BCYF Mirabella Pool: what do users think?
Angus Black: You have to pay - and schedule an appointment - to swim in this “public” pool. Excessive bureaucracy at its best in Boston.
Beth Foster: I love Mirabella, i wish Boston had more outdoor pools like this one. Hours have reduced after Covid but you can still get a good swim session in by registering and signing up on the BYCF website. Bring chairs if you need- the area where you lounge is concrete. There is a deep pool and a longer lap pool with shallower depths. Lifeguards on duty and the bathrooms have sufficient space for changing/washing. A gem of a city pool! Skyline views and a breeze off the harbor make it so special here!
Maria R: Okay but you have to make a line and sign in to get in
gustavo cavallero: Best public pool in the world
New England Wiffs: 3 years ago or so this pool used to be very enjoyable. Now they make you pay 45 dollars and 75 dollars for families every time you go here. Last year they only let us swim at the pool for an hour (due to covid) like how are you gonna make us swim for 1 hour. But nice view and nice breeze.
Divakar Jain: Excellent public facility. Note that there's usually plenty of kids and it's not super convenient if you are looking for a solid workout. You'll have to find your space and just go with the flow. Lifeguards on site and okayish restrooms.
Stew Willey: Beautiful views and very nice workers.nice huge pool for good work out
Sumlite Ytv: Supper trash food expensive and u have to pay to get in …. I don’t mind paying but if you are going to be a rude lil old bat lady then yeah I do mind paying because I’m not paying to have a bad day , old white lady very rude to color people , she said the n word to white co workers talking about some color people in the line , great view tho
Denis Machado: clean large perfect and safe
Jenn Adams: Just started a new season of the pool being open and went there for my first time. Only the main pool (~3-5 ft deep; Olympic sized) was open, but the former dive well was filled and I hope they’ll open it later into the summer. Free this year, but you have to sign up for a 1h45 time slot through BCYF 24 hours in advance. Beautiful view, wasn’t too crowded, great place.
Danny Quynh Lam Ong: Nice. Water is a bit cool. I will be back.
Jeremy Gartland: No lane lines because it was a giant family swim but it was pretty refreshing and I really appreciate the lifeguards being there and the pool being open
Shamso Smith: I went here about 4 years ago with some neighborhood kids from Charlestown. We ALL had BCYF MEMBERSHIPS that I was told was VALID AT ANY BCYF FACILITY AND POOL.Well this day I felt like we were racially profiled from the moment we were waiting in the line. The staff took their time to come and help us. I PROUDLY gathered all of the children’s memberships and handed them over to the pool staff. The woman at the table looked at me when I was handing them to her and said @ what are those?” I said these are our memberships. The woman said we don’t take these here. I explained that upon having the parents purchase the memberships that we would be allowed the same perks at ALL BCYF facilities and we were told YES. Well the woman said NO the information was incorrect and that we would have to pay a $20 memberships EACH UNLESS we were a family and then that I believe would be $75. The exact same fees that were quoted by the Center we purchased our memberships from prior, and were told they could be used anywhere.I then told the woman that I was just being neighborly and took the children to that pool because they needed a change of scenery but was still close enough to home and if she could just waive us the day and if we chose to come back we would look into purchasing “THEIR MEMBERSHIP”. That woman said NO and at this time the line was starting to build up and asked us if we weren’t going to buy a membership could we please leave the line so they could admit PEOPLE WITH MEMBERSHIPS.I felt the woman was very insensitive to our situation and the fact that the kids were crying because they really had their hearts set on swimming at that pool and we were all turned away. We were DEFINITELY PROFILED BEFORE WE EVEN ARRIVED AT THAT TABLE. You can go there any day and only see Italians or Caucasians in that pool. Unless you happen to be of a MIXED RACE.Well needless to say I’ve NEVER been to that pool since.
