I looked everywhere for a team that could select the best equipment to satisfy my needs. Fortunately I found Sound In Motion. They handled all of my requirements and chose the best equipment available. They worked with me on every aspect of the install and when we ran into some problems with the equipment they continued to work until I was extremely satisfied. This team is well led and totally customer oriented. I can honestly say that I have never had the opportunity to work with such consummate professionals in my life. If there were 6 stars I would be giving them that rating. I will never use another company for my automotive needs!

I'm sad to report that after 15 years of trouble free use, the system needs to be removed because we are parting with the car. Yamil Kouri: All the one star reviews are jokes. This is hands down the only place you should take your car for any installation. They installed a remote starter for me and were extremely accommodating for my schedule. I then talked to them about tinting my windows and originally they couldn’t fit me in until June, then Jim gave me a call and was able to do it a month sooner. I cannot praise them enough. This place is professional and accommodating.

Joshua Yen: My experience with Sound in Motion has been magnificent. I had a custom sound system installed into my Tacoma back in March 2020. When I got the truck back, I looked inside and it was as if nothing had happened. It was an extremely clean install.I had Dynamat Extreme sound deadening installed in all 4 doors and the back wall of the Tacoma, as well as inside the subwoofer box. Everyone comments that the truck cabin is very quiet and is comparable to riding in a luxury vehicle, which is what really brings out the high quality speakers the SIM team put together. Everyone who hears the system says how "tight" it is, no buzzes or vibrations, even at low volume, and is mind blowing at higher volumes.There were a few tweaks we had to make, which is typical of high end sound systems, due to a faulty tweeter. The process of narrowing down the problem was time consuming, but the SIM team was stellar!In the end, I ended up jumping at the chance to go ahead and upgrade the front stage speakers. All I can say is wow, I’m so happy I did, unbelievable!!Jim, whom I dealt with, is a very professional, honest and fair individual. I would highly recommend Sound in Motion for all of your vehicle upgrade needs. They just moved to Watertown into an awesome space, I'm really happy for them.I’ll definitely be back for other work I’ll need in the future!I’m honored & pleased to have a sound system designed and installed by the Sound in Motion team!

Francisco Amado: I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Do yourself a favor - you can spend countless hours going to CNET, Wirecutter, WhatHiFi, Wired, AudioScienceReview, etc or you can talk to Dariusz. Read some of the negative reviews and that's simply not been my experience - he's not a "mansplainer" (he's an audio enthusiast who will share his opinion) and he's not a closet racist (I am black, I am super sensitive to establishments where I do not feel welcome and Dariusz has been anything but). Dariusz is knowledgeable, took his time to research my equipment and offered suggestions on how to change settings to improve it, and has actually talked me out of spending more money than I need to. Q Audio is now my go to place for audio equipment!!!

Even though the place don't have enough headphone amps for me to try, the owner gave me couple good suggestions on how I should be building my system.Since there's not many people in the store, the owner let me audition speakers comfortably for almost 2 hours using my favorite music (as long as you can find it on Tidal). I can even try speakers that's way out of my budget. While I am auditioning the speakers, the owner was happy sharing his opinions and answering various questions that I came across. (This is a much better experience compared to Magnolia listening room in bestbuy, where I can only play a couple minutes of music of their choice to me, and will immediately pressure me into buying their product).However, this place can be busy at time, so if you need more time and help on speaker systems, it will be better to find a less busy time to visit, so the owner (who is knowledgeable and helpful) can better assist you.

Simply put, Q Audio will be the first place I go when considering new stereo equipment.

