to treat my condition well. So I’ve hopped around a lot until I’ve found Bonnie! Only regret is I didn’t find her sooner.
Lara Saavedra: Excellent experience, Bonnie fit me in short notice when I had some intense neck pain, and it noticeably improved the following days. Thank you so much.

Boston Doula Services: what do users think?
E Renshaw: There aren’t enough stars to give to Gill and Boston Doula Services! Gill is the warmest, kindest, most knowledgeable and skilled doula we have had the pleasure of meeting. She started with our family right after we brought our little guy home (3+ weeks early - Gill accommodated our schedule even though we hadn’t planned to start with her for several weeks!). She provided the perfect balance of providing helpful advice and guidance while allowing us space to get into our own groove and figure out what worked best for our family.Gill was our night nanny for more than four months and did some day visits too. It gave us such peace of mind to know she was there and caring for our son. She took such good care of our little guy and did a million other little things to help us out around the nursery and home. And we were able to get the sleep that we so desperately needed! Our son absolutely adores Gill and we wish we could work with her forever (and will try and make that happen!).
Anum Ahmed: Gill is more than just a doula. She will be your friend, therapist, mother, caretaker, cheerleader, and so much more. She is the best gift a family could have, especially during postpartum. We don't have any family in the area, so my postpartum journey lacked family support for the most part. Gill filled that hole and so much more. She is not judgemental whatsoever, and you can talk to her about absolutely anything that is on your mind. If there's a problem, Gill is there to solve it! There are some people in this world that just genuinely care about the wellbeing of others, and Gill is one of those people. She helped me resolve some of my pumping issues (was having pain, turns out I just needed to change my flange size), would sit and talk with me when I was in the depths of postpartum depression and just needed someone to talk to, would reassure me that I was doing things right, would offer to care for the baby so I could get in a nap (sleep deprivation is not fun!), and would even offer to come during the evening just so my husband and I could get in a date night alone. She would also cook and meal prep for us weekly, which was a huge game changer for us, because no one wants to worry about cooking/ordering food during postpartum. It was very difficult for me to trust anyone to be with my baby, but Gill was someone I trusted very quickly. If I could tell every expecting mother in the Boston area one thing, it would be to hire Gill as your postpartum doula! She will be a gift to your family that you will cherish forever.
Annalisa Salter: I had the pleasure of working with Gill for the birth of my first baby boy and I would highly recommend her to any expectant moms out there! She was such a great resource and had the calm, nonjudgmental and positive energy that I was hoping to find in a doula. I was at ease as soon as I met Gill at our initial (virtual) meet and greet and was very pleased with the knowledge she brought and explanations of all of our options as we discussed what we were looking for in a doula. She was always so quick to respond with any of our concerns via text or email. Highly recommend Gill.
Courtney Camps: There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Gill is and how much she helped us in the first 7 weeks of our son’s life. Gill was our calming force through breastfeeding challenges, navigating new parenthood and even a house move with a 3 week old— Gill rolls with the punches, all while being an amazing resource and expert in baby care. We are confident our son is a better sleeper, eater and happier baby due to the guidance we received from Gill. We looked forward to every night Gill spent with us. My only hesitancy in writing this glowing review is that she will become so popular she will be fully booked for our next child!! We are so glad we invested in a postpartum doula and even happier to have Gill part of our lives now.
Genevieve Wallden: Gill was a wonderful Postpartum Doula and I would recommend her to any family looking for support after having a baby. We connected with Gill in the 3rd trimester of our pregnancy, and even before having the baby, she was always checking in and seeing how she could help and support us. Gill is incredibly easy to talk to and get along with, and most importantly, she's very supportive of whatever choices are best for your family when it comes to your baby. It was great to talk with Gill through things like breastfeeding/pumping/newborn care/etc. and also to have her come and support us at home after the birth by cleaning/doing laundry/caring for the baby while my husband and I rested. We trusted Gill immediately with our newborn daughter as Gill has a wonderful background that makes her a perfect PP Doula and really knows how to care for newborns (and new parents). We loved working with Gill and cannot say enough good things about her as a person or PP Doula- if you're looking for someone in the Boston area, look no further!
June Zheng: Gill was an absolute lifesaver for our family. She was with us for the first 8 weeks post-partum, starting with mostly night shifts and then transitioning to day shifts. This was our first child and I knew immediately after speaking with Gill that she would be the perfect fit for us. She is extremely knowledgeable about everything from birth preferences and pre-labor advice to postpartum recovery and lactation advice. She would never be prescriptive or overbearing with her advice. She was always just there for support and was easy to talk to and ask questions. She helped us tremendously in the first few weeks when I unexpectedly was immobile due to postpartum complications. She brought the baby to me for feedings and helped me in & out of bed. She allowed my husband to get a full nights sleep on the nights she was with us and gave me additional a few more hours of sleep. And she was lovely to chat with while I was feeding the baby and keeping me company. When the baby was sleeping, she happily jumped into tidying the house, doing our household laundry, and any dishes or bottles. She was loving and nurturing to our daughter and handled her with ease and expertise. And she was full of useful tips from breastfeeding positions, rash/skin irritation treatments, soothing methods, pumping advice, you name it! She even cooked for us or made recipes we had including lactation cookies.Lastly, she was amazing for my mental health. Especially when I was physically still recovering and was struggling with my milk slowing coming in and our baby not gaining back birth weight fast enough. She was there to cheer me on, provide encouragement and offer support and reassurance. So needed as a new mom! She was always there to assuage my fears and concerns. She helped me and my husband feel relaxed and confident as new parents. Our baby is happier and healthier because of that time she spent with us.
Jane Gladstone: If you are looking for postpartum help, look no further than Gill. We could not have survived our first month as parents without her. Hearing her walk through our door was an enormous relief every day. As first time parents, Gill provided so much valuable information. She taught us how to give our baby a bath, nudge him to distinguish day and night, get on a solid eating plan, and so much more. We were initially worried our son was not regaining his birth weight, and Gill immediately got him on the right track meeting all of his milestones. We trust her completely - her background as a midwife and nurse means she’s extremely knowledgeable about postpartum issues and newborns. She helped us identify issues to speak with our pediatrician about and gave us peace of mind that all the weird things newborns do were normal.Above all, Gill was our emotional support person in the early days. Every day she’d be eager to hear how the baby was doing. She’s funny and easy to talk to, and we had fun chatting whenever she arrived. She texted to check in after pediatrician visits. When I had postpartum questions about my own physical recovery as a mom, Gill went into nurse mode and I felt immediately taken care of. She baked us bread and brought homemade soup multiple times. By the end of our time with Gill, she felt like a trusted dear friend or family member. I joke that I’ll reach out when I am pregnant again to book her immediately, but I’m only half joking! She is a true gem and we were extremely lucky to find her.