Mary: Every time I call to make an inquiry they answer by putting down the phone on you. Bad customer service
Alejandro Alvarez: We went there and theh didnt let us use the floaties but its fine
Wesley Ireland: Known as the Italian Riveria, I wish this spectacular place was open from Memorial Day weekend until Columbus Day weekend! It usually opens around June 20th and goes through to Labor Day weekend.
rrcs3234: nice view, but the mason pool got em beat
Jojo: The staff are just rude 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏿
Zoe Daniela Lara: The new policy is horrible! and it has ruined summer for a lot of kids/teenagers .
Kristen Douthit: Mirabella is typically cold as ice, but you can't beat the views or the people. Beautiful neighborhood pool, if you can stand the polar plunge!
Vlissara Upara: Such a huge pool

Derek L: This pool has been a lifesaver for my family this summer. I just wish it could stay open until school starts.
Madelyn Villanueva: It’s a nice pool but the staff seems to not want to work. Harry isn’t a lifeguard which I find so odd on how he’s the manager but isn’t a lifeguard 🤔. Needs better management!!!!!
Maria R: I like it it was real laid back and had the little canopy things where you could go with benches with your family who was nice and clean
Wanda Vazquez: Love this place
Beth Baniszewski: Nice pool, free to the public. Not very deep, but that's good for kids.No separate areas for lap swimming or diving. Not many tables or benches, so bring some folding chairs or extra towels to sit on.The entrance is a little weird - you have to go through the bathroom. There's a good number of lifeguards, but they aren't all the most attentive.
Juan Show: Love this place been coming here da last couple years the staff is great they are very attentive the place is great and they do pool checks n the parking is free it's a gd place just FYI due to some construction the kiddie pool is closed buuuut the bigger pool has a small bout 2ft area for the kiddies
Kristen Douthit: Great pool for kids because it has a graduated shallow end (starting at 2 ft 6 in).
Afroza Sultana: Thank for the swimming pool in Cambridge that’s next to my house and my childen
kathleen obrien: The kids have a blast and it's easy to get too
Karmen G: Excelente lugar. Los salvavidas estan muy atentos con los niños. El lugar es limpio y muy bonito para disfrutar en familia

Boston University Swimming Lessons: what do users think?
Louis Keen: Nice pool
Betsy Yates: Really nice instructor and a great facility for swim lessons - lower lighting, small pool ideal for young learners. Not sure if it was a scheduling snafu between swim meets and community swim time, but one of our lessons was overtaken by lap swimmers which made it impossible for our kid to do his lesson laps. Called main office, but they weren’t very concerned.
Chris Karl: Various classes for all ages. Visit the BU fitrec website for details. Classes don't require BU affiliation.
Pruthvi Reddy: The pool is top notch worth it
Bill Nash: Top notch operation from the pool manager (Dave) to the Vice President of Construction, and the Project Manager with whom I met with almost daily. I found them to be very demanding, but also very helpful, as my company restored a somewhat dilapidated competition swimming pool bulkhead. With the bulkhead completed, and substantial restoration of the entire pool finished by the general contractor, this years competition will be in a pool that looks as good as, or possibly even better than, the year the pool and the bulkhead were brand new.Guests should be sure to bring cameras and video recorders, because this year promises to be unforgettable.

British Swim School of Homewood Suites Brookline: what do users think?
Ijeoma Eche: I have never posted a review about a product or customer experience before. While there are varied experiences and not everyone will perceive things positively, I was disappointed about the services and importantly, this company’s response. I signed up my son for beginners’ swimming class. I was very excited. He looked forward to sessions. We attend our first class. It went very well. We attend our second class and at the end, we were told that the pool will no longer be used for swimming classes. The swimmer instructor said she was no longer with the company after that day’s session. We were directed to a nearby hotel with a pool in Dedham. We go there and see no staff during our planned session. We call the customer service and first the initial contact on the phone did not know who we were even after disclosing relevant demographic information. After waiting 15 to 20 minutes, we receive a call back from a personnel who after I explained what the situation, she proceeded to tell me that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that the nearby pool I was directed to did not operate on the day we were told to go there. After explaining to her that I no longer want to continue the swimming sessions and that I would prefer to speak to a manager. She said no initially but afterwards, said someone else in managerial role would call me back. The call back took several days to occur. The manger who called back while she was nice, she did not care to address the issue. I asked for a refund because at that point I have paid $136.50 for two swimming sessions and this fee should have been for a month’s service or a make up session. It has been over 3 months now and no refund or apologies or make up courses were extended in relation to the poor communication and belligerent interaction I had with one of the customer personnel. Beware of this company before signing up.