bornagain bornagain: I have been building a new home theater for about 3 years and have finally finished. I started out getting a bunch of old speakers on Ebay and Craigslist. I am a big ADS speaker fan. I went through several different models and settled on the L1290/2s. I got two pairs and built a center channel cabinet and purchased new drivers and a crossover from Rich So. I got fed up with the AV receiver that I was using to drive them, it had too little power. I had an old stereo amp a Nikko Alpha 440 and got an idea that I could buy more of them off of Ebay or Craigslist and then put together an all seperate theater with alot more power. I contacted Dariusz and asked him if he could rebuild these amps and he told me he worked on them for years and it would be no problem. After several bad purchases I finally got one he could repair. I got all my money back from Ebay on the amps that were unrepairable , and decided to purchase a new 5 channel amp that was both powerful and had high current capabilities, and a new preamp as well so I could upgrade to Dolby Atmos. The preamp I got from Dariusz was an Anthem AV60. I was going to match that with a Parasound amp and at the last minute Dariusz got a hold of an Anthem P5 used. I asked him to hold on to it for me and without a deposit he held it for me. I have been into stereo gear since the late 60s and always could only afford mid fi gear. I have read all the magazines so I do know a little bit more than the average consumer. The rebuilds of the old Nikko amps was flawless. Dariusz even swapped all the speaker terminals on one amp so they would all be the same even without me asking. He is very busy and it was extra work so I didn't ask him to do all 4 but he did it anyway and I was very happy. I watched him teach customers while I was waiting, I watched him repair minor issues on gear that people carried in right on the spot. One turntable got fixed just for the price of the parts. The sound of my new theater now is incredible, I have all the power my speakers need and then some. He did get a little flustered after bringing him one junky amp after another but never told me he couldn't help. I have finally got the theater of my dreams, awesome power, clarity, dead quiet signal to noise, I am hearing all kinds of new music on my recordings and movies. If you love music, and movies with surround sound you really should let Dariusz help you get the right gear. I feel so fortunate that I found him to help me put together an incredible system. Highly recommended.

Tomas Svitil: Dariusz is the man! He is very professional, responsible, and responsive. He sets the right expectations, doesn't overpromise, and he delivers on what he does promise. I had a power amp that was going into safety mode constantly. When Dariusz was ready to take on the work, he let me know, and then fixed it in 2 days. His prices are very reasonable, he does not upsell or overcharge, he does what needs to get done to fix the issue. He is very passionate about his work and it shows. If you have the time, you can spend hours talking with him about audio and come out much smarter for it.

Ed: Dariusz is the phono-whisperer.Super friendly and very reasonably priced for the quality of service and product delivered.He quickly and expertly installed and calibrated an Ortofon Blue cartridge on my Rega P2. Queenie Balasingam: I have a 5 cylinder , 5 speed manual vehicle a car alarm place that put in a pretty decent stereo in my car offered to put a remote start car alarm in my car, but upon seen the 3 peadals and the gear shift they said sorry we dont know how to install a remote start on this vehicle. They did have a waiting room, (something Boomers does not have.)I went to to Boomers they assured could install an alarm for me . It was a bit more work than for an auutomatic. They worked on it for quite a bit. Ive been delighted with this alatm ever since it was installed.

When I informed the worker that I was a woman he told me that I was covered up so it didn’t matter and didn’t even apologize. I’ve been coming here for years and spent over 2,000. There is no need for poor customer service. On my most recent car I have gotten tints already but this particular incident happened for the remote starter.

I took a brand new vehicle (literally off the lot) to get a sub and door speakers installed (installation 7/10). I get a phone call from one of the employees telling me that there is a scuff on the bumper.He also mentioned that he checked the cameras and that the vehicle was brought to them that way.I’m obviously asking myself how thats possible.luckily a buddy of mine owns a building next door, which has a camera pointing in the perfect angle of where the “scuff appeared”. In the cameras you can perfectly see that there is no scuff when I drop off the vehicle.The least I would ask for is some honesty.Make sure you guys check your vehicles before trusting them!

Parkway Audio and security has provided great service and provided me with a premium sound system for a very fair price!Everyone was extremely nice but Vin is the one who directly helped me. Vin informed me that most likely I would not hear what I wanted to archive. But he said I could think about the complete replacement and was not pushy at all. I purchased a cheap amp on Amazon and Vin agreed to install it, but again Vin advised me most likely I would not be happy! He was right and I realize you get what you pay for. I am so glad I returned the Amazon amp and have everything Alpine purchased here in my SUV. I Could not have hoped for a better Soundsystem! vanessia lynch: I have had a total of 4 cars tinted at Boston Audio Design's. I purchased $199 for 7 windows deal from Groupon, my appointment was for 12pm I was there at 11:30am. Spoke to the attendant he took my phone and redeemed the voucher told me it should take about 2 hours, I go for a walk twenty minutes later BAD is calling me told me that my rear passenger windows did not needed to be tinted. His recommendation was to call Groupon, Groupon was like it's been redeemed by the merchant back and forth I go. So that I didn't waist my whole morning, I told them to do the front windows I was then told that it would be cheaper to get another voucher from Groupon " $69." For 2 windows ok how about I get the front done now if they refund me the money. I will pay you $70 or how about you refund me $ 129 dollars for the voucher your employee redeemed just less than an hour nope could do that either. Apparently some customers have ran into the same issue before and because they didn't pay BAD they felt like I wouldn't either. Wow 😯 4 cars and you didn't tried to help me at all. Oh well won't be using them in the future.

