Gin A: Unfortunately this place looks nothing like the pictures. There were a bunch of signs on the windows so you couldn't see in, the lights weren't on, thought the place was abandoned until I tried the door. The door actually opened and then a guy out of sight said come in.. I looked around and it seemed like a bomb went off with stuff EVERYWHERE. Asked if they had any kind of inline skates as mentioned on their page, and he said Nope! And dismissed me. Didn't ask if I needed anything else or where I could locally find skates.I also needed wheels and a new helmet but clearly he didn't want to be bothered so I left.If you want to see the messiest shop, definitely take a peak and try and snap a picture! You won't believe it until you see it!

They got me a pair of skates that fit great and I was able to skate that night for a good price.will definitely go again if I need to rent skates.

He’s great with youth and children and takes the time needed to ensure good fit, sharp skates and even tips for skating. Added bonus: kids feet grow quickly so he’ll buy back used skates for trade in. Local gem.

They have a pretty large verify of skateboard components, complete long boards and a ton of sweet locally designed clothes. When you walk in everything seems very quality and the store itself is very well kept. Everything my friends and I have bought made us extremely happy with our purchase. I highly recommend you go there to shop and support them because skate shops have been having a difficult time in Boston with the pandemic.

Dragontea: I've shopped a Thuroshop for years (inline skater/Urban)! They're close to my state so when I found them, they quickly became a staple for me! Recently purchased a pair of rollerblade Twister XTs and they shipped them out lickity split and got them the next day. (Keep in mind I am around 4 hours away from the shop)They have some of the fastest shipping out of a lot of the inline skates I've seen in a while. The catalogue they have is impressive as well for, what I assume, is a smaller skate shop. I haven't been there, so I can't confirm. Also, when their sales are on, they don't play!

If they're short staffed, they're hit or miss. It's frustrating tbh but what's a shop to do? Can't fault them when good workers are hard to come by in a society where folks would rather sit at home on public assistance than work. Only so much a 1 man show can do.

Other than that one good employee there the vibe in there from the mangers especially was dark , no smile no good customer service especially at the cash register. If zumiez was to take some good advice get a new manager and remove the rude super controlling girl with blonde hair and glasses the place would be a lot better for it

Jazmyn Grissett: My black and brown sisters and brothers DO NOT SHOP HERE! If I could give 0 stars I would. I was shopping with my mom and sister looking for a Tshirt and bucket hat. I decided not to get the Tshirt and put it down. After making my purchase I was asked by not one but two different employees to produce the shirt that I did not buy. Once I said I put it down somewhere one of the girls went to look for the shirt while the other called mall security and Braintree police. Obviously They found the “missing” shirt. I decided to return my bucket hat since I was accused of stealing.. I never got an apology and they gave me a hard time returning the hat as well asking to produce identification for a purchase I made seconds ago. I will never give this store or chain of stores my business... worst customer service I’ve EVER experienced... especially being that I worked in retail for 5 years myself in that same mall.... unacceptable to say the least.

If you are looking for clothing, then it might work, but I think this place in Somerville will be better, maybe a matter of opinion, but for actual skateboards, go anywhere else! I choose maximum Hesh, but do research on the shops and go from there, just avoid chains, trust me!

