Walter Group Real Estate: The RL store on Newbury has been my favorite for many years. We were recently visiting Boston, MA from Sarasota, FL and worked with Hal in the men's department. We did not have a lot of time, but he helped outfit us for my nephew's Dartmouth football game...(great hunter green options! ) It was raining and cold so we Floridians needed warm gear! Hal provided exceptional customer service, we will shop with him virtually in the future, even if we are not in Boston!

My boyfriend bombed into the Ludlow Shop half an hour before the store closed, drenched in sweat, carrying his bike, with me sheepishly trailing behind in my post-barre clothes (I'm posting this review from his account). Joe didn't bat an eye, he just offered us both water and started making calm, cool-headed recommendations. My boyfriend needed a suit for a client meeting tomorrow, and walked out with a full ensemble from suit, to shoes, to pocket square. I will be recommending the Ludlow Shop at Copley to everyone I know from now on. The clothes are modern, debonair and impeccably made. The service was unparalleled. I'll be sending my boyfriend here from now on, and I know he'll be in good hands.

Suits in-store are marketed-up so best to order on their website online)I went to Brooks Brothers to purchase a suit for a wedding event a month away.Only pro was employee there helped me find a nice suit and I was able to pay for the suit.The rest are cons of the store.For starters, the suit that was purchased in store appeared nice but was definitely overpriced for the quality (the online sale of this suit on their website was cheaper, and to get my refund I would need to purchase the suit online from their website and then cancel the one being tailored physically)Next negative, the suit tailoring took more than a month to finish tailoring. THEY FINISHED 2 DAYS WITHIN THE WEDDING DATE WHEN THEY HAD OVER A MONTH OF TIME. This is not because of busy schedule; this is because Brooks Brothers will move your slot of tailoring to be closest to the date of your expected event so that they would not re adjust / re tailor your suit if they happen to mess up. And even if they had to fix their mistake there would not be enough time to tailor again (this is a morally disgusting)Last their phone service does not work and it is better to get the number of one of the employees there. When you call the number, the line verifies and hangs immediately within 5 seconds (probably auto-set this way). Either this or you have to physically enter store to ask if your suit is ready.
David Logan: Do NOT shop here. Seriously. Spend the extra time to check out the one in Chestnut Hill or hopefully the Assembly Row one will reopen soon. Been a fan of Brooks Brothers for over a decade. I go to them for casual and business wear. We live in the Boston area and this is easily the closest store to us. This is the third time I’ve shopped here and I won’t ever be coming back. The service is terrible. Employees are straight up rude and condescending. Mostly dealt with upstairs in the men’s section. The one employee helping us was rude, slow, and uninterested. I wish we’d just been left alone instead of being “helped.” Saw another customer in the changing room be abandoned by the (condescending) employee who was helping him. The customer had to come out and wander the store looking for the employee who said they’d come back with different sizes and never did. My wife he and he shared a laugh about how ridiculous it all was. Didn’t help the situation that the service seemed (perhaps) to be driven by customers looked. The customer abandoned in the changing room was a young black man in jeans. I’m a young white man who looks even younger than I am and was wearing a t-shirt (a BB one!). My wife saw the same employee who’d abandoned the one customer cheerily helping another customer, this one an older white man in a suit. Who knows what accounts for differences in service—but it wasn’t a good look. Checking out, we tried to use a coupon we’d received from BB in the mail. Wouldn’t be active for a few days so my wife and I debated whether to wait and come back. The cashier literally rolled her eyes as if folks who use a coupon or try to get a deal shouldn’t be shopping there. Sad because BB clothes are still great. But the folks at this store aren’t.
John Dickson: The store has Very poor customer service. The associates have an unprofessional appearance at the Boston Newbury Street store. The men are not wearing suits and do not have a savvy professional understanding of the standard of the community within the locale of the store and the well dressed man. No bathroom for the handicapped and people with urinary medical issues. Told to use Starbucks and that’s what associates are to utilize also. The associates are rude and have unbelievably uncaring remarks. I got the same answer about the plumbing problem every time I went into this store for over a year about the restrooms. It’s unsatisfactory. I had to dash down to the Newbury Hotel formerly The Boston Ritz to use the Men’s room. I was embarrassed. Every time I mentioned a suggestive comment, the response was ok-ok- ok and ok. The associates walked away and I was ignored. Not going to happen again ever. I’m— Not returning ever again to Brooks Brother’s Newbury Street Boston. I have been a Customer since 1991.
Perry Papp: Brooks Brothers has slid so badly in recent years it is so sad. The best traditional clothing store with the best service that I remember has become an example of retail incompetence and indifference. Whoever bought this soon to be dinosaur (Nautica i think?) get your act together FAST!

