Back Bay Speech & Occupational Therapy: what do users think?
Shan Liu: Our son had a wonderful experience with Bay Bay Speech. It made it so much more convenient that the speech therapist could come to our home. Our therapist was kind, patient, responsible and effective. We would highly recommend Back Bay Speech and Occupational Therapy.
Lisa Utzinger Shen: We have been working with Back Bay Speech Therapy since 2018. Micayla worked with two or our sons, doing private speech therapy in our home. She has helped us with my sons' articulation issues and also social pragmatics. We are very fortunate to work with her. They boys love her and she has improved their skills tremendously.
Karen Lostritto: They were great! Our speech therapist was Ariana and she was wonderful with my daughter. When she started, my daughter was 2.5 and barely had any words and by the time she was done 8 months later, she talked non stop, easily understandable in full sentences. Ariana was kind and compassionate and was supportive with some other developmental concerns, beyond just the speech. The fact that she came to our house made a huge difference in terms of fitting speech therapy into our life/schedule.
__: Not suitable for adults.
Kathryn Harris Lucey: Megan was incredible with my son. I highly recommend the practice—very organized and professional.
Ryan Shopshire: My daughter loved working with Back Bay Speech!!
Hilary Haimes: I had a wonderful experience working with Back Bay Speech Therapy. The whole team was extremely helpful, responsive, and flexible. My son worked with Ariana for ~9 months and we could not have been happier. She was extremely talented, patient, and loving with my toddler and he always looked forward to his Friday meetings with her. She also helped empower us as parents to use specific speech tools to help teach him everyday. We say significant improvement in his speech and could not be more grateful.
Shira Kurtz: We loved working with Megan at Back Bay Speech. She came to our house to see our 4-year-old daughter one to two times a week for several months. Our daughter made remarkable progress during that time. Megan was great at engaging our daughter and holding her interest for the entire session. Megan was always prompt and a true professional. Tracy was also very helpful with scheduling and billing issues. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we already recommended the practice to friends and will continue to do so. We only stopped seeing her because our insurance changed and they were no longer in-network, so we had to switch to another provider.
Michelle Murray: Micayla worked with our son for 2.5 years—first in-person and then remotely. His speech clarity improved tremendously over this time. Micayla is a wonderful speech therapist and person—she’s patient, kind, and warm. She was eager to find ways to engage with our son which helped them form a strong connection and enhanced his progress. He was excited to “graduate” but he will surely miss her. I highly recommend Micayla and Back Bay Speech Therapy.
Marcie Miller: Ariana was so amazing and helpful. She made speech fun and in less than a year Adela graduated! We are so grateful. Thank you!
Tyesha Kincade: Through working with Micayla Tyler has made great strides in his speech. He enjoyed his sessions with her and we are so grateful for all of his achievements. Micayla is gentle and has a lot of patience.
Jose Bohorquez: Excellent, very professional - Helped our son. Highly recommended.
Sarah James: Lisa is brilliant! She worked with my son via zoom and in person. He loved working with her and was so excited after each session to show me the activities they worked on together. His speech improved quickly and I have recommended BBST to friends and the families I teach! My students also use BBST and love it!!
Meghan Shaw: Very easy to work with this office for my seven year old's tongue thrust therapy. The therapist came to our house each session and was great with my daughter!
genevieve boland: We worked with Micayla who was amazing! Despite the Zoom format, she and our son made great progress. He refused to do Zoom school, but was always eager for Zoom speech therapy. Top notch team!
Lauren Harrison: Wow! We loved working with Lisa Butler. She was recommended by a friend who also works in speech and language. Lisa worked very effectively with our 8 year old son--and this was all done remotely. She determined he had a tongue tie and helped us know what to do. She provided exercises prior to release of the tie and afterwards, and he was able to fix his "r" sounds so quickly after that. She was a great support, very professional, and our child loved working with her. Can't recommend Lisa enough!
Jackie Bullis: We had a fantastic experience with Lisa Butler of Back Speech & Occupational Therapy! I reached out to her prior to my son's lip and tongue tie release and she was a great source of support and knowledge. She worked with us in our home (so convenient!) both before and after the release and guided us through introduction to solids, how to support self feeding, use of cups and straws, etc. I was particularly impressed with how proactive Lisa was with reaching out to my son's other providers to make sure she was kept in the loop with all his other supportive services. Highly recommend Lisa!