Abby Tjie: Unfortunately I had a really scary and terrible experience when trying to rent from this shop. Amber had acted aggressively and was very unprofessional. As I was preparing to receive my rentals, my father had called the shop to inquire about prices, but Amber seemed to have gotten annoyed by the call and began to raise her voice and even used the f-bomb multiple times. After she had angrily hung up, she continued to yell at my mother and I who stood in respectful silence. This was not even an argument, I honestly feel verbally harassed. She aggressively ripped our rental application up in front of us, refusing to rent to us. I'm completely shocked by the experience and will not be returning.
Garrett Warren: Had an amazing experience purchasing my first wing foil board from Ocean House Surf & Skate! I browsed their inventory online and decided that day to check out their selection in person. It's hard to find a local shop with the latest wing foiling equipment. Tim walked me through the things I'd need to get started, and gave suggestions on where to surf in the area. Both Tim and Amber were personable, knowledgeable, and passionate about the shop's sports. Definitely agree that this shop is a hidden gem. The location makes it a great spot to get your gear and try it out. With beaches on both sides, you can always find an on-shore wind (very important for learning).
Jeff Laprade: Local North shore shops were all booked for ding repairs so I drove down to Nahant, brought a custom fish with some cracks in the tail in. I had called prior and they were sure they could have my board back to me, surfable, quick. And indeed they had quick turn around time, along with a beautiful fix and reasonably priced board repair. Very diligent and communicative staff let me know as soon as it was finished. Definitely a place worth supporting.
Andrew Benedick: The crew at Ocean House is amazing. I've now bought two boards from them over 3 or 4 years and couldn't be happier. Tim gives great advice on choosing a board and hasn't steered me wrong yet. Super chill and won't force you into something that won't work for you. He just wants you to be successful.They've got everything you need to get into surfing and to help you progress. Stop by, get your gear and go have fun. You won't regret it.

Kyle W: I recently visited Ocean House in search of a wetsuit, the girl working at the time was very helpful, and gave me some useful advice and found me what I was looking for. She was working by herself at the time, and it was a little bit hectic for one person to deal with alone. It was a beautiful weekend and the waves were pumping, but she managed to juggle the phone and a steady stream of customers all at the same time without neglecting anyone. It was really impressive and prompted me to write this review. Give that girl a raise. The shop was in a temporary location due to construction and parking was shared with a restaurant at the same location. The selection was also a bit limited, especially because it was the end of a busy weekend, but I was able to get what I came for and the prices were definitely fair and reasonable.

None were readily available but the owner took out a brand-new set of fins and sold me one. Great experience and will definitely be coming back.

They're very available to advise and chat but also give you space to browse. Tim just fixed a ding in my board and it came out beautifully (and speedily), and everyone was efficient and communicative from my email about an estimate to getting my fixed board out the door. Both Carissa and Ellen were very welcoming and eased the nervousness that I had coming into their shop. Carissa made the experience of my first tattoo a memorable one and I can’t speak highly enough of her and the shop. I truly felt like I was catching up with an old friend! This wasn't my first tattoo but I still appreciated receiving a small handout on tattoo after-care and Carissa made sure to go over this with me. Rebecca V: I went to home ice for a fitting and to buy skates. As a new skater I was nervous going into my appointment but my experience was so much better than I could have asked for. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and helped right way. The ladies were super friendly and created a comfortable environment. They took the time to explain things and were patient with me as I tired on several skates. You could tell they both were very knowledgeable about this field and truly cared that I found a pair I was happy with. After I picked the ones I wanted they were able to sharpen them so I was all good to go. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit, l didn’t expect that buying the perfect skates for me would be so easy.

atom tarragon: Love the shoes - always a decent price with great selection - but they don't carry common sizes for all the designs. My son wears a 10.5, which is very common, but the first 3 shoes he wanted to try on, they didn't have them, which was strange. He did end up with shoes he loves, but I feel that maybe the inventory management can be a little more diligent. No point in having a great selection if the size you want in 3 different styles is out. So one star off for that (reluctantly).However, the scarcity of sizes might just be due to the pandemic, so we'll cut them a break. Love the custom section and the up-and-coming designers. Especially love that Vans is and has always been bold enough to use fabrics other than leather and canvas in their sneakers (velvet, velour, corduroy, tweed, etc.). Still a great skater shoe, and a prime location in which to sell them.

owen pz: Sold me a warped board, when I realized it was warped asked if I could get it swapped out or in store credit but the staff said their was nothing they could do about it. Buyers be careful this is the first time I’ve gotten a warped board, but after talked to several friends it seems like this is a common occurrence with this location. Really sucks that they can’t even stand behind the products they sell especially when they are defective. In all my years of skating I’ve never encountered a skate shop that wouldn’t make the swap if they sold you a damaged board, making this a sad first for me. Wish I could give less stars.