Ethel Falaise: I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with British Swim School. I was very nervous about enrolling my 3 year old daughter in swim classes during a health pandemic, but after seeing the safety measures they’ve put in place to ensure the safest and cleanliest lessons I have no regrets. The attention and care my daughter receives during her lessons are amazing. She loves the water so much and recently got over her fear of jumping in! It was amazing to see how excited and proud she was of herself. The instructors are really attentive and I appreciate the updates and assessments they give after the lessons. Thankyou British Swim School!

Brookline Swimming Pool: what do users think?
Adam Fullerton: I have been to the Aquatics Center a few times alone with my 3.5 year old daughter. The facility is always clean with large men's/women's locker rooms and shower areas as well as (2?) Small family bathrooms/changing rooms with a locking door that offer privacy to shower. The different pools are perfect for all ages. Walk-in prices for an adult and child are very reasonable. The venue is good, but the star of the show is definitely the professional instruction. My daughter's swim teacher, Zeus, has been nothing short of spectacular. Last Summer my daughter spent many long days in a family member's pool with only Mom and Dad to teach her the basics. She lacked the confidence to swim without large floats and was uncomfortable dunking her head at all. After several classes, Zeus had built up her skill and confidence levels to the point where she can jump feet-first into the pool, swim half the length of the pool without assistance, and float on her back without assistance. We are all amazed how she can now hold her breath to dive down in the shallow end and pick up rings off the bottom. The progress she has made in just a few months is a testament to Zeus' skill and experience working with small children. Thank you Zeus!
Tania Munguia: Zeus is a great swim instructor. He is professional and patient but most importantly he has an extensive background in athletics and personal training so when he teaches he is diligent about form and safety. He works really well with both children and adults. Kids love him. He is the reason I keep coming back to the Kirrane Aquatics Center.
Petra Bignami: This public pool in Brookline is a GEM. The facility and particularly the swimming instruction is fantastic. Our son has thrived in early lessons this year because of one particularly talented and dedicate swim instructor, Zeus. We are so grateful to him and to the pool!
Cristiano Cairo: Nice facility. Incredibly nice and supportive staff.
Giang “Jenny” Tran: I did not take swim lessons as a child so I finally was able to make enough money to take private adult swimming lessons with Zeus. Worth every penny! He is really patient and takes his time to really explain the techniques/break down the steps, especially for slow learners like me. He is able to observe what I needed to practice more on (does not sugar coat) and gives positive reinforcement when noticing wins. I felt comfortable with lessons, more familiar with different swimming styles (e.g. breast stroke, freestyle, squid) and less embarrassed over time! Amanda and front desk were really helpful in rescheduling lessons when I was sick for two months. Much appreciation to Zeus and the team!! 🤗
Henrik Reid: Expensive for a day $10. But very nice pool. But then there are hotels that charge $25,$35 etc. Compared to riverbank state park in nyc $2 per day but not such a great locker room and some of the showers don't work. Next compare to NYC pools for one year with NYC ID IS $135. But the pools are not as nice (smaller). As opposed to $400 per year in brookline. So you have low brow and high brow. I think Brookline needs to factor in people who make lower incomes and if they can afford it. There was a senior that i spoke to that complained about the price. But this is brookline so i suppose there are no low income people here. Even the cops here are making over 100,000 with OT - that's what I have heard anyway. This is coming from a artist bohemian type who loves the finer things but has trouble affording them. Anyway enough rambling
Tobias Herrmann: Great pool for a great price. It's clean, staff is friendly. Eve more cheap if you are a student or live in Brookline. 5 swimming lanes, a kiddy pool and a diving well. Only downside is that it can be crowded sometimes, especially when they close lanes. Make sure to always check their schedule online.
