In Your Ear Records: what do users think?
Jeff Moore: Great low cost used records
Nathan Libby: Prepare to go down the rabbit hole.
Anthony Gordon: Great selection with fair prices
Palmer Eldritch: Miss them being in Boston but IYE is still one of the very best music and ephemera shops in New England. Between the two shops you will find music and media pretty much available almost nowhere else. They are a crate digger's and treasure hunter's paradise. Justin, Chris, and Reed are especially awesome too!
candace charpentier: Great collection of music and very knowledgeable staff.
Vitor Bovo: I've been to this store some 3 year ago. It was awesome! Unfortunately, I came back today and found this note on the door. They have moved to a different location in RI. I have notified Google and suggest that the owner does the same.
Tom Sampson: Great selection. Lots of great live stuff
Pei-Han Hsin: Good selection but the staff (not sure if he is the owner or not) was could be friendlier
Ben Price: This is more like a SIX star store! Clean, open, large store tucked away near the water. We were vacationing near the area looking for record stores to purchase new and used CD's. We were not having much luck when on our way home we discovered a store in a beautiful little town called Warren, in RI.The owner/ Manager was incredibly friendly and engaging. He was knowledgeable, approachable and professional. My son found several CD's and much more! As we were cashing out, we were given a free tote bag along with a personal gift to my son. I thought it was touching and made our already great experience even better! I would recommend this record/CD/music store to all!! A++++++
Konstantinos Karaoglanis: By far the best record store in Boston
Oliver Narragansett: Awesome record store, tons of interesting old records, tapes, and media. Even random promo stuff as well. My only regret is finding out about this store only just now, wish I found out about this store sooner and that this location wasn't closing soon.
Brian McDonough: Place is awesome
Jennah Hyppolite: garage sale style with very little organization, definitely not accessible
John Ryan: Great assortment of records and CDs covering a range of genres and eras, as well as dvds, tapes, books and off kilter delights. Relaxed vibe, encouraging customers to peruse as long as they like.
Chantaya King: My kind of record store! There are plenty of records to dig through at In your Ear Records! The owner is friendly, welcoming and full of wisdom! It like a sea of records, but well organized.
Zackary Schnitzer: This place is the epitome of a hole in the wall shop. The records are excellent along with the friendly staff. This is always a great place to visit to so some record browsing while in Boston.
John Carbonaro: Was only there once. Found several small groupings of my interest: “Boston bands”( Flies, Volcano Suns…) Indie/Prog/Electronica ( 1st Interpol LP, Chrome 12” Magnetic Fields LP’s). Plenty of 90’s U.S. 45’s and some U.K. 45’s. Worth checking out.
Devin Petersennn: Can be a little intimidating at first, but the overall atmosphere and environment of the store is amazing. It is absolutely overflowing with records, musical equipment, everything you could think of. Owner and the employees are great, not even gonna mention the extremely cheap prices. 10/10
Joshua Lieder: I was just in your store Sunday 430 pm and watched in horror as the man at the cash register took off his mask and sneezed twice violently into the air and then put his mask back on. Is this how you treat your customers? Revolting and potentially unsafe. Disappointed as I had two jazz vocalist albums I wanted to buy....but wasn't sure I wanted to possibly die for. I had driven a long distance to your store too.
Crystal Gonzalez: Place was great 👍
Joe Blair: Massive selection and a Boston landmark.

Looney Tunes: what do users think?
Aidan Richman: Good prices, wide selection, and an interesting conversation guaranteed.
Magenta Jasinski: Extremely crowded and smelly, which was super distracting from finding something I would want to buy. Most vinyls were overpriced - I passed over one that was $9 here and $5 at Village Vinyls in Brookline. The man working harassed us and was supremely unhelpful. Wouldn’t go back considering we don’t know what was under the HORIZONTALLY STACKED (!!) piles.
Richard Zhang: Very cool place, owner actually took time to make recommendations and play records.
Scott Quinn: Temple of tunage that is packed with musical history, including a proprietor that is out of his mind in a great way, and very may well be the biggest music nerd there ever will be.
Cale Martie: Amazing shop with amazing company. Extremely cozy place for a nap as well : )
Robin Beaulieu: I'd visited for the first time in 2020 after walking by on numerous occasions. The owner is down to earth & very knowledgeable about vinyl & many music genres. It's in the basement of the building & very retro. Call ahead because some times he has to be called away on other business. A very cool place to find rare & obscure vinyl.
