AALIS: Variety of selections in term of running gear. Mostly shoes, but it also provide shirts, acceries, other stuff, running related.Staffs are excellent, very helpful. They act as a consultant to help us find the best decission suits our running need in the store.They have those machine that helps to determined your foot type so it can give recomendation of best shoes type suits you the best.
Alex Bernstein: what can I say, when you need new athletic shoes there’s no one that comes close. All the staff were friendly and professional, Christina explained what the measurements from their machines translated to and had me in and out with a perfect fit in no time at all.

Charlotte Laane: DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, they have no knowledge on shoes for your goal, injuries and how to perform feet analysis. Buy the shoes you researched and try the shoes for 30 days, their customer service regarding changing shoes within 30 days is a GEM and makes up for the wrong advice.Elaboration;Have been helped by two people from the staff. They are unable to give you good advice. They gave me an unexperienced runner, training for a marathon, a zero drop shoe! That is the last thing you would give to an unexperienced runner especially when they are training for a marathon. Moreover, the analysis of my feet was off. I've had insoles for flat feet as long as I can remember and the first neutral shoe they advised me gave me posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and Achilles issues. The second time I came in they stuck with the advice for the shoe I currently owned with no heel-to-toe drop and no correction, even after I told them the issues I got with these shoes. Fortunately, I didn't listen to them, got shoes with extra heel-toe drop and correction with extra! corrective insoles which resolved my injuries.
Brenda Guan: I had a great experience here. I got my feet scanned here, and based off those scans I was given several recommendations. They made it easy for me to find a pair of great running shoes and everyday shoes that fit my specific needs and preferences. This is one of those places where you feel comfortable buying whatever they say you need because they obviously know what they're doing.

Talk about great customer service! As a novice runner, I am confident I was provided the perfect shoes to tackle my training and even given some advice along the way. Thanks for helping me prepare for my first marathon!Original Post:I do not recommend. I visited three years ago and had an amazing experience - but went back in October looking for new shoes as I am training for the Marathon again. The employee who assisted me was inattentive and clearly more interested in getting credit for purchases than helping me. At one point she blatantly left to help another customer while I was in the middle of talking to her!The only reason I didn’t leave was because I was in dire need of shoes - but now that I’m four months into training, my feet have been uncomfortable more than in the past and I have developed a terrible blister on my toe, which is a clear indication of poor fitting shoes. I believe some employees can be helpful, but they should do a better job screening in their hiring process especially when tailoring to clients running major distances. It should not be “luck of the draw” in who is helping you that day.

David Chea: On the plus side, they now have their own sign instead of a print out on the previous establishment's window. Downside, it was busy on a Saturday morning and my mum got a headache waiting. We came here specifically to get her shoes since doctor had specifications for her feet. She did find shoes that she wanted, but wanted to know about other colors options. Staff never got back to us.As for me, I got sunglasses and a new pair our shoes. I have been to another specialty shoe store that's smaller and their staff has their customer service down pat. I wanted to see if MS was the same as my first experience.
Sarah Weiskittel: Great place to go for running shoes & other gear! They offer a range of accessories and apparel (including lululemon), but that said, the shoes are where it’s at. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and committed to getting you in the best shoe. They started with a 3D image of my foot to confirm sizing and arch shape, then checked my gait for pronation, and moved on from there to try a few options. Very happy with my new training shoes!

Red “The Rocket” Staylor: Been to a lot of stores, I’ve bought a lot of things. Never have I been inspired to write a review. Tristan was nice and Ian was like a professor, educating me about nutrition, pronation, and best gear choices. Incredibly knowledgeable! They close at 7 based on the sign, but I never felt rushed. I wish they had more in a size 14 but that’s a problem everywhere. Got some gear and look forward to my return visit. If you are a serious runner, you gotta get here!

David Truby: Genuinely a shop I wish I could provide more business. Its staffed and owned by runners with sports degrees providing expert choice on picking the correct shoe for you and your needs. I went in knowing my size and how to describe what my foot was missing or lacking, and they picked shoes that addressed that need. I had the luxury of having to choose between great shoes.

He was patient, understanding, educating, and funny…I tried on multiple pairs of shoes after having my feet measured by their technology…Ian heard my feedback and made changes accordingly…I got a great pair of shoes, without breaking the bank, and my training is so much improved…one of the best experiences, from a customer satisfaction point of view, I have had…thanks Ian—I’m off (and running) toward my 1/2 marathon!!

Brendan Bennett: Worst display of customer service I have seen in a long long time. My friend and I walked into the store, and the 2 employees behind the desk did not even look at us when walked in. No form of greeting or acknowledgement whatsoever. With that, I made my decision that this store did not deserve the sale. They lost two paying customers yesterday.

Xylene Graves: Super patient staff and quite friendly. I was looking for the most stable and supportive sneaker manufactured for the 2018 running season and for my "flat as a board foot." (My description not theirs.) Shoe shopping is a chore and a half for me, so I was there for a little more than an hour, trying on every "most stable" sneaker with various orthotics, including my own. They must have made 5 trips to the basement for me and offered to order me at least 2 different models of shoes that they did not have in the color or/and size that I wanted or needed. They also called the Newton store to have a pair put on hold for me, for if they needed to be sent to the Boston store. In the end, I got the last pair of sneakers I tried on, more an hour later, and they stuck it out with me. Thank you!!The selection is rather small, if you really need motion control and supportive shoes, but if you are a typically footed person or runner the selection is great and high quality while not being overwhelming with too many choices.There is no New Balance because New Balance has its own stores around Boston.All sneakers are geared toward running and in adult sizes.Store is not wheelchair accessible.

