Michele was an amazing manager and coordinator and took care of every detail. The food was exceptional. Our guests are still raving about the experience. A true Boston historic site with with an element of luxury and service that was top notch. Thank you Hampshire House for all that you do and preserving this historic site.

Joseph Goodliffe: If it were possible to give Hampshire House more stars, we would.After spending weeks researching distilleries, breweries, and restaurants around Boston, my husband and I finally decided to take a look at more “traditional” wedding venues around the city and what we found with the Hampshire House was anything but ordinary. From our first meeting to the last dance at our wedding, the staff at the Hampshire House went out of their way to make us feel like we were the only couple they were working with. How anyone plans a wedding without Michele is a mystery. Her and Karim’s attention to detail is unbelievable - absolute masters of their craft. Whether we were planning the menu or trying to figure out how to get a processional full of kids down the aisle, they were by our side bringing our wedding vision to life. When life threw us a curveball and forced us to postpone our big day, the compassion and empathy the folx at the Hampshire House showed absolutely blew us away and it was like no time had passed when we were ready start planning again a few months later. While the professionalism and service are reason enough to plan your wedding here, you can’t talk about this place without raving about the venue itself. Perfectly situated across from the Public Garden and nestled in Beacon Hill, you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque place to get married. The library is a stunning setting to say I do, and the whole house evokes a kind of historical warmth and charm you can’t find at any other venue in Boston. We also have to take a minute to mention how phenomenal the food was too. Every hors d’oeuvre and dish was perfectly made, and the staff even went out of their way to label everything for our guests with allergies. We feel so lucky to have been able to get married at here, work with the incredible staff, and share such a cool, historic venue with our guests. If you want a worry free wedding at a gorgeous venue with the best service you could ever ask for, do yourself (and your guests) a favor and say “I Do” at Hampshire House, you won’t be disappointed. Jenna Carlson: Hampshire House was mine and my husband's dream venue. The grounds are gorgeous; they simply cannot be beat. One of the things we loved the most about this unique space was the food offering. The moment we saw the menu, we were blown away. Our guest still rave to this day about how amazing their experience was, especially how outstanding the food items were. The passed hors d'oeuvre were exquisite, the first course was executed perfectly, and all entrees were cooked to perfection. What's even more amazing is the staff at Hampshire House, especially Michele. We began to plan our wedding 2 years out. Michele was with us for the entire 2 years, even when it was unnecessary at times. The teams is efficient, accommodating and so professional. There was never a time that I needed anything. I struggle now to put into words, just how absolutely perfect Hampshire House is. Our wedding was such a dream come true, and it would have not been possible without Hampshire House!! 100/10 perfection!

Angelique Markowski: We selected the Hampshire House for our wedding, because we loved the feeling of celebrating in an old-style mansion. The ceremony, dinner, and dancing were all held in the massive library, and it was gorgeous. They had fully working fireplaces for our cold November wedding, which really set the mood. Probably more importantly, the food was outstanding. Our family and friends are all foodies, and if the food was bad, we would have heard about it until the end of time. Instead, people could not get over how amazing both the cocktail hour food was, but also the dinner hour.While the space was stunning to begin with, one of the main considerations in picking this venue was the staff. Everyone was so helpful and attentive to our needs right from the start. They made the whole experience as stress free as possible. The Director/Coordinator, Michele Giacomozzi was amazing. She was always there to answer any questions we had or offer any help she could. Michele did an outstanding job the day of, left us feeling stress free and allowed us to live in the moment.We had so many compliments afterwards about the food, the beauty of the space, and especially the stunning views of the public gardens. We could not have imagined a more perfect day.

Everything from the venue, to the food, to the employees, and everything in between was perfect. Our initial meetings were with Alicia. She helped us pick what was best for us and what we truly wanted. We were then assigned our event specialist, Jenna Scali, who was also amazing! Both girls answered any emails I sent almost immediately and were always so helpful. The night of the wedding, everything ran so smooth. The staff who met us outside to bring us in and all throughout the night who were close by, were just so helpful and kind. I am so glad we chose this venue and would again in a heartbeat. Maddie Maddern: I literally had dreams about getting married here one day, and I got to do just that on August 13, 2022. This is the most stunning wedding venue in the entire city, nobody can convince me otherwise. It looks gorgeous in photos, but you literally can't imagine how breathtaking it is in person.If the views aren't enough, their events team is next level (particularly Amber). Now bear with me through this part, because there's a reason we're still giving State Room 5 stars (spoiler alert, it's our amazing wedding goddess Amber).We had a bit of a rocky start after we signed the contract (nothing to do with Amber). We signed the contract in May and then backed off for a bit since our wedding was over a year away. Around October, we were speaking with our florist, and he asked if we knew Carolyn (our former wedding specialist) had left. We didn't and nobody from the venue ever reached out to let us know. I immediately emailed both our contacts there and both people whose emails I had were disconnected and had no email forwarding set up or any message directing me to another contact. I called the venue 3 or 4 times before finally speaking with someone and they let me know both people had left and they'd let me know when we had someone new. I was now trying to plan a wedding (at a not-so-inexpensive venue) with no wedding coordinator.Cue Amber! A literal angel who just made every wedding dream come true. This really should be a 4-star review, but Amber is so insanely amazing that she leaves me no choice but to make this 5 stars because anything less wouldn't be a fair testament to her. I am the most Type A a person can be and Amber answered every email, call, and panicked carrier pigeon I sent her way. She went above and beyond when we had issues with other vendors or needed last-minute changes that probably weren't even on her to help with.100% would recommend booking the State Room for your wedding (even despite the challenges) because the staff really is in another league.Thank you for everything, Amber!!