Cristina Harris: I don’t even know where to begin to describe how amazing Gill, the owner of Boston Doula is. My husband and I were in search of a postpartum doula to help during the postpartum period of our first son. From the moment I spoke to Gill via zoom, I knew she was the one. Gill is empathetic, SO KNOWLEDGEABLE, kind and most of all very positive. Between learning how to breastfeed or, in my case, exclusively pump, learning how to take care of a newborn, organize the house and/or getting some much needed rest, Gill was there to help and support me through each step of the way. I knew if I had a question or concern, Gill would be the person I would turn to for an answer or to just reassure me all was well. She came with me to various lactation appointments. She ensured I was always hydrated, getting sleep and nourishing myself. Gill ALWAYS went above and beyond. You would never find her just sitting around. She always found something to help out with from light food prep, laundry and even walking our two dogs. Gil was a key emotional pillar as I navigated through my first couple months as a mother. She was there to talk when I needed. Simply, Gill is a gem, and I wish all new mothers could be as lucky as I was to experience her care.
Susan Lipsett: If you are reading this review to try to decide whether to hire Gill, look no further and book her immediately. I’d consider having another baby just so I could hang out with her again (joking…kind of).I hired Gill for some help with my newborn, whom I’m raising as a single mom. She came highly recommended and I booked her early in my second trimester. I’m glad I did because she books up fast.During the nighttime shifts, Gill arrived at 10pm. I would finish feeding the baby and get up to my bedroom to find she had turned down my sheets. When the baby woke to feed she’d bring him to me, talk with me while I fed him (which also ensured I didn’t fall asleep), change his diaper in between sides to wake him up, and then take him away and cuddle him so I could go right back to sleep. When he was sleeping she did all kinds of helpful things- laundry, dishes, even cutting up fruit I had bought so that I could actually eat it instead of inevitably ignoring it for a week and throwing it in the compost. She brought homemade soup and bread. Homemade toast and butter during a 3am feed is heavenly.During her daytime visits, Gill helped me get familiar with pumping and bottle feeding, held the baby so I could get some stuff done around the house, and helped me get some much needed naps in. One afternoon she took my baby on a two hour walk and I took the most glorious nap while he got some sunlight and fresh air. Another time she came in the morning so I could sleep in and then she made me poached eggs for breakfast! The advice Gill dispensed was invaluable, from endless guidance on breastfeeding to tips on how to “nudge” the baby towards a better sense of night and day. She is warm, kind, funny, and so loving. She gave me confidence during a time when everything was so new and disorienting. My baby blues were intense and Gill was my lifeline during that time. I literally cried after her last overnight because she had become such an important part of my journey as a new mom.Gill is simply the best. She will love and nurture your baby and you, and help your family adjust to this crazy newborn time. Worth every penny!
Judith P: Gill was a huge help during our first 2 months as new parents. She is very knowledgeable and shared best practices in newborn care, bottle/breast feeding and pumping with us in a very thoughtful, supportive and encouraging way. Moreover, she also helped with housework and cooking without us needing to tell her what to do.I had a complicated pregnancy, birth and recovery and Gill offered support and positivity during that time. Gill also made sure to be there for us to watch the baby while I went to postpartum doctor's appointments and juggled all the different needs of her families beautifully. We recommend her highly to new parents and are super grateful for her help!
Melanie Berry-Greer: Gill was such a wonderful doula and the support was exactly what we needed postpartum! Being a first time mom and having no family close by, my husband and I were so grateful to have someone with the experience Gill has and just the support and extra hands! Gill was able to help us with light house cleaning and laundry in addition to being able to provide us a worry free time to relax, nap or take care of anything needed while she watched our newborn. She also was able to give guidance on our breastfeeding/feeding journey and tips for feeding, bottle use, storage, etc. Besides all this amazing help she also gave us someone to talk to as she was so easy to talk to and connect on other things besides newborn care! In terms on Covid precautions, Gill made us feel very safe by ensuring she always had her mask on and changed into slippers when arriving and washing her hands upon arrival and often before handling our newborn. We are overall so grateful for the help Gill provided us and we will miss her immensely!
Daisy Good: Gill was so wonderful to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and helped us gain the confidence we needed to ultimately become independent first-time parents. She has expertise in feeding, sleep training, and general all around infant care. I had a complicated post-partum course and when we were in a difficult situation, Gill came to our rescue. I am honestly not sure how we would have managed without her. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her.
Jessica Qu: We feel so lucky to have found Gill. She cared for my daughter right after her birth a few nights a week and we have found her help invaluable. Gill provided great and timely baby care and breastfeeding advice and enabled both my husband and me to get more sleep. A few points set Gill apart from some of the other doulas/baby nurses I talked to:- Highly experienced and caring: Gill had raised three sons and was a midwife back in the UK. In addition to being a doula, she is a certified lactation consultant and teaches labor and baby care classes at a local hospital. She is very patient and caring with my daughter and taught both my husband and me many things about diapering, breastfeeding, and getting baby to sleep.- Flexible: Gill was very adaptable to our needs and enabled us to easily ramp up or down the number of nights we needed her help. There was no pressure to lock in a set number of nights before we knew what we needed.- Proactive communication: Gill proactively checked in on my pregnancy during the third trimester and postpartum would check in on breastfeeding progress or how my baby's doing. It was very nice to have a trusted source to ask any baby related questions at anytime. She also instilled positivity and offered a lot of encouragement when things were difficult or confusing. All that is to say we had a very positive experience with Gill and would highly recommend her!
Tina Chen-Xu: I am a first time mom and Gill worked with me as a postpartum doula until my baby was 10 weeks old. Gill has been an amazing support and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. Gill not only provided support with the baby during her visits but provided guidance on learning to breastfeed, pump and bottle feed, postpartum recovery and helping around the house. She listened to my goals and helped me to build confidence as my husband and I learned how to care for our little one. Even before I gave birth she talked with me about my birth plan and helped me to feel confident about my decisions, while keeping me to keep an open mind. I looked forward to visits from Gill every week and feel so grateful to have found her!
