I can guarantee that they don’t have any health testing done ( eyes, genetic issues, hips, elbows ) just to name a few. I own rare breeds that have everything done from top lines that have cost a lot less then what they are selling them here for.

All the puppies there were sleeping and could tell they were hot! They only have a couple of slots in the back of the glass enclosure. Horrible! I can’t stop thinking of them.

Houdini: I can confirm that the other reviews are true; the store manager Anne is one of the most condescending, rude, and disrespectful employees I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Her demeanor reflects negatively on the store, which is unfortunate, because the other employees I interacted with were all incredibly kind and professional. If Anne acts this way towards customers, I can only imagine how she treats those poor dogs. If you’re going to purchase a puppy here, do yourself a favor and do it when Anne is not around. Disgraceful

Steven: It's been a long time since we had a dog in our house, every time my wife goes to the South Shore Mall she always stop's in to Pet Express. And looks at the puppy's. Well a couple of months ago she went in and see's this cocker spaniel pup and she fell in love with her. So you know the saying happy wife happy house. So l ended up getting the puppy, Astra Grace is the most happiest, cuddliest, cutie pie, and does the most funniest things. (She is our 4th cocker). Then we brought her to the vets, everything was good and come to find out she is a very rare cocker spaniel (chocolate merle) which means she has blue eyes like the huskies and the other breads. We are so happy to have this gem of a dog, she has changed our house it's a wonderful happy house now

Puppies are highly priced and come with a lot of toys and extra items that honestly I don't require but we're given to me anyways that was included in the price. Wish there was a way where you could buy the puppy without all the extra included toys. Some of the items they include in the kit are useful but the toys were a bit excessive. Other than that my puppy seems to be happy and healthy for now.

MELISSA TURNER: Today I enquired about the sweetest little senior dog that I saw on Petfinder. I read his bio and just fell in love. In the description it said that he had never been on a leash so a fenced-in yard would be best. I asked if this was a deal-breaker as I fo not have a fenced yard. I went on to explain that I adopted a 10 year old peekapoo in November who had never been on a leash in her life. She now happily trots around with us in her little harness and loves her winter coat especially. I received a reply saying that they were very strict on that point. I responded that was a shame and told this person that I never let my past dogs or current dog out without being there even in a fenced yard. I explained I am SO scared that an animal would attack her or a bird would carry her away. I then went on to wish that the dog would find a happy home. The response I got was so snide, rude and sarcastic! This is it:"There’s nothing sad about it. We have our requirements for each dog based on what we know of their past. We have no doubt we’ll find the perfect home for Oliver as we’ve done for countless dogs for the past 20+ years. Best of luck with your search."Wow. That is all I can say. I will never interact with this agency again. I hope this person quits bc he/she is really representing the agency poorly.

Our 1 year old just went for his one year check up at the vet and we were told that he is in great health. These women are patient and thorough when answering any questions you may have throughout the process, and have even given advice and answered questions we had long after taking our pups home. They raise their healthy and happy puppies inside of their home which leads to well rounded and socialized puppies.

Kristen Berger: Windsong Shih Tzu is a top notch breeder that I highly recommend. After much consideration of what I was looking for in a breeder, I contacted them and spoke with Jen Noun. She answered my questions and provided me with references including the contact information for her vet. I received positive feedback from all so I arranged for a site visit since I am wary of relying on the internet for information. I scheduled a meeting with Jen at her home so that I could meet her and see how the dogs lived. I found all to be as promised, the dogs are well cared for in a loving and clean home. I was able to meet my Hazel's mother and father and many of the other pups. They were all so loving and happy. Based on the upfront investigations, the positive site visit and Jen's extensive experience, I was happy to provide a deposit. Jen provided me with a booklet of helpful information that she had assembled, we went over specifics and she provided the contact information for a dog trainer, Jen Kesner, since the fee includes an initial consultation with the trainer. Imagine that, a breeder who goes the extra step to connect with a trainer so that you are well prepared for a positive puppy experience. After another month or so, I was able to bring my Hazel home. When I arrived to pick her up, Jen had all the paperwork ready documenting her initial vet check and pedigree. I was happy to provide the final payment in cash since I can only imagine how difficult it is for Jen to deal with customer's checks bouncing, etc. You are bringing home a living being and need to be as above board a customer as Jen is a breeder. My puppy is nearly 8 months old and is healthy with a wonderful temperament. She is my little love and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. I think very highly of Jen Noun and the supportive, extended Windsong Shih Tzu family network. I highly recommend Windsong Shih Tzu as an honest, caring and professional breeder.

lijia wang: I got my dog duke from Windsong after I lost my first dog handy. Not only duke has the cutest face of a shihtzu, (people always ask me on the street where I got duke) compare to my last dog handy who I also love with all my heart but from a pet store (I adopted him from his first owner) I can really tell how much healthier duke is. Duke has the perfect temperament, and you just know he is loved all the way. Jennifer also is always available whenever I have question after I adopt duke. I’m a new owner so I freak out a lot and will just message her all the time whenever either duke is not eating or have question like why are their spots on his belly? and Jennifer always will give me advise and answer my question. I’m so glad to find this place! I visited her place and I know how much she loves all the dog and never abuses them for profit. She retired the breeding dog very frequently and always make sure they are only adopted by the most responsible people.