Essentially Erynne: This venue is just absolute perfection & our coordinator Amber was a dream come true. She went above & beyond to make our day amazing; when things weren’t done to her standards or what she thinks I would want, she worked quickly to fix them, never needing to let me know there was even an issue to begin with so I could just focus on the day. Our food was AMAZING, the bar staff was fantastic, & the space was to die for. We will never be able to thank Amber or State Room/Longwood Venues for helping to make our day so memorable!

Additionally, once we started contracting with them, they made it all so easy! They even helped us source special Prosecco for our event. They were also extremely accommodating when we decided to postpone from February 2021 to 2022. We had Amber assisting us leading up to the event and throughout our wedding day. She was responsive, helpful, and truly an expert in her field. We were in great hands with Amber on our special day and everything went off without a hitch! We are so grateful to the State Room and their staff for making our wedding day perfect.

I'm a Boston wedding photographer, and I have the insider view on what weddings are like. The team here is top notch. They are professional, kind, and courteous. You won't go wrong with a wedding here. :)The coolest thing about it are of course, those panoramic views from up high while still being able to be in downtown city life! It’s remarkable what they offer here- so much detail and care has been put into this space that you can really see how much thought went into creating such an incredible place for your big day or special event.

Michelle Barra: Excellent views of the water. Food was very good. I had the chicken parm with penne. The chicken parm was very good but I did not like the red sauce used on the penne. I was with a group, so I took pics of their food as well. There is pasta primavera, steak tips with risotto, a fish dish, chicken parmigiana, and a delicious dessert with fresh fruit inside.

When you first walk in, it seems nothing special, but then you get to where the seating is, and it's lovely. This is a place you can dress up or dress down really. Very comfortable and relaxed environment, not stuffy even though it's classy. We had waterside seating. It was nighttime and still nice, but I bet during the day it's gorgeous! My friend wanted a chocolate martini, and although not on the cocktail menu, they made her one! It even had a chocolate rim with shaved chocolate that melted into your mouth as you drank. It was fantastic!!! I had their espresso martini, and wow, it was delicious. The bread basket was a bit meh, so we weren't sure how dinner would go. We did get appetizers, my friend the mushrooms, and I got the risotto balls. Both were excellent!! For dinner, she got the short ribs, and I ordered the lemon chicken pasta dish. Sorry, I don't have the exact names, but both were phenomenal!! The short ribs were so tender you could pull them apart with your fingers!! And my pasta was so perfectly cooked, chicken was tender and the sauce divine!! We both ended up cleaning our plates!! I wished we had room for dessert as they looked excellent as well! I was visiting from Milwaukee and my friend was up from the Vineyard where she's working.And shout out to our server, Roberto!!! He was very pleasant and attentive!I will definitely stop by again if I'm in the area!

Twitchy: Good place for late night food in downtown Boston. Arriving on a late flight into Boston, there's not a lot of full service restaurant options in the downtown area after 9 pm. At Bostonia Public House we had the hot lobster roll, pasta vongole and fish & chips. The food and service were very good. As an fyi, it does get pretty noisy once the live entertainment starts.

I tried to be fair and reach out to the restaurant first regarding a resolution, but all I got back was a form response asking for the check number, the payment info, and a list of ALL the items that were ordered. This was a very large group order, so I don't have most of that information. Because the restaurant didn't care to reach out in person to apologize, I'm instead uploading the photos here. If you dine at Maggiano's check to be sure that your food is cooked. If it isn't, and you get sick, don't expect the restaurant to take it seriously.

Just spoke to John McGinty who is apparently in accounting and has been receiving emails and calls as has Jacqueline, for months. He was incredibly rude, interrupted me and was not listening or concerned. Clearly I was a bother to him. I was absolutely stunned at his response when I told him that due to the poor service and his behavior I would not be referring anyone to BCC. What did he say? " That's fine" I was so shocked I asked him to please repeat what he said...and he did. Absolutely inexcusable. I'm sorry we ever were members and will certainly be sharing my story of John's behavior with anyone.

