bornagain bornagain: First time visiting the store today. I needed to buy some Ultra Foam padding to send an expensive Turntable to an expert in Florida. I also happened to have 2 chair cushions that need to have the fabric replaced. So I went in and met Kevin, his coworker was busy with another customer, I told him what I was looking for and why I needed it. He told me I will take care of you. So nice and friendly. He went down to the shop and came up with a whole bunch of scrap foam, super thick and luxurious. Awesome stuff to protect the fragile Turntable on it's journey to Florida. And the chair pads, he told me to do it myself and save more money. He hooked me up with material that he called remnant, and I got a super good vinyl that felt just like leather. Soft and perfect color. So affordable at just 25$ a square yard. He dug out the roll and it was more than a yard, but not too much more. He ended up giving me the entire roll that was left for the price of 1 yard. This guy is one of the nicest persons I have had the pleasure of meeting in years. A talented, honest, caring and helpful person. Very rare indeed these days. I have all my needs met at 26$. He saved me over 100$ and I walked away with super quality products. I will always come to this store for any fabric, or upholstery needs, and for packing foam to protect expensive electronics. This gentleman has been Best of Boston awarded and I can easily see why. I bet he is best of MA. Just my opinion LOL but WOW such a wonderful store. Thanks Kev!!!

Donna Ryan: Shopped at Boston store and enjoyed. Cool styles and made in USA were appealing. Worked with "designer" who was sweet but really no help (and she was gone before our order arrived.) Waited many months for products and 2/6 arrived with poor factory finishes. So disappointing! Delivery was an absolute nightmare - first delivery was 10 p.m. on a rainy Sunday evening (after cancel on short notice Friday afternoon and no communication on Sat). Crew unprepared, scratched my closet and ceiling, filthy handprints on walls. Tried to move everything fully assembled with drawers and legs and struggled mightily. Second delivery was 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday, and crew confused about pick up items. They ultimately got the job done, but these deliveries were the most stressful I've ever had! I would never shop with them again and can't recommend them.

However, this company has a major quality control problem. 3 of 4 items in my furniture order were returned. Wooden tops had gashes in them. On a $1000 desk, the powder coat was bubbled/poorly applied. This should not happen.Yes, you can return for free, but this wastes time. Room and board should improve their quality so we don’t need to return.Despite excellent customer service, I would not shop here again.

Armed with a tape measure we explored a multitude of size options for our bedroom storage. We even received a great lunch recommendation within walking distance! Furniture is beautiful and high quality. Finishes are exact and fine to the touch. Only downside? I want more!

You pay a higher price but you get what you pay for and that's something that will last a lifetime. You cannot compare Ikea and room and board. The staff is also amazing. Super helpful and never pushy. Sometimes I just like to come in and hang out and they are just happy to see me enjoying myself! My girlfriend and I just bought a couch and plan to buy more because of how amazing they've been. 10/10 would recommend over West elm or other comparable companies.

We ordered curtains rod online to pick up in store but the color from the one we got it doesn’t look like in the online picture so we called and tried to ask for exchange to different color in same style but Staff put an replacement order with the same color one and not even ask us or confirm us or anything she just said back I put an order it will ship to store. We have to wait a month when replacement come then we call to cancel and get refund after. This is all the staff fault by putting an order and never ask or confirm with us. Susan Kim: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I've been a loyal west elm customer for the past five years. Most recently, I purchased a defective couch and was informed via customer service that I will be getting a refund on the couch. TWO MONTHS later, after numerous email and phone correspondences reassuring me that I will be getting a refund, I was informed that instead of the promised refund, that I would be getting a merchandise credit. I would like to hold west elm accountable for not keeping their promise. I have written evidence of west elm promising me over and over again a refund being issued within 5-7 business days. I would wait the full 5-7 business days and inquire about the refund, and they would cite a reason why the refund was not issued (various issues on their end). TWO MONTHS later, they say that they cannot issue me a refund (AFTER I've already purchased another couch from a different company) and that they will give me merchandise credit. it is incredibly disappointing that this is how they treat their customers. I have heard horror stories before but never thought that this could happen to me. I am a fool to have thought that I would be an exception.

Then I need to order again and pay another delivery cost. The couch scheduled to deliver after 4 months. On the day of delivery. The delivery guy called me and then disappeared. I waited for 4 hours and called customer services. They keep diverting the line to another person. No action. My couch has not delivered and i paid 4000 dollar on it. I don’t suggest anyone ordered fron this furniture store. Bad service.

When I got home and received the confirmation email, the address is still wrong; then I called their customer service to make the change, the customer service person said it's all set. About one week later I got the shipping email, the address is still wrong! And I had to call them again which is so annoying!

Pompanoosic made us an exquisite bed, and their customer service was exquisite, too. Pompanoosic Mills makes its furniture with artistry and care. Our bed specified ornamental wood in the headboard and footboard. The furniture makers took care to find a beautiful piece for our bed. This took longer than expected, and our bed was delivered a couple of weeks after it was promised. We were relying on our new bed for guests and late delivery presented a problem for us. Most businesses would have apologized and that would have been that, but Mary (our salesperson) had the mill deliver a ”loaner” bed to help us out until our bed was ready. This was above and beyond what most businesses would do. We love our new bed. Pompanoosic gets an A+.

Steen Hansen: Great experience. Had lining of an office chair replaced expertly. The frame of the chair was excellent, but it was a cheap make. The store had the integrity to point out that it might be less expensive to buy a new chair. I had the work done anyway with no regrets as I now have a chair that is really nice and hopefully will last a long time. Better solution for the environment as well.

Barbara Saltzstein: Custom drapes ordered in July 2021.Drapes finally ready December 2021.The woman making the drapes asked me endlessly the same questions. I got a call December 22 that the install was ready to be done. I was then charged for the above the installation was to take 3 hours and he did not want to wear a mask. Given the pandemic that was inappropriate and windows could not be opened. I clearly asked the owner to find out what the hardware was as I found a handyman and designer who could have installed as the pandemic receded. The owner never got back to me and I have made recent call’s attempting installation. While she apologized and the drapes are to be installed, my credit card was used for months by this business. Altogether a mess despite the pandemic.

It was upholstered in a light color leather, which was cracked and ripped, and I finally decided to get it reupholstered to pass onto my granddaughters. Well, I could not be more pleased with the workmanship on this precious chair. Maurice helped me pick out the leather, which is much nicer than my original choices. It turned out PERFECT!