Talaya Delaney: Micayla Bowman was amazing with our son - who is quite shy. We saw enormous progress in the time she saw him, both in terms of his language goals and his confidence. As a SLP, Micayla is patient, gentle, and so much fun -- our son looked forward to their time together, and we saw him improve through her skill and diligence. We are so grateful for the work Back Bay Speech and Micayla did with our son! It has made such a difference!
Jose Luis Fillat: We had a great experience with Backbay Speech Therapy. Lindy was very engaging and the sessions were always a positive experience for our son. We saw improvement since day one. Our experience exceeded expectations and the lisping problem was solved faster than we initially thought. Lisa explained the process clearly and set expectations during a very pleasant introductory session. Too bad we went through this during the pandemic and could not meet in person. However the remote sessions were really efficient and effective.
Rachel Richard: I cannot recommend backbay speech therapy and Lisa enough! The therapists are so knowledgeable and just wonderful people to work with. They really care and are great at keeping kids attention and focus. I noticed a huge difference in my sons speech from working with Lisa. His speech and language just exploded after working with her. My son also looked forward to the time we spent virtually working with Lisa. We were sad When my son was discharged from services not only because my sons speech was progressing so much, but because Lisa was just such a lovely person to spend the hour with. Highly recommend!
Nicole Rickard: I worked with Micayla for my son's speech for over a year and she was so great with Will, even remotely! My son is one that doesn't do zoom well, but she was so patient and engaging with him. He really did grow under her help. The scheduling, communication, payments for the company itself was easy too and I've had a lot of experience with other companies that aren't so easy.

Beacon Therapies: what do users think?
Ginger Gainer: I’m fortunate to have found Evie to work with my son. We have been working with her for over 2 1/2 years, and I am not sure how we would have made it through this pandemic without her and her dedication and unparalleled style. Evie’s services go beyond speech and language, her methods and strategies have been a true game changer for my sons relationship with peers, adults and himself. She has worked on improving, not only his language skills, but his overall confidence and morale.Evie has been selfless in getting to the root cause of certain behavior patterns and has introduced effective strategies to manage them in a functional and positive way with language being the foundation, but also making sure that he's fully expressive with his thoughts, feelings and emotions. We have been with 3 prior speech therapists in Brookline and Newton before working with Evie and I can't imagine seeing this level of growth with anyone else. She knows how to connect with your child in ways we haven't seen with others and she has a wealth of knowledge and experience that I admire as well as her dedication and integrity to each child and parent she's working with. You are going to thank yourself when you see your child thrive in ways you haven't seen before.
Adrienne Morales: Her knowledge is what helped diagnose my daughter's tongue tie. I am thankful.
Mollie Salamon: Personable, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about her work. Evey provides the most cutting edge therapy catered to each client's individual needs and isn't afraid to refer client's elsewhere if she feels she isn't the best person for the job. Her client's best interest is always at the forefront of her practice, even if it means foregoing the financial stability that comes with securing a new client in favor of referring the client elsewhere to ensure optimal treatment for their presenting problem(s). I would recommend her highly to anyone in the Boston area looking for a speech language pathologist.
Kimberly Percival: Evelyn is highly skilled, results oriented, and has helped both my children with multiple speech and language challenges to reach their goals. In numerous situations she has gone above and beyond to provide support and guidance.
Nuria Blanco: We met Evelyn in the spring of 2016 when J was about to start the school. I remember being very worried about her lack of language and her delayed social skills and meeting Ms. Eve was a gift from heaven. She is an excellent listener and a smart and well-educated speech-language pathologist. She understood immediately the quirks of my kid's personality and designed for her activities to address the speech but also social skills, game skills, emotional cognition...She understands the work in the communication skills with an holistic approach and designs the therapy thinking not only in the kid but also in the family and its needs. The speech sessions with her are always fun and engaging and they are also effective in pull out words from J. The assessment/progress reports were very clear and easy to follow and reflected with good accuracy my kid's performance at the moment they were done. Her commitment with my kid is heartwarming and she has been a great support for our family in hard and good days. Working with her was a delight from the very beginning and for that reason, I strongly recommend Ms. Eve speech sessions to any of our relatives and friends with speech pathologies.