Stacy Horn: My clients celebrated their wedding at Boston College Club this past weekend and as a wedding planner based in Michigan, I was so impressed, not only with the attentive service and helpfulness of the staff on the wedding day, but also with the responsiveness and helpful insights thru the booking and planning process. Brianna and Anna were exceptional and truly, the whole team was amazing. Also, that skyline view moving from daylight to sunset to night is just unparalleled. Highly highly recommend!

Josh Hwa: Waited over 2hrs with family in tow at Santa Brunch for a meal that never materialized. Left without eating. Only received an apology/explanation after telling the staff we were leaving/couldn’t wait around any longer. Was told the club would follow up later that week to make it up to us. Waited a couple weeks to hear back before posting this review. Never heard back. Poor/unresponsive customer service. Waste of an afternoon. Never again.

Lauren Renfro: Visited for a team lunch, was blown away by the service and views of the city. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, and super helpful in choosing drinks/food. Definitely recommend the crème brûlée - berries and cream and sugar always make for a tasty treat! Hopefully we’ll visit again! Would love to explore more around the floor and look at the paintings, sculptures, and antiques they had around. COVID protocols also set my mind at ease, masks were required when not seated at the tables and the staff wore theirs as well.

Fania Naccour: We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the BC Club (Group of 12 adults). Brianna was incredible. She took care of the details from decoration, to personalized signs and menus. The food was incredible and the view is stunning.

Ann Flores: We had our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner at BC Club and it was amazing from beginning to the end. We were suppose to have event in 2020 but had to reschedule due to Covid-19. The BC Club was so understanding and reserved the following year for us and applied our deposit to 2021. Brianna was our planner from the club she was a delight. She was professional, understanding, and most importantly organized. She understood fully what we wanted and implemented accordingly. We used the harbor city view rooms and they were magnificent. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and made to feel like the most most important guests. The attention of the staff was exceptional. The bartenders were efficient and the wait staff were above and beyond. The cocktail hour was flawless and passed hor d’oeuvres were plentiful, no guest needed to seek them out. There was never a line to wait for a cocktail. The dinner was exquisite and the staff was so attentive to all guests. We had guests with allergies and the staff made sure they were receiving the correct meals. All in all I would highly recommend the BC Club to anyone looking for a special place for a special event.

With the ever changing COVID guidelines, Brianna and her team were incredibly proactive in reaching out to us and clearly communicating what, if anything, we would need to change. She was very responsive and very easy to work with. Aside from that, the venue is beautiful, the views of the city are absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious! We would highly recommend The BC Club for any rehearsal dinner, wedding, or other event!

She helped us plan and set up everything for our big day. The venue was incredibly beautiful and the food was also delicious. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this venue.

Brianna Fries and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make sure the night was nothing short of perfection and thought of so many amazing details that I never would have.

Clara Q: Great location with great service and a pretty good / varied selection. The four star rating is because if you want to have lunch with a group of 10 or more you have to select from a prix fixe menu at $50 per person which was a bit much for those of us who simply wanted to get together and bid farewell to a colleague. Fortunately (or unfortunately) only eight of us were able to make and we enjoyed the regular menu.

Louise Venden: Drinks are puny, service staff friendly, salmon frozen before cooking, not fresh, and monkfish and duck were very good. Gnocchi was sautéed stiff, baked Alaska a disappointment..rock hard ice cream with torched meringue coat. Great atmosphere, so why not deliver reasonably sized drinks and good food.

Kaity Moore: Pros: Good service, nice interior design, decent pricing and an excellent focaccia appetizer. I also had the citrus salad which was lovely but unfortunately the salmon I added onto it was a bit overcooked. (Edit: it seems my salad was missing the goat cheese and snap peas (picture below)...Not sure if this can still be considered a "pro" but nevertheless, I still enjoyed it.)Cons: I went in eager to try "The Alchemist" but was told we couldn't order cocktails, only beer and wine or one of three mocktails with a shot of liquor added (is that not exactly what a cocktail is?) As for food cons, my date had the za’atar chicken kebab which has left him with presumed food poisoning.Overall not a bad place and maybe they were just having an off day, I get it! Still, don't foresee us returning.

Jennifer Banks Oldfield: Greatly enjoyed our meal and visit. The service was good and the dishes very flavorful and good sized portions. We enjoyed the butternut agnolotti immensely as well as the trio of dips:hummus with caramelized onions, harissa and feta, and eggplant with toasted pita chips, and garlic lemon roasted broccoli. We tried the baked Alaska and the pumpkin crème brûlée. Looking forward to another visit next time in the area.
