Steven Weinstein: From the top lady in charge of Vetco (it’s true, I forgot her name but she has a number, that she answers, and she really helped Tesla and me!) to the greeters who keep the pups and their peeps flowing, maneuvering appointments and accommodating exceptions because of whatever inevitable, completely legitimate reason everyone’s timeline does a back-flip in the same week. Just get there and they will help. This leaves the vets and Techs who then knock your experience out of the park, dog park of course. They really care, they get down with our pups, their laughter so distracting because you turn around and your done and it cost half of what it would have at a typical clinic.

Caroline Woods: Edit: the fear free practice is more about protecting the staff than the animals by making sure they’re too doped up to have any behavioral issues. If your little pup is anxious (not aggressive at all) they’re insistent on multiple dose of multiple sedatives before each appointment. I still think they are a good practice- and high quality vets. The staff just takes this policy too far.Great veterinary practice! I take my two dogs here one 2 the other 15. They take exceptional care of both my dogs and are very accessible to reach and accommodating. For full disclosure they are a no fear practice - so they’ll most likely request and recommend medication for your dog to prevent anxiety if they get nervous at the vet (at no extra-cost). Still don’t feel it’s entirely necessary in our case but doesn’t impact the quality of care. On the pricier side but that comes with any vet in downtown Boston

He's my everything, so I always want to make sure he's getting the best care and health support when he needs it. For anyone who wants to ensure the safest and most comfortable health experiences for their animals, I highly recommend Boston Veterinary Clinic. They prioritize the comfort of my cat always, letting him explore the exam room at each appointment, spraying Feliway on exam towels to calm him down, offering him treats to reinforce positive behaviors, etc. Their efforts to ensure the comfort of their patients is evident, even before you get to the office. If you book an appointment through the portal, they ask thorough questions about why your animal is coming in but also on how they react to the vet and stressful situations, so that they can prepare to make the best environment for your animal. The safety and comfort of your animals is their top priority, and they live up to that. I have never felt ignored at their practice either; as a young college student, I was worried when moving that finding a new vet would be difficult in terms of finding someone who would take me and my concerns seriously. The staff and team at BVC are so accommodating, friendly, and understanding. They always take my concerns seriously and are willing to adjust and adapt their care plans as needed. All of the doctors I've met here so far have been wonderful, and so have the vet techs and office staff. BVC is a safe, friendly environment for both you and your animals. Definitely recommend!

Benjamin Hicks: Really had a bad experience with this vet/location with our two ragdoll cats. They are very hard to get into touch with and will drastically up-charge for minor services. Also their staff didn't even know what a ragdoll breed of cat was, which was a red-flag from the start.Once when we went in for a blood test (which they implied was needed, but we later learned was totally optional) they couldn't find the vein and our cat was yelling and bleeding all over the place. It was a disaster.

Dee Boston: This clinic offered a package deal for the basic vaccines and blood work. My puppy was having anxiety and terrified. I tried comforting my puppy, i even offered to hold him while the vet did the blood work and they told me no, that would be a liability and that i needed to back away. The assistant put my puppy in a head lock! He was holding him too tight , my dogs eyes were rolling in the back of his head! He passed out from lack of oxygen!Do not recommend! Don't let this unprofessional tramatic abuse happen to your innocent animal.

The staff are very professional and welcoming, and booking appointments and getting Rx refills is easy. My pup has been seeing Christina Campbell for physical therapy to treat osteoarthritis. He has been doing underwater treadmill exercise, and he absolutely loves it! (Plus, it’s adorable.) She also is great about making recommendations and suggestions for at-home exercises, different supplements and foods, etc.I would highly recommend this practice.

If the issue is out of their realm of expertise they will not hesitate to make a referral.I do question the practice of charging for a vet visit before I even bring my animal in, which is what the North End location does. At the South End location I get charged at the end of my actual visit. Period.