Nick Sardelli: Got my front two windows tinted. It was fairly quick (about an hour). Tint looks great and so far no issues. My only issue is that they did not wipe off my doors when finished. There were streaks of water and soap all over my door dripping to the bottom. Would be nice if they wiped that off after installation.

Justin Joyce: Had my trucks front 2 windows tinted, my wife got it with a Groupon. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday, I showed up they took the truck right in. The owner I’m assuming, explained that the fronts would be lighter than the rears to be legal, I knew that so no problem. He then took my key and said about 45 mins it would be done. About 15/20 mins later he handed me the keys and told me it was done. Well I wish he took his time, more on that in a moment. I got in the truck and I see they placed stickers over the window switches so you don’t roll them down by mistake, (nice, professional) they put a card on the rear view mirror that gave care instructions, I.E. Don’t roll windows down for 3 - 5 days, water blisters are common and will go away it about 2 - 3 weeks depending on weather, and use ammonia free window cleaner. (Again nice, professional) Well I saw the water blisters, and they are going away, (this was explained, not a big deal) HOWEVER now after 4 days I’m seeing air bubbles, and can tell there is dust/dirt between the film and the glass. (NOT GOOD) Now I need to decide if I wanna drive an hour and 20 mins round trip and have them do it over, and if I do will it be any better the second time?? (NOT GOOD) In all honesty, I would go somewhere else after reading their reviews and how my windows came out if I had to do it again. If they took their time it probably would have come out ok, but rushing a job NEVER leads to a quality job. Telling me it will take 45 mins and finishing in 10 - 15 mins is definitely rushing, no wonder there are dirt/dust under the film causing air bubbles!

Every time I asked to not scratch the film they explained it’s on the glass, but after retint the scratch moves to a different side of the window. They don’t know how to tint! Do not tint windows here! And they don’t do refunds.

Kristen D: Highly recommend Boston Audio Design for window tint. This is the second car I’ve brought here. He did my tint fast and it looks amazing! 10/10!

Justin Halloran: I got my front and back windows tinted. They said it would take 2-4 weeks for the bubbles to go away. It took 5 months. They did an awful job, I had to go back 3 times. I also had a spoiler installed. They cut the spoiler without asking me if I wanted it to be cut. I didn't. I was not happy with that the owner said they used some special adhesive for the spoiler. The spoiler is now falling off. The owner won't admit to using the adhesive and said he would charge me 150$ to take it off and put it back on. He charged me 50 in the first place. He claimed it was just the 3m tape but it was clearly not. The owner is a drug addict. He will lie to you and steal every penny from you he can. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE oh and by the way I still have some bubbles.

Coach EricaLee: I hired BAR for their cold sparks services for my daughters sweet 16 party! The gentleman who showed up was friendly, professional and he set everything up perfectly! Unfortunately, I had a huge issue with the man at the venue and he was extremely rude to the BAR employee. He sent him away and we didn’t get to use the cold sparks. The BAR. Company was so understanding and they even reimbursed me most of my money due to not being able to use the sparks even though it wasn’t their fault. I would also like to note that the venue guy screamed at the BAR gentleman while he was setting up the equipment and the gentleman handled it so well and was so professional the entire time. He even went above and beyond to try to explain to the extremely rude venue employee that the cold sparks were safe and thoroughly inspected. I would rate this place a 10 if I could! Highly recommended!