Fengmin Z: My 6 YO daughter has been taking semi-private lessons with Zeus in the past two months. She has been afraid of water since very little, bath time was always a struggle. With only seven lessons, she is now completely a new person, and feels so comfortable in water. Zeus is such a great instructor and is so experienced dealing with kids who are afraid of water. In addition, he has a very systematic way of teaching swimming, my daughter has been making great progress in terms of swimming skills. Would definitely recommend.
Nathan Zhang: Great swimming place.
Avi Kaufman: We started coming here for swim lessons for our kids (6 and 4). Our kids didn't get much water time during the pandemic and were pretty nervous, so we opted for a semi-private lesson (one instructor with our two kids). We appreciate that was an option. Zeus was our instructor and we could not be more pleased. He worked with them at their level, helped them feel safe, and was a calm, patient, and encouraging teacher. Both kids learned a lot over the course of just six weeks with Zeus and we highly recommend. The facility itself was clean, locker rooms were spacious, and we like how there are three different pools for different uses. We also appreciated that there were non-gendered rooms we could use for the family. After 4pm there was plenty of parking spots right in front of the pool building. During school hours parking is a challenge since most of the area is by resident permit only. The one time I brought a kid for free swim during the day we parked a few blocks away on Waverley St and walked. It would be nice if there were more hours for the free swim and if it wasn't so expensive to bring a family for free swim. For Brookline residents, for 2 adults to bring 2 kids to free swim costs $28. ($8 per adult, $6 per child)
Nima Saeidi: My 5 YO son has private lessons with Zeus. He is a great instructor and is very good with getting kids comfortable with water. He has a very systematic way of teaching swimming and ensures the kids learns the fundamentals very well. Would definitely recommend.
Vicki F: Love going to the aquatics center for swim lessons with Zeus. The lessons are excellent. Zeus is a really patient and fun teacher. Our child has learned so much about proper technique and water safety!
Taryn Lacasse: I have been bringing my children here for swim lessons for the past 2 years (on and off due to Covid). My kids love the lessons, it has become the highlight of our week. I appreciate the flexibility with which we were able to schedule classes (once our usual session filled up), the facility is great (there’s a special shallow pool for the kids) and the instructor, Zeus, is the best! He is great with kids and has become one of my son’s favorite people. He makes the class fun, works with my son to progress his skills and helps build his confidence. We are very happy with the classes and facility.
bruno korbar: Great and clean facility. They are sorry on lifeguards though so the times might change on the short notice.
Devora Baronofsky: Pool is nice, the aerobics class is great. Amenities are lacking. Too many kids too many pushy parents not complying with rules. Parking is poor.
Uri Mariash: We take lessons with Zeus at the pool. Couldn't have been happier. The kids love him. My 6 year old was afraid to put her face in the water and she is now swimming happily with her goggles, diving and jumping in. My 3.5 YO is now swimming independently in the kids pool from side to side. Zeus has a great way to get the kids engaged and love swimming. He is so much fun to be around and has always ideas for creative games in the pool. He is very patient and is good at demonstrating and teaching kids how to swim properly. What an amazing experience in a public pool. In my opinion better than pricier private pools.
Hong Pua: Water is warmer now and still keeping adequate social distancing
Nick Hoffman: I like this swimming pool both in terms of area and cleanliness. I come here once a week, great place.
Dave Szeto: Great programs and 6 lanes of lap swimming as well as a dive well and a lesson pool
Sharon Cicchetti: clean and a salinated system for the water. Hands down better than chlorine system of water purification,
Endless Memories: Great front desk staff, amazing swimming facilty.

Commonwealth Sports Club: what do users think?
Ben Weaver: I recently joined CSC and it’s a wonderful facility. Very spacious and lots of equipment. All the staff members I’ve interacted with have been very helpful, kind, and welcoming. Highly recommend CSC!!