Lauren Gleason: I found Gill Emery and Boston Doula Services through DONA International as I was intrigued by the certifications of this practice that was still so new to me. I reached out in late October, wondering if I was too late to fit into her schedule. Gill and I set up a call and from the first minute we connected on the phone, I knew Gill would be an impactful and essential part of my family’s life.My daughter was born after 24 hours of labor and an unplanned C-Section. After arriving home 3 days later, Gill was there shortly after to start helping my husband and I get used to our new life, help us with our daughter, and connecting with me to make sure I was taking care of myself both physically and mentally. As a major “Type A” person, I couldn’t imagine sitting on the couch recovering for 6 weeks when I had a new daughter crying every hour for more milk. But Gill made me see that if I wasn’t taking care of myself first and foremost, I couldn’t take care of the rest of my family. Gill was right there to help me through every latch, to help me build a strong bond with breastfeeding my daughter, played with our black lab like she had known her forever, and slowly but surely, helped me to get back on my feet and regain my confidence in assuming my new role as a mother. We also secretly looked forward to the days Gill would arrive with a delicious frittata or her amazing Tuscan Bean Soup with freshly baked bread. My husband and I are so grateful for Gill being a part of our lives and family those first 10 weeks. She has the most amazing outlook on life and her guidance and advice on navigating the world of a newborn was invaluable. I loved the company as motherhood can feel so lonely at times. We share a love of international travel, admiring different airlines and daydreaming of far-off places in Europe to return to after the pandemic. We talked about cooking and our dogs and gardening – and made me feel excited to start experiencing all of my hobbies again with my daughter as she grows. I can’t thank Gill enough for her kindness, friendship, compassion, and generosity that she shared with me. Gill will always be part of our family and our daughter’s life. I would recommend Gill to anyone seeking to ensure their mental, physical, and spiritual health is intact as you welcome a newborn into the world. A women cannot meet the needs of her family and loved ones if she is not meeting her own needs first and Gill really helped me to prioritize this perspective as a woman and new mother.
Julia Kohn: Gil was an absolutely incredible support and we could not have asked for a better postpartum doula! She is warm, kind, considerate and so knowledgeable! She helped us more than I can put into words, and we are forever grateful! We recommend her 1,000 times over!
Eileen Siegel: Gil was an amazing support from my third trimester through my first 8 weeks as a mother. As a first time mother, I was unsure how I would experience labor and how much support I would need while my body healed and bringing my newborn home. Gil is extremely knowledgeable and delivers her expertise in such a way that it is easy to digest. She is professional, personal, and thoughtful. One of my biggest challenges was breast feeding. Gil was available to me while I was still in the hospital, offering encouragement and positivity while answering my questions and ultimately putting me more at ease. With her support and feedback, I was able to greatly increase my milk supply. Gil has such a kind and loving way about her that I was able to hand her my newborn with confidence. I learned how to better care for my daughter through my observations and interactions with Gil. When answering my questions, she shared multiple potential solutions. In terms of reliability and flexibility, Gil was amazing. She was always on-time and was receptive and forward thinking about my scheduling needs. The confidence I have now as a mother, I attribute to Gil. She is absolutely amazing and I encourage parents, both new and experienced, to work with her. I can't recommend her highly enough!
Indu Reddy: Gill is an amazing doula and person! Due to COVID we weren't able to have any family help after our son was born in November and as first-time parents we were worried about what to do. She wasn't scheduled to come until a few days after we brought our son home but when we got home we realized we needed help fast! With a simple text she was there the next morning! She was so great with our son and there is no one I trust more. On top of that she helped us with laundry, dishes and tidying up around the house, which was so tremendously helpful and important in that postpartum period. She was always flexible with our schedule and a great source of information. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a postpartum doula without a doubt!

Boston Birth Associates: what do users think?
Emily Chirco: Boston Birth Associates was a life saver. As first time parents, my husband and I had lots of questions and google wasn’t always the most helpful with anxiety that comes along with taking care of a newborn. Nicolette, Mari, and the whole team took care of our family. We are forever grateful for them. We would highly recommend their services!
Stacey Ross: I have used BBA twice now for the birth of each of my children. They are absolute professionals and I would recommend them to anyone. I have worked with five different doulas across the group and all come highly recommended. When you sign up to have a doula at your birth, you have access to them through chat 24/7 and they are here to answer any questions and support your labor. They will be at the birth with you and stay to support you until you’re settled. After birth you still have access to the chat as well as two home visits. Cannot recommend them enough!
Bailey Carroll: BBA has supported my family for both of our daughters’ births and postpartum periods. We initially explored many other night nannies and agencies, but BBA was the one we instantly felt most comfortable with. And we are certainly glad we chose their team - Mari, Nicolette, and Rosemarie have taught us so much over the years — from helping me mentally and physically prepare for my unmedicated births, to understanding the nuances of infant sleep and feeding, to guiding us through those early weeks when we had a million questions every day. We feel so lucky to have crossed paths with BBA - they helped us get the rest and reassurance we needed to ENJOY our newborns the first few months of their lives. I highly recommend choosing BBA!
Sarah Petty: We used Boston Birth Associates for our hypnobirthing class as well as our breastfeeding class prior to our babies arrival. Since she has been born, we have attended their weekly new mom support group, lactation consultant, and we have utilized their pediatric sleep specialist, Nicolette to tackle some sleep challenges we were having.I can’t say enough wonderful things about BBA. Their doula are warm, approachable, and non judgmental. They helped us reached the specific goals we wanted to as a family. Having them by our side through this entire process has been amazing. I truly cannot recommend them enough.
Hollie P: BBA has been incredible in supporting our family in welcoming our baby! I took prenatal yoga with them, and we used all of their services afterwards-- postpartum doulas, lactation consults, and new moms group. They have been amazing with their kindness, compassion and knowledge. I even referred them to another family who was interviewing doulas and they chose BBA as well. I can't recommend them enough!
Rachel Wood: I cannot say enough good things about BBA! We first found them when I was pregnant and we took their infant care, breastfeeding and labor and delivery courses. We then hired them as our L&D doulas. We felt SO prepared even when my water broke 4 weeks early! We were able to have constant communication with them, phone assistance and when we were ready they arrived at the hospital. All three of our doulas advocated for us while pitocin was constantly pushed on me. They were able to support my birth preference and mediated the situation between me and hospital staff.Postpartum we did lactation consulting with Reanna and she was AMAZING! I have had the most joyful and easiest breastfeeding experience. She helped insure my daughter had a proper latch and helped me regulate my supply (which I would not have been able to do on my own)!6months later our daughter was showing signs of some sleep issues and we spent 3 weeks working with Nicolette 1 on 1. We implemented her plan and trusted the process. On the last day of our 1 on 1 support our daughter slept through the night!! We are so grateful to everyone at BBA for their knowledge, advice and support. As new parents we feel so empowered by what we’ve learned from these women. I cannot recommend them enough!! The best decision we’ve ever made! Xo!
Rachel Walerius: I used Boston Birth Associates for overnight care and I could not be any happier. I was incredibly anxious about selecting a company to be with my baby girl overnight and from the very start Mari put me at ease. She came for a home visit so we could get to know her and speak in person about their services. She answered all my many questions and worked with me when I wanted to customize a package. While we were using the service it was easy to schedule and communicate and we had access to a lactation expert who was very responsive and helpful. For us though, what really made our experience was Amanda our postpartum doula. I couldn't possibly put into words what an impact she had on our postpartum experience. Besides the obvious benefit of a good nights sleep she was so attentive to our girl and gave us tons of tips based on her observations. She would spend as much time as we needed talking through any concerns even in-between our visits. She even gave us advice about our toddler several times! I will honestly miss seeing her and felt like even after only two months she was part of our family.