Jialan Zhang: The suits are fine, but the customer service especially the tailoring staff is very unprofessional. The tailor in the store was rude and said things to me very discriminating only because I didn’t choose her to do the tailoring (3 weeks waiting time at least). Also, they forgot to take the locks off from our suits. We had to go back and have them off. It was time wasting, but the staffs in the store were not sorry at all for their mistakes. If you are not in a rush to buy a suit, avoid this place. Expensive clothes with terrible customer service.
Chris: Be careful with their suit department. Don't use the tailor or expect quick and coherent service. I purchased a nice suit in December for my own wedding. The sales person initially told me that the tailoring is included and no extra charge. I came back in a few months to see if there are any tailoring size changes from the measurements initially taken. I came back end of February and after waiting a while, the tailor spent no time and said it was the same but also seemed confused by some of his own stuff he wrote down or forgot to write down. The same sales person then charged me for tailoring since I was getting the legs tapered, okay fine, would of been nice to know that when I first purchased the suit rather then tell me it was included when you knew the legs were being tapered. I paid for tailoring and it was 3 weeks later and supposed to be ready on the 21st Monday which is the earliest the tailor said he could make it ready by. I got no phone call. I called on Monday and they said they would need to get back to me, but no call back. I call back (Tuesday) and the same woman answered and said she forgot to call me back as she got busy the other day. She then tells me that they can't find the suit in the store. I tell her my wedding is in a few days. She then tells me the suit was already marked as picked up by someone, and am I really sure that no one came to pick it up for me? Are you telling me my $1000 suit was lost? Then I call back some hours later and am told there was a mix up and they have found my suit, but needs to confirm with what happened and when I can pick up. Finally the tailor/assistant manager calls me and tells me they have the suit but it was "not in the right place" so they never tailored it. They wil rush it for the next day for Wednesday. I need this for my own wedding so it's unbelievable. The good news is the suit was really nice, but the service at this store with the tailor was bad. They did refund the tailoring fee after due to the circumstances.

Ralph picked up the phone and instantly put the phone on the counter while helping other customers so I had to wait while overhearing their entire checkout conversation. Once this was over I tried to give Ralph my name and ask if my suit was ready, but this proved to long of a task and Ralph again put the phone down to check out more customers. At this point I had been waiting for 15 minutes to ask if they had my suit. Obviously he was too busy to help me so I asked for somebody else. To this, Ralph told me that was not necessary because he was the store's manager, then confirmed he was too busy to help me, and hung up the phone. 30 minutes later I received a call from ralph telling me my suit was ready for pick up by saying "Hey this is the new friend you just made" in a sarcastically rude tone of voice. That was the most unprofessional employee I have ever interacted with in my life, despite the fact that I was picking up a golden fleece suit from their own store.

If there is a location that's 6 hours away with the same choices, i would have chosen that over this location. The staff were not very helpful in helping me select a suit. I was not even acknowledged for the first 30 mins and I was invisible to them. And they gave me very little recommendations or suggestions through the process. I had been to the Brooks Brothers at an outlet mall and received great customer service before visiting this store location. They didn't have the size that would fit me and recommended I order something bigger. When they went to order it they got it in the wrong color. Their inefficiency and mistakes cost me a week and 6 hours of driving to and from the store. Having a need to call them for information or help is not something i would wish on my worst enemy. I was trying to track down my suit and see when it would be ready. But after 3 days and 30 attempts of calling them and leaving multiple messages i got no response and no call back.So in short, choose Brooks Brothers but avoid this location. Will save you a lot of time and heart burn and save you some money and time.

Tiffany Chen: The most unfriendly return policy I've ever encountered in the U.S. I bought the shirt in the store a week ago, and I decided to return it because the fit is a little weird. I head to the store on my way home from work, so I didn't have the receipt with me. I thought it would be ok since I have my bank statement that shows the address of the store where the purchase was made, and the tag is still on the shirt. To my surprised, they said no. They explained that it's because they can't be sure that I bought the shirt at this particular location. You can't return things you bought at a different Uniqlo location??? That is absurd. I told them I have the bank statement with their store name and address on it. They still said no because I don't have the receipt. Uniqlo is not worth this hassle and wasting your money if you can't return it.
Frank Fretzel: The second-floor customer service was disappointing. I felt treated like a scammer when returning an item I bought recently. Despite providing the original receipt, I was told I needed the original hangtag, which was inconvenient. The frustration really came when the representative interrogated me about the item's condition, pointing out a faded color. When I explained it was already present when I purchased it, the representative called over colleagues to confirm if the item had been worn. I felt uncomfortable and doubted, as if they were gathering evidence against me for simply following their return policies. While I acknowledge the importance of adhering to company policies, the way the customer service representatives acted towards me made me feel upset and uncomfortable.