Joe Swanson: Great staff, great facilities, love working out here! Doesn't get too crowded and theres plenty of wonderful places in the area to visit for a healthy post workout snack hahaha
Faical Rayani: They were not able to provide a guest pass or a trial period so I can try the gym.I've never heard of a gym that doesn't have a guest pass or a trail period.Seems like a bad policy for attracting customers.Certainly did not attract me.
S Morales: I've spent my time at a lot of gyms, either attending or working, and I love the time I've spent at CSC! Staffers and members are friendly. The pool is a big plus, and the yoga classes were really well taught. I recommend this Allston gem to anyone wanting a well rounded gym experience.
tony nguyen: The best gym with a nice salt water and steam room, great amenities!
Duncan Hilton: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityThis is the best gym I've ever been to - the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the support of the trainers. I highly recommend it!
Brian Hall: Great staff, great equipment
Cole Kerr: Great facilities (and a nice pool) for a good price. Most importantly they refunded me very generously for several months of subscription when I mistakenly forgot to opt out of the post-COVID reactivation. After my horrific experiences with Boston Sports Club this was a very pleasant surprise! If I ever live in the neighborhood again I will gladly reopen my account with them. They take care of their customers, which is a rare quality in this industry imo
Claudia Meyer: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityVery clean and great layout. Great services!
Paula K: Great place. Great people. Very clean.
Melchior Maetzener: I miss swimming
Grant LaPierre: Overpriced planet fitness with poor management
Alexandria Will-Cole: Critical:Communication
Michael Logar: Best gym in Boston!
Masha Sukher: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Ann Whitney Freeman Sands: I love my gym
Yuge: Very good
Yeonsoo Kim: I love the place, group fitness classes and the facility itself are all very nice. However the staff there was SUPER unfriendly and rude. I loved going there for few weeks, but totally changed my opinion about this place after calling them for something and the attitude was totally unexpected. I called to change my membership from $79 regular membership to $900 personal training membership (3x week). Which I consulted about before even signing up. I talked with three employees from the club and they all said I could change my membership whenever I wanted to, there is a 4month commitment to the regular membership but it wouldn't matter if I changed to the personal training membership. However the front desk person kept telling me I am not allowed to change my membership because I didn't fulfill my 4months. She said I would have to keep my membership and purchase extra personal training sessions on top of the membership because I have to keep it for 4 months. I told them names of people I consulted about this but she said "You must have misheard her" which really threw me off- I did not mishear, I double checked and triple checked because I was interested in personal training from the beginning, and plus I am trying to pay more to the club and they are not letting me do it?????Anyways it turns out I was right, I am allowed to change my membership(of course, $79 vs. $900 duh) and not worry about the 4 month commitment I had with regular membership. BUT the front desk person DID NOT SAY a single apology, all the confusion, all the arguments, she didn't have the basic info she should have had; she was like, oh it seems I can do that, and I asked couple more questions afterwards but she sounded like she was so annoyed by that point and kept repeating the same thing she already told me and telling me to come to club on Monday and figure things out. Worst customer service experience, the person I talked to was super unfriendly and rude, almost made me NOT want to go to the club anymore.
Susan Fried: This is the first time I've ever been consistently motivated to stick with a training program long-term. It's because of the staff at CSC. They are friendly, professional, and make sure I have a training program customized for my needs. The facilities are always immaculate and comfortable. Instead of a big "corporate machine", it's small enough so I feel like it's "my gym". They greet everybody by name and create a warm and welcoming environment. I also like that there is a Physical Therapy practice on site! After an orthopedic surgery the Physical Therapist and a Personal Trainer worked collaboratively to maximize my recovery. It's a winning combination.
vincent benetreau: Definitely the best gym in the Boston area. The staff is amazing, knowledgable and always ready to help. They don't have every machine but all the equipment is in great condition and you can tell maintenance is done often. Salt water pool, steam room, sauna, and HOT TUB! Besides all that, the real plus is the atmosphere: the staff works hard to create a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, so everyone is nice. You can still get in the zone and do your thing, but it's a much nicer environment than most gyms I've been too. I had to change gyms because I moved to another part of Boston, and I miss CSC dearly!