Janelle Eloi: I sent numerous emails to Boston Birth Associates inquiring about their services. I got one email back saying that they were available during my delivery timeframe. They asked me for available dates to set up a consultation and I never heard back from them. I gave up after my fifth email (in a 3 week span) because I wouldn’t want to work with a service/company that is so poorly responsive, especially considering I’m asking for assistance regarding my pregnancy/birth.
Dmitry Marchenko: Hired BBA for support and hypnobirthing training late 2019. Hypnobirthing training went great in small group environment and we thought we were well on the way to a beautiful birthing experience guided by passionate and devoted professionals. Unfortunately our timing coincided with beginning of COVID pandemic, so in addition to that stress BBA tried to reneg on their promise of support and left us to deal with issues alone, when approached about failure to perform, came up with excuses centered around their personal concerns, ours were not considered at all. Had to initiate chargeback with cc company to get our payment back. Caveat emptor buyer( beware) may not get the service you expect.
OAKs: Mari was simply amazing!! My virtual birth class with her exceeded my husband and I's expectation. She will forever be a great resource for me. I highly recommend her!
Kerry Bills: My husband and I worked with Boston Birth Associates during my pregnancy with my daughter. This was our first pregnancy and we were interested in the support of a doula. As soon as we met the team at Boston Birth Associates for a consult we knew it was right fit for us. We received support during my pregnancy and had a doula present during labor and delivery. Since the birth of my daughter I have attended the mom's group as well which has been very helpful. We would absolutely recommend Boston Birth Associates to anyone looking to hire a doula.
Ralph Sully: Words cannot express how incredible Boston Birth Associates have been through my entire pregnancy as well as post partum. Mari and Kaleigh were absolutely amazing and so supportive, thoughtful, communicative and compassionate in working with me and my husband. Since our initial consult BBA were so professional and you can feel truly they care about you and will support you step by step. For anyone looking for a doula or thinking about one look no further than Mari and her fantastic team they will not disappoint. A+++ !!!! - Kathleen Sully, Stoneham
Monica Moulton: My husband and I went to BBA for a childcare class where we met Kit, she was so easy to talk to and we learned a lot from our class. We ended up hiring BBA for their birth doula services and it was the best decision!Kit and Darla were assigned as our doulas- they rotate schedules so that one is always available, and boy there are available! We hired them at the very last stage of my pregnancy, they met us at our house right away and spent 2+ hours talking to us about what to expect with them and started sharing their knowledge right away.Kit and Darla emphasized how it was okay to contact them at ANY time, they started a text group with me AND my husband, and that was great. We were able to talk to them on the phone or via text- it was always so easy and informative!Kit was on-call when I went into labor, she coached me through it all and made me feel at ease- my mom even said that I didn't look one bit nervous when my water broke, instead, I was simply excited. And that's exactly what I wanted! My OB, the classes we took, Kit, and Darla shared so much knowledge with us that my expectations were set properly, and so I was able to enjoy my labor! (minus the pain, obviously, lol). Anyway, I digress...!My husband and I are so happy to have found BBA, they are worth every penny and more! Also, BBA has a mommies support group on Wednesday. I am sad I couldn't go more often and that I can't go anymore because I work, but I highly recommend it!
Elizabeth Rose: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mari. She is the most compassionate, caring and empathetic woman! I first met Mari while she was volunteering her time and office space for an infertility support group. Yesterday, I had a Reiki session with her and it was out-of-this-world amazing! She is beyond talented and will take care of you - no matter your stage of fertilty: from trying to conceive to postpartum care. Thank you, Mari!!!! :)
Jess Toochin: Gayle and Mari are beyond anything you could ask for as Doulas and as friends. My wife delivered both of our children with their assistance and it couldn't have made us more comfortable. They came to our house 2-3 times before the due date to coach and advise, they were there with us during delivery and came to the house post-delivery to make sure we were trending correctly. More importantly than how I feel, my wife LOVES them and wouldn't deliver a child without them by her side.
Jezabel Racer: I can't speak to the groups and programs but their service for breast pumps is horrible. Once I ordered the pump they didn't give me any instructions like they said they would then, when I had issues setting it up, they sent me to the manufacturer immediately instead of helping with a simple question. The manufacturer was great and had it resolved in under a minute. It was clear the woman I spoke to at acelleron wanted to pass it off.
K T: Very helpful and friendly customer service. Also promptly was informed of my options.
Katie Strey Murphy: This is an amazing place for mothers of all walks of life and all abilities. I joined Acelleron when I was 4 months pregnant and tried all of their classes. The instructors and staff are well trained and very knowledgeable on creating workouts for all ability levels. The community and support is amazing. As a first time Mom to be, I learned so much about pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood that books and hospital classes couldn't prepare me for. They truly meet you where you are at and help you become a better you!
Jenny Lane: Acelleron was a lifesaver for me as a new mama. I didn't know anyone in the area who was a new mother and fell into this group because a friend told me to join the new moms group when my son was born. She gently suggested I come a few times and I went to my first group meeting when he was 3 weeks old.To have a group of women who are able to connect about motherhood, babysitting while you workout (hello, being able to reconnect to your mind/body!!) and lactation support and more.... is an indescribable experience. Blessed to have found them doesn't even cut it.Thanks Acelleron! Zyan and I love you lots.
Quentara Costa, CFP: I used Acelleron for doula support. Mari was amazing and expertly helped me through the birthing process. I have no family in the area, so having Acelleron as a support network was invaluable. If there is a #2 I will definitely be calling them again, and hope to become more involved in all their other post-birth offerings.
Prachi Bhoskar: I used their services for ordering breastpump. Exceptional and quick service in getting information about all types of pumps with insurance coverage for each. Once I placed my order it was delivered to me just next day. I had amazing experience. I highly recommend their services.

New Family Needs - Boston Doula, Educator, Breastfeeding Specialist: what do users think?
Amanda Broderick: Hilary is a fantastic postpartum doula. She is a natural with both parents and babies and provided my wife and I with much-needed support during the early days with our daughter. She is responsible, caring, responsive, and an expert at what she does. Highly recommend!
Katherine Wallace: Hilary just makes you feel better. So reassuring as a new parent who didn’t know what she was doing. I joined her new parent support group and so glad that I did. She’s very knowledgeable and passionate about supporting new parents. Hiring her and/or participating in her groups and/or community activities will be one of the best investments you can make for yourself in getting through the difficult infant months.