Justin Wood: Excellent store with terrific selections, Pat is simply the best! Do yourself a massive favor and stop by whenever you can!
M H T: Awesome store. Fair prices.
Tim Harry: Really cool record store, great prices. Can find some seriously cool/rare/random albums here. Definitely worth checking out. They are cash only!
Steven Reed (OFFICIAL): Very nice and welcoming owner. Great selection
Avery Schneider: Pat is an absolute sweetheart. The shop is stocked with great music and the vibe is so comfortable. All the folks I’ve met who worked there are super friendly and they know their stuff, and it’s a ton of fun to dig through boxes and find cool music you might only half remember, the collection is wide!If you’re in Allston, you have got to check out Looney Tunes and if you’re not in Allston, it’s 1000% worth the trip. Not just records, I’ve gotten some great CDs for excellent prices. If you care about physical media and want to buy from really great people, go hit up Looney Tunes!
Jo Dutilloy: I can get lost for hours in this place. You get the whole local shop experience with a huge selection of both records and cds including the wealth of experience, expertise, and enthusiastic music conversation from Pat. The trade off is limited space to move around in and somewhat unpredictable hours but it's well worth it
Irene Shapes: Very comfortable vibe!!! Pat is just the sweetest guy in the planet and he knows everything about the record industry. His place has character and you can’t find anything like this anywhere else!!
Christian: The curator of this place certainly knows a lot of music history. I had a great talk with him on classical music history, mixing, movie soundtracks and so much more.
Vitor Bovo: Lots of records available! The owner is a great guy and super helpful. Will return after he gets more 12" singles!
Alyssa Sierra: you can easily get lost in the most fantastic way. this record store has ANYTHING you can imagine. The guy has infinite knowledge on a wide variety of music genres. A great place to spend some time looking around
Marcia nascimento: I purchased my first vinyls here and I am absolutely happy! The nice man who works there (Patrick) is very passionate about music and always loves to have conversations about interesting topics. He lets you play a vinyl/CD that you are looking at so you could hear before you buy it, and he cleans them too! There are so many hidden gems that are super affordable. I bought 3 vinyls and 2 CDs for $30 today, I was overjoyed with every experience that I had there. I totally recommend! Definitely will be the place that I always buy music from 😁.
Tyler Kinnear: A true record store! Pat is a character, in a good way, and is knowledgeable about music and audio fidelity. There's a great selection of used albums across genres (esp jazz, rock and classical) and there's also a spattering of new/repress albums.
Jiayin Song: Great selection of records and Pat is a lot of fun to talk to 😃 Highly recommend!!
Eric Chen: Genuinely an unforgettable experience. Pat is such a fun person and knows his stuff! Will definitely be coming back soon.
E Hazen: What a gem! Hadn't been in for a few years, and was really glad I stopped by. The owner is a bit of a character but very knowledgeable, and the collection is by far the best in the Boston area. Prices seem pretty reasonable to me-- I bought 4 albums and payed less than ten each. He does stock new also and obviously those are more.

vinyl index.: what do users think?
Daniel Place: Awesome shop for all your vinyl needs. Knowledgeable staff are always playing great tunes and can help you any way they can. The shop is very bright and clean, and you can even get a drink while you browse! They have a pretty good selection that they update frequently, a lot being brand new
Chris Berg: Great experience today. Picked up a a few lps today just inside the front door. New used. Great assortment. Owner very knowledgeable and helpful. This was my third shop this week. Pricing was great for used lps Other local shops are not as “cheap”. Will go back next week
Jonathan C: always love dropping in to vinyl index. phenomenal selection, great jams, incredible service, advice, and insight -- and now drinks too! Highly recommended.
Maddie: First record store I’ve been to that has a rewards program. They have a very varied selection. Most new records, but some very nice used in good condition, you can tell each record that is used is cleaned on a machine. They have a lot of new indie and hip-hop at good prices!
Daniel Gorbunov: Best vinyl in Boston area, with a great selection of new records. It’s a beautiful and clean store with a really kind and knowledgeable owner. I have been to every other store in the Boston area and no one matches the vibe at Index. The records are a surprisingly good price, right around MSRP.I was blown away when I first came here with the great selection of Electronic and House LPs (which are pretty hard to find in the area). They also have a great jazz collection. I took home some releases from some small niche favorite labels of mine that I was thrilled to find in person.