CD Wedding 2022: We used Boston Audio Rentals to deliver and install a Pipe & Drape for our November 2022 wedding. Despite assuring us that they had been to our venue “many times” and would be able to provide the Pipe & Drape, they failed to properly set up the Pipe & Drape as agreed and have since failed to respond to our request to discuss the issues following the wedding (other than one email suggesting that the problems with the setup were somehow our fault). We had a terrible experience with this company and would strongly recommend not using them.Prior to our wedding we told Boston Audio Rentals that we needed the Pipe & Drape to hide the tables which would be preset prior to our ceremony. We gave them the required setup and a picture from our venue from another wedding with our desired setup months in advance (see attached), and they received a diagram from our venue. Based on this information Boston Audio Rentals told us how many sections of Pipe & Drape we needed.On the day of the wedding their employee showed up and had no knowledge of the setup we required and had to dig through his emails to find the diagram. Once he set it up, he called the groom (point of contact) and explained that he did not have enough sections to complete the desired setup (that Boston Audio Rentals had agreed to months prior) and that he was too far from their office to obtain more sections. As you can see from the picture attached, the setup does not conceal the back of the room at all and further the sheets were also sheer which both obviously completely undermine the entire point of the Pipe & Drape in concealing the tables.We expressed our dissatisfaction during the day of the wedding, and only after involving our venue coordinator was she able to reconstruct the sections in such a way that at least the back of the venue was somewhat obstructed, but far from the agreed setup that we had paid $1000 for (plus a premature tip that was given upon the employee’s arrival).We have since reached out to the company who has been almost entirely unresponsive and now suggests the problems were our fault. This experience was extremely upsetting on our wedding day. We also wanted to note that we had no other complaints about any other vendors from our wedding other than Boston Audio Rentals. We would strongly recommend avoiding this company not only for the bad outcome, but also their extremely disappointing customer service and lack of care in their final product.

Kayla Specht: BAR exceeding our expectations in all aspects. We called them last minute 3 weeks before an event in December needing A/V rental equipment for a conference meeting. For a company of 150 people for an all-hands meeting we needed a good solution pretty quickly. Not only did they answer us (a human responded immediately) on a Sunday, but they also provided prompt, professional service. I will be using BAR for any future A/V needs. Gillian Freed: I hire Boston Audio Rentals for my wedding in September, 2022.They had the best prices in the area and were very easy to plan with, but when the day came, they were an hour and a half late. Several of my guests had to help set up the equipment so that the ceremony could happen when it was supposed to.I rented a mic from them for the ceremony and the speeches and it seemed to be a directional mic (or was on that setting), which is NOT good for talking. A couple of the people making speeches decided to not use it because it was so unreliable.Overall, not ideal, but the celebration happened anyway.

Shawn Logan: We rented Boston Audio Rentals for our wedding for their cold sparkler system and photobooth. Unfortunately the cold sparklers never went off but the company was quick to refund us after I brought It up. The photobooth was a hit with the guests and the employee followed up by giving us printouts of every picture taken. The only other frustration with the company is the communication as I often felt I was chasing them more than I should be. Would probably use them again if they improve their communication

Hooper Picasso: Came here because I seen this place had a 4.9 star rating and good reviews. so I booked an appointment from the owner and came in for my subwoofer installation and a steering wheel control install at 10am. I came in and not one employee came out to say how am I doing. I waited about 30 minutes for a guy to finally come help me. After telling them I had an appointment with the receipt paper the owner gave me, the employees looked confused because the owner is lazy and didn’t put me on the schedule. 40 minutes go by and I still haven’t handed the keys to these guys. Finally after the scheduling was fixed after they called the owner I told them I didn’t want the steering wheel control install because they were finessing me to pay $125 for that. So instead of paying a whopping $325, I was now paying $150 to install the subs. A reasonable price especially since it fit my schedule and wasn’t like other places upcharging $200+ for subs installation. After asking the employee when it could be done the employee said “I don’t know, We close at 6, we’ll call you by then” (Very professional wink, wink). While the owner told me it’s a 10-2pm appointment, so now I know they don’t go by their words. 2pm kicks in and I get a call from them telling me I have to pay $225 for the installation because they are opening my radio which costs an extra $75 LOL. I already had bad vibes from this place the minute I walked in & knew they didn’t deserve my business. This place is like any other car sounds store. Plain Ripoffs with uncharged prices from lazy workers. I don’t know how this place has such good reviews. Don’t come here you’ll waste your time like I did and hard earned money.