Christina Cox: I can’t say enough great things about Hilary! We participated in her newborn care class and the new parent group. The new parent group was so helpful and supportive during the newborn phase. There were many late night texts and advice passed around. I still attend events hosted by Hilary and am continually impressed. Being a new parent can be lonely and I am grateful I was able to connect with other new parents through this business. Hilary herself is very knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, and responsive. Right after birth I had a question while I was in the hospital, and even though I hadn’t hired her for doula services she responded and was happy to help. I would highly recommend being a part of the New Family Needs circle for the support and Hilary’s expertise!
Vasundhara Sharma: I joined Hilary's new parent group that she runs for new moms and it was truly the best decision I took for my postpartum self! It was a valuable experience meeting other women in the same life stage and also gaining access to Hilary's wisdom on childcare and postpartum care! Hilary's conducted these groups so well and helped us with so many big and small issues. All in all highly recommend to all new moms!
Michelle D: I love Hilary! I'm a first time parent and had very litttle knowledge about caring for an infant or myself during the first few month postpartum. Hilary was accessible by text and helped me with practical questions (Do infants wear pajamas?) and came to my house for hands-on support. She just knows what to do and joining her parent group was the BEST! I love the people I met and learned so much from her and everyone else. And she loves dogs - even my older cranky dog warmed up to her. Five stars.
Jingnan Lu: Work with Hilary and you won't regret it!  Hilary helped me after I had my first child. I thought I was prepared, having read lots of books, blog posts, app articles and taken plenty of classes. Oh was I wrong! I was so lost as a new mother. None of reading translate to actually raising a tiny human being, while healing from birth. I was so lucky and fortunate to have Hilary. She listened to me and anticipated my needs. She stepped in without me asking directly what I wanted her to do. From the moment she enters my door, she took care of my little one, soothed him and ensured all his needs were met, while also caring for my wellbeings and providing me with supports that I am not getting anywhere else.  She would ask whether if I had slept or would like to take a nap or shower while she rocked my son to sleep.  She would put my needs as a priority, knowing I also needed the time and care to get better.  She was amazing with my son.  He never cried with Hilary and would happily do tummy time and babble with her.  Like many new moms, I had a lot of trouble breast feeding and Hilary helped me through all that as well.  She provided suggestions that my OB and baby's pediatrican had missed.  Hilary was so supportive, kind, and encouraging.  She provided only suggestions, no judgements whatsoever, and worked to make sure I raise my son and do things that I am comfortable with.  Honestly, it's like having my best friend in the house who took care of my son and I the way we wanted to be taken care of and felt comfortable with.  With her help, motherhood seemed easier and more pleasant and I felt like my self and more confident.  I would highly recommend Hilary to any new mom.  She'll be your best friend, your nurse, your baby's nanny, and so much more while you go through the most difficult time of your life.
Carly Kunkler: Hilary is a reliable and trustworthy postpartum Doula for our family from day 1. We arrived home from the hospital and shortly after she started coming and helping us navigate the first few weeks of being new parents. Hilary helped me do everything from learning to breastfeed and swaddle to helping us choose which bottle was right for our baby... she even helped us learn how to properly change a diaper! Our son loved her warmth and compassion that she arrived with and you could tell they had an instant bond. Hilary also helped us with overnight care which we were so grateful for and were able to get some rest after a lot of sleepless nights! I honestly could not have done the first two months without her. She continues to help our family when we are in a pinch and we are so grateful for her!! Hilary is a mom herself and knows what its like to navigate the vulnerable stages of coming home with a newborn. I could not recommend her enough and we will be calling her again if we have another baby!
Nataliya Potapenko: When my daughter was two weeks old, I joined a mommy support group led by Hilary. Hilary is an incredible doula - she is warm, knowledgeable, and made it comfortable for us to open up about the good and the bad of the early days with newborns. Having a community who understands what you are going through, gives advice, and a safe space to just talk it out was crucial for my emotional and mental wellbeing. It's been five months, and we still meet up with moms and babies from the group for playdates. Joining Hilary's group was one of the best decisions that I could've made in my early motherhood, and I'd recommend it to every new mom.
Hayley Germack: I joined Hilary’s New Parent Group after a respected friend recommended it. I was about 6 weeks postpartum with my son, coming out of a cold and isolated winter. I was so relieved to naturally fall into step with a mama tribe experiencing newborn reality at the beginning of the end of a pandemic. I was very grateful for the calm and welcoming camaraderie that Hilary helped foster.
Alex Birch: Hilary was my postpartum doula and led a virtual group for new parents that I joined after the birth of my daughter. I knew I wanted a postpartum doula to help me navigate the overwhelming information, feelings, and decisions of a first-time mom. I interviewed several doulas and Hilary stood out immediately. She has knowledge and resources at her fingertips for any question under the sun. She loves to learn and is always educating herself in new ways. But above all, she is a compassionate, kind, and encouraging person who LOVES babies and is truly passionate about her role helping families. I remember a time days after my daughter's birth when I felt defeated and depressed about breastfeeding. My husband reached out to Hilary who Facetimed with me that night in her pajamas, sat with me while I cried, and gave me the support I needed most. She always met me where I was and never pushed any specific agenda or way of parenting — her philosophy is all about doing what is best for you. I really trust and respect her and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Hilary!
Lexi Malkin: We used Hilary as both our birth doula and for post-partum support. Hilary was incredibly easy to work with and made pregnancy, birth and recovery in a pandemic so much easier for us. From the very first email, I felt comfortable with Hilary. She was responsive and informative without any judgment about our birth plan or choices. Hilary provided me with much needed education and confidence and allowed me to advocate for myself throughout my pregnancy. Hilary helped me feel comfortable with the induction process and was in constant communication until she arrived at the hospital. Hilary helped us create the best possible environment for labor and delivery and worked seamlessly with the L&D nurse and my partner to support me.Just as Hilary was incredibly valuable leading up to birth and throughout the labor and delivery process, she was just as critical to helping me have a healthy post-partum recovery. Hilary knew exactly how to support us as we navigated the hazy newborn days. She provided emotional support and helped with all of the mundane tasks like getting the dishes done and sorting baby clothes. Hilary is a wealth of knowledge about newborn care and early breastfeeding challenges. Most importantly, Hilary has incredible intuition into what would be helpful for brand new parents and she made our transition to parenthood as smooth as possible.I cannot imagine navigating this journey without Hilary and I am so grateful to the support she provided.
Haleigh Regan: One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life was choosing Hilary to be my doula. It’s hard to put into words how impactful she was in so many areas of my pregnancy and birth experience. From our first meeting, I could tell she was a smart, caring, encouraging woman and instantly made me feel comfortable. She helped us prepare for the birth of our baby, and also just got to know us as people and as a couple, which felt so important too. Anytime I had a question, she was always there to help, and just supported me as I approached my due date. When I started early labor, she was in constant contact with my husband, which he said was incredibly helpful. I told her I wanted a “mom type” comfort during labor, and she did exactly that. She was my cheerleader when I thought I couldn’t go on, my comforter when I felt overwhelmed, and my advocate when I needed help making decisions or making requests. She was so selfless during the entire experience. As labor went on into night, Hilary kept me going when I truly thought I couldn’t. She knew how to give the perfect balance of encouragement with a little bit of push that I needed without being overbearing. Both my husband and I still say to this day that choosing Hilary as our doula was worth more than we ever could have imagined. She will always be so special to our family, and we are so grateful for her!