Jillian Kinter: The team at Boston Animal Hospital’s Rehab Center have been nothing short of amazing. They have played a pivotal role in my dogs recovery after a very scary spinal injury called FCE. From the first day we met with them, they provided so much support and relief as we came up with a rehab plan. We have so much trust in them and don’t know what we would do without them!
Molly Jones: I have nothing but good things to say about this vet hospital. It took a while to become a new patient but man was it worth it. The staff are amazing. They try really hard for you to see the same vet each time so they get to know your pet and their overall well-being. One of my dogs is scared of men and my vet (who is a man) squats or sits on the floor every time he sees my dog to make him more comfortable. It’s the little things like that that make this place awesome. The fees are reasonable, the wait times are good and the care is exceptional. I used to go to Somerville Vet Clinic and it was a nightmare. Didn’t care about my pets, constantly getting information mixed up between animals and their lack of attention to detail to a medical condition one of my dogs had cost me thousands of dollars and 4 ER visits to get resolved and all they had was a food allergy. I love the holistic care Boston Animal Hospital provides and have not had any issues with them.

Dr. Evans explained in details and managed Jenks's kidney function since last year, and he is doing much better now. Recently we found Jenks has a big defect in his mouth that causing him in pain and not eating. Due to his age, we are afraid it could be cancer and I am so sad since he has been company me for more than 10 years and he is my baby. Due to COVID and holidays, we only can take him to ER and Banfield for emergency assessment, and we were only being referred to vet dental specialist, which has a half year waiting list. After we got an appointment with Dr. Hemstreet, he is so caring and helped Jenks a lot, by putting him to the next day surgery, finding the cause and the right treatment of the disease. He is also so nice to keep the treatment cost low in budget. I am very grateful for Dr. Hemstreet to help my baby and save me from helpless situation. I can see why BAH has so many good reviews in google, definitely deserves it!

Both were so knowledgeable and had open lines of communication. After moving to the city, I knew Boston Animal Hospital was the place for Boeing.Fast forward ~6 months, Boeing and I are extremely gracious for the team. All my friends did the same program at the similar period in other MA hospitals, which only costed around $400. Someone told us that they would offer promotion if we would like to pay full price initially. Later, no one is responsible for this promotion. They tried to pass the buck again and again. They clearly knew that we’re not going to stay in the USA for a long time since we did the International Health Certification. That’s how they make black money!

Corey Chapman: The staff are all super knowledgeable and very kind. I definitely felt me and my cat were well cared for and not forgotten about, even in a busy ER. What I appreciated most about Angell IS the staff. I always feel like my animals get the best possible treatment, and I feel like the people working there do their best to make sure I'm well informed about what's happening to my pet throughout a visit. Any time I have an emergency, I bring my cats to Angell, even when it's a longer drive for me.

Karen Harris: Angell in Boston is unparalleled in the quality of care given to several of our dogs. Their surgery department is outstanding, as is their emergency staff. During our recent emergency, the the ER vet called us twice daily, and in addition we received multiple text messages each day from one of their patient liaisons. I would not trust any other veterinary hospital to handle a serious illness with the competency, care, and level of communication which is their standard.

Constance: Awful experienceThey quite literally tested our bunny to death.The receptionist a black woman with braces ( no name tag) was horrible to us It only got worse. 3k dollars & 4 Days in the hospital and a WRONG diagnosis he was sent home. He was obviously still very sick we took him back within 48 They wanted a $4,000 deposit to start another round of testing. After the first test they wanted to euthanize him. We took him home. Our rabbit suffered needlessly through unnecessary & expensive tests at the hands of their greed & incompetence. Don't wait for an emergency and end up in a dump like this get a good exotics pet vet. Before you have an emergency and end up at the mercy of these people
Pamela Kaldi: My Peep goes into Angell at Nashoba every three months for blood work. The staff there treat him like a king. Believe me when I tell you he loves going there. Doctor O'Toole is always so kind and explains everything to me, in words I understand. I email Angell at Nashoba when my Peep has a flare up and needs to have his prednisone adjusted and they always answer promptly. Peep also has several prescriptions, when I call for refills they always process them that day.Thank you Angell at Nashoba for making Peep & me, feel like we are family; and not just some dog and another owner.I would / do recommend them to every one I know. Jasmine on the front desk is rude and I wouldn’t recommend a first time dog owner to talk to jasmine as she wouldn’t entertain any questions. They tricked me buying a rabies shot for my dog even though my dog is fully vaccinated for rabies which is good for 3 years. Another incident that happened is that when I booked an appointment they told me I have a free first physical exam but when I walked in, they did charge me for the physical exam and said that they can’t validate that promo anymore.