Karena Crawford: This store becomes crowded really fast depending on the times that you visit. I also don't like that the jewelry display is in an awkward place, which is in the waiting line. It makes it hard to browse the selection of jewelry with people impatiently waiting behind you. I was told once that I was holding up the line when that wasn't my intention.
Mish White: I love shopping at Old Navy especially for summer clothing. I love the fact that many of the items I buy are 100% cotton and usually not made in China!!! From my point of view, Old Navy is relatively inexpensive. In addition to tops for spring/summer, I love the flip flops, straw hats and bags for summer. It's a great place to shop if you need items for your vacay!!! I would recommend checking out Old Navy!!

For starters, the staff refuses to make eye contact! They are hasty and overzealous too for no reason! They have zero experience and don't understand the simple premise of customer service: you must be happy to be there for one, two, you must make eye contact with a customer! Then you are genuinely communicating and simply assisting someone with checkout. Simple. AND especially with an online order pickup: it's supposed to be easy, they say it is on website but when you get to this location it's a nightmare and you're made to feel awkward and uncomfortable as you're trying to reach in your bag for the phone that you need with the email & barcode, as well as the ID you need to bring (which is clearly stated on the email)..I mean hey we know how to shop, we know what to bring!;..but when you walk in you are demanded your ID immediately - as in one case from a girl who was not even doing the pickup she was going to go get somebody else - but she wouldn't shut up about the ID immediately after I walked in the front area..... TODAY Nov 28 '22 is the last day for me to pick up my extremely much needed items purchased online days ago!! Today's the last day, the 5th day to pick up by end of day (as my email clearly stated)! BUT the inexperienced, rude staffer overzealously (per usual) put it away ??? and I got notification that I'm getting a refund ?!? Well it's heartbreaking now.. We purchase stuff online at a discount..a great deal and the items are extremely useful and good quality and much needed!! The items I purchased are severely needed and I was looking forward to picking up today :( :( :( The person who put it back did wrong and provided a huge disservice to me! The management needs to make amendments by contacting me.. I will be contacting upper management in San Francisco.. I have had enough of this store and this needless rude behavior..this is not the Old Navy mission or practices across the Nation! I am devastated by the email today letting me know that I'm getting a refund when I extremely needed the Christmas gifts that I purchased a few days ago for "store pick up, bring this email & government ID"!! :( :( :(

Runze Yang: I would give zero star if I could. I purchased a jacket in the store today and I remembered that I saw the price on the jacket in the store was $298. However, when I arrived home and checked my receipt, it is $398 plus $13.94 on the receipt. So I brought the jacket and wanted to check the price tag, but the price tag is GONE!!! I called the customer service of RL and explained the situation, the girl called the store and found out the price is indeed $298, so she asked the store to issued a refund for the extra money the store charged me. I don't want to reveal the salesperson's name here, but was that a mistake? Why the price tag is gone if that was a mistake??? Super frustrated with this store!!!

I wish the selection was a bit bigger, but otherwise a convenient and pleasant location to shop. Note that they have extra sizes available in the back for a lot of items.

Roaski 27: Very very very rude manager, these type of staff are the reason that people shop online rather than the store. A manager should be nice to customers and talk respectfully ”waer your mask I’m not going to ask again, or I’m going to make you leave the store” even though mask was on my face he still showed a really rude attitude which is unacceptable. This store will shut down if they hire managers that don't have the skill to help costumers and talk to the respectfully.

scarlet ryane: I know BB was in bankruptcy but why are they responding by offering so little to women? They used to have the best button-down and elegant t-shirt selection so that you could revitalize your suits every season. And the sweaters, nothing was so perfect for a casual yet prim look at work. Now, the color choice and designs are so spare, I've found nothing. I've checked the web site several times over the past year year before going into the store and so far in the past 12 months have seen nothing to bring me in. I even went to the outlet in Assembly Row hoping there would be something you wouldn't see online and found nothing. I've switched to Foxcroft for non-irons.