Carmen Cecilia Alvarez Freeman: After meeting this therapist and briefly chatting about her practice, it was evident she knew her stuff. My intuition was right when she evaluated my daughter. Needing a second opinion along with interpretation of assessment data, comparing her results with the first evaluation, adjusting and making new recommendations were the expectations placed on her.It was worth every cent as she guided me through the process because of the advocate training she went through. Was the process easy as a parent? No. What district la willing to just provide services regardless of your child's needs?Trust and believe this therapist has compassion and truly loves what she does. Aside from the advocate component, there's also the ability to determine what language your child is dominante in which can pose an obstacle. This therapist is recommended without any reservations and highly regarded.
Kai Wang: I became part of Evey’s patient family in March 2017. It is one of the the best decisions I ever made about my life resulting the best year I have had in years! Evey’s approach, developed based on the latest neurological & psychological research, is recognized as world’s leading methodology for treating speech disorder in many developed countries. I’m proud to have put my trust in her expertise during the past year, worked with her, and as a result witnessed exciting changes in my professional and personal lives in ways I could only dream of. Her method, which goes way beyond fixing a person’s stammer, gave me confidence, joy, and made me the champion of my own life!
Cathy Breen: Effective, accessible speech therapy with great results, follow through, and care.
Kadia Alia: Evelyn helped our daughter through a really challenging time in school. We loved the way she connected with our daughter and helped build her confidence.
Sonia Silverman: Evelyn was the one to explain my child's learning issues to me and educate me on Dyslexia, recommend a neuropsychologist with expertise in Dyslexia, and tell me about a wonderful school to help support my daughter's learning issues. Evelyn not only has great knowledge and expertise in language based learning issues, she is a supportive and compassionate professional. I will always be grateful for all her time and effort. Because of Evelyn, my daughter now reads and writes well, enjoys going to school, and loves learning. This only happened once my daughter was properly diagnosed and given the appropriate educational supports thanks to Evelyn. Mother of a 12 year old.
Amanda Romano: I had a great experience! So friendly and personable!
Veronica Marquis: Best speech therapist is Boston!
A Hearn: Evelyn is a consummate professional and has excellent rapport with children of all ages.

Small Talk Boston: what do users think?
Claudia Pouravelis: THE BEST! What can we say about Caroline!? In addition to being one of the kindest practitioners you will come across in life, she is so incredibly skilled and gifted at her work. She started seeing our 2 year old after the height of the pandemic when we had concerns about his delayed speech and had received her name from his doctor. Through weekly in home visits, Caroline brought activities, games and toys to build upon our son's speech progression. She provided regular notes and updates and was committed to our son's improvement as a real member of our team of care for him. We recently finished our work with Caroline (close to a year of weekly visits) because he's made great progress and we all felt comfortable about his speech level. We would recommend Caroline and Small Talk Boston to anyone looking for a caring and top notch speech therapist!
Ellen Stuart: We would strongly encourage any parents looking for a speech/language therapist to work with Caroline Chalder. Our son (J) was diagnosed with mild apraxia of speech at 2.5. Caroline has been working with J for the past 8 months and the improvement is astounding. When we started seeing Caroline, J had barely 50 words, few of which were intelligible to other people, and rarely spoke in sentences longer than 2-3 words. Now, J talks so much that it is hard to get a word in edgewise! Our family, friends, and J's teachers have all commented on how striking the change is.Caroline is attentive to J's specific needs and great at focusing on whatever area she believes is the next biggest barrier to J being understood by other people. She is great at coming up with ways to engage J and keep him focused. J loves seeing Caroline and is always proud to tell us about the work he did with her.Caroline is extremely easy to work with. She is responsive to our questions, and always gives us an update after her sessions. One thing that she is especially good at is giving us one or two things to focus on at home. This allows us to gently include speech work into our day-to-day life without J even noticing; from his perspective, he is just another kid hanging out with and chatting to his parents, and we get to feel confident that we are helping him in between sessions without making him feel like he is constantly being drilled.Caroline is great for kids and great for parents. If you have concerns about your child's speech and/or language development, don't hesitate to get in touch with her.
