Darwinsom: Everything I saw was in excellent to new condition. Despite being sold as previously rented furniture. We were told it was all steam sanitized which is the only treatment for bedbugs. We were told that this is why they can sell "used" mattresses.The prices were quite reasonable until you check online sources such as Wayfair. Yet here you can try things out. Like Home Goods etc. Can't say anything was comfortable except for one OMG chair.This would be a perfect place to stage a condo.My friend was highly motivated to buy a loveseat and liked the idea of being able to sit on it.The salesman was very nice greeting us but with each question he was casually difident responding that "he didn't know." this despite his being told that she had a specific possible maximum length. Questions about all other measurements were also answered with "I don't know" until we finally asked if he had a tape measure.During the entire time of our visit no other customers were present. Another employee could be seen hard at work at a desk & our salesman kept returning to his high work space do something.Moving is a fixed price of a low $120.00. Delighted he pointed out that that was for a whole living room set or to our loveseat. Well ok....didn't help us that was true.While my over motivated friend kept asking about the one (really poorly built loveseat. No tags showing where it was constructed, no warning labels, no measurements) and delivery time etc. at no moment did the salesman venture to help past jokes.I asked if I could take some photos to put online before we started shopping. I tried my best to take representative ones attached.Wouldn't go back.

Siddharth Parasnis: Javon provided the best customer service. When my house mate moved out we needed to replace a couch. I placed an order online but saw that there was a coupon I could have used. Javon was able to retroactively get me a significant amount of store credit for a sale happening on the site after I had already placed my order. It ended up being a complicated process but he was very helpful every step of the way to get me the most value for my purchase. This was all during a literal pandemic so it was completely online and over the phone. If you need furniture that is completely clean and serviceable but don't want to buy something new, this is the place.

Tamika Law: The customer service here is awesome. The programs they have for ppl exiting shelter programs are awesome. I recently got a bedroom set from here and I absolutely love it. So why 4 stars instead of 5 you ask.... well I received a mattress and a box spring set from here and it has a musty odor to it..I've checked for stains & bugs which I found none and I still have the original plastic on it but theres a lingering musty odor like smell to it... maybe it's the materials used to make it. I've recently purchased and encasement mattress cover hoping that'll helpOther than that their furniture is awesome. Very classy and well maintained

Evelyn: DO NOT rent from this company. Horrible experience from beginning to end. Sales representatives were awful to deal with and had major attitude problems.They were not helpful nor compassionate that we just lost everything in a fire. We ordered the top of the line mattress that fully sunk in after 6 months of use. We had to place folded towels in between the mattress and baseboard to keep it from sinking further. The sofa we got smelled like sweat and had several holes in the fabric. We had to get sofa covers. Overall I’d never rent from them again.
Lilly Diamond: Horrible will not rent again. The first time they set me up a broken chair, a bowed table and an uncomfortable bed, which ended up giving me severe back injuries and had to visit several chiropractors. I asked them to switch the bed out which they were borderline, incompetent and doing that and then trying to charge us a fee. They did not give us any heads up when they were arriving said they would be there on a certain day they never came that happened three times and then tried to charge us and outrageous fee. Second time was to fix the bed because the bed actually started squeaking pretty bad keeping us up which required a full bed switch. When the people came, the drivers came, they refused to give us half of what we needed for the bed after asking multiple times overall just a cluster definitely will not re-rent

Same problem I had the one other time I referred Ms Levine to a UMass Boston student exchange group that would have delivered her many many rentals. Not one referral. Done with these dirty players. Hannah Olhovich: Terrible service, for the rental. The staff is completarla incompetent and they have told me so many different things From different departments, they have made my life hell. On top of that, they are significantly over picked. During gently don't recommend for people moving to Boston. You can find so many better options, and unfortunately, I could not see them because I was coming from another county and knew very little about alternatives.

Mitchell Baker Thom Egan: Just, wow. Machine-Age is truly a one-of-a-kind store. Indeed, there are numerous antique and collectable furniture stores in our area, but nobody in my experience has the eye that Normand has. Machine-Age is incredibly well curated; everything inside is worthwhile and in fine condition. My husband and I recently completed our once-in-a-life home remodel. Previously, we were fans of discount furniture for the "bargain" and "value". As we were packing up our home to prepare for the remodel, our bargain furniture showed not only it's age, but the style of the furniture just looked tired and dated and everything was in bad shape. We gave EVERYTHING away. This time around, we wanted furniture that not only looks good and is comfortable, but also will stand the test of time. In other words, we want things that appreciate with time as opposed to depreciate and basically degrade into trash. It's a cliche, but true, that they simply do not make things like they used to. However, any shop is only as good as the people who run it. I have personally dealt with Normand on two visits, and have spoken extensively with Alicia over email. They both are charming to deal with, and seem to truly enjoy what they do. The combination of the personalities of the owners, combined with the personality of all the pieces they carry make shopping here a pleasure. If you enjoy classic furniture and home accents, this is basically a mini museum for early and mid-century design. We are so thrilled to have found them, and we have our eyes on a couple more things; you better get there fast! You will not regret it.

Nothing a few Clorox wipes won’t take care of. Then I saw the price. $150. I found another one that would have worked as well. $80. I kept looking and found a dining table that would work. The table was $100 and the chairs ranged from $40-50. I couldn’t believe the chairs were a separate price. All of this stuff is donated. Why do they need to make THAT much money? I can get a brand new coffee table for less than $75 and a dinette set for less than $250. This was my second time there and will definitely be my last.

Andrea Bakker: The ReStore was a huge find for me. I had one week to completely furnish a 1 bedroom apartment. I was able to find all of my furniture at the ReStore for about $600 total. There is a great selection - about 30 different couches, 30 dressers, tons of tables, kitchen chairs etc. so lots of selection to choose from. It was nice to be able to see them in person and pick your favourite. Reasonable prices and a discount if you bring it home the same day. They will reserve the item for 3 days if you pay. They even helped us pack our Uhaul so that we only needed one trip. The staff were patient and helpful. What a great environmentally friendly and convenient option. Lots of parking. It gets busy on Saturday so try to come early to get the best selection. So happy to be supporting this organization! A true gem.
wendy butler: Omg!!! Forgot about this diamond in the rough. It has everything you need from books, silverware, dishes, appliances, washer and dryers just to name a few. I found a beautiful 8 piece , cherry kitchen cabinets for 900.00!!! That made my day!!! I'm going back on a regular bc you never know what you might find. Nolan Flynn: They will purposely decisive you then say that it should have been done differently but wasn't. I got a cabinet that was 2 peices that were integral to each other and set up as a single unit. They told me I had to buy the second part at a ridiculously high price. The staff doesn't care and are too busy on their phones to want to help

Keegan DuBrown: I've only gone once (so far) but it was a positive experience. Staff was friendly. There were a lot of great looking dressers and dining room tables. Couches and armchairs were a little worn out looking.We didn't find the dining room chairs we wanted, but we did buy some kitchen wares and a book that all looked great.Seems like the type of place that has a lot of inventory turn-over. We hope to visit again soon.
donna ginyard: I was disappointed when I gave the cashier the money, he put my change on the counter. I waited to see him complete the next transaction and he gave the person back their change in his hand. I will not go back to West Roxbury store anymore.