Harry O.: Owner was very kind and knew a lot about the music there, which gave us a nice conversation to have! Prices for new EP's was about 10-20$ less than Newbury Comics. A five star place all around!
Carl Christel: Walked for an hour just to find the opening hours on Google don't match the stores opening hours.
Kjkjkj jm: fav record store so far
Nick Fernandez: Great selection
Daniel Wolfe: Hands down my favorite vinyl shop in Boston, #1 for hip hop and a good supply of other genres. Good mix of new and rare used gems.
Alex Butler: Very friendly, knowledgeable staff - a gem tucked in the upstairs corner of Bow Market
Giovanni Maria Troiano: This is a great shop for vinyl aficionados! The staff is super kind and it's always a pleasure to chat with them about music. Support them! 🙏
Zachary Faugno: One of my favorite local record shops, the owner is awesome and always gives good recommendations.
Michael Kainer: Nice little vinyl shop. Good amount of selection and atmosphere. If you look around you can find some really good deals, especially if the artist isn't very well known. I walked out with about 7 records for 35 bucks.
rodolfo ponder: This guy went way and above what any vendor should do to make my experience wonderful. Beautiful store, run by outstanding humans.
Jamin Kidd: Owner is very knowledgeable, especially about hip hop
Devin Walker: A gem in union square. Index has the best hiphop vinyl collection in Boston. Conveniently open until late!
Carol Rocha: Great store.
joe oldham: 7L and company has a crazy selection of classic and obscure records at great prices
eric hellzen: Visiting from out of town and someone online suggested this place if I like hip hop. So glad I listened to them. It’s a smaller shop but they have quality!! I’ll leave it at this. if I lived near here, Id be broke and they’d have no inventory. Thanks for making a Minnesotan feel welcome in Boston!

Deep Thoughts JP: what do users think?
Desman Lopes: Cool place
Bill Dougherty: The alt fringe, such as it is, may be found at this relic. Visit! Bookstore downstairs.
Chris Sawyer: Always a lovely time
Lua Frontczak: Such a cool store! They definitely lean towards certain types of music, but with a ton of $3 records there’ll always be a cool weird find.
Alex C: Eclectic little record store, and more. A good selection, and range of genres (always happy to see punk/metal represented!) and other intriguing knick knacks and clothes, etc. Some older tape players, etc., for the nostalgic. And let's talk about the shop itself. Very interesting to just look around. The staff was very friendly too. Most certainly worth a stop if you're in the area.
Joe Ahearn: A portal to record world, extra marinated. Came for the basement jams, got lost in all the layers of tape and paper.
John copeley: Great shop...just dont park across the street in a very open inviting parking...unless u wanna give the tow company some business
Alex Blakeman: My favorite selection at any record store in the region!
Alan: Without a doubt one of the best record stores in all of New England. Everything -- and I really mean EVERYTHING, from the records to the CDs to the tapes to the books -- is interesting and worth a look. Beautiful vibes, beautiful music. Cannot recommend it enough.
Ray Waldron: Best record store in the Boston area by far
Michael Wade: Awesome record shop...all you need to say
PEACHES satanicLawnmower: Very rude
Liv Campos: I. Just feel like home all the time all go there. And the owners are attentive and lovely! Gratitude for all the wonderful extraordinary moments!!! Love uuu
David Hanley: Great place! All genres of music well represented, and lots to choose from. Prices very reasonable and some items were super inexpensive. Atmosphere was chill and shop very cool! Nick was very friendly and helpful. Went in for a look and came out with a Santa bag full of LPs, CD's, cassettes, books and swag 😎. Highly recommend
Joze Gonzalez: Love it there! New spot for me but won't be for too long!
Jeff Gulati: Cool psychedelic vibe and friendly guy working there. Very good selection of new records with focus on mainstream rock, indie, and folk but they have a little of everything. Not much used and what they have go fast but still managed to find a couple. They also have cool t shirts. I will go again for sure if I am in the area.
Royisha Young: Great record store, always something new. You can find old albums either new or loved a lot
Arielle Goldhaber: Came in and scooped up a ton of Sun Ra. This little spot is extremely cool, with more than new vinyl -- there's something for everyone and if you are dedicated to rummaging through the stacks, you'll find something (or a lot of things) that are AWESOME. Love the way the store is organized. Cozy and easy to browse. thanks!!!!