Michael Schroeder: Had a shirt with a seam that came out. No big deal. I told them about it, they sent me a digital code for a gift card to replace it. The code was for $58. That’s $10 less than it would cost to replace the shirt ($68) and they were going to charge me $10 shipping on to of that. So, my $68 shirt that fell apart becomes an $88 shirt. I asked them to either increase the value of the code or just send me a replacement. They agreed to send a replacement, and 10 days later it still hasn’t shipped. I contacted them again, and they’ve replaced the order but I still don’t have an order summary or any idea when to expect the replacement shirt. For a $68 tee shirt that fell apart with a handful of used, I’d expect much better service.It would be a one star review, but it’s a great shirt. Ran Eau Claire Marathon in it and it was great.

Scott M: *Updating to 5 stars - it appears I had a bad batch or something. They offered to fix or replace the items.I want so so badly to love Tracksmith. Their designs are second to none...but I've had issues with their quality. Two pairs of running pants have already started splitting at the seems less than a year into owning. I have a pullover that is also showing a lot of age with stitching coming undone after very little use. If they can improve their quality they would literally get all of my money, but I can't keep buying from them after my last few experiences.

Eric Li: Owner and workers are very helpful with picking out your shoe. They use a machine to measure where the pressures are on your feet and let you try on different shoes that would support your activity and comfort and go for a quick run outside in them. They don’t rush you at all and want to make sure you get shoe you enjoy at the very end.
Gideon Coltof: Great runners shoe store, probably one of the best in New England. Localy owned and the reps are all very knowledgeable. While not a discount store, the prices are certainly competitive and I always come here to buy my running shoes. Buy local!
Boston Irish2009: Ok I love shopping BRICK & MORTER & this store is the reason .......Nora welcomed us with a big smile and REMEMBERED us for 6 months ago! The whole staff is super friendly and any are great but Nora knows her product. My niece tried on different sneakers to prove she still loves HOKA's and Nora totally made all the choices and suggestions..... my husband did the same and we left with two pairs. CHEAPER then on line and amazing customer service.
Jamie Van: I had a very positive experience here, I was immediately greeted by Patrick and was asked if I needed any assistance. I mentioned I was hoping to find the right shoes for work. Right away, he analyzed how I walked and we used the Aetrex scan to determine the best shoes for me. Very knowledgeable and brought out different options and we found the perfect shoe for me. Overall experience was amazing, I never felt uncomfortable or not welcomed (since I mentioned it was for work and not running). Definitely recommend going if you’re trying to find the right shoe!

The shop is small, but had a good selection of shoes and running accessories.
Rachel Abbate: I am completely thrilled with my experience at Marathon Sports! I got fitted for a pair of running shoes about a month ago after putting off the shoe search for quite some time. Shopping for athletic shoes simply put, intimidates me, but Anna made my experience fantastic. She went through a few tests prior to bringing over multiple pairs of shoes for me to try on. She was patient and thorough, yet efficient at the same time. I've honestly been much more active due to being properly fitted, and I'm much happier as a result!
SLR: I bought a pair of running shoes from here today. Great shop. They were busy, but they had enough sales people (not like, one person trying to handle it all) so I felt like I got a lot of very focused attention without too much wait. I was looking for a totally different shoe to address my new pandemic foot problems and the salesperson gave my five or six good suggestions. I also appreciate that they allow exchanges or store credit within 30 days if the fit doesn’t work out. I’ve bought shoes that felt great in the store but ended up being a bad fit for workouts, and have been out of luck. I’ll definitely make this my running store here in Boston.

Sheel Patel: Marathon Sports is the place to go for anything related to running/walking/healthy feet! As someone who just started running, I was a bit daunted to go at first, but Steve helped me from the moment I stepped in and was incredibly kind. I explained what I was looking for (beginner running shoes), and Steve gave me expert advice after watching me walk and analyzing my feet/pressure points on a very comprehensive machine. He kindly broke down what kind of support I should be looking for in a shoe, and brought out 3 solid shoe options with an additional insole option as well. He answered my questions and showed me other shoes I was curious about, and gave me advice on other running gear as well. It never seemed like he was in a rush and helped me for at least 30 minutes until I walked out with a fairly priced pair of Asics. I look forward to going back and urge anyone who is looking for a pair of athletic shoes, for running or not, to work with the expert Marathon Sports staff.

The salesperson was very knowledgeable and patient, and helped us pick a pair with good stability and cushioning. Patrick McKenna: Always have what I need when I go in. In an easy place to reach in Cambridge over near Central. Parking outside on the street is always available if needed. Staff is always helpful, and full of answers for any easy or technical questions you may have. They do host runs from time to time as well. Free stickers at the register.

Mary Sedlak: I walked in to ask about whether or not trail running shoes were required for a trail marathon marketed as friendly for beginners while on a walk, and I was so pleased to find that 1) the staff member was incredibly knowledgeable and 2) he answered that no, they probably weren’t necessary, but explained what their options were and the pros/cons of each without pressuring me to buy anything.

I am a fairly new runner and was on my first running shoe replacement; I scheduled a fitting appointment and based on our discussion and measurement, we agreed that an adjustment to my shoe size made sense. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the shoe sizing quite right (it happens); when I went to exchange for a different size, there was literally zero friction from the store. John McDonald: Not impressed with this store or it’s customer service. My husband purchased a pair of Hoka walking shoes in July for $160 and just six weeks later the shoe had developed a hole in the back of the shoe. When he went back to the store the sales woman would only say, “our return policy ends at 30 days.” She didn’t even say sorry for your inconvenience. I sold shoes for 10 years at Sride Right and for Clark’s shoes and if this happened there we would have apologized and issued another pair of shoes or offered a similar shoe free of charge. My family won’t ever be back to Charles River Running.