Bill Farrell: Caroline worked with our 2 year old son for several months on his expressive language and we couldn't have been more happy with the experience. Our son would be so excited the morning Caroline would come over and she had a way of keeping him completely engaged for the entire session. We immediately noticed a significant week over week improvement in his expressive language. When we began, he was only saying a handful of words, and after a few months his language had exploded. We're now very happy with the state of his expressive language, and owe a debt of gratitude to Caroline for working with us (particularly during COVID). I wish I could give Caroline and Small Talk more stars... if you're thinking about reaching out, do it!

WordPlay Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy, LLC: what do users think?
Kim Wolf: My 9 year old daughter absolutely loved working with Sarah. She would look forward to speech days to work with her. Her speech development was the most beneficial of all therapies we had tried in the past. We would highly recommend WordPlay.
MAC TD: We have had a wonderful experience with WordPlay. Our therapist did a wonderful job connecting with our child and creating a fun environment for learning. We are pleased with the progress we have seen!
megan thompson: I can’t say enough great things about WordPlay Pediatric Speech-Language. My daughter was a few months under a year old, when the pandemic hit and socialization stopped. Although we had close family and friends to interact with, it was tough for her. As she approached her 2nd birthday, we spoke to our pediatrician about speech delay concerns and began early intervention sessions, but they were a mix of virtual and in person, mainly masked, and hard for my daughter to really make progress. A great friend recommended, Brittany and her company, WordPlay to us. Brittany is a true professional, understood where we were, the frustrations we had and helped us get ‘re-started’ again with in home sessions. We worked weekly, with the amazingly talented, Leah. My daughter was receptive right away to her, and she quickly identified her ‘challenges’ and ‘strengths.’ Week by week, through repeated steps, processes, and a fun bag of toys, she made real progress. Leaps and bounds. Leah became like family, our entire family looked forward to seeing her, and my daughter truly for the first time, seemed confident in her speech. As we started pre-school this fall, we all felt like she was ready to show her new skills and speech off, and see where she goes. We plan to keep in touch with Leah/Brittany and schedule a session when we think she needs it. My husband and I have learned so much and are truly thankful to WordPlay for their help, support, professionalism and education, but most importantly helping our daughter feel comfortable and confident with her speech and language every day.
Amanda Wang: My son has had sessions with Sarah for a few months while now and his awareness how he says sounds and words has improved. Even on his craziest days, Sarah seems to reel him in and help him to learn. He is on the younger side and is already showing great improvement on his speech! Thank you Sarah for all the help and accommodating to our schedule!
M. May: My 4yo daughter started at-home sessions with Meaghan a few months ago & we started seeing some improvement within a few weeks. She transitioned from 2 sessions a week to having only one session a week in a short period of time. I like the convenience of having the sessions in my home where my daughter is more comfortable & gets the therapists’ undivided attention. Meaghan is great at customizing the sessions & using toys/objects that my daughter is interested in. It’s also nice knowing that my daughter looks forward to her sessions with Meaghan!
Cristina Miller: We started speech therapy with Erin and in only 5 sessions my son is articulating his words and pronouncing his diagraphs significantly better! He is engaged the moment she comes to our home. We've tried a number of speech therapists in the past and no one has even come close to having such a positive impact on Matthew as Erin. I would highly recommend WordPLay for any speech therapy needs.
SUSAN THOMPSON: Fantastic service! My 7 year old son has improved his "R" pronouciation in just a few sessions. Thank you so much!
Ana CJ: We started speech therapy in July for our 3yo who had language delay. From the inquiry to starting the sessions, Brittany was responsive, professional, and organized. I loved that communication with her has never been a problem. The summer sessions were all virtual and then we transitioned to at home twice weekly sessions in September. The speech therapist who worked with us in the summer, Leah, and our son’s current speech therapist, Andrea, are both top notch. I have been very impressed with how thoughtful and individualized the interventions have been. They are also the two most patient people I have ever met, with my son and with us parents as well. They listen and address our feedback and questions. The parent-child “homework” are all very manageable, helpful and specifically tailored for our son’s needs. I’m grateful to have found them, and would highly recommend them to others.
Lisa Ruggiero: WordPlay was a great speech therapy service that we used for our son. We were able to get timely in-person visits that were very accommodating to our schedule. The services were well constructed and very helpful and educational. Would highly recommend!