Pam Macdonald: We got our Windsong puppy from Jen 7 years ago. He is a healthy, loving, beautiful dog. When he was very young our vet diagnosed him having a kidney problem. Jen was wonderful, she stepped right up, got her vets involved and in the end it turned out to be a false reading of an ultrasound. 7 years later, he is is a healthy, wonderful guy with no issues at all. I would highly recommend Windsong, you won't find a better, more caring Shih tzu breeder than Jen!

Dave S.: I can't recommend the Boston MSPCA. I filed three separate inquiries to them, never got a response back. Called them twice, they only called me back when I finally decided to show up in person to see the place for myself. They claim that they're very busy & understaffed but when I was there on 4/11, it was almost empty save for a few people checking out smaller animals like rabbits & cats and staff lounging around the lobby cracking jokes to each other. My wife & I waited a half hour to meet with Luis, who seemed judgmental & dismissive of us. After having a good interview with Moe, one of the dogs we were allowed to see, they rushed us out to close office (Only open from noon to 3pm!) and told us they needed to have an extra hour with Moe for "emotional counciling" and told us to return the following morning, where we *MIGHT* be allowed to adopt him.The Boston MSPCA claims to care about animals but when I interviewed with Luis & met Ledger & Moe (two pups my wife & I were considering), it seemed apparent to me that these dogs were not getting the care they needed. Ledger bit both me & my wife & Luis just watched, didn't intervene. And when we met Moe, he immediately peed on the floor when they took him out of his kennel and while he was peeing on the floor, Luis told me that Moe hadn't been outside all day. It was about 2:45pm in the afternoon when that happened. Moe was also overweight and obviously not getting any exercise. What kind of care is that?I genuinely don't believe this company cares about their animals or finding them homes. Interviewing with Luis felt like he was testing us and management told us they would not allow us to put any money down to ensure we could adopt Moe and then promptly told us if we did not return, he would be adopted by someone else. Other reviewers here say they felt like they had to fit the MSPCA's discerning requirements to a T and I completely agree with those sentiments. The manager, a lady named Deb, later argued with me over the phone when I voiced my concerns to her the following morning. My visit here was disheartening, discouraging and disappointing. 1/5 experience, I wish I could give zero stars.Try the Humane Society or Buddy Dog, out in Sudbury, if you don't want to feel like you're being scrutinized over adopting a dog.

They feared whe was experiencing septic shock, but my dog response after her surgery was slower than the usual expectancy response. My dog spay was covered by a voucher when I applied for a low income assistance program. All I had to pay was $260 dollars for her overnight care at the hospital until she fully recovered and got her blood pressure back up. I know now why they kept insisting that I spay her. What she went through was scary, and her twelve days of healing are all that I have to focus on. They are the best animal shelter and hospital.

ada santi: They were not wearing a mask and wow! They are so rude!I was looking around to find something for my friend’s dog. I am not very familiar with pet stuff, so I was trying to figure what to buy for her. First a girl rushed to me asking if I needed help. I said thanks and just looking. Then the short guy who is like a boss or something came around and asked like 5 times if I find everything ok, strangely staring. What is wrong with you people? To crown it all, unfriendly cashiers as well but I can’t blame them if that guy is their boss. Anyway, I bought a cheap dog toy and left. Was planning to buy a nice collar and some treats and toys and make a gift basket but I wouldn’t spend more with that much disrespect. Most of the items are overpriced, by the way. Much cheaper online. Pet stores must be friendly. My free tip for you as a project manager: be friendly and respect your customers. You are just a pet store not Tiffany! Maybe they were mad at me because I was wearing a mask! Horrible behavior! I am surprised a man of that age has never learned basic courtesy. He was also nicer to anyone who looked Irish.

Kr8v Grafix: For a Petco store...the outside was inviting and Covid signs were clear...very nice! Inside was cluttered and the layout a bit crowded to begin with. One employee was very helpful. However for the most part, it was more employees more avoiding people than helping. Kind of dingy inside as well. The store was well stocked for a smaller store toys, food, beds, and more!