Alexis Scanzani: Hilary was a wonderful resource throughout my pregnancy and a great support during my unexpected c-section. As first time parents, it was a great relief to my husband and I to know that she was there to answer questions and help us think through our birth plan. And when our baby had different plans, Hilary was right there with us, in the middle of the night, even though it was 3 weeks ahead of my due date. She continues to provide caring, nonjudgmental support for us post-partum. She is a thoughtful, well-informed doula with a calming, reassuring presence. Hilary is fantastic and I strongly recommend her!
Sidonie Granadillo: Hilary is WONDERFUL. My husband and I feel very grateful to have found Hilary when we did. We had considered hiring a doula for the pregnancy and birth of our first baby, and as soon COVID-19 hit, we were certain we wanted (and needed!) the additional support. We were both so comfortable with Hilary during our initial zoom introduction call that we confirmed we wanted to work with her while on the call. Childbirth is perhaps the most personal thing that a couple goes through, and it was very important to use that we were comfortable with whoever we would be working with. Hilary is warm, compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and has a great sense of humor. It is obvious Hilary is very passionate about what she does. The support and guidance she provided over the last two months of my pregnancy were invaluable. She helped us really, really think through what type of birth we wanted, and why. She provided resources and suggestions to educate ourselves, as well as various checklists to make sure we were prepared. We never felt judgement about our decisions, and she often said that she is just one of many resources we should use. She made herself available to us outside of our standard calls, and was constantly checking in. The unprecedented times of COVID-19 made it impossible for her to physically be with us at the hospital, but we still felt very supported. We had only planned on having a birth doula, but day one postpartum we decided we wanted the continued support of Hilary in whatever way we could. For a few weeks we did social distant and virtual visits, and once we both felt our families had quarantined safely, we started in-person support. I can’t say enough how much we have appreciate having her here, whether it is for information sharing and talking through baby questions, helping with light housework, going for walks, and just being here with us. She has become a friend. Hilary wants all of her mommas to feel supported, and she has arranged social distant meetups, Facebook groups and connections for all clients, past and present. My family cannot recommend Hilary enough.
Shital Gadade: Each birth experience is different and usually involves unexpected decisions and changes along the way. Having Hilary there as a guide as those changes came up was incredibly helpful to my husband and me. She accompanied us with patience, grace, and humor for more than 34 hours of labor. She is knowledgeable, professional, humble, respectful, passionate, and reliable; she made such a connection within the first two meetings that felt we had known her for ages. Hilary is a fantastic doula, and I highly recommend her.
Rachael Hager: Hilary was absolutely amazing! We had two meetings before the labor to practice different positions, to discuss the different birthing options, and put together a birth plan. She was an awesome reasource of information and was wonderful for referring further videos and readings for topics on labor positions, breast feeding, and tummy time to name a few, and was constantly answering me and my husband’s questions. My labor was a bit longer than average, but Hilary was so dedicated and came around 9 pm which is when I went to active labor and spent the night with us, and didn’t leave our side until our baby girl came into the world the next day at 6pm. She is just such a positive and sweet, caring person to have around, I was so happy she was our doula! She kept suggesting different positions, and was constantly adapting to what I was able to do, and was also super critical to setting a calming mood with vanilla scented wipes, battery operated candles, and helping with playing music from our playlist. It was super helpful to not only me, but my husband as well to have Hilary around. This was our first baby and so neither of us knew what to expect so it was great for my husband to have Hilary to help him navigate how to help me. We highly recommend Hilary as a doula!
Nicky H: Hilary has been my postpartum doula starting the day after we arrived home from the hospital. She has made the transition from pregnancy to being a mother feel seamless and much less scary than I had anticipated. From day one she has helped me immensely without me having to always ask for help, including, but not limited to: support with breastfeeding, general baby care questions, diaper changing, company during quiet times when I needed company, watching the baby when I needed quiet time, support during walks to get some much needed postpartum/c section exercise and fresh air and other support when needed. It's been great having someone around who has not only had doula training, but also two kids of her own. She really cares about me and my baby in such a way that has really lowered my stress and anxiety levels. Not to mention my husband really appreciates her help, too! He doesn't have to worry about me and the baby as much while he's gone back to work because he knows I have great support at home. He's even recommended a postpartum doula to his friends who are currently expecting based on our great experience with Hilary.
Molly Tavares: I just gave birth a month back and Hilary joined in with another doula to tag - team at my birth. She was great, and even though we hadn't gotten to meet in person before, it was like she could read my mind! She joined my team at the last minute since my original doula had Hilary as a doula and they both wanted to come - I couldn't have survived without both of them. Hilary was super supportive and asked all the right questions of our midwives and nurses as the process went along to make sure my wishes were honored and wasn't afraid to "get physical" with counter pressure, etc! She checked in with me multiple times after the birth and answered any questions I had with great resources. I was so very thankful to have her on my team! Highly recommend =]

Hypnobabies Boston: what do users think?
Ashley Koles: Kelley has such wonderful & positive energy! My husband & I enjoyed our class with her. She is very welcoming and easy to communicate with. This class is 100% all you need to mentally & physically prepare for a beautiful and peaceful birthing. The daily practice is especially helpful. I look forward to the daily exercises which put me into complete relaxation. Thanks Kelley!!
Amira Kabbara: Hypnobabies is an AMAZING class, and Kelley, the instructor, is equally as wonderful. My husband and I looked forward to every single class and were so sad when it was over! We are now two months away from expecting our first child and feel incredibly prepared, ready, and open for an easy, comfortable childbirth. This class helps to remove all fears around childbirth and really educate you. Knowledge is power, and sometimes just understanding the science behind everything helps you feel in control of your birth and know that whatever happens, you are prepared and understand everything that is going on. We would HIGHLY recommend this class to anyone - we learned so much and felt a lot of support!
Sara Aggeler: My husband and I recently concluded our Hypnobabies class with Kelley. It was extremely informative and worth every penny. Not only did we get a full education and have much more knowledge leading into the upcoming birth of our first child, but we both left with a greater sense of ownership and authority in our experience. These days it is difficult to find your voice in a hospital setting, to know your rights, and what choices you get to make. This class makes us feel like we are more invested and knowledgable about the birthing experience. The tools in the classroom are empowering and the techniques have already proved to be helpful throughout pregnancy and other circumstances as well. I am so grateful that we found this class, and are calmer and more excited than ever to birth our baby. I am sad that the class has come to an end, but am happy to have the skills that will help me through birth and as a new parent.