Meifeng Jiang: Good service

The Clubs at Charles River Park: what do users think?
Drake S: It's a great gym but the music's too loud, especially in the back room with the machines. If you bring your own headphones, you'll still hear their music. It's kinda hard to concentrate. Hopefully they can turn it down a little!Edit: wait nevermind they turned it off I guess?
Olivia Romano: With a MGH employee discount, this is a great deal. Would highly recommend TJ as a personal trainer!
Amfar Arda: It was big enough and organized and clean
A McDonald: I go here for the indoor pool. It's maybe 15 meters? 3 lanes. Noticably shorter than half olympic. If you're near a YMCA or one of the university pools those are probably better for serious lap swim, but this is serviceable, super convenient, and not busy at all on weekday mornings. Have to reserve time in advance; half hour blocks. Rest of the gym seems nice. Lots of MGH folks and an emphasis on personal training services.
Robin Mayfield: The Best!!!
Julie G: Charles River Park is a relaxing health and fitness oasis in the center of the city with two pools (typically with multiple free lanes), excellent classes, trainers and equipment. Although it will undergo outside pool deck renovations soon, it is maintaining interior pool access and swim times/classes. I recommend the water aerobics sessions for low impact/high resistance non-stop fun! It's a pleasure to see families enjoying time in their cabanas - often returning year after year to commune and barbecue poolside.
Best of The Best: Positive:CommunicationGreat place and clean when i go there almost daily.
Jeremy Gartland: The indoor pool is pretty small, very much looking forward to the outdoor pool when the weather is warm. Staff is really friendly, lots of equipment as well. It's a little chilly in there these days however it's tough to find a lap pool that you get a lane to yourself.
Alan Li: This gym is located in the basement with most of the gym equipment as outdated as the facility. Not only that, once I canceled my membership, they continued to charge me two weeks after and when I reached out for some clarification, they responded in a very passive-aggressive and rude way. For the hefty price you pay for the access to this subpar gym, I would recommend using that money and finding a way better gym for half of its price. The only reason I didn't give this place a one star review is because the trainers are nice.
Austin Halani: Good
Andrea Fajardo: I guess it's ok for the membership price? The pool is pretty small for lap swimming. Has an 80s feel like that John Travolta / Jamie Lee Curtis movie. Staff was nice, tons of lockers. The clients tho... A lady kicked me out of my swim lane even though I still had 4min left. I guess you can't control rude Bostonians from showing up in public places. I personally wouldn't recommend this place at least for swimming.
Samuel Lopez: Everything is open and ready for muscle building.
Ramil Rahmanov: Good place
Carla D'avanzo: Been there for two years now, i love Adam’s classes. Great outdoor pool in the summer
Diane Brackett: It's kind of a dumpy-looking gym but they keep it very clean, the staff is nice, and the classes are awesome! Overall worth the membership, even though the hours are somewhat limited.
Saif Al-Enizi: Absolutely love this place. The staff are just amazing, the group fitness classes are excellent, the pool options all year round make it my favorite gym. Have been going almost daily for 3 years now.
Eustace James: Nice and clean gym, the staff are wonderful.
Matthew Tung: Really great rates for Partners employees! Everything you'd want in a gym, really.
Justin Alves: Great atmosphere to work out or hang by the pool
Christine Foster: $25 guest fee. Water is clean and refreshing.

Gold Star Pool: what do users think?
Jessica Baptista: Great kids pool that goes to 3 feet max. It never feels crowd because they control the capacity. Also, the life guards take their jobs seriously, which as a mom I appreciate. They also have a nice locker room. The pool area and locker room are very clean.
Jacob Pakman: I'm pretty sure they don't use chlorine. For a pool serving so many kids, that's pretty yucky.
Darcy Betancur: Such a terrible service. We lacked information and they were just so so rude about it. (Racist too)😑