Precisely the service and assistance you would expect from BB. Thanks so much!

Alexander Nishibun: I called the Brooks Brothers in Chestnut Hill, MA in hopes to get my measurements taken for a custom suit.The associate who answered the phone was incredibly curt and did not seem interested in helping me at all. I realize that she probably assumed I was asking to have measurements taken so I could then go to a different retailer and have a suit made, but she was mistaken.I hope that the in-store service is friendlier. Based on my phone experience, I would not recommend this location.
Women’s Intellectual Network: Whatever the name of the woman who was working at 5:00 Wed the week of May 20 is, that person should be fired. She was exceptionally rude. I came in to return a few items I had bought online and to try on a couple of things in the store. She quite loudly announced that “we prefer it when people do not return online orders to the store.” I said calmly “Oh, I didn’t realize that.” I waited silently and patiently whille she proceeded to spend 15-20 minutes returning these items, which at JCrew or Talbots or Ann Taylor would have taken 5 mins. She had trouble seeing the computer screen, she had trouble hearing, she was very slow in general. She also announced two more times (quite loudly) during the course of this that they don’t like people to return items purchased online to the store because “it’s better for our company”- I should have gone to the post office instead. That’s ridiculous: every retailer in the country has been taking returns in-store for years without scolding its customers. Moreover, I had come into the store to try on a couple of things, i.e. to spend more money. Her behavior was so out of the ordinary for a retail professional/salesperson that I wondered if she simply had a social problem (lack of social skills in general), but given that she also scolded me volubly at the end for glancing away from the POS machine (I was checking texts to pass the time and she didn’t tell me in advance that the screen would ask me to sign), I concluded that she was indeed angry that I had brought a return and wanted to insult me for it. Bizarre. She’s also jarring to look at: she has no figure and therefore is incapable of wearing BB clothes, and also lacks professional-looking hair and make-up. Given these problems in multiple areas, why was she hired by B.B.? I’ve decided not to go to this BB in future. It’s the second time I’ve had the experience of waiting a long time while a salesperson with little to no sense of customer service/professionalism take ages to complete simple tasks while being either minimally or maximally unpleasant (first time was purchasing something in-store).
Geoff Bocobo: I have never written a review, but feel that I need to talk about this bizarre experience...My girlfriend and I patiently waited as a man was being assisted at the register by both staff members (why did they both need to be there?) and eventually one of the staff came over to us (albeit out of order) as they assisted another guy first, who came in after us. I asked about a dress shirt and the staff member told me what I was looking for, but then didn't really help.I chose one shirt that I was pretty sure I wanted to purchase and another I was considering. As I slowly walked toward the dressing room, he swiftly took the shirts out of my hands and placed them at the counter, while at the same time speaking about a 3 for the price of 2 deal. Then he gave me a random shirt to try on that was a completely different color. I was confused why, since I wanted to see how the other shirts looked on me. I eventually asked to try on the shirts, and he said he preferred to not unfold both of them, but was reluctantly willing to give me one. Is he a salesman? Does he not want to sell me these shirts?!I felt so weird at this point, but I do like to invest in a Brooks Brother's shirt every now and then, because of their quality, so I proceeded with payment. He did not ask me if I had a membership card or anything, but I actually had a 15% off corporate Kappa Sigma gift card. When I gave it to him, he looked surprised and then added the discount. He then told me the total and left me in the blue about donating to St. Jude's Hospital (if I wanted to donate a smaller amount or not at all).Weirdly enough, we walked into J Crew right next door and were literally greeted by three nice ladies as we entered each, respective, new portion of the store. Such a stark contrast between these big smiles at J Crew and the haughty nature of the store clerks at Brooks Brothers. Thoroughly disappointed. Next time I will just order online!

J V: If I could give them 0 stars, I would. The worst service. The manager is rude and really unprofessional. I wear a suit almost everyday and have purchased suits from Brooks Brothers in the past. I just happened to be in the Chestnut Hill Mall over the holidays and purchased a couple of suits. It took 3 calls to find out if a suit they brought in from another store was in, leaving a message each time. It took numerous times on a Sunday afternoon for someone to pick up the phone! When they did, a representative took my name and number but never returned the call. Finally went to the store and was greeted (for lack of a more appropriate term) by the most unpleasant and unprofessional person, the store manager!!!. Don’t waste your time. Brooks Brothers is a top notch outfit. You will be MUCH better served driving west to Natick or east to Newbury St.