Sam M: My best friend/birth partner gifted me the HypnoBabies course to help recover from the trauma of my first child’s birth. Hypnobabies has been essential in helping me to regain confidence in my body, to trust what I know, and to find comfort in my support system. Just weeks away from my second baby’s arrival, I feel empowered knowing that my body is equipped with everything I need for a safe and comfortable birth. I credit my renewed sense of confidence to the abundance of relevant and effective course material, a wonderfully positive and knowledgeable instructor, and a safe space of expectant families with similar goals. I highly recommend Hypnobabies!
Sarahgrace Kelly: Hypnobabies was a fantastic experience for both of us - Mom-and-Dad-to-be. There was a great deal of information presented during the classes to help empower us in making informed decisions for the birth of our baby boy.The instructor, Kelley, is absolutely fantastic! She is very knowledgeable about the techniques and creates a welcoming environment for everyone in the class. I would recommend Hypnobabies to anyone who is looking for a comprehensive childbirth education class.
Eric Fonnesbeck: We had a great time with Kelley preparing for the birth of our first child! She was very thorough in going over all the aspects of birthing, from the months of pregnancy to the actual day of birth. My wife and I highly recommend her class.

NAPS + Nurture by NAPS: what do users think?
Stephanie McNamara: I can't say enough about the support I've received from NAPS over the years. I've used their LC services multiple times, the membership, as well as the baby bootcamp and each experience has been better than the last. They're the best of the best and I wish I could gift a NAPS LC to every new mom. It takes a village and NAPS has been an integral part of ours!
Natalie Cappellazzo: I cannot recommend NAPS highly enough. I had a fantastic experience start to finish and feel that my appointment with Abby was critical to my success with nursing. She was extremely thorough, thoughtful, and encouraging, and after our session I felt so much more equipped and confident. Setting up an appointment was seamless— I reached out on a Tuesday and had an in-home appointment scheduled for the very next day. Abby wrote up a detailed plan of action that I was able to refer to after the session. And then several staff members checked in over the course of the following week. Really excellent support that I appreciated so much as a new mom. Thank you NAPS!
Grace: I was having more self doubt about my milk supply and was recommended to them by my sister in law. Meghan is awesome!!! She is very knowledgeable and most importantly, emphatic. She offers answers and support both intellectually and emotionally. Breast feeding can be confusing, and especially emotionally challenging. I gained a lot of clarity and feel much more confident in this journey. It's a total game changer, so say the least. I highly recommend to new moms who are feeling lost to reach out to them!!!
Carly Wellington: This service absolutely saved my mental health from spiraling - a true life saver! Lauren entered our home and was immediately met with a new mom crying - she instantly addressed the issue, comforted me and let me know that this was normal and OK to be feeling this way. I am so thankful I scheduled this service and will absolutely recommend to anyone I know having their first baby or adding another child to their family. I had a list of questions to ask about me as well as my 8 day old baby, and Lauren answered them fully and in a way that made me feel empowered about the plan moving forward. My wife and I learned so much in the 4 hours Lauren spent with us, which made us feel so much more confident as new parents. Wish I could give 10 stars!
Cassandra Roeder: We had an excellent experience with the day of discharge service, and I’m so glad we did it. Lauren was thorough, friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, and patient even though I’m sure some of our “new parents who have no experience with babies” questions seemed silly. She put our minds at ease that much of what we were doing to care for our then 2-week-old daughter was perfectly fine, and she shared a number of good tips to help us get more comfortable with basics like feeding positions, burping techniques, swaddling, etc. Lauren also did a nice job of talking through and assessing some very specific challenges I was having with pumping and recommending next steps and other NAPS resources I could take advantage of. Highly recommend!
Alexandra DiGrado: Alex K was the absolute best lactation support! So lucky to have been the recipient of her incredible care.
Kavita Patel: Baby Bootcamp was amazing. They really brought in the experts from nurses, to sleep consultants, to Pelvic floor PTs. My husband love it. He’s so adamant about being an equal, active parent, and it allowed him in-depth knowledge of prepping for the baby, labor, and what to expect when the baby comes that he felt he wasn’t finding in “dad” apps.
Alyssa Geran: I had a zoom lactation consult today with Katie Flaherty and it was beyond helpful! Katie was full of great advice and listened to my concerns with an open mind. She made me feel both heard and validated. I left our session with new strategies to try with regards to feeding and my infants sleep patterns, and an overall better feeling about being a first time mom. This support and professional guidance was exactly what I needed right now and I plan on meeting with her again in the future.
Jessica Cohn: Boston Naps has been an incredible resource both before and after birth. I especially recommend their lactation consultants!
Caitlin Goin: NAPS has been an amazing resource for us during pregnancy. We’ve listened to almost every podcast episode, online videos through the membership, and thoroughly enjoyed the array of topics covered in the pre baby bootcamp. We’re about a month out from our due date now and feel as prepped as we likely could be!
Mary Gamber: I can't give enough praise to Nicole Fox, our incredible lactation consultant! Nicole met with us the day after we got home from the hospital with our first baby, and helped us with breast feeding, bottle feeding (w/ formula), and pumping. Nicole is kind, supportive, non-judgmental, and full of tips and wisdom. Nicole is also extremely perceptive, and worked with our pediatrician directly to share her concerns about a medical issue with our daughter -- without her intervention, it would have been weeks before we were able to diagnose her. Thanks to Nicole we've had a successful feeding journey with our daughter and are so grateful! We're excited to continue to work with Nicole and NAPS as our daughter gets older and we work on a weaning plan!
jordan zimmermann: I became a Nurture member during pregnancy and watched several online classes, then used their LC service 4-5 times after my babe was born. They are LIFESAVERS. I struggled with breastfeeding/pumping and they offered MUCH more personal support than the hospital LCs and love that they come to your house! I wish this service was more common, NAPS is really filling a void parents need. I have also used for nurse calls to help with allergy advice and to help create a plan for siblings sharing a room. They are able to give really specific feedback even on 30 min calls! The Ask a Nurse feature is also worth every penny of the Nurture membership, highly recommend that when you're in the depths of parenthood and need some regular advice through feeding or sleeping, etc.
Alexis Chan (US): BEST thing I ever did during my first two months with my newborn was hire one of their lactation consultants, Olivia. She came over to my house 3 separate times, and each session was SO valuable. First, she helped me with everything breastfeeding and made me feel so much more at ease starting that journey. I then had her come back to help me with severe latching pain, and she was able to tweak my positioning and pain went completely away! third time, she was like my therapist and really helped me make the decision to stop breastfeeding. I talked to so many people about it, but she was the one that really made me feel like I was doing the right thing and I was still a great mother for deciding to switch to formula.