Andrea Mangini: So many gems... I didn’t find what I originally came looking for but I found plenty of things I didn’t know I was looking for.
Taylor Gould: Great selection, stuff you won't find at many of the other stores in the greater Boston area. Friendly staff. Good vibes.
Keziah Schober: Its a really fun place, it has a great selection of records. I'm particularly fond of the one dollar bins!

Stereo Jack's Records: what do users think?
Elizabeth Walsh: Great deals on CDs. Nice staff
Marianne grandmont: Great thanks again
Chris Berg: Just got back into my vinyl collection. Went here for the first time 1/12/23. Picked up a few lps. Stones sucking in the 70s. 7.99. Great price Went to two other shops one on mass ave Cambridge. The other Somerville in an ally. The first shop was 14.99. Wasn’t so cheap O. The second 12.99. For the same lp. I know condition is revenant. But outta these three shops. This place was the best. Just opened September. Next to Lindell’s bakery Christoper has a great attitude. Thanks for playing Jeff beck on the day after his death. I didn’t get the owners name but he had no problem playing a track off the stones lp that looked scratched but it wasn’t a deep scratch. Played it for me no issues. I bought it. He also played another blues lp so I could hear the quality. The “cheap” used record store gave me an attitude about playing a lp that was 34.99. I walked out on them This place has all my business now. Great new used lp vinyl store in Massachusetts. Worth the drive
Zach Z: Tons of great finds at totally solid prices. Nice staff, good location. Will be back again, and again…
Zac Zaremba: Great selection for a smaller shop, reasonable prices and nice staff. Will definitely be a go to spot for me.
Jonathan: Superb store and one that couldn't be owned & operated by nicer people!!!
David Nugent: Great store with a huge selection of vinyl. Owned and operated by great people!
Len Wennerberg: Thanks again for all the good stuff over the years, Jack. Enjoy your retirement!
Sheel Patel: Great little record store with some hidden gems. Amazing selection of cheaper vinyls (the $1 bins are always fun to rifle through), as well as jazz and vocal albums. Staff is friendly and helpful. They do have a $10, minimum for credit cards, so make sure to bring some cash.
Terry Baxter: Nicely organized, reasonable prices, COVID plexiglass between facing browser bins to protect customers.
Barry Hensley: Small, fun record store. Jazz section isn't very big but had some good finds.
Aric Peterson: Good place to shop.
Worth Wagers: The best record store in town.
M.J. C.: The real deal. Knowledge staff, great selection.
Darwinsom: Nice location. Store is small. If you like Jazz it's The place to shop & learn
T C: Cheap records friendly staff
Saurav Majumder: Great collection of records and a very knowledgeable and helpful staff!
rugg 1999: Okay selection, lots of records for a dollar apiece, also a lot of overpriced reprints of classic albums.
Roei Tzur: Great place! Great prices. Check out the 1$ section. Definitely the best record store in cambridge.
Marie Matava: Great stuff. Will get Pontey Bone and the Squeze Tones some day....
Chad Fetyko: Okay place, wish they had more old (used) than new. Still cool little store.

Orpheus Performing Arts Trsrs: what do users think?
Carlos Mateluna: Extraordinario la calidad/cantidad y la atención .
James Wyper: Small but tightly packed below street level shop selling mostly classical CDs, vinyl records, books and sheet music. Almost everything is used. CDs are very keenly priced starting at a dollar and most boxed sets very cheap. Very strong opera / vocal range, and friendly staff when I visited. Most of the stock is good quality, major label releases. Musicals and DVDs as well.Update August 2022. As friendly and cheap as ever but they are going through a reorganization of their stock meaning that not all areas of the store are reachable (unless you're a lot thinner than I am). Still worth visiting - similar places in London have all closed now so support this store while you can.
Jiahua Liu: great
Ralph Mac: I performed there!
Jacques Dupuis: Exactly what you want out of a used record shop. Hole in the wall, knowledgeable staff, wide selection. Love it all!
Luis Ortiz: I've been going to this store since I was 12 and in the 20 years since, the deals and bargains at this gem have remained consistent and the collection of used classical music recordings has never disappointed and has always been of the highest quality! Buy as many recordings and scores as you can to make sure stores like this stay open long into the future!
Dan Wheeler: Super friendly staff. Fun selection of opera scores and tons of other stuff. Some covers are a little beat up but the content looked great in everything I saw.