Daisy Evano: My son has been through two different speech therapist (different company) and would immediately cry and scream to avoid being in those sessions Ashton took the time to play and not to place any demands on him in the first session and I feel it made a huge impact on their connection he actually enjoys working and will sit with Ashton! It’s so hard to get speech I must of called every company I could google but Brittany was awesome she was able to get us started right away and took time to answer all my silly questions. I’m very satisfied with this company along with Ashton.
Tiffany Buckley: My 4-year-old son with ASD works with Erin at WorldPlay Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy. While he has only had a handful of sessions so far, I couldn’t be happier with the progress he is making! The online platform works great for our family, especially during these crazy times. Erin is able to hold my son’s attention during the whole 45-minute session, and I find it extremely helpful being involved with the speech sessions, as it allows Erin to share tips and tricks with me that I am able to carry through during the week. Erin really caters the books, games, and songs to my son’s interests, and she keeps the sessions interactive and fun. The owner, Brittany, is wonderful. She's incredibly responsive and thorough when answering my questions. Overall, I am incredibly impressed and pleased with WordPlay Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for Speech-Language Therapy services.
Elena Treul: My 13 yo ASD child has started speech therapy with WordPlay therapist Amanda, and I am extremely happy with the service. Sessions are 45 min, the therapist provides a feedback after every session and send a homework to solidify the skill. Amanda is very warm and personable, is able to engage and interact with my son very well. The fee is very reasonable. We used to pay 2.5 time that for 30 min on-line session in Spaulding Rehab. I would highly recommend this service.
Laura Burke: My son has been working with Erin and we could not be happier. He greatly enjoys the sessions. Erin strikes the perfect balance of making activities fun and impactful. The video format works quite well and eliminates the stress/hassle/time burden of traveling to appointments. My son has still been able to form a strong rapport with Erin despite all of the sessions being remote. I highly recommend WorldPlay Pediatric Speech-Language therapy and am grateful for the wonderful services they provide.
Ally L: We've had a wonderful experience with WordPlay. I was skeptical about virtual therapy with a two year old but they've managed to keep my son engaged for each session and he is genuinely excited to participate. More importantly, I am thrilled to see progress with my son's speech and feel better equipped to supplement his development while at home.
MC M: My child has Meaghan for a Speech therapist. She works so well with my daughter. Very knowledgeable. The owner, Brittany always responds to my emails with promptness. Very professional. I appreciated the fact that during the height of the pandemic, she aloud our speech therapist to decide for herself if it was safe to continue speech at our house. A lot of businesses were closed at the time. Brittany understands the importance of speech services for our child.
Lisa Palmer: After months of research we started working with Brittany to customize a lesson plan for our 6 year old son. Brittany is great with my son, and is very thoughtful and patient as she goes through his weekly sessions. Take home "homework" is also provided to encourage practice in between sessions. My son enjoys working with Brittany, she incorporates his favorite toy, games and interests during each session and makes it a fun relaxing environment to learn. We have seen vast improvements over the past year and my son is more aware ( in a good way) of pronunciation and clarity and is more confident when he speaks.Over the past few months, we have had telehealth ( virtual) sessions which have also been great. Brittany is still able to conduct the session effectively while using interactive games via screen-sharing. The flexibility has been great, with availability on the weekends. We are so happy to have found Brittany/ WordPlay and highly recommend her!
Laura Satterfield: We’ve had a great experience working with Leah! Our daughter enjoys meeting with her each week and is enthusiastic about the fun and engaging activities they do together. Highly recommend!
Mindy Levine: Highly recommended. My son loves coming to Ms. Brittany each week to play and learn speech, all at the same time!
Marianne Miller: We weren't sure what to expect when we started, but Brittany has made our experience fun and easy. My daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions and is making great progress. I get regular updates and personal recommendations on areas we can help reinforce through the week. We are so pleased to have found Brittany and highly recommend her services.
Sarah Spitz: We had a wonderful experience working with Brittany Doyle. She was enormously helpful to my daughter, and we couldn't be happier with her progress.
Gulsun Gul: Over two years our son had speech therapy with Brittany and we saw a great improevement. I highly recommend her.G Baum