Nikki Bernasconi: This is my first ever Google review, but I had to share how amazing this company is! I had a meeting with one of their lactation consultants and it was so incredibly helpful. Breast feeding is like a full time job, and there is so little education on it while pregnant, so to meet with a nurse and get one on one feedback was so necessary. Meg was kind and professional and helped me feel more confident in what I am doing. I am already planning on another session to discuss pumping and returning to work. If you’re in the fence with whether or not to make an appointment, DO IT! I would absolutely recommend NAPS to all my pregnant and mama friends - they are an amazing resource!
Kaitlin Rotella: I cannot recommend reaching out to NAPS for assistance with breast feeding enough! I was able to schedule a virtual appointment within hours of reaching out, which for a struggling mom was huge. I worked with the nurse Alli to address some issues I was having with latch, pumping, engorgement, honestly a little of everything. Within minutes I felt like I was talking to a friend and by the end of the call felt like I not only gained invaluable information, but felt like I had a great therapy session too! Alli was so knowledgeable and was able to relate to my struggles without any feelings of judgment. She was clear and thorough in her instructions, explaining what to do and why for any question I asked. By the end of the call I had a successful latch with Alli cheering me on! Do not hesitate to reach out for help, this completely changed my mindset and future with nursing.
Rebecca Arias: I cannot recommend NAPS enough. I had heard of NAPS mostly because I live in South Boston, and had seen their office on West Broadway. Shortly after coming home from the hospital with my son, I was in dire need of a lactation consultant. I contacted NAPS and they had someone at my home the very next morning. Their lactation consultation helped put together a plan that made an enormous difference in my milk supply and I continued to work with her during my first few months postpartum. Shortly after, I opened my trial membership to their Nurture by NAPS platform and I loved it so much I immediately became a member. It gives you access to tons of resources on everything from pumping at work to nap schedules, starting solids and what to expect as your baby grows. The absolute best is the "Ask a Nurse" message board, which is exactly what it sounds like! A nurse or nurse practitioner will respond to the questions you post, on anything from baby sleep troubles to sunscreen and everything in between! This alone is worth every penny of the membership. I soon joined a New Moms Survival Group, and it's amazing what a difference it makes to your mental health when you have other women experiencing the very same things as you at the exact same time. Lastly, I booked a consultation with the sleep guru herself, Ellen. I cannot stress enough how dramatically this wonderful woman has changed my life- she is absolute magic in every way, and there are not enough thank you's in the world. Overall, everyone should leave the hospital with their beautiful baby and a NAPS membership.
Lauren Kim: My experience with Nuture by Naps has been wonderful. With this being our first baby, my husband and I signed up for the Nuture by NAPS baby bootcamp and CPR class. Both classes were incredibly helpful and comprehensive for new parents. They covered lots of ground and made us feel much more confident going into parenthood. Once our daughter arrived, we also booked an in home lactation consultant, Bronwen, who came to our house to help me and baby get acclimated to breast feeding. She was able to come in one day after I reached out, which was so helpful and timely. It was so nice to have one on one attention and get specific feedback and coaching for our situation. I would 100% recommend any service provided by Nurture by Naps. Everyone we've worked with has been extremely knowledgeable and relatable!
Lisa Goldney: I scheduled a lactation/bottle consultation with NAPs because I had concerns over the increasing fussiness of my 10 week old. My guess was she had a lot of gas because of increased air intake during feeds. I submitted a request for an in-person consultation and was contacted via text very quickly to set up an appointment. My nurse was Nicole Fox and she was amazing. In the beginning of our session we discussed my concerns and she gave me a brief rundown of what she was going to do during her visit. She was there for an entire wake window, beginning with a (gloved) examination of her mouth. Turns out she has a short pallet and from there we were able to determine the best nipple and nipple size for her to use. Nicole fed my daughter and while feeding talked me through what she was noticing (a clicking sound coming from the front of her mouth likely caused by her lip breaking the suction) and was able to point out some cues she noticed toward the end of the feed (her tongue was playing with the nipple, she was turning her head away from the bottle). During the burping Nicole gave tips on how to relieve gas pain and showed me how to massage her belly and calm her. Then we talked about naps and night sleeping and she showed me how to use the 5 Ss to get her down. My daughter did NOT like the swaddle and was screaming and Nicole was able to rock her and shush her before transferring her to the Dock-a-Tot and when she woke up screaming almost immediately showed how to get her back to sleep without picking her up. We are beginning to put her in her crib for the first nap of the day and also overnight. She answered so many questions that my husband and I had about her development and milestones, feeding, and sleeping. We began implementing her strategies that night and was able to successfully begin a bedtime routine that included feeding, burping, and swaddling that we are confident will help our daughter form healthy sleeping habits. Our visit was covered by our insurance (we have BCBS) and we will be scheduling a follow up visit in a couple of weeks. The consultation also came with a two week trial of their online membership program which I have already begun using to further our success with feeding and sleeping. The “Ask a Nurse” board is an invaluable resource- you ask a question and get a reply from a registered nurse within 24 hours! I have also begun taking their course on 3-6 month olds and have learned a ton more about sleeping!I highly recommend NAPs for new parents like me who may be overwhelmed with all the conflicting information around newborn sleep/feeding and want an individualized, hands-on experience to learn from.
Heidi Ferguson: I used Boston NAPS for a lactation consult after the birth of my second child and had a wonderful experience. A weekend delivery limited my ability to utilize hospital lactation services and baby didn’t want to feed once my milk came in. The NAPS team was very responsive when I called and I appreciated coordinating an appointment via text message. Christine did a fantastic job and set us up for success. She quickly determined a robust letdown was overwhelming baby, causing poor feeds, and thus leading to engorgement. She was able to modify our feeding position in real time and the weight check was a nice confirmation of a successful feed. I would highly recommend Boston NAPS as an integral part of a mom’s postpartum recovery team.
Azucena Ramos: Hands down the best LC I’ve ever worked with (and I worked with quite a few during this pregnancy/postpartum period). I worked with Meg who very quickly honed in on some of the big issues my little one was having and with her suggestions, he was able to breast feed for the first time since he was born (he was 5 weeks at the time). They also made scheduling SO easy, allowing me to text them my info at my own pace (a HUGE help during the first few weeks when things are crazy). I am so grateful to Meg and to NAPS for their phenomenal work. I will be working with them exclusively from here on out and you should too!
Livie Cohn: NAPS provided me with an incredible experience. They responded right away to my request for LC support, sent a qualified and knowledgeable LC over to my house that day, and throughout my appointment provided me with a calm and nurturing experience that restored my confidence in feeding my baby. I can't thank Bronwen and the NAPS team enough for such a wonderful experience and would recommend them to anyone wanting a warm and supportive experience.