Tori Gardiner: Very rude staff. Not polite.They do NOT care about the animals that come into there care. Horrible customer service.My wife and I took our little cat in to get booster vaccines. Was not greeted when we walked in. they didn't tell us there names and they were not friendly. While we waited for our cat to get his shots. We were told to wait behind a blue line half way down an aisle. The man then came out, took our cat and yanked him out of his carrier. While they were doing the shot we were told to stay behind the blue line. We could not even see our cat..he then proceeded on to jab my cat very aggressively where it hurt my cat. My wife and I left very upset. Will never in our life go back to this place. Horrible staff. Do not recommend. They did not have a compassionate bone in their bodies.

Petco Vaccination Clinic: what do users think?
Eric Dyke: The Vetco in Quincy Center has been a very pleasant surprise. The online scheduling process is very easy. The reminder texts are well thought out so that most of the administration is completed before you step in the front door. Once you arrive, the staff and vets are organized and make for a very smooth experience. All the prices are listed on the website, the packages make sense and are easy to understand. All the receipts and records are emailed to you a few mins after the appointment.Dealing with the local vets in Dorchester and Southie has been a nightmare. They don't list any prices and the prices vary widely for offices within a half or quarter mile of each other. When they do tell you the price, it feels like negotiating with a car dealership. Some vets try to charge additional exam fees, some just gouge new customers. It was especially weird having to ask one vet for a hard copy of the vaccination records so that I'd have a copy. It's the first thing many doggie daycares and groomers ask for and the vet made it seem like my request was out of the ordinary.Feel free to do your own research, but you'll just learn to appreciate how friendly and transparent this Vetco is. We've been back twice and plan to keep coming back. The prices make sense and the experience is excellent. Getting your pet vaccinated should be an easy, quick and straight forward process like this.

No apology, no thank you, couldn't reach anyone at corporate office who cared. Manager couldn't be bothered to help either. Won't ever do business with petco again.
Brandon Gentry: Just don't. If you read one review, make it this one. Spend your money ANYWHERE else. It doesn't take much to please me as a customer. I don't have high expectations. This is a cheap vaccine clinic that, in a pinch, can probably be convenient. I didn't expect to be seen on time, and know that you get what you pay for. However, this was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had in a retail store. I received this message (see attached screenshot) at 10:16 AM for an appointment that was booked weeks in advance and scheduled at 10:42am the same day for two dogs' vaccinations. I was already at the location waiting in the parking lot for my appointment by the time I was notified of the cancelation. When I inquired with the store manager I was informed that Vetco is not affiliated with Petco (false - it's a wholly owned subsidiary of Petco) and when asking for contact information, I was told there was none, then directed at a toll free number I could have googled. After hours of being passed around by the call center, which appears to be offshored, I reached someone at Vetco customer service who forwarded my case to a supervisor for a callback. The supervisor left a voicemail with no callback number, suggesting that I reschedule my appointment for the following week since they had plenty of appointments - obviously failed to read the case notes or listen to the call. As a result of their negligence and horrible service, I'm out ~$1700. I had to blow the following ~5 hours, costing more than $700 in lost income taking two dogs to an emergency clinic, where I paid $600 per dog to be seen and have vaccinations done same day, as they were required for the kennel where my animals were to stay the following day. I would urge any and every person considering bringing their animals into this store or supporting this company to reconsider that decision and support a local vet who honors their appointments instead. I can't wait til the $3.2 Billion+ debt CVC packed onto Petco before the IPO comes due and we can say goodbye to this place for good. I feel bad for the unsuspecting store employees who are naive enough to think that an IPO means their company isn't one bad quarter away from bankruptcy 🤣.

Brackish Waters: Scheduled appointment nearly a month in advance, husband took a half day off work to facilitate getting our dogs vaccinations ahead of a 6 week business trip where they will be in and out of kennels and with family and other dogs. Vetco canceled the appointment with less than 20 minutes notice, by text message from someone's personal cell phone. Completely unprofessional handling. Several attempts to reach petco corporate and to contact the person who sent the text went unanswered. Customer service put us on hold for hours. In the end, we had to utilize an urgent care vet that cost nearly 6x the price per dog in addition to the lost income from taking the day off work, this incompetent organization cost us nearly $2000 instead of the approximately $200 we'd expected to spend. Never again.
